View Full Version : The Russian 'Skinny Bob' ET video

As best I know, we've not had an Avalon discussion about this enigma, which some suggest may be leaked KGB film from the 1950s/1960s, or maybe just a few feet of film recorded surreptitiously by a Soviet whistleblower.
For the record, I do have to say it's my opinion that this is very likely genuine.
The problem for researchers is that almost nothing is known about the provenance of the video(s), which first appeared on the internet back in 2011. The person 'ivan0135' who released the four short videos never published anything else before or since. His channel is here (https://www.youtube.com/@ivan0135/videos).

Here's another video presenting all that seems to be known on the topic. Of course, other members may well be able to contribute more that might be helpful.

A favorite topic of mine, parts feel incredibly real, parts feel cgi. The blinking eyes is where I really stumble and the "film" sometimes seems digitally done (scratch marks, etc). I'm certainly not an expert on cgi; if cgi, well done and thought out, especially since its years old now. Worried its more of a speed bump then a progression of the UFO topic ( BUT what isn't without any confirmation?) the video is well worth the time and a discussion here is overdo. I suppose I worry its another alien autopsy type video, where at a cursory quick look and first glance it seems legit, but with time falls a bit a part. Not saying those are all fake either.
A portion where the craft is flying also makes me feel its (or parts of the film) are fake, but again, no idea. Can't wait to hear what Avalon comes up with.
Alot to say; I'm 50/50 on it.

I remember we did have a small discussion about it a while ago in another thread about alien races. And yes, Skinny Bob deserves a thread of his/her/its own for sure. :alien: :sun:
On an internet forum many years ago (topic astral projection) there was this guy named 'Beedekin' who did special effects for cinema, CGI and real life effects, I can say he was real because he posted some of his work in the forum (believe it or not, mostly about alien creatures).
He steadfastly maintained that this has to be real since he could not explain how it was done by CGI or slim and little people in sophisticated costumes alone.
This post still can be retrieved from the Astral Pulse Forums. Here is the link (from 2013, so it was 2 years after the Ivan videos were first published in 2011) and the text copied:

I'm still waiting for more 'Skinny Bob' footage to surface.
I saw this same 'alien' in different footage back in 1995/6 before decent digital CGI technology was available. It is an unmistakable design and as a film industry and special effects professional I still stand by the claims that it's the real thing.
It's 2 years old now and still no one has come out of the woodwork to claim they did it. No film or documentary has been released showing a reason for such (if fake) AMAZING quality digital and practical effects.
No one has debunked it satisfactorily and anyone who claims its CGI needs their eyes washing out with soap and water.
https://youtube.com/watch?v=3pgTBz-R_XA&list=UUzJ1dolFZi8x7Y41gOnTtEA&index=2
The footage is misleading in the sense that it isn't a russian caught 'EBE'.
Also I did a light blast on Photoshop that revealed its eyes to be not as big as the video looks.
So, if it is a fake after all it is VERY well done, especially for that time (2011 or prior). And it confused at least one who was a professional expert in this area. Don't know what he meant with the supposedly similar footage of 1995 though.
Intriguing for sure.

I've always thought genuine too. In the initial video release it hinted at seven videos, though only four ever surfaced. One wonders if ivan0135 got shut down.

I'm no expert and my only thought is "how would a female ET give birth to such a disproportionately large head?" Humans are right on the limit but this is way past it.

Many abductees and contactees have reported that the infant large-headed Gray ETs are cultured (grown) in tanks.

In the OP video @38 seconds we see... what I tend to think could be a petri dish with 'something' growing on it (in fact there appear to be 4 somethings....) and there is also the shadow of what looks like someone in military uniform...
what is being conveyed...?
are they saying that Skinny Bob was cloned - or a hybrid (human/alien) was created...?... by the military...?
this is just speculation about why that bit with what looks like a petri dish (to me but it could be something else...)....was put in ....

Did large heads just 'grow', or was there an environment that was adapted to ?
If adaptation, what kind of environment caused that adaptation, natural or artificial ?

