African leaders PANICK as Burkina Faso's Ibrahim Traore makes this bold statements

Ibrahim Traore is a trailblazer in Africa who is breaking the chains of corrupt leadership that has plagued the continent for far too long. In a continent where corrupt leaders continue to perpetuate their power by installing equally corrupt successors, Traore's voice stands out. Recently, Captain Ibrahim Traore sent shockwaves across the continent by calling out corrupt leaders and their actions in no uncertain terms. He boldly stated that certain leaders in Africa try to keep their people in a state of apathy and continue to exploit them for the benefit of the West. He made it clear that such practices cannot continue and must stop. Traore's words have resonated with many who have been victims of corruption for far too long. His call to action has inspired many to speak out against corrupt leaders and demand change.

The Sahel seeks sovereignty
The last year has seen tremendous transformations in the Sahel region with popularly-backed military coups calling for an end to French colonialism as well as progressive electoral victories

The call “La France degage!” (“France, get out!”), against the ongoing legacy of French colonialism in the region, has long echoed across West Africa. In recent years, this call has reached a new pitch of intensity, from the 2018 grassroots movements in Senegal and newly elected President Bassirou Diomaye Faye’s campaign promise to unshackle his country from the neocolonial monetary system of the CFA franc to the popularly supported military coups in Mali, Burkina Faso, and Niger and the ejection of French military forces from these countries between 2021 and 2023.

The military-led governments of the central Sahelian states (Mali, Burkina Faso, and Niger) have taken steps to wrestle their sovereignty from Western monopolies – such as reviewing mining codes and contracts and expelling foreign militaries – and to establish new regional cooperation platforms. On September 16, 2023, the governments of Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger signed the Liptako-Gourma Charter, a mutual defense pact that established the Alliance of Sahel States. This trilateral partnership is a response to the threats of military intervention and economic sanctions that have been levied against Niger by the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) following the July 2023 popular coup that took place in the country.

A few months after reaching this defense cooperation agreement, the three countries withdrew from the ECOWAS regional bloc. Some political commentators have claimed that these events – combined with the ejection of French military forces from the region – “spell trouble” for regional social security, economic development, political stability, and regional integration. What is behind the tidal wave sweeping through the Sahel, and what does it mean for the region?

The legacy of French colonialism

Anti-imperialist sentiment has been brewing in the Sahel for years. To look at the case of Niger, which is emblematic of the wave of resistance in the region, during the July 2023 coup, the people took to the streets against the French colonial hangover that has facilitated rampant, structural corruption and disenfranchised large sectors of the population.

Much of this corruption has taken place in Niger’s mining sector, which represents one of the world’s largest high-grade uranium deposits. For instance, in 2014, prior to the coup, then Nigerien President Mahamadou Issoufou lowered taxes on mining activities that directly benefited French monopolies, receiving indirect pay outs in return. Meanwhile, the French military in Niger operated as the gendarme for mining companies and against those seeking to migrate to Europe.

Société des Mines de l’Aïr (Somaïr), a purported “joint venture” between Niger and France in the uranium industry, is yet another example of the continued French influence in the region and on the continent. While France’s Atomic Energy Commission and two French companies own 85% of the company, Niger’s government owns a mere 15%. While close to half of Niger’s population lives below the poverty line and 90% lives without electricity, as of 2013 uranium from Niger powers one in three lightbulbs in France. It should come as no surprise that, shortly after the 2023 coup, Nigerien citizens seized the French embassy and military base in the capital of Niamey. France withdrew its troops soon after.

Sovereignty, security, and terrorism

On March 16, 2024, the Nigerien government revoked a decade-old military agreement with the United States, just two days after a US delegation met with local authorities to raise concerns over the nation’s partnerships with Russia and Iran. In a public statement, the government of Niger “forcefully condemne[d] the condescending attitude, accompanied by the threat of retaliation, from the head of the US delegation towards the government and people of Niger”. The statement added that “Niger regrets the intention of the US delegation to deny the sovereign Nigerien people the right to choose their partners and the types of partnerships that are capable of truly helping them fight terrorism at a time when the United States of America has unilaterally decided to suspend all cooperation.” The government also cited the following as reasons for revoking the agreement with the US: the cost it has inflicted upon Nigerien taxpayers, the lack of communication around domestic operations and US military base activities, unauthorized aircraft movements, and the ineffectiveness of its so-called counter-terrorism work.

The US has established the single largest foreign military presence on the African continent, beginning with the 2002 Pan-Sahel Initiative and followed by the creation of the US Africa Command (AFRICOM) in 2007, which set up a significant network of US military bases across the Sahel (of which there are nine in Niger alone as well as two in Mali and one in Burkina Faso). In 2007, US State Department adviser J. Peter Pham defined AFRICOM’s strategic objective to US House of Representatives Committee on Foreign Affairs as follows:

It is unlikely that any amount of public relations work will fully quench anti-imperialist concerns that AFRICOM is fundamentally an attempt to erect a bulwark in Africa against trans-national terrorism and China’s appetite for Africa’s oil, minerals, and timber… The proposed structure of AFRICOM, consisting of four or five relatively small bases with no force deployments, means that these will be largely invisible even in their host countries and societies.

In the aftermath of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization’s (NATO) war on Libya led by France and the US, the Sahel region has been embroiled in conflicts, many of them driven by emerging forms of jihadist armed activities, piracy, and smuggling. France and the US have used these conflicts as a pretext to increase their military interventions across the region. In 2014, France set up the G5 Sahel (a military arrangement that included Burkina Faso, Chad, Mali, Mauritania, and Niger) and expanded or opened new military bases in Gao, (Mali), N’Djamena (Chad), Niamey (Niger), and Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso). In 2019, the US began conducting drone strikes and aerial surveillance across the Sahel and the Sahara Desert from its Air Base 201 outside Agadez (Niger) – the largest construction effort in US Air Force history.

The Global Terrorism Index found that the Sahel region was the most impacted by terrorism in 2023, accounting for nearly half of all terrorism-related deaths and 26% of terrorist incidents worldwide. Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger each ranked among the top ten countries most impacted by terrorism, a fact often held up to allege the failure of the new military-led governments. However, this reality predates the coups of 2021–2023 and instead speaks to the impact of US and French military intervention. Between 2011 (the year of NATO’s war on Libya) and 2021 (the year of the first of the recent wave of Sahelian coups, in Mali), Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger soared from positions 114, 40, and 50, respectively, on the index of countries most impacted by terrorism to 4, 7, and 8. It is clear that the US and French “war on terrorism” has done little to improve security in the region and has in fact had the opposite effect.

Seeking new partners and paths

The people of the Sahel have grown disillusioned not only with the West’s military strategies, as seen by the increasing security cooperation agreements with other countries, but also with Western economic policies that have yielded little social development. Despite the region’s abundant energy resources (including Niger’s aforementioned uranium reserves), the Sahel has some of the world’s lowest levels of energy generation and access, with at least 51% of the population unable to access electricity.

Though the Alliance of Sahel States began as a defense pact, political autonomy and economic development are a core focus. This includes, for instance, pursuing joint energy projects and exploring the possibility of establishing regional civil nuclear power initiatives. Burkina Faso has already signed agreements with Rosatom, a state-owned Russian company, to build new power plants while Mali is advancing its application of atomic energy through the National Nuclear Programme, overseen by the Malian Radiation Protection Agency.

Ultimately, the Alliance of Sahel States represents an attempt to uphold the demands of sovereignty and the right to self-determination – an agenda that the people of Niger, Burkina Faso, and Mali have poured into the streets to support.

Events in the Sahel are unfolding at a rapid pace, but as the Malian novelist Aïcha Fofana wrote in La fourmilière (“The Anthill”) in 2006, modernization is tempered by the rigidities and wisdom of the old ways. “We have always been generous,” the griot in La fourmilière says to a young man who has many ideas about transforming society. Patience is necessary. Change is coming. But it is coming at its own pace.

“There are two ways to conquer and enslave a country. One is by the sword. The other is by debt.” ~John Adams, former U.S. President

In an interview in February, the President of Burkina Faso said something very striking that shows that he is a man on a mission to transform Burkina Faso. He said “Perhaps everything we’ve done has surprised you, hasn’t it?

Don't worry more changes are coming that might still surprise you. We will break every tie that has kept us in slavery” What an iconic statement. Traore’s statement proves that all that he has done since assuming power in Burkina Faso, was planned and none of those actions were made on impulse.

His statement is a slap to the face of those people who say that because he is a military man he doesn't know what he is doing and cannot rule a country.

As the Captain has said, everything they have done has certainly surprised the world, especially the West, and now they are about to surprise the West, especially France with another move- the creation of a new currency. Captain Traore says the plan is to break all ties that have kept the country in slavery and we can all agree that the CFA Franc, the currency that is currently being used by 14 African countries including Burkina Faso is something that has kept these nations in slavery.

Created in 1954 as a currency for all its African colonies, France used this currency to maintain significant economic and political influence over Africa because it had control over the currency’s convertibility and monetary policy.

