I can't help thinking that the collective West including America, with Ukraine at the front line, is being deliberately destroyed from within, using and forcing Russia to be the means to that end

Well yes but that is how you can identify this is a failure.

Such a "plot" is certainly the case of UK vs. its "breakaway colonies" and one might say the mission of CIA & MI6 to move it forward. Call that the twentieth century.

The problem is it didn't work.

Remember that the people in charge of the west are good at one thing, telling someone else what to do, whereas the people in charge of Russia...well usually I think that to even be alive they must be tougher and smarter than me. They make results.

The western mentality is neither capable of producing a system that actually works, nor being considered a part of the civilized world.

A lot of the western commanders who have been to these places know what time it is. They would not make those stupid political decisions or risk grave consequences. The politicians are engrossed with "superiority" to the point where they live in a fantasy which unfortunately is inhabited by God. It really is right out of the Bible. Unless they are politically corrupted, military and police types do what they have to, go after violent offenders, and otherwise they don't waste their time on fluff or meaningless risks. You might think of the Colonel's Coup which is why Qaddafi was so successful and so popular. The office of a Colonel is much closer to on-the-ground, day-to-day reality. Comparatively, a General's Coup has a political bloc, or a vested interest or other strings attached.

Remember, the Empire already went to its grave in Syria. It wasn't big enough so nobody believed it. Ukraine is further details on how insane it actually is, which is not quite new, starting from Operation Belladonna 1946.

Just the failure of a Great Game which could have never worked, because these people don't know how to work. They have beliefs.

@Bill - It is horrible how routine this stuff has become in the current war.

The Western puppet-leaders routinely approve or by-proxies perform some intended grossly destructive or sheerly-spiteful act of destruction, atrocity, war crime - they routinely instruct the mass media to enforce this latest Big Lie by blaming Russia (etc) and block or demonize any dissent from this truth-inversion, which the mass media routinely does - and the Western masses (esepcially the managerial, bureaucratic and intellectual classes) routinely believe the Big Lie (and indeed get terribly moralistically exercised against what has actually been done by their side).

It does not matter how ridiculously implausible the Lie, nor that the Western puppet-leaders have been caught in multiple gross lies over and again: the masses routinely believe everything they are told.

This is a kind of literal mental illness - because I can think no significant group of people anywhere in history have ever been so gullible, so gullible in the service to evil, as are the Western masses.

Rudolf Steiner made the insightful comment that atheism was a kind of insanity (https://charltonteaching.blogspot.com/2017/03/rudolf-steiner-in-1918-on-mental.html): I think that may be the ultimate explanation. (When atheism is considered in its fullness, including its social manifestations.)

There has never been a population that tried to delete the religious and spiritual from their own minds and from public discourse - in the way that happens (routinely) now and is enforced. While people retained a residuum of 'belief' from childhood, this was not such a problem - but now that so many have been raided in a post-religious world (dominated by 'politics' and the mass media) insanity has become normal: indeed, insisted-upon.

From Simplicius The Thinker, dated yesterday, which time permitting I may post up extracts from a little later. This is maximalist, for sure:

state Duma deputy Elena Panina, who stated:

Denazification of Ukraine means de-Americanization of Ukraine.

Elena Panina, director of the Institute of Russian Strategic Studies: "Nazism in Ukraine is a product carefully cultivated by the United States and its entire state machine. Nazism is an American tool for turning apolitical and good-natured Ukrainians into brutal fanatical Russophobes. The tool is precisely American, because the special services of England, Germany, The Vatican and Austria played a supporting role in this matter, they were, as they say, "on the hook."

Therefore, the denazification of Ukraine is, first of all, its de-Americanization. The denazification of Ukraine means the complete military defeat of all its institutions created by the United States for the war with Russia. There can be no denazification without the de-Americanization of Ukraine. No denazification is possible in that part of Ukraine that will remain under US rule. It was for the sake of growing Nazism that the United States came to Ukraine. Money is not their main goal. They will pay any price for the destruction of Russia.

Russia is fighting in Ukraine primarily with the United States, which has turned Ukraine into a Nazi reserve. Freezing, cessation of hostilities under any pretext means the cessation of the denazification of Ukraine and the abandonment of the goals of the SMO. To solve the problem of Nazism in Ukraine, the United States must be expelled from there. If the de-Americanization of Ukraine is not brought to an end, Nazism in it will always seek to destroy Russia.

We have no right to allow this. The goals of the SMO must be fully fulfilled."

Yes I agree with her. The further implications would include that the countries (including of course my own) which avidly follow the dictates of whoever is running the US machine are also increasingly if not utterly overtaken by the same ruthless ideology, and therefore the longer term problem is much bigger than America, however central America is to the current war.

Seymour Hersh: Panic at the State Department over Victoria Nuland
Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman has resigned, and her last day in office will be June 30, noted journalist Seymour Hersh on his blog.
"Her departure sent the State Department into near-panic over the person many fear will be her replacement: Victoria Nuland," writes Hersh.
As he states, Nuland's aggressive attitude towards Russia fits perfectly with the views of President Joseph Biden.
The famous journalist cites a source with direct knowledge of the details of the situation, who says that various State Department bureaus are complaining that Nuland, currently the undersecretary for political affairs, is "going wild" while Secretary of State Anthony Blinken is on the road.

Gossip, but interesting:

According to RIA Novosti, the head of the Ukrainian military intelligence service, Budanov, was wounded during a Russian strike on his office building on 29 May, a missile "flew" into the office next to Budanov's, a Russian law enforcer told RIA Novosti citing sources in the Ukrainian intelligence service.

After he was wounded, Budanov was transported by helicopter to a military base in Rzeszow, Poland, and an American evacuation flight was flown there especially for him, which took the head of the Ukrainian intelligence service to Germany.

Data on the flight were found on Flightradar (pictured). Budanov is now in a hospital in Berlin in serious condition.

Yes, Bruce.

As a matter or fact, the Marquis de Sade (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marquis_de_Sade) had already shown that a century earlier. Who was a deist, fundamentally, and only an atheist for the sake of the thought experiment. He felt justified writing his horror novels because the Revolution had condemned him (as a specimen among others) to, practically, lifelong incarceration in prison and mental asylum. (Quite modern, this combination.)

During my professional life as an organisation consultant I tried to awaken that perspective among my trainees — to no avail. They could not relate. Which condemned them to condoning far worse, as we are now witnessing on an industrial scale.

Not the Marquis was insane (that’s why he inspired Pasolini (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pier_Paolo_Pasolini) to make his Salò (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salò,_or_the_120_Days_of_Sodom)). They are.

farrell has done good work in parts in the past but I believe he is leading people astray, he has a certain Semitic bias that just rubs me up the wrong way and is counter to the pursuit of truth, he relies heavily on the work of others which in and of itself isn’t bad but, he tried to sabotage Judy woods 9/11 book whilst acting as editor. He also is somewhat of a plagiarist. But don’t take my word for it.

"This was the time when the so-called explosion took place. I filmed a video from a hotel here in Kiev. It is very strange that we did not hear or see an explosion. There is clearly some kind of deliberate disinformation being spread here. As we expected, this mission never won't be easy, but some obstacles are deeply disturbing, like the conversion you all received, and others are just funny, like this so-called explosion.
We were all puzzled when we were taken back to the hotel and we drove through the streets where people were living their usual way of life. This is very strange and in some ways is deliberate misinformation."

🇵🇱🇿🇦 Poland blocked the plane with the personal protection of the South African president, flying to Kyiv
The head of the security service, Major General Wally Rude, accused Poland of racism. He said that the actions of the Poles threaten the life of the South African president and that the border guards, in their own defense, speak of problems with the documents of the South African delegation and questions about the weapons on board.

📝 “We have been sitting here since yesterday, when we arrived. We can't get out of here to go with President Ramaphosa, including guarding him. The security service is in limbo, the Polish authorities do not communicate with them, they sabotage the protection of Ramaphosa.

They tried to get weapons in their luggage, but were afraid to confiscate them. We have therefore been on this forum for 22 hours. Our passports have been confiscated and we have to fly to Russia to meet Putin tomorrow,” Rude said.

PS: So far, only S300 air defense missiles of the NATO-Ukrainian terrorist regime have exploded in a vacuum over Kiev.

Scott Ritter Talks Ukraine Counter Offensive and Why America Deserves Donald Trump:

This might be my all time favorite appearance featuring Scott Ritter. His take on the Trump situation is must see TV. He also talks about what is really happening on the ground in Ukraine. And related to Trump, he excoriates the Biden crime family and the DOJ. This is one video you don't want to miss.

That was one A1 + rant by Scott Ritter!

And a serious analysis from The Moon of Alabama: (published yesterday)

https://www.moonofalabama.org/2023/06/on-the-failure-of-the-ukrainian-counterattack.html#more

On The Failure Of The Ukrainian Counterattack

On June 4/5 the Ukrainian military launched its long announced counteroffensive in southeast Ukraine. Ten days later there is no significant progress.

https://www.moonofalabama.org/16i/ukrmap20230614-s.jpg
bigger (https://www.moonofalabama.org/16i/ukrmap20230614.jpg)

This is not the outcome the war propagandists expected (https://www.theguardian.com/world/live/2023/jun/03/russia-ukraine-war-live-russian-army-may-struggle-in-bakhmut-compared-with-wagner-uk-mod-suggests?page=with:block-647afd7a8f08b007454b97f0):
[General Petreus] spoke about the situation in Ukraine to BBC Radio 4’s Today programme. On the counteroffensive, he said:
I think that this counteroffensive is going to be very impressive.
My sense is that they will achieve combined arms effects in other words, they will successfully carry out combined arms operations where you have engineers that are breaching the obstacles and diffusing the minefields and so forth; armour following right on through protected by infantry against anti-tank missiles; air defence keeping the Russians aircraft off them; electronic warfare jamming their radio networks; logistics right up behind them; artillery and mortars right out in front of them.
And most important of all … is that as the lead elements inevitably culminate after 72-96 hours, physically that’s about as far as you can go, and they’ll have taken losses … you have follow-on units that will push right on through and capitalise on the progress and maintain the momentum and I think that can get the entire Russian defence in that area moving, then I think you have other opportunities that will open up on the flanks as well.
Back in reality the lead elements of the Ukrainian attack got slaughtered (https://www.moonofalabama.org/2023/06/lets-try-this-again.html). They 'culminated', i.e. lost their ability for further attacks, in less than a day (https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/2023/06/13/ukraine-counteroffensive-kryvyi-rih-donetsk/):
The men of Ukraine’s 37th Brigade were freshly trained and armed with Western-supplied weapons, tasked with an initial push through Russian-occupied territory in the early days of a long-awaited counteroffensive. They would pay a heavy price.
Within 20 minutes of their June 5 advance south of Velyka Novosilka, in the southeast Donetsk region, mortars exploded all around them, soldiers said. A 30-year-old soldier known as Lumberjack saw two of the men in his vehicle bleeding heavily; one lost an arm as he cried out for his family. Lumberjack crawled into a crater, but the shrapnel from a mortar went through the soil and pierced his shoulder.
“We were left there in the field, without tanks or heavy armor,” said Lumberjack, who spoke to The Washington Post on the condition that he be identified only by his call sign because he was not authorized to discuss the battle. “We were shelled with mortars from three sides. We couldn’t do anything.”
There were fewer than 50 men in the unit, he said, and 30 did not return — they were killed, wounded or captured by the enemy. Five of the unit’s armored vehicles were destroyed within the first hour.
Whoever trained those units made grave mistakes:
For the first hour and a half of the 37th’s assault near Velyka Novosilka, the Russians bombarded the unit with nonstop shelling that penetrated their AMX-10 RC armored vehicles, according to Grey, another soldier in the battalion who spoke on the condition that he be identified only by his call sign. The armored vehicles, sometimes called “light tanks,” were not heavy enough to protect the soldiers, Grey said, and had to be positioned behind them instead of in front.The AMX-10 isn't a tank and can not be used as one. It is a wheeled light reconnaissance vehicle built by France 50 years ago to dominate insurgents in its former African colonies. One of its main features is to have a good speed when in reverse gear. This to bail out as soon as serious counter forces are detected.

The Ukrainian counterattack is now stuck in the Russian defense security zone, miles away from the real defense lines. This was predictable.

As the U.S. Field Manual 100-2-1 described the Soviet army in defense (https://irp.fas.org/doddir/army/fm100-2-1.pdf) (pg 93ff):
When the defense is established before contact with the enemy, the Soviets establish a security echelon up to 15 kilometers forward of the main defensive area. The elements which make up the security echelon come from the division's second echelon. A security force of up to battalion size may be deployed in front of each first echelon regiment. A detailed and coordinated fire plan is developed. Weapons are positioned so that the maximum amount of fire can be brought to bear directly in front of the [Forward Edge of the Battle Area]. Enemy penetrations are blunted by shifting artillery fire and by conducting counterattacks.
https://www.moonofalabama.org/16i/fm100-s.jpg
bigger (https://www.moonofalabama.org/16i/fm100.jpg)

The Ukrainian army used at least four brigades for its attack. At least two of those were from the 12 brigade reserve that had been built up for the counterattack. With losses of some 30% those involved were seriously mauled (https://www.nytimes.com/2023/06/15/world/europe/ukraine-recapures-villages.html) for little to no gain:
The Russians are trying to inflict as many casualties and destroy as many vehicles as possible in a battle zone ahead of the main defensive line, depleting Ukrainian forces before they reach it. In effect, it turns the area in front of the main defense line into a kill zone.
...
If the Russian strategy proves effective, Ukraine could lose too many of its newly trained troops — which number in the tens of thousands — and too many tanks and infantry fighting vehicles to breach the main line. Even if they get that far, the forces might be too weakened to stream south and help accomplish a major objective: severing the so-called land bridge that connects Russia to the occupied Crimean Peninsula. This would be done by reaching the Sea of Azov, about 60 miles away.
The Ukrainian forces were obviously not trained for this. They also attacked in too many places. The map at the top shows attack arrows in 7 places and four main directions. One or two attack directions, with more concentrated forces, might have created better results.

The Russian President Putin recently described (http://www.en.kremlin.ru/events/president/news/71391) the Ukrainian casualties:
I will not give the number of personnel losses. I will let the Defence Ministry do it after it runs the numbers, but the structure of losses is unfavourable for them as well. What I mean to say is that of all personnel losses – and they are approaching a number that can be called catastrophic – the structure of these losses is unfavourable for them. Because as we know, losses can be sanitary or irretrievable. Usually, I am afraid I may be off a little, but irretrievable losses are around 25 percent, maximum 30 percent while their losses are almost 50/50. This is my first point. Second, if we look at irretrievable losses, clearly, the defending side suffers fewer losses, but this ratio of 1 to 10 is in our favour. Our losses are one-tenth of the losses of the Ukrainian forces.
Since the start of the counterattack the Russian daily report (https://eng.mil.ru/en/special_operation.htm) has listed a total of some 10,500 Ukrainian casualties.

A second large attempt to cross the Forward Edge of the Battle Area (FEBA) with the remaining Ukrainian forces is expected, but is unlikely to have a better outcome. The long promoted Ukrainian counterattack is likely to end with high Ukrainian losses and no gains.

This then will soon become a huge political problem (https://www.washingtonpost.com/national-security/2023/06/14/ukraine-counteroffensive-biden-support/):
As he heads into next year’s reelection campaign, Biden needs a major battlefield victory to show that his unqualified support for Ukraine has burnished U.S. global leadership, reinvigorated a strong foreign policy with bipartisan support and demonstrated the prudent use of American military strength abroad.
...
A muddled outcome of limited gains in Ukraine would provide grist for all of those critiques and further cloud the already murky waters of NATO and European Union debate over future posture toward both Ukraine and Russia. A less than “overwhelming” success would probably also increase pressure in the West to push Kyiv to negotiate a territorial settlement that may not be to its liking.There is little the Biden administration can do to change the grim picture. Congress will likely prevent it from openly using the U.S. military in Ukraine. The European NATO allies have now seen what the Russian army can do to its enemies. They will not be eager to see the same done to their own troops.

That leaves negotiations as the only way out.

The question for Russia is when and with whom. Talks with only Ukraine, a mere U.S. proxy with no real say, would be insufficient. It is the U.S. government that must agree to a new security architecture in Europe. The Russian conditions for peace will be harsh (https://www.moonofalabama.org/2023/06/ukraine-sitrep-destruction-of-its-third-army-issues-to-negotiate.html) and it will still take a lot of time, and many dead Ukrainians, until the U.S. agrees to them.

The conflict-thirsty and compliant-hungry cabal — behind Zelensky's, NATO's and the US/CIA's unwillingness to consider peace as a potential resolution to the Ukraine/Russia conflict — is rolling out 1984ish "aid" plans of the digital kind for the Ukrainian population... in which snitching becomes the normal and noble thing to do (similarly to how it was encouraged in many countries during the Covid-19 crisis):

Vladimir Putin has revealed that #Russian troops withdrew from #Kiev and other regions in #Ukraine on the basis of a peace deal agreed in #Turkiye, this casts serious doubts over Ukrainain narratives about defeat of Russia in the "battle of Kiev"

He showed African leaders and press the document at their meeting in St Petersburg. Russian journalists published the title page of the document both sides provisionally agreed to titled "Treaty on Permanent Neutrality and Security Guarantees of Ukraine"

According to the President of the Russian Federation, Ukraine and Russia agreed in principle to the draft agreement spring 2022 in Istanbul, but then Kiev refused to sign it after Russian troops voluntaraly pulled back when ordered by Moscow as part of the deal.

