Speech held by the great Victor Hugo at the Paris Peace Congress some 170 years ago about his vision of the United States of Europe:

“A day will come when your arms will fall from your hands! A day will come when war will seem as absurd between Paris and London, between Petersburg and Berlin, between Vienna and Turin, as it would today between Rouen and Amiens or between Boston and Philadelphia. A day will come when you — France, Russia, Italy, England, Germany — all you nations of the continent will merge, without losing your distinct qualities and your glorious individuality, in a close and higher unity to form a European brotherhood, just as Normandy, Brittany, Burgundy, Lorraine, Alsace, all our provinces are merged together in France.”

He goes on to say:
“A day will come when we shall see those two immense groups, the United States of America and the United States of Europe, stretching out their hands across the sea, exchanging their products, their arts, their works of genius […] And to bring about that day will not take another 400 years, for we are living in a fast-moving age.”

To some degree this has come to pass, but our ambition of unity must not stop here. We must, I feel, strive to create The United States of Mankind - a global state that embraces the entire human family in peaceful harmony. That, however, is my dream...

I could not agree more, what he was talking about is a day that war itself would have seemed completely absurd. He was talking about living in a time if a leader even mildly suggested war as a viable solution to a problem he or she would be instantly ostracised from society. When a leader suggests war it should be considered as abhorrent as if he or she is suggesting that we go back to slavery. It should become so foreign to our vocabulary that most people would be confused by the suggestion.

There will be a day when violence and blood sports are a thing of the past. There will be a day when mankind fully understands and families teach altruism. There will be a day when invention and true science are memorialized and memories of war are relegated to the distant past.

The elimination of regional and global conflicts will be the starting point of unleashing mankind's true potential. This will be the day that our entrance into the greater universe is secured.

As you say rgray, any suggestion of a nation going to war should be considered as conspiracy to commit murder, and those leaders treated as criminals by the rest of us.

Many unfortunately do not see that the political experiment called the 'European Union' was at its onset hijacked by deep state actors. Bring nations and peoples together? It's done more to divide and conquer it. So long as the globalists are in charge of Europe, and so long as it's operated by the unelected bureaucrats beneath them, it won't get close to Victor Hugo's vision.

Yes, many people fail to understand that it was two world wars intentionally started within 25 years (1914 & 1939) of each other that proved the genesis for the EU.
