"The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation in 2012 funded All Things Bugs, a project to “develop a novel food product made from insects to treat malnutrition in children from famine stricken areas of the world.” The company has since expanded into developing genetically modified insects, with help from the U.S. Department of Defense.
While regulators in non-U.S. countries, including Singapore, have issued approvals for specific insect-based foods, in the U.S., the regulatory landscape is murkier — there is no legal approval process or clear-cut prohibition of insects for human consumption.

As a result, insect-containing foods have reached U.S. consumers, even though one of the few existing U.S. laws that address insects in the food supply refers to them as “filth” and a form of “adulteration.”

Crickets and grasshoppers reach U.S. consumers in a variety of forms, from protein bars to protein shakes. They’re also found on restaurant menus and are promoted as pet food and animal feed ingredients.

With few U.S. regulatory barriers to contend with, investors like Bill Gates and Big Food giants such as Tyson Foods have also begun investing in “alternative protein” startups — despite mainstream media “fact-checks” claiming Gates doesn’t support the consumption of insects.

Internist Dr. Meryl Nass, founder of Door to Freedom, told The Defender lax U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations — under which many insect-containing foods can be classified as “Generally Regarded as Safe” (GRAS) — “means they don’t require testing” and enable the FDA to “look the other way.”

The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation’s Grand Challenges Explorations program in 2012 funded All Things Bugs, a project to “develop a novel food product made from insects to treat malnutrition in children from famine stricken areas of the world,” according to Eurasia Review.

All Things Bugs has since expanded into the development of genetically modified insects. With funding from the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), “we are using CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing and other methodologies to develop base technologies for creating insects as a new bioresource,” the company states.

DARPA is a research and development agency that operates under the U.S. Department of Defense.

All Things Bugs said that while insects are “a very sustainable source of protein,” it “is innovating to make them a feasible commodity for the food industry.”

Claire Robinson, managing editor of GMWatch, told The Defender, “With all GMOs [genetically modified organisms], including insects, it’s vital that they are subjected to a pre-marketing risk assessment for health and the environment.”

Robinson said, “This includes testing them for the presence of pathogens, possible allergens and substances that may be toxic to humans. Then they must be clearly labeled for the consumer.”

Gates’ investments in insect-based foods appear to be part of a broader strategy to invest in alternatives to animal-based foods for consumers.

In a February blog post, Gates said he invested in Savor, a startup producing butter made from air (carbon dioxide) and water (hydrogen). And in 2022, the Gates Foundation awarded a $4.76 million grant to Nature’s Fynd, a startup producing foods containing fungi-based protein. In 2020, Breakthrough Energy Ventures, founded by Gates, invested in Nature’s Fynd.

The U.S. government’s National Science Foundation (NSF) also is involved in the insects-as-food space, through its funding of the Center for Environmental Sustainability through Insect Farming (CEIF). Established in 2021, CEIF seeks “to develop novel methods for using insects as feed for livestock, poultry, and aquaculture.”

Institutions participating in CEIF include Texas A&M University, Indiana University-Purdue University in Indianapolis and Mississippi State University — along with Tyson Foods, Protix and Innovafeed, backed by food processing giant ADM, formerly the Archer-Daniels-Midland Company.

Insect protein start-ups raised ‘over $1 billion in venture capital since 2020’

The production of insects for human food is expanding in the U.S. and globally, with support from the United Nations and the World Economic Forum (WEF).

In 2013, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations released a seminal report, “Edible insects: future prospects for food and feed security,” which promotes the environmental and nutritional benefits of insect consumption.”

A 2022 WEF paper, “5 reasons why eating insects can reduce climate change,” suggests people are “conditioned to think of animals and plants as our primary sources of proteins … but there’s an unsung category of sustainable and nutritious protein that has yet to widely catch on: insects.”

According to a November 2023 Washington Post report, “Insect start-ups have raised over $1 billion in venture capital since 2020.”

A 2021 report by Netherlands-based Rabobank claimed the demand for insect protein, “mainly as an animal feed and pet food ingredient, could reach half a million metric tons by 2030, up from today’s market of approximately 10,000 metric tons.”

A report by Grand View Research forecasted the global insect protein market will expand by an annual compound growth rate of 16.9% by 2030, while European projections estimate “the number of Europeans consuming insect-based food will [reach] a total of 390 million by 2030,” according to EuroNews.

