Greetings
I have a different perspective than most when it comes to PRAYER..
I, daily, pay my respects to CREATOR... the eternal infinite consciousness...sending my love and gratitude..to be part of IT...an individuated aspect of the thought that created all that is..
.I don't ask for anything..(that always seemed insulting , obnoxious and presumptous to ask God to put my desires ahead of ITS plan...)
BUT IF I DID ...
I'd ask for a behavior change in humanity...
that IT would stop us....
from hating each other...(religions?)
from hurting each other...(politics?)
from poisoning each other...(medicine?)
from stealing from each other (business?)
from denying each other (government?)
Maybe I'll send this prayer out...
to the ones that could put an end to this madness..

You've got it in a nutshell. It's not Creator's job to wake us up. It's US. Only when we've had enough of the pain that our behaviour causes, will we call a halt. By all means, express gratitude for what we individually have, that's a very powerful prayer, and really all we need to do. I do this whenever I'm out in my garden/nature, with friends....it goes a long long way.

Totally agree, I pray daily and put a lot of thankfulness in there, too.
Our world needs to stop and realize what we are doing to each other and mother earth.
