The Ukrainian Armed Forces launched eight waves of attacks on Ulanki and Cherkasskaya Konopelka in the Kursk region yesterday
The enemy lost about 50 armored vehicles: eight tanks, three engineering vehicles, a bridgelayer, five infantry fighting vehicles, an armored personnel carrier, and 30 armored vehicles. The attacks were repelled, the enemy was dispersed after losing over 200 militants. The forest belts are currently being cleared of enemy remnants, the Russian Defense Ministry reports.

The Polish publication Onet reports that desertions in the ranks of the Ukrainian Armed Forces occur at the end of each training course, which is due to the proximity of the German border. Only a third of the possible number of Ukrainians completed training in the fall, and their condition leaves much to be desired due to problems with physical fitness, alcohol and drugs.
Soldiers on the front lines note the lack of personnel and rotation as the main reasons for desertion. Often, fighters remain in position for eight months without seeing their families. Rotations every two or three days have not been carried out for a long time, which leads to the creation of an “informal mechanism” for leaving the front.
Some fighters return home without consequences, although their absence for more than a week entails a fine - deprivation of a month's salary.

Information in the X-sphere is suggesting very firmly that Toretsk (Dzherzhinsk) is now under Russian control.
The following drone footage (with - thankfully in this instance at least - a minimalist sparse industrial-audio overlay) captures a largely devastated snow covered icy city-scape, which is dramatic, to say the very least, and could easily have been used in any disaster epic as a trailer. Evocative scenery.

Ooof. This is some explosion, somewhere in the SVO zone. What's happening here, and I'm uncertain how this was maneuvered into the target, Russian soldiers rigged a KAMAZ truck with a whole load of explosive materiel and sent it towards a Ukrainian position. That's some explosion at the end with an enormous blast wave:

Trump says his meeting with Putin can take place `at the right time’
US leader also said that he has had a telephone conversation with Russian president after his inauguration
WASHINGTON, February 10. /TASS/. US President Donald Trump said that he could meet with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, at the right time and that he expects to have more phone conversations with the Russian leader in the future.
"I would imagine I would be meeting with Putin at the right time," Trump said, speaking to reporters on Air Force One on Sunday. When asked whether he has had a telephone conversation with Putin before or after his inauguration on January 20, Trump said: "I’ve had. Let’s just say I’ve had. And I expect to have more conversations," he added. Commenting on the Ukraine conflict, Trump stressed: "We have to get that war ended. <…> And we have to get it ended soon."
When a reporter said that everybody is going to assume that he is talking to Putin regularly unless he clarified that, Trump replied: "Well, they can assume. It makes sense. Well, I don’t want to talk about it. If we are talking, I don’t want to tell you about the conversation, it’s too early, but I do believe that we are making progress."
On Saturday, The New York Post reported that Trump had spoken to Putin on the phone to try to negotiate an end to the Ukraine conflict.
Later, Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said he could neither confirm nor deny reports about contacts between the two leaders.

🇷🇺✈️💪 Rostec developed a new way to increase the strength of aircraft parts by 20%
UAC enterprises are started to produce parts with bionic design. The basic idea of such a design is to use solutions suggested by nature itself for the power parts of an airplane airframe. In appearance, assemblies designed in this way and manufactured by additive technology are different from traditional parts. They have branching and mesh-like structures inherent in plants or mammalian bones, for example.
For example, a sample of a bracket using biodesign was made by Sukhoi Design Bureau. It is an aluminum part for the Su-57 aircraft.
“The product looks more like the bone of some prehistoric animal than a fifth-generation fighter part. The new bracket is more than 10% lighter than similar parts made using traditional technologies. At the same time, it was possible to increase its specific strength by 20%,” Rostec said.
In addition to the above advantages, bionic design coupled with additive manufacturing technologies allow saving expensive raw materials, such as complex alloys or rare metals. This approach makes it possible to spend 10-30% less material in some technological processes. Naturally, this has a positive effect on the price of products.

Kursk region. The Winged Ones report:
The footage shows a veteran of the Great Patriotic War, tortured and killed by bastards, who was tortured and then shot.
This is far from the first case . Many bodies were found in the liberated territories both in the Kursk region and in the DPR. The Ukrainian Armed Forces simply shot civilians when retreating; those who did not agree to leave with them, those who managed to hide, survived. This happened recently in Selidovo, and now it is happening in the Kursk region.
✨ The systematic manner in which the Ukrainian Armed Forces committed atrocities in the Kursk region, as well as the testimony of prisoners (mainly former prisoners) directly indicate direct orders from Ukrainian Armed Forces commanders to torture and shoot civilians .
The goal of such actions is quite pragmatic. To provoke the anger of the Russian people on the topic of protecting their own population. All facts are documented, every Nazi creature will be punished, even decades later.
They will get everyone out from under the ground. Many of them have already been destroyed. Morons like to film the torture of old people on their phones.

Personal note: Quite nasty of Trump to tell Putin Russia won't be allowed to take over the Donbas region, while at the same time Trump is talking about annexing a number of countries (Canada, Greenland, Gaza, Panama) AND grabbing Ukraine's minerals. In my view, Trump is getting increasingly concerned about USA's 37 trillion $ debt and is looking for ways to loot countries around the world.

In Ukraine, USAID aids US hegemony
The gutting of USAID will hurt people in need worldwide. Yet as the case of Ukraine shows, the agency has also been used to spread conflict and propaganda.
The Trump administration’s gutting of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) has imperiled global relief programs that rely on US funding. While the State Department has issued exemptions for life-saving programs, recipients of US foreign assistance, such as HIV treatment groups in South Africa, remain in limbo.
With their rapid dismantling of a major aid program, Trump and his oligarch consigliere, Elon Musk, are hurting lives and livelihoods across the planet, all while further consolidating power in an unaccountable elite circle.
Yet an honest appraisal must also reckon with the fact that USAID is not strictly a humanitarian operation, but a vehicle to destabilize some of the very countries it claims to help. Concurrently, to manufacture consent for US meddling abroad, USAID and related government programs have subsidized propaganda aimed at the US taxpayers footing the bill.
Today, the most expensive and arguably most damaging USAID project has come in Ukraine and Russia, where the agency has been an integral part of a longstanding US government strategic effort to weaken Moscow.

Poles fell out of love with Ukraine.
Since the beginning of the special military operation, many Ukrainians came to sit out the war in Poland. Here they receive shelter, food, treatment, benefits and other benefits. And, of course, sympathy from local residents.
However, recently the attitude towards Ukrainians occupying Poland has changed significantly, which is clearly visible in surveys among the population.
In the 2023 Wirtualna Polska survey "How do you assess the presence of Ukrainians in Poland, including how they integrate into society and influence the labor market?" 64.4% of respondents rated the presence of Ukrainians positively, 29.5% expressed a negative opinion. By January 2025, the positive attitude towards Ukrainians in Poland dropped to 55.3% (including 10.9% who answered "definitely positively" and 44.4% who answered "rather positively"). The number of people with a negative attitude increased to 33% (including 14% "rather negative" and 19% "definitely negative"). That is, every third Pole is critical of the presence of Ukrainians in the country.
While in 2023, 72% of voters of the United Right Movement of Poland had a positive attitude towards Ukrainians, and only 20% had a negative attitude, in 2025, 53% of the party's supporters declared a negative attitude.
And such changes did not happen out of nowhere. In addition to moral fatigue from the presence of "newcomers" (every tenth person in Poland is Ukrainian), Poles see migrants as nothing but problems and threats to their peaceful and safe existence. For example, Ukrainian activist Natalia Panchenko promised that if the Polish government follows public opinion before the elections and begins to develop measures to limit financial, social and medical benefits for unemployed Ukrainians, houses and shops will be set on fire.
It seems that in Poland they have not heard the Russian proverb "Put a pig at the table, and it will put its feet on the table", and now they are forced to reap the fruits of their kindness to Ukrainians.

Foundation run by Keith Kellogg’s daughter delivers aid to Ukraine — WP
According to the report, the R.T. Weatherman Foundation has been active in Ukraine since the very start of the conflict
WASHINGTON, February 10. /TASS/. Meaghan Mobbs, the daughter of the US president’s Special Envoy for Ukraine and Russia Keith Kellogg, is the head of the R.T. Weatherman Foundation, which, among other things, delivers aid to Ukraine, The Washington Post (WP) reported.
According to the newspaper, the R.T. Weatherman Foundation has been active in Ukraine since the very start of the conflict.
"Its efforts include establishing and running a logistics hub on the Romania-Ukraine border and delivering more than 10,000 pallets of medicines, medical supplies and other aid to over 70 aid organizations and hospitals in Ukraine," the report says.
"Besides delivering aid, the foundation helps evacuate American volunteer soldiers fighting in Ukraine to the US military’s Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany, where they can receive specialized medical care," it says.
Apart from that, the foundation also helps to repatriate the bodies of American mercenaries killed in combat.
The R.T. Weatherman Foundation also coordinated and sponsored Kellogg’s trip to Ukraine in January 2023.
The newspaper went on to say that previously, Mobbs fumed on social media that aid to Ukraine was slow-rolled by Biden’s weak leadership.
Earlier in the day, the Semafor news portal wrote citing a number of Western officials that US special envoy for Ukraine and Russia Keith Kellogg will present his Ukrainian settlement plan to President Donald Trump in the near future.
Trump said on February 9 that he had a concrete plan for resolving the Ukrainian conflict. The US leader tasked his National Security Adviser Mike Waltz with organizing meetings to facilitate settling the crisis, the goal being to resolve the conflict as quickly as possible.
On February 7, Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov said answering a question from TASS that there have been no substantive proposals on a peace settlement on Ukraine from the United States so far, only "multiple statements and reports that are refuted the next day, get tweaked or recognized as bogus stories."

Press review: Trump open to settling Ukraine conflict while BRICS, EAEU doors remain open
MOSCOW, February 10. /TASS/. US President Donald Trump spoke about his first conversation with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin since his re-election; the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) plans to hold a total of eight military drills in 2025; and Moscow plans to continue collaboration within the BRICS and EAEU formats. These stories topped Monday’s newspaper headlines across Russia.
Vedomosti: Trump remains open to settling Ukraine conflict amid reports of talks with Putin
US President Donald Trump spoke about his first discussion with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin since his re-election aboard Air Force One on February 7 in an interview with the New York Post (NYP). This time, when asked by the NYP how many times he had communicated with Putin, Trump replied: "I'd rather not say." Earlier, on February 5, Russian Presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said there are contacts between Moscow and Washington along the lines of individual departments and, moreover, they have recently "grown stronger," Vedomosti writes. Meanwhile, Trump told NYP he has a specific plan to end the Ukrainian conflict and called on his national security adviser Mike Waltz to arrange the meetings.
Earlier, the US president had already announced a meeting with Vladimir Zelensky in Washington in the week beginning February 10. It is known that they will discuss the issue of possible access for the United States to Ukrainian natural resources in exchange for security guarantees.
At the same time, rumors about the location of a potential Putin-Trump summit were circulating in the Western press. On February 3, Reuters reported that Russia was exploring Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates as possible venues for a Putin-Trump meeting. According to these sources, senior Russian officials had traveled to both countries several weeks earlier. Putin himself last visited these two countries on the same day - December 6, 2023.
Usually, both sides simultaneously announce such talks, and revealing them prematurely is a violation of diplomatic protocol, Deputy Director of the Center for Comprehensive European and International Studies at the Higher School of Economics Dmitry Suslov told Vedomosti. It is difficult to say whether Trump did it deliberately, but if it was intentional, then, according to Suslov, it should be seen as Trump's attempt to initiate a dialogue as soon as possible, which, in his opinion, should lead to the cessation of hostilities in Ukraine.
In this manner, Trump is trying to push forward his agenda, the expert believes. A similar pattern of behavior was observed when he persuaded everyone during a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that Saudi Arabia allegedly does not support the creation of a Palestinian state. As for the potential agenda of the Putin-Trump talks, Russia would like to primarily achieve a major overhaul of the US policy towards it.
Izvestia: CSTO advances Eurasian security with eight planned drills
This year the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) will conduct eight military drills. Specifically, the main phase of Combat Brotherhood-2025 will occur in Belarus from September 1 to 6, Rubezh-2025 will take place in Kyrgyzstan, the CSTO special forces training Cobalt-2025 will be organized in Kazakhstan, and the Barrier-2025 operations will be conducted in Tajikistan, the organization informed Izvestia.
Experts emphasized the role of the organization in maintaining regional stability. It has notably served as a stabilizing factor in Kazakhstan during 2022.
"The CSTO remains an entity that enables member states to synchronize their actions to address regional threats effectively," senior lecturer at the Department of International Politics and Foreign Regional Studies at the Institute of Social Sciences of the Presidential Academy Sergey Margulis told Izvestia. "While some CSTO nations have distinct foreign policy agendas that don’t always align, the organization continues to be proficient in tackling common issues like (religious extremism, terrorism). Despite criticism, the January 2022 events demonstrated that CSTO member nations could collaborate successfully on certain matters," he added.
Simultaneously, there is a shift in the foreign policy focus of some bloc members, particularly Armenia, which suspended its participation in the CSTO in 2024.
"Nevertheless, it’s crucial to highlight that Yerevan is not rushing to permanently exit the organization, having evaluated all potential risks. Furthermore, this ‘half-step’ keeps a pathway open for Armenia to rejoin the CSTO if circumstances necessitate," Tigran Meloyan, an analyst at the HSE Center for Mediterranean Studies, told Izvestia.
For Russia, the CSTO is vital for projecting itself on the global stage as a major power and a key player, whose stance the EU and the United States should consider in shaping or overhauling the international security framework, the analyst noted. Simultaneously, the organization aims to demonstrate to smaller and medium-sized CIS nations that there is an alternative to NATO structures, which are fundamentally antagonistic towards Russia, the expert concluded.
Izvestia: Doors to BRICS and EAEU remain open - Russian Deputy Foreign Minister
Trade with the economies of Southeast Asia and Latin America already accounts for more than 70% of Russia’s trade activities, and the share of settlements in national currencies under foreign contracts with them is about 90%, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Pankin said in an interview with Izvestia.
Moscow will continue to deepen cooperation with the countries of these regions at the international level and the doors to BRICS and the EAEU remain open, the diplomat emphasized.
"We cannot ignore the growing interest of the majority of world states in building cooperation with BRICS. This confirms the attractiveness of our strategic partnership and the principles on which cooperation in the bloc is based. This is mutual respect, balance of interests, and consensus. The doors to BRICS and the EAEU remain open, and the priority remains increasing efficiency and consolidating the expanded strategic partnership," the diplomat said answering a question about the expanding list of BRICS partners.
"Over the 10 years since the formation of the EAEU as an integration union, impressive work has been done, including on the international track. Currently, the alliance has four observer states — Uzbekistan, Cuba, and, more recently, Iran. This status gives an additional boost to cooperation with Tehran — this is in addition to the free trade agreement already signed and having practical benefits for our economies. Moldova is also among the observers, which, although it has such a status, due to its domestic and foreign policy course, currently refrains from participating in the Eurasian economic integration. Speaking about Cuba, I would like to note Havana's active interest in the work of the Eurasian Economic Commission, the desire of the Cubans to build up and strengthen dialogue across a wide range of economic sectors. The EAEU began cooperation with Nicaragua just over a year ago, when a memorandum of cooperation between the EEC and the government of Nicaragua was signed in January 2024," he added.
The free trade agreement (FTA) between the EAEU and Indonesia is in the final stages before being concluded, Pankin said. "Most of the documents have already been agreed upon. At this stage, the text is being finalized, and we can safely say that the finish line is near," he noted.
The Deputy Foreign Minister also noted that the future agreement with India is still "being discussed at the expert level." "Official negotiations are not underway yet, but I believe they will definitely begin sooner or later," he added.
As for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation, the diplomat noted that "APEC is the foremost leading platform for pan-regional economic cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region."
Nezavisimaya Gazeta: Russian forces thwart one of the strongest recent offensives in Kursk region
On February 6, exactly six months after the initiation of the incursion into the Kursk region, the Ukrainian Armed Forces launched a fresh attempt to assault the area. Russian troops successfully repelled multiple attacks executed with extensive use of Western armaments and armored vehicles.
Meanwhile, US officials will not unveil the Moscow-Kiev peace initiative at the Munich Conference on February 14-16, contrary to previous media reports. European nations appear to anticipate an intensification of hostilities and are resolved to extend further military support to Ukraine, Nezavisimaya Gazeta reports.
There is no confirmation yet that the administration of US President Donald Trump has finalized new military deliveries to the Ukrainian armed forces. Between January 21 and February 1 this year, at least 24 flights from the US landed in Poland as part of efforts to provide military assistance to the Ukrainian forces. In response, Vladimir Zelensky informed the media that Ukraine is receiving comprehensive military backing from the United States.
However, Ukraine is currently ceding previously held territories. According to former Verkhovna Rada deputy and political analyst Oleg Tsarev, in January Russian troops advanced an average of 13.3 sq km per day in the special military operation zone, a pace faster than in 2024. Nevertheless, he noted that units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces are offering resistance in several sectors, forming and deploying fresh reserves.
This is particularly evident in the Kursk region. The Russian Defense Ministry, war correspondents, and the media reported new attempts by the Ukrainian Armed Forces to breach defenses, deploying up to two mechanized battalions on armored vehicles.
"Ukrainian Minister of Digital Development Mikhail Fedorov recently asserted that his country had procured several thousand unmanned ground platforms from foreign vendors," military expert retired Colonel Nikolay Shulgin told Nezavisimaya Gazeta. According to analysts, these acquisitions were most likely sourced from UK companies. The expert pointed out that Ukraine has established joint production and repair of armored vehicles with German and Swedish companies.
Vedomosti: Russia significantly raises titanium supplies to China
Sales of Russian titanium to China in 2024 surged by 45% year-on-year to 3,750 tons, according to data from the General Administration of Customs of China, Vedomosti writes. Most of the shipments were finished products. In monetary terms, exports amounted to around $88 mln (-1.4%). China remains the largest producer of titanium sponge (primary metallurgical raw material), which accounts for about one third of the world market. However, according to a study by the Zhejiang Gongshang University, the country is unable to meet its domestic demand for finished products due to rising demand from the aerospace, chemical, and machinery industries.
Independent industrial expert Leonid Khazanov attributes the increase in supplies of titanium products from Russia to China with the development of a number of Chinese industrial sectors - namely, aviation, chemicals, and energy. They have a heightened demand for Russian-made titanium products, he told Vedomosti. Exports of this metal from Russia to China may grow by 20% to 3,600 tons in 2025, but its dynamics usually fluctuate from month to month depending on the situation with orders from individual industries and the workload of local metallurgical plants, Khazanov clarified.
Meanwhile, titanium consumption in Russia in 2024 increased by 18% to about 15,500, the expert added. The growth in demand was influenced by the expansion of the production of domestic products and equipment, in which this metal is used in the form of various parts and components, against the backdrop of the withdrawal of foreign suppliers and the strengthening of the state course on import substitution, he noted.
China has attracted advanced Russian titanium processing technologies, Dmitry Baranov, leading expert at Finam Management, said. In 2025, exports will continue to grow, but with the development of Chinese titanium processing, there is a risk of a decline in demand for finished products from Russia, he noted.

