People who wear masks when alone
People who say "forward slash"
People who say "hone in" or "they passed mustard"
People who say "literally" when they mean "virtually"

People who wear masks in cars.
People who wear masks at home.
People who kiss other people's shoes (such as the pope)
People who berate elderly people, and anyone who disagrees with them, such as in this video :

A Person not prepared to wait, impatient and inclined to jump to conclusions before the full data is in !
Someone that "needs" the hustle and bustle of today's "modern society" as if it is their life's blood, before they believe they are "Free and Alive" again !
Somebody that is prepared to endanger others to feed their ego !

People who have passionate beliefs/opinions based on group think or hearsay with no first hand knowledge.
People who have knowledge and understanding but lack wisdom, I call them educated fools.

To extend on Norman's sentiment ...
People themselves aren't "idiots" -- but people can sure do idiotic things now and again ... sometimes a lot.
Proper use of language, in my opinion, could be a great tool for reducing idiocy.

I've spent a good deal of my life being an idiot and doing and saying idiotic things but as time goes by I'm getting less idiotic ..😁 if I had to give one simp!e,unpolitical and idiotic example of today's idiocy it would be litter droppers. I won't waffle about the stupid lazy environmental effect it has on mother earth as all you good people here know this. It just gets me mad 😠..tis all.

Yes, I quite agree. I walk every day and along the way pick up litter. Years ago I used to get mad at the people that would litter but now I am more perplexed with the people that just walk by litter and do nothing about it. I am also concerned that some will actually thank you for doing it but won't do it themselves. If everyone would just take a little responsibility (on all fronts) the world would be a much better place.

Gosh it would make such a difference wouldn't it if people just stopped to pick up a bit of litter when they are out and about ..it's totally inexcusable ..anyone can do it no matter what class of creed your from. When I recently picked litter from the field behind my house a dog walker approached me and asked me if I was 'doing that for charity '? .. 🤦

The insult that's often used on the Netflix show Stranger Things is to call someone a "mouth breather"... i.e. an idiot.

Someone who asks for your help for major renovations, I helped them with plans foc,
and in the ‘finessing’ of their home, which you encouraged to individualise, stole your individual house number design, and custom external lighting fixtures. I didn’t care about ‘house envy’, but to diminutise my individual creativity is an insult, a very rude unthinking neighbour, almost so childish that when you were 12 they bought the same perfume, the same clothes, the same make-up....
These great friends are really ‘p’ing’ me off, but have been brilliant to all of us for many years. Yet, are turning into idiots....
Yes, I am the idiot who cares about my special things in my life, they are so insignificant that whingeing about stupid neighbours is ridiculous.I am unique, creative, and very special to my family, so who cares that folk emulate and flatter one’s creativity, as all my life folk have done that, as being a designer is par for the course. Apologies for being so unapologetic...

People who start threads on what defines an idiot with the intent of mortifying their fellow human beings in a time when we should all band together, and then illustrate their own idiocy by demonstrating that they don't even understand the rules of punctuation in their native tongue.

I've come to learn that everyone has a gift in something, it always floors me when I have that happen right in front of me then I am reminded of the word humble and humility - my own. Those are my moments, NOW, should the question be raised what do you think of people who get nominated for the darwin awards? Well highly ingenious on one end , but to their own ambition they just push things a bit to far from the law of physics!

Which one did I get you on? "Hone in?" "Forward slash?" It's OK. We're all here to learn

And what kind of police officer would you be, then? Are you from the IQ Police? Or from the Human Validity Police perhaps? Can we see some identification, perhaps?
...] who say things like "we should all band together"
Oh, you prefer division, strife and war instead? Well, I guess that explains why you started this thread. Not that I didn't suspect that already, but it's always nice to have it in writing. You know, for posterity and all that.

Actually, it's the name and ─ to a much greater degree even ─ the intent of this thread that you "got me on". Like a bunch of schoolyard bullies rolling the dice in the morning on who they're going to be bullying for the remainder of the day.
And by the way, given that you bring up the forward slash, not that it got my goat ─ far from it ─ but when dealing with novices in the field of computer technology, it is actually quite important to let them know the difference between a forward slash and a backslash, which they will often simply call "a slash" as well.
Just for your edification, of course. You are after all "here to learn", aren't you?
