Kevin McCarthy is out. Time to make the hunted the hunter. All the establishment RINOS will be exposed if they vote against Trump and certainly be primaried in weeks. This can really happen folks.

Fox news is floating the story...

https://www.foxnews.com/politics/gop-lawmakers-float-trump-house-speaker-mccarthy-ousting

As Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., has been booted from his post as House speaker after a motion to vacate brought forth by hardliner Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Calif., an unlikely nominee has been suggested as next speaker: former President Donald Trump.

Texas Rep. Troy Nehls said in a statement Tuesday afternoon his first order of business when the House reconvenes "will be to nominate Donald J. Trump for Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives."

"President Trump, the greatest President of my lifetime, has a proven record of putting America First and will make the House great again," he said.

Rep. Greg Steube, R-Fla., followed suit in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Tuesday evening: "@realDonaldTrump for Speaker."
The next speaker does not have to be a current sitting member in the House, but every speaker in U.S. history has been.

It’s not the first time Trump has been floated as a nominee for speakership, either. In January, as McCarthy struggled to garner enough votes to secure his speakership, Gaetz cast a ballot for Trump.

On the other hand, I have a question. Does anyone know the answer ?

Q) Does the Speaker of the house have the power to pause or postpone a Presidential election ?

Big story here.

Never before in over 200 years has a sitting Speaker been removed, at least to my understanding.

Not sure what it means that Patrick McHenry, who is now the temporary Speaker and who was picked in secret by McCarthy last January to take his place in the event that McCarthy stepped down, kicked Pelosi out of at least some her offices. McHenry is considered to be part of the McCarthy team. Why did he take that step as one of his first actions?

The Speaker of course is third in line to be President should something happen to the President and VP. Important point here.

How does this play in with all the Remote viewing/Psychic stuff/Clif High stuff of the last few weeks, if it does? We are seeing, in effect, a city being "blown up", right?

Do the WEF folks have a hand in this? Or have the White Hats decided it is critical to act now? People discount the possibility that the next Speaker will be a Democrat, but with a good portion of the Repbulican party being WEF-controlled, I would not discount this as being impossible.

None of these things just happen by accident.

These are revolutionary times. So much has been boiling up under the surface here in the States and in the world. Things are going to be happening even faster as we move forward (ala Terrance McKenna). Of course in revolutionary times, it is hard to know what happens next.....

If Trump is speaker, and Biden decides to step down because of numerous things, Kamela cannot be president because I believe she was born out of this country, I'm not sure but there is something that would not let her be president, thus speaker would be next in line. This entire scenario was spoke about last year exactly how it is laying out now. Very interesting times isnt it.

FYI Broom Hilda Pelosi got booted out of the capitol building by the interim speaker, he gave her 24 hours to clear her majesty's office. I had no idea she was even there.
Nancy Pelosi is evicted from her private Capitol Hill office by interim House Speaker Patrick McHenry

McHenry ordered Pelosi to vacate the private office in one of his first acts
Her staff cleared out the office as she attended Diane Feinstein's funeral
Pelosi had retained the office under her honorary title as 'Speaker Emerita'

What an odd reaction from Mike Pence - like he was in shock and seething - almost speechless...

Anyone would think there had just been some huge secret plot by the Deep State Globalists + Allies thwarted - maybe to get rid of Joe Biden on health grounds (heart attack?) - get rid of Kamala somehow - maybe again on health grounds or a surprising twist of some kind - like her stepping down - leaving McCarthy as Interim President ....then 2024 elections get postponed because of some kind of political emergency...(war?) leaving McCarthy as President for a lengthy period of time - which would conveniently exclude Trump for a lengthy period of time - but give the Republican arm of the Deep State Swamp (RINOs) a turn in the White House.....

maybe perhaps.... :sherlock:

but now (horrors of horrors for his enemies and the enemies of America - and Mike Pence ) Trump might become House Speaker AND President - possibly make Matt Gaetz his VP, (what an amazing team they would make).... + as an extra bonus WW3 is averted..:clapping:

the last paragraph could be wishful thinking - but who knows - we live in dramatic and strange times as the battle between Good and Evil really hots up....

I'm with you, Norman. I'm frankly....baffled. This utterly makes no sense whatsoever any way you analyze it. If I'm the daft one here, someone, please enlighten me...