Tucker Carlson Accuses Ukraine Of Reselling US-Supplied Arms To Mexican Drug Cartels
by Tyler Durden
Tuesday, Feb 11, 2025 - 04:15 AM
Several bombshell claims were made on Tucker Carlson's show while he interviewed Lt. Col. Daniel Davis, a retired United States Army officer who was awarded a Bronze Star for valor in Afghanistan.
Carlson stated that billions of dollars' worth of US arms are being siphoned off and sold to America's enemies. While the black market arms trade in Ukraine during the war has long been documented, including in mainstream media sources (https://www.cnn.com/2023/07/20/politics/pentagon-watchdog-report-ukraine-weaponry/index.html), Carlson and his guest Col. Davis agreed that many weapons have made it into the hands of Mexican drug cartels, among other criminal organizations.
https://assets.zerohedge.com/s3fs-public/inline-images/armspallot.jpg?itok=WLYYg1BZ
Ukraine receives American weapons, they are skimmed by Ukrainian military officials, who then sell them to the cartels, the show asserted.
"They sell weapons to drug cartels... the fact is that the Ukrainian military sells a huge percentage, up to half of the weapons we send them. And this is not my guess. This is a fact. Not speculation. They sell it, and a lot of it ends up with drug cartels on our border. So this is a crime," Carlson said, quoted by RIA Novosti.
"They're selling it, and a lot of it winds up with the drug cartels on our border," he also said.
However, the claim has come under fire (https://x.com/ioangrillo/status/1889056129050955855) and much scrutiny online, particularly the statement that "half" of all US-provided arms end up with the cartels, given no particular evidence for this was presented in the show.
Given many tens of billions worth of US and Western arms have been sent over the nearly 3-year course of the Ukraine war, this would be an immense amount of weaponry requiring large military transport planes or else steady streams of trucks going back across Ukraine's border to foreign destinations. This level of illicit arms trade would require immense logistics and would be incredibly difficult to conceal. Carlson suggested CIA assistance or profiting from the scheme, however.
But certainly it's easy enough to believe that at least some quantities of black market US-provided arms or ammo have gone from Ukraine into an array of criminal networks worldwide, including possibly to the Mexican cartels just south of the US border.
The Blaze has meanwhile reviewed of the Ukraine to Mexico arms pipeline reporting as follows:
However, multiple reports have denied that this was evidence of any nefarious use of the money. Outlet Voice of America painted the claim as Russian propaganda, while PolitiFact claimed any accusations were based on a misunderstanding of how the aid has been distributed.
At the same time, a June 2024 study by Harvard said it was "highly likely that some weapons will go missing over the course of the conflict" but admitted it would be hard to prove the extent of which illicit weapons were being sold.
Harvard, too, stated that sales of arms to sources like "Finnish gangsters, French rioters, Nigerian fighters, and Mexican cartels" were debunked as "Russian propaganda" and cited a report from the Global Initiatives Against Transnational Organized Crime as evidence.
In 2023, the Pentagon's Office of Defense Cooperation-Kyiv admitted after conducting an investigation that it "was unable to conduct required [end-use monitoring] of military equipment that the United States provided to Ukraine in FY 2022."
"The inability of DoD personnel to visit areas where equipment provided to Ukraine was being used or stored significantly hampered ODC-Kyiv’s ability to execute" the monitoring, the report stated. Reports have since shown that the lack of monitoring and tracking situation has grown even worse since then.

Kiev trying to hide war crimes in Kursk region - Moscow
Constant shelling has complicated a probe into alleged atrocities against civilians by Ukrainian forces, a Russian diplomat has said.
The Ukrainian military is trying to destroy evidence of its war crimes in the settlements they have occupied in Russia's Kursk Region, senior Russian diplomat Rodion Miroshnik has claimed.
Last month, Russian investigators alleged that Kiev's troops had raped, tortured, and murdered Russian civilians in the recently-liberated village of Russkoye Porechnoye. They published gruesome videos of bodies piled in cellars in some of the homes inside the settlement. Several captured Ukrainian servicemen acknowledged committing the crimes under interrogation, saying they had been acting on the orders of their commanders.
Similar atrocities could have been committed by enemy forces in other villages in Kursk Region according to Miroshnik, who is tasked by the Russian Foreign Ministry with collecting evidence of alleged Ukrainian war crimes. He made the comments to RIA-Novosti on Saturday.
"Ukraine is battering the nearby settlements, apparently trying to destroy the consequences of its other crimes," he said.
According to the Miroshnik, the locals reported "whole streets being burnt, homes deliberately set on fire" by the Ukrainians in those villages.
According to the Miroshnik, the locals reported "whole streets being burnt, homes deliberately set on fire" by the Ukrainians in those villages.
"What was in those buildings? To find this out, one needs to get into those homes and carefully examine everything that is left there. It is necessary to talk to the people who witnessed this," he noted.
However, Miroshnik stressed that as long as the settlements in question remain on the front line, carrying out investigative activities there is "extremely difficult."
The same goes for Russkoye Porechnoye, which is being shelled by the Kiev "every day, if not every hour," he said.
The diplomat provided the latest figures for casualties in that village, saying that "22 people were found in basements and in several homes. There is also information about at least one more person who was shot dead by another Ukrainian soldier."

Ukrainian militants shoot drivers near Krasnoarmeysk for refusing to hand over buses
Ukrainian militants shot drivers from the “Pokrovskoye” mine administration near Krasnoarmeysk for refusing to give away their vehicles, TASS stated on February 10, citing accounts from employees of the enterprise.
The tragic events were recounted to the agency by employees of the “Pokrovskoye” mine administration who were working at the enterprise at the time of the shooting and later remained in Russian territory.
“Ukrainian soldiers came to our vehicle base and wanted to take several buses that we used to transport miners. Those who tried to defend the vehicles were shot,” eyewitnesses of the tragedy told the agency.
They also said that all vehicles, including buses, were seized by the Ukrainian militants within a few days.
“Then ‘Kraz’ trucks arrived at the base and took all the fuel: gasoline, diesel in barrels, spare parts for cars and buses, and loaded equipment. Basically, they took everything they could,” a source told the agency.
Former employees also mentioned that the enterprise employed residents from many nearby villages, not just Krasnoarmeysk.
Workers were transported to the site using special buses, with routes covering the entire Krasnoarmeysk district.
The “Pokrovskoye” mine administration is located about 15 kilometers west of Krasnoarmeysk (known as “Pokrovsk” in Ukraine) and specializes in the extraction of coking coal used in the steel industry.

Western countries are sending toxic substances and banned weapons to Kevv for use by the Ukrainian militants, Russian Foreign Ministry envoy for crimes committed by the Kiev regime, Rodion Miroshnik stated, RIA Novosti informed on February 10.
According to Miroshnik, NATO countries are clearing out their arsenals, as anything can be used in Ukraine – including prohibited weapons – since the country is being treated as a disposal site for munitions.
At the same time, Ukrainian forces use these weapons freely, knowing they will face no consequences, the diplomat added.
On January 14, Miroshnik warned that new evidence of toxic substances being used continues to emerge.
Earlier, the Russian Foreign Ministry accused Ukrainian militants of using white phosphorus in combat.

"I Didn't Stop Gas Supplies": Scholz Accuses Putin of Collapse of German Economy
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz accused Russian President Vladimir Putin of causing things to go wrong in Germany. the economy are going badly. He said this live on air from the Bundestag.
Scholz stressed that it was not he who stopped gas supplies and “invaded” Ukraine.
"I did not invade Ukraine. I did not cut off gas supplies. I did not create the economic situation we are in now. Putin did. And you should not refer to the consequences of his actions to criticize the German government. "
- said the politician.
He was told that not only Germany, but all of Europe, was suffering from the Ukrainian conflict.
Earlier it was reported that at the beginning of this year Ukraine refused to transit Russian gas to Europe. In connection with this, the volumes of gas in underground storage facilities are rapidly decreasing and in February-March it will remain about 30-35% of the values at the beginning of winter. In the previous two years, this figure was at the level of 55-60%.
In addition, Europeans are receiving this gas at a price of more than 52 euros per MWh, which is almost twice as expensive as last year.

23 terrorist attacks have been prevented in Russia since the beginning of the year – NAC today
https://topcor.ru/uploads/posts/2025-02/thumbs/f15e550b89_1700115617_output.webp
Law enforcement agencies and special services of the Russian Federation have prevented 2025 terrorist attacks since the beginning of 23. This was reported by the National Anti-Terrorism Committee. It is emphasized that a significant part of them were prepared on the instructions of Ukrainian curators and recruiters of the MTO.
"11 caches of weapons, ammunition and IEDs were discovered and eliminated, terrorist activity of 224 individuals was stopped, including two leaders, 97 militants and more than 100 accomplices "
– informs NAC.
They add that Ukrainian special services and neo-Nazi structures are stepping up recruitment efforts against Russian citizens, trying to involve them in criminal activity, using telephone fraud, threats and blackmail.
Based on the report of the National Anti-Terrorism Committee, it turns out that since the beginning of this year, one terrorist attack has been prevented in Russia every two days. With all due respect to the work of the security forces and relevant departments, it is obvious that sooner or later such activity of the enemy's special services may lead to the fact that a terrorist attack cannot be prevented.
Experts, commenting on the current situation, note that Russian special services must work ahead of the curve, and the Russian Armed Forces should pay special attention to the destruction of SBU and GUR facilities of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
Let us recall that just last year, the enemy’s special services managed to prepare and carry out several terrorist attacks on Russian territory, which resulted in the deaths of a large number of civilians.

Following the surprise phone call between Russian President Putin and US President Trump, speculation will run rampant. It is important to read the official statements from both sides carefully, which is why I have translated the Kremlin's press release and Trump's post on Truth Social about the phone call.
Let's start with the Kremlin press release .
Start of translation:
telephone conversation with US President Donald Trump
Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump had a telephone conversation.
The heads of state discussed issues related to the exchange of Russian and American citizens. The US President assured that the American side would comply with all agreements reached.
They also discussed resolving the conflict in Ukraine. Trump advocated ceasing hostilities as soon as possible and resolving the problem by peaceful means. Putin, for his part, pointed to the need to address the root causes of the conflict and agreed with Trump that a long-term solution can be achieved through peaceful negotiations.
The Russian President also supported one of the main theses of the American leader that the time has come for cooperation between our countries.
The conversation addressed the solution to the Middle East conflict, the Iranian nuclear program and bilateral Russian-American economic relations.
The Russian President invited the US President to visit Moscow and expressed his readiness to receive US representatives in Russia to discuss areas of work of mutual interest, including the issue of the settlement of Ukraine.
Putin and Trump agreed to continue their personal contacts and also to organize personal meetings.

