Dear fellow Avalonians, my son Scott Harris was aboard the Gulf Livestock 1 that capsized and sunk in the east china sea on the 2nd September during Typhoon Maysack when the engine (again) stopped. If any of you have contacts in the Japanese islands, Taiwan, South Korea or China would you mind circulating this poster please. (this one in Japenese)

On board crew and missing are 2 Australians, 2 Kiwis and 36 Fillipino men. It is an international maritime disaster

2 Fillpino's survived and a third crew was found to have died. We have reasons to believe that all remaining 40 crew managed to get into a life boat and are either beached up somewhere or have drifted out into the Pacific. Am happy to talk to this if anyone interested.

The SAR team have not managed to get to the boat (despite divers being used) and I think they are not even sure of the exact vessel coordinates. Apparently you cannot dive to 1.1km which is the depth where the distress signal went off. We have the distress signal coordinates but think it drifted a wee way before capsizing. Both Scott and Will said they were in the Yellow sea so that a big way off.

Our politicians are not doing too much to help in terms of locating the vessel, the black box or assisting in SAR attempts. Would any one here know of somewith with one of those bubble things that can get down deep?

If you might have a spare prayer for the men we would be grateful, If anyone has great ideas in these situation i welcome your suggestion. We have some satelite imagery, but its a really long shot.

Here is an online petition people can sign asking Australian & New Zealand authorities to resume search efforts:

https://www.change.org/p/australian-department-of-foreign-affairs-resume-the-search-for-gulf-livestock-1-survivors

Update - found Sky News Australia broadcast reminding the Australian government of their responsibility to keep the search going for the 40 missing people. It's from 14 September 2020

relevant part starts at :40 second mark

I am praying for the safe return of your son & the entire crew

So very sorry. That's a really terrible thing.

Just a couple of comments, if that's okay: :flower:

Yes, 1.1 km (3,600 ft) is way too deep for divers. A submersible could get down there, but they're expensive to operate and it seems unlikely one would be deployed... the authorities might well judge that there was no real justification. (The only good reason I can think of is to check how many lifeboats were missing.)

Men in a lifeboat, if it's been well-maintained, could last a long time at sea in reasonable weather conditions and even longer on a small Pacific island somewhere. But they should be sending out a radio distress signal, of course, if their equipment was working. In pure survival terms, the challenge is always fresh water.
Here are two encouraging articles: the record for survival in a liferaft is 133 days. (Longer still in one instance, in a small boat that was crippled and drifting: 438 days.)

Lots of prayers at this time.when I read this boat apparently capsized due to a rogue wave with almost 6000 cattle on board and all the crew . So so so sad in so many ways. Again lots of prayers .

Hi Witchy1, not sure if this is your thing or not but have you considered getting help from a good Remote Viewer?

Unfortunately I can't steer you in the direction of one, but perhaps someone in the PA community could?

I know it's something I would at least try if I was in your situation.

🙏🏻💖 Blessings and prayers that your lovely son Scott and his companions,
are found safe and sound.💖🙏🏻

Change.org sounds hopeful:
“The information we have from the last found survivor (via the Australian Consular Emergency Centre) is that all crew members except three were on the bridge in life jackets, ready to enter life vessels.”
