Finally, Capitol Hill is no longer able to ignore the mountain of evidence against the Biden family. Will they take real action or just do a pretend investigation that allows them to put on a dog and pony show.

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy announces formal impeachment inquiry against President Biden
McCarthy listed allegations of 'abuse of power, obstruction and corruption' by House panels

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy on Tuesday said House Republicans have "uncovered serious and credible allegations into President Biden's conduct" that will serve as the basis of an impeachment inquiry.

"Today, I am directing our House committees to open a formal impeachment inquiry into President Joe," McCarthy announced in a statement at the Capitol Tuesday. "This logical next step will give our committees the full power to gather all the facts and answers for the American public."

The speaker said House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer, R-Ky., will lead the inquiry in coordination with House Oversight Committee Chairman Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, and Ways & Means Committee Chairman Jason Smith, R-Mo.

McCarthy spoke for only roughly three minutes and did not take questions from reporters. He made no mention of holding a floor vote before opening the impeachment inquiry, despite telling Breitbart earlier this month it would happen "through a vote on the floor of the People’s House and not through a declaration by one person."

He listed allegations of "abuse of power, obstruction and corruption" made against Biden by several GOP-led committees who have been investigating the president.

"Through our investigations, we have found that President Biden did lie to the American people about his own knowledge of his family's foreign business dealings. Eyewitnesses have testified that the president joined on multiple phone calls and had multiple interactions, dinners resulted in cars and millions of dollars into his sons and his son's business partners," McCarthy said.

"We know that bank records show that nearly $20 million in payments were directed to the Biden family members and associates through various Shell companies. The Treasury Department alone has more than 150 transactions involving the Biden family. Another business associates that were flagged as suspicious activity by U.S. banks. Even a trusted FBI informant has alleged a bribe to the Biden family. Biden used his official office to coordinate with Hunter Biden's business partners about Hunter's role in Burisma, the Ukrainian energy company," he continued.

He concluded, "Finally, despite these serious allegations, it appears that the president's family has been offered special treatment by Biden's own administration. Treatment that not otherwise would have received if they were not related to the president. These are allegations of abuse of power, obstruction and corruption, and they want further investigation by the House of Representatives."

Earlier, Fox News confirmed that McCarthy will tell House Republicans today that beginning an impeachment inquiry against Biden is the "logical next step" for their investigations. An inquiry is the first step of the impeachment process, where evidence is gathered for the articles, or charges, of impeachment against an official.

The House GOP conference plans to hold a meeting on Thursday morning for key committee chairs to lay out their latest findings and the status of the investigations into the Biden family. The chairs of the committees overseeing the inquiry will brief rank-and-file lawmakers.

In a statement responding to McCarthy's announcement, White House spokesman for oversight and investigations Ian Sams blasted the effort as politically motivated.

"House Republicans have been investigating the President for 9 months, and they've turned up no evidence of wrongdoing. His own GOP members have said so. He vowed to hold a vote to open impeachment, now he flip flopped because he doesn't have support. Extreme politics at its worst," Sams wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

Sources first told Fox News Digital in August that McCarthy planned to open an impeachment inquiry this month. There had been debate at the time over whether to first hold a floor vote in a show of GOP unity.

A House vote is not necessary to open an impeachment inquiry, but McCarthy had criticized former Speaker Nancy Pelosi for launching one into former President Donald Trump before formalizing it on the chamber floor.

Any truth to the rumor that Joe Biden died over a year ago?
Will they go ahead with the process of impeaching him until the right time
to have him die comes around?

We must be living in the age of deception.

Interesting to compare the New York Times (liberal mind control) story on the impeachment with the Fox News (conservative mind control) version. Per the NY Times (article below)

the only impetus for this investigation is just a few "far right" Republicans, that are threatening to oust Kevin McCarthy if he doesn't support the investigation. The article does not mention even one name of these alleged "far right" politicians.

the Republicans have been investigating Biden for months and haven't really found any proof that Biden has done anything wrong.

when Clinton was impeached and with Trumps first impeachment, the house called for a vote as to whether to investigate. No vote was called for Trumps second impeachment, presumably because this was decided upon in the last two weeks of his term and there was no time. But no vote was taken this time around to investigate Biden, and the NY Times suggests that Republican votes really aren't there.

This makes zero sense. If there were no damning evidence against Biden, then yes, McCarthy would not want to pursue an impeachment investigation and embarrass his party by turning up empty handed after an investigation. If an obnoxious segment of his party were still pushing for impeachment and McCarthy didn't want to anger them, all he would have to do is say "sure, let's have a vote on this."

If you want to know what's going on, then read the New York Times. But don't read it literally - look for the lie and based on that, figure out what truth they are attempting to cover up.

And the truth is that most Republican do not want to go on record as to whether or not they support an impeachment investigation or not. On the one hand, they are trying to foster the belief in their constituents that they take Biden's crimes seriously, and that they are doing something about it. On the other hand they are trying to please their globalist warmongering overlords, by supporting the Ukraine War and the Biden Administration, and by working at all costs to keep Trump from reentering the White House.

McCarthy, Under Threat From Right, Orders Biden Impeachment Inquiry
The move against President Biden, which Speaker Kevin McCarthy had been signaling for weeks, comes as some far-right House Republicans are irate over spending and threatening to depose him.

Reporting from Washington
Sept. 12, 2023Updated 1:37 p.m. ET

Speaker Kevin McCarthy on Tuesday directed top congressional Republicans to open an impeachment inquiry into President Biden, blowing past G.O.P. divisions as he worked to appease far-right lawmakers who have threatened to oust him amid a pitched fight over spending.

Mr. McCarthy said he would task three committees — Oversight, Judiciary and Ways and Means — with carrying out the inquiry into the president and his family as Republicans hunt for evidence of financial wrongdoing or corruption.

“Today I am directing our House committees to open a formal impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden,” Mr. McCarthy told reporters gathered outside his office at the Capitol.

Mr. McCarthy has signaled for weeks that he supports an impeachment inquiry of the president to give congressional investigators more power to dig into Mr. Biden’s family finances. Starting such an inquiry means that Republicans no longer must justify their investigation as part of their legislative work, Mr. McCarthy’s allies have said.

But Tuesday’s move was a break with the past and a major change in strategy for Mr. McCarthy, who previously indicated that he believed the full House should vote on whether to move forward with an impeachment inquiry. Two presidential impeachment inquiries in modern history, of Bill Clinton in 1998 and Donald J. Trump in 2019, were opened with a vote of the full House. The House subsequently impeached Mr. Trump a second time in 2021 without an inquiry, just days after the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol.

The apparent decision not to seek a vote was a tacit acknowledgment by Mr. McCarthy that he lacks the numbers to do so amid G.O.P. divisions. Several Republicans, including those from districts Mr. Biden won, have indicated they did not support an impeachment inquiry unless investigators could tie the business dealings of Hunter Biden, the president’s son who engaged in transactions with overseas firms, to his father, or uncover evidence of high crimes and misdemeanors.

After months of digging, Republicans have found no such proof, though they argue they have received enough information to warrant more investigation.

In brief remarks at the Capitol, Mr. McCarthy accused Mr. Biden of lying about his knowledge of his son’s business dealings, and he raised questions about the millions Hunter Biden and other family members made from overseas firms. Mr. McCarthy also accused the Biden administration of giving his son Hunter “special treatment” in a criminal tax investigation against him.

“House Republicans have uncovered serious and credible allegations into President Biden’s conduct,” Mr. McCarthy said. “Taken together, these allegations paint a picture of a culture of corruption.”

Mr. McCarthy’s announcement appeared to clear the way for House investigators to issue subpoenas for the bank records of Mr. Biden and his family members. It came as Mr. McCarthy is under intense pressure from his right flank.

In a statement posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, Ian Sams, a White House spokesman, rebuked the speaker for engaging in what he called “extreme politics at its worst.”

“House Republicans have been investigating the President for 9 months, and they’ve turned up no evidence of wrongdoing,” Mr. Sams wrote. “His own GOP members have said so. He vowed to hold a vote to open impeachment, now he flip flopped because he doesn’t have support.”