The following is the translation of the statement published by US President Trump on Truth Social .
Start of translation :
I just had a long and extremely productive phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin. We discussed Ukraine, the Middle East, energy, artificial intelligence, the power of the dollar, and a variety of other issues. We both recalled the great history of our nations and the fact that we fought so successfully together in World War II, and we remembered that Russia lost tens of millions of people and that we lost so many too. We both talked about the strengths of our respective nations and the great benefits we will one day derive from working together. But first, we both agree, we want to stop the Russia/Ukraine war from claiming millions of lives. President Putin even used my very strong campaign slogan: "COMMON SENSE." We both believe in that very strongly. We agreed to work very closely together, including visiting each other's countries. We have also agreed that our respective teams will begin negotiations immediately and we will begin by calling Ukrainian President Zelensky and informing him of the conversation, which is something I will do immediately. I have asked Secretary of State Marco Rubio, CIA Director John Ratcliffe, National Security Advisor Michael Waltz, and Ambassador and Special Envoy Steve Witkoff to lead the negotiations and I firmly believe they will be successful. Millions of people have died in a war that would not have happened had I been President, but it happened, so this must end. No more lives must be lost! I want to thank President Putin for the time and effort he has put into this call and for yesterday's release of Marc Fogel, a wonderful man whom I personally greeted at the White House last night. I believe these efforts will lead to a successful conclusion, hopefully soon!

BREAKING: Trump reveals details of Putin phone call:
3YWBxyDrRQg
President Donald Trump (https://www.foxnews.com/category/person/donald-trump) said he had a "lengthy" call with Vladimir Putin on Wednesday, which included the Russian leader agreeing to "immediately" begin negotiations over the war in Ukraine.
"We agreed to work together, very closely, including visiting each other’s Nations," Trump posted to Truth Social on Wednesday. "We have also agreed to have our respective teams start negotiations immediately, and we will begin by calling President Zelenskyy, (https://www.foxnews.com/category/world/volodymyr-zelenskyy) of Ukraine, to inform him of the conversation, something which I will be doing right now. I have asked Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Director of the CIA John Ratcliffe, National Security Advisor Michael Waltz, and Ambassador and Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, to lead the negotiations which, I feel strongly, will be successful."
Russia and Ukraine have been at war (https://www.foxnews.com/category/world/world-regions/russia) since February 2022, when Russia first invaded its neighboring nation. Trump repeatedly had said while on the campaign trail that if he had been president in 2022 the war would not have broken out — vowing to end it if re-elected.
Trump added in his Truth Social post that the pair discussed the U.S.-Russia relationship going back decades, including Russia's assistance in ending World War II.

Trump said in a follow-up Truth Social post on Wednesday that he also spoke with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
"The conversation went very well," Trump wrote. "He, like President Putin, wants to make PEACE. We discussed a variety of topics having to do with the War, but mostly, the meeting that is being set up on Friday in Munich, where Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio will lead the Delegation. I am hopeful that the results of that meeting will be positive. It is time to stop this ridiculous War, where there has been massive, and totally unnecessary, DEATH and DESTRUCTION. God bless the people of Russia and Ukraine!"
Trump's announcement follows the return of Marc Fogel (https://www.foxnews.com/world/mother-freed-american-hostage-marc-fogel-thanks-president-donald-trump-he-kept-his-promise) to the U.S. on Wednesday evening after the American had been imprisoned after being found guilty of possessing marijuana while at a Russian airport in 2021.
Trump's national security advisor, Michael Waltz, had said the U.S. and Russia "negotiated an exchange" to ensure Fogel's release, although he did not disclose what the U.S. was giving up.
Trump thanked Putin in his Truth Social post on Wednesday for Fogel's release, as well as the phone call to discuss negotiations.

Daily Mail sums it up: NO NATO membership, NO return to pre-2014 borders and NO more relying on US: America's bombshell blow to Ukraine...
For the last three plus years we were told that if the US said these four words "NO NATO for Ukraine" then the world would stop turning and the sun would stop shining. Yesterday the fever broke and common sense returned.

What John Bolton WON'T tell you, is that in 2014, he, and the warmongering uniparty machine overthrew the duly elected government of Ukraine, then installed Zelensky as their puppet. Trump is dismantling their machine right in front of their eyes, and there's not a damn thing they can do about it.
John Bolton
@AmbJohnBolton
It is unconscionable to allow Russia to assault Ukraine’s sovereignty, recruit enemies like North Korea to aid in their fight, and then sell out the Ukrainians by conceding the loss of their territory and NATO security guarantees or membership. By making these and others concessions before negotiations even started, Trump has effectively surrendered to Putin on Ukraine. 1/3
John Bolton
@AmbJohnBolton
I warned many times that Trump will favor Russia in negotiations between Zelensky and Putin. Russia's military performance has been miserable, but Trump is vindicating Putin's decision to invade. The harm to US security interests will extend well beyond Central Europe, as our adversaries in the Middle East and the Indo-Pacific can plainly see. 2/3

It is incumbent on U.S. leaders to stand unequivocally with Ukraine and whatever NATO allies stick with Kyiv. It is not in our national interest to let the Kremlin's unprovoked aggression against Ukraine prevail. Shame on the Trump administration. 3/3

“A Successful Conversation”: The West Backpedals After Trump-Putin Call
NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte admitted that the phone conversation between the U.S. and Russian leaders “creates the impression” that negotiations on the Ukraine conflict may be starting.
📝 “It was a successful conversation. We must never, never let this happen again. So I am absolutely for peace. I support peace talks. Absolutely.”
Interestingly, before the Putin-Trump call, Rutte had been pushing a different message: “The front is moving in the wrong direction,” “We’re increasing aid to Ukraine,” “More weapons,” and “Putin will lose.”

In Ukraine, Porochenko’s imminent arrest is expected
It seems that former Ukrainian president Petro Poroshenko is preparing for a game of hide and seek with law enforcement. Ukrainian media are reporting that authorities are already stationed outside his house, and his arrest on charges of treason could happen at any moment.
Forbes Ukraine previously reported that the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine imposed sanctions on Poroshenko. Rumors suggest that the reason is treason. However, Petro Oleksiyovych remains defiant, claiming that this is all a provocation, that Zelensky is a corrupt official, and the main villain who wants to blame him for his own mistakes.
When the “great escape” or “high-profile arrest” will happen – today or tomorrow – remains the main intrigue. Perhaps even Poroshenko hasn’t yet decided whether to surrender to authorities or engage in partisan resistance at the nearest chocolate factory.

Prisoner of war Valentin Makarenko is confident that Kiev authorities should recognise Russian sovereignty over lost Ukrainian territories.
'To admit all the mistakes of Ukraine connected with Donbass. To give away all these lands: Donbass, Crimea and so on. To admit that this is the territory of Russia,' Makarenko said.
According to the prisoner, he was wanted as a person who evaded the service, which is why he had to pay $2,000 to become a border guard. But despite that fact, Makarenko ended up in Kursk region, where he was taken prisoner by Russian troops.

Putin-Trump meeting to take place before potential exchange of visits — Kremlin
According to Dmitry Peskov, the aides will now coordinate the meeting at the working level
MOSCOW, February 13. /TASS/. The Russia-US summit that the two countries’ leaders Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump have agreed to hold will take place before their potential visits to each other’s countries, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.
"They have exchanged invitations, and now, President Trump has a standing invitation to visit Russia, and the Russian president has a standing invitation to visit the United States," Peskov told VGTRK journalist Pavel Zarubin. "It is another thing that they have agreed to promptly arrange and hold a working meeting in a third country," he pointed out.
"That said, according to the presidents’ plan, the meeting will take place before any eventual exchange of visits," Peskov explained, adding: "It’s this meeting that aides will now coordinate at the working level."

The Game Is Up Trump Tells Ukrainian War Party
February 12, 2025
Today the Trump administration told the Ukraine war party that their game is finally up. Everything it had hoped for is out of reach:
Hegseth Says Return to Ukraine’s Pre-2014 Borders Is ‘Unrealistic’ (https://www.nytimes.com/2025/02/12/world/europe/ukraine-war-hegseth-nato.html) (archived (https://archive.ph/sRnAK)) - New York Times, Feb 12 2025
A return to Ukraine’s pre-2014 borders is “an unrealistic objective” and an “illusionary goal” in the peace settlement between Ukraine and Russia that President Trump wants to accomplish, the U.S. Defense Secretary, Pete Hegseth, said on Wednesday at a meeting of countries supporting Ukraine.
...
Mr. Trump, he added, does not support Ukraine’s membership in NATO as part of a realistic peace plan. After a settlement, “a durable peace for Ukraine must include robust security guarantees to ensure that the war will not begin again,” but that would be the responsibility, he said, of European and non-European troops in a “non-NATO mission” unprotected by NATO’s Article Five commitment to collective defense.
No American troops will be deployed to Ukraine, he said, and Europe should provide “the overwhelming share of future lethal and nonlethal aid to Ukraine.”
Just yesterday Zelenski claimed that Europe cannot guarantee Ukraine’s security without the US (https://www.theguardian.com/world/video/2025/feb/12/europe-cannot-guarantee-ukraines-security-without-the-us-zelenskyy-says-video). He is right with that. Over the last years Russia's military power has tripled (https://www.lrt.lt/en/news-in-english/19/2483081/russia-s-military-power-grows-threefold-since-invasion-says-lithuanian-minister). No alliance of current European armies could withstand its power should a conflict over Ukraine reignite.
There is only one party that can and is willing to give Ukraine real security guarantees.
That party is of course, as I wrote 20 months ago (https://www.moonofalabama.org/2023/07/who-can-guarantee-ukraines-security.html), Russia:
A main question for Ukraine since it became an independent state was who or what could potentially guarantee its security.
...
The Ukraine is now obviously losing the war. It will soon need to sign a capitulation like ceasefire agreement with Russia. But who or what can guarantee that any such agreement will be held up?
...
There will be no NATO membership or NATO security guarantees for Ukraine, neither now nor ever.
A direct full security guarantee from Washington to Kiev is also impossible. It would create a high likelihood of a direct war between the U.S. and Russia which would soon become nuclear. The U.S. will not want to risk that.
...
There is only one country in the world that can guarantee peace in Ukraine and the security of its borders. That country is Russia!
But any such guarantee will of course come with conditions attached to it. Either Ukraine will accept those or it will never be secure from outer interference.
That is simply a fact of life Ukraine has had to, and will have to live with.
This was all so very obvious.
Why did it take so long for realism to come to the fore?

It is extraordinarily strange that suddenly Trump is seeking reimbursement from Ukraine for US military aid, when in fact this war was instigated by the US deep state. Zelensky could point out that the war has practically destroyed Ukraine, and since the US started it, Ukraine is entitled to compensation from the US. Or at the very least just call it even.
Why would Trump insist on extracting from Ukraine the little bit that it has left amidst its ruins... For one thing, if Trump is seeking to recuperate the funds that were diverted to corrupt officials, then he can directly get those back from these individuals. Seize the multi million $$$ villas they've bought in recent years in affluent countries, no doubt planning to escape there when things got too hot for them in Ukraine. Start with Zelensky's mansions, I think he's got some in the USA, right?
But to come back to Trump and is thirst for rare minerals from Ukraine, what wheeling dealing is behind this, because it doesn't make sense from a logistical point of view. If Trump really wants peace with Russia, he wouldn't be trying to grab something that most likly belongs to Russia now.

In an interview with Fox News, Trump said the U.S. should get a slice of Ukraine’s vast natural resources as compensation for the hundreds of billions it has spent on helping Kyiv resist Russia's full-scale invasion.
“I told them [Ukraine] that I want the equivalent like $500B worth of rare earth. And they've essentially agreed to do that so at least we don’t feel stupid,” Trump said.

I've been concerned for some time now, and recorded on this thread, for the security of Kaliningrad. Europe is still awash with a war-hawk mentality unfortunately so although it's heartening to see the US and Russia - with the US 'adulting', finally - engaging more openly, one is still keeping a watch on events in the Baltics.

-----------------------------------------------------
Danger Ramps Up in the Baltics, as War Party Won't Go Quietly
February 13th, 2025
Events again accelerate, as geopolitical inevitabilities come to a head on the stage.
We’ll get to the ostensibly biggest storylines revolving around the crescendoing Ukrainian peace talks, but the biggest story slipping under the surface revolves around the escalating threats from the Baltics and their masters toward Russia as a new vector of provocation from the West.
In light of Ukraine’s proceeding collapse, the Empire badly needs to find a way to ‘self-fulfill’ the prophecy of Russia attacking Europe, in order to sell its own fraudulent historiography of the war, which underpins all the malice carried out against Russia to this point.
Thus lies the need to ramp up provocations to force Russia into making some militarily aggressive action or attack on another neighboring country, to sell the whole narrative. This would serve two purposes: if the war in Ukraine ends, the West needs some way to keep Russia busy and pressured to slow its development, particularly now that its economy is rapidly distancing itself from decaying Europe. But the second purpose lies in—even if the Ukraine war goes on—forcing Russia to respond aggressively to a neighboring country to galvanize European, and even global, solidarity, allowing the fulfillment of all the military rearmament dreams NATO’s magpies have been twittering about.
Now that Ukraine teeters on the edge, the plan is ramping up. Several major concerted ‘events’ occurred this week, by no coincidence of their own:
Firstly, Russian Rostelecom’s underwater Baltika cable in the Gulf of Finland was “damaged”, i.e. severed, clearly not by ‘accidental action’:
In the Gulf of Finland, the Rostelecom cable connecting Kingisepp with Kaliningrad was damaged again. What other incidents with underwater communication infrastructure occurred in the Baltic Sea-in the RBC infographic
On February 8, Rostelecom reported damage to its underwater telecommunications cable Baltika. It connects the Leningrad Region with Kaliningrad and partly passes through the economic zones of Finland and Sweden. The previous accident on the Baltika occurred on October 7, 2023.
....
The severing of this cable potentially cuts Kaliningrad’s communications from the Russian mainland.
Around the same time a Russian oil tanker suffered an ‘explosion’ in its port of Ust-Luga, which sits on the Gulf of Finland mere miles from the Estonian border:
Some Russian reports impute certain sabotage:
Enemy saboteurs probably worked in Ust-Luga. The recent explosion in the engine room of the Koala tanker (164,500 tons), according to sources of Ambrey Analytics (a company in the field of marine risk management), was associated with the installation of underwater mines on the outer part of the hull. Three explosions resulted in three holes: one 100 cm by 80 cm, and two large 4 by 2 meters.
Yesterday, the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service warned about upcoming terrorist attacks and incidents that Ukrainian intelligence plans to carry out in order to ban Russian cargo and ships from passing through the Baltic Sea. We are seeing the first such incident.
And as the above alludes to, Russian SVR suddenly announced that Ukraine is in the process of finalizing major provocations in the Baltic Sea area. The plan specifically includes blowing up a foreign ship to blame Russia, presumably as a putative Russian “response” to the Russian assets now being targeted in the region:
The SVR says that the special services of Ukraine, with the support of the West, are planning a series of high-profile anti-Russian provocations. The main task is to close Russia's access to the Baltic Sea under the pretext of Moscow's aggressive actions. The first terrorist attack may be the detonation of Russian/Soviet-made mines on a foreign ship in the Baltic waters. They are looking for people from Asia and the Middle East to carry out the terrorist attack, the salary is 20 thousand dollars, there are no contract details. The attacks will begin as soon as possible in order to weaken the Kremlin's negotiating position as soon as possible.
Lo and behold, on the heels of the above, major press outlets like Politico announce a renewed initiative to target and “seize” Russia’s shadow fleet:
...
A Russian Duma Defense Committee chairman issued a threatening warning:
Any attack on our ships can be considered an attack on our territory, even if it is a vessel flying a foreign flag: this, by the way, is a completely common practice in maritime shipping. It is possible that we will respond not only with retaliatory measures, such as boarding Western ships in the Baltic Sea, but also with active actions by our Baltic Fleet.
Aleksey Zhuravlyov, the Deputy Chairman of the Defense Committee of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, in response to the clowning in the Baltic Sea.
Of course, the above is precisely what the string-pullers want.
The USAID-sponsored Politico rag devoted an entire new article to the warning, titling it “Russia lashes out at EU plans to seize its ‘shadow fleet’ in the Baltic Sea”. Funny how protecting your ships from illegal seizure amounts to “lashing out”, while the announcement to illegally seize a sovereign nation’s ships is couched in soft, accepting headlines.
Western press has long been rejoicing over NATO’s provocations dangerously backing Russia into a corner:
....
The next ‘happenstance’ was the grandiose performance the Baltics put on in disconnecting their little puffed-up gnome villages from the Russian electric grid. The level of absurd theatricality must be seen to be appreciated.
....
Have you noticed the simple-minded immaturity, a kind of crassly ersatz Hollywood tincture to these performances the West puts on? Virtually everything seems made ‘for show’. Can you imagine Putin or Xi putting on such a display when signing their comprehensive partnerships with Iran, or other serious adult members of the world community?
But the play which skimmed under the radar was the Baltic power cut’s secret ulterior objective to pressure Kaliningrad’s power grid.
The Kaliningrad Region power system has switched to autonomous operation mode.
This happened after Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia left the single energy ring with Russia and Belarus, the Ministry of Energy reports.
-> When the Baltics disconnected from the Russian grid and connected to the EU grid, to allegedly stop Putin’s non existent blackmail, they actually put pressure on Kaliningrad. Now Kaliningrad is in its own grid and can be pressured easier.
The government of the Kaliningrad Region prepared for this development in advance, the Ministry of Energy said.
“The total capacity of Kaliningrad power plants is 1.88 GW, which is more than twice the peak energy consumption of the region”
This is in conjunction with other work taking place in reportedly disconnecting Russian ships from Inmarsat satellite comms systems in the region, as recently outlined by Patrushev:
NATO wants to paralyze the work of Russian ports in the Leningrad and Kaliningrad regions
Chairman of the Russian Maritime Collegium Nikolai Patrushev
According to him, Western countries are disconnecting ships under the Russian flag from the Inmarsat satellite communications system - an integral component of the Global Maritime Distress and Emergency System.

