I have been contemplating this really thought provoking interview Chris Marten has with Mattias Desmet. Mr Desmet states that about 30% are absolutely hypnotized by this propaganda. The hynotic event doesn't have to makes sense or add up logically but it does seem to need ritualistic elements and the concept of self sacrifices, like wearing a mask. This 30 percent are the ones that could be readily manipulated into all sorts of destructive behavior that would previously have been considered totally unacceptable under the guise of righteous indignation. Rationalization for committing atrocities for the greater good, although many genocidal movements could fit the bill here in some ways I see the the Christian Crusades as having some of the same energetic similarities as those that embrace the Dogma of Covidian Extremism which is a weird form of faith based extremism at it's worse. Zealots using CNN editorialized propaganda as support for their stance feeling this has as much validity as any valid scientific study, in fact they wouldn't probably know the difference. As I write this we are getting familiarized with the concepts of "quarantine" camps that are established for the common good and health primarily those that were willing to sacrifice for the common good and can get that dopamine rush that being righteously indignant can provide. I wonder how long it will take for the "quarantine" camps to take on a different purpose. I am guessing they will serve nicely to isolate the "domestic terrorists"(anyone of the 30% that aren't mass hypnotized and eventually most of the others as well. I doubt very many will pass the test of worthiness of survival into the new world order.

Next we have the 40% that see that something isn't adding up but are unwilling to rock the boat or make any waves. These are the folks that would prefer not to engage in any debate because they can see the fallacy of arguments that would support this. They may also have convinced themselves that they just don't get it and if they totally understood the whole thing would make more sense. I feel there are many times in my life where I have defaulted to this position, albeit under conditions not anywhere near as dire as this.

The rest which would seem to be about 30% are just not subject to the mass hypnosis and they are not going to excuse it or accept it.

Mr. Desmet states that one might get a totally hypnotized individual to lighten the stance somewhat, that it is possible with some of them. My take on this is that the the ones that will matter are the 40% who see some fallacy but can't or won't take any action or say anything. To be able to approach these people and get a change in willingness to take a stand could change the numbers of 30% to upwards of 70% that are not going to blindly follow and cooperate these insane would be rulers. I love the idea that Chris has in that approaching those 40% it might be better to do it by not addressing , for instance the mask agenda or the injection agenda but the implications of technocracy. The other implications that we can all agree are not desirable nor something we want in any way. Particularly if we have children or grandchildren.

This is a refreshing understanding and a workable and doable approach that anyone can do.

I have signed up for a neighborhood forum for practical reasons, such as sharing reputable companies and help in finding lost dogs ect. I have been kind of blown away how all roads always seems to lead a few to bringing up vaccination and relating it to political party affiliation and other needless unproductive dissension mongering based on political affiliation Some guy is spouting this ludicrous story line that has Trump supporters refusing to get vaccinated???? I ended having my email address takien off their list because it is a senseless source of mindless , nonsensical hate mongering.

Maybe popping in and approaching topics at a totally different level could assist those 40 % who see the nuttiness but are at a loss to do anything or say anything because they don't want to get attacted by radicalized Covidians or those that see political affiliation as the be all end all. Maybe finding a common ground that most could agree on and working from there is a possibility.

The profoundest upset and grief for me has been awakening to the consciousness (lack of) of my fellow humans. With the censorship and thus lack of a true unfettered ''town square'' where one can take the temperature, it feels like it's the majority who are under the spell, but who knows? Maybe it's not as many as it seems but for sure it's too many..but I guess we shouldn't be so surprised when we look at 20th century history, or the experiments where they easily got participants to seemingly torture their colleagues.

Dear Bill, it did not astonish me.

There are a few flaws in the “theory”.

Allow me to not go into details, but just reflect on this. We all know that there is a behaviour that is common to the "vaccine”-takers. This common behaviour is that they take the vaccines. They also all tend to think that the State wants their best. And a few other things.

This common behaviour (and/or way of thinking etc.) is then explained by the concept of "mass formation". So the fact that thousands of people seem to behave and think in the same way and that they hence appear to form a "mass" is explained by the act that they "form a mass" ("mass formation"). This is not even circular reasoning, it is a tautology.

Such tautological reasoning is typical of certain social sciences (as per Karl Popper’s critique of them) and "mass formation" is not an exception. Mattias Demet is a clinical psychologist (not a depth psychologist or psychoanalyst), and clinical psychology tends to attach little attention to the definition of its operational concepts (unlike psychoanalysis, be it Freudian, Jungian, Adlerian, Groddeckian, Reichian or Lacanian). (As an aside: he is also a statistician, and admirable for the connection he is making between statistics and psychology. Interestingly, his thinking was triggered by the statistical anomalies he was witnessing being rolled out.)

The very use of the term "mass" is strange. Isn’t the theory predicated on the observation that people, hypnotised by their TV screens, become steadily more isolated and hence lack meaningful social contacts – as Mattias Desmet quite rightly states, quoting research done? How do isolated individuals turn into a "mass"? When we see the demonstrators in the streets of Western society’s capitals, don’t they much more qualify as "forming a mass" – or, as Negri used to put it, a "multitude"? Where are all those "mass-formed" "masses" of "vaccinated" people, claiming the one truth they all seem to believe? There aren’t any such demonstrations, because there are no motivated "masses" of "jabbed persons". It is the "unjabbed" who create "masses", and not unconsciously, but intentionally.

(On an aside, the concept of "mass" was instrumentalised in Marxist theory – and based itself on what happened during the Paris Commune, or on spontaneous strikes of industrial workers in the exploitative stage of brutal capitalism. Those were genuine masses, created by common predicament and common intent – as are the masses demonstrating against the jabbing and its ideology.)

