The 3 (big) fingers seem strange to me because it does not allow a good grip of objects for a humanoid form. No opposable thumb (or claw), mmh... 2 fingers + an opposable thumb is better.
Or it’s a bad experiment but I don’t see a species that is so poorly equipped to develop anything viable.

Well, there may be different designs of bodies in their population, like you get soldier ants, queens etc.
These 3 fingered guys if real may just be 'touch pad' operators or something.
Its of course possible that these havent naturally evolved..

3 fingers and a thumb are very functional (many of us would not suffer if they lacked their little finger). You can be hyper-specialized, but that doesn’t mean you can’t do the other routine life tasks...

Now I remember seeing an Indian man with his arms amputated repair watches with his feet so maybe in the end, we can get by with what we have...


But nature always has a concern for performance and if I had to create a species in my service, I would make sure that it is as functional as possible.

Those skinny little bodies aren’t meant to fight, anyway.