Neoteny - possibly us from the future.
Neoteny delaying development of an organism over time which happens to us (humans) - given enough time our bodies in the future look like our offspring. I'm BUTCHERING that, but that's a basic frame work

Whenever I see something like this , I ask myself, to who's benefit for this to be faked. If faked, Im sure it took time, work, effort money and resources. Had to be good enough , not to get smoked out immediately. That takes skill and effort, no?
In time, we are going to learn that some real looking stuff is fake, and some fake looking stuff turned out to be real.

The hooded critter I saw in the 90's was much smaller - 4.5 feet at most. Dirty, hooded and with smaller and much more round piggy like eyes. Skin almost see through and loose like on a featherless young sparrow chick with barbs on it's arms, like hairs on a flies legs. Fingers like claws on a bird but straight not curled.
Could be one of many types but this is not what I saw - even if you put a hooded cloak on it !
Skin looked like saggy bandage wrapped tightly around its face contours and forearm. Colour was like a squeezed out dried tea bag. Grey/Brown.
Thing looked dirty like any muck was never going to bother it.
Nothing like the advanced being you'd imagine.

As I watched Skinny Bob gracefully blink his eye, this video flashed through my mind, especially the part around 4:15:
EY69-S7O9Mo
That seemed like my intuition telling me that this is a mechanical creation. If the technology could have been utilized in 1907 to make a pig's face come to life, what could be done 50 or 100 years later to create fake grey aliens.
In the video Bill posted by Bob Kiviat (Objects Unknown - The Skinny Bob Mystery (https://youtube.com/watch?v=hRCO9GAx3Sg)), Kiviat says that if this is a hoax, someone went through a lot of trouble to make it. I had the same reaction when reading the Serpo material, thinking that if the texts I was reading were hoaxed, that it had to have been a project that would have involved many people, with expertise on a number of subjects, not to mention good imagination and writing skills. I asked: who had the time and energy and resources to create such a thing? But then I realized, there was indeed an entity that had the time, money, resources, and a purpose, to create such a hoax.
In 2006, an anonymous source named "Chapman" started to post on the same UFO newsgroup that had been discussing the Serpo materials. Chapman claimed that he had been in the British Ministry of Defense and stated that Serpo files were real government documents but the events they told of were fictitious. The story had been written by Alice Bradley Sheldon (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Tiptree_Jr.) , sci-fi writer who used the pseudonym James Tiptree Jr. She worked for military intelligence during WWII and reached rank of major. After the war she worked for the CIA. In the 1960's, U.S. intelligence had heard rumors stories that the Soviets had nuclear weapons in underground facilities near populated American cities. They were concerned that the rumors were true, although they also suspected that this might be fake info created by the Russians (and in the 1980's found indeed that it was a fake story.) So, in retaliation, the CIA created the fake Serpo story, to convince Russians it had advanced technology from aliens. Russians believed this for a time, but eventually decided the Serpo story was bunk.
Whether or not "Chapman" was really part of the British Defense Department, whether or not he knew his story was a lie, or even it was something that he believed to be true but heard a hoaxed story, it is evident that both the Soviet Union and the United States of America would want to confuse each other about their capabilities to conduct war and the technology they possessed, and that manufacturing hoaxes would be a great way to confuse the enemy.
It is easy for me to believe that the Skinny Bob videos were created by the Soviet Union to convince the nuclear powers of U.S.A., Great Britain and France, that they just might have technology given to them by aliens, or that they might have some kind of protection from them.

Kryztian - I think you hit the nail on the head.
I think major Gov's know "they" exist - but neither know what they are or what the other side had learnt about them - i.e. NOTHING of strategic importance in their quests.
So they play and continue to play the "We have this .." psyop games with each other.
I'm sure they all really have a bigger picture but for now at least they're content to continue play the game of one upmanship with each other.
I think these things are not as advanced as we give them credit for !
You can teach a 3yr old to milk a cow and these things are like inter dimensional gnats !
As far as Skinny bob goes - I think its part of the MIC from one side or another. Spooks will spook but a real "Critter" visit will really spook you !

One other thing to note in my experience is that one had no nose - but another of the same had what looked like a floppy proboscus kind of nose - like a crooked saggy elephants trunk appendage that I felt was for feeding and could extend.
Mouth was just a creased slit that I never saw open so can't say if it was real or not.
I leave it at that.