This means that with the aid of the CFA Franc, France could manipulate the money supply, interest rates, and currency valuation across Francophone Africa all the way from Paris.

In addition to this, France also controlled the money reserve of Francophone Africa because Francophone Africa was required to at first, put a hundred percent of their money reserve in France's bank. Later on, it changed to 70 percent, and it is currently 50 percent.

🇷🇺🇧🇫 The relations between Russia and Burkina Faso have a good history and are currently on the rise, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said.

"Both my delegation and I are very touched by the warm welcome, we feel at home. Our relations are on the rise, primarily thanks to the agreements reached at the meeting of our presidents on the sidelines of the second Russia-Africa summit," Lavrov said at a meeting with Foreign Minister of Burkina Faso Karamoko Jean Marie Traore.

The contacts between the two countries are intensive, the minister added.

Traore welcomed Lavrov in Ouagadougou and described the Russia-Burkina Faso relations as "warm."

Earlier in the day, Lavrov arrived in the capital of Burkina Faso, Ouagadougou, on his first visit to the country as part of his tour around Africa. The Russian Foreign Minister's visit to Burkina Faso is taking place against the background of changes in the security sphere and the accomplished or possible changes in the presence of French and US forces in the Sahel region, as well as the expansion of cooperation between the region and Russia.

🇧🇫🇷🇺BREAKING: Burkina Faso to sign nuclear power deal with Russia

Burkina Faso and Russia are on Friday due to sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the construction of a nuclear power plant in Burkina Faso.

The agreement will be a culmination of talks the Burkinabe military ruler, Capt Ibrahim Traore, had with Russian president Vladimir Putin in July during the Russia-Africa summit in Moscow.

"The MoU will be signed between Rosatom, the Russian federal atomic energy agency, and the Burkinabe ministry of energy, on the sidelines of Russian Energy Week 2023," the report further said.

Burkina Faso is one of the least electrified countries globally, with only about 20% of the population having access to electricity, according to the International Energy Atomic Agency.

🇷🇺🇧🇫 Russia to provide more military aid, instructors to Burkina Faso

Russia will send additional military supplies and instructors to Burkina Faso to help the west African country boost its defense capabilities and fight terrorism, Russian state media quoted Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov as saying on Wednesday.

Burkina Faso, under military leadership since a 2022 coup, has played host to contingents of the Wagner mercenary force, whose founder Yevgeny Prigozhin was killed in a plane crash last August.

"From the very first contacts between our countries after President (Ibrahim) Traoré came to power, we have been very closely engaged in all areas of cooperation, including the development of military and military-technical ties", TASS news agency cited Lavrov as saying during a visit to Burkina Faso.

"I have no doubt that thanks to this cooperation, the remaining pockets of terrorism on the territory of Burkina Faso will be destroyed," he told a press conference in the capital Ouagadougou.

Lavrov has made a series of visits to Africa since the start of the war in Ukraine as Russia, hit by Western sanctions, seeks new trade partners and tries to rally developing countries behind its vision of a "multipolar world" no longer dominated by the United States and former European colonial powers.

Growing Russian security ties with Africa, including countries such as Mali, Burkina Faso and Niger where military leaders have seized power in coups, are a source of concern to the U.S. and other Western governments.

Separately, the RIA news agency reported on Wednesday that Russian aluminium giant Rusal is in negotiations with the government of Sierra Leone on a bauxite mining concession. Rusal already has operations in neighbouring Guinea.

Sierra Leone's mining minister made the comments on the sidelines of the St Petersburg International Economic Forum.

RIA also reported, without providing details, that Russia's top diamond producer Alrosa was planning talks with Sierra Leone.

Mali, Burkina Faso & Niger Leaders to Meet Saturday at AES Inaugural Summit

Earlier, Malian Foreign Minister Abdoulaye Diop stated during the Crans Montana Forum in Belgium that the fate of the Sahel region is now determined by its inhabitants. Dialogue between brother nations such as Benin or the ECOWAS member states is essential, stressed the minister.
The heads of state of the three West African countries, Colonel Assimi Goita of Mali, Captain Ibrahim Traore of Burkina Faso, and General Abdourahamane Tiani of Niger, will meet in Niamey on July 6. This will be the first ordinary summit of heads of state and governments of the Alliance of Sahel States (AES) to discuss the common challenges facing their countries and to identify concerted regional solutions.
According to the bloc, this "historic summit" will mark the official launch of the AES, a regional organization created by the three countries to pool their efforts to combat insecurity and promote socio-economic development in the Sahel region.
Earlier, only ministerial summits had taken place, involving the heads of diplomacy or the defense ministers of the three countries.
AES was created in September last year as a coalition focused on promoting development, security, and stability in the Sahel region of Africa. The alliance collaborates on projects and initiatives to address the root causes of poverty, conflict, and instability in the region.

🇧🇫🇲🇱🇳🇪 Sahel Confederation against terrorists, drug traffickers and sanctions: what the leaders of Niger, Mali and Burkina Faso agreed on

On July 6, Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger decided to unite into a confederation of Sahel states.

🔗In 2021 in Mali, 2022 in Burkina Faso, in 2023 in Niger there were military coups. The change of regimes did not please France and the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), which is closely associated with it, which imposed sanctions against the Sahel troika. In response, Bamako, Ouagadougou and Niamey made a consolidated decision to leave ECOWAS and build their own ecosystem of interaction.

⚔️The change of regimes in the three countries and the new vector of policy of their authorities led to the withdrawal of Western military contingents. Now Russia is becoming a new strategic ally of the Sahel countries. Among the primary tasks of the confederation is the development of a unified security policy to get rid of the terrorist threat and militant groups.

💰A similar trend towards updating the exchange rate can be seen in the economy. Sahel countries are increasingly refusing Western partners and intend to strengthen cooperation with other players. And if Russia primarily focuses on food security and the digital economy, then China and Turkey are actively involved in the extraction of energy resources, precious and rare metals.

What other areas will be under the joint jurisdiction of the three states and how the confederation’s relations with its African neighbors and other states will change, Ivan Loshkarev, a researcher at the IMI MGIMO of the Russian Foreign Ministry, told the African Initiative.

🔥🔥🔥🇧🇫🇲🇱🇳🇪⚔️🇫🇷🇨🇦 Burkina Faso’s Captain Ibrahim Traore: This continent has suffered so much and continues to suffer because of imperialists. These imperialists have only one cliché in mind: ‘Africa is the empire of slaves.’ This is how they see Africa. For them, Africans belong to them. Our lands belong to them. Our subsoil belongs to them. They have never been able to change the logic until today. This is deplorable.

[Applause]

But how do they proceed? Unfortunately, it is since the 1960s that these 6,000 acres of independence have been given to Africa. They have just placed local valets at the head, according to them, of their subprefecture, to be able to continue to feed them. These local valets, which we are going to call today ‘The slaves of Salon,’ have other goals.

[Applause]

They want to live like the master, satisfy the master, and to do everything that the master dictates to them. They steal, they plunder our states, they bring everything to the master, and their wealth is kept with the master. They do everything to live like the master and always satisfy him. Do you know who these ‘Slaves of Salon’ are? Well, we are going to explain to you what they are. They are individuals who have no dignity, who have no morals, who have no personality.

[Applause]

But the master-slave has always known how to identify these individuals. They are always ready to betray their brother, to satisfy the master. They have betrayed us since independence and others continue to betray us to the benefit of their Master.

[Applause]

These individuals continue against all odds to help the master plunder Africa. They like to say it every year in their economic polls, ‘Burkina is the poorest country. Mali is the poorest country. Niger is the poorest country.’ We are ranked among the last.

[Applause]

Very well, if we are as poor as they say, but when the time has come to take responsibility, we have asked this master to leave the place. Why don’t they want to leave?

[Applause]

When we take the case of Niger, for more than 40 years, some countries have been exploiting uranium to produce energy at home. From Ottawa to Paris the streets are illuminated. It is the light. But in Niger, it is the darkness that has served us.

[Applause]

When you go to our states our soils are full of precious metals, such as gold, but often there is not even the slightest road accessible to reach the areas where they exploit gold, even less certain basic social services. This is why we have decided to revolt and take the fate of our countries into our own hands.

[Applause]

There are many other examples. But when we decided so, we were approached by some ‘Salon Slaves’ to pass on the message of their Master. Because they had created this kind of polymer chain that rises to the heads of our states to serve them. And we came to break the chain.

[Applause]

And it is inconceivable for them. They approached us and asked us to enter the ranks to make the elite leave that must lead Africa. Because they have an elite formed and formatted that must follow that is embedded in this chain. We refuse to enter their ranks. And then the hostilities began.

[Applause]

They have sent several mercenaries and trainers to our area. The agents have descended into the Sahel to carry out barbaric cowardly attacks against our people hoping to revolt them. In addition to these attacks on the ground, the attacks on communication, manipulation, and disinformation, are full in their ranks. But the people of the Sahel have understood and we will never be able to be manipulated again.

