This is general interest, nothing to do with the current end times doom and gloom.
I came across an interesting video about the Achill Prophecy by Brian Rua U'Cearbhain, a 17th century prophet from Erris, Co. Mayo in Ireland. He was said to have predicted that "Carriages travelling North and South will have iron wheels and the stones on the roads will be talking" and "Carriages on wheels with smoke and fire will come to Achill and the first and last carriages will carry dead bodies".
With the prophecy concerning Achill, in Co. Mayo, that did come to pass. This video is narrated partly in English and mainly in Irish with English subtitles. It is a sad tale, also very interesting about the social history of rural Ireland in the 19th century and the poverty that many endured.

The Irish side of my family are all from Sligo and County Mayo. So this was really interesting to watch. The collection of old photos of the area are great to see.
Thankyou 😊
What a harsh life it was to lead in those days around the Mayo areas. I also never knew about the seasonal migration to Scotland. That may explain a tiny percentage of Scottish heritage I have too on that side of the tree!

Brian Rua U 'Cearbhain: Prophet
Many events have been proven to have occurred as this Prophet predicted.
Prophesies:
During 1678 a Fr. Paul Higgins instructed his parishioners not to associate with U ‘Cearbhain but his reply was that the named individual would become a Protestant Minister in four weeks!
He purchased cattle from an O’Donnell man who when requested payment was informed that the money would come from the sea, a short time later a ship with gold on board was wrecked along the coast!
Other prophesies from this man that became true:
There will be a house on every hill, and a bridge on every stream.
Paupers will be wearing shoes and children will speak English. (Gaelic or Irish was 100 per cent spoken back in the 17th to 18th century. The British occupation was trying to eradicate the language that eventually English was the predominant language by the 19th century in Ireland)
Roads of meal will be made all over Ireland and a half – penny candle will burn all the money in the country.
There will be a road across every bog and the roads will have ribbons of eyes.
A bridge will be made over the Abhainn Mor River at Bellacorick and it will never be finished.
People will be imprisoned without crime or cause, and it is a wise man that leaves the country.
(The evictions by Captain Boycott in the 19 century)
The roads will have fences and the crossings will have gates to keep out trespassers. (The development of large estates by the British aristocracy/gentry)
There will be a year of plenty, followed by a year of grief and other few years and not many will survive. (The famine 1840 to 1847) It has been proven that it was one of the first global genocides by the British occupation.)
News will travel on the top of poles faster than a hawk will fly from Dublin to Blacksod Bay.
(The telegraph system of late 19 century)

Thank you Aoibhghaire for posting more of his prophecies. It's always interesting to see how modern inventions are interpreted before their time by seers who may not fully understand what they see in their visions, such as this one for cat's eyes!
There will be a road across every bog and the roads will have ribbons of eyes.