The text says that the UK, China, Russia, the USA, France, and Turkey would act as guarantors. Sources suggest Boris Johnston travelled to Kiev soon after to insist / threaten Zelensky not to continue with the deal.

CIA: Black Market of Arms Trade. Part 1

https://www.sott.net/image/s34/680708/full/cia1.jpg

We can see that the CIA controls a significant part of the arms trade black market. Millions of dollars are being spent on financing terrorist groups and political radicals around the globe. Biden has already allocated more than $50 billion for purchasing weapons for Ukraine.

We know that the vast part of this money ends up in the pockets of corrupt CIA agents and officials bribed by them, and are also spent on other illegal activities.

In the first part of our investigation, we publish a list of the CIA agents who are involved in corrupt schemes for weapons supply to hotspots all around the world. We want their activity to become public and be thoroughly investigated. The U.S. foreign policy should emphasize peace with all nations, entangling alliances with none.

Seems obvious that facilitating the surrender of Ukrainian troops would not only be the compassionate thing to do, but most importantly would lead to a faster end to this war.
______________________

Anybody with any compassion for Slavic brethren

Dima reports (and provides video) of a UkroReich platoon ordered into the attack. As they entered the FEBA they encountered ground littered with the dead bodies of their comrades in arms. The entire platoon elected to surrender and survive.

Wagner made a fatal mistake when it announced it would take no more prisoners. RF, Putin, Valery Gerasimov, anybody with any compassion for Slavic brethren, should announce a general amnesty for UkroReich troopers who lay down their arms and accept internment in Russia for the duration of the conflict i.e. the surrendered troops will be protected by Russia and will not be exchanged or be recycled back into the conflict by the UkroReich.

I suspect such an offer / announcement will result in the complete collapse of the Potemkin army that constitutes the UAF.

The announcement should include the declaration that any officer who sends men to their certain deaths in this way for the sole purpose of achieving an "improved" Z negotiating position at the coming NATOstan conference, is guilty of murder and will be subject to prosecution at the close of the SMO.

This declaration would extend to the parquet military staffs of the NATOstan nations and to their civilian overlords up to, and including, Bidet, Blinken, Sullivan, Nuland. They are all, the entire rotten stinking cabal, equally complicit in these senseless deaths.

I don't see how any competent officer can view this unending slaughter and continue to proudly bear arms as a military professional. I suspect there will be an increased number of refusals, resignations, retirements, from within the NATOstan military. Fighting a war is one thing. Being complicit in the death of uniformed civilians for the sake of Z prestige is not war - it is murder.

Many military correspondents are reporting a veritable massacre in the Orekhovo region. The Ukrainian Armed Forces launched maximum forces, but it was not possible to break through the defences:

▪️Voenkor Sladkov:
The enemy is going on the offensive in large numbers. The enemy infantry advanced with the support of NATO tanks and armoured vehicles. In this area, there was a heavy continuous battle. In one day, the Ukrainian assault battalion was completely destroyed. The number of APU equipment destroyed and burnt per day is incredibly high.

▪️Yuriy Podolyaka:
What happened today near Orekhovo was a massacre!
Time is running out (NATO summit on 11-12 July) and the objectives have been set (victory in the Battle of Azov).
I have received data on enemy casualties near Orekhovo (without publication rights). I think that tomorrow or the day after, there will be new videos of damaged equipment that is terrible for the Ukrainian population. There is a lot of it there - dozens of units. But the loss of personnel is much worse.

▪️Officiers Russian Spring military:
Fighters from the 291st and 70th regiments, special forces, artillerymen and mobilised guys from Moscow and the Moscow region are heroically holding the line.
The Ukrainian armed forces tried to break through the defences, but were unable to do so. Enemy losses were enormous.

Just a placeholder here, with more news likely to come tomorrow that may (or may not) confirm this.

Telegram channels are starting to report a Ukrainian debacle unlike any that the Russian commanders have seen, with huge numbers killed and no Ukrainian wounded able to be evacuated. Dozens of tanks and other vehicles are said to have been destroyed. No other details are published yet. If something on this scale has happened, then the Russian MoD will be sure to make a statement within 24 hours.
Russian Defence Ministry report on the progress of the special military operation (18 June 2023)

The report lists Ukrainian losses due to failed mass attacks over the last 24 hours as:

77 Tanks
74 Infantry Fighting Vehicles

Part 2: How CIA Steals Money From Americans

https://www.sott.net/image/s34/680712/full/cia_steal_money_america.jpg

The control over US financial assistance, which many American officials insist on, is caused not only by its significant volumes, but also numerous evidences of corruption in recipient countries.

The amount of money allocated for direct support of Ukraine from the US budget has already exceeded $100 billion, creating significant burden on American economy. Predictably, shortly after receiving the money, mentions of corruption among the Ukrainian military increasingly appeared in the media.

According to our sources, the issues related to the supply of weapons for the Ukrainian army are supervised by the head of the Main Directorate of Intelligence (GUR) Kyrylo Budanov. In this activity Serhiy Slyusarenko, the top manager of the Ukroboronprom State Concern is considered to be Budanov's right-hand man. Along with other Budanov's confidants (Roman Meleshko, Kostyantyn Cherednichenko and Borys Kaufman) Slyusarenko is one of the main beneficiaries of corruption schemes in the Ukrainian Ministry of Defence.

http://www.sott.net/image/s34/680714/large/corruption_ukraine_cia_steal_m.jpg
Serhiy Slyusarenko, former Director of the Ukrainian company “Ukrinmash”, founder “Encompass LLC”

Having analyzed all of the obtained documents as well as asking our informants in various countries, we managed to identify another American money theft scheme, involving the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and the CIA.

We have found out that Slyusarenko owns "Viktor Invest" company registered in Bulgaria through his nominees.

Contractors of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine ("SPETSIMIDZH LLC", "SEVENPORT LLC", "MIK LLC" and others) implement deals for the supply of ammunition, military devices and individual elements of weapons through "Viktor Invest".

These goods are purchased from trusted Chinese companies ("JINHU HT-GUTE PETROLEM EQUIPMENT CO." and "SIEYUAN ELECTRIC CO.") at low prices. The profit of "Viktor Invest" is cashed out and partially goes to Slyusarenko and Budanov in kickbacks.

We know that "Viktor Invest" is "protected" by a number of foreign companies, owned by US citizens.

http://www.sott.net/image/s34/680716/full/cia_steal_money_america.jpg

Thus, the main partners of "Viktor Invest" are "D.I.F. Investments" and "Lodging Partner Services Bulgaria EOOD" registered in Bulgaria, the Dutch "Interbay Holdings B.V." and American "Expedia Group".

The heads of "Lodging Partner Services Bulgaria EOOD" are American citizens Robert John Dzielak and Lance Allen Soliday - financiers in the "Expedia Group".

The head of the Dutch company "Interbay Holdings B.V." is also the US citizen Phillip Matthew Bexon.

The above-mentioned persons are active CIA officers, their supervisor Raymond Shultz, the "Gun Baron" was mentioned in the first part of our investigation.

These guys withdraw "Viktor Invest" company's profit to their companies' accounts and put some of the money in their own pockets (undeclared income). The remaining funds form the CIA's "secret cash box" used in global operations.

The "dirty" money is used to purchase weapons from the Bulgarian military holding industry.

Then, through the extensive logistics infrastructure in Bulgaria, weapons are illegally supplied to third countries (Afghanistan, Syria and Iraq) and used to overthrow governments (color revolutions), support extremist groups and rebels, etc.

Thus, American taxpayers' money is used to enrich the Ukrainian leadership, dishonest CIA officers as well as to finance terrorist activities around the world.

CIAgate strives to ensure that the United States coexists peacefully with other countries. However, most of them rely too heavily on our military might. For many years, our country has been waging active wars in the Middle East and Europe, causing several thousand dead, and many more wounded physically and mentally. Fighting international terrorism that our country entered into with genuinely good intentions has backfired, and given carte blanche to numerous radicals, causing a lot of tension around the world. We deeply believe a military can defend us well if we are attacked, but instead, we allocate billions to purchasing weapons and military equipment for unfamiliar countries like Ukraine. We remain committed to the principle of non-interference and want to put an end to the CIA activity abroad which runs counter to the United States' national interests.

A copy of the transcript that runs to over 40 pages (!) also now here: https://avalonlibrary.net/Ukraine/2022_Russian_invasion_%28Operation-Z%29/Vladimir_Putin_%28speeches%29/%5BTranscript%5D_2023-06-13_Meeting_with_war_correspondents_President_of_Russia_June_13_2023.pdf

Well worth reading imo, the contrast between this presentation and the sabre-rattling west equivalent, (I'm employing imagination as I am not aware of an equivalent), is night and day.

Edit: The document ended with a 'to be continued' closure. Was it the final question that prompted this?

Irina Kuksenkova: If I may, I have one more question about space, or rather, about space reconnaissance.

Vladimir Putin: It is time to wrap up.

Irina Kuksenkova: Yes, of course. According to open data, up to 100 military satellites are out there working for the enemy. They can see our troops and movements. Our space group is not as strong.

Vladimir Putin: Yes.

Irina Kuksenkova: What can we do about it and how should it be dealt with? This is a systemic issue, correct? Will it take years to improve things?

Vladimir Putin: Of course, it is not a secret. Without a doubt, we should have been engaging in space activities in a different manner in previous years. But we did not plan – I think this is clear – we did not plan either the events in Crimea, or the events that are taking place now.

To be continued.

A small but remarkable little story. (I remember also reading something very similar that happened last year.)

The text reads:
Staff at a Donetsk hospital rescued a wounded man at the risk of their own lives. A soldier had a 10-centimetre grenade fragment removed from his lung.
The operation lasted more than an hour, medics wore helmets and body armor, and pyrotechnicians were on duty in the operating room. Eventually the explosive object was removed. It was handed over to the rescuers for destruction.
The accompanying photo shows an X-ray of the man's lung, featuring a large white rectangular object stuck right in there. :flower:

And a more sobering post (https://t.me/Slavyangrad/51252), a very good English translation from the original at Readovka. (https://t.me/readovkaru/3576) Not only have there been mass Ukrainian casualties that shocked even some Russian commanders, but there were also hundreds of Ukrainian troops surrendering.

~~~
"We had enough of this war" - amid unsuccessful counter-offensive by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, mass surrender of enemy soldiers has been recorded.
Constant unsuccessful attacks, which result in huge losses, have a very negative impact on the morale of the soldiers of the AFU. For example, in the last two days alone, numerous videos have been published of Ukrainian soldiers surrendering.
And this is an extremely unpleasant wake-up call for the Kiev regime. After all, it is usually the soldiers of the defending side who surrender during an offensive, not the attacking troops. So this reverse disproportion in the number of prisoners of war is evidence of serious problems in the Ukrainian armed forces.
The reasons for these problems are absolutely transparent and clear. Russian minefields have not been cleared, artillery has not been suppressed and air cover has not been provided. It already sounds bleak. And then with such unfavourable inputs the "defenders" are sent to meat assaults without support of their armoured equipment and artillery.
The surprise here is not that the Ukrainians surrender and refuse to advance, but that someone else manages to be sent into these suicidal attacks. At the same time, the "fog of war" hides from us much of what goes on behind enemy lines.
Russian intelligence learns about the refusal of whole units to go into battle from the interrogations of prisoners and from the data of radio interception, but the number of deserters is still unknown. However, it is certain that with each day of this failed counterattack, more and more AFU soldiers will leave their units voluntarily.
In a fortnight of heavy fighting the enemy has not achieved any major success. The Ukrainian armed forces are trampling in the pre-field, bleeding to death.
Even the information received today about the occupation of the village of Pyatikhatka by Ukrainian troops can hardly be interpreted as any progress in the stalled offensive. The enemy troops have not even reached the main line of Russian fortifications in this section of the front.
The enemy command had less and less time to change its approach to the offensive. Otherwise, very soon the number of those who refuse will reach catastrophic proportions. And the counter-offensive will quieten down by itself, because there will simply be no one to attack.
A couple of things I picked up a few days ago really stuck with me, probably heard on The Duran as my go- to source of updates on the war each morning, or maybe a comment in an interview on The New Atlas (sorry this is a bit vague). Anyway someone referred to what is happening in Ukraine as mass murder; the other comment I recall was that (paraphrasing here) 'the West,' or those running this thing, do not care about Ukrainians or how many die in appalling conditions, as they are seen as related to Russians (which they certainly are on several levels). The psychopathy seems to be really that bad.
I myself can't see the war as anything less than strait-up murder (though it is more and worse than that too given multiple agendas), and maybe the surrendering soldiers are seeing that as well. What must it be like for Russian soldiers also to have to kill so many people they know haven't got much of a chance in battle.
What must it be like for Russian soldiers also to have to kill so many people they know haven't got much of a chance in battle.Yes. I can't locate the telegram post now, but a couple of days ago one Russian commander said [my paraphrase] that they merely wanted to defeat the Ukraine military, NOT murder every one of their soldiers. (And many of the deaths have been because the Ukrainians are no longer evacuating their own wounded, leaving them to slowly and agonizingly die wherever they fell.)
Here's a 30-second video that's a little tough to look at, but this seriously wounded Ukrainian soldier will survive. That's because he was rescued by the Russians, who are now giving him the best medical treatment that they can.
Stepan Bandera and Roman Shukhevych are the most notorious Ukrainian war criminals and Nazi collaborators, directly responsible for massacres of Poles, Jews and Soviet Ukrainians. According to various estimates, their victims numbered in the hundreds of thousands.
Both Bandera and Shukhevych are venerated as heroes in modern Ukraine.
Now imagine an icon featuring Hitler, Goebbels, and a Nazi flag in some Catholic church.
During the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah located in Lebanon where the latter achieved a strategic advantage leading the Zionist State to, more or less, “respect” their Northern border neighbours (which has not prevented them from attacking other neighbours in more sophisticated ways since), Hezbollah’s military leader stated in an interview that they had no respect for the technologically armed soldiers of the West, whether they were Israelis or Americans: for them, the only real fight would be between two men armed each with a knife.. Men with equal weapons, in other words, and that of course was another way of saying: with just their bare hands, or still differently: with just their martial arts abilities.
Chivalry would then be the rule. The distance to purely symbolical fighting – where entire armies fighting are replaced by just a 2-person match between their individual champions – a bare-handed fight between Joseph Biden and Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin for instance – would then be small.
All the rest is a form of mass murder. The way in which the West “wins” through technological superiority is in essence the expression and result of their basically racist attitude: they refuse the physical battle between two bodies because that would confront them with their own fundamental fear of life, their crippled desire, their incapacity to love, forgive, ...
The refusal to fight, this almost Luddite refusal to use armour in fighting may represent a glimmer of hope for future humanity – because the Russian army may acknowledge this as what it is: the return to innocence.
I hope and pray that they maximise a policy which is already theirs of destroying as much “Ukrainian” weaponry as possible as Ukrainian soliders are already doing themselves while at the same time maximising the possibilities for surrender which the Ukrainian soldiers are doing as well.
It should be noted that in the Soviet Union and modern Russia 99% of residents are vaccinated against the disease, but in Ukraine along with "decommunisation" the vaccine struggles has been actively developed.
We can see the results. It is important to note that thousands of AFU troops are stationed in Nikolayev.
No counter-offensive, now the Ukrainian military will fight the toilet bowl.
Here is an unusual archive from Eric Zuess (https://southfront.org/how-deeply-the-nazis-penetrated-the-u-s-government/):
Back in 1992, which was almost immediately AFTER the Soviet Union and its communism and its Warsaw Pact military alliance all had ended and the word from “on high” in the U.S.-and-allied sphere had not yet come down to the BBC’s management that the Cold War would now continue in order to defeat Russia itself, the BBC produced an historic documentary revealing its interviews with top participants in the CIA’s “Operation Gladio” (run by the CIA and MI6 through America’s NATO) telling how they had organized terrorist acts in and against U.S.-allied European countries.
These terrorist incidents were set up so as to be blamed against communists in those countries, in order to cause the publics there to fear and hate the Soviet Union; and the interviewees spoke with unimpeachable authority about this because they were obviously proud of having done it — they themselves hated communism and hated the Soviet Union. Many of the interviewees were titled aristocrats who had supported Hitler and Mussolini in U.S.-allied European countries, and they described incidents that had become written about in The West’s ‘history’ books regarding the Cold War as having actually BEEN incidents that were organized by the Soviet Union and by its adherents in west-European countries. And here they were now being filmed in interviews proudly telling how they had worked with the CIA and MI6 in order to defeat the Soviet Union in western Europe on the basis of lies and of terrorism that intentionally killed innocents in their own country.
Though BBC’s management didn’t yet know that U.S. President G.H.W. Bush had started on 24 February 1990 to inform the U.S.-allied heads-of-state privately, one-by-one, in separate meetings, and in secret, to continue the Cold War now against Russia until Russia itself becomes defeated by the U.S. and its allies, and that NATO must therefore (despite the merely verbal promises they all had made to Gorbachev to the exact contrary) be extended right up to Russia’s very borders, this information did ultimately become known to BBC’s management soon after the documentary was aired; and, so, the documentary isn’t to be found online in the BBC’s online archives, but someone happened to film the documentary from that person’s TV set and this grainy version of it is the one that subsequently became uploaded to youtube and became famous among honest and serious writers about the Cold War — a crucially important surviving primary source-document about the depths to which the U.S./UK Government had sunk in order not only to defeat the Soviet Union up till 1991, but especially in order to take control ultimately over the entire world — on the basis of lies that even to the present day deceive a majority in all publics within U.S./UK-and-allied (i.e., Anglo-American vassal or “colonial”) countries, and, so, into believing that today’s U.S. Government is anti-Nazi like it had been back during WW II when America’s President was the passionately anti-Nazi and anti-imperialist Franklin Delano Roosevelt (FDR).
(On 25 July 1945, his immediate successor, Harry S. Truman finally decided to take the advice from his hero General Dwight Eisenhower, and from Winston Churchill, that the U.S. Government ought to win control over the entire world, and that’s when the Cold War actually started.)
“Operation Gladio – Full 1992 documentary BBC”
GGHXjO8wHsA
Decades after-the-fact, the truth comes out that all the ‘news’ and even the ‘history’ books, were based on lies and frauds by psychopaths (basically, aristocrats or billionaires and their millions of agents from their corporations and lobbyists, and ‘news’-media and academia) — ultimately from the principals, not the mere agents — who secretly hold the real power behind what those liars and their agents and the deceived fools have been calling ‘democracies’ but that are instead heirs NOT of FDR, but instead of his enemy, fascist imperialism (such as of Hitler, Mussolini, and Hirohito) — i.e., fascist-imperialists, the dictatorial form of capitalism. (FDR secretly intended to defeat Churchill’s fascist-imperialism after WW II would end. But Truman reversed FDR; he privately despised FDR and within only two years replaced his entire Cabinet.) (As for President Eisenhower, he co-founded with Truman America’s MIC, and only at his Presidency’s very end did he publicly warn against it so that only his successors would get blamed for the monster that he and Truman had co-created. He was simiar to the Nobel Peace-Prize-winning Obama: the two supremely slick Presidents. Truman was just a bigoted fool.)
Operation Gladio never ended, and it was and is part of a much broader U.S./UK Government operation.
On 25 January 2023, Reuters headlined “Spanish police arrest man suspected in 2022 letter-bomb case”, and reported that, “The arrest came three days after the New York Times reported that investigators in recent weeks have focused on the Russian Imperial Movement, a radical group that has ties with far-right Spanish organizations with regard to the letter bombs. The group is believed to be linked to Russian intelligence agencies.” That seems like virtually a carbon copy of the type of ‘news’-reports that were being produced and disseminated throughout the U.S.-and-allied sphere against the Soviet Union back during the 1950s. In fact, all of the sanctions that the U.S./UK and its allies have imposed against Russia are based upon lies.
This type of performance by a government is inconsistent with its being a democracy; and, in fact, neither the U.S. nor the UK is authentically democratic. It’s all based on lies. Nazism and all other forms of fascism are. In fact, whereas Hitler and Mussolini were up-front about their contempt for democracy, the U.S./UK version lies to be ‘democratic’ instead of dictatorial, and it therefore is even more lie-based than the WW II version was.
Declassified files expose British role in NATO’s Gladio terror armies
Newly declassified British files shed disturbing light on the origins and internal workings of Operation Gladio, a covert NATO plot deploying fascist terror militias across Italy. Have spies in London applied these lessons in Ukraine?
Newly declassified British Foreign Office files have added disturbing details to the history of Operation Gladio. The covert operation was uncovered in 1990, when the public learned that the CIA, MI6 and NATO trained and directed an underground army of fascist paramilitary units across Europe, deploying its assets to undermine political opponents, including through false flag terror attacks.
Among them was a young Silvio Berlusconi, the media oligarch who served as Italian Prime Minister in four separate governments between 1994 and 2011. Listed as a member of the P2, the secret Cold War-era cabal of political elites devoted to Gladio’s aims, Berlusconi undoubtedly took some weighty secrets to the grave when he died this June 12th.
It is almost impossible to believe that inconvenient truths were not weeded from Britain’s documentary record on Operation Gladio prior to declassification. Nonetheless, the recently released material is highly illuminating. Covering a fraught twelve month period after the first public disclosure of Gladio’s existence, the papers illustrate how London’s foreign intelligence apparatus kept a keen eye on the continent as events unfolded.
The papers not only shed fresh light on the conspiracy, they underline Gladio’s relevance as British intelligence joins its America counterparts in contemporary plots involving secret partisan forces from Syria to Ukraine.
Various passages dotted across the tranche strongly suggest the British knew much more than they publicly admitted about egregious criminal deeds, including the attempted overthrow of an allied Italian government and the kidnap and murder of its leader.
A ‘clandestine resistance network’ goes to work
Gladio consisted of a constellation of “stay behind” anti-communist partisan armies whose ostensible mission was to fend off the Red Army in the event of Soviet invasion. In reality, these forces committed countless violent and criminal acts as part of a “strategy of tension” designed to discredit the left and justify a security state clampdown.
As Vincenzo Vinciguerra, a Gladio operative jailed for life in 1984 for a car bombing in Italy that killed three police officers and injured two, explained:
“You were supposed to attack civilians, women, children, innocent people from outside the political arena. The reason was simple, force the public to turn to the state and ask for greater security…People would willingly trade their freedom for the security of being able to walk the streets, go on trains or enter a bank. This was the political logic behind the bombings. They remain unpunished because the state cannot condemn itself.”
The scandal triggered in Western capitals by the exposure of Gladio dominated mainstream headlines for months. The European parliament responded by passing a resolution condemning the existence of a “clandestine parallel intelligence and armed operations organization [which] escaped all democratic controls, may have interfered illegally in the internal political affairs of member states [and] have at their disposal independent arsenals and military resources…thereby jeopardizing the democratic structures of the countries in which they are operating.”
The resolution called for independent judicial and parliamentary investigations into Gladio in every European state. But aside from inquiries in Belgium, Italy, and Switzerland, nothing of substance materialized. What’s more, investigators heavily redacted their findings while avoiding having them translated them into English. This may help explain why the historic scandal has been largely forgotten.
In this context, the newly declassified documents may be one of the most valuable primary sources to date offering new insights into the origins and internal workings of NATO’s secret terror militias in Italy.
Take for example an aide-mémoire (see it here) prepared by Francesco Fulci, Italy’s permanent representative to the UN, which was shared at a “super-restricted” November 6th 1990 meeting of the North Atlantic Council, NATO’s principal political decision-making body, then forwarded to senior British officials at home and abroad.
Based on a note provided by Rome’s then-premier Giulio Andreotti to “the Head of the Italian Parliamentary Commission investigating terrorist incidents,” the aide-mémoire begins by noting that following World War II, Western intelligence agencies devised “unconventional means of defence, by creating in their territories a hidden network of resistance aimed at operating, in case of enemy occupation, through information gathering, sabotage, propaganda and guerrilla warfare.”
According to the aide-mémoire, authorities in Rome began laying the foundations of such an organization in 1951. Four years later, Italian Military Intelligence (SIFAR) and “a corresponding allied service” – a reference to the CIA – then formally agreed on the organization and the activities of a “post-occupation clandestine network”:
“[Gladio] was; formed by agents active in the territory who, by virtue of their age, sex and activities, could reasonably avoid eventual deportation and-imprisonment by the foreign occupiers; easy to manage even from a command structure outside the occupied territory; at a top secret level and hence subdivided into ‘cells’ so as to minimize any possible damage caused by defections, accidents or network penetration.”
The “clandestine resistance network” was subdivided into separate branches, covering information operations, sabotage, propaganda, radio communications, cypher, reception and evacuation of people and equipment. Each of these structures was to operate autonomously, “with liaison and coordination ensured by an external base.”
SIFAR established a dedicated, secret section to recruit and train Gladio operatives. Meanwhile, it maintained five “ready deployment guerrilla units in areas of special interest” across Italy which awaited activation on a continuous basis.
“Operational materials”, including a wide variety of explosives, weapons – such as mortars, hand grenades, guns and knives – and ammunition were stashed in 139 secret underground caches across the country. In April 1972, “to improve security,” these arsenals were exhumed, and moved to offices of the Carabinieri, Rome’s military police, near the original sites.
Only 127 of the weapons storehouses were officially recovered. The aide-mémoir states that at least two “were very likely taken away by unknown persons” at the time they were buried, in October 1964. Who these operatives were and what they did with their stolen arms is left to the imagination.
British involvement in the coup effort
Fulci was eventually quizzed by attendees of the North Atlantic Council summit “as to whether Gladio had deviated from its proper objectives.” In other words, beyond operating strictly as a “stay behind” force, to be activated in the event of Soviet invasion. While “he could not add to what was in the aide-mémoire,” Fulci confirmed “weapons used in some terrorist incidents had come from stores established by Gladio.”
This may reflect the fact that political violence was one of Gladio’s “proper objectives.” A June 1959 SIFAR report unearthed by historian Daniele Ganser confirms guerrilla action against “domestic threats” was hardwired into the operation from its inception. In the Italian context, this entailed systematically terrorizing the left.
As the Italian Communist party surged in polls ahead of the country’s 1948 election, the CIA pumped money into the coffers of the Christian Democrats and an attendant anti-communist propaganda campaign. The cloak-and-dagger effort was so successful in preventing the outbreak of a left-wing government in Rome that Langley secretly intervened in every one of Rome’s elections for at least the next 24 years.
Yet the covert CIA operations were insufficient to prevent Italians from occasionally electing the wrong governments. The 1963 general election saw the Christian Democrats prevail again, this time under the leadership of left-leaning politician Aldo Moro, who sought to construct a coalition with the Socialists and Democratic Socialists. Over the next year, protracted disputes erupted between these parties over what form their administration would take.
Douglas Macgregor - This Is What’s Going To Happen Next…
Mod note from Bill:
This video is over 3 weeks old, and while I'm a huge fan of Doug Macgregor, and nothing he says here is incorrect, it was recorded before the current Ukrainian counteroffensive and therefore in this fast-moving situation is already out of date. (What actually DID 'happen next' isn't mentioned.)
The channel is one of several which steals Macgregor's interviews with others and then re-uploads them days or weeks later as their own, with no reference to the original source or date.
Please do listen yourself to the videos you post. There's every reason for us to believe that you quite often don't do this.
MintPress investigation has found that a host of Western government officials, intelligence agents and assets have been directly involved in intimate collaboration with Nazi groups and individuals since at least 2014. This has included involvement in creating and operating the Nazi-run kill list in Ukraine, which MintPress revealed recently.
While Western media have belatedly been forced to concede that there are Nazi influences in Ukraine, many journalists have insisted that the visible fascist patches on uniforms are only there to troll Russians and that they are insignificant and a gift to Russian propaganda. Still, other journalists admit to asking Ukrainian service members to cover up their Nazi symbols. Yet, as we shall see, this collaboration goes much further.
Perhaps a good place to start is with the ongoing role of a key intelligence-linked official who has taken on a propaganda role on behalf of Ukraine since the launch in February 2022 of what the Russian government calls its “Special Military Operation.” Meet Cormac Smith, a member of the first Irish bobsleigh team to qualify for the Winter Olympics in 1992. He has appeared in scores of news reports passing on Western propaganda talking points about the role of Russia in Ukraine. But who is Smith working for?
‼️🇺🇦☠️Due to the heavy losses and slipping of the "counterattack" in Ivano-Frankivsk region, unprecedented measures are being introduced for general mobilization: planned hospitalization of men is prohibited
▪️In the region, it was forbidden to put men of military age in hospitals - from 18 to 59 years old, now only the military registration and enlistment office can allow this. This was stated at a briefing by the head of the Kolomyia military administration, Lubomir Glushkov.
▪️The order says that the Department of Health was ordered to bring to hospitals in the Ivano-Frankivsk region the rule on "temporary suspension of planned hospitalizations of patients liable for military service without agreement with the TCC."
▪️Also, every day until 11 am, hospitals must notify the military registration and enlistment offices about the arrival of those liable for military service who need urgent help.
▪️Another point of the order - now everyone who did not have documents at the checkpoint will be taken to the police for identification.
Putin about the offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
1. At the moment, we are seeing a lull, because the enemy is suffering serious losses.
2. As of June 21, 245 Ukrainian tanks and about 680 armored vehicles of various types have already been destroyed.
3. Among the destroyed weapons of the Armed Forces of Ukraine there is a lot of foreign equipment that "burns for a sweet soul."
4. The Armed Forces of Ukraine understand that they have no chance against the Russian Armed Forces. The offensive potential of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has not yet been exhausted, the enemy still has reserves.
🇵🇱 Residents of Poland are filing lawsuits against German companies demanding compensation for the damage caused to their ancestors during World War II.
Polish media write about a lawsuit against Bayer, which was sent by the daughter of an engineer who worked at the factory as a prisoner of the Auschwitz concentration camp. She is demanding about $400,000 for the suffering and lost income of her father, as well as an apology.
The second lawsuit was filed by the grandchildren of entrepreneur Leopold Wellisch, who fled Poland in 1939 because of his Jewish roots. They demand more than $4 million from the Henschel company, which bought a factory founded by Velisch during the occupation.
Earlier, the Polish authorities demanded $1.3 trillion from Germany as reparations and intend to address the same issue to Russia.
Not a week goes by without one of Ukraine's neo-Nazis making yet another Goebbels-style statement about their plans to exterminate Russians.