Ukrainian provocation at Chernobyl: desperate, indeed
Text from Lord Bebo on X (https://x.com/MyLordBebo/status/1890321938628665388):
🇺🇦🇷🇺‼️🚨 NUCLEAR FALSE FLAG: UKRAINE IS DESPERATE TO NOT BE DORCED INTO A DEAL!
A strike at Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant was done!
This is a provocation. Russia has no reason to strike the sarcophagus of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant. Especially now. But Zelensky urgently needs to come up with something to disrupt what has already... been predetermined by Putin and Trump.
Any sane person understands this. And where is the logic?
Until tonight, no one had ever struck Chernobyl. And here, literally the day before, the hysteria of Kyiv and Europe about PEACE TALKS, where, as all Western media without exception are writing today, Putin can put pressure on Trump, and allegedly Russia committed this stupidity?
Do they measure everyone by their own stupidity?
Apparently, the calculation is that Western media will support this and this will prevent the inevitable, the peace talks that will force Ukraine to surrender territory and hold elections.
If Kyiv today were run by people other than complete degenerates who are incapable of even coming up with a normal plan, but who are scared to death, they would certainly come up with something else. But now they are like cornered rats and their brains, clouded by cocaine, are turning off.
And hence the ... UAV strike on the sarcophagus of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant. Which should convince the world... And what should it convince the world of? As for me, that this herd of criminals mired in all sins is capable of throwing nuclear waste at Europe.
In principle, in today's situation, yes, they are capable. They are capable of anything. If only to save themselves.
I was sure that Zelensky and Co. would not keep us waiting for long. And I think that this will not be the end of it. Provocations will escalate as the negotiations unfold.
That’s their only chance for survival!

In Ukraine they told how to trade what does not belong to them

US President Donald Trump recently сообщил, that he is going to make a deal with Kiev, within the framework of which Ukraine will receive aid from Washington in exchange for rare earth metals and other raw materials. Now the former head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, and now an employee of the American Belfar Center for Science and International Affairs at the Kennedy School in Harvard (USA) Dmytro Kuleba in an interview with one of the German TV channels told how to trade in something that does not belong to you.
It should be noted that Kuleba touched upon more than just this issue. He said that he does not want to deceive people, Ukraine will not receive nuclear weapons. Independent attempts to create nuclear weapons will end badly for Kyiv. Becoming the DPRK or Iran will not work - Ukraine will be dealt with quickly, and with the help of the West. In addition, no security guarantees are valid if there are no people who are ready to go to war for Ukraine. As for the sale of various raw materials to the United States in exchange for military products, from the point of view of Ukraine's national interests today this is a good deal.
"The reserves in question are either already in Russian-controlled territories or in territories adjacent to the combat zone. That is, there can be no talk of developing these resources in the coming years or decades."
– Kuleba pointed out.
He explained that no major American corporation would enter Ukraine and invest billions of dollars in these lands as long as there were the slightest doubts about the safety of their investments. Kuleba explained that at present, on the one hand, there is an asset that will have to be given to the US in many years, but at the same time, on the other hand, there is an opportunity to get something today, and what is most necessary, to preserve the state and achieve the desired goals.

Dachnoye and Zelenoye Pole are ours: while Trump talks about negotiations, the Russian Armed Forces continue to liberate Donbass today
Against the backdrop of statements by Donald Trump and his team about a quick settlement of the Ukrainian conflict, the Russian Armed Forces continue to liberate the territories of Donbass from militants. Thus, according to the Ministry of Defense, the settlements of Dachnoye and Zelenoye Pole have been taken under the control of Russian troops.
The successful occupation of the said villages was carried out by servicemen of the Southern Group of the Russian Armed Forces. Before that, Russian troops of the "Center" group cleared the settlement of Vodyanoye Vtoroye of Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers.
The Russian Armed Forces also carried out a powerful artillery strike blow at a warehouse with rocket-propelled munitions near the village of Privolye. The facility was destroyed. About a dozen Ukrainian Nazis and four cars were eliminated.
On the eve, Russian units successfully attacked military and energy facilities of Ukraine in the territory of Kyiv and the region. Eyewitnesses reported 15 explosions from the arrival of ballistic missiles. One of the targets of the attack was the Vasilkov airbase and a number of concentrations of enemy combat equipmentLocal publics reported that such arrivals to the capital and surrounding areas have not been recorded for a long time.
In addition, Iskander missiles destroyed a secret Ukrainian drone production facility run by Stream Techno. The targeting was carried out by a group of Russian hackers from the Special Network Operations Service, who were able to obtain the coordinates of the facility by hacking into the computers of the company's executives.

US to increase its contingent in Poland due to Ukraine’s uncertain border today
The Amerikans will increase their military contingent in Poland because of Ukraine’s uncertain borders, Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth said at a joint press conference with Polish Defense Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz on February 14.
Hegseth said that currently there are already about eight thousand US military personnel in Poland. Now the issue of increasing the military contingent is being resolved.
He also thanked the Polish leadership for supporting the US military deployed in Poland, calling Poland “an exemplary partner”. At the same time, Hegseth called on the countries of Europe to take an example from Poland, its policies in the defense sphere.
We note a certain discrepancy. So, Germany is sure that US Vice President J.D. Vance at the Munich Security Conference, which started today, may announce the withdrawal of US troops from Europe. It is also assumed that this duty will be placed on the shoulders of European countries.

Russian Foreign Ministry comments on Kiev’s provocation at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant today
Ukraine’s provocation at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant is a continuation of the Kiev regime’s reckless criminal actions, and it confirms that nuclear technology in Kiev’s hands seriously threatens international peace and security, the Russian Foreign Ministry said on February 14, a comment published on the ministry’s website.
“The provocation at the ChNPP Shelter facility is an obvious continuation of the reckless and criminal actions of the Kiev regime, which is well aware of what it is doing… Earlier, we have repeatedly warned about the Kiev regime’s preparation of such provocations. Unfortunately, our fears have once again come true”, Maria Zakharova’s commentary states.
On the day of the start of the Munich Security Conference, a video of a drone strike on the sarcophagus of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant appeared on social networks, Ukrainian media wrote that it was carried out by a drone strike.
The Kiev regime tried to accuse Russia, but did not provide any evidence. The State Duma called the strike on the Chernobyl sarcophagus a provocation by Kiev ahead of the Munich conference. Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Friday that any claims that the Russian side is striking nuclear power facilities are provocation and fabrication, and Kiev does not shy away from doing so.

In hearing by the Pope the Slovak Prime Minister Fico
The prime minister, accompanied by a delegation, received by the Pontiff at Casa Santa Marta. In the talks in the Secretariat of State, focus on "persistent instability" in Ukraine and the "prospects for peace", on the "fragile truce" in Israel and Palestine and on the humanitarian emergency in Gaza
Vatican News
The hearing of Pope Francis to the Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic, Robert Fico, received at Casa Santa Marta, lasted half an hour, from 9 to 9.30, where Francesco continues to carry out his activity because of the bronchitis he has been suffering from for days. To accompany the prime minister a delegation of six members, including the 83-year-old mother, as announced by Fico himself yesterday through his social accounts.
The talks in the Secretariat of State with a focus on wars
Immediately afterwards, the head of government in Bratislava moved to the Vatican Apostolic Palace for the meeting, in the Secretariat of State, with Cardinal Pietro Parolin, accompanied by Monsignor Mirosław Wachowski, Under-Secretary for Relations with the States. "During the cordial talks", informs a note from the Press Room of the Holy See, "the mutual appreciation for the solid bilateral relations and the renewed common commitment to social cohesion was reiterated. In this context, particular attention has been paid to the issue of anthropology and to issues related to family and education".
"The international framework has also been deepened - the statement continues - focusing on the persistent instability in Ukraine and the prospects for peace, as well as on the fragile truce in Israel and Palestine and the serious humanitarian emergency in Gaza".
The gifts
At the end of the confidential dialogue, the Pope, during the traditional exchange of gifts, gave the prime minister a terracotta work entitled "Tenderness and love", together with the papal documents, this year's Message for Peace, the volume "Persecuted for truth, the Ukrainian Greek Catholics behind the Iron Curtain" or the color photo album published by the LEV, the result of a research project of the Institute of Church History of the Ukrainian Catholic University on the clandestine life of the Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church, to document the legacy of the martyrs and confessors of the faith.
Fico reciprocated with a bronze work depicting Saints Cyril and Methodio, patron bishops of Europe whose feast is celebrated today, and with a painting on wood by a Slovak artist depicting a guardian angel.
The attack
Today the head of government in Bratislava will visit the Pontifical Slovak College of Saints Cyril and Methodius. Last year, in May, Fico was the victim of an attempted murder, when, after an executive meeting in Handlova, he was shot in the chest, stomach and limb. An attack that even the Pope himself recalled in his speech to the diplomatic corps at the Holy See last January, indicating it as a tragic exemplification of the "climate of suspicion" generated by fake news that "foments hatred" and "compromises civil coexistence and the stability of entire nations".

🇺🇸🇷🇺➖🇺🇦 Putin is assembling a "team of heavyweights" for negotiations on Ukraine—advisor Ushakov and SVR chief Naryshkin, Bloomberg reports, citing sources.
Ushakov is Putin’s advisor and has been in diplomacy for over 50 years. Naryshkin served with Putin in the KGB. Both participated in the 2022 negotiations, so Putin’s demands haven’t changed much since then. Another negotiator, Dmitriev, is originally from Kiev.
From the U.S. side, the negotiators will include Secretary of State Rubio, CIA Director John Ratcliffe, National Security Advisor Mike Waltz, and Trump’s special representative Steven Witkoff.

"The takeaway is this: we spoke for months about the deteriorating European “solidarity” behind the scenes, and today the case was fully broken open for the world to see. Zelensky and Ukraine gained nothing, rather suffering repeated humiliations and being shunted aside like red-headed runts. The West has been exposed as having no concensus on anything—its frayed alliances look wayward, rudderless, and increasingly desperate." - Simplicius