So the concept of "mass formation" – which Mattias Desmet is careful to distinguish from "mass psychosis", and for a reason – does not explain what is happening to the "vaccinees": they are not, and have not been formed into, a mass.

What does happen then? A psychoanalytical approach comes nearer to it – and dovetails well with the observations quoted by Mattias Desmet about isolation, dissatisfaction with work, loss of the sense of living a meaningful life etc.

The term "psychosis", which belongs to the psychoanalytical conceptual toolkit, describes quite well what the vaccinated experience, feel, think and display. To put it very simply, it is linked with the concept of repression.

This term in itself has a psychoanalytical definition, and the phenomenon it encapsulates is also known to many readers of this forum in a quite different context: it is the repression of the evil, the abuse, the torture done to them (not only repression from their consciousness but also from their emotional self) which creates the "MK Ultra" hyper soldiers (based on a weaponising of the traits that Wilhelm Reich described as characterising the "armoured personality").

Repression of "bad" emotions, recollections, thoughts, actions – leads to neurosis: the common lot of all of us. Repression of this repression leads to psychosis. Not only do we hide certain unwelcome facts about ourselves in the drawers of our personality cabinet – which makes us feel guilty for a reason – but additionally we throw the key into the canal. We feel horrible, but we do not know any more what is causing this feeling.

Psychoanalysts or psychoanalytically trained sociologists like Girard would point at (thought of, desire of) homicide as thé experience to be doubly repressed: the fact that occasionally in our lives we have hated another human so deeply that we were on the verge of killing him or her (or even did so). Whenever we are triggered again by another person who "reminds us of" what is in that cabinet drawer, we react viciously, by word or deed. We cannot stand the "repressure" any more and show our ugly side. This is what happens when vaccinated people react violently to the very existence of the non-jabbed person. (Videos abound.)

Why do they do so? Because they are themselves the victim of a triple repression. Not only have they wanted do eliminate the "ones not belonging" to their group, and repressed that desire, and even repressed the fact that they have gone so far as repressing it so as not to be reminded of the fact that they are capable of such desires, but they have also repressed their own feelings of guilt about it and as a result their own condemnation of themselves as potentials perpetrators of evil. What is thus repressed is the ultimate "anti-life" desire to kill: the killing not of the others who "do not belong" – but of themselves as guilty of harbouring such feelings. It is the suicidal desire: the deep, unretrievably deep, feeling of unworthiness.

People who allow themselves to be jabbed and others to jab them enact their subconscious desire to live up to their (in their own eyes) deserved death by dying through slowkill. Psychoanalysis has uncovered such feelings of unworthiness, undeservingness as capable of bringing about major illnesses by "somatising" (expressing through the body) these feelings; showing through the language of bodily decay.

The major processes of creating these millions of jabbed people are not "massive" (only the results could be called "massive"), they are individual and/or related to small groups, typically the family, a group of friends, a group of neighbours – the small groups in which people’s lives have always tended to play out and in which personalities are shaped, processed, changed and maintained. In today’s technological world this type of interaction occurs in its minimal form (a dyad of two actors) in the dyad formed by "me and my mobile", "me and my laptop" (what a strange word, is it not? clearly showing that a metal top (an armour) is supposed to hide and repress the living sexual organs under it) — but are we not gradually being persuaded that the ultimate social interaction will be between "me and my AI robot"? Let us be certain that this AI robot will be our eternal triple-repression coach and monitor.

When asked what we should do about this "mass formation", Mattias Desmet says: to stand firm and never to stop informing the others, diplomatically of course.

This is most certainly needed – to slowly unravel the cognitive dissonances people feel.

But what to do with their emotional dissonances? With the pain they are continuously in and want to repress, which consists in having to deal with people (the non-vaccinated) who implicitly uncover their self-loathing mechanisms, and with authorities who increasingly prove to be completely untrustworthy, unable to keep the promises the "vaccines" were supposed to deliver? With their own threefold inner repression of the truth knocking at the door of their Self?

I would guess that the only key is love. The integrating kind of love which sees the other person (our family member, our neighbour, our friend...) as a whole being and as absolutely deserving of that love, and of being loved by the other person themselves, and thereby inviting them not to harm themselves.

Not only softly, or at times with tough love as a good parent will do, unveiling to them the facts that break the spell of cognitive dissonance, but also breaking the emotional dissonance by making them feel how much we care about their wholeness and want them to join again the track that allows them to thrive.

How much we love them. That it breaks our heart to see them like this.

Leon Festinger’s theory of cognitive dissonance focuses on how humans strive for internal consistency. When inconsistency (dissonance) is experienced, individuals tend to become psychologically uncomfortable and are motivated to attempt to reduce this dissonance, as well as actively avoiding situations and information which are likely to increase it.[1]

The group studied a small apocalyptic cult led by Dorothy Martin (under the pseudonym Marian Keech in the book), a suburban housewife.[49][50] Martin claimed to have received messages from “the Guardians,” a group of superior beings from another planet. The messages puportedly said that a flood would destroy the world on December 21. The three psychologists and several more assistants joined the group. The team observed the group firsthand for months before and after the predicted apocalypse. Many of the group members quit their jobs and disposed of their possessions in preparation for the apocalypse. When doomsday came and went, Martin claimed that the world had been spared because of the “force of Good and light”[51] that the group members had spread throughout the world. Rather than abandoning their discredited beliefs, group members adhered to them even more strongly and began proselytizing with fervor.

Festinger and his co-authors concluded that the following conditions lead to increased conviction in beliefs following disconfirmation:
1. The belief must be held with deep conviction and be relevant to the believer’s actions or behavior.

