This is an interesting video - if you like quirky things like this - about a change in the French flag last year and only noticed this week (4 minutes long)...
There's discussion on what it could mean, a change in a flag always has some significance. For example, flying the UK's Union Jack upside down is a distress signal; there has to be the wide white diagonal band at the top left corner but if it's the narrow white band at top left, it's upside down.

Things are always done for a reason. Someone just needs to ask Macron why he changed the flag.

I'd never expect a straight answer from a politician... :blah:

Doesn't it represent the "France first" approach, being the original color of "Flag of the French Revolution"
It's even the same color as the post-soviet Russian flag, which is also all based on the French Revolution flag :)
The only thing that changes now is the order "white, blue red" and "blue, white, red" but color seem to be still the same. Just like they were after the French revolution, and the Russian flag is basically the French revolutionary flag, at the very core :)
That's the message

Haven't seen vid yet, but read this
https://www.theguardian.com/world/2021/nov/15/sacre-bleu-french-flag-changes-colour-but-no-one-notices
Thought two things of interest, the reference to naval blue and the linkage of EU blue shade with 'marian'
So engaging tin foil mode...
Remember the veiled warnings from current ex military of a coup?
Could the flag change symbolise a departure from papal control?
