An Illinois court on Monday threw Rahm Emanuel's name off the Chicago mayoral ballot, possibly ending the former White House chief of staff's bid to lead his hometown.
By a 2-to-1 vote, an appellate panel overturned two previous decisions and ruled that

Emanuel is not eligible to run because he moved to Washington D.C. for two years.
"We conclude that the candidate neither meets the municipal code's requirement that he have 'resided' in Chicago for the year preceding the election in which he seeks to participate nor falls within any exception to the requirement," said the majority opinion by justices Thomas E. Hoffman and Shelvin Louise Marie Hall. (Read the court decision here (http://big.assets.huffingtonpost.com/rahm-ruling.pdf).)

The decision came less than a month before the Feb. 22 election, and the chairman of the Chicago board of election commissioners said he will do as he was told: "We're going to press with one less candidate for mayor," Langdon D. Neal said in a statement.

This is excellent news for the City of Chicago. And it is about time the a court has made a ruling that is correct!

I wouldn't count him out yet. He is appealing the ruling and going up to State Court.
He has 10million fresh U.S. Dollars to have the Courts see it another way. Don't be surprised if He gets on the ballot. That's Chicago politics baby. And He will reassure everyone it was just a misunderstanding.

Shy,

I agree. However, we can only pray that the people there give him a big FU and do not elect him!

Supreme Court agrees to hear appeal of ruling knocking Rahm off ballot

The Illinois Supreme Court has agreed to hear the appeal of a court decision that knocked Rahm Emanuel out of the mayoral race.
The court will not accept any new legal briefs or even hear oral arguments on the case. Instead, the court will rely on the briefs already filed at the appellate court level.

Earlier, the Supreme Court ordered the Chicago Board of Election Commissioners to put Emanuel’s name back on the mayoral ballot while it considered Emanuel’s appeal of Monday’s Illinois Appellate Court ruling that tossed him out of the race to replace Mayor Daley. But the Supreme Court granted Emanuel’s motion for a stay of the ruling.

Of course it was inevitable that Rahm gets his Mayorship. It was probably in the bag before he "sacrificed" his seat in the House to go control the Obama White House in service to his masters. And as for the Illinois "supreme" Court, what a pity they have placed themselves above even their fake Admiralty Law to give Rahm his opportunity to wallow happily as THE No. 1 Pig In The Trough of Chicago politics.

And yes, Rahm WILL be elected.

I've no idea why Chicago is in need of such dirty politics with such a long history of it.

What is with the burning need for the evil to be running so dang hard in Chicago?

Anyone?

This is a great question and the answer is definitely worth researching. There does seem to be some connection between the mind-boggling dirty public aura in regards inbred corruption and the University of Chicago. Seems as if that's a hotbed of illuminati instruction, which is pumped energetically into the local governing centers and thruout Illinois (and America)via a healthy alumni network which is just as rich in power brokers as Yale's Skull and Bones. How it all fits together I haven't a clue.