Nor did Mr. McCarthy’s announcement quell critics in his own party, who accused him of making the announcement simply because he was worried he was on the brink of losing power. Representative Matt Gaetz, a Florida Republican and frequent critic of the speaker, said that Mr. McCarthy’s talk of impeachment so far has been a “slow boat to China.”

He added that if Mr. McCarthy were “serious about holding the Biden crime family accountable, we wouldn’t have some rushed, rattled statement; we would have a subpoena strategy that would reflect seriousness.”

Mr. Gaetz on Tuesday took to the floor to outline an arch-conservative case against Mr. McCarthy, saying the speaker was “out of compliance” with the power-sharing agreement he made with the far right to procure his post in January. Mr. Gaetz stopped just short of calling to oust Mr. McCarthy immediately. But he said he planned to do so if Mr. McCarthy introduced a bill to temporarily fund the government, something that must happen within weeks to avert a federal shutdown.

Mr. Gaetz told reporters on a telephone call that he intended to regularly force snap votes to remove the speaker, threatening to make it part of the routine opening of every legislative day in the House: “the prayer, the pledge, and the motion to vacate.”

Democrats have been readying their defenses of the president. Representative Jamie Raskin of Maryland huddled with members of his committee on Sunday night to plan a response to the Republicans.

On Monday, the Democrats released a 14-page memo detailing what they called the “overwhelming failure” of the Republicans’ investigation into Mr. Biden.

The memo noted that the Oversight Committee, led by Representative James R. Comer, Republican of Kentucky, has received more than 12,000 pages of subpoenaed bank records, reviewed more than 2,000 pages of suspicious activity reports and spent hours interviewing witnesses, including two of Hunter Biden’s former business associates. But none of the bank records released so far show any payment to the president.

“Instead of working on legislation to promote the common good or even just keep the government running,” Mr. Raskin said, “House Republicans are weaponizing their offices and exploiting congressional power and resources to promote debunked and outlandish conspiracy theories about President Biden.”

Key take away point here: Since the investigation of Biden relates to things that happened while he was Vice President and not to do with matters related to his current official job, President, Congress can NOT vote to remove him from office. However, they can vote to keep him from every taking any future Federal government jobs, including running for re-election.

This may be sage advice regarding the English language as a whole.

It happens to include the NYT and this week's platter of drool, not to mention a bunch of noise I wish had never been created.

It is rather humorous to hear about an un-serious allegation into the Biden crime family. That part is believable. Bad press might hurt some newcomer but not them. Without a solid case it would be a wasted effort.

Note:

Congress mainly operates with a lack of solidity and a phenomenal waste of effort. That is how legislation is done. This is an "event", or, i. e. one of their special tasks not part of the usual waste of time.

But if he continues to receive money and peddle influence while posing as the *legitimate POTUS he can be impeached for that. But it’s all a freak show. He won’t be impeached by the House and if he should he will not be convicted in the Senate. No way.

Meanwhile Trump continues to be attacked on trumped up charges and an insane argument that he is barred from running for POTUS by the14th Amendment. This freak show meets with legacy media approval, but anything about Biden is off limits for discussion and is ridiculed if it does come up to protect his handlers.

I’ll stop myself here.

In the comments section of the video, Vayabroder points out, "How can you impeach someone who was not duly elected?" AR19xx responds with, "Impeaching the potato implies he was duly elected. Here’s what the Biden family business scandal impeachment inquiry could look like
By Steven Nelson
Published Sep. 12, 2023, 8:25 p.m. ET
https://nypost.com/2023/09/12/heres-what-the-biden-family-business-scandal-impeachment-inquiry-would-look-like/

WASHINGTON — House Speaker Kevin McCarthy launched an impeachment inquiry Tuesday into President Biden — turbocharging congressional power to acquire documents and testimony about Biden’s role in his family’s foreign business dealings while he was vice president.

House Republicans already have issued an array of demands to executive branch agencies relating to Joe Biden’s involvement with first son Hunter Biden and first brother James Biden’s international dealings — in many cases setting September deadlines that could soon escalate into litigation.

An Oversight Committee-led investigation this year found that the Biden family and their allies brought in at least $20 million from foreign sources, including Hunter Biden’s business associates in China, Russia and Ukraine.

However, an impeachment inquiry would give congressional investigators greater legal authority to access Biden family financial records and to go to court to enforce subpoenas for records held by the executive branch.

Republicans are also pressing for more information that clarifies why Joe Biden interacted with his scandal-scarred son’s business partners while he was vice president.

“House Republicans have uncovered serious and credible allegations into President Biden’s conduct. Taken together, these allegations paint a picture of a culture of corruption,” McCarthy (R-Calif.) said at the Capitol Tuesday when announcing the historic proceedings ahead of the 2024 election.

A poll released last week by CNN found that 61% of the American public believes Joe Biden was involved with his son’s dealings, despite his blanket denials — and 42% believe he acted illegally.

A Harvard-Harris poll in May similarly found that 53% of the public believes Joe Biden “was involved with his son in an illegal influence peddling scheme.”

Major questions that will be pursued by congressional Republicans include:

What’s in Joe Biden’s vice presidential emails?

Biden used the official account Robert.L.Peters@pci.gov as well as private email accounts registered to fake names. His then-aide John Flynn cc-d Hunter on 10 emails containing his dad’s daily schedule between May 18 and June 15, 2016, prior disclosures show.

A president’s own words can be especially damning during impeachment inquiries. Former President Richard Nixon, for example, resigned in 1974 only after a smoking gun tape confirmed he was involved in a coverup of the Watergate break-in.

What do Hunter Biden’s bank records show?

Congressional Republicans are preparing to issue subpoenas to banks for accounts held by Hunter and James Biden — after previously subpoenaing some of their associates’s bank records.

The statements could show if money was transferred to Joe Biden from his relatives’ foreign income streams and also whether they covered a substantial portion of his expenses. It’s possible the House will later seek the president’s bank records.

Hunter wrote in a message retrieved from his abandoned laptop that he had to give “half” of his income to his dad and House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) in May described nine Biden family members who allegedly received foreign income. There’s evidence Hunter paid at least some of Joe’s bills, including for phone service.

“The Oversight Committee will soon pursue Hunter and James Biden’s personal and business bank records,” a panel spokesperson told The Post.[/B]

While vice president, Joe Biden used the pseudonyms “Robert L. Peters” and “Robin Ware” to communicate with staff members — leaving a paper trail of nearly 5,400 written records.

The House Oversight Committee demanded those communications from the National Archives with an Aug. 31 deadline, but a source tells The Post the agency did not comply.

McCarthy said last month that the president should voluntarily “give us his bank statements,” but Biden laughed off the notion when asked by The Post if he would.

Other sources of Joe Biden’s income may become targets for subpoenas, such as records for S corporations through which the first couple routed more than $13 million in income in 2017 and 2018 to avoid Medicare taxes, and funding sources for Joe Biden’s roughly $1 million pay for an alleged “no-show” job at the University of Pennsylvania after his vice presidency and the costs of his ritzy DC office provided by the school.

Are there tapes backing up a $10 million Burisma bribe allegation?

Mykola Zlochevsky, the owner of Ukrainian natural gas company Burisma Holdings, allegedly told a paid FBI informant in 2016 that he was “coerced” into paying $10 million in bribes to the Bidens in exchange for VP Biden’s help ousting Ukrainian prosecutor-general Viktor Shokin, who was canned by a vote in Kyiv’s parliament in March 2016.

Zlochevsky allegedly kept two audio tapes of Joe Biden, 15 tapes of Hunter Biden and incriminating financial records, according to an FD-1023 FBI file released in July by Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa).

The tipoff was reviewed by the Pittsburgh FBI office in 2020 and referred to the Delaware US Attorney David Weiss’ office for further review. Weiss has refused to provide information on the allegation to congressional Republicans, saying in July that it’s part of an “ongoing investigation.”

President Biden snarked in June, “Where’s the money?”

It’s unclear what Weiss or the FBI did to further investigate. House Republicans have looked into the 2016 creation of a Maltese bank account for Hunter by Burisma and Grassley chose not to redact from the file the name of an alleged witness, Alexander Ostapenko, who might be able to corroborate the claims.

Who did Hunter call in DC with Burisma partners in December 2015?

