Iran’s President Raisi still unaccounted for in helicopter crash. BBC teed up critics who’ve been asleep for six months on Gaza, says Professor Seyed Marandi. Straight for the jugular

you can see by the look on Prof Seyed Marandi's face that he suspected the worst - as I think most people probably did on hearing the news of the helicopter 'crash'...

I can’t really post in the other thread because my phone is obsolete and once the page contains too many embedding this old browser keeps crashing.

So thank you to everyone who has posted.

I’m in India so 2 hours ahead of Iranian timespace and the news hit me yesterday and fresh this morning.

I can not run to any kind of parallel right at the moment, other than another piece of tragically sad news.

But go to Google Maps and look up the coordinates shared by Iranian media.

See if you can see what I see.

There are two flags on the same unnamed mountain slope, one written in Arabic which I can not read. And some 200-300 meters above there’s one in English that reads “US precision strike”.

Both added 2 days ago when I was checking it .

Not today, not yesterday . Two days ago.

It’s not a joke.

But I have second point to add even more horrifying even while this is my unbiased presumption only.

IF there was “precision strike” launched at Iranian President by the “US forces” it was not signed by President Biden . It could also mean that the “Trump party” is plotting military takeover and acting rogue.

Of course no one has claimed the attack so far.

Can not foresee the consequences . Perhaps no one did it.

A False Flag again. It's like they do not know how to deceive the people with another and most convince way. The magician trick is so obvious that bores me. I guess that soon they are going to implement something in the sky with the holograms(like a religious signal or natural event) or finally use the last card of the "modular craft" to generate a real impact on the population. It's really clear what they are doing on places were are the "barn of the world" (Argentina and Ukraine) among other places, against food and farmers. The thing about the oil reserve under the ice of Antarctica found by Russia... it's a chess move. Cheers.

Iran releases more details of the crash.

https://www.rt.com/news/598027-tehran-details-raisi-crash/

The helicopter carrying Iran’s Ebrahim Raisi first went missing when his aircraft convoy encountered a cloud bank, the news agency IRNA reported late on Tuesday, citing the deceased president’s chief of staff Gholam-Hossein Esmaili, who was travelling in one of the accompanying aircraft.

According to Esmaili, weather conditions early on were normal, but 45 minutes into the flight the pilot of Raisi’s aircraft said he would increase altitude to avoid a cloud and ordered the two accompanying helicopters to do the same. Once they started to gain altitude, the two other helicopters suddenly lost sight of Raisi’s aircraft, which had been flying in the middle.

“After 30 seconds of flying over the clouds, our pilot noticed that the helicopter in the middle had disappeared,” Esmaili stated, adding that his aircraft went back and circled the area several times in search of Raisi’s helicopter. However, it was forced to abandon the search attempts due to poor visibility, and landed shortly afterwards at a nearby copper mine.

According to Esmaili, he made several attempts to contact Raisi’s aircraft through radio devices, and was able to reach Mohammad Ali Ale-Hashem, an East Azerbaijan imam who accompanied the president. Ale-Hashem was able to convey that the president’s helicopter had crashed into a valley.

“When we found the location of the accident, the conditions of the bodies indicated that Ayatollah Raisi and other companions had died instantly but Ale-Hashem… after several hours,” Esmaili was cited as saying.

Raisi and his entourage had been returning from a meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, after the two leaders inaugurated a major dam project on the border between the two states. The helicopter Raisi was traveling in went down in the mountainous East Azerbaijan province in northwestern Iran. Following an over ten-hour search, which was challenging due to fog and rain, the president and seven more officials were found and confirmed dead. IRNA earlier reported that Raisi’s helicopter crashed due to a “technical failure,” but an official statement on the cause of the incident has not yet been released.

Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has declared five days of mourning in the country for the victims of the crash. Iranian First Vice President Mohammad Mokhber is now serving as acting president, while a snap election is scheduled for June 28.

The cloud-kidnapping technique happened quite a few times in early UFO-lore. It is quite unbelievable the president's helicopter could have vanished in low altitude when escorted by two other helicopters, more bizarre that the search took 10 hours, suggesting that the wreckage was far from the position of disappearance. Could it be the same technique as with MH370?