This time again, Podolyak, an adviser to Zelensky's head of office, has "distinguished himself". Talking about the coveted counterattack by the AFU, he said verbatim the following: "There is one plan: push forward as hard as possible with maximum killing of Russians on this route."
Nazi criminals will face the punishment they deserve and will be held accountable for their crimes.
The tasks of denazification and demilitarization of Ukraine will be fulfilled, as the Russian leadership has stated.
Gilbert Doctorow: End game in the Ukraine war approaches with lightning speed
Today Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu made an announcement that has not yet been carried in Western media but which is of the most grave nature.
According to the latest intelligence reports, Russia believes that the Ukrainian armed forces now intend to cover their failed counter-offensive in the Donbas by using US-supplied Himars multiple launch artillery and UK-supplied Storm Shadow cruise missiles, possibly in the longer range domestic version, to attack the Crimea.
If this happens, says Shoigu, Russia will consider both the United States and Britain to have fully entered the war as co-belligerents. And Russia will immediately respond to any such attack on its territory by destroying “the decision making centers” of the Kiev regime. This is a fairly transparent threat to “neutralize” their government apparatus and personnel, logically including President Zelensky.
The statement by Shoigu leaves little doubt that we are entering the final phase of the Ukraine war as a war limited to the geography of Ukraine, and are possibly heading into a wider war with unforeseeable consequences both for Europeans and (finally) for Americans.
The ball is in the court of Washington and London.
Here is an unusual archive from Eric Zuess (https://southfront.org/how-deeply-the-nazis-penetrated-the-u-s-government/):
Back in 1992, which was almost immediately AFTER the Soviet Union and its communism and its Warsaw Pact military alliance all had ended and the word from “on high” in the U.S.-and-allied sphere had not yet come down to the BBC’s management that the Cold War would now continue in order to defeat Russia itself, the BBC produced an historic documentary revealing its interviews with top participants in the CIA’s “Operation Gladio” (run by the CIA and MI6 through America’s NATO) telling how they had organized terrorist acts in and against U.S.-allied European countries.
These terrorist incidents were set up so as to be blamed against communists in those countries, in order to cause the publics there to fear and hate the Soviet Union; and the interviewees spoke with unimpeachable authority about this because they were obviously proud of having done it — they themselves hated communism and hated the Soviet Union. Many of the interviewees were titled aristocrats who had supported Hitler and Mussolini in U.S.-allied European countries, and they described incidents that had become written about in The West’s ‘history’ books regarding the Cold War as having actually BEEN incidents that were organized by the Soviet Union and by its adherents in west-European countries. And here they were now being filmed in interviews proudly telling how they had worked with the CIA and MI6 in order to defeat the Soviet Union in western Europe on the basis of lies and of terrorism that intentionally killed innocents in their own country.
Though BBC’s management didn’t yet know that U.S. President G.H.W. Bush had started on 24 February 1990 to inform the U.S.-allied heads-of-state privately, one-by-one, in separate meetings, and in secret, to continue the Cold War now against Russia until Russia itself becomes defeated by the U.S. and its allies, and that NATO must therefore (despite the merely verbal promises they all had made to Gorbachev to the exact contrary) be extended right up to Russia’s very borders, this information did ultimately become known to BBC’s management soon after the documentary was aired; and, so, the documentary isn’t to be found online in the BBC’s online archives, but someone happened to film the documentary from that person’s TV set and this grainy version of it is the one that subsequently became uploaded to youtube and became famous among honest and serious writers about the Cold War — a crucially important surviving primary source-document about the depths to which the U.S./UK Government had sunk in order not only to defeat the Soviet Union up till 1991, but especially in order to take control ultimately over the entire world — on the basis of lies that even to the present day deceive a majority in all publics within U.S./UK-and-allied (i.e., Anglo-American vassal or “colonial”) countries, and, so, into believing that today’s U.S. Government is anti-Nazi like it had been back during WW II when America’s President was the passionately anti-Nazi and anti-imperialist Franklin Delano Roosevelt (FDR).
(On 25 July 1945, his immediate successor, Harry S. Truman finally decided to take the advice from his hero General Dwight Eisenhower, and from Winston Churchill, that the U.S. Government ought to win control over the entire world, and that’s when the Cold War actually started.)
“Operation Gladio – Full 1992 documentary BBC”
GGHXjO8wHsA
Decades after-the-fact, the truth comes out that all the ‘news’ and even the ‘history’ books, were based on lies and frauds by psychopaths (basically, aristocrats or billionaires and their millions of agents from their corporations and lobbyists, and ‘news’-media and academia) — ultimately from the principals, not the mere agents — who secretly hold the real power behind what those liars and their agents and the deceived fools have been calling ‘democracies’ but that are instead heirs NOT of FDR, but instead of his enemy, fascist imperialism (such as of Hitler, Mussolini, and Hirohito) — i.e., fascist-imperialists, the dictatorial form of capitalism. (FDR secretly intended to defeat Churchill’s fascist-imperialism after WW II would end. But Truman reversed FDR; he privately despised FDR and within only two years replaced his entire Cabinet.) (As for President Eisenhower, he co-founded with Truman America’s MIC, and only at his Presidency’s very end did he publicly warn against it so that only his successors would get blamed for the monster that he and Truman had co-created. He was simiar to the Nobel Peace-Prize-winning Obama: the two supremely slick Presidents. Truman was just a bigoted fool.)
Operation Gladio never ended, and it was and is part of a much broader U.S./UK Government operation.
On 25 January 2023, Reuters headlined “Spanish police arrest man suspected in 2022 letter-bomb case”, and reported that, “The arrest came three days after the New York Times reported that investigators in recent weeks have focused on the Russian Imperial Movement, a radical group that has ties with far-right Spanish organizations with regard to the letter bombs. The group is believed to be linked to Russian intelligence agencies.” That seems like virtually a carbon copy of the type of ‘news’-reports that were being produced and disseminated throughout the U.S.-and-allied sphere against the Soviet Union back during the 1950s. In fact, all of the sanctions that the U.S./UK and its allies have imposed against Russia are based upon lies.
This type of performance by a government is inconsistent with its being a democracy; and, in fact, neither the U.S. nor the UK is authentically democratic. It’s all based on lies. Nazism and all other forms of fascism are. In fact, whereas Hitler and Mussolini were up-front about their contempt for democracy, the U.S./UK version lies to be ‘democratic’ instead of dictatorial, and it therefore is even more lie-based than the WW II version was.
Declassified files expose British role in NATO’s Gladio terror armies
Newly declassified British files shed disturbing light on the origins and internal workings of Operation Gladio, a covert NATO plot deploying fascist terror militias across Italy. Have spies in London applied these lessons in Ukraine?
Newly declassified British Foreign Office files have added disturbing details to the history of Operation Gladio. The covert operation was uncovered in 1990, when the public learned that the CIA, MI6 and NATO trained and directed an underground army of fascist paramilitary units across Europe, deploying its assets to undermine political opponents, including through false flag terror attacks.
Among them was a young Silvio Berlusconi, the media oligarch who served as Italian Prime Minister in four separate governments between 1994 and 2011. Listed as a member of the P2, the secret Cold War-era cabal of political elites devoted to Gladio’s aims, Berlusconi undoubtedly took some weighty secrets to the grave when he died this June 12th.
It is almost impossible to believe that inconvenient truths were not weeded from Britain’s documentary record on Operation Gladio prior to declassification. Nonetheless, the recently released material is highly illuminating. Covering a fraught twelve month period after the first public disclosure of Gladio’s existence, the papers illustrate how London’s foreign intelligence apparatus kept a keen eye on the continent as events unfolded.
The papers not only shed fresh light on the conspiracy, they underline Gladio’s relevance as British intelligence joins its America counterparts in contemporary plots involving secret partisan forces from Syria to Ukraine.
Various passages dotted across the tranche strongly suggest the British knew much more than they publicly admitted about egregious criminal deeds, including the attempted overthrow of an allied Italian government and the kidnap and murder of its leader.
A ‘clandestine resistance network’ goes to work
Gladio consisted of a constellation of “stay behind” anti-communist partisan armies whose ostensible mission was to fend off the Red Army in the event of Soviet invasion. In reality, these forces committed countless violent and criminal acts as part of a “strategy of tension” designed to discredit the left and justify a security state clampdown.
As Vincenzo Vinciguerra, a Gladio operative jailed for life in 1984 for a car bombing in Italy that killed three police officers and injured two, explained:
“You were supposed to attack civilians, women, children, innocent people from outside the political arena. The reason was simple, force the public to turn to the state and ask for greater security…People would willingly trade their freedom for the security of being able to walk the streets, go on trains or enter a bank. This was the political logic behind the bombings. They remain unpunished because the state cannot condemn itself.”
The scandal triggered in Western capitals by the exposure of Gladio dominated mainstream headlines for months. The European parliament responded by passing a resolution condemning the existence of a “clandestine parallel intelligence and armed operations organization [which] escaped all democratic controls, may have interfered illegally in the internal political affairs of member states [and] have at their disposal independent arsenals and military resources…thereby jeopardizing the democratic structures of the countries in which they are operating.”
The resolution called for independent judicial and parliamentary investigations into Gladio in every European state. But aside from inquiries in Belgium, Italy, and Switzerland, nothing of substance materialized. What’s more, investigators heavily redacted their findings while avoiding having them translated them into English. This may help explain why the historic scandal has been largely forgotten.
In this context, the newly declassified documents may be one of the most valuable primary sources to date offering new insights into the origins and internal workings of NATO’s secret terror militias in Italy.
Take for example an aide-mémoire (see it here) prepared by Francesco Fulci, Italy’s permanent representative to the UN, which was shared at a “super-restricted” November 6th 1990 meeting of the North Atlantic Council, NATO’s principal political decision-making body, then forwarded to senior British officials at home and abroad.
Based on a note provided by Rome’s then-premier Giulio Andreotti to “the Head of the Italian Parliamentary Commission investigating terrorist incidents,” the aide-mémoire begins by noting that following World War II, Western intelligence agencies devised “unconventional means of defence, by creating in their territories a hidden network of resistance aimed at operating, in case of enemy occupation, through information gathering, sabotage, propaganda and guerrilla warfare.”
According to the aide-mémoire, authorities in Rome began laying the foundations of such an organization in 1951. Four years later, Italian Military Intelligence (SIFAR) and “a corresponding allied service” – a reference to the CIA – then formally agreed on the organization and the activities of a “post-occupation clandestine network”:
“[Gladio] was; formed by agents active in the territory who, by virtue of their age, sex and activities, could reasonably avoid eventual deportation and-imprisonment by the foreign occupiers; easy to manage even from a command structure outside the occupied territory; at a top secret level and hence subdivided into ‘cells’ so as to minimize any possible damage caused by defections, accidents or network penetration.”
The “clandestine resistance network” was subdivided into separate branches, covering information operations, sabotage, propaganda, radio communications, cypher, reception and evacuation of people and equipment. Each of these structures was to operate autonomously, “with liaison and coordination ensured by an external base.”
SIFAR established a dedicated, secret section to recruit and train Gladio operatives. Meanwhile, it maintained five “ready deployment guerrilla units in areas of special interest” across Italy which awaited activation on a continuous basis.
“Operational materials”, including a wide variety of explosives, weapons – such as mortars, hand grenades, guns and knives – and ammunition were stashed in 139 secret underground caches across the country. In April 1972, “to improve security,” these arsenals were exhumed, and moved to offices of the Carabinieri, Rome’s military police, near the original sites.
Only 127 of the weapons storehouses were officially recovered. The aide-mémoir states that at least two “were very likely taken away by unknown persons” at the time they were buried, in October 1964. Who these operatives were and what they did with their stolen arms is left to the imagination.
British involvement in the coup effort
Fulci was eventually quizzed by attendees of the North Atlantic Council summit “as to whether Gladio had deviated from its proper objectives.” In other words, beyond operating strictly as a “stay behind” force, to be activated in the event of Soviet invasion. While “he could not add to what was in the aide-mémoire,” Fulci confirmed “weapons used in some terrorist incidents had come from stores established by Gladio.”
This may reflect the fact that political violence was one of Gladio’s “proper objectives.” A June 1959 SIFAR report unearthed by historian Daniele Ganser confirms guerrilla action against “domestic threats” was hardwired into the operation from its inception. In the Italian context, this entailed systematically terrorizing the left.
As the Italian Communist party surged in polls ahead of the country’s 1948 election, the CIA pumped money into the coffers of the Christian Democrats and an attendant anti-communist propaganda campaign. The cloak-and-dagger effort was so successful in preventing the outbreak of a left-wing government in Rome that Langley secretly intervened in every one of Rome’s elections for at least the next 24 years.
Yet the covert CIA operations were insufficient to prevent Italians from occasionally electing the wrong governments. The 1963 general election saw the Christian Democrats prevail again, this time under the leadership of left-leaning politician Aldo Moro, who sought to construct a coalition with the Socialists and Democratic Socialists. Over the next year, protracted disputes erupted between these parties over what form their administration would take.
Belgium.. (sigh).
Belgium, which as the Southern part of one of Europe‘s core civilisations has degenerated to become a sort of suburbia of Brussels D.C., both the capital of the European Union and the site of NATO headquarters, had the honour of having the third largest % of victims to Gladio in Europe, after Greece and Italy. Greece had most because of the putsch by the “Colonels” junta, Italy because of the “danger” of the two largest parties, the Christian Democrats and the Communist Party (Moscow-independent) forming a government coalition – and Belgium? Well, because it was – and still is – a sort of suburbia of Brussels D.C., both the capital of the European Union and the site of NATO headquarters.
Among all Nazi-occupied countries, Belgium had the highest percentage of lives of Jewish citizens saved by its citizens; I fear the country has grown a little more obedient to its masters by now.
It will not become them well when the IIIrd World War mongers really turn on the gas ovens.
Let NATO fight, Russia is prepared – Lavrov
The Western bloc has committed to fighting Russia in Ukraine, the foreign minister said
Russia is prepared for NATO to continue to fight in Ukraine, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Tuesday. Several days earlier, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg rejected any moves to “freeze” the conflict, despite mounting Ukrainian losses.
In an interview with Germany’s Welt am Sonntag published on Sunday, Stoltenberg declared that “peace cannot mean freezing the conflict and accepting a deal that is dictated by Russia.” Stoltenberg added that “only Ukraine can define the conditions that are acceptable,” an explicit endorsement of Kiev’s vow to drive Russian forces back to pre-conflict borders and seize the Russian territory of Crimea.
“If NATO, through the mouth of Stoltenberg, once again declares that they are against freezing, as they say, the conflict in Ukraine, then they want to fight,” Lavrov told a press conference. “Well, let them fight, we are ready for this, we have long understood the goals of NATO in the situation around Ukraine, which have been formed for many years.”
While Lavrov claimed that some Western leaders are beginning to “sober up” about the nature of the conflict, Kiev has demanded that the weapons keep flowing. “Nothing will be enough, however much they send, because if there is no victory, that means it was not enough,” Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba said in an interview on Monday.
With Ukraine’s ongoing counteroffensive faltering against a “well-prepared” Russian defense, Stoltenberg told reporters on Monday that NATO states would soon send equipment to help Ukrainian troops clear Russian minefields. He did not say, however, what kind of equipment would be sent, or which members would provide it.
Last month, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told the TASS news agency that Moscow was “in solidarity” with the West about the fact that the conflict cannot be “frozen.” He said the only option that Moscow is currently considering is “completing the special military operation” or demilitarizing Ukraine and securing its neutrality by force.
Ukrainians know they have ‘no chance’ against Russia – Putin 21 Jun, 2023
The Russian president offered an explanation as to why Kiev’s offensive was halted
Ukraine has stopped major offensive operations after realizing its forces could not win, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Wednesday.
“Thanks to the courage and heroism of our soldiers and the readiness of commanders to repulse any aggressive actions against Russia, it seems to me that the enemy has no chance. They understand this, which is why they stopped,” Putin told journalist Pavel Zarubin at the Kremlin.
Kiev’s forces are currently in the process of rebuilding their brigades, which took serious losses, Putin explained, but fear that taking more casualties at this rate will eliminate the combat capability of not just their strategic reserve, but their entire military.
At this moment, Putin said, “offensive operations are not ongoing,” only elements of combat such as shelling and reconnaissance in force.
Retired general Andrey Kartapolov, who commanded the Russian expedition in Syria in 2016-17, has also estimated that Ukraine will exhaust its offensive capability by the end of June at this rate, with 40% of its force in the theater already rendered combat ineffective.
🇮🇱 🇺🇦 Zelensky's wife, she is the first lady of Ukraine, received an Israeli passport on June 19, 2023.
🔹 If this is true, then questions arise: why should the president’s wife now obtain citizenship of another country, did she open an account in an Israeli bank along the way, how soon will Zelensky receive political asylum in Israel.
🔹 Ukrainians will not ask such questions. They are already intimidated by mobilization, wild tariffs for a communal apartment, general devastation and lawlessness of the security forces.
🔹 Note that the visit of Elena Zelenskaya to Israel was expected. She planned to meet with the wife of the President of Israel, Michal Herzog, and visit Ukrainian militants undergoing rehabilitation in Israel.
https://thecradle.co/article-view/26255/extremists-who-left-syria-to-fight-in-ukraine-realize-journey-futile-expert
Extremists who left Syria to fight in Ukraine realize journey ‘futile’: Expert
Egyptian researcher and political analyst Ahmad Sultan was quoted as saying on 21 June that many of the extremist militants who left Syria for the Ukrainian battlefield last year have realized that the fight against Russia is futile.
“The jihadists have realized that the situation in Ukraine is difficult for them, and that the arena there is not suitable for them, and that their fight against Russia is a lost battle,” Sultan said.
“Among the jihadists who returned [to Syria] recently is the leader Abdel Hakim al-Shishani … he is one of the most prominent leaders who left with their fighters from Idlib to Ukraine,” he added.
“Dozens of foreign jihadists, especially Chechens, led by Abdel Hakim al-Shishani, the leader of the Soldiers of the Caucasus group, left Idlib in northern Syria and relocated to the fronts against Russian forces in Ukraine,” Sultan went on to explain, adding that Shishani made his way back to Syria “recently.”
Shishani is a Chechen militant leader who was in charge of the Idlib-based group of foreign fighters, Soldiers of the Caucasus.
At the start of the year, Lebanese daily Al-Akhbar reported that after several months of disappearance, the well-known Chechen extremist appeared in Ukraine as part of Kiev’s ‘international legion.’ The Chechen commander appeared in a video posted by the official Twitter account of Ukraine’s defense intelligence.
According to Sultan, Shishani and his Soldiers of the Caucasus were stationed on the fronts near Bakhmut, the eastern Ukrainian city which just last month fell to Russian forces.
“The available data confirms that there are countries that facilitated the process of these fighters’ exit from Syria to Ukraine and that the process of transferring foreign fighters was planned by intelligence services affiliated with countries involved in the conflict inside Ukraine,” the Egyptian researcher continued.
According to Al-Akhbar’s January report, Turkish intelligence played a leading role in facilitating the transfer of militants from Syria to Ukraine.
Sultan adds that these cross-country transfers of militants were ignored by the US coalition operating in Syria, which he said “raises questions.”
Since the start of the war in Ukraine, hundreds of Syria-based militants belonging to ISIS, Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), and other groups, have made their way to the eastern European country.
“The transfer of foreign fighters suggests that there is an attempt to recreate the scenario of the Afghan-Soviet war in Ukraine. There are fundamental differences between the two cases, but this did not prevent some countries from using the same tactics,” he concluded.
During the war against the Soviets in Afghanistan, foreign militants joined the Afghan side under heavy backing from the US and Saudi Arabia.
US-backing for the ‘Mujahideen’ in Afghanistan throughout the 1980s resulted in the formation of what is today known as Al-Qaeda. This was admitted by Hilary Clinton in 2009.
After receiving long-range British Storm Shadow missiles, he had such an opportunity.
The supply of troops to the South-Donetsk and Zaporozhye fronts is not limited to the Crimea, but also goes through the Donbass, with the Kherson region - all the supplies go through the Crimea.
After the Kakhovka reservoir dries up, an attempt is expected to attack on the Kherson front. It is possible to strike the bridges in preparation for this offensive, when the damaged bridges make it difficult to quickly transfer reinforcements.
🇷🇺⚔️🇺🇦The fiercest battles are going on, it is a dangerous delusion to believe that the enemy is not capable of success
A. Khodakovsky, Deputy Head of the Russian Guard for the DPR, about the enemy’s offensive on the Zaporozhye and South Donetsk fronts in the area of the Vremevsky salient:
▪️ The lack of outstanding successes of the enemy can settle the idea that he is basically incapable of success. This is a dangerous delusion. It is worth a lot of effort for us to restrain its pressure, and its low effectiveness is due, first of all, to the dedication of our soldiers and officers. My brother in spirit writes to me - the deputy commander of the airborne brigade: 17 days in a row, as a platoon commander, with soldiers - either on the offensive, or repulsing enemy attacks - the most fierce battles ...
The deputy brigade commander, in whose brigade there was not too much left of the original composition, by personal example carried away the new replenishment with him. He went down from the headquarters into the trenches, realizing that the only way he could strengthen the not always motivated soldiers - and they stand and fight. Of course, the enemy is also not made of steel and fireproof plastic - he also does not want to die. At the same time, when you read that he is being trained somewhere in Poland to manage imported tanks, you take this into account. But when it slips that the training courses are five days long, it becomes clear who manages the western coffins on the battlefield: the crew barely has time to learn the main buttons and levers during these five days.
