14 things everyone needs to know about the Great American Eclipse of 2024
We're just over three months away from what many believe will be the most spectacular total solar eclipse in U.S. history. It's being called the "Great American Eclipse of 2024", and millions of Americans will be taking the time to travel to see it in person.
By April, mainstream news will be filled with stories about this eclipse, making it hard for anyone to ignore what's happening. In this article, I'm going to share 14 things everyone needs to know about the Great American Eclipse of 2024...
#1 This is a total solar eclipse that will occur on April 8, 2024.
#2 The path of the eclipse will cross parts of the states of Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee, Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine.
#3 The path of the eclipse will also cross parts of Mexico and Canada.
#4 This eclipse is expected to be the most observed astronomical event in our nation's history.
#5 According to the Washington Post, more than 30 million Americans will be able to simply leave their homes and experience this eclipse...
"This will be the most populated eclipse in the U.S., with 31.5 million people able to simply get out of their homes and experience this event," said Kelly Korreck, NASA 2024 total solar eclipse program manager, at a press conference at the American Geophysical Conference union.
#6 They tell us this eclipse could be "the biggest mass travel event" of 2024....
The event could also be the biggest mass travel event in the U.S., according to the Great American Eclipse website. Several major cities very close to the path of totality are St. Louis, Cincinnati, Detroit, Toronto and Quebec City. Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore and Washington, DC are also within 200 miles of the direct path.
#7 Those in the direct path of the eclipse will notice that the air temperature suddenly becomes about 10 degrees cooler once the moon completely blocks out the sun.
#8 The path of the Great American Eclipse of 2024 will cross the United States on the first day of the Hebrew calendar year.

The New Madrid earthquakes were the largest earthquakes in U.S. history. They occurred in the central Mississippi Valley, but were felt as far away as New York, Boston, Montreal and Washington DC. President James Madison and his wife Dolly felt them at the White House.

Church bells rang in Boston. From December 16, 1811 to March 1812, there were more than 2,000 earthquakes in the central Midwest and between 6,000 and 10,000 earthquakes in the Bootheel region of Missouri, where New Madrid is located near the junction of the Ohio and Mississippi rivers.

In the known history of the world, no other earthquake has lasted as long or produced as much evidence of damage as the New Madrid quakes. Three of the quakes appear on the list of largest earthquakes in the United States: the first on December 16, 1811, with a magnitude of 8.1 on the Richter scale; the second on January 23, 1812, at 7:8 a.m.; and the third on February 7, 1812, with a magnitude of up to 8.8.

December 16, 1811, 8:15 UTC (2:15 am local time): M 7.2–8.2,[11][12] epicenter in what is now northeast Arkansas.

January 23, 1812, 15:00 UTC (9:00 am local time): M 7.0–8.0,[11][12] epicenter in the Missouri Bootheel.

February 7, 1812, 9:45 UTC (3:45 am local time): M 7.4–8.6, epicenter near New Madrid, Missouri. The town of New Madrid was destroyed. In St. Louis, Missouri, many houses were severely damaged and their chimneys were toppled.

Ah, right. Not sure about how they will be affected, but the 3 states in the US in the path of the 2044 eclipse will be Montana, North and South Dakota.


Totality will be visible across the Northwest Territories and Alberta as well as extreme southwestern Saskatchewan in Canada, and will be widely visible in Montana and parts of North Dakota and South Dakota in the United States of America; partiality will be visible throughout the western United States near sunset and in Siberia.

My spidy senses are tingling as well. Just as they were with the pandemic. We have had these events in the past with little or no fanfare.
I read today that all non essential businesses will be closed. Schools will be closed. We are to stock up on provisions to avoid traffic caused
by those viewing the eclipse. Not sure what to make of it. Hopefully I'm paranoid.

When I watched the first video on Radi's post... and what was said about 'Zombie Deer Disease' (virus?) Then I thought I'd randomly look up flamingo disease/virus because flamingos turned up in the swimming pool in the story as well....and that MIGHT be a big hint about something - ie connected to the eclipse... and there is a thing regarding flamingos and a serious computer virus where a Youtuber called 'Flamingo' is involved - I personally don't think it's too much of a stretch that something regarding a bio weapon attack and a computer virus attack might be on the cards....maybe connected to the eclipse - they might even try to blame the eclipse for it all...? I apologize I haven't read thru the thread yet but I've already learned a lot about the April 8 eclipse . I live right in the middle of the X ! I would leave but I'm not sure at this point if it is going to happen on the 8th or 30 to 40 day's later. We are being judged that day or at least that is what prophecy says, that doesn't mean he's delivering judgment that day. But I do have a feeling it will be soon after or it could be that day. Something's Up: Another City Declares "Emergency" over April 8 Solar Eclipse

There's something creepy going on in connection with the coming solar eclipse on April 8 and it warrants our attention: Numerous cities have declared states of emergency . . . for an eclipse???? No, there's more to this than we're being told . . .

