Dozens dead as Israel and Hamas escalate aerial bombardments:(

Hostilities between Israel and Hamas escalated on Tuesday, raising the death toll in two days to 32 Palestinians and three people in Israel, with Israel carrying out multiple air strikes in Gaza and the militant group firing rockets at Tel Aviv.

A 13-story residential building in Gaza collapsed after it was hit by an Israeli air strike, one of hundreds that Israel said it had carried out against Hamas targets.

They were the most intensive aerial exchanges between Israel and Hamas since a 2014 war in Gaza, and prompted international concern that the situation could spiral out of control.

U.N. Middle East peace envoy Tor Wennesland tweeted: "Stop the fire immediately. We're escalating towards a full scale war. Leaders on all sides have to take the responsibility of de-escalation.

"The cost of war in Gaza is devastating & is being paid by ordinary people. UN is working w/ all sides to restore calm. Stop the violence now," he wrote.

Into the early hours of Wednesday morning, Gazans reported their homes shaking and the sky lighting up with Israeli attacks, outgoing rockets fired by Hamas and Islamic Jihad, and Israeli air defence missiles intercepting them.

Israelis ran for shelters or flattened themselves on pavements in communities more than 70 km (45 miles) up the coast amid sounds of explosions as interceptor missiles streaked into the sky. Israel said hundreds of rockets had been fired by Palestinian militant groups.

In Tel Aviv, air raid sirens were heard around the city. For Israel, the militants' targeting of Tel Aviv, its commercial capital, posed a new challenge in the confrontation with the Islamist Hamas group, regarded as a terrorist organisation by Israel and the United States.

The violence followed weeks of tension in Jerusalem during the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan, with clashes between Israeli police and Palestinian protesters in and around Al-Aqsa Mosque, on the compound revered by Jews as Temple Mount and by Muslims as the Noble Sanctuary.

These escalated in recent days ahead of a – now postponed - court hearing in a case that could end with Palestinian families evicted from East Jerusalem homes claimed by Jewish settlers.

The standard answer I believe would be Iran, because of course Iran bad/Israel good. And certainly Palestinians bad.

It's never made a lot of sense to me why Hamas would fire off these little rockets that usually wind up falling helplessly into some field, knowing full well the response will be devastating for their people. Why would you do that? Especially if you stand virtually no chance of even inflicting any real damage in doing so.

You know what makes more sense to me? That Intel agencies like the Mossad/CIA choose their timing every now and then, and pull harmless little false flags on themselves as an excuse and pretext to go in and assert themselves militarily on these all but helpless people who are penned inside what is essentially the world's largest prison.

Israel, aided by full compliance from the usual lap dog Western media sources, has mastered the art of playing victim while simultaneously and ruthlessly exerting full spectrum dominance. Who's going to question Israel, and who's going to seek out the Palestinian point of view? The answer is virtually no one. It's automatic.

I apologize as I don't want to derail this thread, as what is taking place is very important.

One thing that is showing in this short thread - how much MSM lies and manipulates things. For years I have read about wars in the middle east, but I doubt that without living there myself for about 5 years I will never know the real truth to what is going.

For all we know, The U.S., Russia and China might all be the bad guy in this entire thing.

One thing we do know, while the Trump administration was in charge, there seemed to be less bombings - at least we did not see it. So, we are left with "did the Trump admin keep more things hidden in an attempt to display a level of peace? Or was there bombings going on that we just didn't know about?"

I see a very difficult future as we can not trust almost any news source.

I think, to anyone living there it’s obvious. It’s very densely populated country with lots of stress going on at all times.

They’ve never mentioned destruction of peaceful homes and settlements in Gaza Western bank either.


It’s an internal conflict being solved in obsolete manner from both sides in the eternal war between “us” and “them”.

Something i found very odd just happened in Syria, Tu-22 bombers from Russia have arrived without any planning or notice, i wonder if this is related to the latest stuff that was happening with Israel and Palestine

These bombers are a big step up from what Russia had before in Syria, the next one above this is a nuclear bomber, and we also know that this plane was at some point configured to launch nuclear bombs, but deploying that configuration was "cancelled", as far as everyone knows

I think the reason these bombers are there on Syria is to take advantage of what's going on and setup a dominant position and control over the entire area, and possibly since they are "patrolling" no Israel plane would be able to just fly freely around since it could become a mayor issue were they to face each other out there. Now that this episode between the Israeli's and the Palestinians is winding down it appears blatantly obvious what happened. Biden restored US taxpayer aid to the Palestinians in April and they shot off thousands of missiles in May. On April 7th of this year, Biden gave them /$235M in aid. This was a clear and unmistakable message that there will be no punitive action should they engage in war-like behavior or terrorist activity against Israel. Biden mentions a cease-fire and Netanyahu says that he will stop once the Israeli's inflicts maximum damage inside the Gaza Strip. A few days later Netanyahu says he is finished and Biden claims and is given credit for a cease-fire in an excursion that he actually started.

I have little to no interest in these conflicts, they have been going on for years and neither side is right. This is simply an observation on why and how this conflict got started in the first place.