[Applause]

They know where they come from, they know what they are doing, and they know where they are going. We will no longer allow this. People are awake and people are fighting today, not for ourselves but for future generations.

[Applause]

And thank you all for the fight that is being fought. This will never make us cry. We will not tremble. We will fight. We will fight for real independence, for our freedom.

[Applause]

Because to scare the people of the Sahel, these individuals have only three terms in their mouths: democracy, freedom, human rights.

[Applause]

Of course, their local values are only elected in a democratic free and transparent process according to their values. What is more normal that we want to impose this on ourselves because it is they who edict the rules. Very well, we have decided to take responsibility. Do you know why on June 26th, 2023, when Niger decided to turn the page, the ‘Slaves of Salon’ and their masters got on the big horses? They put their local values forward and decided to wage a war against the Nigerien people. So we said, ‘Anyone who dares to take up arms against Niger will face us.’

[Applause]

Because we will wage a merciless war until the last drop of blood for anyone who dares to attack our states.

[Applause]

This word, this decision we made yesterday, is current today, and will be current tomorrow and forever.

[Applause]

Thus, we acquired the AES on September 16th, 2023, in a mutual defense architecture. But we felt it necessary to extend and therefore enlarge the AES architecture. What brings us together today must allow us to go to other areas in addition to defense, including finance, economy, infrastructure, health, education...

[Applause]

So I hope that this moment will be for us a story that we will write for the AES but especially for Africa and for the whole world.

[Applause]

May God illuminate each and every one of us. May God inspire us in these tasks that are entrusted to us. And above all, that when we do all our work, that we have in mind only one thing: the supreme interest of our people.

[Applause]

On this we pray, once again good God, that He accompanies us all in our different tasks, and that He protects our fighters, who, thanks to them, allow us to sit here and exchange about the future of our states. So be grateful once again, Nigerien people. Be united and united. People of the AES. Homeland or death.

[Applause]

🇧🇫Another 10 thousand soldiers will be recruited into the Burkina Faso army to strengthen the armed forces.

This was stated by the President of Burkina Faso, Ibrahim Traoré, during his address to the current forces.

“Terrorists have no religion. There is no alliance with terrorists: either we fight them, or they fight us. We chose the fight. To achieve this, we have doubled our weapons. To strengthen our army, 10 thousand soldiers will be recruited. We want our army to reach a level that has never been equaled in the sub-region”, he stressed.

Traoré added that there are forces in Côte d'Ivoire that are engaged in destabilizing the situation in Burkina Faso.

Captain Ibrahim Traoré Survives Sixteenth Coup Attempt in Burkina Faso.

Captain Ibrahim Traoré, the 36-year-old president of Burkina Faso, has once again survived an attempt to oust him from office, marking the sixteenth coup attempt during his tenure. It's notable that Traoré himself came to power through a coup d'état, highlighting the intense political instability in the region.

A New Alliance in Sub-Saharan Africa;
Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger have recently forged a significant alliance named the 'Coalition of Sub-Saharan Countries.' This coalition aims to combat French colonial intervention and promote greater self-determination for the member states.

Key Moves by the Coalition;
1. Halting Gold Exports: The coalition has stopped exporting gold, a critical resource for their economies, in a move to assert economic independence and resist external influences.

2. Exit from the West African Community: In a bold step towards sovereignty, the coalition members have left the West African Community, signaling a break from traditional regional alliances.

3. Plans for a New Currency: Moving away from the franc, which has long been associated with French colonial legacy, the coalition is working on creating their own currency. This move aims to establish greater economic autonomy and strengthen intra-regional trade and cooperation.

👉🏻Implications for the Region
The actions of Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger reflect a broader trend of resistance against neocolonial influence in Africa. By taking control of their resources and forming new alliances, these countries are striving to pave the way for a more self-sufficient and independent future.

🔴Independence Is Not Given, It Is Earned: Building True Freedom Through Unity and Vigilance in Burkina Faso - Full Speech by Ibrahim Traoré, August 6th

This morning, August 6th, God has granted us the grace to gather and honor our flag. Two days ago, on August 4th, we celebrated the anniversary of the revolution in Burkina Faso, which marked the beginning of our true independence struggle. On August 4th, 1984, Burkina Faso was born with the flag we have just raised, along with new emblems and a new national anthem. Everything was changed to give new hope to our country. This, of course, was on the eve of August 5th, which marks the proclamation of the independence that was given to us in 1960.

So, I hope that we can work and ensure that next year, at the same celebration, we are consolidating the real independence we are fighting for today. Everyone must get involved, because independence is not given, it is earned, and this is the struggle we are currently engaged in.

For several weeks, there have been rumors of attempts to destabilize our country, and I think some media have also reported on this. As a worker at the presidency, it is my duty to provide you with accurate information so that you can inform others in return, and for your own peace of mind and confidence in your work.

Indeed, for a long time, we have been monitoring a cell in a neighboring country, directed by Western intelligence services, primarily against our country. The operations were mainly supposed to start at the end of May. This was to involve an intense communication war against our country, an information war as well. Our IT systems were to be attacked to create a blackout. In addition, there is a soft and passive economic war that does not reveal its name, which we have also managed to contain. Several planned attacks on sensitive points were planned. Another phase was targeted assassinations, which were also planned, and then mass attacks were to occur within the defense and security forces (FDS), but especially cowardly attacks in the cities targeting primarily the agents of the citizen watch, known as W.

We have indeed monitored the progression of their plan, and the final assault was supposed to take place through a recruitment, so to speak, of agents inside. From the communication war to everything I have mentioned, we have tried to contain the situation. Some individuals were arrested in this subversion, in the attack plan, about ten of them. Unfortunately, FDS personnel were arrested with proven complicity with the terrorists, who are different from those involved in the subversion. These personnel were in contact with the terrorists, providing them with the necessary information to carry out attacks. It is unfortunate that these were Burkinabé, including FDS personnel, but that is the case.

In addition, some media reported that certain elements of the Rapid Intervention Brigades (BIR) were contacted. It's true, you know that the BIR are at the forefront of the fight we are currently leading. All those who were approached reported to us, and we are monitoring the situation. It is unfortunate to want to remain abroad and manipulate soldiers inside to do what you want. It’s the intelligence of our soldiers, and everyone understood that. I think these officers who manipulate are all outside and continue their work from abroad. It is not honorable for an officer to act this way. I think for more dignity, it would be better if they returned and led their project themselves, and we are waiting for them.

This is to tell you that we are monitoring the situation and will continue to serve and act to always maintain the course we have taken because it is a long-term struggle. These events will not stop. We disturb many people, we know that. Independence, as I told you, is earned. Therefore, these destabilization projects will always continue to exist, but we will fight against them. Because a revolution is always fought, but a revolution also has guardians who maintain it, and you are part of it. There are people who have not yet been arrested, who think they have been lucky. No, they have not been lucky, we are monitoring them. So, I invite all those involved in these projects to desist because we will not hesitate for a single moment to act as necessary for the interests of Burkina Faso. I hope they understand us and hear us.

So, this is the information I wanted to give you, and let people remain calm. We will continue to progress and take all necessary measures to ensure that Burkina Faso exists and is as we wish it to be.

Ibrahim Traore has been making headlines for some days now. Probably many are wondering who this lad is.
Well here it is
Ibrahim Traore is the current President of Burkina Faso. Born Jan 1988,he is currently the youngest head of state in the world.
He went to the university of Ougadougou where he graduated with Honours.
He joined the Burkina Faso army in 2009 where he quickly rose in ranks. He was sent to Morocco for anti-aircraft training. He subsequently came back and was put in charge of an infantry in Kaya.
He was involved in the Mali war and also helped to suppress the jihadist uprising in Burkina Faso.
Traoré was part of the group of army officers that supported the January 2022 Burkina Faso coup d'état and brought the Patriotic Movement for Safeguard and Restoration military junta to power. This came after a large section of young Army soldiers became dissatisfied with the government and the performance of Paul-henri Sandaogo Damiba.
Following the coup, Ibrahim Traore assumed the office the supreme head of state, supreme head of armed forces.
In 2023 the government of Traore expelled the France forces that was assisting in the Fight against Jihadist insurgency.
Traore is for the idea to Unite Mali and quinea and if the three happens to hit an agreement it will be the largest territory ruled by millitary Junta.
During the recent visit to Russia where they met Putin, Traore expressed dissatisfaction with the way in which the African continent is still poor despite having all the resources enough to make us a super power continent.
Indeed many of us share in Traore's sentiments.
Western countries should let us chat our own path, male our own decisions and be able to enjoy the proceeds of our resources.
Traore brings fond memories of Thomas Sankara who had the best of interest for his country and Africa at large.
We will not be puppets and 'raw material continent" forever.

🇧🇫 Situation in Burkina Faso: Clashes in the East and Expansion of the Militants' Attack Zone to the South
Summary for August 1 - 21, 2024

Air strikes on the camps and gathering places of Islamic radicals, which prevailed in the previous month, paved the way for the activation of ground operations by the Burkina Faso armed forces.

