Playback during a call ?

During an international phone call to my father a strange thing occured.
After like 2 minutes of talking suddenly I was hearing a playback of the last 30 seconds spoken. I was hearing just what my father had spoken but not myself.
I couldn't do anything else but listening the playback of my father.
I waited till the end of the playback hoping that we will be able to resume the conversation. Unfortunately when the playback has finished it has started again.
I listened again for few seconds and then interrupted the call.
Calling again everything was ok and my faher told me that he didn't hear anything.
Somebody could shed some light here?
I can't figure it out...

toppy,I don't know if this will help you in a way,but is related to phone calls.

During 2018 and 2019 I talked on the phone a lot with an old friend,almost every day;phone calls lasted 2-3 hours,but somewhere starting from Summer of 2018 I started hearing in the phone speaker sounds like somebody was short screaming at high pitch.After many events like this,having a call recorder I transferred one of the phone calls to computer and I listen it on VLC trying decyphering those sounds.I slowed down the speed to the lowest allowed by VLC and came out a male voice asking in Romanian:"Ce faaaaci?" = "What are you doing?". And as in your case,my friend didn't heard anything,only me.

My friend always called me during day when he has time to talk and I called him only 2-3 times in 3 years until the link between us has been broken.The incoming calls were from an IPhone with Orange subscription (his) to Lenovo with Digi subscription and an old Allview with Vodafone prepaid (mine) if it helps knowing the operator.

I haven't experienced anything like that, but if I were you, I'd record future conversations from now on. If you remember exactly the repeated text, it wouldn't hurt to write it down somewhere, someday it might be related.

If it was a language with ancient ancestral history, in which each word has 400 roots, maybe each word in the text means something and as a whole, the text is a kind of message for some time, or something.

Maybe it is not always about a vice, in the interception procedure, from one's own experience, not always the person contacted is the one targeted.
There are even more aspects related to telepathy and telecommunications, but they are just stories, maybe.
