From Cosmopolitan
Lockdown as a result of the coronavirus pandemic has meant adapting to lots of changes in all aspects of life. And today one very, very big change has officially come into force: it is now illegal for two (or more) people from different households to have sex.
Whatever you saw for the future in 2020, it probably wasn't this. But alas, here we are, accepting such a previously unfathomable law without question because of what it means for the greater good.
The new coronavirus regulations that have come into force today (1 June) see a number of amendments being made to The Health Protection (Coronavirus, Restrictions) Regulations 2020 bill. As well as extending socially distant, outdoor meet-ups to groups of six, it cracks down on indoor meetings between more than one household.
As human rights barrister Adam Wagner posted on Twitter last night: "From tomorrow sex between two (or more) people in a private place who do not live in the same household is a 'gathering' between 2 or more people and is therefore illegal."
The wording specifically outlaws indoor gatherings "when two or more people are present together in the same place in order to engage in any form of social interaction with each other, or to undertake any other activity with each other."
"Any other activity", eh. We know what they're getting at there.
It is not yet certain how a person breaking this law could be prosecuted. People have been issued fines for breaching lockdown laws up until now, so it's likely this will hold the same punishment, but specifics haven't been confirmed.
There are a small number of exceptions to this ban on indoor gatherings between households (you can check out the list here) but none of them are likely to fly if you're caught having sex with someone outside of your household. Sorry about that.
Although it's long been pretty obvious that sex (or any physical contact at all) is completely off the cards between two people who don't live together while the pandemic continues, that doesn't take away from how hard a time it is for people who are missing physical affection. It's especially difficult for people who are in relationships but aren't living with their partners. Although they can now meet outside, it's still deemed too risky to touch or kiss, which can feel endlessly frustrating.
But the more robustly we honour the government's rules, hopefully the quicker the trace of the virus will reduce so it's safe enough to resume normal life. Let's try to look on the bright side.

Meanwhile, in Switzerland...
Sex Workers Get Back To Business In Switzerland But Told To Social Distance

As Switzerland relaxes its lockdown measures, it reserves a special place for sex workers, which can resume from 6 June. But sports, including boxing and ballroom dancing will remain forbidden.

Sex work is legal in Switzerland, where around 20,000 such workers are registered. Red light districts exist in Geneva and Zurich, though are less famous than Amsterdam's De Wallen, which remains closed.
"From 6 June, strip clubs may also reopen and services offered by sex workers may resume," the Swiss government announced on Wednesday (27 May).
There is even special advice to help brothels get back to business in the age of coronavirus. Where advice for business in Switzerland is to "leave doors open if possible to avoid touching them", the sex workers' industry body, Prokore, acknowledges that "in order to safeguard the privacy of sex workers and customers, room doors in companies cannot be left open."

Well, I would not have been able even to comprehend such a dictate if I had not had a talk with a relative recently.
She masks, wears gloves, and publicly shames those who do not. It took about an hour to peal away the rhetoric and explain the facts. At the end, though no longer militant about it, she said she prefers her rose colored glasses and will continue her tirade despite common sense and even despite now knowing better...
Another in the family I spoke to this weak, considers herself woke, and is to a large extent (who once long ago thanked me for all I had taught her), but is a fanatical environmentalist. She belongs to a bunch of online environmental groups and sometimes even goes to rallies. We had words this week in which I wanted to enlighten her by dispelling the rhetoric and offering some facts. She said she can't talk about it with me. And that was it. No thanks to facts, I like my virtue signalling and ineffective environmental agenda of windmills and solar panels and the 1200 plus biomass energy facilities that are burning the forests down, since there are not enough wood chips to make a buck.
So no, I'm not surprised in the least.
Crazy is as crazy does, and all that.
Hope you feeling better, Mike.