▪️In the Eastern Region, joint actions managed to dislodge the Islamists belonging to the JNIM group affiliated with Al-Qaeda from the forests. Also, many accomplices of the terrorists were detained in the villages. During these operations, about 80 militants were eliminated.

However, during the usual escort of a rapid reaction detachment for a civilian convoy transporting ore from a mine, an ambush occurred. As a result, more than 100 soldiers and miners were killed, and all the weapons fell into the hands of the Islamists.

▪️Also, in the border areas with Mali, reconnaissance with UAVs revealed large concentrations of militants. An air strike managed to hit several militant vehicles with personnel.

▪️But the militants continue to expand their influence to the south - attacks continue in Benin and Togo. Although these are small clashes, they may soon escalate into a full-fledged invasion.

🔻In addition, cooperation with Russian companies on the construction of a nuclear power plant in the country is intensifying. The Minister of Energy of Burkina Faso met with a delegation of Rosatom in Ouagadougou. According to the Russian side, only two stages remain before the launch of the project, and then a site for construction will be selected.

This initiative is very important, as it is an exemplary case of the work of Russian companies in Africa. Many specialists are afraid or do not want to go to the Black Continent, but if there are more and more successful cases, the flow of those willing will increase. And the economic component is the main one in consolidating Russian influence in the country.

A major investment of more than 5 billion FCFA to strengthen the health system

The government of Burkina Faso carried out, this Tuesday, December 31, 2024 in Ouagadougou, a significant handover of medical-technical equipment and rolling logistics to the Ministry of Health. This initiative, led on behalf of the Head of State, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, by the Prime Minister, Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo, represents an investment of more than 5 billion CFA francs.

This funding, 90% provided by the Burkinabe State, demonstrates the authorities' desire to strengthen the country's health system. The equipment provided includes:

• 10 ambulances: These emergency vehicles will improve patient care and transport, particularly in the most remote areas.
• 39 pick-up vehicles: These multi-purpose vehicles will strengthen the ministry’s logistical capacities and facilitate the movement of medical teams in the field.
• 625 motorcycles: These two-wheelers will optimize the mobility of health personnel, particularly for interventions in rural and difficult-to-access areas.

This provision of rolling stock and medical-technical equipment should have a significant impact on improving access to care and the quality of health services offered to the Burkinabe population. It is part of a global approach to strengthening the health system, by providing field workers with the resources necessary to carry out their missions.

IBRAHIM TRAORÉ: AFRICAN STREAM’S MAN OF THE YEAR 2024

2024 has produced both highs and lows for pan-Africanism. Imperialist-instigated wars continued to rage in many parts of the continent, including Sudan and the Democratic Republic of Congo, killing tens of thousands and displacing millions. Western puppets in the corridors of power across the continent continue to implement IMF policies that have inflicted immense suffering on the African masses and further entrenched the looting of our resources by outsiders. We also witnessed an escalation in attempts by the United States to curtail revolutionary media outlets such as ours.

However, it was not all doom and gloom. The Sahel trio of nations - Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger, aka the Alliance of Sahel States (AES) - have, throughout the year, given the continent collective pride and hope that the pan-African dream is within reach. They have taken more steps to assert their sovereignty in both the political and economic realms. The three countries' leaders have shown that, despite the West's sustained assault on the continent, our spirit of resistance as Africans remains resolute. Without a doubt, they tower above other African leaders right now.

And within the triad, Burkina Faso's President Ibrahim Traoré shines brightest. While the achievements of the Sahel have been a collective effort, Traoré's speeches and charisma have inspired Africans on the continent and beyond.

For example, in this clip, recorded during a meeting of AES leaders in the Nigerien capital, Niamey, on 6 July, Traoré denounces Western imperialism and the African leaders acting as its lackeys on our continent. He says these leaders, whom he refers to as 'house slaves,' are always ready to betray their people to make their imperialist masters happy.

Seeing a young African leader standing up to the West in word and action is refreshing and inspiring. So there was little contest really. Congratulations, Captain - you’re African Stream’s Man of the Year 2024!

The Director General of Taxes in Burkina Faso, gave his verdict on the ECONOMY and taxes raised in FASO, this evening, and it was very Positive :

The Directorate General of Taxes (DGI) hosted a press conference on Friday, January 10, 2025, on the occasion of its 10th fiscal year. This accountability meeting allowed the DGI to present its results for the 2024 fiscal year and the outlook for the year 2025, to present the new tax measures of the finance law for the execution of the State budget, fiscal year 2025.

1.480 Trillion CFA francs mobilized in 2024, compared to 1.368 Trillion in 2023.

This marks a whopping 113 Billion CFA increase in revenue from 2023, or something close to 10% increase in revenue.

The efforts of Captain Traore in diversifying the ECONOMY from just mine or Cotton based, is starting to reap dividends.

Agriculture is forecast to count for about 20% of Burkina Faso Economy growth in this financial year.

Critics of Traore have accused him of many things, but economic mismanagement has never been one of the charges.

Human trafficking disguised as job offers dismantled in Burkina Faso

A vast network of scammers from several African countries operated under the cover of the QNET company. An operation led by the criminal cell of the gendarmerie made it possible to dismantle it. 14 of its leaders were presented to the press this Tuesday in Ouagadougou.

💻 The suspects used social media to attract mainly young people aged 17 to 25. They promised them lucrative contracts in football training centres in Ghana or well-paid jobs in Europe, reports the local press.

Then they would sequester the victims and take away their mobile phones. The victims' families were forced to pay large sums of between two and five million CFA francs.

💰 After receiving the money, the criminals cut their victims off from the rest of the world. Starving and traumatized, the young people often lost their lives due to the harsh conditions of detention.

More than 160 victims have been counted, including:

🇲🇱 11 Malians,
🇬🇳 21 Guineans,
🇨🇲 16 Cameroonians,
🇨🇫 3 Central Africans,
🇨🇮 4 Ivorians,
🇳🇪 6 Nigerians,
🇹🇬 15 Togolese,
🇧🇫 6 Burkinabe,
🇧🇯 78 Beninese.

These young people were released and returned to their families.

➡️ On January 3, 2025, on the same route, a truck transporting 870 kg of Indian hemp was intercepted.

➡️ On January 4, 2025, customs officers discovered 44.2 kg of Indian hemp in a public transport vehicle coming from Togo.

❗️ "The 914 kg seized could be enough to supply up to 914,000 individual doses," customs said.

Furthermore, the profits generated by this illegal trade are used to finance criminal and even terrorist networks, the authority points out.

🇲🇱🇳🇪🇧🇫 Synergy, good intelligence, single army: the head of Burkinabe diplomacy on the progress concerning the defense of #AES .

🎙 A lot has been done on the security front, notes Karamoko Jean Marie Traoré, guest on Radiodiffusion-Télévision du Burkina (RTB).

"The latest: the establishment of this unified Sahel force which demonstrates how our armies have managed to work in harmony and in synergy," he explains.

The minister emphasizes that the troops of the three countries feel "in a single space", wherever they are. Before, it was difficult for Burkina to pursue terrorists beyond its borders, he recalls.

The three members of the AES also pooled logistical resources, which resulted in a "greater intervention capacity".

🤝 On the diplomatic side, "the barriers between the three countries have been removed," the senior official emphasizes. He claims to have regular consultations with his Malian and Nigerian counterparts.

📈 As for the development aspect, "there is not a single sectoral department that is not in contact with another department in Mali and Niger," says Mr. Traoré.

"From last July 6 until now, there have been enormous steps taken at the operational level. And these steps are being increasingly coordinated with the institutional architecture that is gradually being put in place," he concludes.

🛑Burkina 🇧🇫: Let me address the draft law about foreigners who will no longer be able to hold title deed on rural land!

I see a lot of misunderstanding and criticism about the draft law that was taken at the council of ministers this past Wednesday concerning foreigners who will no longer be able to hold title deed on our rural land.

According to the Minister in charge of Economy, Dr. Aboubakar Nacanabo, this bill aims to ensure that land management is improved and that the State can assert its leadership on the issue.

“Through this bill, it is planned that the land now belongs to the State,” he argued.
For him, the bill includes major innovations including the possibility of a long-term lease that goes from 18 to 99 years in the context of agricultural production and the recognition of customary rights.

Added to these innovations is the impossibility for a foreigner to hold a title deed on rural land, Minister Nacanabo specified.

I saw some pseudo intellectuals from Côte d’Ivoire 🇨🇮 attacking
@CapitaineIb226
for this new bill by saying that we claim to be pan-Africans and yet we’re passing stupid laws that contradict what pan-Africanism is all about. They are even wondering if we know what pan-Africanism means at all.

Fortunately, people shut down those idiots by pulling a section of the Ivorian constitution that stipulates the exact same bill that we are now trying to pass. But, that’s not even my point.