2. The belief must have produced actions that are difficult to undo.

3. The belief must be sufficiently specific and concerned with the real world such that it can be clearly disconfirmed.

4. The disconfirmatory evidence must be recognized by the believer.

5. The believer must have social support from other believers.[52]

The only other time I have personally witnessed what I saw in my son was a time years ago when a friend of mine was hypnotized by her brother in front of me and her boyfriend. Her brother asked me what I would like him to have her do after he woke her up. I wanted to see if she would repeat something that she would considered silly under normal circumstances. I said, have her get up and flush the toilet every time you tug at your collar.

So he gave her the command, then woke her up. He tugged his collar, she got up, went into the bathroom and flushed the toilet, came back and sat down. He tugged his collar again, and she did it again. And again. After three or four times, I finally asked her why she kept getting up to flush the toilet.

First, she just said it needed flushing. She did it again. And again, I asked her why she kept flushing the toilet. Each time I asked her, she would make up some lame reason as to why she had to flush the toilet.

She got more and more annoyed at me for asking, but she did it again and again upon command and could never see that there was anything strange about it.

Her brother hypnotized her once more to release her of the command, but what an amazing thing to have witnessed.

This is what I saw in my son. He could not answer a simple question but only parrot the party line.

Well, as I try to avoid the cinematic impregnation of my mind and soul (“I know already how to dream, thank you”), I am not so familiar with the "Zombie Apocalypse" theme, or meme. But yes, Google did bombard me with "upheaving" images of oddly disfigured extras climbing the Wailing Wall in Jerusalem...

They are meant to instill fear, aren’t they? Imaginary fear, that is. Imagined fear through fear-inducing images.

But that is not what the thousands of jabbed people we, the recalcitrants, encounter instill the "unjabbed" with. These "zombie" masses are not how the "jabbed" look like. It might be the other way around, the "zombie" metaphor might be what our anthropocidal "leaders" want to "inscribe" us with as defining what the "unjabbed" are. Not wanting to be jabbed would then be a danger far exceeding the danger of the virus, or of the adverse effects of the genetic experiment: "not wanting to", recalcitrance would be a mental virus to be stomped out.

In actual act, neither the jabbed nor the unjabbed act like the “ant-men" climbing the Wailing Wall.

The behaviour of the "parts" in this strange play we are playing (the protagonist, the antagonist, the tritagonist, as in Greek classical tragedy, and to a large extent also in Shakespeare) is not mass-like at all —— [unless, as I noted, when the unjabbed take to the streets, intentionally creating a – peaceful – mass] –– but it is individual, and determined by the characters of each person’s individual drama called his/her life. That is why sudden agression endured by an un-jabbed or recalcitrant person from a jabbed person cannot be explained by the jabbed agressor’s "mass" behaviour. It cannot be differentiated from another sudden act of violence or violent remark one is the victim of, occasionally: "where did that come from?", we think then, not having the faintest idea what moved this person, unknown to us, to pick us for venting her or his ire at. As in good jiu-jitsu – a jiu-jitsu high-dan black belt once told me – it is essential to try and assess the "soul make-up" of one’s adversary, not by generalisation, but by screening his or her individuality down to where their weak points are revealed (cf. This recognition and acknowledgement of how a person is wired and woven into the being he/she is may be the main way in which we can defend ourselves, but also, and maybe more importantly, in which we can win back this person to sanity.

Thinking about the transformation of the polity into a tyranny and how we can "sabotage" it, bend it around, overcome it, is therefore even more important than finding the loopholes in the jabbing extravaganza. The drive for total power the murderers who lead us want to obtain will be pursued whatever their means — medical, military, by manipulation of nature etc. — unless we stop it when we intentionally shape ourselves into "masses" that can overcome their onslaught. That calls for conversion, of ourselves, and through our example, of the others. At whatever stage of "jabbedness", a jabbed person can be converted to the adoration of Life. He or she may pass through great suffering or die on this lonely track of returning to Life, but she or he should never give up and we should never stop helping them on towards It.

As the "consensus of the jabbed" (chiming in with the Inspired Words of our anthropocidal leaders) is gradually crumbling it is essential, I guess, to try and use the "divide and rule" rule against our tyrants. As the potential hazard of being inoculated just once is definitely not the same as the one of having two shots, and this again not of the one incurred after a first booster etc., the group of the inoculated persons is not a monolithic block. That means that vis-a-vis the relatively small group of people whom we may be able to influence there is room for an indivual tailor-made effort to win them back.

That would be quite a stretch because less than 1 person in 1,000 knows what "matrix" means in mathematics. But everybody thinks that they know what "matrix" means because "them saw the movies". If such is the case, then the concept of "matrix", being an invention of Hollywood, is by virtue of the psyop (sigh: OP!) concept being applicable to Hollywood, itself the result of a psyop. To think that reality resembles a "Matrix" is the result of being programmed, by use of a Hollywood "psyop", of the reality of the "meme" "Matrix".

The concept of "hypnosis" is a useful concept. Everybody who slushes the toilet when another person touches his collar has been hypnotised. That is crystal-clear. (Especially after flushing six times.) Working from this example and by carefully applying inductive reasoning, we may ultimately find the concept of "hypnosis" helpful. (But: "Everybody who picks up the phone when another person calls him has been hypnotised". Why is this not true?)

"Matrix", "meme", "psyop" – for different reasons – are part of the/a smokescreen.

Shouldn’t we wake up from our collective hypnosis (our mass formation hypnosis!) and stop using such concepts?

There are a few flaws in the “theory”.

Allow me to not go into details, but just reflect on this. We all know that there is a behaviour that is common to the "vaccine”-takers. This common behaviour is that they take the vaccines. They also all tend to think that the State wants their best. And a few other things.

This common behaviour (and/or way of thinking etc.) is then explained by the concept of "mass formation". So the fact that thousands of people seem to behave and think in the same way and that they hence appear to form a "mass" is explained by the act that they "form a mass" ("mass formation"). This is not even circular reasoning, it is a tautology.