Hunter stepped away from a December 2015 meeting at the Four Seasons in Dubai to “call DC” with Zlochevsky and Burisma board advisor Vadym Pozharskyi, the first son’s former business partner Devon Archer told the Oversight Committee on July 31.

“Listen, I did not hear this phone call, but he — he called his dad,” Archer said.

There may be records that establish whether Joe Biden took the call. Democrats, meanwhile, say that Hunter may have been calling DC to communicate with lobbyists hired by Burisma.

In addition to the alleged bribes, Burisma paid Hunter up to $1 million per year to serve on its board, beginning in April 2014 when his father assumed control of the Obama administration’s Ukraine policy.

Why did US policy shift toward Shokin?

he Oversight Committee, which is leading the impeachment inquiry alongside the Judiciary and tax-focused Ways and Means Committees, on Tuesday demanded that the State Department share records on Joe Biden’s role steering Ukraine policy under President Obama — including his apparently sudden decision to demand Shokin’s ouster in exchange for $1 billion in US loan guarantees.

Obama-Biden administration emails published last month by Just the News indicate officials were surprised that Biden was pushing for Shokin’s ouster as a condition of receiving foreign aid.

“Yikes. I don’t recall this coming up in our meeting with them on Tuesday,” National Security Council aide Eric Ciamarella alleged wrote in a Jan. 21, 2016, email, adding that “we were super impressed with the group” from Shokin’s office that visited DC.

Biden has publicly claimed credit for forcing Shokin from office and he spoke on the phone four times in February and March 2016 with then-Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and once with Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk as he pushed for Shokin’s ouster.

Comer’s latest request seeks from the State Department all “transcripts and notes (handwritten or
otherwise)—made in the course of phone calls between then-Vice President Biden and Ukrainian officials from January 1, 2014, and December 31, 2016.”

Why did Joe Biden meet with Hunter’s Chinese business partner on a 2013 trip to Beijing?

Hunter Biden cofounded the Chinese state-backed investment fund BHR Partners in December 2013 shortly after arriving aboard Air Force Two in China’s capital, where he introduced his vice-president father to BHR’s incoming CEO Jonathan Li.

Joe Biden had coffee with Li during the trip — rather than a handshake as previously reported — Archer told the Oversight Committee.

Archer said that Biden greeted Li on speakerphone during a subsequent Hunter Biden trip to China.

Joe Biden also wrote college recommendation letters for Li’s two children.

What happened to Hunter’s 10% stake in a Chinese investment fund?

BHR was registered in 2013 just 12 days after the Bidens arrived in China, the Wall Street Journal reported, and Hunter held a 10% stake in BHR through at least part of his dad’s first year as president.

The terms of his alleged 2021 divestment have not been disclosed by the White House or Biden family.

Hunter Biden’s “paid-in capital” to establish BHR Partners was $425,000, according to corporate registration records, the Journal reported. It’s unclear how much he received for his stake or from whom, though purported leaked records show Hollywood lawyer Kevin Morris may now control the shares.

The investment prompted GOP allegations of Biden having conflicts of interest on matters such as pressing China for answers on the origins of COVID-19 and demanding an end to fentanyl exports causing a surge in US overdose deaths.

BHR Partners played an important role in foreign acquisitions for Chinese firms, including facilitating the transfer of a Congolese cobalt mine from US and Canadian companies to a Chinese one in 2016. Cobalt is an important component of electric car batteries.

Why did Joe Biden dine twice with Hunter’s Ukrainian, Russian and Kazakhstani business partners?

Archer revealed that as sitting vice president, Joe Biden dined not once but twice at DC’s Cafe Milano restaurant with Hunter’s Ukrainian, Russian and Kazakhstani business partners.

The first meal allegedly occurred in the spring of 2014 and featured a Kazakhstani delegation and the former first lady of Moscow Yelena Baturina, who transferred $3.5 million that February to a corporate entity controlled by Archer and Hunter.

A different source told The Post that Baturina also attended the subsequent April 2015 dinner.

Burisma exec Pozharskyi’s thank-you note to Hunter for the opportunity to meet with Joe Biden formed the basis of The Post’s explosive first report on Hunter Biden’s laptop and directly contradicted the president’s longstanding claim he “never” discussed business with his relatives.

What happened to Baturina’s $3.5M? And how has she escaped Biden sanctions?

It remains unclear how much of the $3.5 million from Baturina may have flowed to Hunter — and how it is that Baturina has avoided President Biden’s sanctions against Russia’s business elite over the war in Ukraine.

Another Russian billionaire associated with Hunter Biden, Vladimir Yevtushenkov, has also avoided sanctions.

The Oversight Committee has charted the flow of $3.5 million from Baturina to some extent. The initial recipient Rosemont Seneca Thornton transferred $750,000 to Archer on March 11, 2014, and another $2,752,711 the same day to Rosemont Seneca Bohai.

Archer testified that Rosemont Seneca Bohai was held 50:50 by himself and Hunter Biden. On March 25, most of that money was in turn transferred to a different Rosemont Seneca Bohai account — with two transfers for $2,246,111 and $200,000 on the same day, the committee said in a recent report.

Archer said he didn’t know the reason the money was transferred, but that Baturina invested more than $100 million in a real estate fund he controlled.

The extent of Yevtushenkov’s financial dealings with Hunter are even murkier, though laptop records show they met twice while discussing real estate investments.

A former Yevtushenkov associatetold The Post that the billionaire, who until recently controlled Russian military contractors, expressly said he was seeking out a quid pro quo amid a long-running Justice Department investigation of his cellphone provider for bribing Uzbek officials.

The case was later settled with an $850 million fine by the Trump DOJ.

“He made it very clear to me that … ‘I think it would be good to have a good relationship with this guy … maybe he can do a favor for us and we can do a favor for him,’” the source said. “I told him that’s not the way it works in America, he basically laughed at me and told me I was so naïve.”

[B]What about the ‘big guy’ references?

Biden was penciled in for a 10% cut as part of a venture with Chinese government-linked CEFC China Energy, according to a May 2017 email, and his family earned roughly $6 million through that venture.

He also was referred to as the “big guy” in the Burisma informant file created in June 2020, despite the nickname not being public knowledge at the time.

The president told The Post in June it was a “dumb question” to ask why he was referred to ask the “big guy” in the Ukraine file after more famously being given the nickname in the CEFC deal, in which Hunter’s partner James Gilliar wrote the proposed distribution.

Former Hunter Biden business partner Tony Bobulinski met with the FBI in late 2020 after claiming he met twice with Joe Biden about the CEFC deal. Bobulinski may be called to testify to the House about what he knows.

Did Hunter talk to his dad after meeting a Romanian client?

Hunter earned more than $1 million working for corrupt Romanian businessman Gabriel Popoviciu from November 2015 to May 2017 as his vice-president father campaigned against corruption in Romania.

Hunter referred Popoviciu to former FBI director Louis Freeh to challenge a corruption case against him. Freeh called Hunter Biden in July 2015 just two hours before Hunter was scheduled to meet with his dad, according to abandoned laptop records.

Hunter flew to Romania on Nov. 15, 2016, for a two-day trip to represent Popoviciu before the National Anticorruption Directorate. Hunter had a “breakfast with dad” two days after his return.

Was Joe Biden present for Hunter’s Chinese shakedown?

IRS whistleblower Gary Shapley, who led the tax fraud investigation of Hunter Biden for more than three years, provided the House Ways and Means Committee a WhatsApp text message in which Hunter demanded money from a Chinese government-linked businessman by threatening his father’s wrath.

“I am sitting here with my father and we would like to understand why the commitment made has not been fulfilled,” Hunter allegedly wrote.

“Tell the director that I would like to resolve this now before it gets out of hand, and now means tonight And, Z, if I get a call or text from anyone involved in this other than you, Zhang, or the chairman, I will make certain that between the man sitting next to me and every person he knows and my ability to forever hold a grudge that you will regret not following my direction.”

“I am sitting here waiting for the call with my father,” Hunter reiterated.

Within 10 days, $5.1 million flowed from CEFC to the Biden family, according to transfers reported in a 2020 report from Republican-led Senate committees.

Shapley said tax investigators were barred by the Justice Department from determining if geolocation data placed the two men together, though photos from Hunter’s laptop show he was at his dad’s Wilmington, Del. home that day.

Who paid for Hunter’s art?

