Did anyone here stumbled upon "Huna"???
Could not found a thread about it.
Found those principles to be quite amazing, highly effective and they WORK!
Also, they move quite elegantly with religion and spirituality.
Copy paste it from the huna dot org, so I don' t have to speak for someone.:))))
Would also love to open dialogue about, for so much come up in it's simplicity.
Okay, here it is:
Huna Kupua
by Serge Kahili King
Huna is a Hawaiian word meaning "secret," but it also refers to the esoteric wisdom of Polynesia. Kupua is another Hawaiian word and it refers to a specialized healer who works with the powers of the mind and the forces of nature. In that respect it is very similar to the Siberian Tungusic word "shaman."
The understanding of Huna described here comes from the kupua tradition of the Kahili family from the island of Kauai, through Serge Kahili King, who was adopted as the grandson of Joseph Kahili and trained in his tradition.
The Seven Principles
The basic assumptions of Huna are these:
1. The World Is What You Think It Is.
2. There are no limits.
3. Energy Flows Where Attention Goes.
4. Now Is The Moment Of Power.
5. To Love Is To Be Happy With (someone or
something).
6. All Power Comes From Within.
7. Effectiveness Is The Measure Of Truth.
The Three Selves (or Four)
Another set of assumptions used in Huna is that human behavior and experience can be explained and changed through the interaction of three (sometimes four) selves, aspects or functions:
1. The High Self (Kane, Aumakua), inspires.
2. The Conscious Self (Lono) imagines.
3. The Subconscious Self (Ku) remembers.
4. The Core Self (Kanaloa) wills.
The Four Levels of Reality
A third set of assumptions coming from the kupua tradition divides all experience into four levels or frameworks of beliefs about reality which can be summarized as follows:
1. Everything is objective (Scientific reality).
2. Everything is subjective (Psychic reality).
3. Everything is symbolic (Shamanic reality).
4. Everything is holistic (Mystical reality).
The kupua (Hawaiian shaman) learns to move in and out of these realities in order to change experience more effectively.

thanks for this thread. Great video interview as well. I had not heard Mr King speak before but am a fan of his books which are every bit as crystal clear as his interview. The huna principles as he says are also ' just the way reality works' and may not be the ultimate and only summary but it is a very good one I think. A great reminder for me.

This is the video I stumbled upon about 10 years ago, explaining the 7 principles quite simple:

What I found so amazing about it, Is that those Principles doesn't want anything from me, don't impose anything upon me and above else I still can be "me" :))))
I see them as tools, and that's how I've used them.

I was drawn to an excellent book about Hawaiian shamanism many years ago. Also my past self cleverly highlighted any passages that hit a nerve, so today I can pick it up and learn the lesson again.

Hence the Source of it is already covered, figured to put this as a stand-alone post in this thread to keep the 7 Huna principles in perspective:
The World Is What You Think It Is. (Ike)
You create your own personal experience of reality through your beliefs, expectations, attitudes, desires, fears, judgments, feelings and consistent thoughts and actions.
There Are No Limits. (Kala)
There are no real boundaries between you and your body, you and other people, you and the world, or you and God. Separation is an illusion. And, there are unlimited potentials for creativity.
Energy Flows Where Attention Goes. (Makia)
The thoughts and feelings that you dwell on, in full awareness or not, form the blueprint for bringing into your life the nearest available equivalent experience to those same thoughts and feelings. Directed attention is the channel for the flow of biological as well as cosmic energy.
Now Is The Moment Of Power. (Manawa)
You are not bound by any experience of the past, nor by any perception of the future. You have the power in the present moment to change limiting beliefs and consciously plant the seeds for the future of your choosing. As you change your mind, you change your experience. There is no real power outside of you, for God is within.
To Love Is To Be Happy With. (Aloha)
The universe and human beings exist because of love. In Huna, love involves the creation of happiness. It is not just a side effect. Everything works better, and is better when this principle is followed consciously.
All Power Comes From Within. (Mana)
There is no power outside of you because the power of God or the Universe, works through you in your life. You are the active channel for that power;
your choices and decisions direct it. No other person can have power over you or your destiny unless you allow it.
Effectiveness Is The Measure Of Truth. (Pono)
In other words, all systems are arbitrary, so feel free to use what works.

