Almost 1000 years, a knight stuck a sword into a stone, and after his death was ordained as a saint. With the age of the sword confirmed, and San Galgano now hailed as a hero in eternity by church and state, this is a fascinating story.

Curious if anyone knows of other stories (or examples) from around the globe of a "sword in the stone" other than the King Arthur story?

Thanks

...

... lots of those around... they are called rebars :p

1/2 joke aside, there are quarries of stones which can be cut and shaped with a knife before being let out to dry and be shipped as building material.

It’s well past time for allowing yourself to be played as stupid and gullible. Just because something appeals to you or reminds you of a past memory, fairytale, or touches a chord in your symphony of things, does not mean it is true. In fact, it is usually false and indicates you are being played.

Wow go for it,you never been played.clearly stated its a story of interest!
I always thought that the drawing of the sword from stone was symbolic of forging a iron weapon from rock.
iron weapons would have given any Chief a massive advantage over bronze.

.

aka the reason for all old stories... education (I'd say that you tapped into a very shallow interpretation of that story, but still, you recognize there is more depth than the surface story... so it's a win)?

nah, we have action movies now... clearly there is no depth of thought in entertainment and it should never be explored for knowledge... especially the old stories.

@Satori, I can confirm that whilst I did read the sign saying the paint was wet, I thought instead of touching it though, I'd ask others here in the PA forum to see whether they thought it was dry.

Fear not, as a well grounded pragmatic scotsman, I'm often reminded of the famous quote by Lysander Spooner -

"Those who are capable of tyranny are capable of perjury to sustain it."

Having said that, I am still curious of any other stories of a sword in a stone that people know of, have heard, read or dreamt.

Happy New Year squire ;)

If in Las palma you could plunge a few cheap "Denix" swords into some molten lava you'd have a some cool souvenirs to sell once cooled !

I have one, but it only comes in midway through a much bigger story (timestamped):

As background, Wim, the content creator, is one of the most original thinkers around. Out of the box doesn't come close to it. I don't think coming in midway through you have a hope of following it, but he does provide another, fascinating explanation for the Excalibur legend.

As with other profound myths and stories; there is much that can be derived from the King Arthur and Excalibur ‘Sword in the Stone’ story – exoterically and esoterically. But even from an exoteric point of view such is wrapped in occultism and ritual, which rather diminishes such as being an exoteric point of view, unless one has knowledge and/or awareness of the occult and such occult rituals. Innerstand the irony in this?

Michael Joseph (schism206) pointed out the salience to innerstanding the ‘mind’ and machinations of such rituals of The Cabal, Illuminati, Elite, etc; not as we would see such, but as they would see such.

I see the Sword in the Stone being the death of our divinity (non-corporeal being), plunged into the corporeal/material plane, and trapped there. Regarding this: much to go into: including the false ‘heaven’/paradise Matrix.

Yahweh (Arch-angel Michael and St. George) defeated the Dragon (Ahriman), in the year 1879; and purged from ‘heaven’, Ahrimanic beings , who were consigned to the ‘earthly’ realm, and have since, ruled over such.

Thanks, Yahweh.