This weekend, Niagara Falls Canada declared a state of emergency for the coming solar eclipse on April 8, as 1 million people are expected to flood the area.

The Ontario side of the falls has started to prepare for the expected influx in visitors coming to see the total social eclipse in early April.

The famous falls have been listed by National Geographic as one of the best places to see the eclipse – a phenomena not seen in the area since 1979. The city is within the path where the moon will entirely block the sun for a few minutes.

Mayor Jim Diodati estimated the city would see the most visitors in a single day on April 8 with an estimated 1 million expected. On average, the city see 14 million visit per year.

The state of emergency, which was announced Thursday, will allow the city to execute additional planning to help prepare for traffic jams, cell phone network overloads, and a higher need for emergency services, and more.

BELL COUNTY, TX - Way back on February 22, Bell County Texas issued a local state of emergency, anticipating a significant surge in visitors and strained resources.

The county expects its population of 400,000 to double in the days leading up to and after the eclipse, "due to our location in the Path of Totality," when the moon completely covers the sun.

The county expects traffic congestion, fuel shortages and strains on first responders, hospitals, and food. The declaration will help the county coordinate with the state Department of Emergency Management if state assistance is needed.

The declaration also requires property owners to register with the county if they are hosting events like watch parties or camping for more than 50 people, as well as provide "adequate" bathroom and waste disposal facilities.

Bell County says registration information will help public safety officials and first responders during a period when roads and highways may be stressed, and responders may be impeded by population conditions.

TRAVIS COUNTY, TX -- On March 10, Travis County said it would take emergency measures ahead of the total solar eclipse set to take place in exactly one month.

Kaufman County, TX -- On March 27 Officials in Kaufman County issued a disaster declaration ahead of the April 8 total solar eclipse, saying they expect the county's population to double and for traffic to be a major issue.

"Our current population is somewhere around 200,000. We're expecting another 200,000," Steve Howie said. Howie is the Kaufman County Emergency Management Coordinator. "We can't handle 400,000 vehicles and people in this county in one quick spurt like that. So, it's a huge concern."

The declaration was in anticipation of large crowds, increased traffic and strains on first responders, hospitals and roads related to the eclipse. Travis County Judge Andy Brown issued the declaration.

ELSEWHERE IN TEXAS -

More communities across the Lone Star have issued disaster declarations due to the threat their populations might triple as spectators around the U.S. grapple with what locale will have the best view of the Great North American Eclipse.

Officials in Kerr, Bell and Travis counties have stated that disaster declarations or state of emergencies will go into effect before a rush of visitors swarm the Central Texas communities on April 8.

In Pittsburg, with a population of about 4,500, city leaders are expecting double or triple that number of people to be around town for the days leading up to the eclipse and on April 8, Mayor David Abernathy said.

First responders are anticipating more need for their services because of the high number of people in the area. Yet those calls might not go through if cell phone and internet networks are overloaded with people, Abernathy said. That’s the “worst-case scenario,” he said.

“Everybody's going to be streaming video,” Abernathy said. “They're going to be talking to their friends. They're going to be in the downtime ... downloading movies. And so, just that onslaught of people is just going to overload the system that's designed for certain population.

“When you start losing communications, like cell phones, which almost everybody relies on now for emergency messages for contacting relatives or calling their employees back to work … then you're just back in the 1800s, basically.”

If cellular networks go down, people might not be able to get calls through to 911 in the event of an emergency. However, if calls won’t go through because cellular networks are overloaded, people might be able to text 911.

In the event of a cellular network collapse, local radio stations will provide needed information, Abernathy said. City officials will post information around town listing the stations that people should tune into for emergency information.

If internet networks slow down or collapse because of high use, credit card machines might not work. The City of Mount Pleasant advises people to bring cash with them to make purchases.

Grocery stores could run out of food because of the higher-than-normal number of people in a given community, Abernathy said. And with the higher influx of vehicles, gas stations are likely to run out of fuel as travelers enter and exit the region.

Man-made electromagnetic signals, normally, are drowned out, to an extent, by the 'white noise' of the electromagnetic radiation coming at us from the sun. I've had this argument with people who tut tut my concerns about 5G/WiFi/etc signals by saying non of those signals are as powerful as the radiation from sun. I reply saying the sun electromagnetic radiation is ALL frequencies across the spectrum all at once, therefore it doesn't cause resonations in our body chemistry.

The full spectrum white noise radiation from the sun will, for a short time at any specific location be reduced to little or nothing leaving a very low 'noise floor' environment in which to broadcast ( locally, and probably computer tracking controlled ) nefarious signals to activate or operate whatever mysterious nano tech' was injected into some proportion of the population over the last 3 years.

Eurika ! . . . something just struck me.

