It is a crucial question we all should think about for sure.
It is also a very personal one, as each individual experiences challenges in a different, personal way.
Over time, it looks like it is a certain choice (or Choice) between "giving up" or "not giving up" in whatever circumstances we may find ourselves.
Everything that is going on in the world today is geared towards "pushing" people as much as possible towards the former.
Personally is am still very much "accepting the challenge" though the way this is happening has changed over the years.

Excellent Topic :Avalon:
Name 3 challenges you decided to take on upcoming months ... If 3 or more Avalonians (https://projectavalon.net/forum4/memberlist.php?order=desc&sort=posts&pp=999) react in a sincere way, I will reveal/share my 3 personal challenges (https://projectavalon.net/forum4/showthread.php?122223-Can-You-Truly-Be-Happy-Without-Self-honesty) :) ... And anyone who have chosen not to want any challenges are not counted as a "reaction" to me.
cheers,

3 Day Self Challenge- Accepted
Day One.
* Taking the word 'challenge' more in the sense of a 'confrontational challenge' than a test.....
..the question arises, for me, do I challenge myself as thoroughly (and with the same level of scrutiny) as I do others?
"Projection is also a way of distancing oneself from one's own shadow. In other words, I can see someone else's greed. I can say, 'Well, that person is ambitious,' or 'Look at that person, how jealous they are,' and we actually take pleasure in that kind of moral superiority. We seldom realize that the other is carrying our own disowned parts. Who among us in a moment like that would stop and say, 'Well, perhaps I should also look at my greed; look at my jealousy,' or 'look at my anger'?"

It gets bloody challenging dull when all that seems to possibly offer a modicum of relief from the relentless discipline of saying NO to everything but breathing is compared to relief from stress however brief; however, so many traps are set for people by the Genocidalists, poisoned everything, everywhere, that it seems simple to say, "What the hell, I'm going to die anyway. It may as well be sooner than boring later!"

Setting yourself a challenge, whether good or bad, is to test your will to resist but also to succeed in achieving a goal, following an objective without weakening.
You can try small things and stick with it until you get the result.
We can see it as a form of stubbornness in putting your challenge on a pedestal, despite the temptations to dissuade you.
Cultivating moral value sometimes requires making sacrifices, it is in the same model as religious practice, with a precise goal to meet its challenge.

3 Day Self Challenge- Accepted
Day Two.
Challenging the Self about lies to the Self.
LIES TO THE SELF ARE HARDER TO DETECT THAN THE LIES “OUT THERE”.
From an esoteric perspective lies to the self are the most harming and hardest to detect, for we all have our subjective/unconscious blindspots, hence self-work just by oneself has its limitations, especially shadow work.
It is "easier" to seek truth "out there" and recognize the obvious lies and deception of official culture and matrix manifestations.
However, without sincere self-examination of how we tend to lie to ourselves with clever rationalizations and justifications we build a "false foundation" and the "matrix has us", working through our own minds -it limits our ability to separate truth from lies externally as well for we then only see what we "want to" see that appeals to the programmed personality.
100% sincerity us impossible for there are many revolting and contradictory parts within us that resist the light and fire of internal transmutation. In fact, a sign of one’s sincerity is to see how insincere we are and how easily we come up with excuses and justifications.
Being sincere with oneself can be particularly-challenging for people who predominantly live in their heads. This personality possesses a strong intellect (even a high IQ) that has the ability to rationalize and self-justify everything (including crafting a clever exterior persona), especially in relation to the lies stemming from the false personality.
They also have a tendency to get trapped in analysis-paralysis, being unable to recognize anything “above/beyond” themselves, i.e. the higher intelligence of the Divine and Spirit. Caught in overriding thought loops and the rationalizing mind and cut off from the body, the door to the Divine is therefore shut – they are cut off within the prison of the monkey mind with occult forces pulling their strings.
The underlying mechanism behind this behaviour is actually unconscious fear, stemming from ego/personality identification:
Fear of the loss of control.
Fear of surrender to the flow of life/Tao (with the resultant illusory fear of chaos) which is itself based on the fear of nature
and, essentially, fear of true love and freedom.
It also ties into the fear of being “insignificant”,
Fear of not being “strong” (fear of appearing as “weak”).
Fear of “not knowing” (and essentially the “unknown”).
and fear of how others will perceive us if we’d open up to deeper, authentic expressions of humility and vulnerability (without attention-seeking self-pity or victim consciousness)
Disillusionment (becoming free from Illusion) is inevitable in this process and the hardest part of Awakening. It's the threshold to cross to be re-born in one's true Self.

“If man does not accept his situation and, in particular, his inner state as it appears to him, thanks to brief illuminations from the consciousness of the real ‘I’— if he is obstinate against all evidence, justifying his Personality by protecting himself behind logic, legitimacy and justice, he will then turn his back on the path of Access, and thrust himself further into the wilderness.
JNobody can reach the path of Access to the Way [of union with the Divine], without first passing through an interior bankruptcy; a moral collapse [disillusionment].”
– Boris Mouravieff, Gnosis

“A dangerous habit is constant self-justification. When this becomes strong in the seeker, it is impossible to turn him in this part of the being to the right consciousness and action because at each step his whole preoccupation is to justify himself. His mind rushes at once to maintain his own idea, his own position or his own course of action.
This he is ready to do by any kind of argument, sometimes the most clumsy and foolish or inconsistent with what he has been protesting the moment before [but not obvious to him], by any kind of mis-statement or any kind of device. This is a common misuse, but non the less a misuse of the thinking mind; but it takes in him exaggerated proportions and so long as he keeps to it, it will be impossible for him to see or live the Truth”

Doug sounds like your at the point where your material physical self has almost caught up with your higher self (He, it, she, they know it all)
Look at the world around you as if you are your Higher self and don't be surprised, just causal.

3 Day Self Challenge- Accepted
Day Three.
Loving the Self Challenge
If you love yourself, you love everybody else as you do yourself. As long as you love another person less than you love yourself, you will not really succeed in loving yourself but if you love all alike, including yourself, you will love them as one person and that person is both God and man.

We are at war! :ninja:
Just living a "normal" live is a challenge in everything; family, school, education, relationships, business, career, you name it...
despite all the challenge we prevail sort of, we take the hits and move on... with some scars, from some we are proud of...
We are now at war in all fronts, in war you get pause only to eat(maybe)...
But now we are in THE Ultimate War,the ONE we all here knew is coming ... and we were prepared for!
that's why we were frenetic seeking until we found this place, to find other warriors!
unfortunately in every war there are "collateral damages", those are the people that never challenge anything, because don't came on TV...
Well, sorry , the hour is late, there is no instant karma, awakening is a piece of work you need to do it for yourself, that's what a warrior do.
But, you know what? we will prevail as always do! :muscle: that's why the pressure don't stop...

I like challenges, it's motivating yourself to follow a goal until the finish and then start another one.
Soon I will reveal this challenge to you, a little thing for success on oneself
