The first clip is the close-up edit, and the second is the original version.
Was taking some evening shots of the moon with the Nikon P900 when this large red object flew in front of it. While I was filming, I didn't notice the object until it was already to the right of the moon. As soon as I noticed it, I tried to zoom in as close as I could.
Once again, the first clip is the close-up, and the second is the original version.
Made sure to check Stellarium.org to check for satellites. None were transiting the moon at the time. Most were above it and were in stationary geo-synchronous orbit.
(As soon as I set up the tri-pod, a helicopter started circling endlessly. When this happens its extremely annoying and its hard for me to keep from spouting four letter words. This explains the two sound dropouts.)

Have you ever seen anything like this before?
The red is very clear, but it's not lit up like many of the videos online. I tried a quick search for red maybe this closest? UFO https://youtu.be/EOOySg7ZTJc

What a great catch. I'm constantly trying to catch stuff like this. I see alot of fast movers but nothing like this. Look at the shadow it casts .. the thing is huge.:clapping:

Wow outstanding, this things are hard to catch on camera. It was big and in transit, whatever it maybe be. Very clear video. Nice thanks to share.

awesome footage,
it must be keeping really close to the moons surface to cast that continuous shadow.
it even looks like it causes some dust to come up just as it leaves the moon to the right.
might be worth looking up the dimensions of the craters it passes for size reference.

Am I watching the same vid?
That object was nowhere near the Moon ?
Constant shadow? not on the moon there wasn't ?
Strangeness.

Strangeness.Very interesting! But I very much doubt it was a "shadow" — more like the camera exposure automatically adjusting for the brightness of the new background.
And it was surely almost certainly in our atmosphere. Otherwise, the thing would be a couple dozen miles in diameter and moving ridiculously fast. We saw it crossing half the moon's diameter (about 1000 miles) in about 10 seconds. If it was close to the moon, that's something like 6000 miles a minute, or 360,000 mph.
(Note: "4:52 pm" adds no value unless we know the timezone!)

Does seem somewhat large. What I find strange is how the chopper found you and more to the point, why they would target you. One would think that they would have better things to do.
What a weird time we live in.

At my spot depends on their height, when lower they have some Orange glow, they go more yellow when higher and more like a star in the sky when even more higher up. But I have never seen 'm red.