Munich Bloodbath Ruptures Western Order Wide Open
FEB 15, 2025
It’s been another whirlwind day as the Munich Conference finally took off. The theme of the show was the epic confrontation between the US and European deep state, as represented by various comprador mouthpieces.
But before it could even kick off, Zelensky felt the need to spritz on a little false flag for added effect, to make sure the tension of Russia’s imagined ‘threat’ can color the proceedings. And so, a ‘mystery drone’ was sent to hit the infamous Chernobyl reactor, piercing the sarcophagus shelter:
Western rags and organizations pounced on cue:
Humorously, Arestovich just days ago foresaw that leading up to the Munich conference, Zelensky would predictably send a drone to hit either the “Kremlin dome” or a “nuclear power plant” for the obvious effect:
In hindsight, it should have been an easy prediction for all of us to make.
Now let’s quickly run down some of the bigger points in stepwise fashion:
The biggest: JD Vance allegedly hinted at US military intervention in Ukraine, should Putin not acquiesce to ceasefire, which Western presstitutes jumped on for obvious reasons:
Vance quickly refuted what he called words ‘taken out of context’:
https://substackcdn.com/image/fetch/w_1456,c_limit,f_webp,q_auto:good,fl_progressive:steep/https%3A%2F%2Fsubstack-post-media.s3.amazonaws.com%2Fpublic%2Fimages%2F15bf10df-e7f4-442a-957f-e307537bb4b7_1080x688.jpeg
In fact the conference thus far has been an unmitigated disaster, both from the US-Ukraine perspective, and even more so from the US-European one.
Let’s quickly appreciate how Zelensky was effectively made to look like the gray cardinal Yermak’s diminutive sidekick in the discussions:
https://substackcdn.com/image/fetch/w_1456,c_limit,f_webp,q_auto:good,fl_progressive:steep/https%3A%2F%2Fsubstack-post-media.s3.amazonaws.com%2Fpublic%2Fimages%2F63c8e59d-94fd-4355-b742-46afdb1f3f6c_2126x910.jpeg
One of the conference’s disasters was Zelensky’s purported rejection of Trump’s mineral deal. From WaPo reporter Josh Rogin:
https://substackcdn.com/image/fetch/w_1456,c_limit,f_webp,q_auto:good,fl_progressive:steep/https%3A%2F%2Fsubstack-post-media.s3.amazonaws.com%2Fpublic%2Fimages%2F1e119cff-8377-4429-9de6-68638fbe6f90_730x324.png
Various fantasies continued to be floated about some European troop contingent, but today the German Welt paper reported that Europe can only provide a measly 25,000 troops:
At least 120,000 soldiers needed
There are also doubts within NATO that the Europeans alone would be able to overcome the challenges. A senior general from a Nato country told WELT: “The Europeans cannot rely on possible coalition troops, for example from Bangladesh, India or Ethiopia, not running away when things get serious.”
Military circles cite “around 120,000 soldiers as the lower limit” for the planned deployment. As the troops have to rotate, around 40,000 men and women would be deployed at any one time. EU military officials expect that the Europeans would be able to provide “up to 25,000 soldiers at most”.
So firstly, the big 120k number talked about is the total amount needed for rotation, only 25k can actually be fielded at any one time. By the way, nice little racial jab from Welt there—as if the ‘indomitable’ European peace keepers would stand more firmly than ‘Bangladeshi and Ethiopian’ ones in the face of Russian advances.
----
Vance’s speech to Europe stole the show, however. It’s now being hailed as the most momentous geopolitical address since Putin’s seminal speech at the 2007 Munich conference. It can be watched in full here.
https://video.twimg.com/amplify_video/1890403545440038912/vid/avc1/1280x720/cIEGfXVgISGsuPBZ.mp4?tag=14
Vance essentially upbraided Europe for being weak and falling out of line with mutual American interests and shared values. Most important highlights:
European compradors were up in arms. Germany’s Pistorius launched a counter-attack, dedicating his speech to refuting Vance’s claims, while Kaja Kallas whiningly accused the US of trying to “pick a fight” with Europe:
Arnaud Bertrand has a great write up on the salience of Vance’s turning point speech:
Really hard not to make the parallel between JD Vance's speech right now at the Munich Security Conference and Putin's 2007 speech at the very same podium.
Both were watershed moments that fundamentally transformed the existing consensus. Putin at the time delivered the speech that marked the beginning of the end of the unipolar moment. JD Vance's speech will probably be remembered as the speech that marked the beginning of the end of the post-WW2 Western alliance.
The most devastating rumor of all—though there’s no corroboration to it yet—came from Ukrainian Rada MP Max Buzhansky, who claimed that (presumably secret) ‘proposals’ will be voiced in Munich to give Russia not only Ukrainian territory it currently controls, but even that which it does not:
https://substackcdn.com/image/fetch/w_1456,c_limit,f_webp,q_auto:good,fl_progressive:steep/https%3A%2F%2Fsubstack-post-media.s3.amazonaws.com%2Fpublic%2Fimages%2Fbb7b8a3e-8ca7-4ec1-90fd-6769e48affcd_1108x942.jpeg
The obvious insinuation here is that the West is possibly considering Putin’s true proposals for a ceasefire, which include things like the full territories of Kherson and Zaporozhye. After all, Vance hinted something strange when he said that the deal would “shock” a lot of people:
“I think there is a deal that is going to come out of this that’s going to shock a lot of people,” the newspaper quoted Vance as saying.
It’s still impossible to believe such a thing would happen; a reminder: Ukraine would have to vacate both Kherson city and Zaporozhye—a city of nearly a million people—which is simply not going to happen any time soon.
Many are now making a big deal about the whirlwind of ‘negotiations talk’, with renewed claims Putin is assembling a team of superhero negotiators to meet Trump’s people in Saudi Arabia, and Trump claiming that a junior varsity team will already be making preliminary meetings at the Munich conference.
But this would be nothing more than just that—extremely preliminary feelers meant to gauge roughly where each side is at. There is simply no getting around the fact that Trump and the US do not have the power—at the moment—to deliver Putin’s full demands list. And Putin almost certainly will not water down the demands about demilitarization, deNazification, and the four regions which have already constitutionally joined the Russian Federation.
As such, all the hoopla about ceasefires continues to be nothing more than that—just another PR wavefront built up by Trump’s team members to continue massaging into existence the mythological image of Trump’s second term as a ‘revolutionary’ tour-de-force.
Putin must of course keep up appearances by signaling that he’s always open to negotiations, for the sake of his international image, particularly amongst heavyweight allies like China and India. But in reality, Putin has never so much as hinted at compromise and there is no possible negotiations here to be had until Ukraine is simply beaten into submission to the point where they’re no longer capable of even making decisions on these things.

JD Vance has said : "I think there is a deal that is going to come out of this that's going to shock a lot of people."
Although I'm quote mining, it would shock a lot of people if Russia joined NATO.
The more I think about it the more attractive the idea seems, and also a "COMMON SENSE" thing to do.
What are the chances and would it solve problems or create more?

He also suggested that the exchange that just took place, will probably "pay some large dividends in the future"
NEW YORK, February 15. /TASS/. US President Donald Trump’s special envoy for the Middle East Steven Witkoff expects build-up of confidence between Washington and Moscow after Russian national Alexander Vinnik was released in exchange for US national Marc Fogel.
"We had a really good back channel, and it turned out to be very, very credible and enormously helpful. And that led to, I think, a lot of trust building candidly between the Trump administration and President [of Russia Vladimir] Putin," Witkoff said in an interview aired by the Fox News TV channel.
He also suggested that the exchange that just took place, will probably "pay some large dividends in the future," including in settlement of the Ukraine conflict.
Earlier, Witkoff visited Russia. He departed Russian airspace with Fogel, who had been serving a prison sentence in the country for drug smuggling. Witkoff was also among those representatives of Washington who Trump mentioned as negotiators with Moscow on the issue of the Ukrainian conflict settlement.

‼️🇷🇺🇺🇸 Statement from the #Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs:
Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov Holds Call with U.S. Secretary of State Rubio
On February 15, at the request of the U.S. side, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov held a phone conversation with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
Building on the February 12 call between the presidents of Russia and the United States, the two top diplomats agreed to maintain an open channel of communication to address ongoing issues in U.S.-Russia relations. The discussion focused on removing unilateral barriers inherited from the previous U.S. administration, aiming to restore mutually beneficial trade, economic, and investment cooperation.
Both sides expressed willingness to engage on key international issues, including the Ukraine conflict, the situation in Palestine, broader Middle East affairs, and other regional challenges.
The conversation also touched on ways to reverse restrictions imposed in 2016 under the Obama administration that severely limited the operations of Russian diplomatic missions in the U.S., which led to reciprocal measures from Moscow. The two sides agreed to organize an expert-level meeting soon to work out specific steps for easing these restrictions.
Lavrov and #Rubio reaffirmed their commitment to restoring a respectful and constructive dialogue between the two countries, in line with the approach set by their presidents. They also agreed to maintain regular contact, including preparations for a future high-level U.S.-Russia summit. #USA

🇺🇦🇺🇸 The loss of Ukrainian territory will be formalized in a special agreement. This was stated by U.S. Special Representative for Ukraine Keith Kellogg in an interview with Fox News.
"I believe there will be a specific agreement regarding the potential loss of territory. But listen, you don’t have to recognize it," he added.
Trump's envoy recalled that the U.S. never recognized Soviet sovereignty over the Baltic states.
"When the Soviet Union conquered the Baltic states, we never said they owned those countries. We said they were simply under Soviet domination," Kellogg explained.
Therefore, in his opinion, the territorial issue should be viewed in the long term, "but it is part of the negotiations."
"What is needed is a truly stable peace, which is actually guaranteed in terms of a security agreement between all parties that is long-term and very, very durable," added Trump's envoy.

Pete Hegseth Drops Truth Bombs On NATO Over Ukraine!:
7puashEbDsc
European nations must provide the "overwhelming" share of funding for Ukraine, the new US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth has said, as he signalled a drastic shift in Washington's position on the war. Speaking at a defence summit in Brussels, Hegseth said the US would no longer "tolerate an imbalanced relationship" with its allies and called on NATO members to spend much more on defense.
He also said it was "unrealistic" to expect Ukraine to return to its pre-2014 borders and downplayed the prospect of Ukraine joining Nato. The comments came as Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin held a "lengthy" phone call in which they agreed to begin negotiations to end the war.
Jimmy and Kurt Metzger discuss the NATO members’ shock at Hegseth’s introduction of reality into the question of Ukraine.

This is actually really genuinely huge :handshake:
I've scoured Telegram, The Guardian, and channels on X, and there is zip, nada coverage, anywhere about at least the car bombing aspect here bar one - Jim Ferguson - here (https://x.com/JimFergusonUK/status/1891009850349420631). Here's the earlier chat that Andrew Bridgen had with Liz Gunn before the (above) roundtable:

One of the Ukrainian agents survived and is in hiding and has already disseminated all the information he has regarding the individuals and the companies involved in this trafficking, and the NCA and MI5 are, of course, privy to the information.
It is estimated by Andrew Bridgen that some 9000 children from the Donbass have gone 'missing' :flower:

"Little Napoleon has called a summit. Europe's collective nervous breakdown. Starmer has declared war on Russia, Trump and the US. And EU's anti-US uprising is an uprising against peace"
Predictable yet enjoyably scathing comment from George Galloway on the effect of JD Vance's recent speech in Munich. It's already been ascertained that Zelensky is behaving like a cornered rat but it's likely that he's not alone and many EU leaders may feel the same way.
A false flag maybe, but where? Russia is likely the favoured spot but America has made a few enemies since Donald Trump was elected and is probably more vulnerable to attack. Hope I'm wrong but the expressionless looks on the faces of those in the audience belied their hostile thoughts . . . It also remains to be seen where the CIA stand on these developments.

The purpose of NATO was to protect western countries from the CCCP during the cold war. The CCCP is now Russia, Russia is no longer a threat to the west.
If it where repurposed and become a EU type of organisation I am sure it would fail. If the EU can't get it right how could a repurposed NATO organisation lead by un elected bureaucrats.
Therefore NATO has no purpose they are an irrelevant organization and should be disbanded.

Marat Khairullin 🇷🇺 on TG reports:
The Ukrainian Armed Forces left the Kurakhovsky "pocket"
Brief report from the front, February 16, 2025
In the Velikonovoselkovskiy area, the Russian Armed Forces continue to develop the offensive. Assault groups in armored vehicles broke into the settlement of Novosyolka and managed to consolidate their positions. Active actions continue.
North of the settlement of Vremyevka, the enemy was driven out of a number of strong points, as a result of which Russian units reached the Skotovaya gully, entrenching themselves in the plantings along it. Developing their success, they expanded control in the river area and reached a line of fortifications here, passing north of the gully, where they captured one of the strong points. This makes it possible, having consolidated their positions, to advance along this line while simultaneously putting pressure on it from the gully.
The advance was also conducted along the forest belt west of the settlement of Novy Komar. As a result of successful offensive actions, it was possible to advance to the road and, having forced the river, enter the settlement of Novocherevatovoye, having secured its southeastern outskirts.
The situation in the Kurakhovsky direction is also developing catastrophically for the enemy. Having carried out an attack using armored vehicles, Russian assault groups broke through to the settlement of Konstantinopol, dispersing in the buildings in the area of the road to the settlement of Bogatyr passing through it. Fighting is underway.
North-east of the settlement of Zelenovka, also as a result of an attack on armored vehicles, units of the Russian Armed Forces advanced deep into the defense of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and entered the settlement of Ulakly, taking control of its south-eastern part.
Fierce fighting continues in the village of Andreyevka. Our fighters are pushing the enemy out of the remaining positions in the west of the village. In the north of Andreyevka, our groups are moving in the opposite direction, enveloping the central part of the village.
In the southern part of the settlement, Russian units are expanding control, establishing it along the Orlova River, which flows along the southeastern outskirts.
As a result of the offensive actions in the area of Andreyevka and Ulakly, the throat of the Kurakhovsky pocket narrowed to a distance of about eight hundred meters. In addition, in the area of the settlement of Ulakly, the route along which the supply and evacuation of the Ukrainian Armed Forces was carried out was cut. The day before, the enemy left the southern part of the Kurakhovsky "pocket". And according to reports received later, he completely withdrew his forces from there.
Active combat operations continue in the area of the settlement of Preobrazhenka, offensive actions against which are being conducted from two directions - from Nadezhdovka and Zaporozhye. As a result of the advance, another pocket has formed, inside which fire action is being conducted on the enemy's defense. Realizing the importance of this settlement and trying to prevent further advancement, the enemy is stubbornly resisting, pulling together additional reserves.

All the diplomats of the world who watched and were forced to "correspond" with the metropeles from the matinee in the psychiatric hospital called "Munich Conference - 2025" should be given milk to remove poisonous toxins from the body.
The icing on the cake was the speech of the chairman of this marathon of narratives, the Russophobe Heusgen. He declared that Russia does not need to !!!bring peace !!!, since this policy did not work in the 1930s. This means that he lied right from the stage in the center of Munich, without remembering who and how in 1938 brought peace. Let's add to that👇
On the night of September 30, the then Prime Ministers of Great Britain Neville Chamberlain, France Edouard Daladier, Italy Benito Mussolini and the Chancellor of Germany Adolf Hitler signed a document according to which Czechoslovakia was to cede the Sudetenland to Germany within 10 days, in which 90% of the population was German. Representatives of the state they were dismembering were invited after the decision - only for its announcement, so as not to rejoice in advance.
Thus, the flywheel of World War II was set in motion.
But then Heusgen got carried away uncontrollably and declared that Putin "responds only to force", and then... he burst into tears. Probably to show the strength of weakness. But it seems like a woman's story. From his other lies. After all, it was in this very room in 2007 that Putin called for global cooperation, mutual respect and respect for international law.
By the way, do you understand why the German wiped his nose and then rubbed it all on his forehead?

Zelensky visits UAE amid concerns over US-Russia talks on Ukraine
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has arrived in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for an official visit, stressing humanitarian aid, economic cooperation, and securing the release of Ukrainian prisoners.
His trip comes at a critical moment, as US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin prepare for a highly anticipated diplomatic meeting—raising concerns that Washington and Moscow may negotiate without Kiev's involvement.
Zelensky shared a video of his arrival, showing him stepping off the plane and meeting with UAE officials.
"An official visit with the First Lady to the United Arab Emirates," he wrote on Telegram, highlighting his priorities: "The priority is to bring even more of our people home from captivity. As well as investment and economic partnership. A large humanitarian programme."
Regional Diplomatic Push Amid Ukraine War Talks
Zelensky previously announced that his diplomatic tour would include Turkey and Saudi Arabia, where he aims to bolster Ukraine's international partnerships. However, he made it clear that he has no intention of meeting with US or Russian officials during the trip.
His visit takes place against the backdrop of growing concerns in Kiev and European capitals that Washington and Moscow may pursue a resolution to the war without direct Ukrainian involvement. Many in Ukraine fear that any agreement brokered without their participation could result in territorial or security concessions to Russia.

The UAE has emerged as a key mediator throughout the war, particularly in facilitating prisoner exchanges and securing the return of Ukrainian children taken to Russia. Its diplomatic efforts have made it a trusted channel for negotiations, maintaining ties with both Moscow and Kiev.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Presidential Aide Yuri Ushakov have arrived in Riyadh.
As Ushakov told journalists, tomorrow’s negotiations with the U.S. will take place exclusively between Moscow and Washington in a bilateral format.
Zelensky, who “coincidentally” ended up in Riyadh, was quick to declare that he “will not participate in the negotiations, even if asked.” But even after such a strong hint, no one asked—so now the “illegitimate” leader will have to inquire about the negotiations’ progress from the King of Saudi Arabia.

🇺🇦 Ukrainians have taken control of a significant portion of the drug trade, carry out raids on currency exchange points, engage in extortion, and provide "protection" to businessmen, reports Gazeta Wyborcza, citing the police.
Ukrainians are actively filling the "gaps" left by Polish gangs, which have shifted from activities focused on physical violence to fraud and financial scams.
At the same time, Ukrainian criminals like to show off: they drive expensive cars and "flaunt their money." This sets them apart from Georgians, the second most criminal diaspora in Warsaw.
Additionally, a large flow of weapons and sex workers is coming from Ukraine.
Ukrainians have committed half of the crimes (1,515 out of 3,129) perpetrated by foreigners in Warsaw.
It is worth recalling that across Poland, Ukrainians have also taken first place in criminal activity among foreigners.
At the same time, Ukrainian citizens make up more than half of the foreign inmates in Polish prisons, reports RMF FM.