Man-made electromagnetic signals, normally, are drowned out, to an extent, by the 'white noise' of the electromagnetic radiation coming at us from the sun. I've had this argument with people who tut tut my concerns about 5G/WiFi/etc signals by saying non of those signals are as powerful as the radiation from sun. I reply saying the sun electromagnetic radiation is ALL frequencies across the spectrum all at once, therefore it doesn't cause resonations in our body chemistry.

So, here we are with the first solar eclipse since the injections roll out. The full spectrum white noise radiation from the sun will, for a short time at any specific location be reduced to little or nothing leaving a very low 'noise floor' environment in which to broadcast ( locally, and probably computer tracking controlled ) nefarious signals to activate or operate whatever mysterious nano tech' was injected into some proportion of the population over the last 3 years.

Dr Rashid Buttar died mysteriously during the week following his release of a short video claiming an insider told him there was still an unactivated payload from the injections that was going to be activated through the '5G systems'.

Plenty of doctors and investigators have talked about the possibility that diseases ( or their symptoms ) can be dialled up from a menu and generated by electromagnetic signals transmitted to the people with the mysterious injection contents in their bodies.

The most perfect environment to do that would be when full spectrum electromagnetic noise is absent or at a minimum.

A worthwhile enquiry to undertake would be to find out more details of exactly what the local governments are going to be doing at the time that the full eclipse passes through their areas.

Are they doing things to silence as much as possible all other man made electromagnetic signals, for the duration of the broadcast of whatever signal might be the activation signal ?

I suggest that people in these areas who have the equipment and ability to measure what electromagnetic signals are happening do so, and record it.


Norman, I have always held deep respect for your analysis. I have to say this is friggin brilliant. Of course, we can hope you are wrong, but this is the way we need to expand our thinking. So much of this rings true and we have found we can never underestimate the opponent. We have to gather much of our information intuitively, which I am sure you are doing, outside of simply the human, brain realm.

Even if the event doesn't occur this way, you would make a magnificent sci-fi writer. I would be glued to a book/movie with this premise.

I still remember the desperation, while everything (but weed shops and grocery stores) were shut down, there was still the mad dash to keep 5G going up at full speed. I love a good mystery, thanks Norman. I went shopping yesterday. I try to make these trips as rare as possible. I couldn't help but notice a number of younger kids in the store with parents (spring break, I believe). There were a number of them making very quirky bizarre movements. At first, I thought I had just witnessed them being silly, but seeing them multiple times while in the store, they continued to make these movements. I have to agree!!! Never, ever let a good distraction go to waste... go figure.

The other side of the equation is, make a big deal about something so many times that something that is usually quite lackluster at the end of the day then take big advantage of the possibilities it really provides while everyone has their eclipse glasses on looking for a moments rush of adrenaline.

To build one, all you need are a few household supplies: a box (a shoebox will work), a small piece of tinfoil, a white sheet of paper, tape, a pin or needle and a box cutter or X-Acto knife.

To test your viewer, take it outside on a sunny day and hold the shoebox so that it lines up with its own shadow, aligning with light from the sun. Stand so that when you look through the viewing hole, you can see a tiny circle of light on the image screen; that's the sun. April 8's total solar eclipse is approaching fast.

Millions of people along the path of totality will be viewing the total eclipse, meaning millions of pairs of eyes will gazing up at the sun for hours as the eclipse unfolds. When it comes to solar observation, safety is paramount as viewing the sun directly and without protection can cause serious and long-term damage to your eyes.

That's why ahead of the once-in-a-lifetime natural phenomenon, the American Astronomical Society (AAS) is warning people of about the risks of counterfeit and knock-off solar glasses. 

The AAS says there is a way in which you can test your solar glasses before using them for the event.

If you wear them inside, you shouldn't be able to see anything except for very bright lights, but they will appear faint. If you can see things like pictures on the wall then the glasses are not dark enough for solar viewing.

If they pass that indoor test, you can take them outdoors and have a look around. Again, you shouldn't be able to see anything when wearing eclipse glasses other than the sun's reflection off a reflective surface and again, it should appear faint. If your glasses fail any of these home tests, you should either try and get a refund or discard them.

This life has shown to me that some rare celestial events influence or wholly hijack our life on Earth . “By accounting for the topography of both the moon and the Earth, precise eclipse prediction has brought new attention to a tiny but real uncertainty about the size of the sun,” NASA heliophysics scientist Abbey Interrante told the Nexstar news agency over the weekend.

Luca Quaglia, who collaborates with Mr. Irwin, told the wire service that older eclipse calculations use a solar radius of 959.63 arc seconds. But Mr. Quaglia said it may be too small.

“Measurements and observations in the last decade have demonstrated that this value is slightly too small,” he told Forbes, adding that Mr. Irwin uses a solar radius of 959.95 arc seconds, which, according to the Forbes article, will cut about 2,000 feet from the path of totality’s edges.