Such tautological reasoning is typical of certain social sciences (as per Karl Popper’s critique of them) and "mass formation" is not an exception. Mattias Demet is a clinical psychologist (not a depth psychologist or psychoanalyst), and clinical psychology tends to attach little attention to the definition of its operational concepts (unlike psychoanalysis, be it Freudian, Jungian, Adlerian, Groddeckian, Reichian or Lacanian). (As an aside: he is also a statistician, and admirable for the connection he is making between statistics and psychology. Interestingly, his thinking was triggered by the statistical anomalies he was witnessing being rolled out.)

The very use of the term "mass" is strange. Isn’t the theory predicated on the observation that people, hypnotised by their TV screens, become steadily more isolated and hence lack meaningful social contacts – as Mattias Desmet quite rightly states, quoting research done? How do isolated individuals turn into a "mass"? When we see the demonstrators in the streets of Western society’s capitals, don’t they much more qualify as "forming a mass" – or, as Negri used to put it, a "multitude"? Where are all those "mass-formed" "masses" of "vaccinated" people, claiming the one truth they all seem to believe? There aren’t any such demonstrations, because there are no motivated "masses" of "jabbed persons". It is the "unjabbed" who create "masses", and not unconsciously, but intentionally.

(On an aside, the concept of "mass" was instrumentalised in Marxist theory – and based itself on what happened during the Paris Commune, or on spontaneous strikes of industrial workers in the exploitative stage of brutal capitalism. Those were genuine masses, created by common predicament and common intent – as are the masses demonstrating against the jabbing and its ideology.)

So the concept of "mass formation" – which Mattias Desmet is careful to distinguish from "mass psychosis", and for a reason – does not explain what is happening to the "vaccinees": they are not, and have not been formed into, a mass.

What does happen then? A psychoanalytical approach comes nearer to it – and dovetails well with the observations quoted by Mattias Desmet about isolation, dissatisfaction with work, loss of the sense of living a meaningful life etc.

The term "psychosis", which belongs to the psychoanalytical conceptual toolkit, describes quite well what the vaccinated experience, feel, think and display. To put it very simply, it is linked with the concept of repression.

This term in itself has a psychoanalytical definition, and the phenomenon it encapsulates is also known to many readers of this forum in a quite different context: it is the repression of the evil, the abuse, the torture done to them (not only repression from their consciousness but also from their emotional self) which creates the "MK Ultra" hyper soldiers (based on a weaponising of the traits that Wilhelm Reich described as characterising the "armoured personality").

Repression of "bad" emotions, recollections, thoughts, actions – leads to neurosis: the common lot of all of us. Repression of this repression leads to psychosis. Not only do we hide certain unwelcome facts about ourselves in the drawers of our personality cabinet – which makes us feel guilty for a reason – but additionally we throw the key into the canal. We feel horrible, but we do not know any more what is causing this feeling.

Psychoanalysts or psychoanalytically trained sociologists like Girard would point at (thought of, desire of) homicide as thé experience to be doubly repressed: the fact that occasionally in our lives we have hated another human so deeply that we were on the verge of killing him or her (or even did so). Whenever we are triggered again by another person who "reminds us of" what is in that cabinet drawer, we react viciously, by word or deed. We cannot stand the "repressure" any more and show our ugly side. This is what happens when vaccinated people react violently to the very existence of the non-jabbed person. (Videos abound.)

Why do they do so? Because they are themselves the victim of a triple repression. Not only have they wanted do eliminate the "ones not belonging" to their group, and repressed that desire, and even repressed the fact that they have gone so far as repressing it so as not to be reminded of the fact that they are capable of such desires, but they have also repressed their own feelings of guilt about it and as a result their own condemnation of themselves as potentials perpetrators of evil. What is thus repressed is the ultimate "anti-life" desire to kill: the killing not of the others who "do not belong" – but of themselves as guilty of harbouring such feelings. It is the suicidal desire: the deep, unretrievably deep, feeling of unworthiness.

People who allow themselves to be jabbed and others to jab them enact their subconscious desire to live up to their (in their own eyes) deserved death by dying through slowkill. Psychoanalysis has uncovered such feelings of unworthiness, undeservingness as capable of bringing about major illnesses by "somatising" (expressing through the body) these feelings; showing through the language of bodily decay.

The major processes of creating these millions of jabbed people are not "massive" (only the results could be called "massive"), they are individual and/or related to small groups, typically the family, a group of friends, a group of neighbours – the small groups in which people’s lives have always tended to play out and in which personalities are shaped, processed, changed and maintained. In today’s technological world this type of interaction occurs in its minimal form (a dyad of two actors) in the dyad formed by "me and my mobile", "me and my laptop" (what a strange word, is it not? clearly showing that a metal top (an armour) is supposed to hide and repress the living sexual organs under it) — but are we not gradually being persuaded that the ultimate social interaction will be between "me and my AI robot"? Let us be certain that this AI robot will be our eternal triple-repression coach and monitor.

When asked what we should do about this "mass formation", Mattias Desmet says: to stand firm and never to stop informing the others, diplomatically of course.

This is most certainly needed – to slowly unravel the cognitive dissonances people feel.

But what to do with their emotional dissonances? With the pain they are continuously in and want to repress, which consists in having to deal with people (the non-vaccinated) who implicitly uncover their self-loathing mechanisms, and with authorities who increasingly prove to be completely untrustworthy, unable to keep the promises the "vaccines" were supposed to deliver? With their own threefold inner repression of the truth knocking at the door of their Self?

I would guess that the only key is love. The integrating kind of love which sees the other person (our family member, our neighbour, our friend...) as a whole being and as absolutely deserving of that love, and of being loved by the other person themselves, and thereby inviting them not to harm themselves.

