Apple’s new system, regardless of how anyone tries to justify it, will permanently redefine what belongs to you, and what belongs to them.
How?
The task Apple intends its new surveillance system to perform—preventing their cloud systems from being used to store digital contraband, in this case unlawful images uploaded by their customers—is traditionally performed by searching their systems. While it’s still problematic for anybody to search through a billion people’s private files, the fact that they can only see the files you gave them is a crucial limitation.
Now, however, that’s all set to change. Under the new design, your phone will now perform these searches on Apple’s behalf before your photos have even reached their iCloud servers, and—yada, yada, yada—if enough "forbidden content" is discovered, law-enforcement will be notified.

If anyone thinks their phone is theirs because they bought it with their own money...think again. You are merely renting the hardware...and the software was never yours.

I use my phone mostly to speak with other people.

As an aside. My most viewed list ignores my most viewed site - Avalon is not listed. Even Alex Jones is listed...
We are censored directly by these big tech firms. Social media is even worse. Putting anything on the cloud is like revealing questionable deductions on your income tax to the IRS (CRA in Canada). You give them the data they will use it against you.
And now they will invade your privacy directly on your iphone, which is why I say we do not own our phones because privacy only applies to those things you own.

I have iPhone 5s, iPad Mini 2 and Macbook Pro 2011. Guess I'm not even going to get any of these new fancy updates. :) But that Macbook Pro still kicks ass. Fast enough, reliable enough and somehow it just works just fine as a all around machine. Not going to buy any new Apple machines anyway. I have PC (with Windows 10 and Linux) and Android phone now which I use mainly anyway.

I use my (non-Apple) phone to very rarely speak with others...

I have 4 old Nokia phones, couple of Samsungs, one Huawei and couple of prepaid sims. Of course those prepaid cards won't work when the **** heats the fan but at least I have a lot of useless phones to spare! :)

Same here! No one knows my number as I only use it when I need to call someone and for emergencies. Apparently I could access the internet on it but I could never be bothered to try to figure that out.
So fed up of being asked, "what's your mobile number?".

I used to have only one prepaid phone. That was for 9 years and almost no one knew my number. I still have one prepaid phone attached to those Apple-devices I mentioned before (and for the other stupid accounts needed all around the internet) and one official number that I'll give to everyone who ever needs it. That being said, I'll probably need more prepaid sims. Now is a good time to buy some. Might come handy in the near future. :)
