Hurricane Helene is a Cat-1 right now and is projected to strengthen to a Cat-4. It's one of the largest storms viewed from space at 1,000 mi/1,609 km in diameter. They're saying storm surge is the biggest threat.

Prayers for all in the path of this, I have family near Tampa.
It is already pushing rain here in Tn., it has rained and stormed with wind here for the past two days.
They have already closed our schools in my county for flooding. Still pouring rain today and will all night
as well as tomorrow.

Streets are already flooding, I and all my family are safe, most of us live higher up on the hills.

This article claims Helene is a weather warfare attack on the state of Florida because Gov. Ron DeSantis signed an executive order (https://stateofthenation.co/?p=253274) in regard to the attempted Trump assassination.

theburningplatform (https://www.theburningplatform.com/2024/09/26/operation-hurricane-helene-nwo-cabal-launches-vicious-geoterrorist-attack-against-florida-why-now/)

Dear Governor DeSantis,

This is one of several open letters that we have written to you about the extremely dire predicament known as weaponized weather attacks, which the state of Florida is again facing in the form of the geoengineered Hurricane Helene.

Here is a previous open letter that was sent to you two years ago just before the highly weaponized Hurricane Ian ravaged the state of Florida quite deliberately before Election Day.

In point of fact, every single member of the Florida Legislature has been made aware of the stark reality that the once ‘Sunshine State’ has been unrelentingly geoegineered via various chemical geoengineering technologies into the “Chemcloud Cover State”.

To the point, now we see yet another transparently geoengineered superstorm barreling right toward Tallahassee. “Transparent” because the meticulous manmade development of Hurricane Helene, from its very inception onward, has all the signatures of a manufactured frankenstorm. See: NWO Geoengineers Manufacture Yet Another Superstorm To Aim Right At Tallahassee

Did you know, Gov. DeSantis, that Helene was first predicted the day after you did this? DeSantis signs order expediting investigation into Trump assassination attempt, expects ‘attempted murder’ charges

In order to see the hard evidence which conclusively proves that the timing of Hurricane Helene was precisely executed as a threat to you and your administration, please consult the following link (https://stateofthenation.co/?p=253268).

I just heard from a woman standing at a podium in the live feed in post#1 that vehicles with lithium batteries can catch fire via salt water and suggests getting them out of the way. Florida buys the second most Tesla's of all the states (https://worldpopulationreview.com/state-rankings/tesla-sales-by-state).

Google AI Overview

Yes, lithium-ion batteries can catch fire when exposed to saltwater, and this can be a serious risk for ocean-going vessels:

Chemical reaction

Saltwater can corrode and short circuit lithium-ion batteries, which can then react with internal solvents to create a fire risk.

Difficult to put out

Lithium-ion fires are considered metal fires, and conventional firefighting methods don't work well on them. For example, pouring water on a lithium fire can actually make it worse because it cracks the hydrogen out of the water and makes the fire even more fierce.

Risk for ocean-going vessels

Ocean-going car carriers are at particular risk, as was seen in the case of the Felicity Ace car transport ship.

U.S. Coast Guard warnings

The U.S. Coast Guard has issued safety alerts warning the shipping industry of the extreme risk of loading electric vehicles with damaged lithium-ion batteries onto commercial vessels.

International Maritime Organization

The International Maritime Organisation's Maritime Safety Committee has considered proposals to evaluate the adequacy of fire protection, detection, and extinction arrangements for ships carrying new energy vehicles.

I am looking at a heap of warnings and the ones that have switched to "Immediate" are Flash Floods in the Appalachian Mountains.

The closest "Future" for me is Tornados.

Fortunately we are far enough inland that we are just out of that path; almost everything gets knocked down to a Cat. 1 by the time we see it. It is however possible for even the mountains to get hit harder. NWS is aiming this one through Atlanta up to Paducah.

NOAA looping link (https://www.star.nesdis.noaa.gov/GOES/floater.php?stormid=AL092024#homePageLink) just looks ferocious.

At the coast:

...inundation could reach as high
as 20 feet above ground level, along with destructive waves.

After
landfall, a turn to the north over Georgia is expected late tonight
and early Friday, followed by a slowdown or a complete stall over
the Tennessee Valley late Friday and Saturday when Helene merges
with a mid- to upper-level low.

Yes, I did a vegan bake sale there once.

I didn't know vegans could cook. It was actually really good!

Lake Lure is over by Bat Cave and:

Panicked local officials initially said the Waterville Dam and the Lake Lure Dam had burst, but both were reportedly still holding as of Friday afternoon.

The main danger is flooding already-waterlogged ground:

Slightly less dramatic than Florida, until a mountain falls on your face.

The coastal people are at least braced for the fact that everything there is quite temporary. It's a racket. At a certain level, they want it to wash out, so it can be rebuilt.

Further inland, you don't really plan for this, and those dams are about a 100 years old. I can't remember how many are thanks to Alcoa. You can't eat fish from those places.

I watched the warnings, and our rain fizzled out and the winds died down and nothing major happened around here. So that was strange. I am sure the results are terrible, for hundreds of miles.

Hello everyone, as I said in a previous post, we were getting so much rain and wind thus all the flooding in surrounding areas here in East Tn. Our power went out Thursday night at 8 pm EDST and it was reported to hopefully be back on late Sunday night.

We remained home that night and next day, we had no generator as our power rarely goes out, so since we were thinking it's still two days or more without power we did manage to find a near by hotel with one vacant room so we packed up and left...after being at the hotel a couple hours our neighbor text us and said the power was back on, so we checked out and came back home. We had it rented for three days, but they gladly gave our money back, they knew a lot of folks around here were having the same problem plus lots of out of town folks relocating from the Storms...We lost lots of trees, mostly came up by the roots the ground was so saturated and power lines down. Plus we had gust of winds up to 65-70 MPH.

Thankful that we are all safe, and so is my family in Fl. Thank you all so much for the prayers and good thoughts.

Hurricane Helene has been blamed for at least 56 deaths across five states, including 23 people in South Carolina and 11 in Florida. But the death toll is sure to rise as authorities continue to take stock of Helene’s devastation. In hard-hit Buncombe County, North Carolina, where Asheville is located, authorities said they know people died but aren’t announcing anything because communication outages haven’t allowed them to reach relatives of the victims.
Prayers for all the families!🙏

That's horrendous.

I passed by the edge that told me I-40 was closed except for emergency traffic. The closure was probably at least 100 miles outside of Asheville. You don't just close a major interstate on a whim.

Looks like a nightmare.

Asheville is not Florida, they don't have a business plan based on being whisked away. I would not be surprised if we set up a donation box and if not I am going to suggest it. We can probably get the Army to airlift it if need be. I hope I am not the only one thinking this.

Will catch up on this thread for news and videos as I can, if power stays up.

My location is west of Asheville - not planning to be more specific here than that.

No one in my little valley upstream from my house can drive out, road is a stream bed now, nearly lost access to/from house when small stream washed away some of driveway entrance, but I kept managing floating wood debris during peak of flooding to keep culvert open, saved that entrance minus a foot of top gravel and other ruts. Shared private drive up to that point is now a (mostly dry) partial stream bed, but I moved enough rocks around to clear high spots and fill lower ones, got car out to find no cell towers up or power in whole area, but amazingly came on last night.

