SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Utah Department of Public Safety helicopter was assisting Utah Division of Wildlife Resource officers counting bighorn sheep when the crew spotted something mysterious from above.

The discovery was made Wednesday.

“One of the biologists is the one who spotted it and we just happened to fly directly over the top of it,” said pilot Bret Hutchings. “He was like, ‘Whoa, whoa, whoa, turn around, turn around!’ And I was like, ‘what.’ And he’s like, ‘There’s this thing back there – we’ve got to go look at it!’”

The crew circled back and landed the helicopter to take a closer look. They couldn’t believe their eyes.

Tucked in a red rock cove was a shiny metal monolith protruding from the ground.

“I’d say it’s probably between 10 and 12 feet-high,” Hutchings said. “We were kind of joking around that if one of us suddenly disappears, then the rest of us make a run for it.”

Hutchings said it didn’t look like it was dropped into the ground from above. It was firmly planted there.

“We were, like, thinking is this something NASA stuck up there or something. Are they bouncing satellites off it or something?” Hutchings questioned.

That said, the crew decided it didn’t appear there was any scientific purpose to it. Hutchings said it looked as if it was manmade – perhaps more of an art form than any kind of alien lifeform.

What's interesting about this monolith is that it's 3-sided (i.e. with an equilateral triangle cross-section). And it might also never have been found. It may be impossible to know how long it's been there.

The possibilities seem to be:


It's an eccentric piece of art. (And things a little like that do exist elsewhere, but usually for people to see.)
It serves a human purpose that's quite unknown.
It's theoretically possible that it doesn't have a human origin, though Occam's Razor suggests that's unlikely.

I do hope the BLM leaves it there. But it'd be very interesting...

Okay, I estimated that. Assuming it's 4 meters high (including the part that's buried) and 70 cm to a side, the volume would be about 1 cubic meter. So here's how heavy it might be:


Steel: 8000 kg / 8.8 tons.
Titanium: 4500 kg / 5 tons.
Aluminum: 2500 kg / 2.8 tons.

So, that means a helicopter — and not a tiny one, either. Definitely not a horse or a 4x4 rock crawler.

As if 2020 couldn’t get any more bizarre, a mysterious Space Odyssey-style metal monolith has been discovered in a remote area of the Utah desert.



While state workers were counting bighorn sheep from a helicopter, they spotted something out of place – a 12 feet tall metal monolith that had been installed in a secluded area of rock.

The Utah Department of Public Safety said the object was found in a “very remote” area of the desert, deliberately withholding its location to prevent people from attempting to visit.

“It is illegal to install structures or art without authorization on federally managed public lands, no matter what planet you’re from,” said the department’s statement.

Yes, aoibhghaire, you can clearly see rivet marks on this beam, so it's most certainly of human origin. It could be something used in blackops because Utah is rife with clandestine bases. Not sure why it is secluded in that canyon, but what it is used for may not be affected by the local landscape.

I think this is one of the geo-art projects with a SCIFY theme and has probably been there for a few months until someone discovered it, the mud earth looks smooth with no shovel marks so it probably went through at least one rainy season where the earth turned into wet clay and settled leaving a rather smooth appearance. The mystery adds to the aura of it. You will be seeing a bunch of credulous people jump on this as an alien artifact as they will not take the time to look at the photograph and see the rather ordinary methods of its construction and it is surely hollow. It will be interesting to watch as this spreads into the UFO swamp.

The feelings it awakes in us for being intelligent yet simple. Could be void of traces. The absence of actual purpose pointing to space geometry.

Strangely, it does remind me of very few strange dreams and sightings in my life that did not make a huge sense , mostly because they appeared “lifeless”.
But some of them were frightening and coincided with days/times of accidents in surroundings.

One of them ( but that’s longer ago) looked like egg shaped spacecraft passing by. It was dimly lighted but quite empty on inside. It did seem to observe us or noticed us but not hugely. Perhaps it was just collecting data.

