My apologies if this is in the wrong place, i did review the various sub forums and thought this to be the best place to put my maiden thread. Naturally please move to the correct location if i have in fact overlooked where this should have been originally posted.

I have had a recurring dream a number of times and never really felt the need to talk openly about it to others as after all dreams are just dreams.

The recurring dream is as follows:

It is night time and strangely the skies are red, the sort of red which could be a glow from cities burning, it certainly seems a lot darker than sunset/rise red. I am led to the beach, and i notice that there are other people there however their heads are bandaged as to not to be able to see where they are being guided to.

I am told it would be best that i cover up also, i ask why and then i am told because the light from within the ships would initially be damaging to my eyes, i ask what ships? i am then pointed towards the ships hovering over the coastline and clearly see people being moved onto the ships.

And that’s it dream stops.

I have had some other goings on over the years, which are a little confusing at times, but i don’t want to comment about them in this thread, i will do so over the coming months i guess.

If anybody could interpret such a dream, or has had a similar experience i would be interested to know their thoughts and opinions.

Thanks for taking the time to read my thread.

Don't understand dreams, but welcome to the forum. General Discussion, and not this sub-area, has more traffic, so it may have been a better place to post this.

I am no expert when it comes to dream interpretation, however I do a fair amount of my own and for friends/family. That being said, please disregard anything that doesn't resonate. Dreams are very personal. The metaphors and symbols, however universal they may seem, are rooted in your own mind and experience -- which is to say the (your) context is key to understanding. Everything in the dream represents the self. EG your mother in a dream may represent the aspects of your mother in the self or may take on the greater context as the mother of all (Earth, feminine principle and so forth - context is key).

In some cases, dreams have to do with unresolved issues. Other times, they are preparation for coming events. I have had 2 or 3 that came to pass in remarkable detail. They key is to write them down - this will allow you to see the dreams in greater context at a later date and also prevent the insertion of ideas/events into the dream that didn't actually occur.

Some questions:
1) What does the following represent (think in terms of your mind)? As an example, if in your dream you are sitting on the porch of a log cabin in the woods, it might represent that serene and calm place in your mind where you find yourself at peace.
It is night time and strangely the skies are red, the sort of red which could be a glow from cities burning, it certainly seems a lot darker than sunset/rise red.
Darkness represents absence or that which is without. The added contrast of red/orange - red being representative of red ray or the earthly connection to physical life (blood and the sort) and orange representative of self-realization (coming out of the fire of life) - may indicate fear. You may have a lurking catalyst you are unprepared for or unresolved fear.

2) I am led to the beach, and i notice that there are other people there however their heads are bandaged as to not to be able to see where they are being guided to.
A somewhat standardized definition of a beach in dreams is the border between the emotional self (water) and physical/rational self (land). The state of the water may be an indicator of your emotional state - turbulent or calm etc. The injured/bandaged/blind people may represent those incomplete and lost (unable to see) aspects of self (unresolved injuries, damage, fears), gathering to be healed or released from their state of misery/unconsciousness.

3) I am told it would be best that i cover up also, i ask why and then i am told because the light from within the ships would initially be damaging to my eyes, i ask what ships? i am then pointed towards the ships hovering over the coastline and clearly see people being moved onto the ships. It's possible that the ships (vessels of passage through the sea of emotion) on the horizon are harbingers of a journey of the unconscious to realization. Perhaps the higher self is preparing you for a release of unresolved, unconscious thoughts/memories.

You would need to apply these ideas to your life issues to gain clarity. Hope this helps!

I may add more later if thoughts arise - so check back.

hello,I liked reading your description of your dream.
I used to read dream interpretation books/dictionaries etc and after dissecting my own dreams for many years came to the conclusion that the books were just books that filled a niche or a need, and my dreams were just analysis of the days activities, thoughts and experiences.... stuff that was on my mind and then placed in my dream scenarios and dream places.
I dont put much faith in dream interpretation by others,I believe if you look at your dream with insight of yourself, you will soon find out why you dream what you dream.

OMG Fopa ! I had a similar dream about 5 months ago. I rarely remember my dreams, but for some reason this particular dream has been haunting me. I was at my neighbor's house across the street when it started to get very windy and the sound of thunder could be heard in the distance.
As I began to walk back to my house I looked up at the sky and down the street and I saw these large luminous red and orange clouds filling the sky. I ran in terror to my house to find flashlights and the like knowing that the power would go out. One thing is for sure I will never forget how the sky looked, red and orange and very menacing.

Yes the sky colour is certainly something i have never seen before and will never forget, very vivid to say the least.

Ran across this thread by accident.
I am currently detoxing from an innocuos enough substance I will not mention here. It has been, I think 6 days or so.
I began dreaming again last night. Haven't had a single remembered dream in many years. The dream isn't important, what I remembered is. The main reason I have been using this substance is so that I don't dream my constantly recurring dream. I am afraid now they will begin anew.
That scares me more than I can say...
Thanks for the thread
Peace