Hunter Biden sold at least $1.3 million in novice artworks since his father took office, according to a recent report by Business Insider — after Manhattan gallerist Georges Berges refused House Oversight Committee demands for a list of buyers, citing influence-peddling and money laundering concerns.

Elizabeth Hirsh Naftali, a Los Angeles real-estate investor and philanthropist, reportedly bought one of Hunter’s works. Naftali also was able to score many visits to the Biden White House and a presidential appointment to a prestigious board.

An unknown buyer bought 11 artworks for a total of $875,000, Business Insider reported.

With the commencement of an impeachment inquiry this week, the House of Representatives is moving the Biden corruption scandal into the highest level of constitutional inquiry. After stonewalling by the Bidens and federal agencies investigating various allegations, the move for a House inquiry was expected if not inevitable.

An impeachment inquiry does not mean that an impeachment itself is inevitable. But it dramatically increases the chances of finally forcing answers to troubling questions of influence-peddling and corruption.

As expected, many House Democrats — who impeached Donald Trump after only one hearing in the House Judiciary Committee, based on his phone call to Ukraine’s president — oppose any such inquiry into President Biden. House Republicans could have chosen to forego any hearings and use what I called a “snap impeachment,” as then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) did with the second Trump impeachment in January 2021.

Instead, they have methodically investigated the corruption scandal for months and only now are moving to a heightened inquiry. The House has established a labyrinth of dozens of shell companies and accounts allegedly used to transfer millions of dollars to Biden family members. There is now undeniable evidence to support influence-peddling by Hunter Biden and some of his associates — with Joe Biden, to quote Hunter’s business partner Devon Archer, being “the brand” they were selling.

The suggestion that this evidence does not meet the standard for an inquiry into impeachable offenses is an example of willful blindness. It also is starkly different from the standard applied by congressional Democrats during the Trump and Nixon impeachment efforts.

The Nixon impeachment began on Oct. 30, 1973, just after President Nixon fired Archibald Cox, the special prosecutor looking into the Watergate allegations. The vote in the judiciary committee was along party lines. The House was correct to start that impeachment inquiry, although House leaders stressed that they were not prejudging the existence of impeachable offenses. The inquiry started roughly eight months before any indictments of defendants linked to the Watergate break-in. It was many months before clear evidence established connections to Nixon, who denied any wrongdoing or involvement.

Every impeachment inquiry is different, of course. In this case, there is a considerable amount of evidence gathered over months of methodical investigations by three different committees.

Consider just five established facts:

First, there appears to be evidence that Joe Biden lied to the public for years in denying knowledge of his son’s business dealings. Hunter Biden’s ex-business associate, Tony Bobulinski, has said repeatedly that he discussed some dealings directly with Joe Biden. Devon Archer, Hunter’s close friend and partner, described the president’s denials of knowledge as “categorically false.”

Moreover, Hunter’s laptop has communications from his father discussing the dealings, including audio messages from the president. The president allegedly spoke with his son on speakerphone during meetings with his associates on at least 20 occasions, according to Archer, attended dinners with some clients, and took photographs with others.

Second, we know that more than $20 million was paid to the Bidens by foreign sources, including figures in China, Ukraine, Russia and Romania. There is no apparent reason for the multilayers of accounts and companies other than to hide these transfers. Some of these foreign figures have allegedly told others they were buying influence with Joe Biden, and Hunter himself repeatedly invoked his father’s name — including a text exchange with a Chinese businessman in which he said his father was sitting next to him as Hunter demanded millions in payment. While some Democrats now admit that Hunter was selling the “illusion” of influence and access to his father, these figures clearly believed they were getting more than an illusion. That includes one Ukrainian businessman who reportedly described Hunter as dumber than his dog.

Third, specific demands were made on Hunter, including dealing with the threat of a Ukrainian prosecutor to the Ukrainian energy company Burisma, where Hunter was given a lucrative board position. Five days later, Joe Biden forced the Ukrainians to fire the prosecutor, even though State Department and intelligence reports suggested that progress was being made on corruption. Likewise, despite warnings from State Department officials that Hunter was undermining anti-corruption efforts in Ukraine, he continued to receive high-level meetings with then-Secretary of State John Kerry and other State Department officials.

Fourth, Hunter repeatedly stated in emails that he paid his father as much as half of what he earned. There also are references to deals that included free office space and other perks for Joe Biden and his wife; other emails reference how Joe and Hunter Biden would use the same accounts and credit cards. Beyond those alleged direct benefits, Joe Biden clearly benefited from money going to his extended family.

Fifth, there is evidence of alleged criminal conduct by Hunter that could be linked to covering up these payments, from the failure to pay taxes to the failure to register as a foreign lobbyist. What is not established is the assumption by many that Joe Biden was fully aware of both the business dealings and any efforts to conceal them.

The White House is reportedly involved in marshaling the media to swat down any further investigation. In a letter drafted by the White House Counsel’s office, according to a CNN report media executives were told they need to “ramp up their scrutiny” of House Republicans “for opening an impeachment inquiry based on lies.” It is a dangerous erosion of separation between the White House and the president’s personal legal team. Yet, many in the media have previously followed such directions from the Biden team — from emphasizing the story that the laptop might be “Russian disinformation” to an unquestioning acceptance of the president’s denial of any knowledge of his son’s dealings.

Notably, despite the vast majority of media echoing different defenses for the Bidens for years, the American public is not buying it. Polls show that most Americans view the Justice Department as compromised and Hunter Biden as getting special treatment for his alleged criminal conduct. According to a recent CNN poll, 61% of Americans believe Joe Biden was involved in his family’s business deals with China and Ukraine; only 1% say he was involved but did nothing wrong.

The American public should not harbor such doubts over corruption at the highest levels of our government. Thus, the House impeachment inquiry will allow Congress to use the very apex of its powers to force disclosures of key evidence and resolve some of these troubling questions. It may not result in an impeachment, but it will result in greater clarity. Indeed, it is that very clarity that many in Washington may fear the most from this inquiry.

White House tells media how to cover Biden impeachment
Administration lawyers have prepared a letter urging the press to “ramp up its scrutiny” of Republican lawmakers
https://www.rt.com/news/582924-white-house-directs-media-impeachment-coverage/

White House lawyers have reportedly written a letter directing CNN, the New York Times and other US media outlets to scrutinize Republican lawmakers more aggressively as they try to impeach US President Joe Biden.

CNN and other recipients of the letter acknowledged getting the missive on Wednesday. “It’s time for the media to ramp up its scrutiny of House Republicans for opening an impeachment inquiry based on lies,” Ian Sams, a spokesman for the White House Counsel’s Office, wrote in the letter. He added that the impeachment efforts should “set off alarm bells for news organizations.”

US House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-California) launched the impeachment effort on Tuesday, directing committees of the Republican-controlled House of Representatives to open a formal inquiry. He said allegations of influence-peddling and solicitation of bribes by the Biden family “paint a picture of a culture of corruption.”

Even before receiving any guidance from the White House, some US media outlets already appeared to be trying to protect the president. CNN and Associated Press, for instance, suggested that Republicans were trying to prosecute Biden without having evidence to justify their investigation.

Those outlets apparently ignored such evidence as the sworn testimony of IRS whistleblowers and the records of bank transfers that lawmakers have already revealed. By launching impeachment proceedings, congressional committees will gain more power to subpoena documents that could help prove or debunk the allegations.

Veteran US journalist Matthew Keys, who has worked for such outlets as Reuters and Fox News, said the White House directive on impeachment coverage was “not OK.” He added, “The White House should not be encouraging, influencing or interfering in the editorial strategies of America’s newsrooms, including CNN and the New York Times.” The letter could backfire, Keys said, because “any time the media does try to hold Republicans to account, those lawmakers can simply counter by questioning whether it’s actual journalism or something encouraged by the Biden administration.”

Legal scholar Jonathan Turley, a professor at George Washington University, said the directive “has an uncomfortable feeling of marching orders to the media.” By trying to influence coverage of the impeachment inquiry, he argued, the administration “removes any pretense of separation between the Biden personal legal team and the White House Counsel’s Office.”

