In Shanghai they're going door to door and killing people's pets. The Chinese are calling the shots for Western governments. This barbarism can't stand. Time to load up on ammo and get ready to die? Is it even worth living in such a world?

Nothing in this country is a surprise. They cook fish while they are alive and eat them, kill sharks only for their fins, all the medicinal crap they use and kill entire animals for their feet or tail. China has some great achievements, there treatment and consuming of animals is not one of them. And this beating dogs to death and locking up their citizens , they have just reached another low as a human species in my eyes, they truly suck now.

When people are hungry history has shown people can be tempted to eat their pets. I don't believe I would cross this line, but it is famous. Is that one of the reasons it's being done? I know I have a very jaded perspective here, but I'm trying to fill in the gaps after assuming this is NOT happening for the reasons those authorities say, but instead have been done in bad faith. Is it the brutality of the policy that is attractive to those authorities? Or is it that there is some reassurance from the sacrifice (misplaced)? Or an unhappy combination of a multitude of motivations. The whole thing lingers in the gut as an implied threat

The sorrow I felt losing my pets (like 2 dogs, 4 cats last 40 years) is sometimes much deeper and more intense than losing human loved ones / dead relatives ...

When my cat was poisoned in 2007 and died at the age of 7 years young ... was the ultimate trigger for me to become depressed for a long time along with other hardships I had to face that year.

If I have to face corrupt government handlers killing my pets based upon provable scaremonger hysteria .... I really would freak out and do not know what I could do at that moment ... and what I plan to do next ... to find a form of justice.

I would not care to die for making a statement before I leave this totally fcked up planet.


Let's hope it does not come to that.

There are several Dystopian (SF) Movies where you see that the owner of a pet gives food even if he or she hungry him/herself ... same for homeless people (https://petsofthehomeless.org) who need to feed their pet ... same analogy ... The connection you have with another sentient being is 1000 times stronger than anything else as it may be the last dignity you possess in something that is spiritual. If you step over that line you face the ultimate shallowness/emptiness.

I've noticed that pets are not discussed regarding the Great New Utopia (sarcasm) that is planned for us all...

Something similar is in a way already happening.

On some anti-government protests in Belgrade, Serbia, "our" government have payed and brought some people from Albania who hate Serbs to beat the protestors.

They gave them unmarked police uniforms and equipment and let them beat people.

I honestly believe that many of those people would even come and do it for free. Imagine that, you get a chance to beat up the people that you hate, in their own capitol, without any possible consequences.

I'm with you on that with regard to avatar cat. I have noticed that insect pet food is now on sale for pets - their gross Frankenstein food is now being extended to animals, there's no way I'm buying that. Mind you, she did catch and eat a fly the other day...

Does anyone remember the first Planet of the Apes film? It starts with a view of a monument to pet dogs and cats that were wiped out from Earth by a virus. I sure hope that wasn't predictive programming. You can bet that the elite won't be parted from their pets though.