Another NASA scientist also made note of the potential change.

“Calculations that use a slightly larger radius for the size of the sun yield an eclipse path that is slightly narrower,” Michael Kirk, a NASA research scientist, told the Thrillist website on April 3. “This difference would only affect cities on the very edge of the path of totality, where blanket predictions are difficult, regardless.

“A few city blocks one way or the other could mean 20, 10, or zero seconds of totality.”

The zone of totality for the April 8 eclipse may also be impacted by “uncertainty in the Earth’s rotation,” he told the outlet.“ That’s because ”traveling towards the center of the path of totality—even a mile or two—will quickly increase the length of totality that people can see,” Mr. Kirk said.

We just had 92% coverage here where I'm at in northern michigan , this photo was just taken in toledo where my son in law went down to see the 100% coverage. I felt a steady dizzy when the sun was getting covered but when it started opening felt a rejuvenation.

I am in a room with CNN on the television for the last 2 hours, with continuous coverage of the eclipse as the moment of totality passes through different parts of the North American continent. When I first turned on the TV, it was in Mexico and now it has worked it's way up to Vermont. it is not my choice to have CNN on (yuck :ohwell:), but there is an interesting narrative going on here. It is all about love and unity. Couples are getting married. People are gathering together and laughing. Everyone is having a peak experience (at least, they want to convey this while they are on CNN for 15 seconds.) One commentator gave a speech about how there are no red states and no blue states. CNN has taken a holiday from blaming all the events on the world on either Trump or Putin or Hamas.

I am thinking when was the last time I heard this narrative on CNN? That would have been in 2001, after the 9/11 incidents when we were told that everyone in American was a New Yorker and that we were all one united people.

This feel-good media narrative was we all need to get together and support our leaders. This boosted the popularity of George W. Bush (whose approval levels were amazingly low after only 9 months in office) and this good will was used to bankroll Middle East Wars, a new Orwellian security state, and dramatically increase the budget size of the U.S. federal government.

I am sure that most of the newscasters are either completely sincere in their joy, or guilty of nothing more than effecting a fake smile and upbeat mood as they gaze into the camera, doing there job. But someone is telling them how to cover this event, and behind that someone, lurks something rather sinister.

Just heard this quote: "As a nation, we are all looking up and having a shared experience. Perhaps we can take this all together and have some unity" and hearing how this is a "shared experience" which "will inspire the next generation."

I wonder if they will continue on with the "love and unity" narrative in the next fews days, and what the event will be where they use this narrative to get us behind something?

The "translucent cloudiness" that I mentioned occurred all morning and through the afternoon eclipse. It's my short term for a thin chemtrail white haze "mixed" with a bit if definined light clouds for which you can somewhat see the sun through. The white blob anomaly of the CoD map that travelled that path of the eclipse is interesting and I can only suspect why; I doubt that the blob itself is artificially produced cloud cover. You spurred me on to contact CoD for an explaination. :sun:

We headed for an appt. in town yesterday morning, and the chem in the sky was crazy on our drive to town. X's and criss-crossing trails everywhere. But they seemed to dissipate, and were not spreading into cloud-cover, luckily. Usually, they they spread into mucky white haze, but this time they just weren't working.
haha - we laughed at how they were apparently thwarted, saying "Coises - foiled again!"

Once home again, instead of heading to a viewing point with crowds, we were able to simply stick our beach chairs in the front yard for the event, and relax with our glasses, beverages, and some welder plates and enjoy.

Here, the birds continued to chirp back and forth the whole time, and sounded nice. We did feel the temperature drop from low 80's to high 70's, and that was reflected by the thermometer on the front wall.
As totality approached, it was fun to watch the solar lights on the lawn come on one-by-one.

During the actually totality, we saw a few of the brighter stars pop out, and also noted a small bright dot at the very bottom of the sun. We weren't quite sure what that was, and figured we'd look it up later. (maybe a planet?)

Oddly, everyone locally who I talked to afterwards seemed to be relaxed and even very sleepy after the eclipse, young and old. Many expressed the need for a nap, including me!

All in all, it was lovely and mellow here for us, and a very enjoyable experience.

Having been brought up in an academic environment, with two university professors as parents, I came to my own conclusion that we most likely live in a closed system (terrarium) where the two main celestial bodies are local and non-physical while the dome above is liquid (could be condensed Helium, glowing blue from Sun's IR emissions). We probably live in those times meant to be as a lesson on how life without God would be. And we are probably being globally governed by demonic possessed individuals, all colluding on targeting God's creations: humans, animals, plants ,water and air.

Going on space missions and "probing Uranus" serves two purposes: it allows for a massive public funds embezzlement and it fuels the infinite and chaotic universe theory pushing us further away from creation and God.