Ynsect, for instance, has built factories in France and the Netherlands, and is erecting factories in the U.S. and Mexico, according to Feed Navigator. The company claims its insect-producing farms are “climate positive,” “benefit biodiversity” and are aligned with the Paris Agreement and the European Union’s “Fit for 55” goal.

In March 2022, Ynsect acquired Nebraska-based Jord Producers — a mealworm farm. And in December 2022, Ynsect signed an agreement with U.S. flour milling company Ardent Mills to build a factory in the Midwestern U.S. Ardent Mills is a joint venture between ConAgra Foods, Cargill and CHS, a global agribusiness cooperative.

Investors in Ynsect include actor Robert Downey Jr.’s FootPrint Coalition and France’s Crédit Agricole bank — along with support from the FAO and the European Commission. The company has raised over $600 million.

Celebrity chefs also are embracing insect food. In November 2023, the Financial Times featured Joseph Yoon, founder of Brooklyn Bugs, whose “goal is to popularise edible insects and build up this food source to help support global food security.”Your dog can eat insects, too

In addition to a lack of FDA regulations governing the use of insects in foods for humans, the FDA also does not regulate the use of insects for pet food ingredients.

According to Animal Frontiers, “pet food is under the nongovernment Association of American Feed Control Officials (AAFCO)” in the U.S. In January, French firm Ynsect became the first company to receive AAFCO authorization for commercial production of mealworm protein for dog food in the U.S.

In October 2023, Big Food giant Tyson Foods announced the acquisition of an ownership stake in the Dutch insect ingredient producer Protix. Tyson said the new joint venture would construct “the first at-scale facility of its kind to upcycle food manufacturing byproducts into high-quality insect proteins and lipids which will primarily be used in the pet food, aquaculture, and livestock industries.”

Although the announcement did not definitively exclude the production of insect-containing foods for humans, a Reuters “fact check” published in May stated, “Tyson Foods does not put insects into products for human consumption.”

Tyson has invested in Upside Foods, which in June 2023 won approval from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) to produce lab-grown chicken. Upside garnered more than $600 million in research and development investments, including from Gates, Richard Branson, Elon Musk’s brother Kimbal Musk and Cargill.

Vanguard and BlackRock, the world’s two largest institutional investment firms, are also the two top institutional holders of Tyson Foods shares. BlackRock, and its CEO, Larry Fink, have promoted “sustainable” corporate practices."

Bill Gates to Stand Trial in Netherlands in COVID Vaccine Injury Lawsuit

A Netherlands court last week ruled that Bill Gates can stand trial in the Netherlands, in a case involving seven people injured by COVID-19 vaccines. Other defendants include Albert Bourla, CEO of Pfizer, and the Dutch state.

According to Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf, the seven “corona skeptics” sued Gates last year, along with former Dutch prime minister and newly appointed NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, and “several members” of the Dutch government’s COVID-19 “Outbreak Management Team.”

Other defendants include Albert Bourla, Ph.D., CEO of Pfizer, and the Dutch state.

“Because Bill Gates’ foundation was involved in combating the corona pandemic, he has also been summoned,” De Telegraaf reported.

According to Dutch independent news outlet Zebra Inspiratie, the plaintiffs allege that Gates, through his representatives, deliberately misled them about the safety of the COVID-19 shots, despite knowing “that these injections were not safe and effective.”

Dutch independent journalist Erica Krikke told The Defender that the seven plaintiffs — whose names are redacted in the lawsuit’s publicly available documents — “are ordinary Dutch people, and they have been jabbed and after the jabs they got sick.”

Krikke said that of the seven original plaintiffs, one has since died, leaving the other six plaintiffs to continue the lawsuit.

The lawsuit was filed in the District Court of Leeuwarden. According to De Telegraaf, “Gates had objected because, according to him, the judges did not have jurisdiction.” Accordingly, the court first “had to rule in the so-called incident procedure,” De Andere Krant reported.

Zebra Inspiratie reported that the hearing in this “incident procedure” took place on Sept. 18 and that Gates’ representatives disputed jurisdiction, but not the claim.

According to De Andere Krant, Gates was represented by the Pels Rijcken law firm, based in The Hague, described as “the largest and the premier litigation law firm in the Netherlands.” Gates did not appear at the Sept. 18 hearing, but attorneys for Gates argued that the court “had no jurisdiction over him because he lives in the United States.”

