View Full Version : A World in Cognitive Dissonance Turmoil

That's a world turned upside down and mirrored right to left in which snow defines the color black (http://projectavalon.net/forum4/showthread.php?97897-Dark-Journalist-A-Six-Part-Series-on-The-New-Age-Deep-State&p=1155357&viewfull=1#post1155357)...
An example I posted somewhere else:
[...]
... forced a person to cooperate... ... right then and there I felt the endless fall into the bottomless pit of oxymoronic cognitive dissonance, in the pit of my stomach...
See... complete "common core" sense...

A little more: (and anyone reading this, please post more examples of the bewildering contradictions and anomalies all around us)
"Black Lives Matter", claiming to be "anti-racist", is a racist organization. (And it is. Yet many well-meaning people still support it in the name of fighting "racism".)
"All Lives Matter" is branded as hate speech.
BLM and Antifa rioters attack bystanders capturing video because the "protesters" don't want their message of protest to be spread.
Many in the US want to defund the police in order to make America safer. (Read that again slowly!)
We have our freedoms taken away to protect us all. (From something! But it's not clear what.)
The US has a presidential candidate who's clearly cognitively impaired. Yet tens of millions will still vote for him. (Is this the first time in the history of any nation? I suspect it is.)
The Twitter account (a platform of supposedly open communication) of the sitting US President is frequently censored. One wonders if some US TV networks might refuse to air a Presidential Broadcast to the people.
Stock Markets round the world were soaring to record high levels, despite massive economic and supply-chain problems, and record numbers of unemployment. (But note: there are signs that the bubble is bursting, and the markets are now falling as sharp investors take their profits before the cognitive dissonance all dissipates.)

And one more. (I better stop soon, I think)
In Colombia, a man is held down by police and tasered to death. It was captured on video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YNL2OTsF9SM).
Black Lives Matter protesters pay no attention. Maybe they don't speak Spanish. Maybe it doesn't count because it was in another country. Or maybe the man, a Hispanic, wasn't "black".

A more simple and often overlooked view is that cognitive dissonance also occurs in spirituality. Alan Watts makes light of something in one of his lectures, and that is the idea that say, to meditate, have a peaceful experience or what have you, that one "must learn to relax" or "must attain inner peace". The urgency in the term "must" is the polar opposite of the lack of any urgency required to "relax" or be in "peace".
Yet spirituality is still often attempted to be taught within such terms.

Cognitive dissonance seems to have the paradoxical effect of causing a DOUBLING DOWN of one's initial accepted beliefs?
*Another 9/11 Anniversary has come and gone and Building 7 was not destroyed by fire and more new info has been revealed from structural experts. 9/11 was the slippery slope on which our citizens rights began cascading into a void. But the "same old narrative" is STILL intact.
lthough I am an Electrical Engineer and a practicing Anesthesiologist, I consider myself to be primarily an Epistemologist. In other words, I am most interested in how we, as individuals, know what we know. It doesn’t require much inquiry to see that most of us adopt narratives largely from what we have been told. Conscious Media, or the dissemination of information devoid of bias so that it may be considered openly and objectively is therefore vitally important to any society that is interested in the compassionate pursuit of truth.
