I just stumbled over this interview where David Godman (https://www.davidgodman.org/) talks about Maurice Frydman (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maurice_Frydman) as a kind of real Forrest Gump in the sense that he seemed to be at the right places at the right time in history, made friends with Gandhi and the Dalai Lama and yet is completely unknown to the broad public. Unlike Forrest Gump he seemed to be really sharp and ingenious:

A free version of the book I Am That (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I_Am_That) which he translated from the original recordings:

The book is considered the author's masterpiece and a spiritual classic by authors and teachers like Eckhart Tolle, Wayne Dyer, Deepak Chopra Peter Crone and Adyashanti, who called the book a "standout" and "the clearest expression I've ever found."

Forrest Gump & The Power of Habit:

When Forrest is given his discharge papers, he sets down his ping-pong paddle and (computerized) ball to salute the officer. When he picks the paddle back up, he also pretends to pick up the ball, which didn't end up getting animated.