Isn’t the point here that 2 or more people from different households can’t ignore social distancing by being in the same house if they hadn’t previously been living together? The headline could also say two people can’t bake a cake together, give each other haircuts or eat a meal together in the same house...the point being social distancing is not being observed. I’m not saying social distancing SHOULD be required or is even beneficial, but as long it is required, sex is just one of many things two people who don’t live in the same household shouldn’t be doing. To lead by saying sex is illegal is on the order of click bait, I think. Maybe I am missing something here....? Is it considered ILLEGAL to not social distance...I think it depends on locale.

So... if it's illegal for people from different household to have sex at anyone's place... does it make it legal for people of the same household to have sex between themselves... you know... in-breading, incest, sexual abuse of kids, etc... ?

This plays along nicely with the budding 'sex robot' industry that has been promoted heavily in the last couple of years, all part of dehumanising us, breaking down the family unit and creating fear and mistrust of one another.

Actually it crossed my mind that HORRIFICALLY, this might seem like excuse of sexual abuse in the mind of abusers? This latest development is literally blowing my mind.
In the face of extremely strong protest, the governments are just merrily spinning the tightening web. The contact tracing strategies will identify all the criminals visiting two by two. This is absurd except it is happening and in the mean time, people are only able to be specifically outraged (as in specifically about "black lives")while we are all being impaled by the idea that "WE must all follow the orders given FOR THE COMMON GOOD".Deviance will not be tolerated. People cannot communicate their differences of opinion without it seeming to be "You care only about..."There is no common ground.
The sadness I feel today comes after talking with my best friend yesterday. She is absolutely FUSED to the idea that masks are necessary. I tried to talk about reasons they may be unhealthy and unhelpful. An edge crept into her voice as she declared she knows ALL about the subject and masks are NECESSARY.
I feel a little lonely where I am now. however I also feel I am living in proof that the world has cracked to pieces and we MUST stake out own claims of PEACE and stand there. if we do, we can be daily in a peaceful state but we cannot STOP our efforts to focus there. It is a difficult practice when everything is shattering including friendships of years.

Soros and friends have managed to turn the "Left" into a religion. People who used to question authority no longer do so, and refuse to discuss it. They don't want to be excommunicated.

There are a lot of similar articles on the June 1st, amendment to the The Health Protection (Coronavirus, Restrictions) Regulations 2020 bill. It’ll be interesting to see how many babies are born March, 2021. What will the governments do with the newly borns?
And like in the baby boom years of the 1950’s, will there be many babies born since the lock down began two months ago? 2021 bundles of joy on Christmas Eve, New Years, and Valentine’s day.

What was the baby boom of the 1950s?
Known as the "baby boom," this population expansion took place between the years 1946 and 1964, with the peak occurring in 1957. The elevated birthrate, unparalleled in American history, added more than 50 million babies by the end of the 1950s.

The ones who have volunteered for trials of new vaccine have been told no intercourse.
The conspiracy theory is that they are frightened deformed babies might be born.
Im afraid that conspiracy theories have a way of becoming fact.
Thalidomide babies and perhaps Autism, thats a probably so.

Might act as birth control, in many cases, if nothing else. What is really needed according to co-morbidites though, is girth control.

My thoughts were when people, young and old, are told "no", they'll buck the system out of spite.
Another thought was with the imposed isolation coupled with boredom, people will find ways to get together just for the thrill of a rockin' adventure.
If income is next to nill or because of no job, there's a chance they'll skip the protection, or live on the edge for an additional thrill.
Raging hormones run the show for teens and young adults. Play now... pay later.

#7 The U.S. government shutdown?
While shameful moments in American history don't automatically qualify as natural disasters, many in the Washington, D.C. area thought 2013's federal government shutdown had a similar baby boom effect. Like the post-Sandy spike, the evidence here is anecdotal, and it's not like being furloughed prevents you from doing anything else but "being" with your significant other.
Even so, Sibley Memorial Hospital in Washington, D.C., saw an additional three births per day in July, and Virginia Hospital Center in Arlington delivered 99 more babies in April, May and June 2014 than it did during the same time in 2013, according to ABC