Sams, who also serves as a senior adviser to Biden, claimed that Republicans had failed in nearly nine months of investigation to “turn up any evidence of the president doing anything wrong.” He added that impeachment is “grave, rare and historic,” and the press must treat the claims of Republicans with “appropriate scrutiny.” The White House official attached a 14-page appendix to his memo providing talking points to address Republican “lies.”

Democrats previously controlled the House and twice impeached then-President Donald Trump.

Some of this is more entertaining than the actual dirty laundry.

It's not even free legal advice, it's a plea for help.

#1 Defense: character assassination! Surely a silver bullet there.

Isn't this at least in part about getting the public to see what might be based on lies?

Such as, this administration?

For one thing, if you have ever been lied about, then you don't usually rush to assert that fact. You don't really worry about that. The folly of what was said will be revealed or exposed by your simply telling the truth. If that was the case, you would let them inquire about impeachment and look like idiots, and probably come out stronger that way. That little note sounds like an S. O. S. from a rubber raft during a harpoon misfire.

Biden's controllers will probably pull a Wag the Dog stunt.

Wag the dog is, as a political term, the act of creating a diversion from a damaging issue usually through military force. It stems from the generic use of the term to mean a small and seemingly unimportant entity (the tail) controls a bigger, more important one (the dog). It is usually used by a politician when they are in a scandal, in hopes that people forget about the scandal and focus on the more important issue. The phrase originates in the saying "a dog is smarter than its tail, but if the tail were smarter, then it would wag the dog."[1] The concept has strong intersections with many other aspects of Diversionary foreign policy, particularly the Rally 'round the flag effect, as wag the dog actions tend to both distract and seek to bolster support through these actions.

Wag the Dog was released one month before the outbreak of the Clinton–Lewinsky scandal and the subsequent bombing of the Al-Shifa pharmaceutical factory in Sudan by the Clinton administration in August 1998, which prompted the media to draw comparisons between the film and reality.

During the filming of this movie, director Barry Levinson and Dustin Hoffman and Robert De Niro had an impromptu co-incidental meeting at a Washington, D.C. hotel with President Bill Clinton. Clinton asked De Niro: "So what's this movie about? De Niro looked over to Levinson, hoping that he would answer the question. Levinson, in turn, looked over to Hoffman. Hoffman, realizing there was no one else, to whom to pass the buck, is quoted as saying, "So I just started to tap dance. I can't even remember what I said."

In his video update yesterday, in the last 15 minutes starting at about 1:02:40, Alexander Mercouris discusses the impeachment and its implications in some detail.
He also notes how shocked some European politicians have been about Biden's visible decline, and predicts that Biden will quite soon announce that he's no longer going to run for re-election in 2024. (And I'd completely agree.)

There's nothing really new here, and his conclusions may seem fairly obvious to some. This is really just for fans of Mercouris' very measured and always incisive commentary.

Unbelievable. O_O Right there, all their techniques shown to the audience in this movie, Wag the Dog. They even had the little girl running in front of a green screen in some war torn region to fool and distract the public. (This is exactly what they did to fool the public with fake war scenes coming out of Ukraine using crisis actors. There were also scenes with Zelenski [secretly shot in front of a green screen] which were exposed as fake later on.)

In this movie, some of the "jokes": "Can I use this on my resume?..." "No, they'll come to your house and kill you." "I just do it for a story to tell..." "No you can't." "Oh. I'm just kidding." Like it's all funny, some uncomfortable laughter, this is all good. But yeah, we'll kill you if you talk about it. Smiles. It's all good to help out the liars in government with fraud. It's a noble cause.

Setting the stage. The trailer... to me, this movie, released one month before the Clinton/Lewinsky scandal broke, was made specifically for predicative programming purposes: get the idea out there to the public that it's okay for there to be a sexual scandal in the White House and that it's really not that big of a deal because you really can't blame them for wanting to cover it up. And, somehow it's cool to be part of the "insider" crowd (audience member watching the movie) being let in on all the dirty secrets meant to trick the population with the resulting fake news and fake events orchestrated to cover up the scandal. Later on, that audience member, preprogrammed, will have "cooled off" and be more dismissive and forgiving when the real story breaks.

So, you have to wonder if De Niro knew exactly what this was movie's purpose was for. Did any of the actors know? Who wrote the script, who funded this movie etc. Sounds like the CIA was involved.

Kent Dunn quoted someone in the military about current events and he said, "You're watching a movie." It's all bad theater. In the near future it'll probably be, "And the new president is (drum roll) ChatGPT!" Benjamin Lewin (https://www.coasttocoastam.com/guest/benjamin-lewin/) was on C2C last night and he asked ChatGPT to recommend some scientific papers and none of them exist. It must have the ability to pull future data.

It speculates that Operation Desert Storm had been scripted and choreographed as a ploy to get George H. W. Here is a recently cited example, and, it is not even a coincidental derail of the thread, considering Biden claims to be a Zionist.

This is mainly about Anti-Defamation League (https://www.presstv.ir/Detail/2023/09/11/710652/Zionist-Lobby-ADL-Smear-Campaign-Against-Iran-Press-TV-Vain), with Wiki slipped in as an added ingredient. This kind of "bending" is extremely predictable, which means in this case, the heresy of making stereotypical assumptions would swing you closer to the truth in the majority of cases:

By Ivan Kesic

These days, the news about US tech mogul Elon Musk exposing the smear campaign that the New York-headquartered Zionist lobby group Anti-Defamation League (ADL) has launched against his social media network X (formerly Twitter) is grabbing headlines worldwide.

It is worth noting that the Islamic Republic of Iran and its international media network Press TV have for years been the chief victims of the Tel Aviv-funded group’s malicious activities.

The ADL is an extremist Zionist lobbying and pressure group based in the United States, which operates under the guise of fighting anti-Jewish hatred. It has an annual budget of around $100 million and works closely with other Zionist groups based in Western countries.

The group is known for vigorously lobbying for the Israeli regime, justifying the Israeli policy of expansion into Jerusalem al-Quds and the West Bank, opposing the return of ethnically cleansed Palestinian refugees, and supporting US military interventionism in West Asia.

The activities of the ADL are aimed at critics of Zionism and the Israeli regime, most often with methods to equate criticism with Nazism and terrorism.

In most cases, they use available funds and influence to run smear campaigns and lawsuits.

ADL's Iranophobia

Since 1979, when the pro-American dictatorship was overthrown and the Islamic Republic was established through a popular referendum, the ADL has remained one of the fiercest promoters of Iranophobia, defaming Iranian individuals, society, culture and political system.

In April this year, the ADL office in Washington hosted Reza Pahlavi, the son of the deposed Iranian dictator who lives freely in the United States and mingles with various notorious anti-Iran lobbies.

The ADL described him as a “respectable politician” and hailed his visit to the occupied Palestinian territories, and uncritically broadcasted his speech in which he affronted leading figures of the Islamic Revolution and called for the overthrow of the Islamic Republic.

Iran is falsely accused of "sponsoring terrorism" by the ADL, which labels all Palestinian resistance groups with the same defamatory term, as well as Yemen's Ansarallah resistance movement.

On the other hand, Zionist terrorist groups like the Irgun, Lehi, and Haganah, on which today's Israeli armed forces are based, are glorified in the ADL reports as freedom fighters.

Yellow badges hoax

One of the most notorious examples of the ADL's spread of Iranophobic hatred was its participation in a smear campaign in 2006 when it promoted the hoax that Iran was introducing yellow badges for Jewish citizens.

This hoax was spread by the exiled monarchist and fraudster Amir Taheri, at a time of most active Zionist and Neocon warmongering against Iran, and its purpose was to equate Iran with Nazi Germany.

Other Zionist organizations such as the Simon Wiesenthal Center, American Jewish Congress, B'nai B'rith and the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism also participated in this smear campaign against the Islamic Republic.

The ADL did describe the hoax as "unconfirmed" in its article, but threw in a series of typical smears about alleged Iranian anti-Semitism, creating the impression that the rumor was entirely real and thus indirectly accusing Iran.

After the yellow badge allegations were debunked, the ADL did not distance itself from the article nor did it criticize its sister organizations for slandering Iran.

The ADL director at the time, Abraham Foxman, publicly claimed that Iran is “worse than Nazi Germany," advocated draconian sanctions against Iran and opposed any possibility of US-Iranian negotiations.