Here’s the thing, if you recall when
@GoitaAssimi
jailed the CEO of Australian gold mine Resolute, Mr Terence Holohan, I stated that we must pass laws to make it impossible for foreign companies or multinationals to own land in the AES.

Why is that important? Because, these people used to own the mines. They own them because, we have given them the title deeds of the lands they are operating on.

This is also one of the reasons why they feel they can do whatever the hell they want, and hold 80% of the profit while the State has 20%. It is the same **** going on with Barrick gold in Mali 🇲🇱.

I don’t see any African moving to Europe or America who can own land there as a foreigner. So, why should we as Africans accept what they will never accept ? Moreover, with the Chinese and Indians moving to buy lands in Africa, we must put an end to this madness!

This bill will ensure that the likes of Bill Gates stay away from us as he is now the larger farmland owner in the U.S. to grow his GMO crops.

We have not forgotten how he bribed the corrupt regime of Roch Marc Christian KABORE to accept his GMO mosquitoes back in 2018, and the resulting deadly malaria outbreak that killed our people the following years.

This move got nothing that goes against pan-Africanism, it’s the right thing to do. If you are an African and you move into the AES, you’re welcome! But you will have to abide by the laws of the land. Plain and simple!

BURKINA FASO'S QUEST FOR FOOD SOVEREIGNTY

Burkina Faso's revolutionary leader Thomas Sankara (1949-87) once said, ‘He who feeds you, controls you.’ Throughout the revolution he led, Sankara placed great emphasis on food sovereignty and local production. Today, Burkina Faso's new Pan-African president, Ibrahim Traoré, does the same.

Through a new people’s investment programme, Burkina Faso allows Burkinabé people to invest in entrepreneurial projects to play a direct role in the country's development. Despite growing tomatoes locally, most Burkinabé purchase imported tomato paste from other countries to use in various local recipes. However, through this programme, Burkina Faso was able to open a new tomato paste factory on 30 November in the city of Bobo Dioulasso.

In this same vein,
@capitaineib226
(X) also gifted Burkinabé farmers with 20 new optical rice sorters valued at $300,000 to advance local rice production by as much as 3 tonnes per hour per certain machines. Rice is a staple, yet Asian countries export most of the rice Burkinabé people eat. Now, Burkina Faso can increase local rice production for consumption and export.

The government has called on both residents of the country and the diaspora worldwide to donate to the people’s investment programme to support these government-led entrepreneurial activities. For more information, visit http://apec.bf

HERO'S WELCOME FOR BURKINA FASO TROOPS

On 17 March, people from the eastern town of Bilanga poured into the streets to welcome Burkina Faso’s soldiers.

Two years after a popular military coup ousted a military leader, Paul-Henri Damiba, schools have reopened and government workers have resumed work. This comes four months after the Burkinabé military regained control of the border town of Falagountou and after neighbouring Mali’s re-took the northeastern town of Kidal. In both cases, the governments said armed militants had held the areas under siege.

Mali, Burkina Faso and Niger—landlocked African countries in the arid Sahelian zone south of the Sahara Desert—have faced a security crisis ever since NATO overthrew Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi in 2011, spurring armed groups throughout the 5,900-kilometre Sahel region. Burkina Faso had lost up to 40 per cent of its territory to the Islamic State in the Greater Sahara, according to the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS). However, recent developments show Burkina Faso’s new government has been reclaiming land. Terrorism has killed thousands of Africans and displaced millions, creating an economic and humanitarian burden in the Sahel region.

Western forces occupying the Sahel since the early 2010s did little to reverse the security crisis. More terrorism-related deaths occurred after their arrival than before, according to the Global Terrorism Index. Sahelian casualties account for 43 per cent of all terrorism deaths worldwide, compared to just 1 per cent in 2007. This surge, as well as the lack of support from Western occupiers, prompted Mali to kick out France in 2022, Burkina Faso and Niger to order out France in 2023, and Niger last month to nullify a military agreement with the United States.

WORLD CAN LEARN FROM BURKINA FASO'S PRISON REFORM

Burkina Faso is catching international attention for what is perhaps one of the most progressive approaches to criminal justice.

Prisoners in Burkina Faso's open-air Baporo Prison are learning to grow vegetables and grains for their nourishment and livestock-rearing skills to prepare them for the workforce in the agriculture-based economy.

Unlike traditionally exploitative prison labour seen around the world, these prisoners are not mass-producing items for large companies. Instead, they only sell excess crops.

The prison holds no more than 44 people out of the 8,800 detained nationwide. According to World Prison Brief, Burkina Faso's prison rate is 39 people out of every 100,000. Meanwhile, the UN reports the average global imprisonment rate is 144 detainees out of 100,000.

The government of assassinated President Thomas Sankara (1949-87) first developed the concept in 1986. Now, President Ibrahim Traoré, whom many see as a 'Sankarist,' is revitalising it.

African leaders must ask themselves, are we serving the few or the many.

Why must we import 90% of our pharmaceutical needs whilst our competent scientists sits idly by?

Why must our hospital be left to rott, whilst leaders send their families overseas.

If poor Burkina Faso can build pharmaceutical industry and 55 local and mobile hospital units, what's stopping other African leaders that are much more richer than Burkina Faso, from doing the same?.

🛑🇧🇫- For International Women’s Day,
@CapitaineIb226
made an unannounced visit on Thursday, March 6th, 2025, to the market gardening site of a women's cooperative in Zongo, a village located in the rural commune of Loumbila.

He encouraged these courageous women who represent, in his eyes, the symbol of resilience and the fight for emancipation.
For a big surprise, it is one. Arriving on the morning of March 6th, 2025 at their irrigated perimeter, the thirty women who operated this market gardening production area in the village of Zongo had no idea that they were going to have a distinguished visitor.

Captain came unannounced to encourage these women and through them, all the women of Burkina Faso who work tirelessly in agricultural production. And this visit is timely since it is linked to the theme of International Women's Day 2025, “Security and humanitarian crisis in Burkina Faso: what strategies to promote women's agricultural entrepreneurship?”

Traore who has made the emancipation of Burkinabe women a priority, praised the work done and directly collected the concerns of these women involved in market gardening, an activity that allows these “Amazons” to take charge of themselves and provide for the needs of their families.

Their concerns, expressed to the Head of State, revolve around access to land, insufficient water resources, and straying animals. Despite everything, these women produce onions, green beans and eggplants on 3.6 hectares, with an overall annual yield of 85 tonnes.

By talking with these agricultural entrepreneurs, the President took the opportunity to deliver a message to all women in Burkina Faso.

“March 8 is the celebration of International Women's Day; but I think we should dedicate every day to women. Although we should celebrate this day more in the sense of women's emancipation.

Agricultural production is today an area that we strongly encourage, as well as transformation. And who better than women to carry this entrepreneurship and help transform everything we produce on a local scale?

I think that through the emancipation of women, families will be better off and our country will be better off. So, the message to all women in Burkina Faso and around the world is an encouragement to continue fighting,” he said.

For Captain, Burkinabe women in general are “fighters and resilient women.” He made a commitment with the government to continue to support them in their quest for emancipation.

“I support you in your emancipatory struggle. I am speaking to the female agricultural producer, in rural or peri-urban areas, the main actor in her own development and with whom any other woman should identify for her bravery,” he said.

The President of the Zongo Women's Cooperative, Elise OUÉDRAOGO, was delighted with this visit by Captain. “We were honored by this visit from the Head of State. And every woman should be with us. The President was able to appreciate our activities on this site. He will help us. We thank him for this visit. We are really happy", she said.

In the year 2024, Ghana imported mangoes worth GH¢96million from Burkina Faso , according to Ghana Statistical Service Trade Report. That is over $6 million.

Ghana imports of Tomatoes, fresh or chilled was $169.26K and quantity 139,709Kg. Ghana imported Tomatoes, fresh or chilled from Burkina Faso ($85.80K , 107,824 Kg), Netherlands ($59.45K , 3,096 Kg), Morocco ($14.18K , 26,650 Kg), Switzerland ($2.55K , 245 Kg), France ($2.33K , 231 Kg).

Well over half of those imported tomatoes came from Faso, but Ghana was paying far less to Burkina Faso per kilo, than how much it paid to France, Switzerland, Morocco or Netherlands.

This sets out the case for intra African trade, and goes to show the worth of the AES to West Africa's Economy and food security.

Burkina Faso's President, Ibrahim Traore, has declined an offer from Saudi Arabia to build 200 mosques in his country. Instead, Traore suggested that Saudi Arabia invest in schools, hospitals, or businesses that would create jobs for the Burkinabe people ¹.

Traore's reasoning is that Burkina Faso already has many empty mosques, and what the country really needs is development and progress. He emphasized that his country has suffered a lot and needs to move forward and regain its independence in all aspects.

This decision reflects Traore's vision for Burkina Faso's development, which prioritizes education, healthcare, and economic growth. Under his leadership, the country is shifting its focus towards sustainable development and inclusive governance.

1906677779850047559This is 90% off-topic on this thread (and Traore's comments are important and in no way inappropriate or incorrect) — but I just wanted to add this note of interest from my own personal experience.

