Wow that's kind of brilliant. Oh dear it's kind of true. And, I'm sure this is pretty much how the 'elite' class view the mass of humanity. That's kind of obvious.

The question I've been asking myself again recently is something along the lines of "what if all of us who just go along to get along, who don't really think for ourselves, act on impulse constantly, and only really follow the heard, in order to fit in and feel we're doing the right thing.... what if we were given different options?"

Watching this I seem to remember an experiment done on rats where basically if the rats were given the choice between highly addictive, drug laced water, or just normal water, and at the same time they were given a suitable enough environment to live in, they chose the pure water almost every time, and ignored the drug water. If, however, you took away their ability to form proper social structure, and their society became properly disrupted, they began relying on the drugs instead, and turned against each other in the process.

I like to think we're better able to decide for ourselves what kind of society we live in than lab rats. In the long run perhaps 😊 I hope against hope that this whole situation we're going through is the perfect set of circumstances for enough of us to start discerning and choosing, perhaps instead of just going along, and burying ourselves in addictions of every kind. That's hard to do around here it seems! May this current situation be the biggest wake up call it can possibly be. Otherwise.... maybe we are just lab rats.

I really hope not 🙂

what if we were given different options?

Ideally, if we could teach ourselves to choose the best possible options...
Maybe in our next incarnation.

Animated short, well worth the 4 and a quarter minutes.

This is a horribly sad outlook on life. Of course, we all have our down days but overall there is so much you can do to permanently change our outlook and attitude about life. I have never believed the goal to be happiness I have always believed it to be understanding, fulfilment, spirituality and having a sense of usefulness.

Alan Watts has a great take on happiness (if that is what you wish to call it)

Cheer up my cat buddy! ~8D

Whenever anybody asks me “How ya doing?”, I always reply “Better.” or “Better, thanks!”. And doing that seems to actually make my day better, maybe it’s the +’ve-searching neurons firing on all cylinders. 😊👽🐝

I don't think she posted this because it is her state of mind, but a state of mind we need to recognize if we are to find a genuine path to happiness. It's no coincidence that the animal used in this film is a rat, an animal with a very active nervous system. Our own nervous systems are excited by consumption - here drugs, alcohol, luxury goods, money - all the things that compel us to run through the labyrinth of the rat race, a labyrinth that is designed by someone who wants to manipulate our behavior and lead us to the mouse trap at the end.

Just being aware that we sometimes navigate this labyrinth, as the film makes you aware, can help us find a real pathway out of it.