Campaign against Press TV

The ADL has also been one of the main proponents of a long-running smear campaign against Press TV, Iran’s leading international news network, lobbying along with other Zionist organizations to censor the network on global satellite channels and social media.

Press TV's flagship weekly show, Palestine Declassified, has been the main target of this pro-Israel lobby group in recent years, as the show has successfully exposed Israeli apartheid practices.

In April, the ADL and the Center for Countering Digital Hate (CCHD) demanded that Press TV be blocked for publishing content in Britain, with ADL boss Jonathan Greenblatt terming it “inexcusable”.

“We urge Meta [the owner of Facebook] and Twitter to immediately launch an investigation and to take action to prevent Press TV and the Iranian other media outlets from misusing these social platforms.”

The report said the Palestine Declassified show, hosted by former Labour MP Chris Williamson and Professor David Miller, uses social media to spread antisemitic tropes, especially against British Jews.

Two months before that, Williamson was stripped of his parliamentary pass by a committee of lawmakers in what he described as “confected controversy."

Speaking to the Press TV website at the time, Williamson said he “wasn’t surprised” by the arbitrary decision, noting that the political class in the UK has been “gripped by a kind of hypocritical hysteria”.

Williamson noted that the Zionist lobby and acolytes of the NATO military alliance in the British parliament exert an “entirely disproportionate influence”.

“The British political class only represent the interests of powerful lobbies, rather than the wellbeing of the communities they are elected to serve, and on whose votes they rely for their privileged positions."

ADL' coronavirus rhetoric

The "Executive Summary" section of an ADL report on Press TV this year contained a whole set of manipulations, mostly with the classic slander that the defense of Palestinian rights amounts to "spreading anti-Jewish hatred," but also other extremely misleading points.

Also included was the claim that Press TV propagated "Jewish responsibility for the coronavirus pandemic", which is a blatant lie and not backed by evidence.

ADL did not provide evidence with Press TV links but referred to the Israeli media in which it was claimed that "Iran is losing the battle with the coronavirus and is therefore desperately looking for foreign culprits."

That article with attempts to denigrate and ridicule Iran with lies was published in early March 2020, at the time of the outbreak of the pandemic, when Iran was the most affected country and when the coronavirus had not yet knocked on the doors of Western countries.

An inhumane campaign of portraying Iran as incompetent and paranoid failed miserably, because in the end, although sanctioned and with fewer resources, it proved to be more successful in fighting the pandemic with fewer deaths than the US and major European countries.

Press TV as 'KKK outlet'?

Another slander in the ADL report was summed up in the point that Press TV is doing "Antisemitic interviews with Ku Klux Klan leader David Duke", thus trying to portray the Iranian media network as a mouthpiece of racism and white supremacism.

It is difficult to enumerate all the manipulative methods summarized in so little text, including double anachronism, selective evidence, eternal guilt, guilt by association, taking it out of context, twisting of facts, double standards, and so on.

Duke did appear as a guest on Press TV, but only once and that was 11 years ago. He has also made numerous guest appearances on CNN, MSNBC and other Western media, which the ADL does not slander.

In giving statements to all these media, Duke has always distanced himself from racism and anti-Jewish hatred, insisting that his KKK membership dates back to the late 1970s and that it is, therefore, unfair that he is still portrayed as such today.

The public condemnation of racism and anti-Semitism by the former KKK leader certainly had more impact on the anti-racist struggle than all the ADL pamphlets combined, but due to his anti-Zionist views, the ADL and the mass media present him as an "enduring racist".

Press TV itself has a clear policy against all forms of racism and regularly reports on such incidents around the world, including Zionist hate directed against Palestinians, Arabs and Muslims.

In Duke's conversation with Press TV, the topic was not his KKK past or anything related to racism, but the influence of the Zionist lobby on American mainstream politics.

The fact that the Zionists are responsible for the war in Iraq, which Duke mentioned to Press TV, is an ostensibly "anti-Semitic claim" for the ADL, although even Western academic publications make it clear that the leading warmongers were from the Zionist and Neoconservative milieu.

ADL's attempts to censor Press TV

In its report, the ADL elaborates in detail the activities of Press TV on social media, mostly Facebook and Twitter, and finally gives recommendations on how the largest social networks should censor and sanction Press TV and its Palestine-related programs.

The ADL report also praises its sister Zionist organization, the Community Security Trust (CST), for successfully lobbying YouTube to shut down Press TV's social media channels.

In April this year, at the same time that the ADL publicly announced that along with dozens of other related organizations, it was campaigning against Twitter, ADL chief executive Jonathan Greenblatt called on Facebook and Twitter to eliminate Press TV.

The censorship campaign is also aimed at other most visited websites. The ADL praises Google Search for removing Press TV from their video hosting service but complains that at the same time, Press TV is surfacing highly in search results.

Another example is the English Wikipedia, where Press TV and Hispan TV are blocked as "unreliable sources," and even the posting of their links is automatically blocked.

This decision was made on the basis of the ADL reports, and the voters for censorship of Iranian media were users active on Jewish and Israeli topics, along with the most active pro-MKO users.

Ironically, the ADL openly flaunts this massive coordinated campaign of censorship, while calling Iran's criticism of it "conspiracy theories."

However, as evidence suggests, the massive smear campaign against Iran and Press TV has been in vain, with no desired output. Iran continues to back the Palestinian nation and all oppressed of the world and Press TV continues to be the voice of the voiceless.

Biden Impeachment Update
SEPTEMBER 22, 2023
JUDICIAL WATCH
https://www.judicialwatch.org/biden-impeachment-update/

"Biden Impeachment Inquiry: Scoundrels, Sleaze, and Corruption

“Oh, what a tangled web we weave / When first we practice to deceive.” Sir Walter Scott could very well have been referring to Joe and Hunter Biden. Using Judicial Watch and House committee discoveries, Micah Morrison, our chief investigative correspondent, pulls apart the intricate strands of Biden corruption in our Investigative Bulletin:

Investigations into the Biden family are gaining steam. On September 12, House Speaker Kevin McCarthy opened an impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden. House Republicans, McCarthy said, have uncovered “serious and credible allegations” that “paint a picture of a culture of corruption.” On another front, on September 14, David Weiss, the conflicted special counsel in the Hunter Biden probe, indicted the presidential son on three gun-related charges.

Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton called the impeachment inquiry “a necessary step for accountability and justice.” JW’s own investigations into the Bidens will continue. We’ve been at it for years. In 2020, JW Freedom of Information actions revealed new details about Ukraine corruption. We have repeatedly sued the State Department, Justice Department, FBI, CIA, and National Archives for information related to the Bidens. Read more about JW’s investigations here.

House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer—who will lead the impeachment inquiry along with Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan and Ways & Means Committee Chairman Jason Smith—has been banging away since January with an investigation of the Biden family’s foreign business practices and international influence peddling schemes, most notably the activities of Hunter Biden. Up to now, there’s little indication that Comer has gained direct access to the financial records of Hunter and Joe Biden. Opening an impeachment inquiry supercharges congressional powers and opens the way to a deeper probe into Biden finances.

But even without direct access to Biden family finances, the Comer Committee produced a remarkable array of witnesses, testimony and documents. The outpouring of facts, documents and witness testimony can be overwhelming to sort out, but Comer went a long way to clarifying the complex story with the release of a Biden family “Influence Peddling Timeline.” It’s an important document, painting an all-too-human picture of scoundrels, sleaze, and corruption.

According to the committee, Hunter Biden and a web of associated business entities and family members raked in over $20 million from 2014 to 2017—not coincidentally the last years of the Obama administration, when then-Vice President Joe Biden wielded considerable influence. The Hunter Biden hustle has all the hallmarks of a classic Washington influence-peddling operation: shady characters, murky deals, money moving between shell companies.

The gravy train started rolling in the spring of 2014, with money first flowing in from Kazakhstan, Russia, and Ukraine: $142,000 from a well-connected Kazakh millionaire; $3.5 million from a Russian oligarch; $6.5 million from Ukraine. In 2015, a Romanian tycoon began payments eventually totaling $3 million. In 2017, $8 million materialized from China.