On even more absurd side, I saw a “flying LEGO piece”, apparently a projection, not actual source of it once of recent and the timing of when the event occurred could be tracked to around 2.30 PM on very bright and sunny day upon which clouds descended suddenly all over, creating grey twilight zone.
I was tired to t but came back home just in time as the overall energy on that day did not feel good, and one of my teachers fell down on stone and hurt his chest rapidly, said he could not breathe.
I had to take a rest as the energy field fell withdrawn and this was what I saw, strange lifeless apparition watching us giving out nothing but menacing presence.

I am really AMAZED that not one person has either NOTICED OR MENTIONED the GIANT LIZARD PETRIFIED BEHIND THE STEEL COLUMN, EXCEPT POSSIBLY THE PHOTOGRAPHER WHO CENTERED IT IN THE PHOTOGRAPH OF THE COLUMN. Are human beings really so BLIND! The lizard's head was at least 10 ft. high with a suggestion of teeth in its lower jaw, its right side ribs were visible and its forward right leg. There were other petrified creatures around it but the views were only partial and swift. The creature may have been forty feet long. This should be bigger news than a piece of manufactured metal. Perhaps someone put the column there for BLIND BRAINWASHED HUMANS TO NOTICE OUR TERRIBLE PAST ON EARTH.

Further to the above, if the Lizard was 40 ft. long and you compare it with a 64 inch human, humans on earth at the time of that lizard should have been approximately ten and one half times 40 ft. (to make the arithmetic simpler), 427 ft. tall. The giant human head above Machu Pichu is 150 feet making the giant about 1200 ft. tall. So the giants I see embedded in mountains everywhere are not my imagination. Everything on Earth has shrunk or the previous occupants all murdered and replaced with their miniatures.

One side (or vertex?) is aligned precisely to magnetic north.
It has rivets, so it appears to be hollow.

To answer Le Chat: The head does look similar to a Tortoise; however, the top shell is missing and you cannot see the RIBS of a Tortoise and its legs are entirely different to the one the lizard has. Also, the Video I saw has been altered and chopped up. WHY?
There were other interesting looking, possibly animal heads, all jumbled up around the lizard. This is common in such sites. It is as if some disaster tumbled them all together with mud and rocks. Sorry to interject another topic here, but it was a perfect opportunity to bring prehistoric earth happenings to people's attention.

The leitmotif of the 1968 film was the portentous theme of Richard Strauss's Thus Spake Zarathustra; of McCracken's work, the hip music of the Beach Boys would be about right. The colour of the monolith in 2001 was louring black; McCracken did black too, but glowing with good health in the same spirit as his bubblegum pinks.

McCracken said that surfboards were in the back of his mind while he worked pigment on to what he called his planks (which they frequently were) until he attained the high-gloss finish of an automobile. His aim was the polar opposite of Frank Lloyd Wright and the American arts and crafts movement: instead of humanising mass production, he laboured as a craftsman to reproduce the finish of mass-produced articles.

"What you see is what you get," although an early maxim of advanced design software, was often heard from the mouths of minimalists as well. The solemn breed of critic who gravitates towards minimal art argues that by standing on the floor, but leaning against the wall, the planks bridge the gap between sculpture and painting, an observation that everyone else recognises as piffle.

The planks do something, but the something is intrinsic to the qualities McCracken invests them with, beautiful colour and a high shine. What happens next is a happy conjunction with the space they are placed in, and they are at their best when the space combines clean lines, white walls, pale grey floors and top lighting – such as David Zwirner (http://www.davidzwirner.com/)'s gallery in Manhattan, where McCracken had the last of a series of shows in September 2010 (http://www.davidzwirner.com/exhibitions/211/) and where the highly buffed shine picked up the geometry of floor and wall, as much in the candy colours as in the mirrored steel and the glowing blacks.

