As the world crumbles around us it's easy, sometimes, to miss the good in others, and sometimes forget it in ourselves. The trappings of modern society has laid fertile soil for selfishness to flourish, and apathy - a sort of ignore/disregard/tune-out approach as we walk our way through life. It's a method of self-defence as the world spirals and the problems become more and more overwhelming. I certainly get that. But light persists in the darkness, and it's shining everywhere if you look.

I thought a thread in this vein was apt right now. There are many positively-orientated threads of course, but I thought we should have a dedicated place for folk to post stories, personal experiences, pictures, videos, or whatever, that restore our faith in humanity.

This short vid is a good start. (43 secs)

I think it ought to be mentioned that many of those that contribute to restoring faith in humanity do so deliberately without any notice or recognition.

Do something good for someone, they will tell 3 people. Do something bad to someone, they will tell 3o people.

Much of the light does indeed take place in darkness. It's usually for the right reasons, than the wrong ones.

There’s a bulletin board at the grocery store with the latest photo of the "Associate of the Month”.

Last Friday, I congratulated Kimberly G. She thanked me in a whispered voice and covered her mouth. Tears filled her eyes. I smiled and nodded, then wished her a good day.

Some of my favorite people in the world work in Drs offices and are kind beyond words. Yesterday I called to make an appointment for my husband at a new Dr he was referred to. Erika, in a very thorough manner, took our information and assured me we would be able to get in within a week or so, not something that happens every day. She got information to access his hospital chart, assuring me they would have his information when we came for the appointment. Then she explained how the Physicians Assistant would see him first, then he would see the Dr.
They are across the street from the hospital where Ron had a most neglectful, inadequate hospital stay just over a month ago. Her empathy and caring was like a balm and I told her how much it meant. Faith in humanity restored!
