View Full Version : How to have a Significant Effect on New (Neutral-Undecided) Uninformed Project Avalon Guests

Claiming to have a "balanced view" does not guarantee you are flawless nor that "more sides are flawless" ... meaning everybody can be a victim of "whitewashed lies" & deceptions on multiple levels ... if you mix the flaws of multiple angles you may look like "balanced" but it does not guarantee you are on the path to real truth. Many people are scared to fall for certain convictions that turn out to be lies or deceptions but to "balance" that ... you may fall in to another trap. Outsmart "all sides" use only things that really helps you to find your own unique authentic path or way!

My personal perspectives in: "How to have a Significant Effect on New Uninformed (Neutral-Undecided) Project Avalon Guests (https://projectavalon.net/forum4/showthread.php?115952-What-s-Up-With-The-Guests)".

01. Having a much higher standards than any tribalistic platforms dealing with controversial issues.
02. If possible, stay calm and focused ... if you get over-emotional even if you are completely right & correct it will not help if you over-react or becoming hyperbolic to add more unnecessary jet-fuel to an already explosive topic ... Some tend to use exaggerations as an "art-form" to express their rage and anger to another level which can be unintentionally funny or ridiculous ... Tip: say first that you are angry or upset and still try to be at your best in explaining WHY you are angry in a calm focused way ... and always add how you want it to be in how to transform the whatever unwanted situation!

03. Having a (practical) sense of humor ... understanding Satire, Parodies, 'Advanced Sarcasm' (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ZW-AZ2mNeA) that may only work if you are truly & obvious hilarious. If some still do not get it ... they may be "beyond help".

https://starecat.com/content/wp-content/uploads/the-awkward-moment-when-your-sarcasm-is-so-advanced-people-actually-think-you-are-stupid.jpg

04. Understanding that any controversial claim have some biased perceptions and all "counter (liberal) MSM bias" is not necessarily on the same levels of deceptions/mistakes ... You can be a victim of believing a lie (having false assumptions) or believing a misunderstanding/misrepresentation to be "true" ... both are often seen as the same ... but they are certainly not!

05. Allowing others to be different as long as they (and you) do not push or force you in to one narrow myopic tunnel vision narrative serving the status quo and/or any (suspect) cult.

06. Always showing your source-links of what you share ... maybe even adding a disclaimer can help to straight out things what you consider "real" ... what is speculative ... or just opinions ... Be aware anyone can use buzzwords like the word: "facts" but that is never a guarantee they are exactly that.

07. Be, if possible, self-reflective (https://antimaximalist.com/self-reflection-quotes/)in what you say or claim.
08. Sometimes using only government (.gov) sites and/or academic (https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/) (.edu) and/or big mainstream media sources to show huge contradictions & hypocrisies ... If presented well it can have a very powerful impact for all kinds of neutral (uninformed) people! ... Breaking the Mass Conditioning & Mass Cognitive Dissonance.

09. Have some basic guidelines that set higher standards in how to communicate with each-other without losing your authenticity (being genuine).
10. Show that you are willing to learn new insights ... if your track record is only to lecture others and never show interest in others perspectives (other points of view) people will most likely ignore you ... even if you have valid points.
11. Try to avoid adding subjective additives to assume you make a case "better" that way. You mostly do not.
12. Be open & frank what you actually want to accomplish upfront (what your true mission is) ... I can sense very fast when someone has an ulterior agenda searching for reasons to inject that personal agenda. It does not have to be a bad thing as long as you are transparent about it. Some "missions" have obvious self-imposed limitations & self-censorship mechanisms.

13. I know this one is very cliché: Avoid (as much as you can) "group think", "hive mind", collectivism, "we vs them", tribalism etc.
14. Any generalization for or against any controversial topic is not doing any service nor justice to the full spectrum of the truth.
15. Avoid assuming, without any real evidence, that, especially someone you once liked is called "controlled opposition (https://projectavalon.net/forum4/showthread.php?115773-Truther-Counselor-Beta-Test-001)" by you.

16. I often use this quote of mine: "Practicing discernment skills can never be spoon-fed" ... meaning: everybody is responsible for their own quality of thinking and act accordingly.

** a "Truther" is not somebody who claims to posses the "absolute truth" (absolutism) ... but rather somebody who demands truth form any assumed authority influencing/manipulating millions.

The moderators read new forum applications from guests every day. A significant number of them (a) have followed us for years anonymously, and (b) stress how impressed they are with the kindness, friendliness, sanity, awareness and intelligence of the members. (And their posts!)

So we just need to continue doing what we're doing. My request to every member is to always bear this in mind and remember you're on public display often with far more people reading what you write than you may assume.

It's not always about not being a jerk or a troll. It's ALSO about

Being clear and concise in your posts, and formatting them well. (Always remember, you're writing something which is being published.)
Embedding videos and images if you can. (Always ask for help if stuck.)
Posting in the right/best thread. (This quite often doesn't happen, and the mods are always working behind the scenes to reorganize things. That's because just like in a library, or a grocery store, people need to be able to find things easily and quickly in the right sections.)
Adding descriptions to videos, often best in your own words. There's nothing more frustrating than a "naked" video, with no description of any kind, which then disappears and no-one can ever know what it was to try to find it again. And PLEASE DON'T just blindly copy the video title, which is often poor. That's just lazy! If a video is worth posting, it's also worth adding your own intelligent and perceptive thoughts.

I also think it is extremely important, if we can to share our own personal experience of evolution of consciousness. I know that is easier said than done. It is do dearly needed at this time. If we can share our personal journey to any extent I know that this will be invaluable. If we can share our own vulnerabilities and show our own humanness, this will give others hope.

I have been overjoyed to see that the kindness and tolerance of Avalon continues to expand all the while it seems the opposite is happening in many cultures. Let's continue with our beautiful trend.

Love to read your "Top 3" (max Top 5) choices/focus of importance/priority ... chosen from above Top 16 (random order) personal perspectives I created today here in this forum-thread.

I will do the same if more than 3 members share their Top 3 :)

Thanks in advance  :dog:

cheers,

Pardon my ignorance, but what is the benefit of embedding a video rather than just sharing the link?

My thought is that if it a 'sensitive' topic, then it could disappear from the original site, whereas if it is embedded on PA, then it's more than likely to be there forever.

When you click on the link you are taken off site, whereas an embedded vid means there's a greater chance the guests/members will go on to view other posts and threads.

I think it's important to include any videos original given title even if it's in hideously poor taste or has nothing to with the content, since it can be used to search for copies of a deleted video or articles referring to it. If a video's title is terrible, just say it is and why it's worth a look anyway.

I seem to have an instinct for spotting new members who are going to be a problem (shill, troll, harboring hidden motives, etc.).
My inner cranky old lady :mmph: immediately gets triggered.
Though she's usually right on target, I will work more to keep her calm.