However, in its Oct. 16 ruling, the Leeuwarden court ruled it does have jurisdiction over Gates. De Andere Krant reported that the court found “sufficient evidence” that the claims against Gates and the other defendants are “connected” and based on the same “complex of facts.”

Other defendants who reside outside of the Netherlands, including Bourla, did not challenge the court’s jurisdiction.

The court ruled Gates must pay attorneys’ fees and additional legal costs totaling 1,406 euros (approximately $1,520). A hearing is scheduled for Nov. 27.

‘Even if … your name is Bill Gates, you still have to go to court’

In remarks shared with De Andere Krant, Arno van Kessel, one of the plaintiffs’ attorneys, welcomed the ruling. “In its verdict, the court has clearly recorded the basis of our conclusions of claim,” van Kessel said.

Dutch attorney Meike Terhorst told The Defender it is “quite interesting” that the plaintiffs filed the lawsuit in Leeuwarden instead of The Hague, where normally, all cases against the government related to COVID-19 are filed.

“In general, COVID-19 court cases have been very unsuccessful in the Netherlands,” Terhorst said. “There is a slim chance it will be successful.”

She added:

“I think most judges support the COVID-19 vaccination agenda and will find it hard to believe the vaccinations have caused injuries. So, we have a long way to go, regardless of the case.”

Krikke shared a more optimistic outlook, saying that the court sent a message that “even if you are rich and your name is Bill Gates, you still have to go to court.”

New Zealand-based independent journalist Penny Marie, who has closely followed the proceedings in this case, told The Defender she hopes the Oct. 16 ruling “will hopefully set a precedent and help plaintiffs in similar cases around the world regarding jurisdiction,” in cases “where the defendant does not reside in the country of the plaintiff.”

“For parties who make claims against those involved in the implementation of the Great Reset and other international actions, such as the COVID-19 emergency response initiated by the WEF [World Economic Forum] and imposed on all U.N. member nations, I hope that this ruling provides an opportunity for others to follow suit,” Marie added.

Father of vaccine-injured plaintiff made ‘emotional plea’ to the court

At the Sept. 18 hearing, plaintiffs also delivered statements. According to Zebra Inspiratie, “One of the victims, who is very ill, was also given the opportunity to make a plea. She was no longer able to speak and was represented by her father. It was an emotional plea.”

Krikke said the plaintiff’s father told the court that his daughter, who was previously healthy, fell ill after getting the COVID-19 vaccine and could no longer speak, telling the judge that he “would really like to speak to Bill Gates directly” to ask him what happened to his daughter.

“After that, the judge was really quiet,” Krikke said.

The Oct. 18 ruling also addressed the plaintiffs’ claims about Gates’ role in the WEF’s “Great Reset” project.

“The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation is also affiliated with the World Economic Forum … an international organization whose statutory objective is to unite ‘leaders from business, governments, academia and society at large into a global community committed to improving the state of the world,’” the ruling states, adding:

“This is a project aimed at the total reorganization of societies in all countries that are members of the United Nations … as described by [WEF founder and executive chairman Klaus Schwab] in his book Covid-19: The Great Reset. …

“Characteristic of this political ideology is that this forced and planned change is presented as justified by pretending that the world is suffering from major crises that can only be solved by centralized, hard global intervention. One of these pretended major crises concerns the Covid-19 pandemic.”

The ruling also states, “The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation is affiliated with ‘Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance‘ … an international partnership in the field of vaccinations between various public and private entities.” "

Bill Gates, philanthropist and founder of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, recently filed “an incident” against the seven Dutch plaintiffs who want to take him to court because they accuse him of a “tortious act” as a participant in the project “The Great Reset”. The hearing was on September 18, 2024 in the District Court of Leeuwarden in Friesland (Netherlands) and the verdict was on October 16 2024.

Gates, who did not appear before the Leeuwarden District Court on September 18, but was represented by a lawyer from PelsRijcken, stated that he believes that a Dutch judge is not competent to judge him because Gates is an American citizen.

Both parties gave a plea in court that afternoon. One of the victims, who is very ill, was also given the opportunity to make a plea. She was no longer able to speak and was represented by her father. It was an emotional plea.