The reflections on the steles and poles and cubes standing in series or leaning against the wall always make the work seem transparent, a disconcerting quality that is a street's distance from the severe sequences of boxes by Donald Judd (http://www.tate.org.uk/modern/exhibitions/judd/) or the inert bricks of Carl Andre (http://www.tate.org.uk/servlet/ArtistWorks?cgroupid=999999961&artistid=648&page=1).

You would imagine that there are easier ways of making a living than all this drudgery, but perhaps McCracken picked up this gene from his father who, when he was not a cattle rancher, was an engineer in Berkeley, California, where John was born.

He grew up in northern California, where he graduated from high school before serving for four years with the US navy. He then studied at the California College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland. There, he married his first wife, with whom he had two sons, David and Patrick.

He replied: "Minimal, maximal, 3D, colour, space." Four of those categories are common to a lot of post-second world war art; maximal referred to the paintings that McCracken made intermittently – surfaces of intricate devices based, he said, on Hindu mandalas (circular designs symbolising the universe).

McCracken was lean and good-looking, with a touch of Clint Eastwood about him, and his gait was like a film star's playing a cowboy. Maybe that came from his father. As he became successful on both the west and east coasts (not to mention London, where the Lisson Gallery has spaces as sympathetic to McCracken's art as Zwirner's in Manhattan), he lived alternately in New York and Santa Fe, New Mexico.
He is survived by his second wife, Gail Barringer, who is also an artist; his sons, David and Patrick; a stepdaughter, Suzanne; his sisters, Margaret and Pamela; and three step-grandchildren.

The artist John McCracken (1934–2011), who I had the privilege to know and work with as an undergraduate art student, began making his famous leaning “plank” sculptures and freestanding “monoliths” in the mid-1960s, before Stanley Kubrick’s famous monolith appeared in the film 2001: A Space Odyssey (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2001:_A_Space_Odyssey_(film)) (1968). McCracken apparently didn’t care for the connection, as noted here in this William Poundstone review (http://blogs.artinfo.com/lacmonfire/2012/10/29/stanley-kubrick-at-lacma/) of the Stanley Kubrick exhibition (http://www.lacma.org/art/exhibition/stanley-kubrick) at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), November 1, 2012–June 30, 2013, which made the connection by including one of McCracken’s iconic planks:
LACMA has added a few more generally related works by better-known artists. A John McCracken plank sculpture, Nine Planks IV (1974) appears in the 2001 gallery in lieu of a monolith. McCracken produced his first planks at just about the time that Kubrick and sci-fi author Arthur C. Clarke were adapting Clarke’s 1951 story, “The Sentinel,” into the screenplay for 2001: A Space Odyssey. In Clarke’s original story, the alien artifact is a tetrahedron. In the screenplay it became a black monolith of 1:4:9 proportions. It’s unlikely that Kubrick/Clarke knew of McCracken, or vice-versa. For years afterward, McCracken was annoyed by comparisons of his art to the 2001 monolith. He was not the first L.A. artist to feel steamrollered by the movie business.
He may have been annoyed with the 2001 monolith comparison, but McCracken was very much into such topics as space and time travel, extra-terrestrial beings, and psychic phenomena. In his 2011 obituary of John McCracken, the art critic Jerry Saltz wrote:
[McCracken’s] remarkable exhibition at David Zwirner in 2006 consisted of tall, black, shiny columns that had the presence of sentinels or guideposts and seemed to mark some kind of landing strip for extraterrestrials or UFOs, both of which he spoke of often. These almost-perfect freestanding keepers-of-metaphysical-secrets and celestial-navigation devices made Chelsea slip away and other worlds seem possible, even probable, as I entered a blessed-out dimension where these obdurate things, with the bearing of basalt Egyptian columns, became abstract angels in the architecture. I thought of Wallace Stevens’s writing about “a geography that would be intolerable except for the non-geography that also exists.” A physical fullness filled the almost empty room.
McCracken kept what he called a diary of “Remote Viewing & Psychic Traveling,” in which he recorded contacting “aliens,” “high-minded beings,” “the ghost of my grandfather,” and of being “in a spaceship with a female copilot…approaching earth,” seeing “huge, spider-like creatures.” He concluded that these creatures were “expressions of fear coming from the human race.” All this, he wrote, had “the feeling of home, a good feeling.” It’s no wonder that many thought that the monolith featured in Stanley Kubrick’s 1968 film 2001: A Space Odyssey was a McCracken sculpture.
Eight years after 2001 came the Led Zeppelin album Presence (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Presence_(album)), with a cover by Hipgnosis (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hipgnosis), the art-design collective that created the cover art for many rock albums from 1968-1982, including the Pink Floyd’s iconic Dark Side of the Moon album. The Wikipedia page for the Presence album tells the story of the album design and the mysterious “object” featured in multiple tongue-in-cheek photographs:
The cover and inside sleeve of this album, created by Hipgnosis, features various images of people interacting with a black obelisk-shaped object. Inside the album sleeve, the item is referred to simply as “The Object.” It was intended to represent the “force and presence” of Led Zeppelin. In the liner notes of the first Led Zeppelin boxed set, Page explained:
There was no working title for the album. The record-jacket designer said ‘When I think of the group, I always think of power and force. There’s a definite presence there.’ That was it. He wanted to call it Obelisk. To me, it was more important what was behind the obelisk. The cover is very tongue-in-cheek, to be quite honest. Sort of a joke on [the film] 2001. I think it’s quite amusing.
The background used in the cover photograph is of an artificial marina that was installed inside London’s Earl’s Court Arena for the annual Earl’s Court Boat Show that was held in the winter of 1974–75. This was the same venue where the band played a series of concerts a few months after the boat show, in May 1975.
In 1977 Hipgnosis and George Hardie were nominated for a Grammy Award in the category of best album package.