The Kazakh Connection: A Sports Car for Hunter

The first sign that something was not kosher in Biden World comes in April 2014, when a controversial Kazakh oligarch, Kenes Rakishev, transfers $142,300 to a key Biden-connected financial entity, Rosemont. The next day, Rosemont transfers exactly $142,300 to a New Jersey auto dealership for Hunter Biden’s purchase of a Fisker electric car, which he quickly trades up for a Porsche.

Rakishev was a close associate of Kazakhstan Prime Minister Karim Massimov. Around the time of Hunter Biden’s sports car windfall, someone had arranged for Rakishev and Massimov to be to be photographed at Washington’s Café Milano with Hunter Biden and a very special guest: then-Vice President Joe Biden.

Such a photograph is precious coin of the realm in corrupt countries—an advertisement of power and connections. Corruption in Kazakhstan is a serious concern, according to international watchdogs. Of course this was a fact well known to both Bidens, but it did not prevent them from joining Rakishev and Massimov for dinner at the Café Milano—twice.

According to a Comer Committee interview of Biden business partner Devon Archer, Hunter Biden and Joe Biden joined the Kazakhs for dinner in April 2014 and again in April 2015. It’s unclear if the famous photograph is from the first or second dinner. In May of 2014, Hunter Biden traveled to Kazakhstan to try to drum up business between the Ukrainian energy company Burisma, Kazakhstan’s KazMunay Gas (where Rakishev served as a director), and a Chinese energy company.

Enter the Russian: A $3.5 Million Payday

The money trail in the Biden inquiry runs through a private investment firm that began life as Rosemont Seneca Partners and morphed over time into a web of limited liability companies. LLCs offer participants—legitimate companies and crooks alike—maximum secrecy. Rosemont Seneca Partners was founded in 2009 by Biden and two connections from Yale University: Devon Archer and Chris Heinz. Heinz is the stepson of former Secretary of State John Kerry and heir to the Heinz food company fortune. He departed the partnership in 2014.

The Comer Committee offers in its “Second Bank Records Memorandum” a mind-blowing list of twenty-one financial entities associated with the Biden enterprise. Most of them are LLCs and many have the name “Rosemont” or “Seneca” in them. We’ll refer to them simply as “Rosemont entity,” but the diligent reader can find details of the myriad Biden-connected LLCs in the three committee bank records memoranda linked at the end of this report.

Another guest at the Café Milano dinner in Washington in April 2014, according to the Comer Committee timeline: Russian oligarch Yelena Baturina. Two months earlier, Baturina had wired $3.5 million to a Rosemont entity. The Rosemont entity transferred $2.7 million to a bank account in a second Rosemont LLC jointly owned by Biden and Archer. Separately, $750,000 was sent from a Rosemont entity directly to Archer.

The Ukraine Connection: A $10 Million Bribe?

2014 was a very good year for Hunter Biden’s finances. In May, Biden and partner Devon Archer joined the board of Ukrainian oligarch Mykola Zlochevsky’s embattled energy company, Burisma. Each would be paid $1 million per year.

The committee’s third bank memorandum notes that “then-Vice President Joe Biden visited Ukraine” on an anti-corruption drive aimed at Zlochevsky allies “soon after first payments” were sent to Archer and Hunter Biden. The payments were wired to a Rosemont entity and then “transmitted in incremental amounts to Hunter Biden’s different bank accounts.”

By the end of the year, Hunter Biden had met with a high-level Obama administration official about Burisma. Zlochevsky complained about “government pressure” and urged Biden to contact his father, the vice president. In the interview released by the committee, Archer notes that Hunter Biden “called DC” after being pressured by Zlochevsky and his associates.

Earlier this year, Senator Chuck Grassley released a bombshell FBI informant report of a 2016 meeting with Zlochevsky. In the report, Zlochevsky claimed he had been coerced into paying a $10 million bribe to Hunter and Joe Biden. It “cost 5 [million] to pay one Biden, and 5 [million] to another Biden,” the FBI informant reported Zlochevsky saying.

Zlochevsky told the informant the payments were well hidden. It “would take them ten years to find the records,” he said.

In total, notes the committee, a total of $6.5 million went to “the Biden family and their associates” from the Ukraine connection.

The Romanian Payout: The Robinson Walker Shell

By November 2015, Hunter Biden had struck up a lucrative relationship with a controversial Romanian real-estate tycoon, Gabriel Popoviciu. Meanwhile, over at the White House, Vice President Biden was taking point on an anti-corruption campaign aimed at Romania. In September, Vice President Biden had welcomed the Romanian president to the White House, declaring his support for the country’s “anti-corruption efforts.”

Popoviciu was fighting bribery and corruption charges connected to a high-profile land deal near Bucharest. Hunter Biden joined the Popoviciu defense team. From 2015 to 2017, according to the Comer timeline, Biden met twice with the U.S ambassador to Romania and traveled at least once to the country. Meanwhile, more than $3 million from Popoviciu flowed to Robinson Walker LLC, an account controlled by a close Biden family associate, John Robinson “Rob” Walker.

According to the committee’s second bank memoranda, the Robinson Walker LLC is at the center of many payments to the Biden family and associates. Robinson Walker “received $3 million from Romanian Gabriel Popoviciu’s Cypriot company and then made payments to the Biden family,” the memo notes. Among the recipients was Hallie Biden, the widow of Hunter’s brother, Beau.

The committee noted that “while Vice President Biden advocated publicly for anti-corruption policies in Romania, bank records show Biden family members and business associates were simultaneously reaping in significant amounts of money” from Popoviciu.

China: ‘10 held for the big guy?’

By January 2017, the Obama administration was coming to an end and Hunter Biden and his associates were angling for their biggest score of all: China.

The target, cultivated for years, was the giant conglomerate CEFC China Energy. The Biden business plan was to sell U.S. energy products to CEFC and expand into other deals. CEFC was interested in a relationship.

The total amount paid to “the Biden family and their associates” by China, notes the Comer Committee, is “over $8 million.” Payments by CEFC were sent to the Robinson Walker shell—the same LLC used for the Romanian payouts—and distributed to various Biden family members and associates.

In March 2017—two months after Joe Biden left the vice presidency—a $3 million CEFC payment arrived at the Walker shell. Rob Walker distributed “over $1 million of that money to Biden family members,” notes the second bank memoranda, including payments to Hunter Biden; Hallie Biden; Joe Biden’s brother, business consultant and dealmaker James Biden; and a still-mysterious account simply labeled “Biden.”

Another beneficiary was Hunter Biden’s business partner James Gilliar. The Walker shell wired him $1 million. The British energy consultant was a key figure in putting the Biden network together with CEFC—including, seemingly, Joe Biden.

In a May 2017 email to Hunter Biden and associates about profit-sharing from the CEFC deal, Gilliar asks, “10 held by H for the big guy?”

An IRS agent who worked on the Hunter Biden case was pressed about the Gilliar email in July testimony before Congress. Joseph Ziegler told the House Oversight Committee that “all I can do is speak to the evidence there” and “that email, ‘ten held by H for the big guy’ and from what I understand that to be is his dad, President Biden.”

In August 2017, in the biggest payday of all, CEFC wired $5 million to a new LLC formed by Hunter Biden and Gongwen Dong—a top aide to CEFC Chairman Ye Jianming. The new company would pursue energy and infrastructure deals. Hunter would receive a $500,000 retainer and a $100,000 monthly payment. James Biden would be paid $65,000 per month.

Hunter Biden also received an additional $1 million retainer to represent Patrick Ho, a high-ranking CEFC official in the United States.

A month after the $5 million CEFC wire, Hunter Biden was busy in Washington setting up a new office for himself and his CEFC partners. “Please have keys made available for new office mates,” he emailed building management. “Joe Biden, Jill Biden, Jim Biden, Gongwen Dong (Chairman Ye CEFC emissary).” Hunter Biden added: “I would like the office sign to reflect the following: Biden Foundation, Hudson West (CEFC US).”

It looked like happy days were here again for the Bidens and their new Chinese friends. But in fact, the end was near.

The Fall of the House of Hunter

In November 2017, Patrick Ho—the high-ranking CEFC agent—was arrested in New York on suspicion of bribery and money laundering. Four months after Ho’s arrest, CEFC Chairman Ye Jianming vanished. According to news reports, he was suspected of widespread economic crimes at the helm of CEFC and arrested on the orders of Communist Party boss Xi Jinping. Ye has not been heard from since. CEFC collapsed into bankruptcy. Ho was convicted of bribery and money laundering in 2019 in connection with African oil deals and sentenced to three years in prison.