Basis of the claim

Hofstra et al. have implemented the Covid 19: The Great Reset Project. This is a project aimed at the total reorganization of societies in all countries that are members of the United Nations (hereinafter: UN), as described by Schwab in his book Covid-19: The Great Reset. In this reorganization, all factors that determine human life are made the subject of forced change by the WEF and the UN. Characteristic of this political ideology is that this forced and planned change is presented as justified by pretending that the world is suffering from major crises that can only be solved by centralized, tough global intervention.

One of these so-called major crises concerns the Covid-19 pandemic. Hofstra individually and as a group acted unlawfully towards the claimants by misleading them, in the context of the implementation of the Covid 19: The Great Reset Project, into administering Covid-19 injections, of which Hofstra knew, or at least should have known, that these injections were not safe and effective. The dispute

There is no treaty between the Netherlands and the United States that contains rules on jurisdiction in civil and commercial matters such as those at issue here. A Dutch court has ruled that billionaire and global vaccine proponent Bill Gates will face trial in the Netherlands over his involvement in misleading the public about the safety of COVID-19 vaccines.

The case, brought forward by seven plaintiffs who claim to have suffered vaccine injuries, marks a significant blow to Gates, who has been a key figure in pushing COVID-19 vaccination efforts worldwide.

According to Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf, the plaintiffs filed the lawsuit last year, naming Gates, along with former Dutch Prime Minister and current NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, members of the Dutch government’s COVID-19 Outbreak Management Team, Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla, and the Dutch state itself.

Gates is one of the “experts” who made several claims about the COVID experimental vaccines:

They said the vaccine would stop transmission.
They said the vaccinated could quit wearing a mask.
They said the vaccinated would not get sick.
They said the vaccinated were not going to die.

The plaintiffs argue that Gates, through his involvement with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and the World Economic Forum (WEF), was involved in a far-reaching agenda—referred to as “The Great Reset Project”—which sought to exploit the global crisis in order to implement sweeping societal changes, all under the guise of combating the pandemic.

According to the lawsuit, this agenda included pushing vaccines that were known to be unsafe.

The plaintiffs claim they were deceived into taking these dangerous injections, and the consequences have been devastating. Physical and mental injuries have allegedly plagued them since receiving the vaccine.

One of the seven plaintiffs has reportedly died since the initial filing, leaving six others to carry on the fight against Gates and his cohorts. These ordinary Dutch citizens, whose identities have been redacted from the court documents, say they trusted the vaccine narrative and are now paying the price.

The plaintiffs referenced various public statements made by Gates, including a widely viewed YouTube video from April 2020 titled “The Race for a COVID-19 Vaccine, Explained,” as part of their evidence.

Despite Gates’ attempts to evade the Dutch court’s jurisdiction by claiming that, as an American citizen, he should not be subject to legal proceedings in the Netherlands, the court rejected this argument, according to independent researcher and reporter Penny Marie.

On October 16, 2024, the Leeuwarden District Court announced that it does indeed have jurisdiction to hear the case against Gates.

The billionaire was represented in court by a lawyer from PelsRijcken but did not attend the September 18 hearing in person. His legal team’s defense crumbled when the court ruled in favor of the plaintiffs.

According to the judgment:

Article 7 paragraph 1 of the Code of Civil Procedure provides that if the Dutch court has jurisdiction over one of the defendants, it also has jurisdiction over other defendants involved in the same proceedings, provided that there is such a connection between the claims against the various defendants that reasons of expediency justify joint proceedings.

As the court understands, [redacted] et al. argue that Hofstra et al., and therefore Gates, are part of a worldwide group of individuals, legal entities and other entities that, in the context of the implementation of a project called Covid 19: The Great Reset, have misled people into taking Covid-19 injections, while they knew or should have known that these injections were not safe and effective. The court infers from Gates’ plea that Gates also understood [redacted] et al.’s position in this way. The court understands that [redacted] et al. further argue in this context that Gates committed this deception internationally through two videos that were published on YouTube in April and December 2020, in which Gates allegedly gave a false representation of the necessity of the Covid-19 injections and the safety of those injections respectively. To the extent that [redacted] et al. intended to state that any actions by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation should also be regarded as unlawful acts by Gates in this group context, the court disregards this in the context of this incident, as they have not substantiated this.

