Any of you guys been following this? Depp alone is worth the price of admission. He's hilarious on the stand, particularly while taking questions from Amber Heard's lawyer. Here's a little taste:

She's a train wreck and her counsel is lost in the sauce.
I noticed a few segments of the court online, including the clip you shared. He is low-key and cool. Very easy going. His witnesses include his security team, and they observed quite a bit over the years. I think Depp is in good shape and should win.

I think so too Jack.
Neither of them are perfectly innocent in this whole debacle, but he's much more innocent than she is. I've known women like her in my life. She's a psycho. You can see it in the eyes.
Depp is clearly a guy with some demons. He's pretty messed up. However, people will forgive you if you're messed up; they will not forgive you if you're a domestic abuser. So I totally understand why he's doing what he's doing, and I appreciate that he's doing it with a sense of humor.

Interesting perspectives from The Body Language Guy (https://www.youtube.com/c/thebodylanguageguy/videos).
3:30 - But even without sound, you might have noticed something really interesting. Whether if he's smashing the cupboards, or grabbing one of the glasses and smashing it on the kitchen sink, or kicking the kitchen countertop, every action's direction is away from Amber. Even when he tells her that nothing happened to her that morning, and points his finger at her, his whole body is pointing away. And this is something every person needs to be able to read when someone is angry. What is the general direction of their anger?
https://i.imgur.com/UaBJbvm.jpg
4:29 - “It is not one single clue to confirm that someone is not going to harm you, but once you stack enough signals, you can have a better assessment of the situation. Both the direction of Johnny's anger and the fact that he was disabling his dominant hand…”

Depp is clearly a guy with some demons. He's pretty messed up.
No wonder, because he grew up in an abusive household and learned to self-medicate it his own way. His subconscious childhood programming also made him vulnerable to such women as Amber. Some people in abusive households grow up to be abusers themselves and others become the exact opposite. They never want to inflict such pain to their children and loved ones. Is Johnny a perfect guy? Obviously not, but I can feel and always felt that he is a good man even if he has been "messed up". You were spot on about Will Smith too with your analysis. It all comes from childhood.

Yep! It is hilarious.....till you live it!
I think JD does the world a great favour for suing this trainwreck of a woman. So the whole world can see what domestic violence means and looks like.
And that a man can be victim too.
I hope there will be more awareness how devastating this emotional and physical abuse is.

Amber Heard to receive $2m. Here's hoping she does actually give it to charity like she testified that she had given $7m to charity.
Aye, It'll be a MEGA pint celebrating for Mr. D. right enough ;)
A trial of lies, damn lies, fake photos and time travelling makeup.
Glad its all over, but what a roller coaster and newsfeed filler its been :)
Dont like injustice, but glad there was a happy ending for Mr Sparrow ;)

Heard will not receive $2,000,000 from Depp. She owes him $15,000,000. After the set off of $2,000,000, she owes Depp $13,000,000.
There will likely be appeals, at least by Heard, so this may not be over. There may be a settlement on appeal in which Heard pays Depp less than $13,000,000.
Ps. And there’s always bankruptcy as a possibility and nobody pays anybody anything.

“…the truth and that she's basically spent the last several years trying to ruin Johnny Depp. Total victory for him.”
“She maliciously made up abuse claims, domestic abuse and sexual abuse claims about him. Published them in the Washington Post, and then went on to lie about them, under oath on the witness stand."
“I think she's professionally ruined for the time being. And I'm not sure whether she comes back from this even in a town that's very liberal."
“…on the side of what they presumed was the victim. The knee-jerk believe all women response from the left since the ”me too movement” got started has been a pernicious force in this country. And I think the ACLU is going to be made to suffer for that, even by some of the left who in the same way we're seeing some pushback now from many liberals who think that the crazed free speech crackdown has gone too far. I think a lot of liberals are starting to come around as they see their boyfriends or their husbands or their sons wrongly accused or thrown out…”
Megyn Kelly: ‘Amber Heard Is Unemployable Following Verdict’ (9 min)
Renowned journalist and political commentator Megyn Kelly says, 'Amber Heard is unemployable following the trial verdict.' Kelly stated that it was likely that the jury believed Heard lied about her claims and her proof didn't support them.
Kelly joined Floyd Abrams, legendary first amendment attorney and father of Law&Crime founder Dan Abrams, on his podcast Speaking Freely to talk about the Johnny Depp v. Amber Heard trial verdict.

Well, it is a little confusing.
Johnny Depp was awarded $1o million in compensatory damages and $5 million in punitive damages. In Virginia, punitive damages are capped at $35o,ooo.
So after the adjustment, and subtracting the $2 million Amber Heard was awarded [zero punitive damages]; Depp will then potentially get $8,35o,ooo. So basically, he recovers what he lost during the divorce settlement.
The problem is Amber does not have this kind of money. She let it slip in court she paid her lawyers around $6 million so far. She also pledged to the ACLU and a Children's Hospital around $7 million for a donation that has not been paid. She has perhaps $2m and no work lined up at present. Bankruptcy law in america is not what it used to be where one can just discharge excess debt and recover in about 7 years. They usually provide counselling on managing the current debt to a satisfactory conclusion. This will hang over her as a dark cloud for years to come if she doesn't get her career back on track. Current schools of thought do not agree that she will get the kind of work necessary to command this kind of income.
Depp's lawyers were excellent. Heard's lawyers were very basic. If it really cost her $6m, that's too bad because they certainly didn't earn it.
Her case was very weak. Her regular witnesses were inconsistent. Her 'expert' witnesses were pathetic. Depp's 'expert' witnesses were extremely professional. His regular witnesses were seemed honest and consistent.
No one will deny that they both are a bit of a mess.
I think it was a fair and just decision. Liars are not okay. #believeallwomen is not okay. Moderation in all forms.
-----
Edited to add. The judge ran a tight ship, there will likely be few grounds on which to appeal. One of those grounds might be that the trial was televised and streamed, but I do not think they will have much opportunity to appeal on the technical process of the trial.

Will Johnny Depp return as Jack Sparrow?
dailymail (https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10882931/Former-Disney-executive-believes-fans-Johnny-Depp-reprise-role-Jack-Sparrow.html)
'There is just too much potential box-office treasure for a beloved character deeply embedded in the Disney culture,' said a former Disney executive
The insider claimed Disney is looking to bring back 'bankable Hollywood stars in massively popular franchises'
However, Depp testified in court that he would not go back to Disney where he felt he was 'guilty until proven innocent' with executives
The actor did say, however, that he wanted to give his beloved character a 'proper goodbye'