Ultimately, this scenic detour into the world of the monolith arrives at Nothing (http://youneednothing.com/), a smallish, nicely-finished black rectangular block of sculpture, with a perfect name. The promise of presence has arrived at the evocation of absence, of Nothing.

November 27, 2020 Albuquerque, New Mexico – In the past 24 hours, a Reddit post appeared with latitude/longitude information of the exact location of the tall, silver monolith that was recently found by Utah state wildlife and public safety officers on November 18, 2020, when they were counting bighorn sheep in the rugged, reddish rocks of southern Utah. The Reddit user, Tim Slane, who posted the coordinates, said he found them by tracking the UtahDPS helicopter until it went off radar. Slane concluded the helicopter had landed and posted the location at Reddit.

Now, a 33-year-old former U. S. Army infantry officer, who saw the new Reddit location information, also found aerial map comparisons of the lat/long one year apart from August 2015 when there was NO monolith — to October 2016 when there WAS the monolith.

This means that the artist some insisted was the answer, John Harvey McCracken, could not be responsible because he died on April 8, 2011, five years before the October 2016 photo, which allegedly is the first factual evidence of the silver monolith’s appearance at the southern Utah site.

Mysterious Monolith Similar To One Found In Utah Appears On Romanian Hillside

A metal monolith identical to the one recently found in Utah has appeared on a hillside in Romania, just metres away from a historic fortress.

The structure was found on BatcaDoamnei Hill in the city of Piatra Neamt, which is situated in Romania's north-eastern Neamt County, on 26 November.

Officials say they still do not know who the monolith belongs to, and have launched an investigation into why it's there.

The monolith - which has a height of around four metres - was discovered close to the Petrodava Dacian Fortress, a well-known archaeological landmark.

The fortress is the oldest historical monument in Piatra Neamt, and is believed to have been destroyed by the Romans in the 2nd Century AD - although the remains can still be seen today in the form of parts of the city wall.

The shiny monolith has appeared just metres away, with one side facing Mount Ceahlau, known locally as the Holy Mountain.