Walked upper road beyond house and where power and fiber leaves poles to go underground, now exposed power and fiber due to creek flooding are now in water and above ground - if/when DOT comes to fix road will probably cut those lines so I don't know if power stays up for long or not.

Pole where my fiber comes off of lost 5 feet of earth around it, other poles and wires may be holding it up for now.

All things considered we were lucky - no trees on house and many neighbors lost bridges across stream to their houses, or were evacuated during flooding.

How bad it is still slowly becoming known - with connectivity restored, amazing and horrifying videos will start being shared - saw a drone video of Marshall downtown covered in river, etc.

Copied much of above here, will add I am appreciating this aggregation of news and videos in this thread as we only started getting battery-radio reports of how bad the area has it last night.

North Carolina Receives Federal Major Disaster Declaration for North Carolina
President Biden has granted Governor Roy Cooper’s request for a Federal Major Disaster Declaration for Tropical Storm Helene providing immediate federal help for 25 North Carolina counties and the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians.

President Biden has granted Governor Roy Cooper’s request for a Federal Major Disaster Declaration for Tropical Storm Helene providing immediate federal help for 25 North Carolina counties and the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians.

The declaration means that FEMA will be able to speed additional help to the state, and provide Individual Assistance to people living in those counties, as well as Public Assistance to reimburse local governments, state agencies, and non-profits or other eligible organizations for funds spent repairing facilities and infrastructure.

“The people in western North Carolina are hurting from this devastating storm and we are all working to get resources to people as fast as we can,” said Governor Cooper. “We have deployed rescue teams, transportation crews, water, mobile kitchens and more. This is going to be a long-term recovery and this federal declaration will help us respond.”

The counties in the declaration are Alexander, Alleghany, Ashe, Avery, Buncombe, Burke, Caldwell, Catawba, Clay, Cleveland, Gaston, Haywood, Henderson, Jackson, Lincoln, Macon, Madison, McDowell, Mitchell, Polk, Rutherford, Transylvania, Watauga, Wilkes, and Yancey Counties as well as the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians. As response operations and eligible damages dictate, North Carolina may be able to add additional counties or programs as assessments move forward. This declaration will also provide Hazard Mitigation Grant Program funding for future efforts to mitigate the impacts of future events.

This declaration is in addition to the federal emergency declaration already in place prior to the impacts of Tropical Storm Helene.

Read the declaration summary here.

No, there was no warning that North Carolina or Tennessee was going to be devastated in a mud flood along with landslides from #helene #tnwx #ncwx

They were told they’d get 15 inches of rain. Then guess what happened? They said 30 inches, but then retracted the story and said “sorry, that was a glitch, won’t be that much.”

Imagine saying this to someone who’s lost everything and doesn’t know if they’ll survive. “Well, you had warning” (when you didn’t)

I live in the blue Ridge Ga area and we were spared devastation as the edge of Helene strafed us. There are good pages on Reddit to connect people with resources. I have not sent money yet as I am not sure where the org is trust worthy. Yesterday when I looked at reddit there was a presumed nurse reporting "100s" of bodies in the Mission Hospital morgue. That seems impossible (to have gathered so many deceased) as of that time.

People who post outrageous negative untrue statements in a disaster are the WORST kind of troll. However, it COULD be possibly true according to someone on twitter that 20,000 people dead is not an outrageous number. Again, really unbelievable as it is so unthinkable. What is inescapable is that either nature or manipulation of weather is able to dismantle civilization is 24 hours.

Having a bug out bag and prepping supplies only works if you know where to bug out TO and have a dry stable shelter FOR supplies. WHAT are we supposed to take away from ALL this havoc? I am taking away gratitude today that I have shelter and my animals are safe. It COULD change in a day. or LESS>

There are some indications that people ARE self organizing and that is what we all must realize is our only strength against what looks like planned take down IMO.

The fact that so many small towns have been washed out and roads, infrastructure destroyed plays us a song that sounds like Maui in a way. It is such a major disaster from Florida through eastern GA into Western NC and Tenn and South Carolina. So many hits in so many ways and at a time when winter is coming. I am planning to devote all my disposable income to supporting an organization trustworthy to deliver directly to people.

If WE as a community with friends in this area help our friends, to me that would feel very satisfying. I wish we who are on the same page could be living close by. Here in my neighborhood, I wonder how we would fare if we had been directly hit with wind and rain as Helene delivered to other communities.

I am so glad Mountain Jim has a home intact.

This area on the agenda 21 map including my area, are shown as areas where people may not EVEN GO. Also, there ARE LARGE lithium deposits in the mountains near Asheville. Thanks as always we have this forum and I will post the resource gatherers I decide seem to be using funds for people and animals.

More than 1,000 people have been reported unaccounted for in a devastated North Carolina county where 10 people have already been confirmed dead after Hurricane Helene, officials said Sunday.

Authorities in Buncombe County reported the horrifying toll in an emergency meeting announcing emergency medical shelters and ongoing rescue efforts in areas almost overwhelmed by stormwater.

They also announced a special website to appeal for help finding those unaccounted for — with “more than 1,000 reports so far,” one local official told the live-streamed meeting.

1,000 people reported unaccounted for in North Carolina county hit hardest by Hurricane Helene

“We’re doing the best we can,” Buncombe County Sheriff Quentin Miller said of conditions making it almost impossible to reach the stranded due to collapsed roads, failing infrastructure and widespread flooding.

Many of the unaccounted for are hoped to just be those without electricity and efforts to let loved ones know they are safe, officials said.

However, the county, home to Asheville, already has 10 of the Tar Heel State’s 11 confirmed deaths — a terrible toll expected to soon rise, Gov. Roy Cooper conceded.

“We know there will be more,” he said Sunday.

Emergency response teams have rescued more than 40 people in the Ashville area, including an infant, thanks to a combination of 911 calls and pleas for help on social media, North Carolina Adjutant General Todd Hunt said.

Critical supplies are being airlifted to stranded communities as crews scramble to clear roads and restore communication lines.

As of Sunday afternoon, Helene has killed at least 60 people and left millions without power since the storm slammed into Florida on Thursday.

Katie Pate of Fairfax, Virginia, posted a plea for help on X when she lost contact with her parents outside Asheville, North Carolina. This story, however, has a happy ending.

“My dad called to tell me they were getting the generator set up, then after that, he was a ghost,” said Pate. “I was seeing just a steady stream of deterioration in western North Carolina, but all I could do was sit and wait.”

After 24 hours of silence, Pate finally got them on the phone. She learned storm had knocked out power for most of the county, and where the roads weren’t flooded, they were covered in fallen trees. The couple, both 75, loaded a chainsaw into their pickup truck and cut a path to a nearby inn — the only place in town with cell service.

“People don’t realize that even if you can get someone on the phone, you still can’t get to them. Everywhere is cut off,” Pate said. “You have to have a chainsaw to get anywhere. The asphalt in the roads is crumbling. The bridges are collapsing. It’s like a horror movie.”

In Texas, Jessica Drye Turner begged for someone to rescue her family members stranded on their rooftop in Asheville, surrounded by rising flood waters. “They are watching 18 wheelers and cars floating by,” Turner wrote in an urgent Facebook post on Friday.

But in a follow-up message, which became widely circulated on social media on Saturday, Turner said help had not arrived in time to save her parents, both in their 70s, and her six-year-old nephew. The roof had collapsed and the three drowned.

“I cannot convey in words the sorrow, heartbreak and devastation my sisters and I are going through nor imagine the pain before us,” she wrote.

"Hey y’all. I’m an employee at Ingles here in Burnsville,a town outside Asheville. I know a lot of you have questions about what the deal with us is so I’m gonna tell you everything that I know.

Be in mind that some of this info may change without notice so take it with a grain of salt.
STORE HOURS: For the foreseeable future our hours will be 8am - 5pm.
Unfortunately all items in meat department and most items in frozen department are a total loss. I work in the produce department and for the most part we’ve been able to salvage as much as we could with really only the veggie bar where cut fruit and veggies daily is completely empty.
To avoid chaos in the store we are only allowing a few customers at a time inside so people are tearing each other apart for some groceries so please be patient as we try to help as many people as we can.
I know a lot of you are scared and confused. But please PLEASE remember to stay civilized as we continue to recover from this mess.
When more information is available I will make a follow up post.
Below are pictures of what it looks like at our store right now
Thank you and may God bless you and may God bless Western North Carolina and Eastern Tennessee"

We’re now delivering hot pizzas to NC State Police and flood victims near Asheville, which
@ChrisHallWx
hauled in from 60 miles away.

This is the first hot, fresh meal these folks—INCLUDING STATE TROOPERS—have had in DAYS.

What’s going on out here is an absolute TRAVESTY. It needs to be called out all over the country.

A message from Lebanon Lifesaving Crew:

The Lebanon Lifesaving Crew station will be open for the public to use the shower facilities from 3pm-8pm today (Sunday, Sept 29).
Bottled water will be available, as well as access to charge electronics. (Please BYO charger)

We have one shower stall for males and one for females, there is likely to be a wait. Soap, shampoo, and conditioner will be available, but we do not have towels or wash cloths. Please bring your own. Unfortunately we do not have handicap accessible facilities at this time.

Also, EMS is depleting the available portable oxygen tanks more quickly than we are able to replenish. If anyone has unused oxygen cylinders they would like to donate to Russell County Emergency Management, please reach out.

Here are a few steps patients can take prior to calling 911 if it is not an active emergency (patients who are running out of oxygen immediately, experiencing difficulty breathing, or experiencing a life or limb threatening health emergency should call 911 immediately)

1- Reach out to relatives with electricity to see if they can temporarily accommodate the patient so home oxygen units can be utilized until electricity is restored.

2- Contact your home oxygen supply company and make them aware of the situation and to determine if oxygen is available through your company.

3- Please be aware that EMS agencies will respond to 911 calls but we can not guarantee the availability of portable oxygen cylinders. Patients can be transported to the hospital for oxygen administration in case of emergency.

Our crews have been working around the clock along with many other agencies and first responders to care for patients. We extend our sincere appreciation to those working to provide care and restore our community.

I found nothing.

I worked on about an hour of sleep, which is not such a big deal, but there wasn't any reaction. Instead, everyone was doing the Same Thing. I kept turning in circles until I became disoriented, and it was like sailing off into space, because no one said anything. I mentioned it to one person I work with and they were like "yeah that's bad" and that was it. No, I don't have a single moment to wander to the office and say it myself, so now when I work nights there won't be anyone anyway, so I can't really do anything, except watch and see if nothing continues to happen.

Maybe I missed something, especially if they do it like the Food Bank, I wouldn't be able to tell. Certainly nothing came to my attention. For ten hours.

This is way beyond what the Tar River does, and, on a local level, is probably the worst damage I have ever heard of. Katrina was perhaps worse but that is kind of far away. This almost cleaned our clock, too, and I failed to detect any public response. I will see if the farm store is doing anything tomorrow.

Is FEMA now weaponized?

Hurricane Helene shellac's the Southeast, where is FEMA and where were the warnings?

—Colonel (Retired) John Mills

Nothing in the Federal Government appears to be working. Hurricane Helene has hit several Southeast states very hard. Unanticipated floods are everywhere and thousands are missing. Social media is the best way to learn what is going on and who needs help where.

This begs the question of where is the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA)? Their national Emergency Operations Center is close to L'Enfant Plaza in Washington, D.C. Was it staffed up? Did it give the proper alerts? Was this Hurricane not a priority since it was hitting Red States?

With the Harris Team, no insidious action is off the table.

It’s heartbreaking to see this devastation.

I agree the government is not real effective in these dire situations.

When we lost power for a couple of weeks from multiple state-wide tornados, it was the people who organized relief for their neighbors. Restaurants opened up, cooked and served food from their freezers and gave it away.

Radio stations broadcast where to get hot food and clean water, who had petrol for sale, and told us where the action was.

Saw some interesting conspiracy theory that this hurricane and toxic fire at Conyers could have been planned to force people out from the area so they could start to dig lithium in that region. Interesting if true . Aftermath of Maui fires showed that government wasnt interested of helping people but Blackrock was very much interested to buy up a lot of land in that area... I guess we will see what comes out of it.

If so, they shot themselves in the foot, because the indispensable mines of Spruce Pine, which provides high quality quartz worldwide, are largely impacted by the damage of the surrounding roads...

"A 2018 note from Wired shows just how critical Spruce Pines area mines are for semiconductor production: "A fire in 2008 at one of the main quartz facilities in Spruce Pine for a time all but shut off the supply of high‑purity quartz to the world market, sending shivers through the industry."

Earlier this year, Tom's Hardware cited Mollick's X posts, saying the Wharton professor "provides an excerpt from Conway's Material World, which discusses the probable "end of computer chip manufacture as we know it," should something untoward happen at Spruce Pine or in the skies above it." "

I need people to understand something with the news coverage regarding effects of hurricane Helene. There is a lot more to the NC Mountains than Asheville.
Boone, Blowing Rock, Banner Elk, Vilas, Sugar Grove, Elk Park, West Jefferson, Black Mountain, Swannanoa, Sylva, Cullowhee, Brevard, Bryson City, Hendersonville, Cherokee, Waynesville, Burnsville, Candler, Canton, Spruce Pine, Chimney Rock, Lake Lure, Linville, Marshall, Maggie Valley, Newland, Grandfather, Beech Mountain, Sugar Mountain, Old Fort, Morganton, Marion are just a few of the cities and towns that have been flooded and/or destroyed. The counties of Yancey, Mitchell, Avery, Ashe, Watauga, Transylvania, Burke, Caldwell, Alleghany, Madison, Buncombe, McDowell, Rutherford, Polk, Henderson, Wilkes, Haywood, Jackson, Macon, Clay, Cherokee, and Swain are devastated and in need of the same help, some even more.
Other counties that fall under various definitions of Western North Carolina include: Alexander County, Catawba County, Cleveland County, Surry County and Yadkin County. When these counties are added, they form a total regional area of roughly 11,750 square miles (30,400 km2).
This makes the region roughly the size of Massachusetts. Western North Carolina holds 11% of our state's population.
There are millions of people up there with no electricity, no communication, no water, and no way to get out or let rescue teams even know where they are. I am not taking anything away from Asheville and the utter destruction there or any other areas in NC that have damage. The level of destruction is unimaginable. But it's not one or two cities or towns that are in need of help.
This does not include the destroyed areas in the Tennessee mountains, Western Virginia, Georgia, or South Carolina.
Please do 2 things for me:
1. Donate to Operation Airdrop, Samaritan’s Purse, or Fleet of Angels (or all 3!)
2. Contact news media to get coverage for ALL of Western North Carolina. People need to know the full scope of this disaster so that more people can get desperately needed help. And so more people can be located because a lot of us have loved ones up there and we don't know if they're dead or alive.
These are our homes. These are places we raise our families. These are communities I work in on a daily basis. My heart breaks for everyone involved.

Video shows some anomalies in the storm . Does seem that weather manipulation was going on again either to direct the storm or to add more power to it.

Asheville North Carolina Resident Says It’s Chaos After Hurricane Helene

He says looters are everywhere, people are vandalizing everywhere

“There were some truckers coming in with supplies and medical stuff trying to help us”, People slashed their tires at the rest stop

“The roads are completely blocked off. You're not getting out”

Just as expected, I found that our local farm store is gathering stuff to send in. That is why I typically prefer small businesses, because someone can actually do something.

I don't know what I will find at our large corporation today. I would say we better maintain a steady stream of stuff at least until the affected are back on their feet. Outside of Asheville, those places are really remote, there will be considerable difficulty in making a comeback. The alternate scenario is literally what the federal government is terrified of, that it only takes a couple of days without supplies, and there will be looting and violence everywhere. It tends to make people dislike the government.

Concerning quartz, lithium, etc., this is basically correct, there is high-value mining starting from America's first gold rush in 1736, through various gems, up to this stuff for modern technologies. When I mentioned Alcoa, it wasn't by way of being polite, either, but kind of a dark chapter up until maybe around the 1960s, the kind of exploitation that could happen if for some reason similar forces attempt to hog the newer resources.

Full scope of Helene devastation not clear as recovery underway: 'Our hearts are broken'
The rushing water rose five feet higher in the Swannanoa River than anyone had ever seen.

The ground disappeared on South Tunnel Road, leaving a giant sinkhole full of asphalt soup.

Houses floated away from subdivisions. Bridges crumbled. The flood waters flipped semi-trucks into mangled piles. Mud and tree branches and food from local grocery stores flowed into the streets.

Survivors traipsed through muck to find drinking water, power, wifi and cell service.

Gov. Roy Cooper called Tropical Storm Helene a "catastrophic" and "historic" event with "life-threatening floods and landslides."

The storm stretched from Florida across the southern United States, pounding the South with heavy rainfall and flash floods. But it was in Asheville and across Western North Carolina where the storm brought some of the greatest damage.

Catastrophic impacts from Tropical Storm Helene devastate Appalachia

In a period of three days, Southern and Central Appalachia experienced unprecedented rainfall from a combination of a historic rain event and Tropical Storm Helene. Catastrophic flooding, landslides and extreme wind gusts have ravaged the region. Entire towns are isolated as access to roads has been shut off by flooding and landslides while cellular service has been degraded, shut off or overwhelmed. Reports indicate that some areas received up to 30 inches of rain.

Climate change is fueling the increased size and severity of these storms. These are our homes and communities that will have to recover from the damage for months — perhaps years — to come.

As information continues to trickle in on the havoc caused by this disastrous event, we are sharing efforts to get relief to impacted areas. We welcome information on places that are accepting donations, if you would like to contribute, please email us at: floodresources[at]appvoices.org. A tidbit from an Asheville local…

I saw a friend today who has family in both the Carolinas, one being her son outside of Asheville. He said there is no power, water, and spotty cell phone coverage. He walked a mile to finally get a signal to let his family know they are okay. The roads are mostly impassable.

Here’s how Helene and other storms dumped a whopping 40 trillion gallons of rain on the South (https://apnews.com/article/rainfall-helene-carolina-tennessee-georgia-climate-change-flood-fcba634e14a0ffa1a8e1fa85d7e2b390)

More than 40 trillion gallons of rain drenched the Southeast United States in the last week from Hurricane Helene and a run-of-the-mill rainstorm that sloshed in ahead of it — an unheard of amount of water that has stunned experts.

Text:
This gentleman hiked 11 miles to check on his parents— read his story of what all he saw.

—-

My parents are ok but completely trapped. Yesterday, I hiked up to check on them. Brain spew coming; I'm still processing it all and was just locked in on go-mode yesterday.

Still not having heard from my parents in 48 hours, I was drowning in worry. My parents live in an absolute gem of the NC mountains -- the Little Switzerland, Spruce Pine, Burnsville area -- halfway between Asheville and Boone. Under normal circumstances, it's pleasantly very isolated.

Little did I know that up there, Helene has demolished roads, homes and utility networks. **This area is completely cut off from resources in every direction.** I tried multiple routes to drive up but had to settle on parking in Marion at the base of a closed road (Hwys 221/226) and hiking 11 miles and 2,200 feet to find my parents thankfully ok but surrounded by devastation. I have never been so relieved to see anyone ok.

Crews weren't even close yesterday. I can't tell you how many failing roads and deep mudslides I had to cross, how many fallen trees I had to take off my backpack for and navigate through. While hiking up 226A, I met multiple people trapped by devastation in both directions of the highway.

In this part of the mountains with steep terrain rolling off the Blue Ridge Parkway, not only did water rise, it RAGED to tear up roads, earth and homes. Then, the winds (I'm certain tornados in some places) have brought down up to half the tree canopy.

I'm still processing it all. I've never seen anything like it. Power is a couple weeks out. I cannot fathom how long it will take DOT to repair the curvy roads that hug steep mountainsides with the most amazing views. Most of all, I want my parents to have the same basic needs they always provided me -- food, water, shelter (house is mostly ok) and the ability to explore! But they can't even leave their home right now. The steep part of their gravel road has braided channels only 18" wide but up to 5' deep from rushing water.

It's just a waiting game now. If you are or you have family in the mountains, I feel for you. Know that crews are chipping away.

out of curiosity and genuine interest...what would people like the federal government to do in this situation?

Vanish.

It is a valid question since the first five American presidents were reluctant or refused to allocate anything federal for disaster relief.

That is because they were in the job of shrewd management of money. It only had certain ins and outs. There was far less of it because its source was almost solely tariffs.

For some reason, in the intervening time since then, it began to charge income tax.

When that happens, I expect a near slave. I am always disappointed.

In this case, I think you have to start with helicopters for rescue and supplies. I saw a Chinook in one of the pictures which is Army, so, this seems to be a given.

I don't think we quite have the complication of Katrina, which was that the levees had more or less failed inspection, but repairs were ignored, so we are able to find fault here. Helene was a little different, because you don't realistically expect a bridge to survive a sixty-foot river surge.

It's touching because with articles flowing in on Little Switzerland, Old Fort and 9, and all this, I really do consider it part of my "neighborhood", even though I currently live far enough away to have suffered not the slightest thing. I asked our "boss" today about running a collection drive, and received the answer "I don't know". This was while I was literally throwing food in the trash and he said we throw away a lot of stuff. Suggested we use some kind of production guide. I told him that was useless because I know how to manage "stuff". Remember, that's not what he does--he can't take the initiative to start a collection drive, because nothing on paper empowers him to do this, like the first American presidents.

I'd do it for free. Just need to find someone with a truck. As if we don't have trucks, but I could find it. All it takes is that same space you give the Salvation Army to irritate me with those bells. Super easy! But how much easier for everyone to do it, because we already do the same thing for other reasons!

It's super creepy...remember, "day after" 9/11 and how freaked out everyone was, and now in the face of a real cataclysm, they go mute.

As you can see, it is super weird where I live, since for example I know some of the posted collection centers like the back of my hand. Nothing local. The farm store is not a "center", but probably is going to send the stuff *to* a center.

Right now you are going to get the lack of water and food starting to take its toll. Then infectious diseases and parasites. Then you will have a water table full of flushed out aluminum slough, and, whatever comes out of thousands of smashed-up cars and trucks. This is the best-case scenario. Only on the higher peaks where the springs come out is anything actually clean to begin with. What about, for example, the Candor paper mill? Please don't answer that.

This is not like "starting over". This is a level of cleaning that you better believe comes from the "uninhabitable" stage.

Anger over Tennessee Guard's MENA mission 'helping Israel' amid hurricane havoc
The recent deployment of 700 soldiers from the Tennessee National Guard to the region has sparked outrage in the wake of Hurricane Helene.

The US announcement of the Tennessee National Guard Task Force deployment to the Middle East has sparked widespread criticism, with many arguing that they would be better tackling the state’s ongoing hurricane disaster.

Last Thursday, Tennessee's Department of Ministry said that over 700 soldiers would leave their home state later on Saturday to receive training in Fort Bliss, Texas over the coming weeks before being deployed to Kuwait.

According to the military, the initiative will span a year and is reported to be in support of the US Central Command’s Operation Spartan Shield, where US forces have been defending Israel from potential attacks by Iran.

Since the Hurricane Helene disaster, SpaceX has sent as many Starlink terminals as possible to help areas in need.

Earlier today, @realDonaldTrump alerted me to additional people who need Starlink Internet in North Carolina. We are sending them terminals right away.

//////

(my comments)

Last night CBS News claimed Trump/Musk were taking credit for sending cellular terminals to Asheville, when actually they said actually FEMA had already done that.

What they did not disclose was that the FEMA terminals were Star Link terminals! - I never watch US MSM Network news but wanted to see some NC damage coverage and was appalled at how slanted their overall coverage all was against Trump and Musk.

FEMA providing Starlink satellite systems to western North Carolina
One Starlink will be deployed per county Emergency Operations Center.

ASHEVILLE, N.C. — As part of the ongoing recovery efforts in western North Carolina after Helene devastated much of the area, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) announced it is providing 40 Starlink satellite systems to the area to help with responder communications.

FEMA said additional satellites are also being shipped to "assist with communication infrastucture restoration."

Much of Valdosta — known for the success of its high school and college sports teams and for serving as home to Valdosta State University — is struggling to recover from the storm, and for many there, MacFarlane says the former president’s appearance “didn’t register.”

I don't know the truth of this, but I have read that some of the most devastated areas in NC are sitting on Lithium deposits, which I believe are mined for high profits. It reminds me of some of the devastated areas in New Orleans being cleared after the hurricane for high end condos.

It’s 3 am here in Western North Carolina, and I’m just turning in for the night.

Today was EYE OPENING.

We’ve already delivered multiple Starlinks to several emergency centers across the region who had been TOTALLY offline prior to our arrival.

The fact that there are still fire stations and first responders TOTALLY DISCONNECTED from colleagues in the same county is INSANE. We’re rapidly fixing that.

In addition, we distributed over $2,000 worth of

meals to hundreds of victims and first responders. One man we found in the mountains near Riceville was attempting to fill up water jugs so he could flush his toilet, and his face lit up when I offered him fresh hot Waffle House 🙂

The stories I’ve heard are just incredible. And the joy we’re bringing keeps me going.

I can’t thank NC State Police enough for giving us a full police escort through all these remote towns ravaged by Hurricane Helene. These troopers are absolute heroes.

HURRICANE: Communities across the south are being told to prepare for extended power outages as a result of a massive short of critical electrical equipment. It turns out the Biden-Harris regime hasn't just sent the bulk of our artillery shells to Ukraine - they've also sent them our nation's stockpile of critical electrical equipment.

The U.S. has always kept a stockpile of critical electrical equipment—like transformers and switchgear—to quickly restore power in the aftermath of disasters such as Hurricane Helene.

Now, with 360 substations in desperate need of new transformers, the country should be ready to respond. But here’s the catch: the Biden-Harris administration recklessly drained our stockpile by sending these crucial resources to Ukraine.

So while they're prioritizing foreign aid, millions of Americans could be left in the dark for months, suffering through extended power outages because of their poor decision-making. Once again, it’s America last under this regime.

Oh and don't get me started on selling our nation's strategic petroleum supply to China...

WEAPONIZATION: Remember the Biden-Harris regime blocked almost 20,000 North Carolina residents from having Starlink to punish Elon Musk for failing to support their regime. Meanwhile the regime had the FCC ignore the law and its own rules to expedite George Soros's takeover of 220 radio stations ahead of the election to reward the fact that he's the single largest Democrat donor in the world (presumably just ahead of the CCP).

How to Steer Hurricanes, Flood Homes, and Steal Lithium

(Video at the link)

"The lithium rich mines in North Carolina and the thieves who occupy government.
We have had the technology to create, control, and steer hurricanes for decades.

“Project Cirrus is the first Official attempt to modify a hurricane. It was run by General Electric with the support of the US military. The official theory was that by changing the temperature outside the eye-wall of a hurricane, which they did by seeding the clouds with various compounds such as silver iodide, a decrease in strong winds will result.

On October 13, 1947, Project Cirrus targeted a hurricane heading out to sea. Approximately 180 pounds of dry ice was dropped into the clouds. The crew then reported a "pronounced modification of the cloud deck". And the hurricane abruptly changed direction and made landfall near Savannah, Georgia. The public blamed the government.

Irving Langmuir, who pioneered General Electric’s atmospheric research department, and admired that the project was about learning how to weaponize the weather, also claimed the reversal of the hurricane had been caused by the project, but the government denied it for twelve years.

After a short delay, the project officially continued. And in 1965, Project Stormfury had targeted Hurricane Betsy for seeding. On that day the storm immediately changed direction and made landfall in Southern Florida. Congress blamed it on Project Stormfury but the government claimed that the hurricane changed direction before they ever had a chance to seed it. And after two months of Congressional hearings, the project was allowed to continue.”

~ Reese Report “Weather Weaponization and Hurricane Ian”

In 1997, U.S. Defense Secretary William Cohen admitted we have the technology to control the weather, including earthquakes and volcanoes. The U.S. government has placed gag orders on employees of the national weather service.

In October of 2012, after Hurricane Sandy weakened to a tropical storm, microwave imagery shows a thick red beam immediately followed by Sandy growing into a category 1 hurricane and taking an unexplained “left Turn” into New Jersey.

The push towards alternative energy demands more lithium. And according to the U.S. Geological Survey, the United States has over 6 million tons of identified lithium resources. The majority of this lithium has been identified in Kings Mountain, North Carolina. Kings Mountain is believed to have one of the largest resources in the world. But the biggest problem is that people live there. And they don’t want their quiet towns turned into lithium mines.

“People in Cherryville have been pushing against a proposed lithium mine for the last several years, but everyone we spoke with here said it's too divisive of an issue to share their opinion on camera. Cherryville is a small, quiet town.”
~ Local news reporter

“I think it's good that we keep it small.”
~ Anonymous resident

“So quiet, many don't feel comfortable speaking out against Piedmont Lithium's proposed mining operation nearby.”
~ Local news reporter

“I think we're a silent majority. I think a lot of people are afraid to say anything about it because they are bringing a lot to the town as far as money.”
~ Anonymous resident
Last year, the Department of Defense entered a ninety-million-dollar agreement with Albemarle Corporation to increase domestic production of lithium for the nation's battery supply chain. Specifically, from Kings Mountain, North Carolina starting by 2025.

This is the same area experiencing what is being described as biblical floods.

While the Federal government spends billions on foreign wars and illegal immigrants, they simply can not be bothered with the health and well-being of the American people. Especially those living on coveted mineral rich land."

Joe Biden was asked about the Federal government's lack of response, and all he did was complain about having to be on the phone for two hours because of the incident and reply that they were "monitoring" the situation.

Asheville North Carolina has Federal highways heading out in all four directions but it is shut off from the whole world. Pete Buttegieg, Secretary of Transportation, is nowhere to be seen.

People waiting to buy essential medications outside of drug stores which are staying closed because they don't want to accept liability that may have been water damaged. Police are there to keep people from entering the stores, but they aren't answering other emergency calls.

Yes, it is somewhat rare, but in the U. S. Geological Survey (https://www.sciencebase.gov/catalog/item/5d0baffce4b0e3d31162044c), there are about twenty known lithium sites, but only a few large strikes:

Arkansas, California, Nevada, North Carolina, and Utah

In the United States, lithium was first mined from pegmatite orebodies in South Dakota in the late 1800s. The Kings Mountain pegmatite belt of North Carolina also had significant production from pegmatites, and the area may still contain as much as 750 million metric tons (Mt) of ore containing 5 Mt lithium metal (Kesler and others, 2012). In 2018, U.S. production of lithium was restricted to a single lithium-brine mining operation in Nevada. In 2018, the U.S. had a net import reliance as a percentage of apparent consumption of more than 50 percent for lithium (U.S. Geological Survey, 2019). The U.S. is not a significant producer of lithium, so the commodity is mainly imported from Chile and Argentina to meet consumer demand.

King's Mountain is not in the mountains, it is the site of the Battle of King's Mountain. When the storm hit, it appeared to be the eastern edge of the immediate/critical danger path.

The Gaston Gazette is running and says damage there was modest (https://www.gastongazette.com/story/news/local/2024/09/30/gaston-county-sees-flooding-widespread-power-outages-during-helene/75429373007/) and they are putting more energy into sending aid westward.

So what they are experiencing is about like a normal Cat. 1 Hurricane which is to be expected 1-2 times per season. It's messy but it would be misleading to compare this to, say, Chimney Rock.

Crews work to rescue manatees left stranded from Helene

Gray News) - Manatees have been left stranded in Florida as the floodwaters caused by Helene recede.

Biologists with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission are working with organizations like the Save the Manatee Club to rescue manatees stranded inland.

“While our top priority has been to help residents and visitors of Florida recover from the impacts of Helene, we are also working swiftly to rehabilitate and conserve these gentle giants,” the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission said in a Facebook post.

Manatees can become stranded during “rough weather conditions” such as the conditions brought by Hurricane Helene. Helene made landfall in Florida Thursday night as a Category 4 storm.

The Save the Manatee Club said storm surges can cause manatees to move inland into areas that they normally don’t inhabit, leaving them stranded when the water recedes.

The organization also reported that typical manatee habitats can also be impacted, as the waters in these areas can recede to “irregularly low levels” and trap manatees.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is asking for the public to assist in their efforts by reporting stranded, injured or dead manatees they come across.

“Manatees stranded by storms may need immediate medical attention from wildlife experts,” the commission said.

They advise people to avoid handling animals on their own and to call the commission’s wildlife alert hotline at 888-404-3922.

I’m OK the house car and dog all OK. My footbridge washed out the roads are pretty damaged no Internet I’m writing this via cell service from the top of the hill. Don’t have time to read this thread, but just wanted to let folks know. I’m OK I’m able to drive out so I’m considering getting out of Dodge while I still can. The one way out, half the road is gone. So if we get another rain the road could wash out entirely and then I would be one of the folks trapped so I’m thinking of getting out while I can Much love to all of you Project Avalon family blessings

Grid Apocalypse Hits Carolinas: 360 Substations Down, Power Restoration Could Take "Months"

by Tyler Durden
Wednesday, Oct 02, 2024 - 11:05 AM
Rep. Chuck Edwards (R-NC), representing a district in the western portion of the state battered by Hurricane Helene, released a press release Sunday detailing the infrastructure devastation.

Edwards said power outages remain widespread in Western North Carolina as of Sunday. Fast-forward to Wednesday morning, Poweroutage.US data shows more than 400,000 residents are without power in the region.

https://assets.zerohedge.com/s3fs-public/inline-images/2024-10-02_08-26-50.png?itok=DWxksQuU

He explained that 360 power substations "are out," indicating that "many of these substations were completely flooded, and Duke Energy is unable to assess the damage until the flooding has lowered, the water has been pumped out, and the equipment is thoroughly dried."

(an excerpt - more X posts and images at link)

What's piqued our interest is that the powering up America theme to power AI data centers and other electrification trends, such as EVs and onshoring manufacturing (as outlined in "The Next AI Trade"), has led to shortages and price increases in the transformer market.

"Distribution transformers are a bedrock component of our energy infrastructure," National Renewable Energy Laboratory researcher Killian McKenna said, who was recently quoted by PV Magazine.

McKenna pointed out, "But utilities needing to add or replace them are currently facing high prices and long wait times due to supply chain shortages. This has the potential to affect energy accessibility, reliability, affordability—everything."

Other reasons for the transformer shortages besides power grid upgrades include raw material sourcing problems, pandemic-related supply chain woes and backlogs, labor constraints, shipping issues, and geopolitical tensions.

Given all of this, Jesse D. Jenkins, an assistant professor and macro-energy systems engineering and policy expert at Princeton University, responded to the dire situation of a grid apocalypse playing out in the Southeast US:

"This is devastating. We do NOT have 360 substations worth of transformers and other electrical equipment sitting in stockpiles waiting to be deployed. It could take a very long time to restore power to everyone. Are we facing a Hurricane Maria-type impact on grid infrastructure?"

North Carolina: Not Asheville - most of that city's folks lean quite 'blue', I believe.

(makes you wonder who would be cutting tires on supply trucks heading to Asheville at Interstate Rest Areas, assuming those reports are true - chaos agents?)

The rural mountain areas yes, and a lot of those folks may have difficulty voting as power and roads take weeks or more to get functional.

I live in the northeastern mountains of north Georgia, about 10 miles from the NC state line, and we got extremely lucky here. (Blairsville GA)

I got over a foot of rain here and flooding in certain areas, but the major force of this storm past more east of my location.

I do a lot of construction work in the Cashiers/Highlands NC area and was suppose to go there Monday but didn't because they got pretty hammered there. Still waiting to hear from some of my contractors there so I can reschedule finishing a couple of jobs in that area.

I don't ever remember in my nearly 62yrs of being alive ever hearing of a hurricane going so far inland and doing so much damage like this one did. Quite a catastrophe and very devastating for sure!

Biden to Provide US Hurricane Victims Pennies Compared to Proxy Wars

"The US government prioritizes foreign entities over their own citizens. President Joe Biden and his handlers have pledged over $17 BILLION to Ukraine, Taiwan, and Israel in the past week alone. Meanwhile, Joe Biden has already gone on record to tell American hurricane victims that they should not expect any additional resources from the federal government. “We’ve given everything that we have,” Biden unsympathetically said."

I hope it will at least open some eyes...

From WNC Congressman Chuck Edwards email update #5:

(formatting/indentions hosed copying from email - sorry)

Dear ***************,

As we embark on day five post-disaster, I can sense a building anxiety amongst the people of Western North Carolina. We’re all trying to adapt to the new normal - or whatever “normal” is supposed to look like when our entire world gets turned upside down - and it’s been difficult.

Today, I have a simple message for you: Stay calm. Help is here, and it is only a matter of time before our beautiful mountains will return to that state of calm serenity that we are all so used to and familiar with.

While it is true that we have a long road ahead of us, we are in this together and will make it through. Over the next few months and years as we try to rebuild what once was, we have a unique opportunity to mould our mountains into the future we want for our children and grandchildren who will live here after us.

When times are getting tough and it’s hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel, just remember that your community is here for you, your state is here for you, your country is here for you, and I am here for you. Mountain people are strong, and we are resilient.

It will take time, but I truly believe that our mountains will rebuild better than ever before.

Today is update number five, with more information to follow in the coming days. This update is more expansive than ever before, with additional information on debris removal, where to get your prescriptions and where you might be able to find cell service. Please make sure to read everything and share it with your friends and family.

o 288
o 289
• Additionally, operations at the facility below remain suspended:
o Rutherfordton: 130 E. Court St., Rutherfordton, NC 28139

Pharmacy Access

• CVS currently has 16 pharmacies that remain closed, including two locations - 522 S. Main St., Hendersonville, NC and 2351 US 70 Hwy., Swannanoa, NC - are total losses and will not reopen.
• CVS is actively working with USPS to better understand the plan and request mobile post offices in the blacked-out ZIP codes starting with 287, 288 and 289 to ensure mail delivery of medication can take place for customers that rely on it.

o Patients can visit any CVS Pharmacy for assistance with immediate prescription needs.

Power and Gas

• 284,000 customers remain without power in Western North Carolina.
o The number of customers seeing their power turn back on each day is slowing, but that is only because Duke Energy has been conducting significant work to repair and bring back online the 360 substations that were damaged or destroyed by Hurricane Helene.
o So far, 82% of substations have been restored and significant substation work is continuing today.
• Generators, mutual aid crews and additional power restoration assets are being moved into the hardest hit areas as debris removal allows.
• Duke Energy has not changed their anticipated restoration of service date.
o Most customers in Western North Carolina can expect the power to be back on by Friday, October 4.
 WARNING: Customers in areas that are inaccessible, dependent on infrastructure that has been destroyed or are unable to receive service, may see additional delays.
• Thousands of linemen are working day and night to clear debris, reopen roadways and repair major portions of the power grid.
• For more information on Duke Energy’s power restoration efforts, you can review the following links:
o Outage Map: duke-energy.com/outages

Roads

• A “DO NOT DRIVE” message remains in place from the North Carolina Department of Transportation for Western North Carolina.
o Unless it is an emergency, please do not travel.
• Yesterday, NCDOT announced that communication and access issues skewed their ability to collect information on road closures.
o An updated approximate of 400 roads are closed with more than 700 damage sites and over 100 impacted bridges.
o Crews are working both day and night to clear debris and repair roadways.
• Bat Cave and Gerton communities on US 64/74 in Henderson County have been isolated since the beginning of the storm with no access out.
o NCDOT is working to reach them from both Buncombe and Henderson County sides.
• NCDOT has reopened I-40 East at the location of the landslide near Old Fort.
o Individuals evacuating the Asheville area are able to use I-40 East or I-26 East.

Cell Service

• Yesterday was frustrating for many as we saw a severe decrease in cell service compared to previous days.
o Service providers are continuing to deploy additional temporary cell sites to mitigate overwhelming the temporary network in locations where sites have already been deployed.
• SpaceX and local and federal partners have deployed dozens of Starlink dishes to areas in WNC that have lost cell and internet access with more on the way.
o The technology uses orbiting satellites instead of ground-based networks to deliver high-speed broadband in disaster zones.
• A temporary Verizon satellite trailer is located at the Family Justice Center at 35 Woodfin St., offering an opportunity for limited cellular reception within several city blocks of where it is parked.
• T-Mobile has set up satellite cellular on light trucks (SatCOLTs) in Asheville, providing cellular voice and data along with wi-fi and charging stations at the following locations:
o Asheville Middle School
 211 S. French Broad Ave., Asheville, NC 28801
o Dr. Wesley Grant Sr. Southside Community Center
 285 Livingston St., Asheville, NC 28801
• More T-Mobile satellite cell on trucks are also located in Hendersonville and at a Tractor Supply Co. in Asheville, with others planned for Mission Hospital in Asheville, Cherokee County Emergency Operations Center in Murphy, and in Cherokee.

North Carolina National Guard

• Almost 800 North Carolina National Guard soldiers and airmen have been deployed to provide support to Western North Carolina so far.
o Further, more than 275 vehicles, including 88 High-Water Vehicles and 19 Helicopters, have been deployed to western NC.
• Air missions are continuing in support of search and rescue, damage assessments and supply delivery.
o So far, NCNG has:
 Provided 135,000 lbs. of supplies by air transport
 Conducted 60 hoist rescues
 Rescued 422 Western North Carolinians - 42 were critically injured, four were infants and 64 were animals.
• Here are a few key phone numbers from the NCNG:
o HOTLINE: 888-892-1162
o Emergency Management Watch: 919-733-3300
o Donated Goods: 919-825-2474
 These lines have very high call volumes. If you do not get through first try, keep calling.

Asheville Regional Airport

• Asheville Regional Airport closed mid-day on Friday, September 27, due to risk of flooding.
• Commercial flights at Asheville Regional Airport have resumed.
• If you parked your car in an Asheville Regional Airport lot and could not retrieve the vehicle due to the storm, great news - none of the airport’s lots flooded and all cars are fine.
o Stay safe and pick up your car when you are able.

For NC-11 Medical Practices

• If you own a medical practice in NC-11 and are experiencing financial hardship due to Hurricane Helene, the North Carolina Medical Society will be reactivating its Financial Recovery Program (FRP) to help you recover and open your doors again.
o The FRP will be back online to provide much needed assistance soon.
o More information to follow.

For Local Government Resource Requests

• For county leaders: This is a reminder to make sure your Emergency Operation Center has submitted the request for gasoline, food, water, cell service deployables, etc. with North Carolina Emergency Management to have your request processed and resources delivered.
o My office stands ready to assist with checking the status of your request if the county or municipality has not heard back from NC Emergency Management within 24 hours.