The only explanation I can think of--as banal as it sounds--is the hive-bloc mentality vote going on, voting against their "wink-wink" ally, in this case, just because he's has an "R" next to his name. Cuz you know, Brando has what plant's crave. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kAqIJZeeXEc)..

Hint to political opponents: pretty easy to outsmart the Democrats if they're this easy to manipulate.

A possible scenario.

I doubt an acting temporary speaker is 3rd in line for President, as a proper speaker would be. Can someone clarify that ?

If not, there is NO heir to the throne if that whole bunch at the 'White House' is suddenly declared illegitimate by a move by the military or maybe a soldier walks up to 'Biden' during a public speech and rips his latex mask off.. (big shocking Clif High event, anybody)

McCarthy was a dodgy globalist stooge and as such too dangerous to be in line to the throne during a move by the military.

This may be rendered irrelevant within hours by a selection of a new speaker, but, if not, stand by for a lengthy period without a speaker, also stand by for a big move by the military.

You sold out because Kevin loaded up your plagued 2024 re-election campaign with money in June of this year. I checked the FEC records. That’s why you went from voting against him in January, to running cover for him yesterday.

Trump considering trip to Congress before speakership election

The former president is open to pitching himself as a speaker candidate, according to a Republican familiar with internal discussions.

Sarah Ferris
SARAH FERRIS

10/05/2023, 12:41PM ETUPDATED: 10/05/2023, 1:05PM ET

Former President Donald Trump is considering a visit to the Capitol next week where he is open to pitching himself as a speaker candidate, according to a Republican familiar with internal discussions.

If it happens, Trump would come speak to the House GOP sometime before lawmakers' internal speaker election, which is set to happen on Wednesday, that person said. A final decision hasn’t yet been made. The full GOP will meet Tuesday for an internal “candidate forum.”

It’s not clear if Trump — the frontrunner in the 2024 presidential primary — would actually run for speaker. Winning would require near-unanimity from the House GOP, a difficult hurdle for the controversial former president. One of his closest Hill allies, House Judiciary Chair Jim Jordan, is already in the race. (Jordan told NBC that he discussed his speakership bid with Trump this week.)

It remains a longshot idea: The House has never elected a speaker who wasn’t a member of Congress, though it is not technically a constitutional requirement. Trump could also run into problems with the GOP's own conference rules, which state a member of GOP leadership is required to step aside "if indicted for a felony for which a sentence of two or more years imprisonment may be imposed."

Still, the former president has openly flirted with the idea of becoming GOP speaker in the days since Kevin McCarthy’s fall. And several members, including Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga), have backed the idea.

< embedded video I posted here (https://projectavalon.net/forum4/showthread.php?122015-McCARTHY-IS-OUT...-President-Trump-as-Speaker-of-the-House&p=1580159&viewfull=1#post1580159), I think >

“A lot of people have been calling me about speaker. All I can say is we'll do whatever is best for the country and the Republican Party,” Trump told reporters (https://www.politico.com/video/2023/10/04/trump-a-lot-of-people-have-been-calling-me-about-speaker-1085489) Wednesday.

Trump would accept House speakership for a 'short period' while Republicans decide on a permanent replacementhttps://www.foxnews.com/politics/trump-accept-speakership-for-short-period-republicans-decide-permanent-replacement

EXCLUSIVE: Former President Trump told Fox News Digital that he would accept a short-term role as speaker of the House of Representatives to serve as a "unifier" for the Republican Party until lawmakers reach a decision on who should take on the post.

Rep. Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., was removed as speaker of the House Tuesday after Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., introduced a measure against him known as a motion to vacate, accusing him of breaking promises he made to win the speaker's gavel in January.
"I have been asked to speak as a unifier because I have so many friends in Congress," Trump told Fox News Digital. "If they don’t get the vote, they have asked me if I would consider taking the speakership until they get somebody longer-term, because I am running for president."

"With Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) ousted as speaker of the House on Oct. 3, Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), chairman of the powerful House Judiciary Committee, and House Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-La.) are the first to throw their hats into the ring to succeed him.

After the motion to vacate the chair passed 216–210 on Oct. 3, with eight Republicans joining 208 Democrats voting in favor, Mr. McCarthy announced that he wouldn't run for speaker again and said he is undecided about whether he will remain in Congress. Rep. Patrick McHenry (R-N.C.) has been named as speaker pro tempore until a replacement is voted in.