It is one of the country's most famous mountains, and is also listed as one of the Seven Natural Wonders of Romania.

Neamt Culture and Heritage official Rocsana Josanu said: "We have started looking into the strange appearance of the monolith.

"It is on private property, but we still don't know who the monolith's owner is yet. It is in a protected area on an archaeological site."

She added: "Before installing something there, they needed permission from our institution, one that must then be approved by the Ministry of Culture."

The mysterious monolith is similar to one recently found in the desert in Utah.

That one has now actually disappeared, according to the state's Bureau of Land Management, which said it had received 'credible reports' the object had been removed by 'an unknown party'.

In a statement posted on Facebook, the Bureau said: "We have received credible reports that the illegally installed structure, referred to as the 'monolith', has been removed from Bureau of Land Management (BLM) public lands by an unknown party.

"The BLM did not remove the structure which is considered private property. We do not investigate crimes involving private property which are handled by the local sheriff's office.

"The structure has received international and national attention and we received reports that a person or group removed it on the evening of Nov. 27."

The origins of the four-metre (12ft) high metal block are still unclear.

If you’re interested in what exactly happened to the monolith keep reading because I was literally there. On Friday, 3 friends and myself drove the 6 hours down to the middle of nowhere in Utah and got to the “trailhead” around 7 PM after passing a sea of cars on our way in.

We passed one group as we hiked towards the mysterious monolith, while another group was there when we arrived, and they left pretty quick after we got there. For the next hour and 40 minutes we had the place to ourselves.

I had just finished taking some photos of the monolith under the moonlight and was taking a break, thinking about settings I needed to change for my last battery of drone flight when we heard some voices coming up the canyon. We were contemplating packing up our things as they walked up, so they could enjoy it for themselves like we did. At this point I looked down at my watch and it was 8:40 PM.

4 guys rounded the corner and 2 of them walked forward. They gave a couple of pushes on the monolith and one of them said “You better have got your pictures.” He then gave it a big push, and it went over, leaning to one side. He yelled back to his other friends that they didn’t need the tools. The other guy with him at the monolith then said “this is why you don’t leave trash in the desert.”

Then all four of them came up and pushed it almost to the ground on one side, before they decided push it back the other when it then popped out and landed on the ground with a loud bang. They quickly broke it apart and as they were carrying to the wheelbarrow that they had brought one of them looked back at us all and said “Leave no trace.” That was at 8:48.

If you’re asking why we didn’t stop them well, they were right to take it out. We stayed the night and the next day hiked to a hill top overlooking the area where we saw at least 70 different cars (and a plane) in and out. Cars parking everywhere in the delicate desert landscape.

Nobody following a path or each other. We could literally see people trying to approach it from every direction to try and reach it, permanently altering the untouched landscape. Mother Nature is an artist, it’s best to leave the art in the wild to her.

My personal take :sherlock: on it:

Picture looks LAYERED and edited ... known decompression artifacts ... and additional transparency settings overlay shows it is an highly probability it is a doctored photograph!

Parts of the layered object is not in sync with the rest of the base picture.

Am aware most cameras have difficulty dealing with counter light sources thus auto-focus looks messed up especially when you move your camera.


Love to see the real deal ... I mean a genuine unaltered copy of the real original source-photo coming straight out his camera memory card.

My estimation is: 95% chance it is fake! ... 5% has to do with some cameras having issues with back-light effects creating UNINTENDED artificial (decompression) anomalies because of it.

A monolith has been spotted on the Isle of Wight - days after similar structures were discovered in the US and Romania.

Tom Dunford, 29, was out walking the dog with his fiancee and sister at 7.30am on Sunday when he saw the mysterious mirrored object ahead of them on the island's Compton Beach.

He told Sky News: "We went down the steps and to the right about 100 yards in front us we saw this big reflection of the sun.

"I knew about all the monolith stories recently, so I recognised it straight away."