Based on the foregoing, this court has international jurisdiction to hear the claims against Gates on the basis of Article 7 paragraph l Rv.

The court ruled that Gates, who attempted to have the case dismissed or contest the court’s jurisdiction, was in the wrong. His legal challenge was dismissed, and as a result, he has been ordered to pay the legal fees of the plaintiffs.

According to court documents, Gates is required to cover the plaintiffs’ legal costs, which amount to €1,406.00 ($1,518.44). This includes:

€1,228.00 ($1,326.17) for the plaintiffs’ lawyer’s fees.
€178.00 ($192.23) in additional legal expenses.

Gates must pay these costs within 14 days, or face further penalties. Should Gates fail to comply within the designated timeframe, an additional €92.00, plus service costs, will be added to the total.

Gates will now have to respond to the allegations in Dutch court, with a new hearing set for November 27, 2024.

Special rights

The Kenyan government recognized the Gates Foundation and its employees as a charitable foundation with special rights in October. The new status meant that the foundation and its employees in Kenya suddenly enjoyed diplomatic immunity, much to the anger of many Kenyans. The foundation was also exempt from tax.


Dangerous precedent

Critics argue that these special rights set a dangerous precedent. Judge Bahati Mwamuye ruled that the immunity be suspended at least until February 5 next year, when the case will continue.

The High Court of Kenya has struck a critical blow against the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, suspending a series of highly controversial legal immunities and privileges recently awarded to it in the country. The Kenyan court’s decision has reignited debates over the interference of super-wealthy philanthrocapitalists in the affairs of African nations. Such individuals frequently act as unaccountable power brokers, bypassing democratic processes while advancing their personal interests. The Gates Foundation has been widely accused of having a disproportionate influence on public policy in developing countries, and of prioritizing its own agenda over local needs.

The case is slated to return to court in February 2025, for further deliberations. It brings to mind the idea that the puppet masters (like Bill Gates who of course founded Microsoft), Soros, Schwab, etc. have been planning for and hoping for the extinction of most of the human race by natural and/or natural means asap.
We are told that they presume to justify their actions and do not hold themselves responsible for tragic outcomes because they are issuing warnings and making (very doubtful) suggestions as to how people can survive in spite of the odds stacked so heavily against them.
Of course, a lot of the information is actually disinformation (like that old disproven theory that global warming is due to co2), a lot of it is just plain ridiculous, and all of it seems to have been created to obfuscate the truth and misdirect any energies that could be spent successfully on creating more positive scenarios.
Some of the narrators seem to actually be sadistically enjoying the possibilies of annihilation and extinction they describe, and it's easy to imagine Gates now that he's "retiring" sitting back and watching all the disasters he has been helping to create unfold, rubbing his hands with pure psychopathic pleasure.

I wonder if the real agenda is to terrify people and thus get them to accept more government control and surveillance and repression? Vegetarian products are very popular in my country, and there is a wide variety available, like the Fry's brand. However, they are not cheap ... it is cheaper to buy a pack of chicken and make a meal than to buy a pack of delicious Fry's sausages or schnitzels to make a meal. Gates could afford to invest in existing vegetarian brands (and there are plenty) to make them far more affordable and thus more accessible. Maybe Americans would still not be interested, but they are a small percentage of the world's population.

It is just my experience, but only the wealthy are motivated by virtue signalling when making a purchase. For most people ... is it affordable, delicious, filling is as far as they go, and some might choose a personally healthier option if they can afford it.

Supposedly cows are a disaster for the planet because of flatulence (and?)? The age of dinosaurs must have been really bad for the planet.

I don't trust Gates and his motivations, and after his entanglement with Epstein, I don't trust his judgement either.

More than half of all donations from the influential Gates Foundation to the WHO between 2000 and 2024 went to vaccination programs and polio, while other important health themes remained heavily underfunded.

The research, presented this week in BMJ Global Health, casts a critical light on how funding streams determine the WHO's priorities. The organization, which is supposed to operate independently, in practice appears to be heavily dependent on external donors. And these donors have their own preferences.

Billions for vaccines

In total, the Gates Foundation donated 5.5 billion dollars to the WHO between 2000 and 2024, of which more than 3.2 billion went to polio. 2.9 billion was spent on vaccine projects. For comparison: only 0.2 percent of the money was spent on water and sanitation facilities, and 0.7 percent on strengthening health systems. And yet these themes are high on the WHO's priority list.

