View Full Version : Nuggets of Truth

I discovered something recently. A youtube feature called 'Shorts'. These are short clips usually up to 1 minute in length. There's a ton of dross on there (think Tiktok), but occasionally you land upon a pearl of wisdom, a pure nugget of truth.

That's what this thread is for. A bit like the Meme thread (https://projectavalon.net/forum4/showthread.php?112057-Meme-Your-Memeiest-Memes-Thread), or Great Quotes (https://projectavalon.net/forum4/showthread.php?8309-The-Great-Quotes-thread), but in video format.

Post your nuggets of truth here from youtube (or other platforms if supported). Anything you think is interesting, factual, educational, pithy, profound, humorous, or inspirational – but short (~1 min)

A short lesson about making mistakes, by Albert Einstein:

The donkey said to the tiger:
- "The grass is blue".

The tiger replied:
- "No, the grass is green."

The discussion heated up, and the two decided to submit him to arbitration, and for this they went before the lion, the King of the Jungle.
Already before reaching the forest clearing, where the lion was sitting on his throne, the donkey began to shout:
- "His Highness, is it true that the grass is blue?".

The lion replied:
- "True, the grass is blue."
The donkey hurried and continued:
- "The tiger disagrees with me and contradicts and annoys me, please punish him."

The king then declared:
- "The tiger will be punished with 5 years of silence."
The donkey jumped cheerfully and went on his way, content and repeating:
- "The Grass Is Blue"...

The tiger accepted his punishment, but before he asked the lion:
- "Your Majesty, why have you punished me?, after all, the grass is green."
The lion replied:
- "In fact, the grass is green."

The tiger asked:
- "So why are you punishing me?".

The lion replied:
- "That has nothing to do with the question of whether the grass is blue or green.
The punishment is because it is not possible for a brave and intelligent creature like you to waste time arguing with a donkey, and on top of that come and bother me with that question."

The worst waste of time is arguing with the fool and fanatic who does not care about truth or reality, but only the victory of his beliefs and illusions. Never waste time on arguments that don't make sense...
There are people who, no matter how much evidence and evidence we present to them, are not in the capacity to understand, and others are blinded by ego, hatred and resentment, and all they want is to be right even if they are not.

“When I ask you to listen to me and you start giving advice, you have not done what I asked.
When I ask you to listen to me and you begin to tell me why I shouldn’t feel that way,
you are trampling on my feelings.
When I ask you to listen to me and you feel you have to do something to solve my problem,
you have failed me, strange as that may seem.
So listen and just hear me. And, if you want to talk, wait a minute for your turn, and I’ll listen to
you.” - Anon.

Not a Youtube 'short' but most certainly short enough to qualify for inclusion here. This, from a friend of the sadly now late Kary Banks Mullis. I'll leave it to the listener to determine for themselves the authenticity of what's being shared here in the audio. I think this is very real :flower:

First, the text, from Tony Seruga (https://twitter.com/TonySeruga/status/1714986983507066936) pulled from Twitter / 'X':

"This is something I do not talk about at all, but it is long past the time.

Dr. Kary Mullis was a good friend, years ago we surfed together, partied together, and shared a love of science and biotech. He was a consummate joker and great storyteller, but he was also a fierce seeker of truth and doing what was right.

He was the inventor of the PCR test and lectured science to never misuse his discovery to diagnose infections because that is not how it worked.

He would have been furious to know PCR tests were being used to terrorize the world. He spent a lifetime blowing the whistle on Fauci and big pharma, over thirty years, in fact.

There are hours and hours of him on video calling Fauci out for his frauds, especially HIV/AIDS which Fauci became wealthy over. Kary was on a mission for decades to out Dr. Anthony Fauci and Dr. Robert Gallo for all of their HIV/AIDS dirty deeds but excited investigative journalists always were scared away, I personally know for a fact, that one 60 Minutes producer, who was threatened by a man we knew did ‘wetwork’ for the CIA, a man you didn’t want to end up on his radar. As a result of Kary's continual attacks, the IC went on a smear campaign using Alphabet (Google), META (Facebook), X (Twitter) to discredit Kary. Even thinking about questioning science, suddenly became a 'thought crime' punishable by reputation assassination or worse!