It is unclear who is responsible for the installation.

Within the last week, so-called monoliths have appeared in the Utah desert, on a hill in Romania and atop a Californian mountain.

They bear a resemblance to the one that features in Stanley Kubrick's film 2001: A Space Odyssey.

The structure discovered on the Isle of Wight was around 10ft tall and "really reflective", Mr Dunford said.

"The person who put it there knows what they're doing. It's really reflective. It's someone playing a practical joke, I don't believe in any of these conspiracy theories."

It has caused quite a stir on the island, with more people going to visit it as the day went on.

Islander Lee Peckham tweeted: "Strange monolith on Compton Beach today. Any ideas?"

Mr Dunford added: "When we came back around half an hour later there were more dog walkers crowding around it - probably about a dozen.

"There's been quite a few people flocking down to see it today.

"It's something a bit different and interesting to happen at this time of year."

The first monolith reported in Utah was originally spotted by state wildlife officials who were helping to count bighorn sheep from a Utah Department of Public Safety (DPS) helicopter.

The 10-12 feet (3-3.6-metre) structure was discovered in the ground and tucked into a red rock cove, sparking speculation about how it had come to be there and attracting the attention of conspiracy theorists.

But days later, the Utah Bureau of Land Management said the structure had been removed.

An anonymous collective called The Most Famous Artist has taken credit for the Utah structure and also the one in California.

A MYSTERIOUS monolith has been spotted on the Isle of Wight - just days after similar pillars were spotted in the US and Romania.

Residents were left baffled when the structure appeared at the bottom of a sheer cliff on Compton Beach.

Ami Blackburn, 31, went to investigate and take her own photos with her son and boyfriend after seeing snaps on social media but reading rumours they may have been photoshopped.

This event reported by credible IFP Iran News resides in a very highly sensitive military monitored area, an extremely remote area high in the mountains near a small village. You can just see in reflection. Access one could say is very limited and it would in truth be unimaginable for something like this to occur and the local villagers to not be aware. All the dogs would be going 'nuts' and the locals would be all over you in no time at all!

I have personally travelled through these mountains on route to India in my 'Hippy' days in the '70's when overland was still possible. From Istanbul through to Amritsar there was only one major road and sometimes a very dangerous road and if you turn off that road, as you would need to if transporting this metal column, things would get very rough indeed. The people I met were very hospitable, many of whom were goat herders but I suspect any suspicions of unofficial activity would not be tolerated. Iran as we should know is still a very dangerous place and wrongdoings are dealt with decisively and severely. Iran's government is not known for its sense of humour let's say! My bet is that the military will be on site vey soon if not already. Get my point?

So to me at least any suggestion of some jokey jokey, anonymous 'artist' types hoping to transport a heavy 3m metal object to this place is unthinkable, probably belongs within the realms of Monty Python, and in reality is highly improbable. The police would immediately regard such an event as a military threat and would almost certainly land you in prison...or worse! Why would any sane person even think of risking such an endeavour here? My feeling is you're not going to get planning permission for something like this even if you are the Queen of England. To my sense of reasoning, and believe me I am a very 'grounded' person if nothing else, next to yesterday's primary school event in St. Albans UK this is the most significant development in the 'monolith' story so far and 'probability' would suggest something very unusual is going on here. We of course en masse are all still not completely convinced these columns are of an exotic nature, not yet. But it is important to keep an open mind here I think lest we miss something, open minds learn more. We may learn by monitoring and scrutinising, looking at trends to identify events that are completely watertight in terms of probability; this one comes pretty damn close. Because if we take the trouble to keep a close eye on them and they in fact turn out to be mysterious in nature we will have something that could help develop Man's paradigm, help him to evolve. Now I think we can all agree that is something that is well overdue.

So please share this article with as many people as possible as I feel this event is very significant.