I Love that Simplicity about Huna and somehow I always come back to it...A while ago, I went to the article page and the "Right/Left Split" had caught my attention (It's a one-pager)
https://www.huna.org/html/Right_LeftSplit-SKK721.pdf
It points out the right and left hemisphere of the brain, pertaining to the body and associated issues.
That was a huge revelation for me, did never thought about it this way and when looked at evereything i had issues with in my life (body)...it was always on one side!!! That, brought about a lot of clarity...And I went on instantly facing it, yep, that's in my nature:)))

An extention to the opening post regarding the "3 Selves".
Excerpt from the Book "Mastering the Hidden Self - by Serge Kahili King" p.37-41:
THE SUBCONSCIOUS
The roots of the word ku give us an interesting picture of the subconscious or Low Self from the kahuna point of view. The roots reveal among other things a self that can set up or establish things (like habits), that can change into something else or move from one state of experience into another, that likes to feel in control of situations, that may act spontaneously without regard for others, that can have positive or negative complexes, and that seeks peace, freedom, and relaxation. The root meanings of unihipili are very similar and include the ideas of acting as a servant, acting secretly or in a hidden way, and of becoming very attached to people, places, and certain ways of doing things. We have here from the Hawaiian language an excellent image of the subconscious that conforms very well to the understanding of modern Western psychology. It is discussed more fully in chapters 2 and 3.
The subconscious reasons like a computer, drawing conclusions from a given premise or experience. Contrary to some popular thinking, the subconscious is never illogical, irrational, or unreasonable. Everything it does is according to strict logic, but often we are not conscious of the premises that it uses to draw conclusions and undertake action. Also, the subconscious reasons both deductively (which means it can take a general principle or belief and apply it to specific situations) and inductively (which means it can take a specific experience and derive from it a general principle or belief). An example of the former might be a belief learned in childhood from one's parents that sex is bad. Unless the belief were changed, the subconscious would act accordingly in every specific sexual situation for the rest of one's life. An example might be a woman who had a bad experience with the first man in her life, and her subconscious acts as if all men are rotten from then on.
Memory is a function of the subconscious, in fact its only function, since all of its other functions derive from memory. When we consciously decide to remember something, we are actually eliciting the cooperation of our subconscious. If for some reason it doesn't cooperate, then we have that common experience of being unable to recall something that we are sure we know.
The subconscious is constantly communicating with the conscious mind, but our society has not put a high priority on this type of communication, so most people can't take advantage of this valuable resource. It “speaks” through dreams, imagination, feelings, physical sensations, and slips of the tongue.
THE CONSCIOUS SELF
The Hawaiian word for the conscious or Middle Self, lono, contains meanings of awareness, communication, desire, thought, and achievement. Uhane also contains the idea of giving life and spirit, or direction and purpose. One of the most important functions of the conscious mind is that of giving direction to the subconscious. It is amazing how many people believe that they are supposed to take orders from their subconscious. A feeling arises or a sensation occurs, and they think they must act on it. All that is happening, though, is that the subconscious is giving a message and waiting for direction. If no direction is forthcoming, the subconscious will act out of habit or according to someone else's direction. The conscious mind was intended to be the master, but seldom is. An important part of Huna practice is to regain this natural order.
The conscious self communicates through speech, writing or drawing, physical action, dramatization, and thought. It has the same reasoning capability as the subconscious, but it can also “jump” reason by creative insight. Probably the greatest talent of the conscious self is that of being able to imagine what isn't. The subconscious can only imagine what has been and create new combinations out of old experience, but the conscious self can create completely new ideas and experience.
THE SUPERCONSCIOUS
The superconscious or High Self is a dual entity, both male and female in a special way. The word aumakua carries the idea of a “parental spirit” and a “guardian.” The aumakua can also be called the “Source Self,” since it is the source of individual life, purpose and expression. In that respect it is the God Within, and the kahunas treat it as an inner being rather than as a spirit that lives in the sky someplace. For the individual it gives guidance, information, and inspiration, but does not give orders. It is sad to see someone waiting for his Higher Self to tell him what to do, because it just won't happen. Once the person decides for himself what to do, however, the superconscious makes available an abundance of ideas, knowledge, and energy to carry it out. Huna offers many ways of enhancing this inspirational contact.
The superconscious communicates through the channels used by the other two selves, as well as through direct inspiration. When this happens, you suddenly know something, and the knowing is accompanied by a deep sense of peace, or a peaceful kind of excitement.