With Ho’s arrest, Biden business came to a screeching halt. Hunter Biden, by his own account, spiraled deep into a crack cocaine addiction. Many of his associates also did not fare well.

Former client Gabriel Popoviciu, the Romanian real-estate tycoon, fought a six-year, ultimately successful battle to prevent his extradition from London to Bucharest to face bribery and corruption charges. Ukrainian oligarch Mykola Zlochevsky has been fending off corruption charges since 2012, accused of large-scale theft of government funds. He is believed to be living in Monaco. Karim Massimov, the former Kazakhstan prime minister who dined with Hunter and Joe Biden in 2014 and 2015, was sentenced to eighteen years in prison for attempting a coup. Business partner Devon Archer was found guilty of fraud in 2018 in a conspiracy to cheat a Native American tribe in a bond scheme; he is appealing the conviction.

Doubtless there will be more to come about Hunter Biden as the impeachment inquiry digs deeper into bank records and the money trail. You lie down with dogs, you get up with fleas. But what about Joe Biden? Some questions are obvious.

Who is connected to that mysterious account named “Biden?”

Is Joe Biden “the big guy” and was “10”—or anything—held for him? Where is it?

Did a Ukrainian oligarch funnel $10 million in bribes to the Bidens? Where are the records?

Other questions may lead the committee deep into a wilderness of mirrors.

For example, is there a relationship between Vice President Biden’s anti-corruption statements and payments to Hunter Biden-connected accounts?

Are there other, unidentified accounts?

What is the financial relationship between James Biden to his brother Joe?

Did foreign intelligence services—no doubt tipped off to Hunter Biden’s activities—play any role in the Biden affair?

Interesting times ahead.

Until next week,
Tom Fitton "

I should like to take this opportunity to very helpfully point out yet again that just 10 months ago, the DC federal court **VERY HELPFULLY CLARIFIED** that defying a Congressional subpoena for testimony to a committee or for documents is a FEDERAL CRIME.

Steven Bannon & Peter Navarro were both indicted, tried by a jury, and convicted of defying subpoenas delivered to them last year by the January 6 committee.

The Biden Impeachment Begins: Beaking Down The Evidence

BY TYLER DURDEN
FRIDAY, SEP 29, 2023 - 08:15 AM
Authored by Techno Fog via The Reactionary (https://technofog.substack.com/p/the-biden-impeachment-begins?utm_source=post-email-title&publication_id=274771&post_id=137495401&utm_campaign=email-post-title&isFreemail=false&r=gz4m7&utm_medium=email)(emphasis ours),

Yesterday began what we might unofficially call the start of the impeachment of President Joe Biden. Or, as announced by the House Oversight Committee: the hearing (https://oversight.house.gov/hearing/the-basis-for-an-impeachment-inquiry-of-president-joseph-r-biden-jr/)on The Basis for an Impeachment Inquiry of President Joseph R. Biden, Jr.

For the more zealous among us, there is pressure to get on with it already. Start the proceedings, get the votes, and see what happens. A fair position, but we’re not there yet. The evidentiary record is not yet complete.

Thus, the “impeachment inquiry” is an essential investigative step, one which will require the testimony of scores of witnesses and numerous subpoenas for travel records, business and shell company records, bank records, and communications targeted at the Biden family and their business associates. Representative James Comer already has at least some of the investigation already planned; today he announced he is issuing subpoenas for Hunter Biden’s and James Biden’s personal and business bank records.

d2fLAi4dn6E

That wasn’t an empty promise. Yesterday evening, Comer “issued three subpoenas (https://oversight.house.gov/release/chairman-comer-subpoenas-hunter-james-bidens-personal-and-business-bank-records/) for Hunter and James Biden’s personal and business bank records.”

https://assets.zerohedge.com/s3fs-public/styles/inline_image_mobile/public/inline-images/685ee400-2092-488c-b823-c5efcad20e6a_790x776.jpg?itok=ps8PT_Fn

That’s where it should get juicy. The Biden family and their shell companies received over $15 million from 2014-2019. Their business associates, many of whom served as pass-throughs for the Biden family’s profits, received over $9 million. Where did all that money go?

To answer that question, there is perhaps the most important category of records investigators still need to obtain: the financial records of Joe Biden. Undoubtedly the Republicans will obtain those records as the investigation proceeds.

From there we might finally get confirmation to the admission of Burisma’s founder and CEO, who admitted to paying millions to Hunter Biden and Joe Biden - while Joe was the Vice President of the United States: “it cost 5 (million) to pay one Biden, and 5 (million) to another Biden.” (https://technofog.substack.com/p/the-biden-fd-1023-5-million-to-joe)

More broadly, the intensification of the investigation relates to the need to further prove the conspiracy and criminal access-operation among the Bidens – Joe, Jim, and Hunter. Not that the evidence isn’t there. It certainly is. But impeachment is about getting votes from politicians hostile to accountability and convincing an American public of its necessity.

SOJmeZma7_w

In other words, the inquiry must be deliberate and exhaustive, pursuing every investigative lead and interviewing every witness and getting every document. Think of the House as a type of special grand jury, assigned to investigate a matter of paramount importance. After all, this is one of the most important public corruption cases in American history.

Onto today’s House Oversight hearing, which featured three witnesses on behalf of the House Majority. The testimony of each is briefly summarized below.

Bruce Dubinsky, CPA, a forensic accountant and certified fraud examiner. Dubinsky is a world-class expert in complex financial fraud, especially where – as is the case with the Bidens – the perpetrators utilize shell companies and otherwise complex structures used to mask the source and distribution of funds. He has “investigated some of the world’s largest frauds.” This included the investigation of Bernie Madoff’s $65 billion Ponzi scheme (the largest in history), where he testified for the US government.

Dubinsky helped lay-out some of the most important questions that need further evidentiary support: why the Bidens were receiving million from foreign entities and individuals; why the Bidens used a complex web of shell companies; whether the money was fair market value for the alleged services rendered; and whether political favors were disguised as services. We note that the answers to many of these questions are in the public records released via the Hunter Biden laptop and Congressional investigations, there is no doubt there is significantly more to uncover.

Eileen J. O’Connor, Esq. led the DOJ’s Tax Division from 2001-2007 and has decades of working with tax administration and enforcement. She testified during the Hunter Biden investigation, “leads and procedures that would have been followed in any other case were thwarted. These included:

The denial of searches requested by IRS criminal investigators of Joe Bidens’ Delaware guest house and Hunter Biden’s storage facility, where probable cause existed to believe documents relevant to the criminal investigation existed.

The denial of interview requests of Hunter Biden family members and associates, including those which would have explained “10% held by H (Hunter) for the big guy.”

The sabotage of investigative steps to determine Joe Bidens’ presence – allegedly next to Hunter – while Hunter shook down a Chinese businessman.

O’Connor further detailed the necessity to investigate the investigators – those who allowed the statute of limitations on Hunter’s financial crimes to expire and why other criminal charges were not pursued.

Finally, Jonathan Turley testified (https://oversight.house.gov/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/Turley.Testimony.Biden-Inquiry.pdf)to the public allegations of Joe Biden’s corruption that warranted a full investigation: (1) his lies about foreign dealings with his family; (2) the fact that he was the target (if not a cooperating figure) “of a multimillion-dollar influence peddling scheme”; and (3) that Joe Biden “may have benefitted from this corruption through millions of dollars sent to his family as well as more direct possible benefits.”

More Insight into the Biden Family’s Corruption

Accompanying the impeachment inquiry has been the release of newly public documents that further prove the corruption of the Biden family and bolster the purpose of this investigation. For example, a large set of records were provided yesterday by the House Ways and Means Committee, including transcripts of witness interviews (including Hunter’s business associates and prostitutes), summaries of the recommended tax charges against Hunter Biden, and e-mails and documents proving the obstructive steps taken by the DOJ.

He said out loud and emphatically what many of us are thinking. Blood, sweat and tears, indeed. Liberty and freedom have no hope for revival without BST put into action. Now. “Lead me, follow me, or get out of my way.”