At 1:03:29 in Alexander Mercouris' video update for yesterday (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pDzS4RokC10), he reports that in Putin's recent press conference in Minsk, he disclosed that while the presidential helicopter that crashed was a 40-year old American Bell 212 that may not have been very well-maintained, the other two helicopters that made the journey safely were much more modern (and comfortable!) Russian ones.

Putin didn't specify which those Russian helicopters were, but Mercouris guessed they were the extremely advanced and powerful Mil Mi-17s, specifically designed to fly over difficult mountain terrain. (He said he was astonished about this revelation, which doesn't seem to have been reported elsewhere.)

Raisi helicopter probe raises more questions - Iran

RT
Wed, 29 May 2024

Multiple causes of the fatal crash have been ruled out by investigators

Iranian investigators have yet to establish what caused the helicopter crash that killed President Ebrahim Raisi, but have ruled out sabotage, the state broadcaster IRIB reported on Wednesday.

"An explosion that might have occurred as a result of sabotage during the flight, or a few seconds before the collision with the slope of the hill has been ruled out," said the statement issued by the General Staff, as reported by IRIB.

After examining the documents and records related to the presidential aircraft, "no defects that could have affected the accident were found in terms of repairs and maintenance," the military added. Likewise, the weight of the helicopter at takeoff was "within the permitted limit."

The presidential helicopter had last communicated with the other two aircraft in the group 69 seconds before the fatal crash, and had not sent out an emergency signal, according to the report. A problem with the radios has also been ruled out, as the two remaining helicopters continued to communicate, while "no traces of electronic warfare" were detected among the remains of the presidential aircraft.

The cause of the incident has not yet been established, according to the General Staff. However, their report noted that weather conditions along the return route "need to be investigated further," given the latest documents and the statements of pilots and passengers from the surviving helicopters.

I don't have an opinion about the true cause of the fatality; but it seems to me that even if this was a deliberate assassination, then such an act would probably be a deliberate provocation by those who want a between Israel and Iran; therefore it is possible that such an assassination (even if true) might be covered-up by those who wish to avoid an Israel-Iran war (which would surely spread) - I mean nations such as (apparently) Iran and Russia.

It just strikes me that this is the kind of thing that happens in geopolitics; and one reason (of many!) why I find it impossible to form a clear judgment about such things.

Just tell yourself the following: what are the best opportunities to get rid of a political opponent or someone to get rid of in order to climb the Iranian power hierarchy?

Sanotage the helicopter or even the weather and kill him, having the whole world assuming it is the works of occidental countries or of Israel.

This is the most simplistic explanation and the most probable in view of easier access to the equipment and to the presidency, being already near both in the system.

I would start by looking at Iranian inner politics. Who was the president blocking access to for greater power? Who gains from his death in Iran? Who was against, in Iran, any of its policies in the government? Who wanted him dead in his family as well?

Then, after those research, I would look at international involvement. Right now the West and Israel are readily accused, which make it great for the actual Iranian regime, for some Arab State and even for Russia and China who want/have a foithold on Iran.

One stone two shots: get rid of a political /family / religious opponent and ensure collaboration of ennemies of the west.

My knee jerk reaction was that it was an inner killing as soin as I head the death.

“simplistic”, “knee-jerk”……… strange words, Flash – (thank you for your post) ——— but: as to your research (by the way do you know Persian/Farsi?): there is this strange side to the drama that both the President and the Minister for Foreign Affairs died, being the architects of Iran’s newer, BRICS-inclined, foreign policy..

you may be familiar with the Latin phrase CUI BONO? meaning: to whom is it profitable?

An update from Iran. (I have to say, I'm still wondering if the pilot deliberately suicided to kill the president.)

https://t.me/DDGeopolitics/120205
The helicopter carrying Iranian President Raisi that crashed in May did so due to weather conditions, Iran's state news agency Fars reported.

During the investigation into Raisi's death, no chemical substances capable of causing the helicopter crash were found. Sabotage and the possibility of remote interference with the helicopter's electronic systems were also ruled out, according to Fars agency, citing a source in the national security organs.
