Do you trust the news you get?

First I realize that most people do not trust the MSM news. That is amazing after growing up listening to Walter Cronkite, Mike Wallace etc. on the big 3 networks. When did you stop believing the MSM news? For me it really started with Trump calling out the fake news. I always thought at least Fox news was somewhat "fair & balanced," how laughable today.. I dont trust any news anymore and if I did it would be a problem living under all the fear porn, but still have peace knowing to trust is in a higher power.

Apart from scanning the MSM headlines, on line, I don't do MSM at all. I NEVER watch TV news, I don't even know what channels carry them anymore. I have noticed, when I scan on line, that unlike years ago, many of the same stories are featured for 2 or 3 days in a row with no change at all. Short staff? Very noticeable.

My bull **** detector is 99% accurate, nobody is perfect...

I have never watched, listened to or read the news -as such. I sometimes listen to what people are saying about the world and world affairs ( though my tolerance for what typically gets said is admittedly low ). Anything that is important to be aware of will come to my attention this way. It is important almost solely to my realizing that groups of people are being challenged. Or that a change itself may be coming to the planet. I balance this against the natural world ( the world as it is [ directly before me ] without the news-streams- including those coming from people who are parroting and/or in some way expressing what got injected into them via the streams ). No, none of that is truly healthy, or helpful. It is the actual shot/jab most people are accepting on a regular, daily basis. This position may seem extreme. I know. -but it accurately relays what seems to me the truth of it.

This is a good question. No, I do not trust any of the media I am "consuming". I try to cover all fronts, to the best of my abilities, and find whatever degree of truth I can find based on my OWN feeling, intelligence, discernment and so on.

I try to look at the MSM media. This is pretty easy because it is the most popular everywhere and the same thing gets repeated over and over. I try to look at Redacted's youtube channel and they are doing a good job when they are reporting on news events. It gets tricky when they invite some expert (Scott Ritter is a frequent guest there for example). I enjoy these guests but exercise even more caution when listening to them. I also watch Democracy now on youtube.

These days I'm finding X to be a somewhat adequate news source. Of course I am also very thankful to the community here at avalon for keeping everyone updated regarding the world events. A special shoutout to Ravenlocke (https://projectavalon.net/forum4/member.php?8767-Ravenlocke) here.

I also try to pay attention to independent journalists (sometimes I doubt there are such btw) who have been kicked out from all kinds of media programmes and have also been kicked around by people, who trust the MSM media. If people hate you so much, then you must be doing something right.

Oh, substack is also nice for a more in depth analysis of some topics (like the covid vaccines). But at this point the fronts, as I call them, are way too much and I visit substack rarely.

In short - it is very difficult to stay informed when you trust no one. The most useful tool at our possession is our discernment.

My news I get on Avalon and few other alt sources, also from friends and local people, on Avalon we always have the amazing folks to help measure the levels of horse excrement contained in the news, I also developed along the year a very good sense to detect it. I don't have TV in my house last time I had one I was about 17 years old I guess, my kid grew up without one, we really don't care at all what is been said on the news.

Last time I remember watching that thing, I was in a restaurant Chinese like, and all these folks was terrorized with some lunatic killing people inside one of the biggest shopping mall in Bangkok, I was just observing how the news really get into their minds and change their behavior. The thing that happen was showed live on TV, why would they show such horrible thing of some lunatic hunting down people to kill? live? I would say it was just another theatrical show with political interests in order to pass some bill, but to be frank I opted not to follow up on that one so I don't know what really happened, but I am sure it is nothing as it was stated by the authorities.

The same with all these lunatics in US and elsewhere killing kids inside school, killing muslims inside mosques, all the cop killers, vaccination campaigns, politics (affff this one), etc, etc, and etc.. News are very toxic poison for the mind. Keep clean, keep safe, go for a walk and listen to the birds they have a way more to teach than all these clowns in the news (combined).

If I don't see it with my own eyes, I don't trust it.

Whatever they say, I always assume the opposite is true.

I am reminded of a Dali Lama quote, and I'll have to paraphrase because I don't remember it verbatim. "Do you want to know how to choose your leaders? Don't listen to their words, listen to the meaning behind their words. If they speak of fear or hate, you know you shouldn't follow them." And I always do that. I listen to the meaning behind the words I hear, and all I hear from the MSM is fear and hate, so I ignore them, because compassion and love are the true methods of a conscientious person.

I realized this when I was very young, so long ago now I can't remember. It's just something I've always believed.

I don't really see stuff as 'NEWS' any more, even when I'm actually watching or listening to a bit of 'news'.

It's all thought stimulation in my quest to figure out what the F is going on.

In large part, it's 'People Watching', and while I'm doing that I'm steadily growing my other non intellectual powers of observation. I'm still not very good at it but when I look back over 20 years I know I'm a hell of a lot better at it than I used to be.

Ultimately I know that whatever realisations and truth blasts I get will come from inside me, not from the incoming data stream.

Some 15-20 years ago, I was a part of the national movement called Sons of Serbia. We were far from radical or extreme, we were just patriotic and organised mostly peaceful protests. We were against selling of Kosovo, against Serbia entering the EU etc. Just normal things that most of the people agree with, but not the corrupt government and of course their msm news.

Anyway, on one of those protests, 2 of my friends and I gave an interview to one of msm newspapers.

Well, tomorrow in the news there was an article, with the pictures of those 2 friends and myself, with our logos etc.

None of the words in the article were our words, they portrayed us radicals, fanatics, extreme gropu of violent people.

Yeah, since that day, I trust nothing I see on TV or read in the news.

The only value to be gained by consuming any form of MSM, is refining ones ability to perceive the lies and propaganda peddled by it. Generally, whoever has been deplatformed or censored tends to be more credible and have more integrity. David Icke's daily podcasts and Red Ice Radio are my go-to sources. Each have held their honour and integrity for =< 2 decades, and have been proved right time and time again.