A former wrestling coach, Mr. Jordan told reporters on Oct. 4 that he would fight for the gavel.

Mr. Jordan, who has been in Congress since 2007, was nominated during the speaker's race in January but wasn't interested in taking the position that is next in line to the presidency after the vice president. He supported Mr. McCarthy's bid.

Mr. Jordan wrote in a letter to colleagues that this is a crossroads in the nation's history. "Now is the time for our Republican conference to come together to keep our promises to Americans,” he wrote.

"The problems we face are challenging, but they are not insurmountable. We can focus on the changes that improve the country and unite us in offering real solutions,” he continued. "But no matter what we do, we must do it together as a conference. I respectfully ask for your support for Speaker of the House of Representatives."

In a letter to colleagues, Mr. Scalise listed bills the House has passed such as on border security and energy, and remarked that the job isn't finished.

"Now is not the time to slow down," he wrote. "We laid out an aggressive schedule to complete floor consideration of all 12 appropriations bills to go into Senate negotiations with the strongest hand possible, and we cannot afford to lose any more time achieving that goal."

Mr. Scalise spoke about his personal life, including when he got shot in 2017 one day before the annual bipartisan Congressional Baseball Game for Charity.

"God already gave me another chance at life. I believe we were all put here for a purpose,” he wrote.

"This next chapter won’t be easy, but I know what it takes to fight and I am prepared for the battles that lie ahead,” wrote Mr. Scalise, who has been in a battle with blood cancer that could cause him to miss time in Congress. "I humbly ask you for your support on this mission to be your Speaker of the House."

In addition to Mr. Jordan and Mr. Scalise, possible candidates to succeed Mr. McCarthy include House Majority Whip Tom Emmer (R-Minn.) and House GOP Conference Chairwoman Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.). All of them expressed support for Mr. McCarthy.

Rep. Kevin Hern (R-Okla.), chairman of the Republican Study Committee, also hasn't ruled out making a bid for speaker himself.

The House is in recess until Oct. 10. A candidate forum is scheduled for that day, with the speaker election set for Oct. 11."

Steve Scalise is no loner running for Speaker, HOORAY!!!! I find it interesting how smart Jim Jordan was to stick up for McCarthy earlier on. Now because of that McCarthy just put his support behind Jim Jordan. But there are so many RINOS that want to show their bipartisan support to the democrats and are struggling to give Jim Jordan the number of votes he needs. I saw a recent poll about whom the People want as House Speaker and it was overwhelming support of Jim Jordan but yet many of the House Republicans are not for what the People want. It's so disgusting to see career politicians supporting super pacts and huge corporations instead of the citizen.

Lot going on in the world of course.

We have acting as US President some sort of entity, not sure if it is human actually. Next in line is a VP and she has real issues as to whether she can be President not due to her incompetence but to laws regarding where she was born or where her parents are born.

Of course the Speaker is next in line. Was the whole thing with McCarthy resigning just now coincidence? Ha.

As an aside, I am from Jacksonville, Florida, and one of the 20 Republicans who voted against Jordan is a representative from there. A friend tried to call his office expressing opposition to to the way he voted. She said she didn't get a recording or a busy signal, much less someone to talk to....... The phone lines are metling down on this issue vote.

(Podcast at the link)

"The new speaker aims to complete the appropriations process in the next 23 days, which will test his ability to maintain the fragile unity of House Republicans.

Rep. Mike Johnson (R-La.) has been elected speaker of the House of Representatives, clearing the way for the chamber to reopen after 22 days of enforced idleness since the ouster of former Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.).

He became the 56th speaker of the chamber on Oct. 25, winning 220 votes—including unanimous support from the Republican conference on the first ballot—a stunning moment that capped weeks of tumultuous infighting that saw three other Republican speaker nominees rise and fall.

Making his way to the rostrum amid a standing ovation, Mr. Johnson received handshakes and hugs from colleagues and even posed for a selfie with one member.

Mike Johnson Calls Speakership 'Honor of Lifetime'
Mr. Johnson, carrying what appeared to be a Bible in hand, accepted the gavel. He thanked House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y), as well as his predecessor Mr. McCarthy (R-Calif.) for his service, crediting him with creating the Republican majority in the House.