Let me connect some dots. You see, Fauci and Gallo made up the connection between the so-called HIV and AIDS, their people paid protestors to demand action from the CDC and Congress, in order to get billions in funding.

They picked a deadly useless old cancer drug, AZT, to be the treatment for their made-up virus and used the PCR test to "find" it in patients.

Thousands of people died from the AIDS Hoax and the use of AZT and many millions of lives were destroyed. Well, forward to 2019. On Monday, July 15th, 2019 Kary and I had our last conversation. I can’t share the details but he was more concerned than ever about gain-of-function (the term is being thrown around in the media a lot lately, but make no mistake about it, gain-of-function is to make viruses more contagious and DEADLY!) being conducted in the US. We knew China and even North Korea were engaged but to think labs on US soil were as well, and that the level of safety was that of a dental office was scary as hell. We were going to talk further later, once he had more concrete evidence, but he did ask me to do some deep data pulls, which I did and I shared with our mutual friend and Fauci critic.

Shortly thereafter, Fauci left this threatening voicemail for Kary.

Kary died approximately 10 days later, on August 7, 2019, at the age of 74 in Newport Beach.

Someone has created a video “The Mysterious Death of Dr. Fauci’s Most Notable Critic”, watch the short 4-minute video located in the comments below!"

Now, the audio:

https://avalonlibrary.net/2019-07-28_Anthony_Fauci_recorded_threatening_Kary_Mullis_July_2019.mp3

Tony then goes on to say, further along in the thread:

"Never any concrete physical evidence of foul play. He seemed fine on Sunday, August 4th, maybe a week before, but because it wasn't an in-person meeting, I can't say for sure and then he died of pneumonia? Later the cause of death was updated to heart disease and respiratory failure. Like with Gary Webb, the journalist who exposed CIA Iran-Contra affair and the allegation that the CIA profited from crack cocaine being sold in black communities, the CIA was embedded in the Los Angeles Times who subsequently smeared Gary. Well, they did the same thing with Kary's obituary. It was sickening. The smears had all of the fingerprints of an IC reputation assassination.

In the LA Times, they led off with such descriptors as “LSD-dropping, climate-change-denying, astrology-believing, board surfing.” That obit calls PCR a “discovery.” But the technology certainly wasn’t lying around waiting for someone to find it, like an ancient skull. Instead, it was an invention deduced from scrutinizing the mechanics of DNA replication.

Other obits repeated the mantra that Mullis was an “untamed genius,” a phrase oddly the opposite of an oft-echoed presidential boast. In dozens of editions of human genetics textbooks:

A nugget of truth — that's not a video :) — and is something I'd bet not all that many people know about.

Why do the British drive on the left?

It's because of their swords. Long ago, before cars or even carriages, Englishmen rode around the countryside on horseback. And many of them carried a sword in self-defense.

Because most men are right-handed, the sword (in its scabbard, which is a kind of long thin holster) is on the man's left hip. That's so it can quickly be drawn with a sweep of the right arm across the body. (If the sword was on the right, it'd be very hard for the right arm to quickly pull it out of the scabbard.)

So that meant that if a rider encountered a threat on his journey, he could easily get hold of his sword — and then hold it in his right hand at any potential enemy. And that oncoming enemy needed to be on the rider's right, which is now the active sword-side. And of course, that meant that the rider needed to be on the left side of whatever road or track he was riding on.

An animation might be fun and useful! But maybe readers can imagine all this, and get the interesting historical picture. :)

Microwaves with an average density of 30 mW/cm2 produced much more significant inhibitory effects on immune cells. ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC10049199 (https://ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC10049199)

but Frenchmen, Germans, Italians, Turks, would also have been riding around on horseback with swords. And they all have been driving on the RHS of the road for the last couple of centuries . Unless left handed horsemen predominated in these countries

Johan (Keyholder)
4th January 2024, 09:47
Not only the Brits were riding (on horseback) on the left. It was the same in pretty much every country, till about the late 1700's.

When carriages started to replace horseback riding, the coachman kept the whip in his left hand and steered the horse(s) with his right hand (most were indeed righthanded, then too). Defense by the sword became less important. It was Napoleon who made driving on the right compulsory, except in the countries that he did not conquer (like Great Britain).