About 20 years ago I visited Botswana, which borders South Africa and Namibia:

https://media.istockphoto.com/id/864582588/vector/map-of-states-of-southern-africa.jpg?s=612x612&w=0&k=20&c=7QU3AZ1G43H0uxJG0VDUS0jDCDX4LiJ4oPlwgzbtAG0=

Before it became an independent nation in 1966, it was called Bechuanaland, one of the very many British African colonies whose names barely anyone can remember. It was so poor and desolate that the British could do nothing with it, and so they were relieved to get it off their hands.

But almost immediately after independence, huge amounts of diamonds were discovered in the desert. Almost overnight, Botswana became very rich. And the government — unusually for Africa, I do have to say — (a) was not corrupt, and (b) very wisely and efficiently invested all their new wealth in the country's infrastructure.

So when I went there, I was amazed and impressed. The whole country was gorgeous, and I found myself thinking: Wow, what a beautiful place, I'd really quite like to live here.

I saw no poverty, many people had cellphones even back then, the roads were all in great shape, the stores and market stalls all had wonderful inexpensive produce and everything else one might ever need, and I was told that the healthcare and education systems were all flourishing. Everyone I met was happy, healthy and friendly. It was an eye-opening experience.

But if the following is true…, Africa as a whole, is still not the richest country in the world..and Botswana’s wealth is still dependent on deals/contracts with foreign corporations.
Overall Africa is rich in resources but these resources have to be mined and extracted but most is done by foreign companies that exploit the country.
Am I incorrect?

Huge African diamond is second-largest ever found
Canadian company Lucara Diamond has announced the discovery of a 2,492-carat gemstone, one of the largest ever mined on Earth

Canadian mining company Lucara Diamond has claimed that it has found the second-largest diamond ever discovered on Earth. In a statement on its official website on Wednesday, the company reported that the gemstone weighs in at an exceptional 2,492 carats.

The diamond is said to have been found in Lucara’s Karowe Diamond Mine in the southern African nation of Botswana. It was detected and recovered using the company’s Mega Diamond Recovery X-ray Transmission (XRT) technology, which it has been using since 2017 to identify and preserve large, high-value diamonds.

“We are ecstatic about the recovery of this extraordinary 2,492 carat diamond. This find not only showcases the remarkable potential of our Karowe Mine, but also upholds our strategic investment in cutting-edge XRT technology. The ability to recover such a massive, high-quality stone intact demonstrates the effectiveness of our approach to diamond recovery,” Lucara President and CEO William Lamb said in a statement.

Previously, the same company had also mined the 1,758-carat Sewelo diamond in 2019 and the 1,109-carat Lesedi La Rona in 2015 at the same mine.

The record for the largest diamond ever mined still belongs to the 3,106-carat Cullinan Diamond which was discovered in 1902 in South Africa and was later cut into over 100 stones, including the 530.5-carat Cullinan I, the largest clear-cut diamond in the world. The stone has since been mounted on the head of the Sceptre with the Cross of the Crown Jewels of England.

DIAMOND DEAL FINALISED

Botswana and De Beers have finalised a significant 10-year diamond sales agreement, with a possible five-year extension.

This deal revises the share of Botswana's state-owned Okavango Diamond Company (ODC) in the joint venture Debswana. ODC's share will initially increase to 30% of Debswana’s output and reach 40% by the end of the decade. The agreement also extends Debswana's mining licenses until 2054.

Negotiations began in 2018 but only gained traction under President Duma Boko, who emphasised its importance for job creation and economic stability.

Despite a previous contraction in Botswana's economy due to falling diamond prices and changing market dynamics, the government anticipates recovery driven by an improving global diamond market... https://tinyurl.com/5xrs7e66

The United States, through AFRICOM, has accused Captain Ibrahim Traoré of using Burkina Faso's gold reserves for personal protection rather than the welfare of its people. This accusation, presented during a U.S. Senate hearing, is a blatant attempt to undermine Burkina Faso's sovereignty and control over its natural resources due to their imperialist greed.

We, condemn the West's continued interference in African nations affairs and their attempts to control our resources. The EFF supports Captain Traoré's efforts to reclaim Burkina Faso's gold for the benefit of its people and to resist neo-colonial pressures.

🛑🇧🇫- “Burkina Faso gold reserves used to protect the Junta regime”- AFRICOM Commander, General Michael Langley.

Alright, this is the segment where the Chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee, Mr Wicker asked General Michael Langley whether there are instances where the elite of a country uses the resources of the country to pay for services just to protect themselves, while the populace don’t benefit from it, he said. He qualified that as corruption.

General Langley answered in the affirmative and called out
@CapitaineIb226
of using our resources, gold reserves to protect the “junta regime”, and that the Burkinabè people do not benefit from it.

This is what led to the press release by the Burkinabè Foreign Ministry
@BurkinaMae
to reject those unfounded accusations. The Burkinabè government says that,

“By asserting that Burkina Faso's mineral resources, as well as certain revenues from cooperation with the People's Republic of China, would not benefit the population and would instead serve to protect the “current regime,” General Langley adopted a stance that deliberately denies Burkina Faso's new sovereignist dynamic. Such frivolous, unfounded, and eminently political remarks are all the more worrying given that they were made in a parliamentary body as prestigious as the US Senate, by a senior military official.”

It goes on to say that, “The Ministry wishes to express its strong protest against these erroneous assertions, which serve no other purpose than to harm the image of the Burkinabe government, particularly with regard to the efforts made in the fight against corruption and to defend the interests of the Burkinabe people-two major priorities of the President of Faso, His Excellency Captain Ibrahim Traoré.”

The gov’t says that, “The Ministry formally denies these allegations. The concrete actions carried out on the ground demonstrate the sincere commitment of the Burkinabe authorities to driving inclusive and sustainable development. Far-reaching reforms have been undertaken in the areas of agriculture, water, infrastructure, education, and health, with the objective of better distribution of resources for the benefit of the population.” Well, I can attest to that.

The State affirms that, “Since his accession to the highest office, His Excellency Captain Ibrahim Traoré has worked resolutely to improve public governance. All revenues from mining are now returned to state coffers and are subject to rigorous and transparent management within the framework of the national budget.”

I got so many questions on my mind, but here are a few :

1. Does General Langley willfully ignore that Captain is not perceiving a salary of a President but that of a Captain of the army? If not, why is he being accused of corruption? He has given up that right and all the privileges, and yet he is being accused of corruption. Seriously?

In Burkina Faso 🇧🇫, a Captain is paid about 500,000 CFA francs ($866) per month. Tell me, how many African Presidents do you know who take this kind of salary? There’s none, and I can guarantee you that!

2. Is Burkina Faso’s gold reserves Burkina’s or America’s? I don’t understand why he is so concerned about our gold reserves being used to protect Captain. Even if this allegation was true, is it not our gold? Are we not at liberty to do as we please? Is there any problem with that?

3. Even if Burkina Faso was using its gold to pay for the protection of Captain Traoré, what’s wrong with that ? What does that concern them? Or do they wish to see him not protected like Thomas Sankara so that our enemies can easily assassinate him?

Well, sorry General! That’s not gonna happen. We will defend and protect this young man with all it takes. To all those fantasying about another 1987, let them keep dreaming!

Burkina Faso's #Minister of Foreign Affairs, Karamoko Jean Marie Traoré, issued a statement on 15 April 2025, expressing his disagreement with derogatory remarks made by General Michael Langley, commander of US Africa Command (AFRICOM), about Burkina Faso's President Ibrahim Traoré. During a recent Senate Armed Services Hearing on 3 April 2025, US Senator Roger Wicker inquired about corruption and bribery connected to trade with China, prompting General Langley to respond, 'Absolutely, chairman. There are reports of tensions between the United States and Burkina Faso, as the Americans accuse Captain Ibrahim Traoré, the country's president, of being a dictator due to his protection of the country's gold reserves in the interest of Burkina Faso. The Russian group Nordgold 🇷🇺 is increasing ⤴️ its presence in Burkina Faso 🇧🇫 by obtaining a permit to operate the Niou gold mine in the Kourwéogo province, with an expected production of 20 tons of gold over 8 years.

The permit is located "within the research permit belonging to Jilbey Burkina SARL." This company holds 85% of the shares, while the Burkinabe state holds 15% without contribution.

Burkina Faso grants mining lease to Russia’s Nordgold

Burkina Faso has granted an industrial mining licence to Russian miner Nordgold for a gold project, the military-led West African government said, aiming to capitalize on record-high gold prices to strengthen an economy hit by insecurity.

The move signals deepening economic ties between Russia and Burkina Faso, as the junta that seized power in 2022 continues its pivot away from traditional Western allies towards Moscow.

The Niou gold deposit, located in the Kourweogo province of Burkina’s Plateau-Central region, covers 52.8 square kilometres (20.4 square miles) within the exploration licence area held by Jilbey Burkina, which is now owned by Nordgold. Nordgold already operates the Bissa and Bouly mines.

