I don't get it at all.
Why would anyone want to pay (probably a high ticket price) to watch a body-double and CGI enhanced hologram?
It's a bit like people who pay to see 'tribute' bands. It's just a bunch of wannabe pop-stars pretending they are someone else....

I seem to recall an interview with John Lear (i think it was) who said that Hologram technology and 4D+ video tehnology was so advanced now you couldn't tell the difference from the real thing.

This video shows some amazing advances in video tech...

Wow, thanks for sharing. Found creative hologram screen for home use, someone is unfolding it in this video:

It’s called the Looking glass projector, this time from scattered group of self supported developers.

Nothing really wrong with tribute bands - they can be quiet good and dont charge the earth for tickets.
Saying that one "Tribute band" I was given tickets to for free was "The Doors of the 21st Century" - had a bunch of tickets that I couldn't even give away - imagine my shock when they came on stage and I found out it was the real Mcoy !!!
One of my favourite bands who I did not know had reformed with Ian Astbury as lead singer to play the LA Woman tour they never got to do because of Jim Morrisons death.
Incredible night.

Here's the show.

Astbury made a great frontman.

See, even Astbury is pretending to be Morrison....

Who would you suggest front the band - julie Andrew's?

Was Brian Johnson an unsuitable replacement for Bon Scott in AC/DC because he sounded too similar ?

I don't get your gripe !

No ones "pretending" to be anyone - just bringing alive a sound and a tour that never happened.

I think your glass is half empty whereas mine is half full.

I hear you, my friend.

Brian Johnson was Brian Johnson, not a surrogate Bon Scott. He was his own man and dressed as himself and not as Bon Scott did.

Clearly, Astbury is trying to channel Morrison - look at his black clothes, the way he stands, his hair and sunglasses. Just like Morrison. If that isn't pretending to be someone else, then I don't know what is!

After Brian Jones died, Mick Taylor didn't dye his hair and have it cut into a bob.

Paul Rogers didn't grow a 'Freddie' moustache, wear a jumpsuit and prance about the stage when he fronted Queen.

Ronnie James Dio, Dave Walker and Ian Gillan didn't pretend to be Ozzy Osbourne when they fronted Black Sabbath.

I could go on...

Maybe now you will understand, if not appreciate, my "gripe" ;)