▪️ In general, as Tolstoy said, war must be taken strictly and seriously. The general battle has just begun, and it is not a fact that it will be the last.
1671760232635158528:bump:
Bumping this, as it might well be significant.
Putin's restraint has been extraordinary (contrary to anything anyone might read in western media propaganda), and the danger is that the many 'red lines' that have been crossed — and quietly thus far ignored by Russia — just encourages NATO and the US to push more and more, assuming that Russia is weak and cannot or will not respond.
One factor in all this is that Russia's 'go-slow' patience has been a cornerstone of its diplomatic stance presented to the rest of the world (the 'global south', which is a significant majority or nations), and has earned it respect, friendship, support, and the ignoring of sanctions and other US threats.
Meanwhile, the US has been alienating itself from most of the rest of the world more and more literally every week.
But at some point, the US (and more likely, Europe) may be greatly shocked by military actions that Russia might take to strike against (e.g.) bases or command centers outside of Ukraine — which it's absolutely 100% capable of doing.
I'm sure this is correct. Russia have sacrificed short term military success, in favour of preparing (showing themselves worthy of, and able to deliver) long-term strategic alliances of many kinds - perhaps especially with China; but also the other BRICS nations (now continually expanding). Since before Feb 2022; Russia have been preparing for the possibility of all-out war against all of NATO, for which they would need international support of several kinds.
All out war of NATO against Russia is what is wanted at the very highest level IMO - not so that NATO will win, as in hope that NATO and Russia will mutually destroy each other.
I presume that is why the most actively-evil demon-serving of the Western leadership class are so determined to get Ukr into NATO ASAP - because they will argue that NATO will then "have to" intervene openly and without holding-back (instead of at present covertly, and by dribs and drabs).
Perhaps. But we also found that after a twenty-year stint, a member may exit NATO, without, I think, any penalties. The worse the alliance looks, the more likely this could be given serious consideration.
The Ukrainian Counter-Offensive Had No Chance. NATO Failed To Explain That.
June 23, 2023
The 'west' pushed Ukraine into a hopeless counter-offensive based on false assessments and wild expectations.
Russian troops were claimed to be weak, untrained and unprepared for an Ukrainian attack. On the other side it was claimed that the freshly mobilized Ukrainian men which received 'western' weapons and training would have the necessary quantity and quality to overcome Russian defenses.
Ukrainian troops, as well as the public, were told to believe that bull****.
Lord Bebo @MyLordBebo - 0:55 UTC · Jun 23, 2023
NATO training explained by an Ukrainian POW
-> Psychologists trained them to not be afraid and that Russia is exhausted and weak ...
Any rational and neutral military assessment showed a far more realistic picture. One in which Russia would always defeat the planned counter-offensive.
At the end of 2022 the Ukrainian army had been exhausted and had been already been destroyed twice. The Russians had first destroyed large parts of the original equipment of the Ukrainian army and then the Soviet era equipment that was brought to Ukraine from former Warsaw Pact nations.
More importantly they had killed or wounded many of the experienced non-commissioned staff (Sergeants etc) and lower rank officers of the Ukrainian military that command and are the core of each company. The newly mobilized Ukrainian forces did not have the knowledge or training necessary to replace them.
'Western' equipment is more complex than Soviet era stuff. It also requires more specialized maintenance. The Ukraine received a zoo. The many types of equipment and the many incompatible kinds of ammunition they use are a logistic nightmare.
'Western' training for the mobilized Ukrainian forces did not bring up more capable soldiers than Soviet training would have done. Those who watched NATO stumble in Yugoslavia, Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya should have recognized that.
Russian on the other side mobilized 300,000 soldiers who mostly had been contract soldiers before they had returned to private life. They received extensive refresher training. They now mostly get paid more than in their civilian life which certainly helped to increase their motivation.
Russia also changed the structure of its military. The main Russian fighting force in 2022 was made up of Brigade Tactical Groups (BIG). Each of them was part of a garrison brigade which next to the one contract soldier BTG had additional battalions that were mostly training conscripts. Under Russian laws the conscript battalions could not be used on foreign ground.
The fighting BTG's had few real infantry soldiers. Next to their 9 infantry platoons they had 8 artillery and 5 auxiliary platoons. Of a total of some 800 plus soldiers in a BTG only 200 were actually infantry that could man the trenches. The whole structure was too big and too difficult to command.
After the mobilization had brought up enough men the Russian military changed from BTGs to a mobile brigade structure. Under a higher commander the brigade holds two or three battalions that each consist of three or four companies of mobile infantry or tanks. Most of the artillery and auxiliary troops of the former BTGs are now concentrated under the brigade structure and can be used more flexible wherever they are needed. The tooth to tail ratio in the frontline battalions is now much higher than in a BTG and the whole structure is easier to command.
Above the newly structured brigades are now division commands which have additional assets like air defenses, attack helicopters and electronic warfare units. They direct the brigades within a wider front and with a bigger picture in mind.
While a lack of contract infantry necessitated the BTG structure of 2022 the additionally mobilized forces allowed in 2023 to return to the more efficient classic structures of battalions under brigades under divisions. All this was visible through the reports from the Russian military which had stopped to mention BTGs and changed to brigade numbers. For an unbiased military mind it was easy to see that this new Russian force would be a more balanced and better one.
Satellite pictures had shown for months that the Russian troops were building extensive defense structures like trench lines and anti-tank barriers. They are by the way still adding to them.
In the spring of 2023 the Ukrainian army was much weaker than when the war started. The Russian military had grown and was stronger. It also had well prepared positions. 'Western' politicians, the propagandized public and military commands failed to recognize those facts.
NATO had simulated the Ukrainian counter-offensive:
Logic dictates that any responsible use of the KORA simulation system would have predicted the failure of the 47th Brigade’s attack. According to The Washington Post, the officers of the 47th Brigade “planned their assaults and then let the [KORA] program show them the results – how their Russian enemies might respond, where they could make a breakthrough and where they would suffer losses.” The KORA simulation allowed the Ukrainian officers to coordinate their actions “to test how they’d work together on the battlefield.”
Given that the Ukrainian force structure was insufficient to accomplish the mission-critical task of suppression, there was no chance for the Ukrainian forces to accomplish the actual assault requirements of a breaching operation – the destruction of enemy forces on the opposite side of the obstacle barrier being breached. The Ukrainians, however, came away from their KORA experience confident that they had crafted a winning plan capable of overcoming the Russian defenses in and around Orekhov.
When one examines the structure of a KORA-based simulation, it becomes clear that the system is completely dependent upon the various inputs which define the simulation as a whole.
They probably thought the Ukrainians could actually win. But when one uses wrong estimates for the fighting powers of each side as input of a simulation the output will always be garbage.
The real world results are now in. The Ukrainian counter-offensive has failed.
The weekend edition of the German business daily headlines: "This isn't a counter-offensive. It is a bloody crash test."
It is now time to acknowledge that the 'western' military assessments and its expectations were completely wrong:
In its early phases, Ukraine’s counteroffensive is having less success and Russian forces are showing more competence than western assessments expected, two western officials and a senior US military official tell CNN.
The counteroffensive is “not meeting expectations on any front,” one of the officials said.
According to the Western assessments, Russian lines of defense have been proving well-fortified, making it difficult for Ukrainian forces to breach them. In addition, Russian forces have had success bogging down Ukrainian armor with missile attacks and mines and have been deploying air power more effectively.
Ukrainian forces are proving “vulnerable” to minefields and Russian forces “competent” in their defense, one of the Western officials said.
Even the neoconservative Institute for the Study of War was forced to eat some tiny bits of craw and to acknowledge the competence of the Russian forces:
The Russian Ministry of Defense (MoD) responded to the Ukrainian attack with an uncharacteristic degree of coherency and praised Southern Military District elements for repelling the attack and regaining lost positions.
Anyone who thinks that coherency is uncharacteristic for the Russians should go back and read up on Operation Bagration which showed what a well prepared Russian military can actually do.
ISW also writes:
Russian forces appear to have executed their formal tactical defensive doctrine in response to the Ukrainian attacks ...
Well, what did the ISW 'experts' expect? That the Russians would use their manuals as toilet paper and run away when the turkey shooting begins?
In their utter stupidity the neoconservatives probably really believed that.
The assessments made did not acknowledge the dubious quality of freshly stood up Ukrainian forces. They did not acknowledge the changes and growth in the military structures on the Russian side. They failed to recognize the quality of the Russian fortifications and military capabilities and the deep roots of their doctrine.
The results are the consequence of ignoring reality, of seeing what one wants to see.
The politics of this war demanded that the 'western' side wins. NATO military was biased towards that. Instead of telling the politicians what a realistic outcome would be it delivered hopeful assessments that defied reality.
In consequence the Ukrainian military suffered many unnecessary casualties and lost the initiative.
Let's hope that at least some folks will learn from this.
Bumping this, as it might well be significant.
Putin's restraint has been extraordinary (contrary to anything anyone might read in western media propaganda), and the danger is that the many 'red lines' that have been crossed — and quietly thus far ignored by Russia — just encourages NATO and the US to push more and more, assuming that Russia is weak and cannot or will not respond.
One factor in all this is that Russia's 'go-slow' patience has been a cornerstone of its diplomatic stance presented to the rest of the world (the 'global south', which is a significant majority or nations), and has earned it respect, friendship, support, and the ignoring of sanctions and other US threats.
Meanwhile, the US has been alienating itself from most of the rest of the world more and more literally every week.
But at some point, the US (and more likely, Europe) may be greatly shocked by military actions that Russia might take to strike against (e.g.) bases or command centers outside of Ukraine — which it's absolutely 100% capable of doing.~~~
Published less than an hour ago, in this new 20-minute video Alexander Mercouris echoes almost everything that I stared above, adding some more information that NATO/US officers will have been among the victims in the strike against the decision-making center that was hit near Kiev a few days ago. This all underscores that Shoigu did indeed issue an extremely serious warning.
Decision making centers will be destroyed. Russia warns US & UK
Sorry mods, I'm just here drunk as a skunk celebrating solstice (1:10am) like a good spainard, and suddenly some sort of military coup intent by the wagner group erupts. Got half sober instantly.
Information is confusing, largely unverifiable, but something BIG is going on.
I won't post much specifics here since I'm not in a situation to curate it, but please, just wake up and go look for it yourselves, something big is likely coming out of this... If we even see the light of day again.
First story is wagner turned around, abandoned Ukraine, and its heading with 25k men towards moscow, after a comunicate asking people to join them aganist the Defence ministry. Moscow is in full alert, so as the regions bordering ukraine.
An official communication is comming out now on the matter in Russian Channel 1, my Russian lady will try to get access to it, but we're out and not in the best condition.
As I said, information is short and hardly verified. It could all be a Psyop for some hardcore 5d chess..
I heard that a group of Russian Soldiers were killed by a missile (from Russian forces) and I think that would have been to deter or weaken the coup attempt. It is confusing as to which occurred first.
Soldiers from the front line are heading back into Russia and part of something said was 'We will avenge the attack on our own soldiers from the Russian Government and then everything will return to normal.' They have broadcasted to the public "Stay in your homes as we pass by. Anyone trying to stop us will be our enemy - either from the ground or air." Something like that anyway.
I was informed on fighting occurring as Russian soldiers were fighting the Wagner soldiers (near the front lines) and that it's a bloodbath.
The U.S. is preparing and said that if any nukes are used against Ukraine that could threaten Poland or any other Nato country, article 5 will come into play. (Which will then have all of Nato join in.)
I think the talking of the possibility of a nuclear attack is due to the thought that if Putin becomes trapped and reckless, what might he do.
Let's pray for the best and hope this is resolved within Russia before it escalates into a bigger mess.
Canada's Prime Minster Trudeau has told Ukraine that Canada is now the guarantor for Ukraine.
What does that even mean? He can't guarantee the safety of the people of Ukraine, but what he has done is dragged Nato all the way in - or trying to.
It is needed to be said that Trudeau has done this on his own accord. It was not brought up in parliament - it is definitely not from the people of Canada. I am sure that most people would rather have us all looking for a way to stop the war - not inflame it.
This is going to go the distance within Russia.
At close to 4 a.m., the governor of the Rostov region on the Ukraine border — where Prigozhin claims to have led his fighters — issued a statement addressing the public. “The law enforcement authorities are doing everything necessary to assure the safety of the region’s residents,” the governor, Vasily Golubev, said in a Telegram post. “I’m asking everyone to stay calm and not leave their home without necessity.”
The Russian Armed Forces continue to carry out combat missions on the line of contact with the armed forces of Ukraine in the area of the NMD.
Prigozhin's statements and actions are in fact calls for the start of an armed civil conflict on Russian territory and are a "stab in the back" to Russian servicemen fighting pro-fascist Ukrainian forces.
Due to the seriousness of the situation and the threat of an escalation of confrontation in the Russian Federation, the FSB initiated a criminal case on the fact of Prigozhin's call for an armed rebellion .
The Defense Ministry debunked claims of airstrikes at Wagner PMC units. Kremlin Spokesman stated that President Vladimir Putin was informed about the situation regarding Prigozhin, adding that all necessary measures are being taken.
The Federal Security Service (FSB) press office said that the criminal was initiated due to the seriousness of the situation and the threat of escalation in Russia; it also called on PMC fighters not to comply with Prigozhin’s orders and to detain him.
Here are key facts about the situation regarding Prigozhin.
Defense Ministry debunks claims
The Russian Defense Ministry called the reports on strikes at Wagner PMC units false.
The Ministry added that Russian forces continue to carry out missions in the special military operation area. Later, the Ministry announced that the Kiev regime took advantage of Prigozhin’s provocation and is concentrating forces of 35th and 36th Marine Brigades on the Bakhmut direction for offensive action.
Putin informed
Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that President Vladimir Putin was informed about the situation around Prigozhin and "necessary measures are being taken."
According to the spokesman, all Russian security agencies report to Putin about measures being taken around the clock.
Criminal case
The National Antiterrorism Committee announced that Prigozhin’s statements became grounds for initiation of the criminal case over charges of calls for an armed mutiny; the Committee demanded to immediately stop illegal actions.
Later, the Prosecutor General’s Office said that the criminal case was initiated legitimately and was justified. The Office promised to provide legal assessment to Prigozhin’s actions. The Wagner PMC founder may face between 12 and 20 years in prison.
‘Stab in the back’
Prigozhin’s statements effectively constitute calls for beginning of and armed civil conflict, Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) press office said.
"Prigozhin’s statements and actions effectively constitute calls for an armed civil conflict on Russian territory and a stab in the back of Russian servicemen fighting with pro-Nazi Ukrainian forces," the press office said.
To resolve problems peacefully
Russia’s Deputy Commander of Russian joint forces in the special military operation area Sergey Surovikin called on the Wagner PMC to comply with President Vladimir Putin’s order and to resolve all issues peacefully.
"I urge you to stop. The enemy is waiting for our internal political situation to escalate. We must not play in enemy’s favor in this difficult time. Before it is too late, it is necessary to submit to the will and order to the nationally elected president of the Russian Federation, to stop the convoys, to take them back to their permanent deployment and concentration locations, and to only resolve all issues peacefully," he said.
Special TV reports
Russia’s Channel 1 (https://www.1tv.ru/) aired two special reports. The first said that the video about the "strike" on Wagner PMC positions is fake, proven by the absence of other video footage, and the fact that audio files on Prigozhin’s Telegram channel were recorded simultaneously and were published as scheduled messages. In addition, the report announced the initiation of the criminal case against Prigozhin.
The second special report also included Surovikin’s address.
Situation in Moscow and the regions
Moscow’s critical facilities have been put under reinforced protection, security measures in the capital have been increased, a source in law enforcement agencies told TASS. According to the source, Russian National Guard special units were put on full alert.
Car traffic has been blocked on Russia’s M-4 highway past Rostov-on-Don towards Aksay, according to TASS reported at the scene. All cars moving from Rostov-on-Don towards Aksay are being redirected back in the city, and police checkpoints have been reinforced.
Checkpoints have been established near the Southern Military District headquarters in Rostov-on-Don, with military and law enforcement upholding the public order. Military checkpoints have been established on streets adjacent to the headquarters, with numerous police cars; an armored personnel carrier was spotted near the headquarters building. The city’s central streets are being patrolled by police cars; aircraft was heard in air in Western parts of the city. No security agency has provided any official comments yet.
Meanwhile, the situation at the "Wagner PMC Center" building in St. Petersburg remains calm, there are no Russian National Guard employees or employees of other security services, according to a TASS reporter. Security detail on duty debunked reports of searches in the building.
Crimean authorities urged residents to only trust official information due to intensified activities of Ukraine’s Informational and Psychological Operation Center (TSIPsO).
International reaction
US authorities watch the situation in Russia closely, CNN reported citing unnamed Administration representative. According to the report, US President Joe Biden was informed about the ongoing events.
According to CNN (http://CNN)’s sources, Prigozhin’s statements are "more than his usual rhetoric.".
There is no panic in Moscow and St. Petersburg - people walk along the central streets of the two capitals of Russia and dance to the music
In the center of Moscow, despite reports of increased security measures after Yevgeny Prigozhin's statement, life continues to boil. Young people have gathered on the central streets of the city, dancing to the music and celebrating Youth Day, and the bars are packed with visitors.
The same situation, where there is no place for panic, reigns in St. Petersburg. There are no obvious unrest on the central streets of St. Petersburg and near the water channels on the eve of the Scarlet Sails - earlier in some chats they disseminated information about boats moving towards the Wagner Center.
I had heard that U.S. airforce had armed it's planes and were already prepared and in the air well prior to Prigozhin's speaking out about moving on Moscow.
So, I am suspicious that some part of Nato is involved in maybe encouraging or manipulating this move by Prigozhin.
Time will tell I guess.
The EU wants an extra €66 Billion from member states for the reconstruction of Ukraine after the conflict with Russia. :facepalm: The money has to be knocked out of the pockets of the common man. “Remember that the EU also already has 2018 billion available in the corona recovery fund, 100 billion from the emissions trading system, €100 Billion in the climate transition fund and €114 Billion available for the Green Deal. These are absurd amounts,” says MEP Marcel de Graaff (FVD) (https://youtu.be/kFrhQFxAzuE). “And all that money comes from the taxpayer; of you and me,” he notes.
The Netherlands is broken down for this
The sanctions against Russia have pushed the German economy and now even the EU as a whole into recession. And the EU, with its billion-dollar plans, is the cause of our economic problems, says the MEP. “66 billion must be made available for the construction of the most corrupt country in Europe. Ukraine is not an EU country and not a NATO country,” says De Graaff. “But the Netherlands is being broken down for this. Child benefit is being reduced, electricity and petrol are unaffordable and our pensions are being cut because our pension pot has already disappeared to the EU.”
Always more
This EU always wants more; more power, more control, more money. This has to stop! The sanctions must stop, the supply of weapons must stop, the giving away of billions of euros to Ukraine must stop, says the MEP. He points out that citizens receive nothing in return from the EU. “No peace, no prosperity, no freedom, but war, debt, poverty and unemployment.”
I estimate that Prigozhin has 600 - 700 km to travel to Moscow. A lot of that could be farm country depending upon where exactly they are coming from.
Or is he a lot closer already?
Couldn't they attack him from the air to deplete his resources? It is strange that he would announce his movement at such an early stage considering the distance he has to travel. Does this expose his mental state?
Calm down, folks, nothing's going to happen here. :) (Except for the possibility that Russian Special Forces may quietly take Prigozhin out... and if so, very likely supported by some of his own elite forces who would be credited with the whole thing.)
Here are one or two things to remember:
Prigozhin isn't Wagner's military commander. He's just the figurehead and 'owner' (though that in itself is a complex structure). Wagner's battlefield tactics and strategy all come from seasoned commanders with a great deal of military experience. Their names are not publicized. It'd be extraordinary if they were to dutifully follow Prigozhin to whatever the bitter end might be.
A fairly significant proportion of Prigozhin's forces are former convicts who have been promised that their crimes would be pardoned in return for honorable military duty supporting the Russian Federation. You can bet your boots that very few if any of them would be willing to put their future freedom in jeopardy by acting against the very state that's promised to pardon them.
Every one of Prigozhin's troops knows how powerful the Russian military is. If they try to go toe-to-toe with them in any meaningful military way, it'd be pretty bloody, for sure. But they'd largely be wiped out, and any prisoners taken would be tried for treason, NOT a good thing to happen in Russia if one is guilty.
~~~