The council of ministers said late Thursday that the Niou mine was expected to yield approximately 20.22 metric tons of gold over its eight-year lifetime.

Jilbey Burkina will retain an 85% stake in the project, while the Burkinabe government will hold the remaining 15% without financial contribution, in accordance with the country’s new mining regulations.

The project will contribute 51.5 billion CFA francs ($89 million) to the state’s budget over its lifespan and 7.06 billion CFA francs to the state’s mineral wealth fund, the council of ministers said.

Gold prices have risen by over 25% this year, fuelled by geopolitical instability and US President Donald Trump’s trade policies.

Burkina Faso, which has been fighting Islamist militants since 2015, is a major gold producer. According to non-governmental organization Swissaid, which analyses mining, the country produced over 57 tons in 2023.

Mining companies operating there include Canada’s IAMGOLD and Endeavour Mining, and Australia’s West African Resources Ltd.

“The cooperation with Nordgold and other industrial mines is important (for Burkina’s government) as the country faces a budget crunch,” said Ulf Laessing, head of the Sahel program at Germany’s Konrad Adenauer Foundation.

However, the Niou project will be located in a large artisanal mining area and might deprive the people working as artisanal miners of key income, he said.

The government said the mine could generate 204 jobs, while also helping sustain employment at the nearby Bissa Gold SA mine.

The Citizen Watch launches a vibrant call for general mobilization. On April 30, 2025, Revolution Square in Ouagadougou will resonate with the sound of Burkinabè determination. The goal? To loudly and firmly affirm unwavering support for Captain Ibrahim Traoré and his government, and to proclaim Burkina Faso’s sovereignty in the face of foreign interference.

"We will show the world that Burkina Faso is no longer a vassal, but a sovereign state that decides for its people," declared Ghislain Dabiré, spokesperson for the National Coordination of the Citizen Watch (CNAVC), in an interview with AIB.

This massive march is a direct response to the "deceitful analyses" of General Longley, described as unacceptable interference by Mr. Dabiré. "Everything President Traoré decides is the will of the Burkinabè people," he emphasized.

The warning is clear: "To reach President Ibrahim Traoré, you’ll first have to walk over the Burkinabè people." Any attempt at destabilization, from any base, is doomed to fail and will be judged by history.

The Citizen Watch spokesperson also praised the mobilization of African and African-American youth, a sign that pan-Africanism is on the move and that the days of "plunder and manipulation" are over. "Black people now hold their destiny in their hands," he concluded.

The Spy Behind the NGO in Burkina Faso 🇧🇫

Claire Dubois, a French woman in her early 30s, arrived in Burkina Faso posing as the director of a Western NGO called Hope Forward, which claimed to support girls’ education and women’s health.

She presented herself as a humanitarian focused on helping African women, visiting villages, schools, and markets, and praising Burkina Faso’s leadership on state television.

However, behind this façade, Dubois was engaged in espionage. She was gathering intelligence on military sites, including military training centers, oil facilities, and drone monitoring posts, under the guise of humanitarian work.

She carried two phones-one public and one for secure communication-and sent encrypted emails containing detailed maps and satellite images of sensitive military locations to contacts linked to NATO and foreign intelligence.

Burkina Faso’s intelligence services had already flagged her activities and monitored her communications. President Ibrahim Traoré allowed her to continue to gather evidence of her true mission. Eventually, she was publicly exposed at a National Conference on African Sovereignty, where the president presented her own classified documents and emails live on stage, revealing her spying activities to the world.

She was caught off guard by the exposure and later detained quietly by the government.

Despite diplomatic pressure for a quiet resolution, President Traoré insisted on transparency and justice, emphasizing the betrayal of trust involved.

🇷🇺VLADIMIR PUTIN:

"Mr President, friends,

We are delighted to see you.

Before we begin, I would like to thank you once again for your decision to take part in celebrations marking the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

I remember our constructive and productive conversation when you first visited our country in 2023 to participate in the Russia–Africa Summit in St Petersburg.

Your current visit to Russia to attend celebrations of the 80th anniversary of Victory is deeply symbolic and reflects the friendly nature of the Russia-Burkina Faso relations.

I would also like to mention your country’s contribution to defeating German Nazism and its satellites.

About 30,000 people from modern-day Burkina Faso fought as part of the anti-Hitler coalition, in the Free France formations led by the legendary son of the French people General Charles de Gaulle.

Today, we are united by a common goal of fighting terrorism and extremism.

We will continue to help the Republic in restoring the rule of law and constitutional order and to assist in suppressing the radical groups that are still active in certain parts of Burkina Faso.

Over the past two years, we have made significant progress in expanding mutually beneficial cooperation across various areas.

In late 2023, after a pause that lasted over 30 years, the Russian Embassy in Ouagadougou resumed its operations.

A regular political dialogue was established.

Even though bilateral trade remains modest, it is nonetheless on the rise, which is a promising trend that should, of course, be encouraged.

We will work together to further strengthen economic ties and diversify mutual trade.

The Burkina Faso Economic Days in Russia in October 2024, which were attended by a high-ranking Burkinabe delegation headed by the Prime Minister, were beneficial in this regard.

Work is under way to create an intergovernmental commission.

A dedicated working group was formed in late 2024.

We will continue to help your country in training national personnel.

The Russian government scholarship quota for Burkinabe citizens has been more than doubled for the 2024–2025 academic year.

This year, we are prepared to take 27 more students from your country.

The tuition will be covered from Russia’s federal budget.

In all, about 3,500 students from Burkina Faso received their education in Russia.

Cultural and humanitarian ties have been promoted since 2024 by the Ouagadougou-based Russia House, which offers Russian language classes, among others.

Cooperation in healthcare and sanitation holds a lot of promise.

On April 24–25, Ms Popova visited Ouagadougou.

We are ready to carry out joint scientific research, develop laboratory infrastructure, and train specialists.

We prioritise humanitarian aid to Burkina Faso as well.

Last year, we shipped to your country 25,000 tonnes of wheat free of charge.

This month, a large shipment of other foods will arrive in Ouagadougou.

We appreciate close coordination with Burkina Faso in the international arena, including at the United Nations and other international organisations.

Consultations between Russia and the Confederation of Sahel States have become a valuable new cooperation format.

The first such meeting took place at the level of foreign ministers in Moscow in April.

I think our prospects are good across many areas.

We have an opportunity to discuss some of them today."

🇧🇫IBRAHIM TRAORÉ:

[Speaking in Russian]

"Good day, Comrade President."

[Retranslated]

"It is an honor to be here for the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory.

I would like to extend my congratulations and sincere thanks for this invitation, which carries deep symbolic meaning for us.

During my visit, I have learned a great deal.

The cultural session I attended on the eve of the dinner helped me understand that history and culture are the foundation upon which a strong and resilient army is built.

Together, we have seen the immense sacrifices made by the Soviet people so that today we may live in a free world.

For this, I extend once again our heartfelt gratitude.

Moments like these allow us to reflect on our own situation and envision new paths forward.

The obstacles we face today must not stop us.

On the contrary, they can serve us in some ways.

Because despite all the sanctions imposed on Russia, your country has developed internal mechanisms that have brought it back to the forefront of the international stage.

We take this lesson to heart.

During the parade, I was deeply impressed by the display of military equipment — from the legendary T-34 tank of the Great Patriotic War to today’s modern machines.

It shows just how far the Russian army has advanced, and how technology has strengthened its capabilities.

In this context, we hope our cooperation will grow exponentially.

I thank you for the scholarships already granted to students from Burkina Faso, and I hope they will continue to expand.

This morning, I visited the University of Chemistry [D. Mendeleev University], and I emphasized that after defense and security, our top priority is education — especially in the sciences.

We hope Russia can help us train our youth in scientific fields.

Because only by developing our own industrial and military technologies can we build a sustainable future for Africa.

The war that has been imposed on us today is, in many ways, a new face of Nazism.

The terrorism we are confronting is not terrorism — it is imperialism.

It is our land that interests those who attack us.

Ending this war, building a strong army, and launching the development of our homeland — that is the meaning of our struggle.

And for this, the training of qualified personnel is vital.

We know you are engaged in a special military operation.

We understand the challenges you face, and what it means for the rest of the world.

That is why we are not here to ask for material aid.

The assistance we are seeking is knowledge transfer.

We would like to see more scholarships made available and also explore how we ourselves can fund student opportunities to study here.

Furthermore, we hope that Russian universities — especially the one I visited, and others focused on science — can establish branches in Burkina Faso, complete with the laboratories necessary to provide our youth with hands-on, practical training.

This is our essential request today:

To transform what we have at home.

To produce for ourselves.

And to make Burkina Faso a hub where many young Africans can come to study science.

Because here in Russia, you have mines of knowledge.

You have produced great minds whose works we continue to study.

That wisdom is like a tree, and we hope to draw from its roots to nourish our own development."