It looks very much like the ETs in Travis Walton's abduction as shown in the paintings in UFO Contact from Reticulum (plus Update book) by Wendell Stevens as well as William Herrmann's experience in the first book.
I've recovered the memories of many abductions by the usual-looking "Grays" but never these guys.

This is also confirmed by the special effect expert's analysis of the eyes I quoted from above (https://projectavalon.net/forum4/showthread.php?122657-The-Russian-Skinny-Bob-ET-video&p=1599522&viewfull=1#post1599522).
"Also I did a light blast on Photoshop that revealed its eyes to be not as big as the video looks."
These 'eyes' might be a mix between real eyes' protection and technical vision enhancements.

I Want To Believe.
But I am going to go against the flow here and state that in my opinion this is a 3D animation.
In fact I actually never realised this was claimed to be real footage. I simply assumed that 'ivan0135' was someone who set up a YouTube channel in order to showcase their 3D work with a UFO-themed project. Even the slick introductory captions on the videos were created by someone who had access to post-production software and who knew what they were doing.
Would an old filmreel from the 1940s to 1960s time period have such digital timestamps and with that particular font? The font looks too contemporary.
In comparison, the timestamp on Victor's 'Alien Interview' video looks more 'retro' and actually looks like a genuine timestamp – and that was purportedly filmed decades later.
On an internet forum many years ago (topic astral projection) there was this guy named 'Beedekin' who did special effects for cinema, CGI and real life effects, I can say he was real because he posted some of his work in the forum (believe it or not, mostly about alien creatures).

In time, we are going to learn that some real looking stuff is fake, and some fake looking stuff turned out to be real.
Sure, it would take time and effort. But affordable software is readily available to create this. One commenter on the YouTube video claims that it would take "a million dollar budget" to create this. This is preposterous.
Anyone proficient in 3D animation and post-production with a few years experience under their belt could create this on a PC in their home studio – even 20+ years ago. Model a 3D skin, add a working bone system, add a genuine motion capture file for the smooth movement and add individual controllers on elements that require detailed movement such as the eyelids. Adding grain, interference lines and a black and white 'old film reel' filter in post-production could easily hide any modelling imperfections.
I taught myself 3D animation from the late 1990s to the early 2000s and my university dissertation, that is now over 20 years old, was titled "An Approach to Independent 3D Animation Production": http://www.andrzejb.net/honours/
In my free time whilst I was in my 20s I often modelled and made 3D animations of aliens and UFOs and they were quite convincing but I would never think of muddying the waters and publish them claiming they are real. And if I did I am sure that some would believe they are.
For example, in late 2009 I created this animated re-enactment of the 'The Lonnie Zamora Incident' in only a few nights: CgNVtByUZhw
If I spent more time on it I could have made it more 'real'.
Another video I created is here: WSIluqgFTng
It is also worth to mention that in 2006, Australian filmmaker Christopher Kenworthy created a project ultimately titled 'Australian UFO Wave 2006: Experimental Film Project'. The videos were CGI creations but most who viewed his videos and left comments were convinced that the videos were genuine.
His later videos became more and more incredible and he then burst the bubble revealing that his project was an experiment to test people's reactions.
His websites which are no longer online were the following:
http://www.australianufowave.com/
http://www.christopherkenworthy.com/ufo.html
https://web.archive.org/web/20060901045034/http://www.australianufowave.com/
https://web.archive.org/web/20080116004639/http://www.christopherkenworthy.com/ufo.html
These comments were sent to us before the fictional nature of the project was revealed, many from respected UFO researchers.
'This is real. Nothing could change my mind...'
'I belive it is real.'
'Wow. These clips are of the best I have ever seen.'
'None of the clips look fake.'
'Now the government will have to take notice.'
'AWESOME videos!'
'Best footage on the web!!'
'We absolutely love your site. What stunning footage.'
'There are some really great videos coming out of Australia some very amazing footage.'
''These sightings look real. I have seen many cgi created ufo sightings and these seem to be real.'
'I do work in the FX industry....I've seen the videos, none of them stand out as being obviously fake.'
'The best UFO footage I've seen.'
'They all seem legitimate, there's nothing that gives any away as being faked.'
''They blew me away. I won't go into what they are but I'm 99.99% certain that many of those objects in those films are really up in the sky at the time of filming.'
'Not since Roswell...'
Similar comments to the above are being left on the 'Skinny Bob' video.
In the Travis Walton case the aliens in-charge on the craft were the Nordic-types (he was greeted by one in a fishbowl-style helmet in the planetarium room). The grays he encountered in the examination room seemed like worker drones subservient to the Nordic-types.
And as for the visible irises and pupils perhaps these grays were not wearning their lenses.
And the documentary on the William Herrmann case that you mention happens to be on my YouTube channel too:

Skinny Bob a forensic analysis
skinnybob.info (https://skinnybob.info)
FOREWORD
We present a detailed analysis of allegedly leaked UFO and alien footage. This time it's not about lights in the sky or anecdotal reports but unambiguous imagery.
Authentic evidence of extraterrestrial visitation would be among the most sensitive and closely guarded secrets kept by intelligence agencies around the world. Without an official disclosure process, the only way for the general public to tap into such knowledge is through whistle-blowers and occasional leaks. We might be dealing with such a leak here.
If your initial reaction is dominated by disbelief and ridicule, your brain is wired properly to live a healthy life in a complex world but perhaps not to unveil something truly exceptional far out in the fringe. In hope and prospect of doing so, we dare to peek into this rabbit hole with an open mind and expectation to witness initial absurdity becoming harsh reality.
Be careful with quick and overly confident assessments based on cursory inspection of the material and preconceived notions about the topic. Both credulity and premature rejection could be misleading. Promoting the possibility of Skinny Bob being authentic is a bet against all odds and bears the danger of getting carried away by a fantasy. But since unlikely things happen every once in a while, what if the truth is actually right in front of you?

Yes, what brilliant research on that site! A helluva lot of time and effort has gone into that!
They also mention the totally out of place digital timestamp with contemporary-looking font as I did! :clapping:
https://skinnybob.info/media/effects/timestamp.jpg
And they state that the font used is Microsoft Consolas which was released in 2006. (And yes, there is a way to backtrack and search fonts used.)
They also include a comparison with the timestamp used on Victor's 'Alien Interview'. Again as I mentioned, this looks like a genuine 'retro' timestamp – and the 'Alien Interview' was purportedly filmed decades later:
https://skinnybob.info/media/comparison_alien_interview_4.jpg
The exact 'old film reel' stock footage has also been identified: https://www.reddit.com/r/SkinnyBob/comments/kio7e6/fx_stock_footage_found_after_hours_of_research/?rdt=38316
It also turns out that the KGB logo screen was ripped from the 'The Secret KGB UFO Files' documentary (which I happen to have on DVD on my shelf).
https://skinnybob.info/media/effects/logo_censored.jpg
Despite these big red flags the skinnybob.info website is still open-minded arguing that even though Ivan 'doctored' the film by adding these post-production effects that doesn't mean the original film underneath is faked. But surely it does make it much more likely and calls into question the authenticity of all the footage associated with the release.
Once again, a 3D animator who is of intermediate-to-advanced skillset should be able to create something like this. It certainly won't take "a million dollar budget" to create something that looks half-convincing.
For example, the following is my 3D model of a gray alien I created over 20 years ago:

To add an 'old film reel' effect and adjust the layers literally only took me a matter of seconds:

“Frightening”, “critters”, "creatures”...
Strange words.
“Skinny Bob" – only Americans could come up with such a deprecating name - is, in my eyes, a real being.
***
He, or she, — (s)he – is very beautiful.
The extraordinarily spherical skull approaches perfection. The brain, that great receptor of the Universe’s messages, how has it plied the physical bone to an artist's dream of functionality as beauty!
The sense organs, all positioned in the front of that magnificent head, are soberly hinted at, and assembled as they should be on a limited space. Space is thus freed for the overwhelming presence of the sixth sense, the seventh sense, the eighth sense, the ninth sense, the tenth sense, the eleventh sense, and the twelfth sense.
In line with that, the other aspects of physicality are dwarfed comparatively. The body is there to serve and express everything, after all, and that everything is so much more than humans can accept.
So what those five sense organs (the stuttering eyelids!) express, beyond this being’s beauty, is inexhaustible wisdom.
To be in their presence would be blessing for life.
***
His opposable thumb is an opposable thumb.
Her three fingers do – at least – what our four fingers do.
How to call them then?