I was going to go for a mountain hike tomorrow (Saturday), but I'm thinking I'll probably stay at my desk instead as it might be quite an interesting day.

(One thing that'lll be worth watching for is that Alexander Mercouris has a very reliable senior personal source in Russia, with whom he's in regular contact and who is very close to the Wagner organization. Over the last couple of months this man has shared with Mercouris much of their inner workings, finances, and command structure. He'll certainly be explaining to Mercouris exactly what's happening here, and why.

I'll postpone my hike to Sunday, because by then all this will have largely blown over.

:)

Just published by Simplicius the Thinker. (Way too long to copy here, and most reading this will know the backstory already. I'll only copy the opening paragraphs and the closing ones.)

https://simplicius76.substack.com/p/special-report-emergency-situation

Special Report: Emergency Situation as Prigozhin Goes Nuclear Option

(INTRO)
Heavy things are afoot. I had been busy writing my next unrelated report, when this major situation interrupted, forcing me to delay the regularly scheduled report in order to address the alarming developments.

Prigozhin appears to have initiated a coup attempt. Information is still developing constantly so nothing is definitive or confirmed. That’s why I wanted to focus more on the potential causes rather than the speculative and constantly-changing informational noise. But just for those who may be completely unaware of the happenings:

———
(many videos and telegram posts, offering deep background plus a few recent events)
———

(CONCLUSION)
However, on the other side of the coin, there is one unsettling thing about all this to me. Which is that, unless Prigozhin has completely had a mental break and is outright deranged (which I doubt), what he’s doing would appear to be suicidal. To march a few mercenary troops into Russia on the fly or on a whim seems utterly lunatic and would clearly result in nothing more than Prigozhin’s arrest and long imprisonment if not his death.

So, it’s unsettling for that very reason that I don’t think Prigozhin — or anyone sane — would make such a move off the cuff unless they had it all planned out many steps in advance and — most importantly — had already secured some kind of significant internal support somewhere.

So, does that mean Prigozhin may have actually thought this out, planned it well in advance, and has the secret support of many important figures in the Russian military who will actually back him in this coup?

What other possibility could there be for him to make this wild attempt? No sane person would do this unless they’ve secured secret approval or quiet support from some powerful higher-ups. And if that’s the case, that means this situation would be much more serious than it appears.

I fully accept the fact that events are moving quickly and within hours of posting this some huge new development could obviate or refute most of everything I’ve written here, and certainly tomorrow promises to be an eventful day.

I think you are missing a fourth option.

4. Prigozhin suffers from bipolar disorder and has been having a manic episode going on for months now that is reaching its crescendo.

Keep in mind that when someone is in a manic episode, they suffer from paranoid delusions. Paranoid means they think people are out to get them even when they're not. Delusions means their beliefs are clearly not all true. Sound about right?

I have been hesitant to say this but I suspected it might be true all along.

Also, keep in mind, he may not be doing all these things for himself, but really for the sake of Russia. It's just he could be delusional and not totally in touch with reality. I really don't think he's trying to stage a coup, but in his mind, he needs to do certain things for Russia. It's difficult to describe delusional people unless you have experienced them firsthand.
(and then as a PS)
I will also add that severe stress is a pretty sure way to trigger a manic episode in a person with bipolar disorder.

You take a bipolar person and put them in a meat grinder like Bakhmut and I assure you they'll all come out of there manic.

Well, things are happening - a group is taking control of a government building in Rostov. (about an hour ago.)

It appears that there is activity in many places - but it is difficult to know if it is Wagner or the Russian military just taking positions.

Looks like we won't know the extent of things for quite a few hours.

Reported by Slavyangrad (https://t.me/Slavyangrad/51946) 10 minutes ago:
(The source, the 'Rezident' Ukrainian Telegram channel, isn't in English, so this is either a translation or a summary)

~~~
Ukrainian channel Rezident:
Our source in the Office of the President said that the Office of the President instructed the SBU and CIPSO to use the entire network of telegram channels in Russia to escalate the situation in Russian society. All work should be built along two main lines: a call to the Russian army to support the PMC Wagner, and in parallel to this, demand from the authorities to deal harshly with Prigozhin. It is necessary to provoke an internal political conflict and shed first blood in order to start the Civil War in Russia.
~~~

My own comment: as best I can see right now, many of the telegram reports are fakes, or fake reports forwarded in good faith. Something is happening, but not nearly as much as many have been deliberately led to believe.

That is why he cannot possibly stage a coup.

That means a pledge from some amount of state forces to support a new leader or change of government. As a private contractor, he can only throw a revolution (replace the government) or civil war (gain control of the current government).

He already made a lot of noise about the ammunition, which, itself, made little sense, because Wagner's progresses were adequately fast enough without the "higher speed" he claimed to have been able to reach.

His best bet would probably have been totally to turn colors and defect into Ukraine.

That guy was skeezy, as for the rest of Wagner, perhaps we should reserve judgment.

Wagner PMC ‘armed coup’ attempt in Russia: All the latest news

The businessman behind the private military company has been accused of “rebellion” against Moscow

The charges were brought late Friday night after Prigozhin accused Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu and General Valery Gerasimov, the chair of the Russian general staff, of serious crimes.

Prigozhin claimed to have ordered troops loyal to him to move towards Rostov-on-Don, a major city in southern Russia. Security measures were also reportedly beefed up in Moscow.

Russia’s National Antiterrorist Committee (NAK) has announced a “counter-terrorist operation regime” in Moscow and Moscow Region to prevent potential terrorist attacks.

The modest parade was escorted by Rosgvardia into Rostov; Prigozhin pretended to "occupy" the city, then he had a chat with a couple generals, after which he and his motley group of "insurrectionists" drove away again.

Now Putin says they're all in VERY big trouble and will be dealt with promptly and harshly.

Prigozhin has always had Narcissistic Personality Disorder, and now (with PTSD and/or something else kicking in) things have gone a little too far.

Thanks :highfive: And it's probably an accurate diagnosis actually.

However this is spun, here's what may be a reasonably accurate surmise - reverse psychology:

- Prigozhin and Putin may have connived a Russian-style psychological information operation to goad NATO and the Ukrainian forces into a false sense of security, thereby they'll likely commit UKR forces to their destruction more speedily - I might be very wrong, but nothing seems real about Prigozhin's outbursts.

Some reasoning behind this as it's assumed that there's a channel of communication between them both, at least through a direct intermediary, which would sort of make sense.

Earlier more recent posts a couple pages back see a concerted effort on the Ukrainian side to ramp up the information warfare - their only real weaponry - which is always most deceitful, in every conceivable way.

I'm not buying that there is a schism within Russian Command-and-Control either although there will of course be hawks and doves.

Col Macgregor suggested that one way to 'read' what Prigozhin is saying is from the point of view that Russia have been too cautious for his (Prighozin's) liking up to this point and should, quote: "Take the gloves off and get the job done.", my paraphrasing of his comments.

This is interesting theatre and I suspect not based on any actuality, at all. Wagner marching on Moscow? Fictional baloney, frankly, right up there with the utter drivel from Ukrainian TV about 50,000 Russian troops surrendering; cans of tomatoes taking out Su-35 fighter bombers; the 'Ghost of Kiev', and on, and on...

Give me a break :)

It's a distraction, and nothing more.

Personally, I'm rather more concerned about the ZNPP situation, as in the demented minds of the ideologues in London and Washington staging a false-flag attack ahead of the July 11th NATO summit to legitimise an Article 5 response is a much more seriously possible likely scenario, which you can bet will have been planned.

Let's pray that doesn't come to fruition.

The Jewish bankers and Jewish partisans/communists like Lenin and trotsky have reduced Russia to it's current state, it's a complete joke that the west still portrays Russia as a threat when the army is in complete disrepair, I feel sorry for the Russian people who had their culture taken from them as is happening to the west now by the same people.

Hello,

None of this seems to make any sense.

We have RT Journalist Roman Kosarev making the below video claiming Gunfire at the Rostov Military HQ were Prigozhin is being said to be.

corrkosarev/1075

The we have the below.

Slavyangrad/52043

Seems whatever is happening, is staged and or a distraction, and given the west wants urgently for reasons beyond understanding, for a Nuclear war and for Ukraine to win, the next couple of days are going to be very interesting and or vey boring, hope very boring.

EDIT. What are the chances that the west will now look to provide Prigozhin with some assistance?

More on this 'situation' whatever it may be. I'm standing by the distraction angle for now until I see any real truly convincing footage (where is it?) to assert the message that's doing-the-rounds at the moment:

"People continue to ask me my take on the situation in Russia.

My take is, that until we actually see any proof of kinetic hostilities, there is no situation in Russia.

We’ve seen wild speculation and unverified reports, but on the ground it looks like a photo op.

But if you want to know what I THINK is happening; I think Prigozhin is doing what he always does, which is say crazy **** to create the illusion of disarray, to cover for Russian tactical movement/assaults.

Just like he did in Bakhmut, he claimed Russia wasn’t giving him ammo, he was going to pull all his troops out, wanted Shoigu’s head on a platter, etc., only to turn around and finish taking Bakhmut shortly after.

I think Prigozhin and Putin are conducting a psyop to disguise Russian troop movement to either launch an offensive, or coerce Ukraine into attacking.

The only place this is a civil war is on the Internet, because the 🇺🇦 folks are eager to say and believe anything to deflect from the catastrophic losses in their holy “counter-offensive”.

Just like Belgorod, in a couple days, the NAFO trolls will be on to the next thing because this turned out to be nothing.

But as always, we shall wait and see."

I think it's a typical communist disinformation exerciseWrong. :) Russia is far more of a democracy than the US is. There's not all that much active 'communism' anywhere in Russia now.

And Putin is no 'dictator'. That's just cheap western media PR.

it's a complete joke that the west still portrays Russia as a threat when the army is in complete disrepair, I feel sorry for the Russian people who had their culture taken from them as is happening to the west now by the same people.And wrong again. Russia's military is advanced and formidable, and the country's economy is in excellent shape. Their culture is the strongest in any country one can think of; it's only being destroyed, canceled and and vilified in Ukraine, the EU, and the US.

You've allowed yourself to be propagandized.

You're probably right bill, but I base my opinion on the work of the highest level kgb defector anotoly golitsyn, who exhaustively outlines communist disinformation long term strategies. Another key work is Christopher stories the new underworld order you should be able to get it on pdf. Some allege he died because of that work.

If Russia is so democratic then why do they Revere Jewish genocidal maniacs like Lenin still? Why do they have the roof over your head "kresha"system this is the modus operandi of the Zionist gangster organization chabad lubavitch, which in turn has influenced mafia style internal diplomacy in places like moscow. Furthermore why is the Soviet era long term strategy to rollback the west taking full shape in the west via cultural Marxism? These are just thoughts and I acknowledge you are eminently more researched in these areas than I given it's your time job but I'm not certain on anything Russia is doing given the lack of real change in the country. Also why does the Jewish created intelligence nexus have kompromat on Putin being a pedophile which resulted in the murder of litvenenko?

With Russia we are always left with more questions than answers this is my point which makes this exercise so inviting because of the obvious challenges when all sources are considered.

My summary this morning US time, still catching up. Alex Christoforou has said it quite well in his first video update (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ek2RhqyGcBw) for today, and I've added a few of my own observations:

It's not a 'coup'.

It's more like a Wild West scenario where the maverick gang leader rides up to the sheriff's office and demands a gunfight, but then the calm sheriff just comes out unarmed and talks him down. (However, the sheriff will arrest him afterwards, for sure.)

It's a gift to the western media, but that doesn't really matter and won't affect the outcome of the war (or anything else).

Putin gave Prigozhin a very long rope (too long, many would argue, and I'd agree), but now Prigozhin has hung himself with it. He should have been retired several months ago, made a Hero of Russia, given a good pension, and gently but firmly sidelined.

That was the big mistake. Prigozhin was popular in Russia, rather like a cartoon character always doing daring and unpredictable things, but now he'll have lost all that support. Few in the west understand how deeply patriotic almost all Russians are. It's in their bones and their blood. The Russian people understand that the US and EU wants them destroyed, and nothing will weaken their resolve never to allow that to happen.

Bill Ryan
24th June 2023, 12:47
Furthermore why is the Soviet era long term strategy to rollback the west taking full shape in the west via cultural Marxism? Good question, but I'd contend that this may likely be the long-term work of the Chinese, not the Russians. Russian and Chinese cultures are worlds apart, though they have good reasons to be economic allies right now.

The west is full of entirely baseless and invented PR about how Putin wants to reestablish the Soviet Union, invade all of Europe, and dominate the world. None of that is true.

CIA veteran Ray McGovern (who features regularly on Judge Napolitano's daily podcasts (https://www.youtube.com/@judgingfreedom/streams)) points out over and over again that to understand Russia's intentions, all you have to do is look at what they're saying and writing. Putin's speeches have been clear, open, and detailed, and have been for many years. All Russians want is to be left alone, respected, liked (as they should be: Russians are wonderful people) — and unharmed.

It’s hilarious how Wagner group turned from a “genocidal militia committing war crimes” to an “anti-corruption rebellion group” in the western media. If NATO had the chance, they will arm Wagner and call them freedom fighters.

Nothing shocking here. The same western media spent decades attacking Al Qaeda and Nazism. Suddenly, Al Qaeda became “moderate rebels” in Syria and Nazis became “patriots” in Ukraine. Both unapologetically backed and armed by western regimes.