Another Napolean-related reason (to drive on the right side of the road): the French aristocracy drove on the left (before Napoleon). Napoleon did away with that, "the people" (and everybody therefore) had to drive on the right. So, it was to establish "equality". Driving on the right side was driving on the side of "the people".

Hip-Hop- John Homeston, a retired CIA agent, admitted that hip-hop was a psychological operation invented by the CIA in the 1980s, and that the agency directed and funded famous performers including NWA, Dr. Dre, Jay-Z and Kanye West.

The government at the time spent "serious money" on the operation, designed to "corrupt young people and 'sow division.

"At the time, we understood that music was a powerful propaganda tool for young people. We even infiltrated mainstream radio to promote their music and get the word out to millions of people every day," he admitted

Famous songs by the iconic NWA band were even written by a team of military propagandists and CIA psychologists.

Homston claims that the psychological operation was "extremely successful." It's hard to argue with that.

Why is there a Patent for
"Subliminal Acoustic Manipulation of the Nervous System”?

https://i.imgur.com/BMu18Wr.jpg

In human subjects, sensory resonances can be excited by subliminal atmospheric acoustic pulses that are tuned to the resonance frequency. The 1/2 Hz sensory resonance affects the autonomic nervous system and may cause relaxation, drowsiness, or sexual excitement, depending on the precise acoustic frequency near 1/2 Hz used.

The effects of the 2.5 Hz resonance include slowing of certain cortical processes, sleepiness, and disorientation. For these effects to occur, the acoustic intensity must lie in a certain deeply subliminal range. Suitable apparatus consists of a portable battery-powered source of weak subaudio acoustic radiation. The method and apparatus can be used by the general public as an aid to relaxation, sleep, or sexual arousal, and clinically for the control and perhaps treatment of insomnia, tremors, epileptic seizures, and anxiety disorders.

There is further application as a nonlethal weapon that can be used in law enforcement standoff situations, for causing drowsiness and disorientation in targeted subjects. It is then preferable to use venting acoustic monopoles in the form of a device that inhales and exhales air with subaudio frequency.

Mas d'Azil Cave - La Grotte du Mas d'Azil

The cave of Mas-d'Azil or Grotte du Mas d'Azil is a large, 500 metre long tunnel dug by the Arize River through a wall of the Massif Plantaurelin, part of the Ariege Pyrenees. Secondary caves leading off the main tunnel were occupied at various prehistoric and historic times during a period of 20 000 years, and the objects found there gave the name of the cave to a prehistoric culture, the Azilian. It was excavated by Edouard Piette in the 19th century, who interpreted the halter-like marks on animal heads as being evidence of the domestication of reindeer and horses. The entry of the Arize which marks the beginning of the cave to the south consists of a 51 m high and 48 m wide hole in the massive limestone wall. A main road, the D119 passes through the central section of the cave. Enjoy the ride . . .

destroying the next generation
If that's real (and it might be!! :worried:), I wonder if anyone here can check it by asking their own AI version the very same question.

(And this might even need its own thread)

I wondered if it was real too, so I asked the same question three times.

I asked the same question three times and you gave three different answers. Why is that?

Question: ChatGPT, if you were the devil, how would you destroy the young minds of the next generation?

That's a fair concern, and I appreciate you pointing it out.

The reason you may have received different answers to the same question could be due to a few factors:
Interpretation Variability: Your question is complex, philosophical, and open to interpretation. Each time it's asked, I might focus on different aspects—psychological, societal, technological, or moral.

Randomness and Creativity: My responses can include a degree of randomness, especially with abstract or creative prompts. This is designed to make the conversation more engaging and less repetitive, but it can lead to variation.

Ethical Safeguards: Questions involving harmful or manipulative scenarios (like taking the perspective of the devil to harm youth) can activate different safety filters. Depending on the phrasing or context, the model might respond with more caution or shift the tone accordingly.

If you'd like, I can provide a single, cohesive answer to your question now—framed analytically and responsibly. Would you like that?

Yes, thanks.