"I want to say to the American people, on behalf of all of us here, we hear you," Mr. Johnson said at the podium.

"We know the challenges you're facing. We know that there's a lot going on in our country, domestically and abroad, and we're ready to get to work again to solve those problems, and we will. Our mission here is to serve you well, to restore the people's faith in this House, in this great and essential institution."

Drawing on biblical themes, Mr. Johnson said, "I believe that each one of us has a huge responsibility today to use the gifts that God has given us to serve the extraordinary people of this great country as they deserve it and to ensure that our Republic remains standing as the great beacon of light and hope and freedom in a world that desperately needs it."

The new speaker seemed part political philosopher and part policy wonk as he explained his vision for governance and laid out a legislative agenda to address border security, inflation, and the national debt.

"We want our allies around the world to know that this body of lawmakers is reporting again to our duty stations. Let the enemies of freedom around the world hear us loud and clear, the People's House is back in business," he said.

With that, Mr. Johnson was sworn in by the longest-serving member of the House of Representatives, Rep. Hal Rogers (R-Ky.).

The House immediately began a legislative session.

In a whirlwind of activity the previous day, Mr. Johnson was first defeated in a Republican nominating conference but elected less than 10 hours later after Majority Whip Tom Emmer (R-Minn.) withdrew his nomination.

The 51-year-old attorney and former radio host now faces the daunting task of keeping the fractious Republican majority united as it faces a series of near-immediate decisions.

Unanimity at Last
Mr. Johnson received a prolonged standing ovation from fellow Republicans upon his nomination by Conference Chair Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.).
"Today is the day that House Republicans will humbly look in our hearts and elect Mike Johnson as Speaker of the People's House," Ms. Stefanik said, a nod to the desire of many Republicans to put the divisions of the past three weeks behind them.

She described Mr. Johnson as a deeply principled man of faith who was strong, fair, and kind, and able to lead the House in facing the country's significant problems.

"The people are looking to this great chamber to save America, and save America we will," Ms. Stefanik said. "Today is the day we get this done."

Rep. Pete Aguilar (D-Calif.) made a gesture of respect to Speaker Pro Tempore Patrick McHenry (R-N.C.) before nominating Mr. Jeffries.

"I noticed a little bit more of a smile on your face today than we have in the past," Mr. Aguilar said, acknowledging Mr. McHenry's service in a difficult temporary role as it drew to a close. The remark evoked a sheepish smile from Mr. McHenry and a standing ovation for the speaker pro tempore from both sides of the aisle.

Mr. Aguilar went on to cast the speaker election as a partisan battle inspired by the former president.

"This has been about one thing—this has been about who can appease Donald Trump."

Balloting began just before 1 p.m. with 429 members present, including 220 Republicans. The number of votes needed for election was 215. Mr. Johnson was elected 220–209, unanimously supported by fellow Republicans.

As the hour-long voice vote proceeded, Republicans and Democrats traded occasional jeers as several members aimed barbs at the opposing candidate when casting their vote. Mr. McHenry once gaveled the House back to order.

Eventually, the mood lightened among Republicans, who erupted in a cheer as Rep. Steve Womack (R-Ark.) cast the 217th vote in Mr. Johnson's favor.

That number, representing a majority with all members present, was the conference's elusive goal over several previous rounds of voting.

Support
Republicans reacted to their new speaker with confidence that he's a person of integrity who will change the way the House functions.
“I know Mike will keep our majority united as we continue to deliver on the commitments we've made to our constituents,” Mr. Emmer said.

Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-La.) said: “I've seen a commitment [in Mr. Johnson] ... to things bigger than himself, going back to my days in the statehouse. And when he came to Congress, those same principles followed him.”

“We have a new level of trust with Speaker Johnson that did not exist previously,” Rep. Bob Good (R-Va.) said. “Three weeks from now the American people won't care how long it took to get a speaker. They will care that we've got a conservative leader a man of principle a man of integrity, a man who doesn't represent the swamp of D.C.”

President Joe Biden issued a statement congratulating Mr. Johnson on his election and pledging to find common ground with him wherever possible.

"This is a time for all of us to act responsibly, and to put the good of the American people and the everyday priorities of American families above any partisanship," the president wrote.

Former President Donald Trump, who earlier on Oct. 25 backed Mr. Johnson, also celebrated the new speaker.