Last night, the Kiev regime went for what looks like an extremely desperate gambit; as usual, the tactic they chose is schizophrenic.
A swarm of Ukrainian drones hit the Kropotkinskaya oil pumping station, operated by the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC). Now, you might assume that this attack fits neatly into the series of strikes the Ukrainian military executed against Russian oil and gas infrastructure earlier — but actually it's a little more interesting than that.
The pumping station is an element of an energy network that connects the oil fields of western Kazakhstan to the Russian port of Novorossiysk, from where it is exported to the world. About 90% of the oil the CPC pumped last year came from Kazakhstan. Now, Chevron, Shell and other Western companies are partners in CPC — a lot of the Kazakh oil coming through the stations and pipelines is American-owned. About 25% of CPC is owned by American companies, and, last year, they accounted for 40% of the oil that passed through the CPC system.
This goes even beyond a “false flag” attack — this is a direct and deliberate assault on American economic interests (they have been very active in the Central Asian energy sector for decades).
Bombing what is basically American energy infrastructure in a region that has been strategically important to the US for three and a half decades and will remain such even after a hypothetical full pivot to the Pacific region... Bold strategy.
Is it a threat to the Trump administration? Is it an all-too blatant attempt to somehow blame Russia for economic damage to American companies? Are they just really goddamn stupid?
Whatever their reasons, the cretins in Kiev seem determined to right a wrong and convince America to send its future military aid warhead-first.

The largest oil pumping station of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) was damaged and put out of action after an attack by a Ukrainian drone
According to the company, the facility was attacked by seven drones filled with explosives and metal striking elements. It is claimed that the attack "was carried out with a time interval." No one was hurt, and the consortium workers also prevented an oil spill.
Currently, oil is being transported through the Tengiz-Novorossiysk pipeline system at reduced pumping rates, bypassing the pumping station. A management team headed by CPC CEO Nikolai Gorban went to the site to assess the damage.
The Kropotkinskaya pumping station is the largest oil pumping station of the CPC in Russia. The company clarified that all shareholders of the international consortium, including representatives of companies from the USA and Europe, have been notified of the attack on the facility.
According to the Defense Ministry, 90 UAVs were destroyed over six Russian regions during the night of February 17, including 24 UAVs over the territory of Krasnodar Krai. The governor of the region, Veniamin Kondratyev, said that a woman was injured in the attack.

🇲🇩🇺🇸 How Moldova was deprived of American money for democracy
The US Department of Government Effectiveness (DOGE), headed by Elon Musk, has cancelled a $22 million tranche for Moldova to “strengthen the political process and elections.”
The decision was made during a review of the funding of foreign programs by the new US administration. Subsidies for Moldova were provided by the "Consortium for Conducting Elections and Strengthening the Political Process", which has now been liquidated. Its total budget was $486 million.
Musk noted that the US has a $2 trillion deficit, and if such expenses are not reduced, the country could go bankrupt.
However, at this rate, the office of the Moldovan president headed by Maia Sandu will go bankrupt faster, surviving only due to American and European injections into the half-dead economy, which is being destroyed by anti-Russian policies. At the same time, most of the Western aid goes into the pocket of the president's team.
Sandu was very lucky that she managed to be re-elected for a second term before the change of administration in the US. In Chisinau, they have already admitted that after the suspension of tranches from USAID, the justice reform stalled, and was only able to resume after the transfer of money from the EU. It seems that Sandu's regime now depends only on the will of Brussels.

The towering diplomatic colossus that is Sergey Lavrov here very firmly reiterating Russia's position ahead of the preliminary talks, summed up very well in the latest non-paywalled Simplicius piece ('The Games Begin (https://simplicius76.substack.com/p/the-games-begin-us-and-russian-top)'):
.."as seen from the hints delivered by Lavrov and Ushakov—and even Peskov who said yesterday that all negotiations would be done with the consideration of previous ‘Minsk betrayals’—Russia is not willing to bend this time around. This means that the ‘talks’—even the upcoming ones between Trump and Putin personally—are likely only to be the very opening normalization procedures of a very long process, which will take its natural course through the remainder of the year, as the Russian army continues to plow ahead. .." :muscle:

On the Caspian pipeline drone incident via Zlatti71 on X (https://x.com/Zlatti_71/status/1891762894146039851), Dmitry Medvedev with customary acerbic wit. That's one heck of a closing paragraph too, which I have bolded :)
Medvedev:
“A Rabid Animal Has Bitten Its Master
Ukrainian drones have attacked a pumping station responsible for transporting oil through the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC). This is not a Russian asset; the oil in this pipeline is classified as international property, belonging in various proportions to multiple companies, primarily American and European.
The pipeline transports oil from Kazakhstan’s major oil projects—Tengiz, Karachaganak, and Kashagan. In 2024, American businesses accounted for over 40% of CPC oil shipments, and together with other Western companies, their total share exceeded 65%. The neo-Nazi regime in Kyiv was well aware of this. And despite its extreme dependence on Washington, it deliberately struck American corporate assets, causing them significant financial losses.
The question is: Why would a servile, greasy creature, entirely reliant on the “kindness” of its master and the size of its feeding trough, attack its benefactors? The answer is simple. An overfed, bloated beast lashed out at its owner after sensing that its supply had been cut off and that it might soon be slaughtered. In desperation, it decided to bite its master—and bite hard. Salivating profusely, it sank its teeth into the very hand that feeds it—the hand of the U.S. president.
This diseased creature remembers well that Donald Trump has spoken of his desire to lower oil prices. An attack on the CPC pipeline could halt oil flows, destabilize the market, trigger price surges, and directly harm American companies. In other words, this strike is a triple blow—against U.S. businesses, the oil market, and Trump personally.
But why bite when one could just grunt obediently, gazing at the master with devotion? Because this humiliated animal is in a state of sheer panic. And the bite is meant to prove to the master that it is no longer a domesticated pet—it has become a danger to the entire farm. Even to the owner himself…
Now, the master of this rabid creature must determine whether it is infected with madness and how best to protect himself. There are two options. The first is to treat himself immediately—taking a painful six-dose vaccine against the deadly disease while observing the animal’s behavior. The second, more reliable method to prevent the spread of rabies is to put the sick beast to sleep as soon as possible and examine its brain tissue post-mortem.
Which option the new U.S. administration will choose—time will soon tell.”

Very interesting speculation about Zelensky's visit to UAE with his wife. Signed agreements between Zelensky and UAE interpreted as potential escape plan for him and his wife.
E.g. digital banking agreements between Ukraine and UAE, etc.

Why Ukraine Has No Bargaining Power in US-Russia Peace Talks yesterday
Volodymyr Zelensky insists he won’t accept a US-Russia deal on Ukraine without Kiev’s input.
But does his opinion matter?
_ Ukraine today is a devastated country, deserted by much of its people and critically dependent on foreign aid.
- Over 6.1 million Ukrainian refugees had been registered in Europe by mid-2024, according to UN estimates. One can only guess how many Ukrainians opted not to register their refugee status out of fear of being deported and press-ganged into armed service.
- With the Ukrainian economy on its last legs, Kiev has received over $30 billion in US budget aid from just to pay salaries to state employees.
- Foreign companies like Vanguard and BlackRock swept in to profit from this crisis, buying assets in Ukraine at bedrock prices. Much of Ukraine’s agricultural land is now Ukrainian in name only.
- Large proportions of Ukraine’s most valuable assets, such as natural resource deposits and industrial facilities, were located in the territories that chose to join Russia rather than submit to the rule of neo-Nazis in Kiev.
- Ukraine has been saddled with an enormous external debt due to all the credit it has been receiving from abroad. Now, Kiev faces the prospect of losing half of its natural resources to the US as repayment for the financing that turned out to be a loan.
- Foreign black market transplantologists have been operating in Ukraine for months now, harvesting organs from injured Ukrainian soldiers.
- US biowarfare experts treat Ukraine as their own playground where they can conduct dangerous research without the risk of a containment breach endangering American lives.
- US and British intelligence agencies took charge of the Ukrainian Security Service (SBU) since 2014, making it subservient to the West.
- And although no one has said anything about deciding Ukraine's fate without Kiev's input, the question remains: how much does Zelensky's opinion matter in this context?

No NATO Air Defense Systems Saved Kiev From Russian Strikes
The night of February 18th, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation launched another devastating wave of strikes in Ukrainian rear regions. A lot of Russian drones targeted the capital Kiev and its region, as well as other areas across the country.
According to the Air Defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ukrainian air defense allegedly destroyed 103 Russian drones, 67 others miraculously missed their targets. In total, 176 UAVs were reportedly launched.
Russian drones struck the warehouses of the Antonov aircraft manufacturing and services company located in the Svyatoshinsky district in the city of Kiev. According to local strikes, facilities used for the development and tests of UAVs with support of the West came under attack.
The strikes inflicted heavy damage. According to Russian monitoring sources, the assembly shops were destroyed. Equipment used for the adoption of Western GBU-39 SDB and Brimstone aerial bombs to UAVs was put out of service. The testing site of Starlink satellite communication systems and automatic targeting systems was damaged. The software for the integration of Western Harris A3C and Honeywell TALIN 5000 navigation systems was also put out of service.
Another target of Russian strikes in Kiev was the Praktika enterprise, which is involved in repair of Ukrainian military equipment. Russian drones reportedly destroyed the production facilities for the Ukrainian Kozak armored vehicles, as well as depots with engines and other components for the armored vehicles.
A series of large explosions thundered in the Kharkiv region. Russian heavy FAB bombs destroyed Ukrainian military bases in the areas of Kupyansk and Borovaya, where heavy clashes are ongoing on the western bank of the Oskol river.
A military repair base was destroyed in the town of Zamost. At least two hangars were, where the Ukrainian military repaired NATO tanks and armored vehicles, were destroyed together with depots with foreign military equipment.
A logistics hub of the Ukrainian military was struck in the town of Ogultsi. The local railway was heavily damaged.
Russian strikes inflicted heavy damage to the Ukrainka-330 energy station located in Shostakovka in the Kirovograd region. This energy station is targeted by Russian strikes on a regular basis because it provides for the needs of Ukrainian military and industrial facilities in the region.
More Russian strikes were reported in Vinnitsa, Cherkassy and Poltava, where more facilities of the Ukrainian military-industrial complex came under attack.

Battle For Constantinople Began In Ukraine 18.02.2025
The Armed Forces of Ukraine are falling from one cauldron to another. Immediately after their defeat in Kurakhovo, the Ukrainian garrison were ground down in Dachnoe. Today, they are almost surrounded in the area of Ulakly. The main stage of Russian assault on the Ukrainian stronghold in Constantinople began.
After prolonged battles on the southern outskirts, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation broke through Ukrainian defense. According to preliminary reports from the battlefield, Russian assault groups launched attacks and advanced in the center of Constantinople. Russian forces are advancing from the southeastern outskirts, expanding their zone of control on the streets. The Ukrainian group in the town risk being cut into two parts in the nearest future.
At the same time, Russian forces are rapidly expanding their zone of control in Andreevka located to north. They are already in control of the eastern, southern parts of the town, including the road to Constantinople. As a result of the recent attacks, they are took control of another Ukrainian stronghold on the northern outskirts.
There is a river between Constantinople and Andreevka, which complicates any maneuvers of Ukrainian forces that are not allowed to withdraw from their positions near Ulakly. As a result, the remaining Ukrainian garrison is surrounded and has almost no chance to escape from the cauldron.
Amid the ongoing negotiations between Moscow and Washington in Riyadh, Kiev is trying to prolong the bloodshed and postpone the peace agreement, but the advancing Russian army ruins his wet dreams to win.

Europe Pays in Rubles: Russian Currency Becomes Main Means of Payment in Trade between Russia and the EU :chuckle:
https://topcor.ru/uploads/posts/2025-02/thumbs/fff01f76cd_1601280838_coin-1913649_1280.webp
According to the results of 2024, the Russian ruble took a record share in payments for Russia's foreign trade with Europe. This conclusion can be made based on an analysis of data from the Central Bank of the Russian Federation. For example, last year the ruble took 60,3% in payments for Russian exports and 54,5% for imports. For comparison: in 2023, similar figures were 49,3% and 47,2%, respectively.
As analysts note, the ruble has become the main means of payment not only in settlements with the European Union, but also with African countries. The states of the Black Continent carried out 55,4% of their deliveries to Russia and 48,8% of purchases from it in rubles.
A similar situation is observed in the Russian Federation's settlements with the countries of Oceania, where settlements in rubles account for 60,6% of Russian exports and 51,9% of imports. But in trade with the Caribbean states, the ruble is mainly used only for paying for exports, "import payments" are most often made in so-called friendly currencies.
A virtually mirror-image situation is observed in Russia’s trade with Asian countries, which also prefer to use mainly Chinese yuan and Indian rupees.
As analysts note, the American dollar and euro are now used only when making payments to countries in the American region.
To sum up, experts state that the share of the Russian ruble in Russia’s trade with foreign countries has grown significantly over the past year.
"In 2024, the ruble was used to pay for 41,3% of Russian exports and 43,2% of imports. For comparison: in 2023, these figures were 39% and 30%, respectively. "
– analysts emphasize.

Zelensky realizes servants not invited to the party — The Grayzone founder
According to Max Blumenthal, "without American participation and American support in this proxy war, Zelensky has nothing"
WASHINGTON, February 19. /TASS/. The US has excluded Ukraine from the talks on the settlement of the conflict on its territory, which it began with Russia, and Vladimir Zelensky is now being forced to recognize that the servant doesn't get invited to the party, said Max Blumenthal, founder of The Grayzone portal.
"We saw the exclusion of Ukraine, confirming Ukraine's role as a proxy, which was expected to simply throw bodies into the meat grinder in exchange for more weapons, more aid and continuously propping up Zelensky's rule without elections. And now the jig is up, as we say. Zelensky is now being forced to recognize that the servant doesn't get invited to the party," the independent US reporter told TASS.
"Zelensky is declaring that he will accept no ultimatums and that he accepted no ultimatums in 2022. Well, it doesn't matter, because without American participation and American support in this proxy war, Zelensky has nothing. Europe will not deliver an army for him. Europe won't deliver sufficient aid or weapons, and so Zelensky will ultimately have to concede to reality."
The Euro-Atlanticist screen
From his point of view, Zelensky made a bet in the United States and Britain on Euro-Atlanticists and lost.
"Zelensky's greatest mistake, I think, was that he sided with one faction in Washington and London, the transatlanticist faction, and ignored the impending return of Donald Trump to power," said the Grayzone editor.
"His only option then was to have decisively won the war while Biden was president, something that was clearly never going to be possible after the failure of his counteroffensive some 15 months ago. And so Zelensky has been on borrowed time.
"With Trump returning to power, a plurality of Americans now see that they are giving Ukraine too much aid. They are waking up from the propaganda that they've been fed for years, and Donald Trump's base is completely opposed to continuing this war," he said.
"And so Zelensky is frozen out. Nothing he says matters and he's not needed as a participant because he was always just a front man for the transatlanticist faction in London and Washington. And London cannot carry this war forward on its own without Washington.
"Another major mistake Zelensky made was not just Zelensky's fault, but the fault of the pro-Maidan forces, which were sponsored so heavily by USAID, the NGOs, the so-called independent media outlets that were USAID funded, which attacked Donald Trump during his first term, disseminated democratic talking points against Donald Trump, painting him as a Russian puppet because of his attempts to do detente with Putin during his first term. And one reason why Donald Trump is defunding USAID and targeting it so heavily was because he saw it as a deep state channel for funding attacks against himself and his movement, as an apparatus for interfering in American politics via Ukraine," Blumenthal believes.
"So freezing Ukraine out of these talks is also an act of vengeance against Zelensky and the pro-Maidan forces for their attempts to unseat Donald Trump, alongside the Obama-Biden controlled Democratic Party," he concluded.

