I'm curious as to what the mail in ballots for your state look like. In WA state, our party affiliation is indicated on the OUTSIDE of the envelope. Election officias say it is to "protect anonymity.. (wtf) ... If you are INDEPENDENT, then your vote, simply, is not counted.

To my point,, I've heard of 'volunteers' throwing out stacks and stacks of ballots.

Our names and addresses are recorded and our party affiliation is required.. in what universe is that keeping things PRIVATE?

What do you think?

Death by a thousand tick boxes.

Computers are morphing into ATM ( cash in the wall ) consoles too.

How dare they insert tickbox choices into the process chain of getting important stuff done. That's not a transaction, that's brute force tyranny.

Heads I win, tails you lose. Terms and conditions may apply.

They can't patent reality. They have to tweak it to own it.

Party affiliation is required, for the first time. And you can not vote outside of your party affiliation. AND this will all become public information?! Names and addresses!?!?

AND election officials insist (while grinning) that this is all done yo protect our anonymity!!!

Look, I realize that they think we're dumb. But now they're just openly laughing at us. What a mess..

Also, everyone seems to be quick to point out that these changes were for THIS election only. Everything goes back to normal after this. ???

I just wonder how it is in other states in America... WA state is truly strange to me.

If you wanted to design a ballot that is open to fraud this would be how to do it. One of the biggest lies here is that the parties will have access to your name, party affiliation and address for 60 days only. Once they have that info they will keep it forever and solict votes and donation for all of time. If you wanted to design a ballot that favored one political party over another by knocking out the independent voters this would be how to do it. It is brazenly clear that these ballots were designed by the political party in power without giving any thought to fair and honest elections.

In Michigan, you have to vote all one party in the Primary, but that is not designated on the outside of the envelope.

I just love (sarcasm) how everyone passes the buck. 'It wasn't me, was just following...' (that or claiming ignorance)

It's seen time and time again when condemnation finally comes down hard on supposed leaders. Isn't that how it rolled after WWII for the citizens of countries like Germany?

Nothing new under the sun, history repeating before the eye/ I.

This a article on a primary election . You have to state what party you want to vote for, so you can't cross party lines and influence the other side. This not a ballot for the presidential vote.If you are independent you can't for a party cause your not in either. This is common sense voting people don't make something out of nothing

It would be common sense if everyone was playing straight.

But they're not, obviously.

Handing over political control freaks advanced warning of how you will vote, at a time like this, is nuts. It hugely expands their opportunity to make your vote, if it's not one they like, fail to get counted.

Primary election, you can change how you vote in the general if you want.or show up at your polling place and watch your vote being counted.

Indeed. As it turns out, I just got my general election ballot in the mail today. There are no polling places in WA. Just mail in ballots. This state is pretty much a Democrat state. The national elections are called, before our "polls" close. Not that our cores don't count.... (Ish)

Yes, now ballots will be monetized and weaponized.
We are all a commodity to be bought and sold.
Nothing new.

By the way, I opted out decades ago.
I do not vote.
Libertarian at heart and in practice.
