Bear with me on this, but love him, hate him or loathe him, lYes he does have this polarising effect on people), but let's stop and think for a minute - about what's happened to this guy...
Now, from outside the usa looking in, it appears that he is a survivor...
He's survived:
the Media continually trying to besmirch his character
the Dems continually trying to besmirch his character
a Russia Investigation
an impeachment trial
those trying to bankrupt him
those trying to convict him
those corrupt in the FBI
those corrupt in the DOJ
a corrupt Attorney general
a corrupt DA in Manhattan
a corrupt DA in Atlanta
and then...
...He survives an assassin's bullet.
Having written a book about Resilience, it appears to me that Donald Trump’s is one heck of resilient chap amidst unprecedented opposition. Especially when most folk are at pinging point with stress when a webpage takes an extra 7 seconds to load or someone cuts up at the traffic lights or someone gets served before us at a bar.
From media scrutiny and political manoeuvring to legal battles and personal threats, Trump has navigated an array of challenges that would have overwhelmed many people. His survival and continued influence raise important questions about the nature of political conflict, "lawfare" and the role of media and legal institutions in modern times.
As debates about his legacy and future continue, he certainly embodies the polarisation and intensity of modern politics, and as for what happened with secret service protecting him last weekend, well that raises a shed load of other questions too.
I wonder who at the top of the secret service will survive an independent investigation into weaknesses and failings in not averting his assassination attempt, - what with ai, a global intelligence network, communications monitoring systems, satellites, internet, and shed loads of funding and manpower. Eeee me, time will tell.

Hey, scotslad. I like your theme of resilience here, and I think this thread should be about that, more than just DJT’s resilience story. You wrote a book on it, there must be many learnings/examples. If you agree, the mods can change the thread title.
I have been a pretty resilient guy, and I love the wild anecdotes about others’ successes.
Cheers from Alberta, where lots of sun and some rain should mean happy farmers.

I changed the first post title, not sure how to change the main thread title ;)
as for a few of my own examples of resilience...
not including taking on a $2Billion+ firm of US lawyers, and doggedly staying determined in my goal - and then winning dealing with all maters myself (all documented and shared in another of my books) ;) yet another example of hey ho, same ****, different day and that sometimes life is happening for us and not to us...
Some other wee examples of late:
• During Covid-19 Pandemic I was receiving injections in my only eye to preserve my sight.
• Received training from Northeast Sensory Services, on how to walk with a white stick.
• Was on an iv in hospital for 10 days recovering from sepsis.
• My right leg was in a boot after surgery (thankfully it wasn’t amputated.)
• I needed the boot for 9 months after the surgery.
• I did some research and discovered a marketplace worth £340bn.
• I set new goals in wanting to write a book, do a TEDX talk and speak at an industry event.
• I wanted to write a new book about martech and marketing automation.
• I thought I’d write a series of books for intr@preneurs and would register the trademark.
• (Didn’t think, I’d have a wee disagreement with a multi-billion-dollar legal firm – and won)
• I did my Tedx talk in Aberdeen.
• Due to one of the books, I was invited to Saudi Arabia to deliver a keynote at an industry event.
• I went on to write 10 books in 10 months & got them published by an international publisher.
• My wife wanted to move closer to the sea, so we did a house move in the middle of all this.
• Yes, I had a few extra distractions to deal with in addition to the covid-19 pandemic 😉
I share a few other wee examples of resilience in my tedx talk here -
"From human being, to human becoming, what do you want to become next in your life"

But I am sure there are far more people in this community with other more humbling stories of their own resilience to tell illustrating great examples of human spirit and I'd love to hear them too, I still do think tho that DJT has shown incredible resilience under all the emotional, financial and physical "pain" he's experienced and endured (probably more than most folk, I'd say)...
...and yes, I'd love to hear of other member's examples of their own resilience too, afterall everyone has a story to tell and this is an excellent community for giving others a voice about what's on their mind ;)

Great examples, Sir, and your TED x Aberdeen talk hit it out of the park.
“ …not sure how to change the main thread title.”, just ask for Bill Ryan’s or moderators’ help/action.
Please tell the story about how you lost sight in that eye, and maybe what that has meant for you.
Cheers from Canada, from a fading but still somewhat energetic other brother, lover of good life stories.
From Bill:
Yes, I've changed the thread title, and can easily change it again if anyone thinks I've not quite got it right. As it's about resilience in general (a great topic!), I also moved the thread to The Human Condition.

I wonder who at the top of the secret service will survive an independent investigation into weaknesses and failings in not averting his assassination attempt,
The only "independent investigation" is occurring right now, in real time, all across the internet, by average Joes like you and me. Unfortunately, that's as far as it will go: an internet trial and jury, with no real-world implications.
The real investigation (Congressional or otherwise) will, I've little doubt, be a flim-flam job, identical to the Warren Commission that was presided over by the CIA. Essentially what we had there was the perpetrators of the crime investigating themselves.
Unless, of course, Trump survives to November and wins the election. Then, and only then, might we get an honest and transparent investigation of what really happened at that rally.