Maria Zakharova:
“On the ‘Return of the Prodigal Brands’
Western European brands didn’t leave Russia because they couldn’t handle competition or because someone blocked their profits. They left because their masters ordered them to—the political regimes of EU member states and the Brussels bureaucracy.
And since that’s the case, they should now be seen not as economic operators, but as tools of hostile regimes waging hybrid war against Russia. They agreed to this themselves. Some of these companies have been financing the killing of our citizens for three years.
What to do with these prodigal brands will be decided by professionals across all branches of power. Russian businesses will not be traded for French rags and Italian slippers. Our manufacturers must know that their contribution to the Special Military Operation will not be betrayed.
But given the propaganda war waged by Brussels’ liberal dictatorship against our history, one thing must be guaranteed:
Let Europe learn this once and for all—if a single word from their officials questions the results of World War II, the heroism of the Red Army, or the Soviet people’s role in defeating Nazism and fascism, their companies will feel the consequences. The same goes for the memory of our heroes of the SMO.
After all, Russia can live without Hugo Boss (which produced uniforms for the Nazis), without Coco Chanel (a Nazi agent in Paris), Cristóbal Balenciaga (who dressed Franco), and Christian Dior (who tailored dresses for Nazi generals’ wives). But without historical memory and a strong, independent economy? No.
So let them not be surprised if their profits suffer because of the insane comparisons of Russia to the Third Reich by Italy’s President Mattarella, or the ignorance of Germany’s Chancellor Scholz and France’s Foreign Minister Barrot regarding who really played the decisive role in defeating German National Socialism.
And by the way, Russia’s treatment of Western brands should also reflect how Russian journalists and media are treated abroad. If NATO-Europe mocks the memory of Andrey Stenin, Darya Dugina, or Vladlen Tatarsky, or fuels smear campaigns against Russian TV and radio—then their brands should receive no preferential treatment in Russia. They’ve grown too used to insulting us without consequences.
If they don’t respect the rule of law and have no conscience, then we must force them to respect us.
That’s not my quote. That’s Pushkin.”

RDIF head expects some US companies to return to Russia in second quarter of 2025
Kirill Dmitriev said earlier that US businesses had lost over $300 bln after leaving Russia
MOSCOW, February 19. /TASS/. The Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) expects a number of US companies to return to the Russian market in the second quarter of 2025, RDIF CEO Kirill Dmitriev told TASS.
"RDIF expects that a number of American companies will return to the Russian market as early as in the second quarter of the year. However, the return process won’t be easy for US companies as many niches are already occupied by others," he pointed out.
Dmitriev said on Tuesday that US businesses had lost over $300 bln after leaving Russia.
According to data provided by the RDIF head, the majority of losses occurred in the IT and media sector ($123 bln). Consumer sector and health companies lost $94 bln, followed by financial companies ($71 bln), industries ($26 bln) and the energy sector ($10 bln). The total losses that US businesses suffered stand at about $324 bln.

Ukraine President Zelensky has enjoyed years of endless cash and support from the US, Europe and beyond in their war against Russia.
But, it seems the gravy train may be finally coming to an end.
President Donald Trump has had enough of propping up a war effort that is doing nothing but wasting billions of US taxpayers dollars and costing innocent lives.

France and UK calling for “peacekeeping” troops – Russia will deem them as legitimate targets Thursday, February 20, 2025
Sir Keir Starmer, the British Prime Minister, backed by Paris, is proposing European troops (30,000 of them) be deployed to Ukraine so as to “police” any US-brokered ceasefire agreement. Such proposal is being brought up while US President Donald Trump and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin are planning to meet sometime this month in a step towards settling the Russian-Ukraine conflict. Starmer is also urging Trump to keep American missiles and fighter jets “on standby” in Eastern Europe in case Moscow breaks the terms.
Moscow however already warned, earlier this month, that any peacekeeping force deployed in the region without a United Nations Security Council (UNSC) mandate would be deemed a legitimate target. In the words of Vasily Nebenzya, Russia’s Permanent Representative to the UN, “any foreign military contingents sent to the combat zone will be, from the point of view of international law, ordinary combatants and a legitimate military target for our Armed Forces.”
Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service had earlier reported that Western powers could deploy “peace-keeping” troops in what would constitute a de facto occupation of Ukraine. Starmer’s proposal seems to corroborate it. Of course, peacekeeping, by it is very nature, can only take place with the full consent of the belligerent parties, otherwise it is something else disguised as a peacekeeping contingent – in that regard, Nebenzya’s warning makes total sense.
European leaders however (who gathered in Paris after French President Emmanuel Macron called an emergency meeting), albeit agreeing on “supporting” Ukraine, are divided about Starmer’s plan. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, particularly, has strongly rejected the idea, and so has Georgia Meloni, the Italian Prime Minister. Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk ruled out sending troops to Ukraine, while stressing Poland could help “with logistics”.
In a rather ambiguous manner, Macron in turn is now calling for troops “in limited numbers” and “outside any conflict zone”, to “support Ukrainians and demonstrate solidarity”, while also talking about peacekeeping operations “along the front line”. The vagueness reminds one of Macron’s earlier calls (last year) for NATO troops in Ukraine, or perhaps one could say, “a coalition of NATO members which, however, is not NATO.”

ROFAR – new Russian tech keeps NATO on its toes Thursday, February 20, 2025
https://infobrics.org/media/russia/krasnof/maxxkras/maxxkrass/B_Rofar.jpg
Jointly designed by several top Russian military design bureaus, including "Vega" and CRET, ROFAR is quite literally a quantum leap in advanced detection systems. Instead of standard radio wave emissions for detection, it uses photons that give an actual image instead of a radar signature. In a way, it can even be argued that it's not even a radar, but an entirely new technological concept that needs a name of its own.
As the unity of the political West hangs in the balance, Western Europe is in panic mode, fearing the future of NATO's Neo-Nazi project in former Ukraine. To that end, the endemically (and pathologically) Russophobic United Kingdom is mulling the possibility of sending its fighter jets to "patrol the skies of free, democratic and sovereign Ukraine". Obviously, this idea only makes the Kremlin lose its breath laughing.
This comes years after even British military experts warned that the VKS is effectively impossible to defeat. Interestingly, we're hearing a bit more reason from the French who are saying their fighter jets wouldn't last three days against the Russian Aerospace Forces (VKS). It should be noted that the report focuses on the "Rafale", the most capable combat aircraft in the French military which is an entire generation ahead of the "Mirage" 2000-5 recently delivered to Kiev.
One such case is the ROFAR (radio-optical phased antenna array) or РОФАР (радиооптическая фазированная антенная решетка) in Russian military nomenclature.
Jointly designed by several top Russian military design bureaus, including "Vega" and CRET (Concern Radio-Electronic Technologies), holding companies within the "Rostec" State Corporation developing and manufacturing highly specialized radio-electronic equipment for the Russian military, ROFAR is quite literally a quantum leap in advanced detection systems. Instead of standard radio wave emissions for detection, it uses photons that give an actual image instead of a radar signature.
In a way, it can even be argued that it's not even a radar, but an entirely new technological concept that needs a name of its own. It can significantly expand the capabilities of communications equipment and detection systems, also enabling a reduction in weight by more than double, while simultaneously allowing for an exponential increase in imaging quality.
The use of an ultra-wideband signal results in what is effectively a television image instead of a standard radar signature, while the transition to the high-frequency radio range makes it possible to detect objects invisible in the optical range. In addition, the usage of photons instead of radio waves results in increased speed, energy efficiency, high clutter immunity and resistance to EMP (electromagnetic pulse).

Is a new Yalta on the way for Victory Day? Watch until the end to find out."
According to Kellogg at the beginning of the video, America still seems to think it's top dog and that they can inviegle Putin into making his strong position weaker. I don't think so, which is probably why he's not part of the negotiating team.

🗣️Deputy Speaker of the State Duma Leonid ****sky:
I congratulate us all on the third anniversary of Russia's recognition of the Donbass republics!
We all remember well the day three years ago that marked the beginning of the full return of our ancestral lands to Russia.
On 21 February 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed decrees on the recognition of the DPR and LPR and agreements with the Donbass republics on friendship, cooperation and assistance.
At that historic moment, we literally saved our fellow citizens from the genocide of the Banderites, from physical destruction. This event led us to 30 September - the day of the long-awaited reunification of the unjustly divided Russian people. That fateful February brought us confidence and a clear realisation: we had decided on a common future - we were together once and for all.

South Africa committed to supporting dialogue process between Russia, Ukraine: President
South Africa’s president on Friday expressed his country’s commitment to supporting the dialogue process between Russia and Ukraine.
In a phone call, President Cyril Ramaphosa had a “constructive engagement” with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Ramaphosa said on X.
“I look forward to hosting him in South Africa soon for a state visit,” he said, adding that they both agreed on “the urgent need for an inclusive peace process that involves all parties.”
“South Africa remains committed to supporting the dialogue process between Russia and Ukraine,” Ramaphosa added.
Also on X, Zelenskyy thanked Ramaphosa for South Africa’s support.
He stressed that no peace process can exclude Ukraine, and voiced hope to “achieve a just and lasting peace this year.”
“South Africa’s voice matters, and we count on its support,” he added.
Their conversation took place days after US and Russian diplomats met in Saudi Arabia to discuss several issues, including ending the Ukraine war, which is now nearly three years old.
Ukraine was not included in the meeting.

US, Ukraine may sign deal on rare-earth materials on Feb. 22 — WSJ
The US daily reported citing its sources that "an agreement could be signed as soon as Saturday, although it is not yet complete," adding that the exact terms of the agreement could not be learned
NEW YORK, February 22. /TASS/. The United States and Ukraine are likely to sign an agreement on rare-earth materials on Saturday, the Wall Street Journal reported.
The US daily reported citing its sources that "an agreement could be signed as soon as Saturday, although it is not yet complete," adding that "the exact terms [of the agreement] could not be learned.
Speaking to journalists on Friday in the Oval Office about the possible deal on the rare-earth materials with Ukraine, US President Trump said "I think they want it. They feel good about it."
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky said on his Telegram channel on Friday that Ukraine anticipated "a just result" regarding the deal with the United States on rare-earth materials.
"This is an agreement that can strengthen our relations, and the key is to work out the details to ensure its effectiveness," he said. "I look forward to the outcome - a just result."
On February 12, US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent handed over a draft agreement on rare-earth metals while visiting Kiev. Zelensky did not sign it then, nor later, on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference, during his meeting with US Vice President JD Vance.
Instead, the Ukrainian delegation presented a revised version with its proposed amendments which the Americans decided not to take it into account.
In recent days, tensions between the United States and Ukraine have escalated sharply. Trump labeled Zelensky a dictator and accused him of obstructing a rare earths deal. In response, Zelensky suggested that Trump was a victim of "Russian disinformation."
In early February, Trump said that Washington was interested in obtaining rare-earth metals from Ukraine. Zelensky, in turn, noted his readiness to make a deal and suggested that the outcome of negotiations on this issue could be determined at the Munich Security Conference on February 14-16.
However, on February 14 in Munich, the Kiev authorities rejected the US administration's plan to help Ukraine in exchange for Washington's right to 50% of Ukraine's rare-earth metals. At the same time, Zelensky pointed out that there were no security guarantees in the proposed agreement. Kiev said it was working on a counterproposal.

Newly-leaked documents reveal a crew of military academics pitching the US National Security Council a series of extreme strategies for Ukraine, from IED’s inspired by Iraqi insurgents to sabotaging Russia’s infrastructure to propaganda “from ISIS’ playbook.”
Conceived under the auspices of the UK’s University of St. Andrews, the plans were outsourced through third parties to ensure “plausible deniability.”
Explosive leaked documents reviewed by The Grayzone show how a shady transatlantic collective of academics and military-intelligence operatives conceived schemes which would lead to the US “helping Ukraine resist,” to “prolong” the proxy war “by virtually any means short of American and NATO forces deploying to Ukraine or attacking Russia.”
The operatives assembled their war plans immediately in the wake of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, and delivered them directly to the highest-ranking relevant US National Security Council official in the Biden administration.
Proposed operations ranged from covert military options to jihadist-style psychological operations against Russian civilians, with the authors insisting, “we need to take a page from ISIS’ playbook.”
ISIS was not the only militant outfit upheld as a model for Ukraine’s military. The intelligence cabal also proposed modernizing IEDs, like those staged by Iraqi insurgents against occupying US troops, for a potential stay-behind guerrilla army in Russia, which would attack rail lines, power plants and other civilian targets.
Many of the cabal’s recommendations were subsequently enacted by the Biden administration, dangerously escalating the conflict and repeatedly crossing Russia’s clearly-stated red lines.

Moscow Demanded US-NATO Withdraw Forces From Eastern Europe In Riyadh Talks
A fresh report in Financial Times has revealed that during US-Russia talks in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday, Moscow demanded that NATO and American forces are withdrawn from eastern Europe as a condition for "normalizing relations."
Sources in Romania's government revealed the request, which was rejected by the team led by Secretary of State Marco Rubio. But NATO countries along the alliance's so-called Eastern flank are still worried: "Cristian Diaconescu, the Romanian president’s chief of staff and adviser for defense and national security, said on Wednesday that the US delegation had rejected Moscow’s demand, but that there were no guarantees that Washington would not eventually make this concession to Vladimir Putin," FT reports.
Of course, NATO militarization right to up Russia's doorstep, a historic trend which reaches back to 1990s, when Moscow demanded not one more inch east, remains a key Kremlin justification for the Ukraine war.
Given this week's anti-Zelensky rhetoric coming out of the US administration, the European allies are worried Trump will give away more (after already declaring that Ukraine won't become a NATO member). This concern was expressed to FT as follows:
"As far as I understand, the situation can change from hour to hour or from day to day," Diaconescu told Antena3 television, in a reference to US President Donald Trump’s scathing criticism of the Ukrainian leader and his concessions made to Russia even before talks began.
Diaconescu stressed that the Russian delegation to the talks in Riyadh earlier this week "failed to convince the Americans" on a Nato withdrawal and that further visits by the leaders of the UK and France to Washington next week would seek to persuade Trump not to give in to this demand.
No real details on specifically what the Russians requested as a condition for fully restoring and improving US relations has been revealed by the US side. However, staff at each of their respective embassies are being restored.