Not only softly, or at times with tough love as a good parent will do, unveiling to them the facts that break the spell of cognitive dissonance, but also breaking the emotional dissonance by making them feel how much we care about their wholeness and want them to join again the track that allows them to thrive.

How much we love them. That it breaks our heart to see them like this.

That is another way to look at it. But a mass doesn’t need to be a physical mass of people coming together at once, in one place.

For example: person A meets person B, C and D. Person B is very persuasive and dominant in her communication and she speaks favorably and admirably about covid restrictions and vaccines. And she is loud about it. She also is very outspoken about these despicable ‘conspiracy nutcases’ who are being a danger to her and her children. She has the state propaganda, the police and (most, if not all of the) judges behind her. Person C is not so extreme in his views, but he hates conflict and really does not want to fall out of grace with person B. Let alone the state, police and judges! He is also not very convinced that she is completely wrong about the covid measures. She might be, maybe, but maybe not. He would never spontaneously call anyone with opposing views a dangerous conspiracy nutcase. That idea would simply not come up in his mind. When B asks C: “Am I right, C?”. C responds, trying keep the peace: “Yeah…absolutely!”. Person A now believes C shares the exact same opinion and also despises ‘conspiracy nutcases’.
Person D is someone who really wants to fit in. She really admires person B for her outspokenness, her dominance. Person D has no opinion about covid measures. Thank you BoR, for engaging the point I am trying to make. I understand your reasoning, but why wouldn’t one call such a group of 26 people just a "group"?

I use the term "mass" in the sense given to it by Elias Canetti in Masse und Macht (https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Masse_und_Macht), his philosophical magnum opus, which ultimately goes back to his experience of "masses" as large groups of people assembled at the same spot and time and engaging in common action by common intent garnered during the Weimar Republic and confirmed by the Nazi mass gatherings as well as those in the Soviet Union etc.

I think that this is a useful concept with a clear definition. In the present context it is the demonstrations against the Covid tyranny which qualify as masses according to Canetti’s concept, as does the large mass gathering in Washington during the Trump-Biden interregnum. Conversely the group looting actions by BLM and Antifa do not seem to qualify as performed by masses, but rather as performed by gangs and mobs. Note that precisely this distinction in this case is linked with the distinction of respectability vs. objectionability of a mass demonstration vs. gang actions.

By introducing the concept of "mass formation" ("massavorming") as an in part automatic, "intent-less" phenomenon Canetti’s concept is being undermined. That is in my opinion unwarranted and dangerous. (The point of the intentional, hidden and hence misleading, changing of the meaning of ideas has been made elsewhere on this forum.)

As the "jabbed" have not yet given proof of making their presence known during real mass actions such as demonstrations with common intent etc., using the term "mass" hides from plain sight the reality of highly individual reasons people have to have themselves jabbed or allow themselves to be jabbed. (Conversely, the interventions of police and military against the demonstrators is an activity performed by – armed – masses.)

The fact that "the narrative’s crumbling" also seems to lead to a "crumbling" of the motives "jabbed" people may have (had) for their jabs, is an indication of the individual, personal nature of the set of motivations people have. Typically in conversations one hears statements such as "I have not taken the injection for A, B or C, but for D" – with people insisting on their personal reasons.

I consider the presence of such individualised sets of motivations as an opportunity for the people with brave hearts and clear minds to turn the tide. If they were confronted with real "masses", they would not stand a chance. In Nazi Germany and in the Soviet Union (to only refer to these obvious examples) people were unable to really resist because "masses" were only the – armed – "masses" who supported Nazi or Soviet policy.

Dear Jaybee, thanks for your point about their "own" internet. Not to emphasise my being "right" in criticising the "mass formation" concept (and a little less the applicability of the "mass psychosis" hypothesis), but I would like to point out that, as tentative an interpretation as it may be, it is maybe not a very good basis for a strategy and/or tactics in the "war" that is going on.

Note that it is the political leaders of our countries who consider the "unvaccinated" or the "vaccine hesitant" as a determined, fanatical, etc. "mass" (as if the demonstrating masses would somehow represent all vaccine-dodgers – in which they are right), and that in order to fight them (us) they are prone to using a "divide and rule" strategy (of jabbed against "unvaccinated", but also of "hesitant" against "non-vaxxers" etc.).

I think that it is a wiser strategy for us to start from the hypothesis that the "vaccinated" are to a very large degree "vaccinated" for varying reasons and have individual motivations (a neighbouring family of 6 are – a 13-year old excepted – all "vaccinated" but for different reasons (e.g.: old age and hence supposed vulnerability for the grand-parents, professional coercion of the mother, solidarity of her husband with her (also called love!), desire to live a "full" life of the son who has just joined university — and these five people not necessarily endorsing each other’s motivations) and to try and persuade them to at least and for a start abandon the booster track for the future.

On the other hand we should apply "divide and rule" tactics to the probably equally diverse group of our rulers who may be supportive of the "jabbing" agenda for individual reasons also. In my part of France I can see how at the mayor’s level hesitancy and questioning is growing. A critical "mass" (in the physical sense) of them might inflect the stance taken by the leaders of departments and regions on one hand, as well as the lawmakers on the other hand.

A quite successful campaign is unfolding now with as title (my paraphrase): "I will wait for the results of the vaccine experiment to be published before I allow my children to be vaccinated". The wisdom of the formulation (let alone the decision) is so obvious to everybody that the logical inference "as well as myself" does not escape anyone’s attention. I was thinking of them maybe having their own internet because this is such a huge endeavor... what they are trying to pull off... in a nutshell bringing down and destroying the West (and, in stages, all the countries of the world)... so they can (in their view)..... build back better..... although of course their idea of 'better' will not be what The People consider better and that's why they are sneaky and secretive about it all... especially the 'depopulation' part...

