Questions About Bill Ryan On Facebook With 8K Followers And Counting

So I'm flipping through FB pages doing my do diligence battling ignorance with meme after meme when I run across a familiar face. Bill Ryan's unmistakable mug from his Avalon profile pic.

I scratched my beard to pause and reflect. Last I checked, Bill Ryan didn't want to post on Facebook. So I proceeded with caution and found that Avalon's very own Viking was responsible for this.
I continue scratching my beard as the plot thickens.
Viking is posting under Bill's name and picture, and in so doing he has amassed 8K Followers as of 4-25-2022. That number has grown by two hundred in the last two weeks.

I suppose I have a few questions in regards to all of this.

1. Is it ethically sound posting as someone you are not?

2. I'm glad the person doing this is an Avalon member who is accessible by the forum and Bill. But 8K followers and growing is pretty substantial. At some point Bill may wish to have more say over his voice and how this is being handled, should and will Viking offer this platform back over to Bill if asked? Seeing how the success was born out of Bill's name and kindness this seems like a reasonable request.

3. If Bill Ryan himself wanted to have the Avalon moderator team run the Facebook account, which seems like a good idea to me, would Viking allow this and hand over the account in good faith?

Whatever I post it clearly states that it was posted by the admin team which is me, Eric Janovsky.

I have had communication with Bill and he is aware I am posting material to awaken the masses.

Occasionally I will post a short sharp and to the point messages to get attention and also I post threads via here which I believe are relevant.

Yes you are correct in saying his followers have grown considerably. Let’s hope many more awaken from the slumber.

Ps the Facebook account was originally set up by Mark Holford (member here as well) which again Bill is aware of. Mark asked me to step in as he didn’t have time to run it effectively.

I have been recently following that account and thanks to Viking found a new friend in Iota. Before ever responding to anything posted there I had been reposting the page for my online friends to be aware of Project Avalon. I sent at least 1 person to PA. At least FB is good for that.

I left Facebook about 1 year ago, it was becoming awful, but we have to admit that the platform carries a lot of 'media clout' so this is an interesting use of social media, hope you convert millions of normies into Avalonians.

1. If the person has permission and makes it clear they are not the person represented in the image/profile then yes. I doubt Trump actually made any of his tweets. Regardless, this is a common practice.

2. I don't know what such a scenario may hold but to be frank (I truly don't mean to sound passive aggressive, I suck with words) it's not our problem or our business. It's between Bill and Viking.

3. I use the same answer for 3 as I used for 2.

If I were in your shoes I would have just PM'd or emailed Bill directly.

I have not signed up or ever visited this FB page but in the last few days posts from this page have shown up on my FB page. I find this unsettling as I don't post anything on my FB public page from this forum. I pretty much just post "fluff" on my page and stay away from any hardcore/current topics. So, having these posts appear on my FB has just reinforced my feelings about shutting down my FB account. This clearly shows how we are being tracked on every site we visit. I remember a period where I was buying a certain kind of popcorn all the time. I had never written about it or searched the popcorn online but all of a sudden I was seeing all sorts of ads for this popcorn on my FB page. All this leaves me feeling very squirmy.

Firstly' I'd like to thank Viking (Eric) for being such a good sport and taking on the moderation of the page. It gets very busy on the page and it can be very time-consuming. Viking is doing an amazing job. We both also try and direct people back to this forum and I believe that many have found their way here as a result of the FB page.

Initially, when the page was set up, Bill was a page admin and I think it was last year that Bill reached out to let us know that he was closing his FB account. It had been sitting dormant for many a year...

We will continue to take direction from Bill as and when it is offered but in the meantime, we operate the page as best we can whilst trying to align it and its content with this forum.

I think that is very cool! I wish Bill's youtube channel would start up again as well... A quick video about new threads and topics of interest would be nice.. I think people who are still just finding his public works from the past absolutely would join up and subscribe, to see what is going on these days!

I think it could be a good way to get ore to join in on the conversations here as well! And he may be able to make some money to help Avalon as well... LMH does shows, as well as every other person one could think of, why not? She even stars her cats Fluffy and Chocolate... Bill has Mara as a co host!
