A meme is:

noun:
an image, video, piece of text, etc., typically humorous in nature, that is copied and spread rapidly by Internet users, often with slight variations.

I thought a thread for just memes would be a good idea. We are in the midst of what many call "an information war". Memes are playing a big role on the front line, on social media particularly and other platforms. They don't always shift perceptions, that's not what they're really for, but they do have the power to make someone ask a question that they wouldn't have asked before. Memes are a potent tool in the modern truther's arsenal.

However, steer clear of anything overtly political, or potentially divisive. Nothing crude or offensive either. Keep to those memes that comment on trends, lifestyle, and society in general, whether positive or negative, humorous or insightful: something that speaks to you that you want to share.

They could be an image with no text, or text - like a quotation - with no image. They come in many formats. If you want to search for memes, type "subject of choice + meme" into Google images. You'll find many there. You can always make your own, too. I've done a number with photoshop. MS Paint is also good.

This is incredibly difficult for me to do but I feel that it's necessary to come forward and expose the type of person that Trump will select for the Supreme Court of the great country.

I was raped by whoever Trump selects to replace Ruth Bader Ginsburg for the Supreme Court.

It was in the 1990s and the details are a little fuzzy. We were at a party and I distinctly remember this person coming on to me and rubbing up against me.

I told this person I wasn't interested but whoever it was persisted and when we were alone forced himself or herself on me, pulling off my clothes and penetrating me while I constantly said, "No!"

I haven't come forward yet because I was ashamed and afraid. This person is clearly very powerful, but now that this person is being considered for the Supreme Court, I think it's necessary to let people know who they're dealing with, especially after Trump picked a literal serial killer last time.

And the Soros money doesn't hurt.

But this stain on my soul does hurt. And it will be with me forever — or at least until after the confirmation hearing — the very painful confirmation hearing.

Well I'm a liberal at heart - what you would call a classic liberal (of the 1960s and 70s ilk). But as with any progressive social movement liberalism was infiltrated, contaminated, until it morphed into something that more closely resembles fascism. Orwellian-level control seems to be the goal. They want obedient workers, not critical thinkers. It began with political correctness, continued with identity politics, now revisionism/cancel culture is in full swing.

One of the things that was cancelled was humour, a critical tool for an effective meme. There's your block.

However, memeing is hard. I haven't lost my sense of humour, but that doesn't mean I can tell a good joke. That's an entirely different skill.

well, first it's "the left can't meme" and I don't think it's limited to liberals but this new "neoliberal SJW" type of person because the majority of their concepts and ideas appear to be planted and not organically created (thus the lack of creativity continues) as they do not have personal belief, but a curated "group belief" that they must adhere to or face the wrath of their own "team".

I would love to learn Russian, the way you can arrange words to change meaning (fluid sentence structure) is very interesting and I imagine it is why there are so many profound Russian authors.

If you know some Spanish, it makes it a lot easier to learn Russian, and the other way around. it's very easy to learn Spanish if you know Russian, lots of similar sounds and words.

From friend's experiences, i've heard they can learn Russian very fast if they already know Spanish or have at least some knowledge about it, but for me it was Russian->Spanish->English, so i could not really tell :)