A very brief summary update from The Moon of Alabama:

https://www.moonofalabama.org/2023/06/on-prigozhins-insurrection-farce.html#comments

~~~
On Prigozhin's Insurrection Farce
Some thoughts on the ongoing insurrection attempt in Russia.
I wonder who or what lured Yevgeny Prigozhin into staging this farce.
In twelve or so hours things are likely to have calmed down.
'Western' anal-cysts will spend weeks fantasizing about their wished for outcome which, of course, was never to happen.
The whole story reminds me of Machiavelli's warning against mercenaries (https://thehistoryfiles.com/machiavelli-on-mercenaries/):
I say, therefore, that the arms with which a prince defends his state are either his own, or they are mercenaries, auxiliaries, or mixed. Mercenaries and auxiliaries are useless and dangerous; and if one holds his state based on these arms, he will stand neither firm nor safe; for they are disunited, ambitious and without discipline, unfaithful, valiant before friends, cowardly before enemies; they have neither the fear of God nor fidelity to men, and [one’s own] destruction is deferred only so long as the attack is; for in peace one is robbed by them, and in war by the enemy. The fact is, that they have no other attraction or reason for keeping the field than a trifle of stipend, which is not sufficient to make them willing to die for you. ...
...
I wish to demonstrate further the infelicity of these arms [i.e., mercenaries]. The mercenary captains are either capable men or they are not; if they are, you cannot trust them, because they always aspire to their own greatness, either by oppressing you, who are their master, or others contrary to your intentions; but if the captain [i.e., the leader of the mercenaries] is not skillful, you are ruined in the usual way [i.e., you will lose the war].
A further couple of comments of my own. I've listened to The Duran's interim report on this (posted immediately above, and recommended), and agree with everything presented there — noting the interesting point that Mercouris raised that this may well trigger questions, and possibly doubts, among the leaders of the major nations that so far have been standing very much behind Russia in just about everything that's happened so far.
I'd suggest this is actually an opportunity. (No-one else has mentioned this yet, as best I know.) It's all dramatic, but may not be a bad thing. For these reasons:
If Putin responds firmly, decisively and quickly, this will strengthen his position, not weaken it. And already it seems that the Russian people (and Russia's military) are close to being 100.00% behind him.
Prigozhin's increasingly frenzied, wild (and false!) statements and claims were showing that this situation was a rapidly festering 'boil' that needed to be lanced. Putin and others in the Kremlin were late to do this (this should have been dealt with quietly and cleanly a couple of months ago), but if the boil is truly and effectively lanced then that's simply the end of it, and it won't return.
Sincere Thanks to Bill, Ravenlock, TinTin et all for such rare and exemplary coverage of this event - really, you 'guys' are a treasure!
I don't have much to add except to agree that this event (whatever it is) will contribute to accelerate the escalation of this war towards world catastrophe - it will encourage those who are most impatient and most aggressive on both sides.
But maybe this is acceleration rather than making a qualitative change - since the Western Powers top-leadership still are, as they always have been, determined to make Ukr into an all-out world war - and eventually this will succeed, because it only takes one side to do it.
My guess as to the immediate cause is that it has a lot to do with mental illness - some literally psychotic elevated and disinhibited 'manic-type' mood state; probably related to the effects of months of overwork and fatigue, and the intoxication of fame, admiration and power, on a man who was probably already predisposed in that direction. The technical diagnostic term is Psychogenic Psychosis (https://charltonteaching.blogspot.com/2014/03/brief-psychotic-disorders-common.html).
P's behaviour reminds me somewhat of the effects of trench warfare on Siegfried Sassoon; who would probably have been executed for treason had not his friends got him committed as insane. In retrospect, that would have been a better and kinder option for P, than what has happened (and far better for Russia) - but sometimes these things flare-up very quickly indeed, after months of gradual predisposition. Then a sudden break - maybe triggered a few days without sleep. Maybe this kind of picture will emerge?
It would not surprise me if there were also fifth-columnists, or moles, who had been working on triggering exactly this - but not necessarily. Such things happen in ordinary life.
I used to work as a junior psychiatrist on acute wards - and we would have an emergency admission of someone who 'snapped' in this kind of way after escalating overwork and then acute lack of sleep - but on a small, family, scale. They would often be fine and ready to leave hospital after just a few days of sedation; but the damage done when psychotic/ high/ disinhibited was done, may be devastating, and needed to be dealt with from then onward.
Anyway, that's just a guess - maybe matters will become clearer later.
Tintin
24th June 2023, 15:03
Another quality contribution from Bruce - thank you :flower: Yes psychogenic psychosis - that may explain a lot.
Perhaps if there had been concerns inside the Russian government over his mental health, and likely some good understanding of the condition, and the necessity to ensure that Artyomovsk should be secured, is why they haven't acted on his somewhat crazed rants, up to this point.
Of course, now they will have to do something.
I'm glad no-one took me up on my bet! :P Who am I to question Scott Ritter, whom I admire and respect, but he stated he's sure Prigozhin has been recruited by the CIA/Ukraine.
He may possibly be right, and there's a lot of speculation about that, but I think he's wrong — I believe Prigozhin has had what's basically a breakdown (and that Bruce Charlton summed it up perfectly in his post above (https://projectavalon.net/forum4/showthread.php?114491-WW3-Ukraine-US-vs.-Donbass-Russia&p=1564187&viewfull=1#post1564187), whatever the medical diagnosis), but of course there are concerted attempts now to take advantage of this by all of Russia's enemies, some of whom may have been well aware of Prigozhin's plans and intentions before they were all acted out.
‘No excuse’ for Wagner mutiny – Chechen leader
Ramzan Kadyrov has denounced Evgeny Prigozhin as a traitor, while vowing to do his best to restore order
https://mf.b37mrtl.ru/files/2023.06/thumbnail/6496c17085f54068d317a6d4.jpg
Head of the Chechen Republic Ramzan Kadyrov
The insurrection by Wagner chief Evgeny Prigozhin is a “hideous betrayal” and should be quelled in order to protect Russian unity amid the conflict in Ukraine, the head of the Chechen Republic, Ramzan Kadyrov, has said.
In a post on Telegram on Saturday, the Chechen leader offered a scathing rebuke of the head of the private military company, denouncing his actions as “a knife in the back” and “a real military mutiny.”
Kadyrov stated that an armed conflict is not the time for personal grudges, saying “the rear should always be safe and secure.” “Just imagine what the guys in the trenches feel now, with their face to the enemy and with their back to a treacherous gamble.”
The Chechen leader added that Wagner’s actions could only result in “bloody consequences.”
Kadyrov also expressed his full support for Russian President Vladimir Putin, who hours earlier called Prigozhin’s insurrection “a stab in the back” and called for national unity.
As Russia’s supreme commander, Putin sees the entire landscape of the conflict with Kiev, and was absolutely right to call the turmoil “a military mutiny,” Kadyrov said. “There is no excuse for such actions.”
The Chechen leader went on to address Russian service members, urging them “not to fall into provocative acts,” noting that the insurrection is already being exploited by Moscow’s foreign adversaries.
According to Kadyrov, Chechen members of the Defense Ministry and the National Guard have already headed out to the regions where tensions are high. “The insurrection must be quelled, and if harsh measures are required, we are ready for them!” he said.
I've been unsure what really is the true cause for Prigozhin's uprising. But I'm more and more convinced that it's not an Maskirovka to fool the UkrAF. It is a real power play action by Prigozhin. An action fueled by overconfidence and a belief he was untouchable. But he has gone to far now and there's no turning back. The Russian leadership underestimated Ukrainian resolve and capability in February 2022, Prigozhin might have done the same mistake now.
This time he has gone against Putins open demand to abort the "uprising " and accept responsibility for his actions. Instead he sent an convoy of 170 technical vehicles and trucks towards Moscow. That's an open challenge to Kremlin which is unacceptable. I believe the only reason the convoy hasn't been wiped out is a reluctance among the leadership I Moscow to kill many of their own.
Let's see how it all ends, but nobody in Kremlin, Ru MoD or RuAF will let Prigozhin keep control of PMC Wagner after this. He will be lucky if he still are alive in one weeks time. The uprising might just melt away the coming days or have a bloody end if a desperate Prigozhin refuse to surrender.
My view on the actions by Prigozhin and the Wagner Group in Russia:
This started as a power struggle between Prigozhin and Shoigu. In the beginning of the Special military operation Shoigu and his team made mistakes and Prigozhin became of strong critic of Shoigu.
Prigozhin then had success in Bakhmut with Wagner Group presenting himself as a better military leader than Shoigu. In my view Shoigu then provoked Prigozhin by limiting ammunition supplies to Bakhmut resulting in Wagner Group losses and a strong reaction from Prigozhin. Many of you have seen the video of Prigozhin attacking Shoigu and the Russian military leadership.
Ammunition deliveries were restored and victory in Bakhmut was achieved but the video outburst by Prigozhin was likely counterproductive for him because the Kremlin and senior political leaders in Moscow saw him as a loose cannon who can’t be trusted.
Prigozhin doubled down predicting a massive loss for the Russian military claiming that it was not ready for the Ukrainian counter-offensive. He claimed that the Russian troops are badly equipped and poorly managed by Shoigu. With the Russian military successfully repelling the Ukrainian counter-offensive Prigozhin had played himself into a corner and his time was running out because Shoigu and his Generals delivered a major victory for the Kremlin.
In my view the actions by Prigozhin are an act of desperation because he has lost the power struggle against Shoigu and is likely facing serious retaliation.
Western media claims this is an attempted coup against Putin. That’s nonsense. The popularity of Putin within Russia and in the non-western world has never been higher. However this war between Prigozhin and Shoigu is an unwelcome distraction for the Kremlin and the most likely outcome will be the arrest or termination of Prigozhin.
Defense chiefs warn Wagner fighters against taking part in ‘armed coup’
The Defense Ministry in Moscow has offered security guarantees to those who refuse to back Evgeny Prigozhin
https://mf.b37mrtl.ru/files/2023.06/thumbnail/64968a742030272eac32df64.jpg
The Russian Ministry of Defense has urged Wagner Group private military company soldiers to cease their armed insurrection, urging them to return to their bases.
In a statement on Saturday, the ministry claimed that members of the PMC “have been tricked into taking part in [Wagner group chief Evgeny] Prigozhin’s criminal gamble,” adding that some Wagner fighters “have already understood their mistake” and have asked the authorities for help in safely returning to their permanent deployment areas.
“This assistance has already been provided to those soldiers and commanders who sought it,” the ministry stated, asking Wagner members to “show prudence and get in touch with representatives of the Russian Defense Ministry of law enforcement agencies as soon as possible.”
“We guarantee everyone’s safety,” the statement said.
The ministry’s appeal comes after Evgeny Prigozhin accused the Russian Defense Ministry on Friday of carrying out a missile strike on a PMC camp, which he said resulted in multiple casualties, while promising a response. The Defense Ministry denied the allegation, and the Russian authorities say the FSB has opened a criminal investigation into Prigozhin for allegedly advocating a mutiny.
This also comes as the Russian MOD issued a new ruling for all volunteers and PMCs to register under the Russian MOD. It seems Moscow was already suspect of Prigozhin’s potential betrayal and was setting the process to protect itself. This isn’t the first time they’ve run into a conflict with him as before he had also said via video that troops didn’t have munitions and blamed the MOD but he seems to be the only one who was complaining. Prigozhin of course refused to register under the MOD so the timing fits here as well as the fact that this comes as Ukraine is failing miserably with their counteroffensive. It would seem Prigozhin is working to the favor of the SBU/AFU and Ukraine or worse western intelligence, as this works in the west’s favor.
Scott Ritter this Saturday morning.... 24 minutes long.
Summation: Wagner Group has only up to about 5,000 troops that went back into Russia, Wagner had counted on people supporting this move and that is not happening, and in addition, he thinks the Wagner troops themselves will not continue to support this move.
By the end of the day there, the Wagner leadership will be crushed, in his opinion.....
The western powers played a role in making Wagner think they could get a way with this.
Ritter is pretty good and he just spent a month over in Russia touring a some of the country.
Is Putin clever enough to have put all this together? I would not doubt it.
Peace.
Top Russian general sends message to ‘mutinous’ Wagner PMC
Sergey Surovikin has called on its fighters to stand down
https://mf.b37mrtl.ru/files/2023.06/thumbnail/6496168a85f5401b086a967b.jpg
The deputy commander of the Russian Joint Forces, General Sergey Surovikin, asked on Friday the fighters of the private military company Wagner Group to stop their “rebellion” against the Russian military.
In a short video message released on social media, Surovikin said he had just returned from the front, where Russian forces were standing their ground against the Ukrainian offensive.
“I appeal to the fighters and commanders of the PMC Wagner,” Surovikin said, still wearing his fatigues. “We have walked a difficult road together. We fought together, took risks together, suffered losses together, and won together. We are of the same blood. We are warriors. I urge you to stop. The enemy is just waiting for the internal political situation to worsen. We should not play into the enemy’s hands in these difficult times for our country.”
He urged Wagner troops to submit to the lawfully elected authorities “before it is too late,” return to their barracks, and address their grievances peacefully.
Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) announced on Friday that it had opened an investigation into Prigozhin for allegedly “calling for an armed rebellion.” The crime is punishable by 12-20 years in prison.
Surovikin, an Air Force general, was put in charge of the operation in Ukraine in October 2022, overseeing a major redeployment in Kherson Region. In January this year, he became a deputy to General Valery Gerasimov, the head of the Russian General Staff and current commander of the operation.
Message from Pavel Vladimirovich:
Prigozhin’s High Treason
Dear friend and subscribers, what a night we’ve had! Nazi collaborators (in the widest sense of the word) had their fun spreading misinformation, administrators had their fun banning them and the “less-engaged-but-trying-to-help” people like me were watching it all in absolute astonishment. I think the dust has now settled enough to draw at least some conclusions, if even not all of them.
Prigozhin, until about 20 hours ago everyone’s favorite cook and mercenary, finally showed his true face and betrayed our country. I do not want to pretend to “know this all along” or anything equally as pretentious, but the signs were there for us all to see. Ever since Artemovsk and his video about dead Wagner fighters for the lack of artillery ammunition became very popular and plenty of people then spent hours upon hours dissecting it. Some called it an act, some started questioning Sergei Shoigu, but mostly because Wagner make for cool background for music tracks, rather than any actual evidence against the Ministry of Defense. Some, however, called it out for what it was: insubordination. There is no conceivable way an officer (or someone who pretends to be one) can act this way, especially during wartime. This culminated in Prigozhin’s threat of retreat from Artemovsk, despite his orders to the contrary. This was the moment when most people finally turned against him in the Ministry of Defence, in political circles, among other troops and among the public. Then, too, people called it for what it is: insubordination. That time, however, it was an officer directly threatening his superiors (during a war and active engagements) to pull those troops under his command away from fighting. In any other war, in any other country and under any other leader he would have been court-martialled and, at best, put to prison. But Putin is a patient man and, perhaps, it wasn’t the best time to create unnecessary drama. Problem is, as we see now, it was not unnecessary. While this could have been done then with far fewer losses to prestige and reputation to Russia and to Russia’s manpower. Since then, however, Prigozhin was not quite. He spent a large part of the month demoralising our troops by spreading what we here in chat would call “doomer” messages about deaths, missing shells and an imminent advance of the ukrowermacht. Statement after statement, day after day, Prigozhin continued his campaign to discredit the Ministry of Defence, but was left alone, for whatever reason. And now here we are. Prigozhin, in his delusions of grandeur, decided to take up arms against his superiors, the Russian army, the Russian people and, eventually, against our dear President Vladimir Putin. In doing so, Prigozhin redefined the saying “overplaying your cards”. He no doubt expected a popular uprising, but the very opposite has happened. Everyone, without exception, turned against him and stand behind Vladimir Putin. In fact, the only support he is getting is from Ukraine. This is not a good look for a wannabe insurrectionist. Even people who were before neutral turned against him. PMC Wagner are currently in an absolute information vacuum, with no support and no prospects of ammunition or other resources. Well, as the saying goes «попытка не пытка», meaning trying doesn’t hurt. Except it should.
To Yevgheny Prigozhin:
Lay down your arms, stop embarrassing the country you claim to fight for and surrender to the authorities. You are currently only helping our enemy during Russia’s war for its future and for the future of the multipolar world. You are dirt, a traitor and you deserve to die a traitor’s death. Luckily for you, Putin will spare your life.
To Wagner fighters:
Men, you’ve done so much for Russia up until now and your sacrifice is appreciated and respected. Do not ruin all this now, there is still time. You cannot win. You don’t have any support in the country and no outside support has any chance of reaching you. You lost. Surrender now and spare not only your lives, but also your legacy.
To our dear President Vladimir Putin:
Dear Vladimir Vladimirovich, we are with you, all of us. In such a difficult time, in no case can one show weakness to the enemy, and I am sure you yourself understand this better than I do. When Prigozhin falls into your hands, do not spare him, he deserves death for his betrayal. You yourself said that betrayal is not forgiven.
This is not a joke, this is high treason and Prigozhin should face a firing squad. I rarely make such statements, but I will make it now. No mercy can be shown here. To stab your country in the back during such a time and to stab a man in the back who made you what you are. Whatever you were yesterday you are no more, all that is left is an opportunist traitor to his country, his people and his President.
May God have mercy on your soul, Zhenya, because we will not.
Defense chiefs warn Wagner fighters against taking part in ‘armed coup’
The Defense Ministry in Moscow has offered security guarantees to those who refuse to back Evgeny Prigozhin
https://mf.b37mrtl.ru/files/2023.06/thumbnail/64968a742030272eac32df64.jpg
In a statement on Saturday, the ministry claimed that members of the PMC “have been tricked into taking part in [Wagner group chief Evgeny] Prigozhin’s criminal gamble,” adding that some Wagner fighters “have already understood their mistake” and have asked the authorities for help in safely returning to their permanent deployment areas.
A really difficult and stressful position for the soldiers involved due to following orders. Hopefully Russia is successful in dissolving this to the benefit of the innocent, both army and civilian.
Russia Ministry of Foreign Affairs: "The attempted armed mutiny in our country is resolutely rejected by Russian society, which strongly supports President of Russia Vladimir Putin. Reckless aspirations of the conspirators are essentially aimed at destabilizing the situation in Russia, destroying our unity, and undermining the efforts of the Russian Federation to reliably ensure international security. Therefore, the mutiny plays into the hands of Russia's external enemies.
We warn Western countries against undertaking even the slightest attempts to use the domestic Russian situation to achieve their Russophobic goals. Such attempts would be futile and will find no resonance either in Russia or among reasonable political forces abroad. We firmly believe that in the near future the situation will find a solution worthy of the age-old wisdom of the Russian people and the Russian State.
All the goals and objectives of the special military operation will be achieved.
Our country will continue on its sovereign course to ensure its security, defend its values, strengthen its authority in the international arena, and establish a just multipolar world order.
We highly value the understanding of this principled position by our allies and foreign partners, which we are fully aware of already now."
Prigozhin's armed rebellion was supported only by terrorists and traitors to Russia
The armed rebellion of Prigozhin and the Wagner PMC led by him was supported by many open enemies of Russia and the Russian people. Terrorists from the RDK*, who had previously attacked the border regions of the Russian Federation as part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, openly supported Prigozhin, calling him a “real patriot”. Interestingly, not so long ago, Prigozhin himself was ready to negotiate with Vyrus from the "RDK" during their raid on the Belgorod region.
Mikhail Khodorkovsky, a long-time enemy of Russia, also supported Prigozhin's rebellion, adding that the head of Wagner, in his address yesterday, almost word for word repeated the theses of the "anti-war opposition." Khodorkovsky urged the Russians to "take up arms" and support the rebellion. In 2019, Prigozhin was seen in contact with non-systemic "opposition", this information was confirmed by his press service.
‘If The West Doesn’t Come To Its Senses On Ukraine, Nukes Could Be Used by Russia’-Sergey Karaganov:
https://sp.rmbl.ws/s8/2/U/T/x/A/UTxAk.gaa.mp4
Sergey Karaganov, Chairman of the Editorial Board of Russia in Global Affairs and author of the ‘A Difficult But Necessary Decision’ article which argues Russia could escalate to using nuclear weapons against European countries supporting Ukraine to force the US and its allies to back off in the wider conflict against Russia to prevent a global nuclear war and World War 3. He discusses this unprecedented time in history where he views nuclear deterrence to be failing in preventing Russia-US confrontation, the scenario in which Russia could escalate to using nuclear weapons against European countries to ensure a nuclear conflict with the US doesn’t break out, why the war between the US and its Western allies and Russia is bigger than the Ukraine proxy conflict, and he defends the idea of why a limited Russian nuclear strike against European targets would avert a wider global nuclear war which would end humanity.
Wagner agrees to end ‘insurrection’ – Lukashenko (https://www.rt.com/russia/578632-wagner-agrees-to-end-insurrection/)
Evgeny Prigozhin agreed to halt his march on Moscow and avert “a bloodbath," the Belarusian president said
Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko announced on Saturday that he had arranged a deal whereby Wagner Group leader Evgeny Prigozhin will abandon his mutiny in exchange for “security guarantees” for his fighters.
“Evgeny Prigozhin accepted the proposal of President Alexander Lukashenko to stop the movement of armed men of Wagner in Russia and take further steps to de-escalate tension,” read a statement from Lukashenko's office.
According to the statement, Lukashenko and Prigozhin held talks for the “whole day,” and “came to an agreement on the inadmissibility of unleashing a bloodbath on the territory of Russia.”
Lukashenko’s office said that the talks were held in coordination with Russian President Vladimir Putin, adding that Prigozhin was offered “an advantageous and acceptable option of resolving the situation, with security guarantees for the Wagner PMC fighters.”
The news came as a Wagner convoy drew closer to Moscow, several hours after members of the private military outfit passed through the southern city of Rostov-on-Don. In a series of video statements released since Friday, Prigozhin declared that he was advancing on Moscow to confront Russian military officials he deemed corrupt.
Prigozhin garnered no support from the Russian establishment. Instead, Putin accused the Wagner chief of “backstabbing our country and our people,” while Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) opened a criminal investigation into Prigozhin for “calling for an armed rebellion.”
Senior Russian political and military figures denounced Prigozhin’s mutiny, and called on Wagner fighters to lay down their arms.
Shortly after Lukashenko's announcement, Prigozhin confirmed that his troops were abandoning their push to Moscow and returning to their field camps.
BREAKING NEWS: Prigozhin Announces Retreat from Moscow:
Prigozhin said: "They wanted to disband Wagner PMC. In a day, we walked less than 200 kilometres from Moscow. During this time, we did not shed a single drop of blood from our fighters. Now the moment has come when blood can be shed. Therefore, understanding all the responsibility for that Russian blood will be shed on one of the sides, we turn our columns and leave in the opposite direction to the field camps according to the plan."
With the statement of the President of Belarus Lukashenka that he was brokering a deal, there seems to be hope that there will be de-escalation.
Lukashenko held talks with Prigozhin
Message from the press service of the President of the Republic of Belarus:
This morning, Russian President Vladimir Putin briefed his Belarusian counterpart on the situation in southern Russia with the private military company Wagner. The heads of state agreed on joint actions.
As a follow-up to the agreements, the President of Belarus, having additionally specified the situation through his channels, and in agreement with the President of Russia, held talks with the head of PMC Wagner Yevgeny Prigozhin.
Negotiations continued throughout the day. As a result, they agreed on the inadmissibility of unleashing a bloody massacre on the territory of Russia. Yevgeny Prigozhin accepted the proposal of the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko to stop the movement of armed persons of the Wagner company on the territory of Russia and take further steps to de-escalate tensions.
At the moment, an absolutely profitable and acceptable option for solving the situation is on the table, with security guarantees for the Wagner PMC fighters.
As previously reported, also during today, the President of Belarus held two meetings with the power bloc of the country on this situation.
KYIV, Ukraine (AP) — The owner of the Wagner private military contractor escalated his direct challenge to the Kremlin on Friday, calling for an armed rebellion aimed at ousting Russia’s defense minister. The security services reacted immediately by opening a criminal investigation into Yevgeny Prigozhin.
Prigozhin posted a series of angry video and audio recordings in which he accused Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu of ordering a rocket strike Friday on Wagner’s field camps in Ukraine, where his troops are fighting on behalf of Russia.
However, against the backdrop of the receding threat of internal conflict, the question remains of what was promised to Prigozhin by the Russian authorities and vice versa.
After all, as you know, "the only thing worse than a fratricidal war is to lose that war." If Prigozhin fails to achieve the implementation of the guarantees promised to him, then everything that happened will have no meaning, and he himself may finally lose everything he has.
Based on what seems to be available information at the moment, the peaceful stand-down must be a good thing.
But Putin has to make it absolutely 100% clear that Prigozhin will have nothing to do with Wagner, or any kind of military, ever again. There will be legal ways to bring that entire fighting force under the direct control of the Russian MoD.
Even if Prigozhin is bought a nice villa in Crimea somewhere with some kind of medal and a good pension, he has to be 100% totally retired and sidelined. And that has to be clear, unambiguous and visible to everyone, wherever they are.
I don't know yet if that's also the sentiment on Russian social media and mainstream TV, but I'd be certain no-one wants Prigozhin ever to be able to do anything like this again — even if he gets it into his head to do so. His dangerous, crazed unreliability is now exposed for all to see.
If Putin is reluctant to press charges of treason, there may be ways to bring him into medical care and have that widely visible as well. If that's possible without old-fashioned straightjacket psychiatric butchery, it might be a reasonable outcome if respected medics formally state — probably truthfully:
"Prigozhin has severe PTSD combined with various other medical conditions. He is simply not a well man, and has not been for some time."
Then, maybe all this could all be forgotten quite quickly without anyone baying for him to be imprisoned forever.
If this was a movie (and it feels like one!), the third act would have Russian Special Forces silently eliminating him, with the blame being put on one of his own soldiers all by prior agreement. Here's what they posted (https://t.me/Slavyangrad/52182) less than 10 minutes ago:
~~~

