View Full Version : Are you a creator or an imitator?

Some would argue that we are all creators and here at this time to "create" and manifest and contribute to humanity's (and consciousness in general) growth.
Others like or see a good idea, and how someone has manifested abundance from their creation and attempt to copy it (even better it), but sometimes the motives can be purely for greed, power or prestige.
Just look at the news, borrowed news and fake news for example.
Branded products, and knock offs.
Influencers and fake tanned, cosmetically enhanced white teeth wannabes.
Some think that they read something interesting so republish it as original or breaking. Others make it up just to get the attention, fact checked and vilified.
The world appears to be in flux, and whilst I think there is a revolution of more and more creators coming forth to contribute and share, to add value and help everyone "grow"...
Some are educating, inspiring, even empowering others through their videos, art, writings and dare I say it - their websites.
But then it appears there are even more imitators lacking the authenticity, transparency, "honour" (If I can say that) attempting to benefit selfishly instead of selflessly. Many are regurgitating old, vague and incomplete messages simply to contribute to the noise and confusion already there.
Is it just me or are people losing their individual voice, spark, creativity and uniqueness and "truth".
Whatever happened to being a voice and not an echo?
Has the AI won, and the need to be liked, loved and worshipped taken over as the main drivers of human endeavour now?
What say you?
Are you a creator or an imitator?
How do you share your passion, voice or uniqueness?
What is your "truth" ?

Creators think indepedently. There is only a handful. Obedients are copy cats they make up the big majority. Everyone is meant to be a creator but most dont realize.

Our way of life, modern life, is a brand. It is the industrial molding of the human resource into the corporate product: the working drone.
So ya, the product must not create but mimic and regurgitate.

Good thread! ...thus my friends, is it not time to wake up and be the cocreator that you were meant to be in this life? Create the world you want to live in instead of following the fearporn the other side wants us to buy into. The Spirit and mind have much more power than we are programmed to believe in this material world.
Start envisioning "2031, The Great Awakening" rather than the great reset as they want you to believe...

Artists are regarded as being creative. To me some are and others are not.
The ones that just paint flowers or the same kind of thing are copying imo.
Since I retired about 16 yrs. ago I have painted and did drawings. I am always
searching for something different to paint but mostly I learn from other artists
of the past.
If I do a portrait of Van Gogh I have only his self portraits to work from so am I being
creative or just copying. It takes skill of course, but mostly artists paint what's in front
of them. Abstract painting is not my thing but it has to be creative.
I have painted something just from my mind but not often.
I like to think that I am being creative because it is my rendition of what I
am painting even though it has been done before by someone else.
Yeah, the painting I do will not be exactly like what someone else has done.
P.S. There are many ways to be creative other than painting as others
have said.

My situation is a little different now, I do not have my painting supplies and I haven't done much writing for some time. I painted some Plein Air in nature, which can be original.
So I am not creating right now, and I am not imitating.
So that leaves to me my truth: observing and studying. I find that keen observation and study habits are always at the ready if life throws a few curveballs.
I have an excellent listening ear. Likewise, I am more of a listener than a talker. I have become more introverted as I grow older.
While I have watched my fair share of content creators online, I do not think I would become a content creator.

...and then you get "persoanlities" who pretend to channel, to be psychic, fraudsters who lie, cheat and steal.
You then get those who both create new work but it is based on others research and take the glory but make no acknowledgement to others before them.
Do we not each have something unique to contribute in our own special and unique way from the thousands of unique experiences we have enjoyed, endured or experienced for the first time in the history of the universe.
I'm just curious how we can leave it a better place than when we found it, by creating value and something to pay it forward :)

Being an "imitator" gets attention more so than originality. I can spend anywhere from a month to 12 months working on a particular video or documentary for my youtube channel, only to get a handful of views for my efforts. Meanwhile, a gaming youtuber can post a 20 second "reaction to xxx" vid that took less than a minute to make, and receive millions of views (and royalties) for his efforts.
The lesson? Low effort meme posting is where the money and fame is.

Not for the politically correct. Several of my vids have been removed for hate speech, which I consider a badge of honour in this day and age. If I get deleted completely then I will be in good company.

Creators who act and set an example become leaders even if they do not directly intend for that to happen.
Others may follow if they resonate appropriately with the intent of the "creator" and there is little you can do about it!
If you take the ego qualification of one being "better than" or "worse than" the other out of it, it doesn't matter if you are a leader or a follower. In fact in any case, you are always both simultaneously.
I am both!
Imitators are in service only to themselves, and they are manipulators. They can only get so far with this approach and most of that distance traveled is material distance and not spiritual.

Our animal anscestry makes us imitators by design. Being social animals we crave connection. The best way to be accepted is to do as others do.
There is nothing new under the sun, is an old saying. If it is true, then being an imitator would be a badge of honor. In many ways we each carry such a medal. We comply. We go along. We jump through the hoops. We grade ourselves according to social norms.
But.
To be original is its own reward. It is our interpretation based on our unique viewpoint that marks it as one of a kind.
They broke the mold when they made you can be either a compliment or an accusation, depending on the context.
But either way it says the same thing - there is no one else on earth like you.