WE REJECT HUMAN RIGHTS WATCH BIAS AND LIBELLOUS REPORT AGAINST BURKINA FASO

The dawn of the Sahel Revolution has led to remarkable advances in defeating terrorism, poverty alleviation, regional integration and unity, and a reassertion of sovereignty and true independence. France and the United States and their allies have been antagonistic toward the Sahel Revolution, and have concurrently pursued a covert foreign policy, aimed at destabilising the Sahel States of Mali, Burkina Faso and the Republic of Niger, and murdering their leaders, as they did to past progressive leaders across Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean nations.

So why has international instruments like Human Rights Watch (HRW) and other Organisations and the corporate media so desperately wanting to interpret the foreign policies of France and US, toward Africa? This affinity for imperialist and neo-colonial-driven agendas are not limited to the Sahel or Africa. Human Rights Watch behaves like any organic intellectual in the imperialist hegemony, fiddling around the edges and adjusting details. It plays approximately the same game as the European-based Cultic Empire.

Human Rights Watch repeatedly focuses on vilifying the leaders of Mali, Burkina Faso and the Republic of Niger, while ignoring rapid development in the social and economic sectors that is taking place in those progressive African countries. The US-based NGO has also ignored the fact that the ongoing terrorism war was imposed on the Sahel region by those foreign powers that initiated and spearheaded the genocide campaign in Libya, notably NATO members-states led by France, the US and Britain. As a result, it routinely judges the African continent in a manner that promotes colonial and imperialist-driven agendas, and discredits governments seeking sovereignty and total independence from foreign manipulative mechanism.

(Bobo-Dioulasso, May 21, 2025). The President of Faso, Head of State, Captain Ibrahim TRAORÉ, arrived this Wednesday afternoon in Bobo-Dioulasso.

The population of the city of Sya turned out in large numbers to offer a welcome befitting the stature of their guest. From the entrance to the city, a jubilant crowd accompanied the Head of State’s convoy to his residence.

Throughout the Ouaga-Bobo journey, the presidential convoy was repeatedly slowed by enthusiastic, spontaneous gatherings along the route through localities such as Boni, Houndé, Koumbia, and others.

In the economic capital of Burkina Faso, the Head of State will preside over activities on May 22 and 23, 2025, as part of the modernization and intensification of our country’s agricultural production.

These include, in particular, the ceremony for the handover of agropastoral and fisheries equipment, the laying of the foundation stone for a cashew nut processing plant, and the launch of construction work for a veterinary medicine production unit.

🇧🇫- The brand new plane of Air Burkina made its first flight to Abidjan.

Air Burkina has just acquired a new aircraft. The announcement was made on September 28th, 2024 by the company.

The new aircraft, flown from China, is an “Embraer E190 with 6 business class seats and 92 economy class seats”, the national airline said.

It was able to connect Ouagadougou and Abidjan. Well, it’s a small beginning but the act is commendable because the plane was bought with our own money, not with a loan.

FYI, I think Air France 🇫🇷 is still banned from the AES since last year, after they arrogantly suspended their flights all because, Mali 🇲🇱 and Burkina welcomed the coup d’état in Niger 🇳🇪 and warned ECOWAS that if they attack Niger 🇳🇪, it will automatically amount to a declaration of war against all of them.

So, because of their support to Niger 🇳🇪, Air France 🇫🇷 suspended their flights to our three countries on August 7th, 2023 for about 3 days without prior notice. After the three days, when they came back that they will resume their flights, we bold them: “NO! YOU WILL NOT RESUME ON AUGUST 11th, 2023.”

The French have no respect nor consideration for Africans. They believe they can do whatever they like since they are so used to dealing with puppet leaders.

But
@GoitaAssimi

@CapitaineIb226
and General Tiani
@NIGER_CNSP
taught them a lesson and this is how they have lost access to our three countries.

Bear in mind that Air France 🇫🇷 was making about 500M CFA francs per day, that is close to $1M a day in Mali 🇲🇱 alone per what the Malian FM
@AbdoulayeDiop8
told us. Can you imagine what they were making from our three countries in a day?

But they lost all of it because of their arrogance. Obviously, their turnover has decreased, and I even read from Le Figaro that Air France will now test a new way to make its passengers pay for their meals onboard on certain destinations, come January 2025.

Can any Malian or Nigerien confirm to me whether Air France 🇫🇷 has resumed its flights in Bamako or Niamey? As for Burkina Faso 🇧🇫, I know they haven’t resumed their flight in Ouagadougou.

Anyway, this is a welcome development and we are still waiting for the AES airline to be launched. Let’s patronize our own airlines!

I see people asking me inbox if it’s true or a photoshop. It’s not fake. It’s real! This is our former Defense Minister who was recently appointed Ambassador of Burkina Faso to the United States of America 🇺🇸, his Excellency General Kassoum Coulibaly.

He presented his credentials this Thursday, July 24th, 2025, to President Donald J. Trump at the White House where he was able to hand them over, signed by Captain Ibrahim Traore, President of Faso, Head of the Burkinabè State.

So, yea, President Trump stood up to shake his hand and took photos with him while standing as it should be when a new ambassador is appointed to the host country. So, it’s nothing new.

However, this speaks volume, because we all saw recently how the 5 African clowns stood behind President Trump to take a photo while he was sitting.

🇧🇫 Ibrahim Traoré EVICTS Bill Gates

Burkina Faso has officially suspended the Target Malaria project, a Bill Gates–funded initiative that released genetically modified mosquitoes in the name of malaria prevention.

Burkinabe authorities also ordered the destruction of all related samples and materials in-country.

Captain Traoré’s government, sent a wider message: African nations will not be testing grounds for Western biotech experiments.

Russia and Burkina Faso Discussing Direct Air Connectivity
August 29, 2025 Africa, Logistics & Transport, Trade By Russia's Pivot to Asia

Russia and West Africa’s Burkina Faso are discussing plans to launch direct flights between their respective capitals—Moscow and Ouagadougou—aimed at boosting tourism, according to Aristide Tapsoba, the Burkina Faso Ambassador to Russia. Tapsoba made the comments at Technoprom 2025, the ongoing international forum on technological development, in Novosibirsk.

Tapsoba added, “We already have a Russian company that wants to launch direct flights between Ouagadougou and Moscow and between the capitals of Mali and Niger and Moscow. This is currently being discussed.”

He highlighted growing cooperation between Ouagadougou and Moscow in tourism and culture, noting that exchanges are already under way. He said a Burkinabe delegation of over 500 people is due to travel to St. Petersburg in October to work in the fields of tourism and the economy.

More than 500 Russians have also visited Burkina Faso since the beginning of 2025; some attended the Festival of Cinema and Television of African Countries in Ouagadougou, where a Russian symphony orchestra performed.

Russia has increased cooperation with several African nations across multiple sectors—including aviation, road, rail, and maritime transport—after declaring the development of mutually beneficial partnerships with the continent a foreign policy priority.

🇧🇫 Burkina Faso Cancels Visa Fees for African Citizens

The Ministry of Security of Burkina Faso has announced that visa fees for all African citizens will be abolished, effective with the 2025 national budget.

Officials say the move reflects the country’s pan-African vision, aiming to:
Encourage tourism and cultural exchange
Promote regional integration and free movement of people and goods
Enhance Burkina Faso’s visibility abroad

The government emphasized that this free visa regime strengthens solidarity among African nations and will help stimulate economic growth through travel and investment.

In related news, Burkina Faso’s Ambassador to Russia, Aristide Tapsoba, confirmed in August that discussions are underway to establish direct air links between Ouagadougou and Moscow, which could further open the country to international visitors and trade.

:focus:~~~

This is still off-topic (even more so!), but I just wanted to share this photo and story, again all about Botswana's diamonds. :)

This is the largest natural diamond found in over 100 years:

Burkina Faso’s Captain Ibrahim Traoré marked three years with a rare press conference, vowing to reclaim mines, confront savage capitalism, and put sovereignty at the center. He warned of foreign encirclement and pledged weapons would soon be made in Burkina Faso.

Eight “humanitarians” from a Dutch NGO were arrested in Burkina Faso — accused of spying under the cover of aid.

Once again, the noble art of aid meets the old craft of espionage.

The INSO group, tied to the ghost of USAID, followed a familiar script: maps, missions, and moral slogans masking intelligence work.

🇷🇺🇧🇫 Russia to Launch Engineering Classes in Burkina Faso

Russia’s Deputy Energy Minister Roman Marshavin announced that Moscow will open pilot engineering classes in Burkinabé schools by the end of 2025, under a joint initiative unveiled at the Russian-African Raw Materials Dialogue in St. Petersburg.

“At the initiative of the Russian side, the launch of a pilot project for engineering classes in Burkina Faso is already being worked on this year. We hope similar educational initiatives will develop in other Sahel countries,” Marshavin said.

The project aims to train local specialists for future industrial and resource-sector jobs, part of a broader Russia-Africa cooperation framework that now includes uranium, gold, and ore mining projects, as well as the construction of energy-generation facilities across the continent.