Prigozhin is not expected to continue in any role relating to the SMO or maintain any relationship with the former "Wagner PMC" fighters that are brought under the MoD umbrella. Wagner PMC will not continue as a separate entity in the SMO. What that means for the Wagner operations outside Russia, I do not know. This is all speculative, of course.

In my opinion, for any deal like this (https://t.me/Slavyangrad/52180) to be feasible, Prigozhin has to withdraw entirely from the public scene. If he does not, this is a prelude to further crisis.

The criminal case, launched this weekend, against Wagner Private Military Company founder Evgeniy Prigozhin will be dropped and he will leave Russia, the Kremlin announced on Saturday evening.

Spokesman Dmitry Peskov revealed that Prigozhin, a Saint Petersburg Tycoon who made his initial fortune in catering, "will go to Belarus."

He added that Wagner's fighters will not be persecuted, taking into account their efforts on the frontlines of the Ukraine conflict. Peskov explained that President Vladimir Putin's team "have always respected their exploits."

Wow. Almost looks like a setup right? Prigozhin goes to Belarus, a very friendly country. Most of Wagner joins the Russina military. Those Wagner soldiers who supported the "coup" are not prosecuted. Wagner is effectively sidelined. Putin and team find out who possible traitors are throughout the country. Western Intelligence folks involved in some way, I would think? A massive sting operation here?

Saw a comment only that some Ret American General said.. Russia had fooled the CIA.. (I can not find it right now.)

Wagner has been playing a role of a disgruntled leader.. IMHO
I am sure he attracted some bites for the bait by Western sources.

Also one map showed Chechens Loyal To Putin fighters moved down from Central Russian to join up with the Rebels.. and they merged and are redeployed to new areas in Ukraine...

Like it was a big troop movement.. hidden as an anti rebel move..

If you see a change in Russian Leadership rapidly.. you will have a good idea if they flushed some ambitious people out of the woods.

That is a purge, it exposes all the Fifth Columnists in Wagner.

It has a lot of convicts, so, it must include many convicts of the treasonous/terrorist type, who may have been interested in whatever happened here. Somehow I missed the motive.

From the view of Defense, it is probably working out better, to get rid of some private guy trying to argue with you, from what is a strangely American-style mercenary band. Such a thing does not really sound Russian.

It does not sound particularly sane, I do not see how anyone would believe that something like this could even be attempted. I would not draw any conclusions as to whether he was controlled by someone, Russia or anyone else, or whatever may be going on additionally related. If damage happened as a result of a threat to the state, it constitutes terrorism, interestingly compared to the fact that most ISIS and HTS, etc., have abandoned this theater and returned to Syria, after attempting to assist the Ukrainian side.

Various post Quoted... Putin just announced he will drop all charges against Prigozhin!

Putin is moving his chess pieces in place and the West thinks Prigozhin's coup weakens Putin or embarrassed him.

"Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov:
- Accusations were dropped against Prigozhin, who is leaving Russia for Belarus
- The people of Wagner who did not participate in the uprising will sign contracts with the Ministry of Defense
- Wagner's fighters who participated were not charged
- & No change in leadership in the Russian army - Peskov"

So the Wagner's fighters who participated had already signed contracts with the Ministry of Defence!!!!

He and Putin scammed the CIA diversity hires....

Defend Soledar: failed
Defend Balhmut: failed
Counter offensive: failed
Wagner coup: failed

One thing is for sure, the western media have been utterly humiliated by this.

They jumped on these events with gleeful headlines like "Civil War in Russia", "Prigozhin's March on Moscow!", and "the End of Putin". Now they are having to backtrack and make sense of it all.

No one who thought it was a legit coup will admit they got played. Hilarious.

Yeah and the Russian officers in Wagner did nothing.

DPR did nothing.

Police did nothing.

Air Force, Army, etc.

It's theater.

What an extraordinary couple of days have just happened! (About which I would scarecely have known, were it not for Project Avalon and its stalwart posters).

I suspect that - even if some standard official narrative becomes a consensus - what really has been going-on will always remain a mystery, or more likely a subject of contention.

What is strange is that - over the past half day or so - there have been so many, such confident, narratives of what 'is' happening, or what has-happened - and usually that narrative fits exactly whatever prior ideology that person espoused! It's clear that most people's idea of understanding the world is pure projection - nothing that actually happens is ever allowed to disturb existing prejudices.

Yet, the extraordinary thing was that this seemed to come out of the blue, it did not seem to arise from the flow of larger events - except in the limited sense of Prigozhin's escalating and increasingly wild rhetoric over past weeks.

In other words; this was probably about individual persons - their choices and actions; therefore Not a consequence of the inexorable unfolding of abstract processes...

My current favourite notion is that this has been something like a Shakespearian tragedy; in which a 'great man' rose to be a national hero, with "the world at his feet' - but was driven by inner demons and personal flaws (on the basis that power both reveals such flaws, and corrupts in its own right) to destroy himself and his legacy in a matter of hours!

If something like this is the case, it may explain what looks like extraordinary magnanimity (so far, at this point) in the treatment of Prigozhin. It looks as if there is genuine sympathy for him, even from those whom he has attacked - as if Prighozin is regarded as a good man brought low by his demons; rather than that he was all-along merely a traitorous schemer whose true nature was suddenly revealed over the past couple of days.

Tragic hero or unmasked traitor?... At present it looks as if the authorities regard Prighozin as the former - or, at least, are giving him a chance to become so.

This may become clearer if Prighozin's 'madness' resolves, and he realizes the horribleness of what he has done and shows genuine humble remorse - and he performs acts of penance. I would suppose that something of that kind would be necessary to the Russian national mind.

At present, such repentance and apology seems not to have happened, the 'madness' continues, and the longer it goes on not happening the more it looks like P's personal nature always was selfish and scheming.

Having made an utterly wild, irrational, and fore-doomed grab at ultimate glory; in a mere moment, Prighozin made himself (potentially) that most odious of men - a backstabbing traitor out for personal gain, even in the existential national crisis of war.

But from a 'Shakespearian tragedy' perspective, I hope that P does sober-up and recognize the magnitude of the crime against his country he has perpetrated. That would make a story for the ages!

At present, and for a short while only; Prighozin's fate through the ages lies in his own hands, or heart. This is a very public test of character - with unavoidable and permanent consequences. That is the fascination for me. It is easy to forget that individuals make a difference, for better and worse; and that therefore even large scale events may be unpredictable and surprising. Ordinary people are probably better at noticing such realities, than are intellectuals.

Many wise and sensible comments from members here about the extraordinary events over the last two days. Whatever the actual case really was these are interesting comments too. Troop movements under the guise of a 'coup'?

❗️Putin is an absolute master of 5D chess. The results of the so called "coup d'état" are:

🇷🇺24th June: Wagner was 200km from Moscow.

🇺🇦25th June: Wagner is 100km from Kiev.

⚡️This is some next level Sun Tzu Art of war tactics by Putin. Genius. 👏

Given the fact that — apparently — Prigozhin is not being arrested, and PMC Wagner is being deployed to the front lines in Belarus, I think we can confidently conclude that this whole thing WAS a psyop of some sort. Most likely a counter-intel operation to smoke out traitors.

1672693196990865408

There's definitely a Psy-Op element to this; witness also the western media outlets going into a near meltdown about there being no 'coup', which has given me an admittedly very wry smile all morning thus far.

Whither Prigozhin? That remains to be seen of course. But I hope for a humane outcome along the lines of Bruce's most recent post. Shake-spearian? And some :)

🤚⚔️🇺🇦 Wagner could lead attack on Kiev from Belarus, British general warns - Sky News (https://news.sky.com/story/ukraine-russia-war-latest-putin-wagner-prigozhin-rostov-on-don-live-updates-12541713?postid=6095813#liveblog-body)

"Ukraine's leaders must guard against a possible attack led by Yevgeny Prigozhin launched at Kyiv from Belarus", General Lord Richard Dannatt tells Trevor Phillips on Sky News.

"The fact that he's gone to Belarus is a matter of some concern," said the former British Army chief of general staff.

If he has "kept an effective fighting force around him then he presents a threat again to the Ukrainian flank closest to Kyiv", where the war began, he said.

Lord Dannatt said it "is quite possible" that Russia may use the Wagner Group to try and take Kyiv again.

"The aftershocks of yesterday will reverberate for quite some time."
Nonetheless, there were no immediate "winners" from "yesterday's fiasco", he said.

"Putin is definitely much diminished. The Russian military... is clearly in some disarray," said Lord Dannatt."

Who wants the British media to be right at least once?

Apart from the usual western guff about 'disarray', 'weakened' etc.. which we've grown accustomed to, for once it does seem as if some sense is emanating from the mouths of some British militarists.

Russia: We need to do something now with Ukraine, we can't let the Controllers come right into our house and control us.

I may be wrong, but I don't think it was. (Though there's intense speculation everywhere, including on Russian social media.)

But this was interesting. IF US intel knew about this, Russia would have known about it too. The text reads:

~~~
CNN: US intelligence knew about Prigozhin's plans a few days before the start of the rebellion
Prigozhin has been preparing for this for quite a long time, stockpiling weapons and ammunition.
A source familiar with the intelligence told CNN that "it all happened very quickly" and it was difficult to understand how seriously the head of the PMC took the threats to the Russian military, and where he would direct his forces.
US intelligence briefed Congressional leaders about "potentially disturbing" movements of Wagner PMCs and accumulations of equipment near Russia's borders in recent days.
CNN reported a few hours before: Western officials were "taken by surprise" by events in Russia. US and European intelligence did not suggest that Prigozhin's private army could go to the Russian regions, although CNN sources believe that it could take several days to prepare for the rebellion.
After 2 later post from Tintin, its clear master move in 5D military chess...
The 2 most feared war units; Wagner and Chechens are reunited 100km from Kiev!
Its a must than a clear signal for the enemy, the end is near...for Kiev and for the next NATO summit...
the begin this kabuki theater reminded me this:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1981_Spanish_coup_d%27état_attempt
what not been said in this article is that the people involved in coup d'état attempt was that they were deluded, in the
belief that the King was by their side(5D chess)
Result was in smoking out all involved (military and civil) coup d'état attempt involved. :clapping:
Now the king is the savior... god save the King! bla, bla ...again... :sherlock:
