At one time CNN would be my go-to channel for breaking news. If world conflict happened, a catastrophic weather event or a major political development I would go to CNN to get the latest information. They were fairly dependable and even though you could see the political slant they did their best to play it down the middle. Then over the years, their political ideology began to creep in more and more. By the time Trump had announced that he was running for president, they become downright aggressive. After Trump became President their aggression turned into unsympathetic hostility towards Trump and to all those who supported Trump in any way shape or form. Their hate for Trump became an obsession. Even though Trump has been out of office for more than a year CNN will headline anywhere from 6 -10 negative stories on Trump or his supporters on any given day.

I think one can see the traces of Operation Mockingbird affecting the news media long before CNN was even created, but since 2016, CNN clearly lost their claim to be the "moderate" news station, standing between "conservative" FOX and "liberal" MSNBC. But their left/right affiliations are just superficial and are just the bait to propagandize different politicized segments of the population.. These three organization all just want to put forward a globalist/corporatist/fascist agenda. More war. More disintegration of your human rights. Taking even more of your tax dollars while taking hacking away at your government services and the safety net. And more welfare checks to Jeff Bezos, Bill Gates and their other globalist gangster friends.

I am sure they were in this business of mind controlling the American public long before, but I first noticed this in 2012, a presidential election year. They did a short interview of Ron Paul and all the interviewer would talk about was his "racism problem." Yes, 25 before some clearly racist comments were written in news letter that had Ron Paul's name one it. The thing is, Ron Paul didn't write the comments, didn't read them until the newspaper was mailed out, and has apologized for these words that weren't his, over and over and over again. Also running for the Republican nomination were Texas Governor Rick Perry (who had a ranch called "n*gg*rgate" and Michelle Bachman, who owned a clinic that would apply electroshock treatments on the testicles of gay men to "cure" them of their homosexual desire. Neither of these two candidates ever got the same public character assassination that Paul got. What were Paul's policies and issues that he was advocating? Well, you wouldn't know it if you watched CNN.

Then in 2016, another election year, CNN hosted debates for the Democratic candidates. Two people who were quite electable in the general election, intelligent and dignififed were James Webb and Lincoln Chaffee. Before the debates, CNN did nothing to mention them, their views, their ideas. It was just Hillary and Bernie, Hillary and Bernie. And when the debate ended, as Chaffee and Webb walked off the stage the CNN host said: "Well, that's probably the last you will hear of Chaffee and Webb, they won't be around much longer." And of course, they were right, because networks like CNN refused to take them seriously and had the power to bury them in obscurity. Also, in 2016, CNN would focus on only one Republican candidate: Trump. All the others got quick sound bites, to make them look stagnant, old, or trite. Trump should have sent CNN a thank you gift for helping him clinch the Republican nomination.

Here's what I don't understand: if you are the CEO of Time/Warner, your first responsibility is to your stock holders, to make money for them, to build a company with a good reputation. But they have totally sabotaged that. They were so focus on lying about the vaccine and promoting Trump derangement syndrome, that they destroyed their company, their good will, their ratings. Clearly, profits took a back seat to another agenda. Clearly, the people who pull the strings at CNN had sold their souls to someone other than their stockholders. Who would that be?

Most people recognize that MSM has a liberal bias but what most people fail to understand is the number of important stories that the MSM refuses to report is growing by leaps and bounds. In the past 12 months lying by omission has become endemic to the news networks. Here are 'just a few stories that have not been reported on, underreported or slanted so heavily that the truth about the news content was almost impossible to find.

The media is the window into what is happening in our world and that window is now cracked and fogged to the point where the image is entirely unrecognizable on the other side. I think CNN is simply the tip of the iceberg. Legacy print and visual media had a very long unimpeded run which at first served the public well but now offends the public. Times are changing and technology is leaving legacy print and visual media behind. Only about 40% of Americans say the media is only 'somewhat trustworthy'. News will always be with us but we are watching the beginning of the end of mainstream media.

We desperately need the free press. It’s our only way to keep the government accountable and it’s a disaster right now. Democracy dies in darkness, sure, but bumbling Harvard grads with press credentials can turn the light switch off with their incompetence just as much as corrupt politicians can do with their rules, power and money. The media has abandoned its role of being the champion of free speech.
Therefore the mainstream media must die in its current form and be reinvented. What will emerge is anyone's guess but we can be sure it will move through an evolutionary process before people find it acceptable.

A big YES (actually they are already in that path - see what Blackrock and Vanguard owns). but not only MSM, I had seen many smaller outlets been completely compromised and bought out, including alternative media, and it applies not only to MSM but for almost everything imaginable out there, including personas of interest like Edward Snowden and a few other clowns. Just imagine someone that backs communication App like Signal (Ed Snowden did), and say it is the "most" safe App for privacy and anonymity, but it not only requires a phone number (that can be tracked to you), but also use weak cryptography standard that the NIST and NSA defines as standard "BS military" grade, because of course they can "decipher" it (just imagine how many backdoor they have), after all they defined the standards. The entire thing is a compromise indeed. Going further a little bit, these agencies even says that nobody should develop their own standards (read cryptography) because their claiming it is weak or unsafe or whatever (they are very good with difficult words). But we should NOT take their words as granted, programmers working in high level security are extremely well paid, and they sign terms of non-disclosure which is punishable by death if they decide to speak the truth, or at least a life in prison. This is serious matter, they use fear and violence against people at ALL levels in the hierarchy.

What is the legacy media, you ask? Exactly my point. In another year or two, it's going to be a distant memory, a relic, part of a bygone era like silent films, 8-track tapes, and "The Late Show" with Colbert. In short, it's the monster that manufactures absurd narratives from this thing called life. Sounds like I'm describing a Bette Midler one-woman show, but it's worse.
Unlike me and my staff, the legacy media writes, creates, and produces, not for you, but for their industry to feed their own egos and bank balances. It's a self-preservation hive mind, but like a hospital powered by windmills, they operate only in darkness.

But when the lights go on, they die like ants under a magnifying glass at high noon. You're seeing it now, the manipulation bubble in all its nakedness, but like that two-way mirror I installed in my guest bathroom, it's a bubble they claim to see out of, but won't let you see in. But you see it all right now, and you've seen it before in drips and drabs because sometimes the news is so orchestrated, it makes the Ohio State marching band look spontaneous. Take the holidays or the last weeks of summer. The news just stops. It's not like life stopped or life suffering stopped or crime suddenly went away. No, the faucet just got turned off because the people who run the news are at the Hamptons. Did you notice how nothing happens during the Super Bowl? You'd think that would be the best time for something newsy to occur. But no, it's like even Hezbollah, al-Qaeda, lowly street thugs and even hurricanes and tornadoes have money on the big game.

And aside from some intimately situated bottle rocket injuries, nothing happens on July 4th. And yes, the world is still turning. But there's no one there to create the spin. Meanwhile, throughout the year, actual news is avoided in favor of conflict-driven clickbait. Making people angry is their business model. They prefer that we be mad at each other. As the deficit hits $330 trillion, the border's a mess, and crime runs rampant — because that stuff throws their authority into question. Now, how can you tell the legacy media is truly dying? Well, they're turning their fire not toward people who want to limit speech, but toward those who create more speech, meaning the people whipping their a$$. Turns out, democracy dies when you get 10 times their best audience. What do you say, Doughboy? Yeah, you should ask why they don't trust you. But he's panicked. You could tell by the sweat. His dome is shinier than a Christmas ornament.

But he shouldn't worry. When CNN goes away, he can always work directly for the DNC, and I hear they have great donuts in the break room. But CNN claims the truth is in danger and we need action right now, which is how legacy media tries to protect itself by silencing the competition. They tried to do it to Trump. Now, their new target replacing Trump is Rogan. But it's too late. CNN is in a death spiral. And why is this important? Because for the longest time, they had us. There was no alternative.

CNN was up there with death and taxes. Viewers were like suckers paying 10 bucks for an awful, pre-made ham-and-cheese sandwich at the airport. Where else are you going to go? But that's changed. Here's a fact: Liberals and Democrats now watch Fox more than they watch CNN or even MSNBC. New Nielsen ratings showed that in October, Tucker Carlson was the number-one watched host among Democrats in the key 25-to-54 age demographic across all networks.

The failure of the legacy media only seems so perplexing because we are the ones who fail to understand its function; it's not the other way around, IMHO. It's not because the media has failed to understand us. They understand us very well--and, brace for it--haven't failed at anything as I can tell. That is, we aren't their customers at all; we are their customers' subjects. This dynamic is often overlooked when analyzing the media's shortcomings.

If we were customers, CNN, MSNBC, and even FOX would never survive with only 700,000 viewers, as opposed to Joe Rogan's (and others) 11 million viewers. It simply wouldn't work as a business model. Until we consider what the business model is.

In other words, the legacy media's real "customers" -- those for and from whom they work and get paid -- are big tech, government, alphabet agencies, big pharma, and otherwise an overarching consortium of interests behind a globalist social engineering agenda. Does it seem reasonable shareholders would put up with declining and dismal ratings if the business model was to tell the truth and garner the public trust? Unless, of course, those shareholders have some other agenda they have invested in? The legacy media's sole function, contrary to public understanding, is to serve as the propaganda arm for their shareholders and as a public relations buffer between their shareholder's/customers' interests and the plebs and proles who those shareholder's/customers' subjugate.

Yes, to do the job they need to keep our ear, but they don't need to tell the truth or even require all of us to believe, as long as we are hypnotized into believing they are news outlets that serve the public and report on some version of reality, even when we recognize what they are spewing is biased and skewed. Everybody knows the news is biased--some networks lean left and some networks lean right--and so we all apply our filters accordingly as we consume the so-called "news", but not everybody knows none of it is news at all, it's only propaganda with but one function, to fashion reality itself in the minds of the public in such a way that serves the aforementioned interests who commission the propaganda.

So long as we plebs continue to infer some interpretation of reality and fail to understand this, I'm not so sure the legacy media is on its death throes, as the author of the piece asserts. As long as overlords and controllers continue to subjugate the masses, it seems to me there will always be a demand for propaganda.