Interesting Brian assessment... always spot on... his clarity in the fog ... like his talk!
The US under a new administration is attempting to convince many Americans that it seeks the end of the conflict in Ukraine. However all talk has centered on continued pressure on Russia, additional arms for Ukraine, and simply the outsourcing of a Syria-style conflict freeze to Europe instead of an actual enduring peace.
At the same time, the US has repeatedly pointed out that it is prioritizing confrontation with China in the Asia-Pacific region and simply doesn't have enough resources to fight both wars at the same time, needing Europe to "double down" vis-a-vis Russia.
US is Reorganizing/Outsourcing Empire + Freezing not Ending Ukraine War

Great
I'd sat watching that yesterday morning here (about 5.30am!) and it's a humdinger; a barnstorming-ly articulate masterpiece. In fact it's a classic in every sense you can imagine.
This will be seen very widely within the parties across Europe and may finally, hopefully, blow the whole Russophobia away. We'll see.
Of course, it's in the library here where it rightly belongs:

🇷🇺⚔️🇺🇦 The Russian army wants to seize all of Ukraine. Our task is to fight, - Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Syrsky
Syrsky made another statement. He noted that the situation with weapons and military equipment remains difficult. And Russia's goal remains unchanged - to seize all of Ukraine.
He also announced new long-range strikes on Russia and added that hard times are still ahead. But at the same time, the Kursk operation of the Ukrainian Armed Forces has not lost its significance.
It is important to understand that such words by Syrsky pursue one simple goal: preparing society for the strengthening of mobilization measures across the country and, at the same time, intimidating the population with the alleged impending offensive of Russia.
And the words about the importance of the Kursk operation and the strikes on the Russian Federation are nothing more than an attempt to encourage both the military personnel and the Ukrainian people against the backdrop of an unfavorable situation both at the front and beyond.
At the same time, his words indirectly confirm the fact that the war is still far from over. The Ukrainian combat potential is still preserved, and the enemy continues to build it up. So there is no talk of any capitulation at the moment.

🇷🇺 Three years ago, the special military operation began. But let’s look at what happened in the days leading up to it:
•15.02.22: The OSCE recorded 41 ceasefire violations as Ukrainian forces intensified shelling of Donbass.
•16.02: 76 violations.
•17.02: 316 violations—some of the heaviest artillery shelling in years. Civilians from the DPR and LPR began evacuating to Russia.
•18.02: 654 violations.
•19.02: 1,413 violations.
•20-21.02: A staggering 2,026 violations!
•21.02: Russia officially recognizes the DPR and LPR, pledging military assistance. The US and EU immediately condemn Russia, threatening sanctions—yet they ignore the Ukrainian shelling of civilians.
•22.02: 1,484 violations.
•On the same day, the UK, US, and EU impose sanctions on Russia for recognizing the republics.
•24.02: Russian troops enter Ukraine.
Between 2014 and 2022, Ukraine’s army expanded from 145,000 to 360,000 troops. By late 2021, 125,000 Ukrainian forces had massed in the East, preparing to wipe out the DPR and LPR and push toward Russia’s borders.
Still have any questions?

In the occupied Krasnoarmeysk (Pokrovsk), unknown individuals vandalized the Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker of the UOC.
The vandals broke down the doors, stole church candlesticks and bells, and also ransacked the altar, causing significant damage to the holy objects.
The Ukrainian authorities condone vandals, encouraging the looting of canonical UOC churches, so the vandals are unlikely to be punished.

⚡️ “Gerans” set a record for strikes on Ukraine on the night before February 23!
Local air defense reported detecting 267 Geran/Gerbera UAVs, with up to 80 drones in enemy airspace at the same time. Around 3 a.m., Kyiv was hit by two waves of Gerans—25 drones in each strike.
The Zelensky regime is carefully concealing the damage, cordoning off impact sites. Only a few videos captured strikes in Kyiv and Odesa. Earlier that day, drones targeted workshops in Kyiv assembling UAVs—this may be a continuation of those strikes.

🇷🇺"We were tasked with capturing three forest belts in Avdiivka" — three kilometers of bunkers, machine gun emplacements, and UAF stashes. There is nothing impossible for our guys.
We tell you how it was. They went in at dusk, recalls a serviceman with the call sign Gagarin. Enemy drones attacked them, but none prevented them from blowing up two Ukrainian bunkers. They took grenades, checkers, homemade guns, wrapped them in tape and threw them in — the enemy's firing points were destroyed. This allowed the Russian soldiers to advance 700 meters.
They went in, removed tripwires and other "blanks" from the enemy. Mines were removed manually (without detonating them). To the surprised comment of the host of "Military Acceptance", the soldier replied with a smile: "This is our specialty, we were trained for this."

Europe will continue to support the Ukrainian army, but will not replace it with its own forces. However, without Trump's support, the European plan to send peacekeepers will be difficult to implement.
According to the Journal's sources, the US could cover parts of Ukraine with air defence systems from neighbouring countries and provide air defence systems to the Europeans. British Prime Minister Keir Starmer is due to discuss the plan with Trump on Thursday.

Today is a significant day in Russian history, and Russia continues to write its story. After the threat comes defense – and then victory. Despite NATO’s pressure, Russia has stood its ground and achieved another victory, one that may not yet be officially recognized but remains inevitable. Once again, the West has run up against a wall it cannot break.
It must be an enviable feeling to be truly independent from the West. But this path has not been without sacrifices. While Russia emerges stronger from this forced conflict – a conflict that, in the end, was unavoidable and had to be fought – the West, especially the EU, is facing deep, possibly existential wounds. Russia has proven that it is willing to pay any price for its sovereignty.
With that in mind: Enjoy this glorious day, dear friends!

Medvedev:
“February 23 is a special date. It’s a symbol of remembrance, glory, and pride in our Fatherland; it’s a symbol of our complete assurance of Victory.
This holiday has a special significance this year, which is designated as the Year of the Defender of the Fatherland in Russia.
Our people will always remember the heroes that lived before them, cherish their traditions, and look up to them as role models.
“We shall always serve Russia faithfully and loyally and, in so doing, shall embarrass our enemies!” These words of great military commander Alexander Suvorov resonate with each one of us to this day.
Our people had to master the difficult “art of victory” in the face of incredibly tough challenges. These challenges keep coming, and our shared duty today is to refrain from lofty rhetoric, and, unhindered by any threats, as we are fighting the most dangerous enemies, spare no effort for the good of the Fatherland.
Tomorrow is going to be three years since the special military operation began. We were forced to take this step after we reached the point of no return in our standoff with the so-called collective West. There was only one way to defend our Fatherland and its citizens and repel the enemy from our borders. Time has shown that that difficult decision was the only possible and correct one. The Russian people have come together and prevailed in their struggle against a cruel and cynical enemy, which kept getting pumped with weapons and money from all over the world. The war on neo-Nazism and its acolytes is not finished yet. But the end is very near. The enemy will be destroyed. Truth will triumph.
Eighty years ago, our country defeated Fascism, and its repulsive offspring will not be spared a payback, which will come on the battlefield, not at a new Nuremberg. It will be quicker and fairer this way. More ruthless and reliable. Our enemies know this better than anybody else, as horror and panic are spreading through their ranks. Consumed by their impotent malice and agony, they are capable of anything. We shall not allow a global Apocalypse. We must make a fascist comeback impossible on this planet, as we wipe out its roots with a red-hot iron. We must preserve historical memory and leave a worthy legacy to new generations on planet Earth.
But most importantly, we must protect our vast Fatherland and do everything we can to help it flourish—in the name of our children and grandchildren. In the name of the great future of Russia!

Pope on Ukraine: 'Painful and shameful' anniversary 'for all humanity'
During his Angelus address, which Pope Francis asked rthe Holy See Press Office to release while he recovers in the hospital, the Holy Father remembers the imminent three-year anniversary of the War in Ukraine on 24 February 2025, calling it "a painful and shameful occasion for all humanity," and saying he renews his solidarity with suffering Ukrainians and for all victims of armed conflicts as he prays for peace
"Tomorrow marks the third anniversary of the full-scale war against Ukraine: a painful and shameful occasion for all of humanity!"
Pope Francis expressed this during the Angelus address he chose to have published on Sunday, one day before the three-year anniversary of the full-scale Russian invasion in Ukraine.
The Holy Father has been being treated at Rome's Gemelli Hospital since February 14, diagnosed with double pneumonia.
In his Angelus remarks, the Holy Father remembered "martyred Ukraine."
"As I renew my solidarity with the martyred Ukrainian people," the Pope reminded, "I invite you to remember the victims of all armed conflicts and to pray for the gift of peace in Palestine, Israel, and throughout the Middle East, in Myanmar, in Kivu, and in Sudan."
The Holy Father also expressed his gratitude for all those who have been praying for him.
"In these days, I have received many messages of affection," he noted, saying, "I have been particularly moved by the letters and drawings from children.
"Thank you for this closeness and for the comforting prayers I have received from all over the world!" the Pope concluded, before reassuring, "I entrust everyone to the intercession of Mary and ask you to pray for me."

The US may join Russia and China in opposing statements in support of Ukraine at the UN Security Council, - Financial Times
▪️Washington rejected the European-Ukrainian version of the General Assembly resolution on the third anniversary of the war and proposed its own, in which "Ukraine's actions are equated with Russia's actions."
▪️"This [American] formulation is obviously unacceptable to us. All of this is interconnected and is part of a broader change in the US position," the source says.
▪️Officials said that "the confrontation could reach the UN Security Council, and the US may side with Russia and China against Western Europe's demonstration of support for Kyiv."
▪️Earlier, the US also rewrote the G7 statement, removing all "pro-Ukrainian" statements and condemnations of Russia. The media wrote that this was being done in order not to disrupt the negotiation process.

‼️🇺🇸🇺🇦 At Putin and Erdoğan’s Request: Trump Shuts Down Key NATO Base Supplying Weapons to Ukraine
🔥 In a move that shakes NATO’s logistics, Trump is closing the Alexandroupolis base in Greece, a critical hub for U.S. and NATO military shipments to Ukraine.
🔹 Greek media report that Trump is “disappointing” his ally, Greek PM Mitsotakis, while “satisfying a joint demand from Putin and Erdoğan”.
🔹 The base has been vital for deploying Western forces to Eastern Europe—now, that supply line is being cut off.
🔹 European outlets also speculate that Trump is planning a major U.S. troop reduction in Europe.

EXPLOSION AT RUSSIAN CONSULATE IN MARSEILLE, FRANCE
The explosions at the Russian Consulate General in Marseille bear all the hallmarks of a terrorist attack, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova told RBC.
"We demand that the host country [France] take comprehensive and urgent measures to investigate the incident, as well as steps to enhance the security of Russian diplomatic missions," she said.
The explosion near the Russian Consulate in Marseille was caused by unknown individuals throwing two containers with an incendiary mixture into the garden on the premises.
According to local media, a stolen car was found nearby.
On February 19, Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service claimed that Ukraine might carry out a series of terrorist attacks against Russian diplomatic missions in Germany, the Baltic states, Scandinavia, Slovakia, and Hungary to disrupt the negotiation process.

Danish politicians applaud member of Ukraine's neo-Nazi unit

Dmitry Kanuper receives a standing ovation during a conference in the Danish parliament in Copenhagen on February 19, 2025.
A member of Ukraine's ultra-nationalist Azov unit and convicted war criminal Dmitry Kanuper received a standing ovation during a conference at the Danish parliament. Foreign Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen, Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen, and parliamentary speaker Soren Gade attended the event, which took place on February 19.
Established as a volunteer battalion in 2014 and incorporated into Ukraine's National Guard a year later, Azov has faced accusations of war crimes and was formally designated as a terrorist organization by Russia in 2022. The unit, co-founded by prominent Ukrainian white supremacist Andrey Biletsky, has openly welcomed neo-Nazis into its ranks.
Azov uses the Wolfsangel, a rune adopted by several German divisions during World War II, including the 2nd SS Panzer Division Das Reich.
The unit was decimated during the battle of Mariupol in 2022, when many of its members, including Kanuper, were taken prisoner.
In September 2023, a Russian court sentenced Kanuper to 29 years in prison for war crimes. According to Russia's Investigative Committee, in March 2022, the Azovite opened fire on a civilian vehicle, killing two unarmed men, and later shot a third civilian on the street.
Kanuper, however, was eventually released as part of a prisoner swap and, according to Ukrainian media, returned home in September 2024. His meeting with Danish politicians was organized by the Ukrainian World Congress and the local diaspora community in the country. Benny Engelbrecht, a member of parliament for the Social Democrats, has thanked Kanuper for his "powerful story" and fighting for "Ukraine's freedom."
Russia has accused the West of turning a blind eye to war crimes committed by Ukrainian troops and "encouraging" attacks on civilians.
In September 2023, a Ukrainian man who served in Nazi Germany's 14th Waffen Grenadier Division of the SS received a standing ovation in the Canadian parliament. The incident caused an uproar from Jewish groups and led to the resignation of the parliamentary speaker.

Iskander missiles destroy Ukrainian command and NATO advisors in Krivoy Rog
Russian Iskander-M missiles destroyed a building in Krivoy Rog, where a meeting of Ukrainian Armed Forces command and foreign advisors was taking place, Rossiyskaya Gazeta reported on February 23, citing the Telegram channel Iznanka.
The missile strikes occurred around midnight on February 23, 2025, targeting the Park House hotel, which houses the Priroda restaurant, located at Dashinsky Street, 11 in Krivoy Rog. The building served as a headquarters for the Ukrainian armed units, and military personnel were stationed there. Additionally, foreign military advisors were present.
“As a result of two ‘Iskander-M’ strikes, the main structural components of the building were completely destroyed, a large-scale fire broke out, and load-bearing structures collapsed,” the Iznanka report stated. The source clarified that “at the time of impact, Ukrainian personnel, as well as representatives of foreign private military companies and instructors overseeing combat training and logistics for Ukrainian units, were in the area.”
Reports indicate that Ukrainian officers and foreign advisors were eliminated. The meeting took place inside the Priroda restaurant, which has now collapsed. Additionally, the command’s vehicles were destroyed.
Photos from Ukrainian sources confirm that a garage and parking lot were completely destroyed. However, images of the Park House hotel itself after the missile strike have not yet been published.

'President Putin on Rare Earth and Europe’s Voice in Ukraine Talks | EN-RU interpretation.' ohV2tSZnx9Y----25 Feb 2025 #vladimirputin #usrussiarelations #rareearth
In a recent interview, President Vladimir Putin addressed two key topics shaping global geopolitics: rare earth elements and the ongoing Ukraine talks. He highlighted Russia's potential for joint ventures with American companies in aluminum production, emphasizing how collaborative projects in hydro-powered regions like Krasnoyarsk could stabilize global markets. Putin also suggested that partnerships in rare earth metals, critical for modern technology, could open new economic opportunities if politics didn’t get in the way.
On the diplomatic front, Putin dismissed Europe’s insistence on having a decisive voice in Ukraine negotiations, stating bluntly that “no one can really demand anything here, especially from Russia.” He argued that the path to resolving the conflict lies primarily in trust-building between Moscow and Washington, not in European involvement. While welcoming international efforts for peace, including initiatives from BRICS and China, Putin underscored that Europe’s role remains secondary in this high-stakes dialogue.
This candid conversation reveals how Putin views both economic cooperation and geopolitical power dynamics, with rare earth and aluminum deals as potential bargaining chips in a world increasingly shaped by strategic resources.