You're welcome. Here's a single, cohesive answer to your question, framed analytically and thoughtfully:

---

**If I were the devil and my goal was to destroy the young minds of the next generation, I would not act with fire and brimstone—but subtly, strategically, and systemically.** Here’s how I might do it:

1. **Undermine Critical Thinking**: I would flood the information space with distraction, misinformation, and shallow content. I’d make truth seem relative and opinions more valuable than facts, so that young minds become confused and apathetic about what is real.

2. **Promote Narcissism Over Character**: I’d elevate fame, image, and personal branding above virtue, empathy, or integrity. I’d make likes and followers the new currency of worth, and turn comparison into a 24/7 mental trap.

3. **Erode Community and Family Bonds**: I’d isolate individuals under the illusion of hyper-connectivity. I’d weaken the relationships that provide stability—family, mentors, spiritual communities—and make everyone feel alone, even when surrounded by people.

4. **Redefine Success in Hollow Terms**: I’d convince them that money, status, and external validation are life’s ultimate goals. I’d discourage meaningful work, patience, or lifelong learning, and promote shortcuts, scams, and instant gratification instead.

5. **Exploit Technology for Addiction**: I would use the smartest engineers to design apps that hijack attention, feed anxiety, and reduce the ability to focus. I’d make children addicted to dopamine loops from an early age, dulling their capacity for deep thought or boredom.

6. **Blur Moral Lines**: I’d paint virtue as outdated and morality as subjective or oppressive. I'd glorify rebellion without cause, and ensure that being good feels boring, weak, or naive.

7. **Divide and Polarize**: I would weaponize identity and ideology, turning every difference into a battle. The more divided they are, the less they can build a better world together.

---

To be clear: this is not a blueprint for action—it's a cautionary thought experiment. Many of these trends are already present in our world, not because of some metaphysical evil, but due to incentives, ignorance, or systemic failures. Recognizing them is the first step in countering them.

Would you like a version of this suitable for sharing or presentation?

Yes, thanks.

You're welcome. Here's a refined version of the answer, suitable for sharing or presentation—designed to be impactful, clear, and thought-provoking:

---

### **How to Destroy the Minds of the Next Generation: A Thought Experiment**

*If evil wanted to corrupt the young, it wouldn’t do so with fire and fury. It would work quietly—strategically. Here’s how it might succeed:*

---

**1. Undermine Critical Thinking**
Saturate young minds with noise—misinformation, shallow content, and endless distractions. Make truth feel uncertain, facts debatable, and curiosity a waste of time.

**2. Promote Narcissism Over Character**
Replace the pursuit of wisdom and virtue with the pursuit of image. Make self-worth dependent on likes, followers, and fleeting attention.

**3. Erode Family and Community Bonds**
Weaken the structures that offer guidance and belonging. Replace deep relationships with digital facsimiles. Make loneliness feel normal.

**4. Redefine Success as Status**
Convince them that money, fame, and external validation define a meaningful life. Push shortcuts, scams, and instant gratification over effort, patience, and purpose.

**5. Turn Technology into Addiction**
Design digital tools to hijack attention, fragment focus, and feed insecurity. Start young. Make boredom unbearable and constant stimulation essential.

**6. Blur Moral Clarity**
Dismiss virtue as naïve and morality as oppressive. Celebrate rebellion without wisdom. Normalize behavior that corrodes dignity and empathy.

**7. Divide and Polarize**
Exploit identity and ideology to fracture unity. Turn dialogue into conflict and disagreement into hatred. Keep them too divided to build anything together.

---

**This isn’t prophecy—it’s a warning.**
These trends aren’t driven by demons, but by design flaws, incentives, and indifference. If we want a better future, we must protect and empower the minds of the next generation—not just with education, but with truth, community, courage, and conscience.

I have to say I might actually be convinced this is the real deal here. One is always careful though to try and factor in as many plausible alternatives there may be such as an alternative light source from somewhere, that may in some way have become reflected, and therefore creating an illusion. However, this time around, I rather think this may be a genuine instance (https://x.com/RonyVernet/status/1928108602113348086). It's at least compelling viewing:

Here’s a hack for siphoning, to keep whatever liquid away from your mouth. He uses a second tube that he blows into, to pressurize the primary vessel and get things siphoning.