After months of railing against COVID-19 lockdowns and vaccines, and refusing to play shows that require vaccination proof, Eric Clapton has seemingly embraced a controversial theory claiming that secret messages are allegedly being hidden inside YouTube videos with the goal of driving mass compliance with COVID precautions. The 76-year-old rock icon pointed to the theory as an explanation for his divisive views on the global pandemic that has killed more than 5.6 million people worldwide.

“[I thought], ‘What’s going on here?’ I didn’t get the memo. Whatever the memo was, it hadn’t reached me,” Clapton told YouTube channel the Real Music Observer about why he decided to team up with his old friend — and fellow lockdown opponent Van Morrison —  for the anti-lockdown screed “Stand and Deliver,” as well as releasing his own similar take, “This Has Gotta Stop.”

Clapton told the YouTube channel’s host that he then realized that he had, in fact, gotten the memo in the form of a controversial theory espoused by clinical psychology professor Mattias Desmet, who has been promoting the idea that we are all suffering from a “mass psychosis” when it comes to COVID-19. The theory proposes that messages encouraging people to get vaccinated against COVID-19 and to take other precautions are part of a shadowy attempt to hypnotize the masses to fall in line.

The theory, which has been widely debunked, gained steam in December 2021 on the popular Joe Rogan Experience podcast, which has frequently been the source of incorrect and medically dubious information about the pandemic. Clapton has claimed that he suffered from severe nerve damage to his fingers as a result of taking the AstraZeneca vaccine, and was so sick he could not play his guitar for months.

“My career had almost gone anyway. At the point where I spoke up, it had been almost 18 months since I had kind of been forcibly retired,” he told Real Music Observer. “And I joined forces with Van. I got the tip that Van was standing up to the measures. And I thought, ‘Why isn’t anybody else doing this?’ And we go back; I’ve known him since we were kids. And I contacted him. I said, ‘What do you think? What’s going on?’ And he said, ‘I’m just objecting, really. But it seems like we’re not even allowed to do that. And nobody else is doing it.’ And I said, ‘You’re kidding. Nobody else?’”

Clapton said he was surprised and mystified when “nobody” wanted to hear his anti-lockdown songs, which just challenged him even more. “I’m cut from the cloth where if you tell me I can’t do something, I really wanna know why I can’t do it. And it seemed like I’d had a wall built around me. But I thought, ‘I’m gonna do this,'” he said, adding that he did cut some of Morrison’s lyrics “just to pacify those that I really didn’t wanna hurt … or scare.” Regardless, he said, some of his family and friends were scared.

And then he said he happened upon this theory about the alleged subliminal messages in pro-vaccination videos, and “I could see it then – once I kind of started to look for it, I saw it everywhere … Then I remembered seeing little things on YouTube which were like subliminal advertising; it had been going on for a long time – that thing about ‘you will own nothing and you will be happy.’ And I thought, ‘What’s that mean?’” said Clapton in the interview about the alleged mind-manipulation going on on YouTube.

Breggin has completely missed the boat on this. Desmet IS NOT CLAIMING there is not a conspiracy and he IS NOT blaming ANYONE. You cannot talk to people that have bought into C@v!d and v@xx. You cannot talk to them. I have friends that have turned hostile. Some I have known for 20 years. Their behavior is not normal.

I have Breggin’s book we are the prey, I get his newsletter, listened to his interview s but I am beginning to wonder.

Recently watched a documentary on a teenage girl that over a long period of time convinced and heavily encouraged her boyfriend to commit suicide. She was on the phone with him as he was in the act and voicing doubts. But she said get back to it and finish the job. Breggin testified it was not her fault. She was on antidepressants. When does someone become responsible for the actions?

How many of us have read Mattias Desmet's book? (Or Gustave Le Bon, Primo Levi and Viktor Frankl?( He gives one of the clearest explanations on what is happening today. I am sure not that many people know and understand the difference between a dictatorial regime and a totalitarian one.

Or which one is "the worst" of the two.

He also clarifies that the only way to counter-act totalitarianism is not to become violent, because that only "feeds" the totalitarian system. It's what it wants. So, what can we do?

Personally, I encountered "the solution" yesterday. I went to what is called a biological fair in Namur, in the French-speaking part of Belgium. While it was all about self-sustainability in every way, it became soon apparent that the pricing of what was there was exorbitant. It looked and felt like a self-defying purpose.

But I took one interesting thing from the visit. A man that had started a micro farm (in the town of Spa) gave a talk. It was aligned with what Mattias Desmet describes, but applied to permaculture. And he also pointed out that going against the grain (of those 'in control') is incredibly difficult.

However, he reminded the public of the following tale. It's worthwhile bringing it up here I think. We can learn from it.

The Story of the Hummingbird

One day a terrible fire broke out in a forest - a huge woodlands was suddenly engulfed by a raging wild fire. Frightened, all the animals fled their homes and ran out of the forest. As they came to the edge of a stream they stopped to watch the fire and they were feeling very discouraged and powerless. They were all bemoaning the destruction of their homes. Every one of them thought there was nothing they could do about the fire, except for one little hummingbird.

This particular hummingbird decided it would do something. It swooped into the stream and picked up a few drops of water and went into the forest and put them on the fire. Then it went back to the stream and did it again, and it kept going back, again and again and again. All the other animals watched in disbelief; some tried to discourage the hummingbird with comments like, "Don't bother, it is too much, you are too little, your wings will burn, your beak is too tiny, it’s only a drop, you can't put out this fire."

And as the animals stood around disparaging the little bird’s efforts, the bird noticed how hopeless and forlorn they looked. Then one of the animals shouted out and challenged the hummingbird in a mocking voice, "What do you think you are doing?" And the hummingbird, without wasting time or losing a beat, looked back and said, "I am doing what I can."