“I just want to congratulate Mike Johnson. He will be a great speaker of the House, and we were very happy to have helped,” he told reporters outside a New York courtroom. “I've known him for a long time. He's a tremendous leader and a tremendous man.”

The Road Ahead
The first action of the House will be the approval of a nonbinding resolution in support of Israel’s right to self-defense, Mr. Johnson said. The resolution, a symbolic measure, has 425 co-sponsors and will be a quick win for the new speaker.

After that, the legislative agenda focuses heavily on the completion of the appropriations process before government funding expires on Nov. 17.

Mr. Johnson said he aims to pass the remaining eight appropriations bills in quick succession, which will allow the House to negotiate with the Democrat-controlled Senate from “a position of strength.” He didn't rule out the passage of a second stopgap spending bill if necessary.

The new speaker has proposed using creative approaches to moving the spending bills quickly, including forcing some bills out of the Appropriations Committee and forming a working group to address problems in the farm bill, which failed in September.

It's unclear how these tactics will be received by House Republicans given that concern about following the “regular order” of the legislative process was a key complaint against the former speaker. Passage of a 45-day stopgap spending measure became the final straw that prompted Mr. McCarthy's removal from the role.

The Johnson agenda includes completing 2025 spending bills by the end of July in order to avoid repeating the end-of-year frenzy over government spending, something fiscal hawks have agitated for. The speaker also said he wouldn't recess the House in August unless all 12 appropriations bills have been approved.

Beyond regular appropriations, President Biden has requested some $105 billion in emergency aid to Ukraine, Israel, allies in the Indo-Pacific, and border security. Republicans are eager to support Israel and strengthen border security, although many are leery of Ukraine aid and believe those requests should be considered individually rather than as a bundle.

The House also is expected to consider imposing additional sanctions on Iranian oil sales in an attempt to reduce their ability to fund terrorist activities.

Mr. Johnson must accomplish this while acclimating himself to the role of speaker. While he's a former chairman of the Republican Study Committee, the largest of the five major Republican caucuses, he hasn't held a committee chairmanship.

New Leader, Same Conference
The unanimous vote for Mr. Johnson by House Republicans masks, if only temporarily, the deep divisions that exist within their conference. Over the preceding days, Republicans were more willing to acknowledge that conflict publicly.

“I think it is apparent to the American people that the GOP conference is hopelessly divided,” Mr. Womack told reporters on Oct. 24.

Those divisions have been evident in events of the preceding three weeks as a handful of Republican members—not always the same ones—were able to force the conference to abandon the will of the majority.

“First, McCarthy was the one with problems, then Steve Scalise, then Jim Jordan, then Tom Emmer,” Rep. Dusty Johnson (R-S.D.) said. “It may be that Republicans in the House have been conditioned to just say no unless they get everything they want.”

Leading the diverse and often cantankerous conference will be challenging, but some members expressed confidence that Mr. Johnson has the skill for the job.

“I have a lot of respect for his maturity, his judgments, and his personal character," said Rep. Tom Cole (R-Okla.). "And I think those things we'll see if we were just about any challenge."

Jackson Richman, Joseph Lord, Ryusuke Abe, and NTD's Melina Wisecup contributed to this report. "

"The House finally elected Rep. Mike Johnson (R-La.) to be their 56th speaker, more than three weeks after former Speaker McCarthy (R-Calif) was ousted.

He won the speakership with a unanimous vote from his fellow Republicans 220-209.

Mr. Johnson, 51, was nominated by the Republican conference with 128 votes in closed-door balloting after three rounds of voting late on Oct. 24.

In a press conference after the nomination on Tuesday, the Louisiana lawmaker noted that "democracy is messy sometimes," but stressed the House Republican majority was "united" in its vote for him.

Johnson Pledges a 'New Form of Government'
He also announced that the House would hold a floor vote on Wednesday to "make this official," although he still needs almost all Republicans in the public roll call to win the gavel.
"I’m honored to have the support of my colleagues," Mr. Johnson told reporters. "This is servant leadership. We’re going to serve the people of this country. We’re going to restore their faith in this Congress, this institution of government. America is the last best hope of man on the earth."

In addition, the Louisiana Republican vowed to restore America's trust in Congress and promised swift government reform if he were to secure the position of House speaker.