Perhaps we should try to think a little more laterally, be more open and consider that the paradigm that is used to form our world view may not be the end of the wider cosmic story. I still feel that there may even be a link between the crop circles and these 'monoliths', especially after the Cornish stone circle event, which I know will make this story even more incredulous. Another commonality I have just noted is that these structures also seem to happen at night quite often just like the crop circles do. If that seems incredible so did the idea of electricity for example before it was developed by Micheal Faraday in the 18c. I would hope that in the 20c we should be capable of being a bit more open and curious.

I think they're manufactured and put in place by human beings.

Either for ceremonial/religious purposes, some of them are as much obelisk as monolith, or perhaps as a way of communicating something to others? These things aren't exactly low profile and news coverage on discovery is guaranteed. They could be saying that their area is ready, or their allotted task has been completed. There could be hidden meaning in the colour, height, position, timing etc.

Of course they could serve both purposes or neither!

When Craig Muir spotted an object while hiking the summit of a hill, he thought he was having a close encounter of the third kind. However, while (apparently) not a UFO, the shiny, silver monolith in a muddy patch of Powys uplands was strikingly mysterious.

“When I first saw it, I was a bit taken aback as it looked like some sort of a UFO,” said Muir, a builder who lives in Hay-on-Wye nearby. “It seemed like a very fine metallic [material], almost like a surgical steel. The steel structure was almost 10ft long and looked perfectly levelled and steady, despite the weather being windy.”

Following a spate of monoliths appearing around the world in 2020 – in the Isle of Wight, Romania and the Utah desert – conspiracy theorists speculated that aliens could be behind the structures.

Since there is no way to drive up to the top of the Hay Bluff hill, Muir suggested it could have been taken by a group of people or dropped off by the helicopter on its spot.

“It didn’t seem like it was chucked in there, instead it has been accurately put in the ground,” he told PA Media. “However, there were no obvious tracks around it and one would think that there would be a lot of mess around it, but there wasn’t.”

No one has yet come forward to claim responsibility for the Welsh monolith, which bears a resemblance to the one that features in Stanley Kubrick’s film 2001: A Space Odyssey.

The latest monolith – a large, upright structure usually made of stone – is similar to one found on Compton Beach on the Isle of Wight four years ago, which was also described as being around 10ft tall.

The first monolith reported in Utah was originally spotted by state wildlife officials who were helping to count bighorn sheep from a helicopter.

The 10-12ft structure was discovered in the ground, tucked into a red rock cove, and was subsequently removed by the Utah Bureau of Land Management.

An anonymous collective called The Most Famous Artist took credit for the structures in the US in 2020.

This is very strange to see a ten foot tall monolith in the Welsh countryside. If someone did this it would have to be flown in as there are no tracks in the soft soil surrounding it. What do you think?

MONOLITH MANIA: Another Mysterious Metal Artifact Found, This Time in a Desert Near Las Vegas

Is it a seemingly supernatural ‘mystery’ – or is it just an elaborate piece of undercover artwork?

The Monolith Mania continues unabated in the United States the United Kingdom.

Another ten-foot-tall block of steel, resembling the distinctive shape of the Swiss chocolate bar Toblerone, has been found, this time in the Nevada desert near Las Vegas.

The artifact sighting is the latest in a series of similar events happening across the US, UK and elsewhere in Europe.

New York Post reported:

“The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department says the shiny, reflective structure – similar to one found in Utah years ago – was spotted by its search and rescue unit near Gass Peak over the weekend.

‘We see a lot of weird things when people go hiking like not being prepared for the weather, not bringing enough water… but check this out!’ police wrote on X alongside an image of the monolith.”

Multiple monoliths were sighted since 2020, including one in Utah, one in California, one at UK’s Isle of Wight and one at the Merry Maidens megalithic stone circle in Cornwall, which attracted enormous curiosity.

I didn't find anything on monoliths using the Avalon search engine so I thought there should be a thread about them. Does anyone here have more information about them? Who made them? Why?