Snippet of an article called :'Understanding Ho'oponopono | A Beautiful Hawaiian Prayer For Forgiveness '
'The Ho'oponopono healing comes in 4 basic steps:
I'm Sorry. -- (Saying sorry and admitting responsibility is the first part of the healing in Ho'oponopono. ...)
Forgive me. -- (Say, 'Please forgive me'. ...)
Thank you. -- ( Keep saying thank you repetitively. ...)
I love you.' '
'People struggle with the concept of forgiveness– both for themselves and for others– often find comfort in a deeply healing age-old practice that comes from Hawai’i. The beautiful Hawaiian Prayer for Forgiveness is called “Ho’oponopono” (pronounced HO-oh-Po-no-Po-no), and it’s lovely.
This ancient Hawaiian practice of forgiveness functions as both a communication concept for reconciliation and a tool for restoring self-love and balance.
In practice, it works sort of like a mantra for self-love. And, even more surprisingly, it’s super simple.
The word ho’oponopono roughly translates to “cause things to move back in balance” or to “make things right.” It’s a very zen concept. (In native Hawaiian language, “pono” means balance, in the sense of “life.” When things are in balance, nothing is off, so to speak.)
Accordingly, chanting this prayer over and over is a powerful way to cleanse the body of guilt, shame, haunting memories, ill will, or bad feelings that keep the mind fixated on negative thoughts.
As a forgiveness practice, it is also deeply resonant, as it tends to penetrate our inner monologue over time.
To try it out for yourself, and to “cleanse” yourself of bad feelings, chant the following mantra repeatedly while sitting with your eyes closed, as a kind of meditation.
The ho’oponopono prayer goes like this:
“I’m sorry, Please forgive me, Thank you, I love you.”
That’s it. And isn’t that something we all need to hear? “I’m sorry, Please forgive me, Thank you, I love you.” It’s very touching, especially given how simple and universal these words are.
With regular practice, reciting these four simple phrases helps develop self-love and self-esteem at the times when we need it most. In this way, it’s both a lullaby to the self and a guaranteed insightful way to approach forgiving other people.
Part of the reason why this traditional Hawaiian forgiveness prayer is so powerful is that it first requires you to acknowledge that wrong was done by saying you’re sorry.
Having other people acknowledge our feelings is a universal need; in ho’oponopono, you must first acknowledge that wrongdoing exists, which is a way of acknowledging these feelings. Only then will it be possible to find it in your heart to forgive someone else, or yourself.
In the final step, you acknowledge love– both for yourself, and others.
Most people, when attempting to forgive either others or themselves, make the mistake of thinking that forgiveness = total absolution, or an erasing of the wrongdoing. This is ultimately futile because it ignores hurt feelings, which inevitably bubble back up later if they are not addressed.'-https://metta365.com/blog/understandinghooponopono#:~:text=The%20ho'oponopono%20prayer%20goes,That's%20it.