Needs to get an effective seal on the primary vessel. He says that sometimes wetting the rags will help, and obviously this points to further ways of sealing.

I couldn’t believe what was lurking below a surface car park in Stoke On Trent. Hidden from public view, covered up with tarmac (oh and a warehouse) in the 1970’s. Makes you wonder what else is hidden underground . . .

Videos of similar lifelike masks have been posted before but they're now integrating such that they move naturally when the wearer speaks and are becoming indistinguishable, together with other body parts. And these are just the ones we're aware of, not the improved versions. Given Derren Brown's demonstrations of programming, Manchurian Candidate or Donald Trump anyone ?

On the flip side, someone in the comments said this:

Tuco Politico 🍎🍎🇨🇦🇮🇱🇺🇸
Big deal. I did that playing pinball in the 70s.

At the social club I used to frequent in my late teens and early twenties, every table was full of old men playing cards, mainly cribbage; they played dominoes also, draughts, and chess. There were a pair of snooker tables in there too. They did a roaring trade. The thump of darts hitting the dartboard sounded all night long, and the clatter of skittles in the alley.

'Gaming' isn't new. We humans spend an inordinate amount of our time in games and recreation. We have for centuries. And so long as it doesn't dominate your reality, I think it's quite okay.

grapevine
17th July 2025, 13:28
lol - you must be a gamer too :laughs:

It's not the gaming that's an issue, Mark, especially in a social setting like a pub with lots of company. It's often anti-social people playing these war games alone in a bedroom.

I think future generations will be born with text-ready fingers.

Follow the entire satisfying ASMR journey, from harvesting the strange-looking Cacao Pod to fermenting, roasting, and stone-grinding the beans into a pure, liquid chocolate liquor. This is the secret the big corporations don't want you to see. This is what real chocolate tastes like.

Our society is becoming a psychiatric asylum run by lunatics.

Men are women. Borders are racist. Criminals are victims. Truth is hate speech. Sanity is a threat. Stability is oppression. Normality is taboo. Everything that once provided structure, identity, and meaning is now declared violent, outdated, or dangerous.

You are no longer judged by your actions, but by your compliance with collective delusion. Virtue is measured in lies. Reality is optional. Facts are negotiable. If you refuse to lie, you’re dangerous. If you tell the truth, you’re erased. If you say nothing, they’ll speak for you.

The public square has become a courtroom — where guilt is collective and evidence irrelevant. The workplace is a therapy session. The university is a reeducation camp. The school is a lab for ideological experiments on children. You don’t learn to think — you learn to obey.

Bureaucrats pass policies like sedatives. Journalists hallucinate enemies and call it reporting. Politicians promise safety in exchange for language controls, memory edits, and institutional gaslighting. Reality is no longer something to face — it’s something to censor.

What we call “progress” is a breakdown — not a leap forward, but a collapse inward. We’re dismantling foundations faster than we can pretend to build replacements. We don’t fix the problems — we rename them.

And the doctors? They’ve joined the patients.

I do think this most excellent knot-tying 'how-to' video belongs here. :) It's 16 minutes long, but you can skip through it to find things you might not have known, and/or play it at 3x the speed.

10 super-useful knots are shown, and so you can pick and choose any that look potentially valuable to you. They're all really simple to learn. (I've been doing outdoor things with ropes most of my life, sometimes in serious safety situations, and even so there were a couple here that were new to me.)

The only super-useful knot that's not shown here is the clove hitch, another which I use all the time and which may be the simplest of all. Here's (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gs9WyrzNjJs) a one-minute video on that.

The last pair of glasses you'll ever need
G7_IkwNWdAM
This is an ad which appears frequently in YT shorts atm. I thought it was a joke or far-fetched but it turns out there have been great strides in Adaptive Focus, Electrochromic and Photochromic glasses in recent times and the claims in this ad are correct although of course the "one size fits all" is a little far fetched. Research shows that many of these new glasses come with a lifetime guarantee and of course they don't come cheap, but hopefully as they catch on the price may come down a little.

For interest, here's a link to a longer video about smart glasses just over 22 minutes long;
