"Blessed are the meek for they shall inherit the earth" Matthew 5:5

I was researching this today, as I wondered who "the meek" are, thinking that meek is another word for timid, which has rather weak connotations. Thinking further, the masses are weak as a whole in that they - we - are ruled by the few who seek to subjugate mankind for their own ends.

But it seems that the word "meek" as it pertains to the biblical meaning, refers to humility and gentleness, a quiet strength, especially in relationship to and with God and other living things.

But is it enough to be humble, faithful and gentle, to ultimately overcome force and power, especially in the chaos all over the planet today? I'm so tired of fighting all this negativity.

There's a Wiki page dedicated to just this:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matthew_5:5

It's a detailed and interesting article. It starts with:
In the King James Version (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/King_James_Version) of the Bible the text reads:
Blessed are the meek,
for they shall inherit the earth.
The World English Bible (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_English_Bible) translates the passage as:
Blessed are the gentle,
for they shall inherit the earth.
The Novum Testamentum Graece (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Novum_Testamentum_Graece) text is:
μακάριοι οἱ πραεῖς,
ὅτι αὐτοὶ κληρονομήσουσιν τὴν γῆν.
~~~
I checked the translation of πραεῖς on a number of different sites, and the consensus was benign, meaning 'harmless' or wishing or intending no harm. For me personally, that seems to fit the original meaning the best. :heart:
Many thanks Bill. If there's no further traffic, perhaps this could be moved to the Support thread?
I often feel the same, so tired of fighting, is this the only way to solve problems? Or is it more than that? Many problems we continue to have come down to a few question categories that many on the PA forum keep coming back to.
What is the real problems that keep repeating themselves over and over.?
Why do we end up doing this?
What is at the root of these experiences?
I can't help but think that it boils down to knowing where we come from, why we are here and how we fit into the bigger picture.
Why don't we know that? Something seems very wrong and deliberate about that to me. If we had that understanding we would all treat each other and the earth with respect, create in the hope of growing and evolving in the direction that would make sense and benefit all things as each is dependant on the rest.
...
... I ran into an interesting definition when following the Greg Hallett saga:
"The meek shall inherit the Earth..." which prompted Greg Hallett to dig into what the definition of "meek" actually is and stated as follows:
“Having the resources to fight, being trained to fight and ready to fight, but not fighting”
Where I would refine the "not fighting" into "not attacking but ready to defend." which is a rule that's circumvented by "false flags." That would yield something like:
“Having the resources to fight, being trained and ready to fight but only in defense, never as an aggressor.”
... martial arts kind of rules...
... which abides by the universal rule of "Do no harm" but in self defense or to protect the innocent... Clif High's kind of attitude...
Of course, there is that piece of Earth/land in the M.E. where the occupational forces call themselves "IDF" to circumvent bad Juju... but there is a "resistance" that's growing and strengthening...
Jordan Peterson: The Meek Shall Inherit The Earth (A Misunderstood Phrase):
Peterson explains the phrase from the New Testament "the meek shall inherit the Earth". Familiarisation with your dark side is an essential step on road to enlightenment but the goal is to use this rougher side of your character to stand against tyranny.
The Meek Shall Inherit The Earth - Explained!! (<<??):
quote: "Question?! How can the "meek inherit the earth" when we have been taught that "God is going to destroy this earth?" When will the meek inherit this earth??
Today I will reveal to you the missing puzzle piece.. It is quite interesting to me that we have bible scholars and bible schools all around this world that skip over this KEY SCRIPTURE..
My name is Cory Gray and nice to meet you today! If this message blessed you then share it with someone and ask them what they think.. Ask yourself.. Does this make sense and carry the potential to bear good fruit?
Then ask yourself this... Does the teaching that God needs to destroy this planet and things need to get worse and worse produce good fruit??
The meek shall inherit this earth, when Jesus said "this earth" that is exactly what he meant.. Not some other earth in our future.. This earth you and I are currently standing on..
The lie of the enemy has been to trick the minds of believers into believing they don't really have dominion or kingdom in this earth until later.. That my friends is a defeated gospel..."
Why don't we know that? Something seems very wrong and deliberate about that to me.to Summary:
Gnostic books
Castaneda books
Gurdiieff books
Robert Monroe books
All of them "explain" that all of our interactions (competition,war,love/hate relationships,etc.)are just
different flavor of "Loosh" for the "gods"...Earth is a loosh farm.
And our struggles don't end by death, then come another "level"...
References to that: The death book from Egyptians, the Bardo Thodol (the death book from tibeter),The Gnostic's again, from India (the Vedas and the Bhaga Dita or something...and on and on...
Given that the Bible is a deep state document, I’m sure the Elohim worshippers redefine their guys as the meek…
…and given how this globe is run, the “meek” are winning…
I see the term "meek" as a concept of the Tao.
Many of the biblical teachings likely reflect concepts from more ancient oriental understandings.
To me, the whole Tao Teh Ching is around this very concept, and is a prime example of paradox.
Below are a few example verses I remembered:
Tao Te Ching - Lao Tzu - chapter 76
A man is born gentle and weak.
At his death he is hard and stiff.
Green plants are tender and filled with sap.
At their death they are withered and dry.
Therefore the stiff and unbending is the disciple of death.
The gentle and yielding is the disciple of life.
Thus an army without flexibility never wins a battle.
A tree that is unbending is easily broken.
The hard and strong will fall.
The soft and weak will overcome.
Forty-three
The softest thing in the universe
Overcomes the hardest thing in the universe.
That without substance can enter where there is no room.
Hence I know the value of non-action.
Teaching without words and work without doing
Are understood by very few.
Eight
The highest good is like water.
Water give life to the ten thousand things and does not strive.
It flows in places men reject and so is like the Tao.
In dwelling, be close to the land.
In meditation, go deep in the heart.
In dealing with others, be gentle and kind.
In speech, be true.
In ruling, be just.
In daily life, be competent.
In action, be aware of the time and the season.
No fight: No blame.