Mass psychogenic illness (MPI), also called mass sociogenic illness, mass psychogenic disorder, epidemic hysteria or mass hysteria, involves the spread of illness symptoms through a population where there is no infectious agent responsible for contagion.[1] It is the rapid spread of illness signs and symptoms affecting members of a cohesive group, originating from a nervous system disturbance involving excitation, loss, or alteration of function, whereby physical complaints that are exhibited unconsciously have no corresponding organic causes that are known.[2]

Causes

MPI is distinct from other types of collective delusions by involving physical symptoms.[3] It is not well understood and its causes are uncertain.[4] Qualities of MPI outbreaks often include:[3]

symptoms that have no plausible organic basis;
symptoms that are transient and benign;
symptoms with rapid onset and recovery;
occurrence in a segregated group;
the presence of extraordinary anxiety;
symptoms that are spread via sight, sound or oral communication;
a spread that moves down the age scale, beginning with older or higher-status people;

British psychiatrist Simon Wessely distinguishes between two forms of MPI:[2]

Mass anxiety hysteria "consists of episodes of acute anxiety, occurring mainly in schoolchildren. Prior tension is absent and the rapid spread is by visual contact."[5]
Mass motor hysteria "consists of abnormalities in motor behaviour. It occurs in any age group and prior tension is present. Initial cases can be identified and the spread is gradual. ... [T]he outbreak may be prolonged."[5]
While his definition is sometimes adhered to,[2][6] others contest Wessely's definition and describe outbreaks with qualities of both mass motor hysteria and mass anxiety hysteria.[7]

The DSM-IV-TR does not define a diagnosis for this condition but the text describing conversion disorder states that "In 'epidemic hysteria', shared symptoms develop in a circumscribed group of people following 'exposure' to a common precipitant."

Common symptoms

Timothy F. Jones of the Tennessee Department of Health compiles the following symptoms based on their commonality in outbreaks occurring in 1980–1990:[8]

Prevalence and intensity

Adolescents and children are frequently affected in cases of MPI.[8] The hypothesis that those prone to extraversion or neuroticism, or those with low IQ scores, are more likely to be affected in an outbreak of hysterical epidemic has not been consistently supported by research. Bartholomew and Wessely state that it "seems clear that there is no particular predisposition to mass sociogenic illness and it is a behavioural reaction that anyone can show in the right circumstances."[2]

Intense media coverage seems to exacerbate outbreaks.[4][6][8] The illness may also recur after the initial outbreak.[8] John Waller advises that once it is determined that the illness is psychogenic, it should not be given credence by authorities.[6] For example, in the Singapore factory case study, calling in a medicine man to perform an exorcism seemed to perpetuate the outbreak.[9]

Research

Besides the difficulties common to all research involving the social sciences, including a lack of opportunity for controlled experiments, mass sociogenic illness presents special difficulties to researchers in this field. Balaratnasingam and Janca report that the methods for "diagnosis of mass hysteria remain contentious."[4] According to Jones, the effects resulting from MPI "can be difficult to differentiate from [those of] bioterrorism, rapidly spreading infection or acute toxic exposure."[8]

These troubles result from the residual diagnosis of MPI. There is a lack of logic in an argument that proceeds: "There isn't anything, so it must be MPI." It is an example of an argument from ignorance, with ignorance here intended to mean "an absence of contrary evidence". It precludes the notion that an organic factor could have been overlooked (i.e. that there may have been insufficient investigation), or the possibility that the answer may currently be unknown but known at a future point in time. Nevertheless, running an extensive number of tests extends the probability of false positives. Singer, of the Uniformed Schools of Medicine, has summarized the problems with such a diagnosis:[10]

[Y]ou find a group of people getting sick, you investigate, you measure everything you can measure ... and when you still can't find any physical reason, you say "well, there's nothing else here, so let's call it a case of MPI."[10]

Relationship to autism and mirror neurons

Due to the role of the visual and auditory systems in MPI, a link between MPI and mirror neurons has been suggested.[11] In this context, MPI appears as the neurological opposite of autism, caused by an overactive, not underactive, mirror neuron system.[12] This could in turn explain the gender difference bias observed in these two conditions, with autism predominantly affecting males (persons with autism show diminished activity in the mirror neuron system),[13] and MPI predominantly affecting young girls,[14] [15] [16] [17] who appear to have a more sensitive mirror system.[18]

Middle Ages

The earliest studied cases linked with epidemic hysteria are the dancing manias of the Middle Ages, including St. John's dance and tarantism. These were supposed to be associated with spirit possession or the bite of the tarantula. Those with dancing mania would dance in large groups, sometimes for weeks at a time. The dancing was sometimes accompanied by stripping, howling, the making of obscene gestures, or even (reportedly) laughing or crying to the point of death. Dancing mania was widespread over Europe.[19]

Between the 15th and 19th centuries, instances of motor hysteria were common in nunneries. The young ladies that made up these convents were sometimes forced there by family. Once accepted, they took vows of chastity and poverty. Their lives were highly regimented and often marked by strict disciplinary action. The nuns would exhibit a variety of behaviors, usually attributed to demonic possession. They would often use crude language and exhibit suggestive behaviors. One convent's nuns would regularly meow like cats.[20] Priests were often called in to exorcise demons.[2]

18th to 21st centuries

In factories

MPI outbreaks occurred in factories following the industrial revolution in England, France, Germany, Italy and Russia[2] as well as the United States and Singapore.