Rep. Mike Johnson Picked as New GOP Speaker-Designate: 'We're Going to Serve the People
"You're going to see a new form of government, and we are going to move this quickly. This group here is ready to govern, and we're going to govern well—we're going to do what's right by the people," the Republican told reporters.

What follows are some things to know about the relatively little-known Rep. Johnson.
Who Is Mike Johnson?

Mr. Johnson is a lawyer specializing in constitutional issues. He earned his juris doctorate from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at Louisiana State University in 1998 and earned his undergraduate degree in business administration from Louisiana State University in 1995, according to his official website.

He spent nearly 20 years practicing constitutional law, including successfully litigating "high-profile" constitutional law cases in district and appellate courts nationwide, his biography states.

The married father of four was elected to the Louisiana legislature twice without opposition and served in the Louisiana House from 2015 to 2017, before being elected to Congress.

He represents Louisiana’s fourth district, which includes nearly 760,000 within 16 parishes in the northwest and western regions of the state.

According to his official website, Mr. Johnson was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives with the largest margin of victory in his region in more than 50 years.

Mr. Johnson is "widely recognized as a leading defender of the right to life, religious liberty, free speech, the Second Amendment, and free market principles," and has "solidified his distinguished reputation as a principled, full-spectrum conservative as the representative for Louisiana’s Fourth District," according to his website.

The lawmaker, who is also serving as vice chairman of the House Republican Conference for a second time after being unanimously reelected last year, also describes himself as a "trusted ally" of former President Donald Trump.

Does Johnson Support Trump?
In 2020, he rallied Republicans around President Trump’s legal efforts questioning the 2020 election results. Mr. Johnson also staunchly defended President Trump during his impeachment hearings.

"President Trump called me this morning to let me know how much he appreciates the amicus brief we are filing on behalf of members of Congress," Mr. Johnson posted on X at the time the brief was introduced. "Indeed, 'this is the big one!'" he added.

Mr. Johnson also serves on the House Judiciary Committee, which is charged with overseeing the administration of justice within the federal courts, federal administrative agencies, and federal law enforcement entities.

The committee is currently probing President Joe Biden's son, Hunter Biden, who has been charged with federal tax crimes, and a firearms-related count.

The Louisiana representative also serves on the Select Committee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government, and on the House Armed Services Committee, and is the chairman of its Subcommittee on the Constitution and Limited Government

Johnson 'Never Before Aspired' to Be House Speaker
Mr. Johnson has already received widespread support in his efforts to become House speaker, beating four other candidates, including Reps. Byron Donalds (R-Fla.), Chuck Fleischmann (R-Tenn), Mark Green (R-Tenn.), and Roger Williams (R-Texas), to secure the nomination.
Despite his nomination for the position of House speaker by his colleagues, Mr. Johnson told his fellow lawmakers in a letter over the weekend that he had "never before aspired to the office."

However, after much deliberation, he decided to step forward after Mr. Emmer dropped out in hopes that he could "serve as a trusted caretaker and a good steward of the gavel" and House Republicans could "chart a new path."

"The complex role of speaker at this time requires a team player and a bridge-builder with endless energy and a unique mix of skills and experiences," Mr. Johnson wrote in his letter.

"My extensive background in law, policy, strategic analysis, messaging, managing, networking, and building coalitions happens to have served as uncommon preparation for the extraordinary demands of this day," he continued.

"I would be humbled to earn your support, and, by God’s grace, lead our historic cause as your Speaker," he concluded.

Lawmakers will head to the House floor later on Wednesday to vote.

The Associated Press contributed to this report."

Now that the Speaker of the House has been chosen (as Mike Johnson), in hindsight, I've got this:

.
.
Here's Derek going on an impressive little rant again. If you need a kick in the butt, he's your man. One thing that was good to be reminded of (if I got this right) was Trump being CIC means he could not be Speaker of the House, period, because it would be in conflict with his role as CIC. To be lawful, Trump is either operating under the Constitution or he is operating under COP as CIC (COOP and military Laws and Orders). It can't be both at the same time because the roles/duties have been lawfully separated. So there was really was no need for everyone to get sidetracked by the "Trump for Speaker" drama. (But, hey, I think it's always fun to rile up the "left". Anything that makes Trump look viable for anything throws the whole anti-Trump fake news narrative out the window and wakes up more people.)
