I met Michael Thomas Case in a comment thread where he shared some incredible snippets of a story from his youth. A story in which he nourished a years long friendship with a Wild Boy, or Sasquatch, in the hills and hollows of Southeastern Kentucky. Thomas was terminally ill and had been placed in hospice care. Shortly after I befriended him, he posted on his Facebook profile that he was looking for someone to edit his story for him. At the time, I was unaware of the depth of his condition and I asked him to do a "Sasquatch Encounters with Ed Brown" interview for my YouTube channel. He agreed to do it once his voice was better. Then it was a month and a half before I heard from him again. This time what I received was an apology for not being able to talk, and this incredible story which was relayed to me via messenger. The apology, of course, was absolutely not needed.

I'm so honored to have the opportunity to bring you this amazing story. Thomas claimed that every word of it was true. My last contact was through his sister on his messenger and she said that he would dictate the rest of the story and draw a couple illustrations and she would get them to me. That was the last time I heard from Michael or anyone from his family. I posted the edited story on his timeline a couple days later and never got a response. I tried to tell this story in his exact words and details, as much as possible through the edit. Michael was a true Southern Gentleman with an infectious country charm. I truly hope that I captured that charm and didn’t anesthetize it through the edit. Keep in mind the circumstances surrounding his telling of this account as he literally lay on his death bed. Actually, I don't think that either of them are what I had READ, in text.

Some more info: What I had read had a reproduction of the SKETCHES that one of the contributors had made of the creature. Hmmm, farm fields, corn, barn, yard, picnic type table. The parents of the young sasquatch were also involved, IIRC.

You see, I had an encounter (audio only)... and a chat with one of the USFS investigators (shhhh, it's a secret) while out in the wilderness. I am attempting to write a cohesive piece. 1997 audio; 2008 chat... two separate wilderness areas.

As I said, I am writing about my experience(s) with the subject.

I've been around the track a few laps, and have been in the real big deep high (U.S.) wilderness - Wrangell-StElias, The Bob, Frank Church, Beartooth-Absaroka, Deep in the Winds and my favorite: the High Uintas. Anyway, I decided to ask ChatGPT what it thought on the matter.

Since I have actual human names and government entities by credentials, location and date at hand, it didn't take too long, and not unexpectedly for it to devolve into nearly every "statement" being qualified by "consensus science says" - laughable. However, it did acknowledge the few people that I mentioned (loosely from academia and field contract) - how could it not - that would be blatant lying. As others have reported elsewhere, the denial of access to widespread (and current) BigData seems disingenuous at best. Ultimately, no substantive information revealed (or confirmed) - shocking, I know.