W. H. Phoon, Ministry of Labour in Singapore, gives a case study of six outbreaks of MPI in Singapore factories between 1973 and 1978.[9] They were characterized by (1) hysterical seizures of screaming and general violence, wherein tranquilizers were ineffective (2) trance states, where a worker would claim to be speaking under the influence of a spirit or jinn and (3) frightened spells: some workers complained of unprecedented fear, or of being cold, numb, or dizzy. Outbreaks would subside in about a week. Often a bomoh (medicine man) would be called in to do a ritual exorcism. This technique was not effective and sometimes seemed to exacerbate the MPI outbreak. Females and Malay people were affected disproportionately.[citation needed]

Especially notable is the "June Bug" outbreak:[21] In June 1962, a peak month in factory production, 62 workers at a dressmaking factory in a textile town in the Southern United States[a] experienced symptoms including severe nausea and breaking out on the skin. Most outbreaks occurred during the first shift, where four fifths of the workers were female. Of 62 total outbreaks, 59 were women, some of whom believed they were bitten by bugs from a fabric shipment,[24] so entomologists and others were called in to discover the pathogen, but none was found. Kerchoff coordinated the interview of affected and unaffected workers at the factory and summarizes his findings:

Strain – those affected were more likely to work overtime frequently and provide the majority of the family income. Many were married with children.
Affected persons tended to deny their difficulties. Kerchoff postulates that such were "less likely to cope successfully under conditions of strain."
Results seemed consistent with a model of social contagion. Groups of affected persons tended to have strong social ties.
Kerchoff also links the rapid rate of contagion with the apparent reasonableness of the bug infestation theory and the credence given to it in accompanying news stories.

Stahl and Lebedun[25] describe an outbreak of mass sociogenic illness in the data center of a university town in the United States Midwest in 1974. Ten of 39 workers smelling an unconfirmed "mystery gas" were rushed to a hospital with symptoms of dizziness, fainting, nausea and vomiting. They report that most workers were young women either putting their husbands through school or supplementing the family income. Those affected were found to have high levels of job dissatisfaction. Those with strong social ties tended to have similar reactions to the supposed gas, which only one unaffected woman reported smelling. No gas was detected in subsequent tests of the data center.

In schools

Mass hysteria affected schools in Berry, Alabama, and Miami Beach in 1974, with the former episode taking the form of recurring itches, and the latter initially triggering fears of poison gas (it was traced back to a popular student who happened to be sick with a virus).[26]

Thousands were affected by the spread of a supposed illness in a province of Kosovo in March to June 1990, exclusively affecting ethnic Albanians, most of whom were young adolescents.[27] A wide variety of symptoms were manifested, including headache, dizziness, impeded respiration, weakness/adynamia, burning sensations, cramps, retrosternal/chest pain, dry mouth and nausea. After the illness had subsided, a bipartisan Federal Commission released a document, offering the explanation of psychogenic illness. Radovanovic of the Department of Community Medicine and Behavioural Sciences Faculty of Medicine in Safat, Kuwait, reports:

This document did not satisfy either of the two ethnic groups. Many Albanian doctors believed that what they had witnessed was an unusual epidemic of poisoning. The majority of their Serbian colleagues also ignored any explanation in terms of psychopathology. They suggested that the incident was faked with the intention of showing Serbs in a bad light but that it failed due to poor organization.

Rodovanovic expects that this reported instance of mass sociogenic illness was precipitated by the demonstrated volatile and culturally tense situation in the province.[27]

The Tanganyika laughter epidemic of 1962 was an outbreak of laughing attacks rumored to have occurred in or near the village of Kanshasa on the western coast of Lake Victoria in the modern nation of Tanzania, eventually affecting 14 different schools and over 1,000 people.

On the morning of Thursday 7 October 1965, at a girls' school in Blackburn in England, several girls complained of dizziness.[28][29] Some fainted. Within a couple of hours, 85 girls from the school were rushed by ambulance to a nearby hospital after fainting. Symptoms included swooning, moaning, chattering of teeth, hyperpnea, and tetany. Moss and McEvedy published their analysis of the event about one year later. Their conclusions follow.[28] Their conclusion about the above-average extraversion and neuroticism of those affected is not necessarily typical of MPI:[2]

Clinical and laboratory findings were essentially negative.
Investigations by the public health authorities did not uncover any evidence of pollution of food or air.
The epidemiology of the outbreak was investigated by means of questionnaires administered to the whole school population. It was established that the outbreaks began among the 14-year-olds, but that the heaviest incidence moved to the youngest age groups.
By using the Eysenck Personality Inventory, it was established that, in all age groups, the mean E [extraversion] and N [neuroticism] scores of the affected were higher than those of the unaffected.
The younger girls proved more susceptible, but disturbance was more severe and lasted longer in the older girls.
It was considered that the epidemic was hysterical, that a previous polio epidemic had rendered the population emotionally vulnerable, and that a three-hour parade, producing 20 faints on the day before the first outbreak, had been the specific trigger.
The data collected were thought to be incompatible with organic theories and with the compromise theory of an organic nucleus.
Another possible case occurred in Belgium in June 1999 when people, mainly schoolchildren, became ill after drinking Coca-Cola.[30] In the end, scientists were divided over the scale of the outbreak, whether it fully explains the many different symptoms and the scale to which sociogenic illness affected those involved.[31][32]

A possible outbreak of mass psychogenic illness occurred at Le Roy Junior-Senior High School in 2011, in upstate New York, US, in which multiple students began having symptoms similar to Tourette syndrome. Various health professionals ruled out such factors as Gardasil, drinking water contamination, illegal drugs, carbon monoxide poisoning and various other potential environmental or infectious causes, before diagnosing the students with a conversion disorder and mass psychogenic illness.[33]

I lived in Berkeley, California for 7 years, from 1994 to 2001. The opening images of the Berkeley crowd says to me these are not students, but professional Bezerkleyites, who hate any form of authority, and are powered by Trump Derangement Syndrome. They might be former students, who hang on to their favorite Communist style of living near the university. Many of my friends who are still there are getting a Covid shot every time they travel, and still believe all that garbage.