The figures also show that non-communicable diseases, such as cardiovascular diseases, cancer, and diabetes, are being sidelined, even though they account for 74 percent of all deaths worldwide, three-quarters of which occur in low- and middle-income countries.

Donors decide

The WHO receives its funding from two sources: mandatory contributions from member states and voluntary donations from countries and organizations. But nowadays, as much as 90 percent of the WHO's budget comes from those voluntary contributions, and almost all of that money is 'earmarked.' This means it can only be spent on specific projects determined by the donors themselves.

The researchers warn that this system undermines the WHO's independence. "The mandatory contributions from member states are far below the level needed to finance the WHO's strategic goals. As a result, the organization is forced to rely on voluntary contributions from donors," they write. "The consequence is that themes in which donors are interested receive a lot of resources, while other crucial projects fail to get off the ground or remain understaffed."

What if the US leaves?

The situation becomes even more complicated now that the United States, currently the largest funder of the WHO, has announced its intention to withdraw from the organization in January 2026. The US has long been the biggest contributor to the WHO, followed by the Gates Foundation (with 9.5 percent of the total budget since 2010), Germany, and the United Kingdom. If the American contribution disappears, it will only increase the power of private players like the Gates Foundation. This will place the WHO even further under the influence of parties pursuing their own agendas, however well-intentioned they may be.

Nevertheless, the researchers point out that the blame does not lie solely with the Gates Foundation. "We must not forget that it is the member states themselves who have failed to increase their mandatory contributions in line with the WHO's growing needs," they write. "As a result, the organization is effectively forced to depend on voluntary donations."

The WHO has previously warned that the current financing model is unsustainable in the long term. Without structural reforms, the organization remains vulnerable to the influence of major donors. This severely limits the WHO's ability to improve health worldwide.

It leads me to the question: why spend so much on Polio Vaccines? What are they getting out of this research to further their nefarious agenda? One of the biggest heroes (debatable, I agree...) was a WW2 US president with polio -- quite an effective way to shape human thoughts on the polio subject. To this day many mainstreamers' "pro-vaccination" argument is that the polio vaccine saved lives. Most people don't dare to contradict this hypothesis.

5/26/23- Peter Flaherty, Chairman of the National Legal and Policy Center, was interviewed by Terrance Bates on America's Voice about a trespassing charge being dropped after he was arrested at the Berkshire Hathaway shareholders' meeting on May 6, 2023. Prior to the interview, Flaherty released the following statement: The trespassing charge has been dropped, but I never should have been arrested. Nor should I have been handcuffed, fingerprinted, brought to jail, and detained for three hours. Berkshire Hathaway’s silencing of me is an ominous precedent for the rights of shareholders in public companies that cannot be allowed to stand. I did not just wander into the Berkshire shareholders meeting, nor did the incident occur during a question-and-answer session. I was a scheduled speaker, whose name appeared on the agenda, to speak in support of Proposal #8 for an independent chair. The proposal appeared in the proxy and for weeks shareholders had been voting on it. It was the subject of a detailed proxy memo we filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission on April 21. As far as I know, the arrest of a shareholder during a proposal presentation has never before occurred at the annual meeting of a public company in the United States. Shareholder activists of the past such as Wilma Soss (the basis for the Carol Burnett “cleaning lady” character) and Evelyn Y. Davis often challenged and certainly annoyed CEOs, but their microphones were never cut and they were certainly never arrested. I have spoken at the annual meetings of dozens of public companies over the past 19 years. My demeanor at the Berkshire meeting was no different from any other. There was no reason to throw me out except that I came too close to the truth. Additional revelations about Bill Gates and Jeffrey Epstein since the meeting confirm the importance of the issue I sought to raise, namely the reputational risk to Berkshire Hathaway by having one individual hold both the Chairman and CEO positions, especially if that person is so closely identified with particular causes and personalities. The whole point of the shareholder proposal process is to allow shareholders critical of management an avenue to change corporate policy. To simply silence and arrest a shareholder who disagrees with management stands the whole concept of having public shareholders on its head. If Warren Buffett thinks that since he owns 15% of Berkshire shares, that he can act with impunity, he is mistaken. Shareholders have rights, and I intend to enforce mine.