For Individual Assistance through FEMA

North Carolina received a Major Disaster Declaration for the following counties: Buncombe, Clay, Haywood, Henderson, Jackson, Macon, Madison, McDowell, Polk, Rutherford, Transylvania and Yancey Counties and the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians.
People with damage to their homes or personal property who live in one of the above-listed counties should apply for Individual Assistance through FEMA, which may include upfront funds to help with essential items like food, water, baby formula and other emergency supplies.
• Funds may also be available to repair storm-related damage to homes and personal property, as well as assistance to find a temporary place to stay.
Individual Assistance provides financial aid and services to eligible individuals and households that have been affected by a disaster to assist with the recovery process. Individuals can officially begin applying for Individual Assistance online at www.DisasterAssistance.gov, or by calling the application phone number at 1-800-621-3362 (TTY: 800-462-7585) between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m. EST.
• To date, more than 10,000 survivors have registered with FEMA for Individual Assistance.

To Connect with a Loved One

Residents trying to connect with family members may call NC 211 (or 1-888-892-1162 if calling from out-of-state) to report missing loved ones or request a welfare check.
Additionally, people in the impacted areas can indicate that they are safe by reporting themselves safe through Red Cross Reunification by calling 1-800-RED-CROSS (1-800-733-2767).
• Please only use 911 for life-threatening emergencies so the lines remain open for critical situations.

I have to rub more salt in the wound.

I went past our donation hamper today, and it's still empty, decommissioned.

Guess what, though? Finally someone "said something" about the hurricane!

Guess what that is?

We're out of milk!

^ *facepalms a knitting needle*

Well. Did we donate that? Or might it be that a few hundred dairies have been swept away??

Disaster of a lifetime in progress -- sorry to "inconvenience" you folks.

These are the same folks that if it's going to snow half an inch, you buy all the milk because you are afraid something like this is going to happen to you. We see it all the time, this big wave of anxiety rolls through the population and they go nuts for a few days and nothing happens. It is just like you cry wolf over and over again, and then when something really does happen, what is shown is only its trivial effect to us.

I don't know or trust beings around me. It dissipates my ability to offer help, I haven't got any resources, all I have is my hands that can take stuff and send it somewhere else.

This evening, from a Peak Prosperity member to me via PM at my site:

Them: I can’t post this online because it’s not quite public yet, but government officials had a town meeting with all of the residents of Chimney Rock and basically told them the town was being bulldozed, bodies and all and the land was being seized by the federal government they would not be able to move back and basically their homes the ones that were standing were no longer theirs and the federal government owned it all. I don’t know what crazy play for land this is, but there’s a lot of conspiracy about lithium mines and let me just tell you, as someone who lives in Charlotte and has friends who live in the area of Western North Carolina, they are not being helped and this is actually being a stand down operation by federal government

Me: What the heck…? That's quite disturbing. Is this first-hand, second-hand, or more distant info?

Them: Our friend owns an Airbnb in Chimney Rock. They had a town meeting yesterday and someone from the federal government told them all of those things in the town meeting, but doesn’t want the information getting out. Also, they are not picking up the bodies. The stench of the bodies everywhere is insane and for some reason, the government does not want to pick up the bodies. One pastor of a local church was going to order to door delivering water and they changed their delivery request to body bags because so many of the homes that they’ve gone to have needed body bags, we’re trying to keep the body count. They’re not picking up the bodies. They don’t wanna identify the bodies and they’re just leaving them to rot in the streets.

Me: I…can't…even. I'm stunned. This is beyond anything I could have imagined even very recently. You always pick up and bury the dead. It's what humans do. They are violating every possible custom … on purpose. Thank you for keeping me informed. People need to know about this. Let me know when you'd be comfortable with me posting to our forums in an anonymized fashion, of course.

Them: You can post it the message needs to get out. Something evil is going on in the NC mountains. I just didn’t want to be identified. Just today we filled up a trailer for a shelter in Hendersonville NC that had no food for tons of moms and babies. All the stores round are empty or locked. In Chandler NC 2000 people haven’t eaten anything or drank in 6 days and just got an SOS message out for help. I’m trying to tag the Cajun navy and operation airdrop but people are dying by the minute.

Multiple tuckers have reported having tires slashed. Our friends from Chimney Rock said they have heard multiple stories of people being robbed at gunpoint making supply runs. Two people that drove down to Charlotte yesterday and today one that we helped said bodies in trees, all over ditches in major roads back. Something weird is going on here in NC.

Me: God bless you. Let me know if I can help.

Them: Someone with a large national megaphone needs to amplify how bad it is. People are now starting to die trapped. My town is Operation Air Drop NC central command. They need pilots with planes and now are asking just for trucks. People with big equipment are needed but more than anything the nation needs to put pressure on Washington to deploy the National Guard asap. The 82nd was begging to go since Saturday but has been told to stand down. Every ****ing Apache we have should be flying rescue missions. Please amplify the message!!!

I was able to get this from The Indy (https://indyweek.com/) in an article about someone with a truck:

On Monday, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) announced it has deployed 200 ambulances and 10 federal search and rescue teams to affected areas. President Biden is expected to travel to the region on Wednesday and Congress and the North Carolina state legislature are likely to pass special disaster relief funding.

Shelter operators that Schaefer-Old has been able to make contact with, in Helene’s aftermath, describe the situation as “dire.”

You have to read it between the lines. Yes, just by implication, "dire" is very much along the lines that more people will expire for more reasons, beginning immediately, and there will be looting and violence. Local articles seem to stick to telling us Asheville is seriously messed up and there have been deaths. This is too big, it's like a free pass for the Grim Reaper with a lot of stuff that's going to be really tough to beat.

I may be able to find if dirt like is said about Chimney Rock is happening. I'm not sure.

While this is true about Gaston County (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gaston_County,_North_Carolina):

Piedmont Lithium is a mining company currently in the process of proving economic mineral recovery of lithium in Gaston County. After five years of surface prospecting, the company began drilling many sample cores in 2021 across 2,300 acres (930 ha) of land it owns or has mineral rights to the county proving economic viability of mining lithium for the boom in battery demand to support electric vehicle and other uses.

It's not in the mountains. It's not heavily damaged.

Biden's White House has used FEMA money (Federal Emergency Management Agency) as a slush fund for illegal immigrants and they are holding back approval of additional funds unless they get more money for Ukraine.

FEMA Money Is for Disaster-Stricken Americans, Not Those Here Illegally

Federal spending is hard enough to keep track of at the best of times, but the Biden administration is highly adept at hiding how they fund their open-borders agenda. In a cynical budget negotiation tactic, the White house is now trying to push through a $40 billion “supplemental” funding bill that holds bailout money for FEMA hostage to sending billions more to Ukraine with insufficient accountability.

It gets worse. If the White House tactic works, and Congress coughs up enough aid to Ukraine that rescue money for FEMA can get through, hundreds of millions of that funding won’t go to disaster-afflicted Americans, but to providing housing, food, health care and transportation for illegal immigrants through grants to activist NGOs and “sanctuary” cities.

FEMA’s Emergency Food and Shelter Program is already being siphoned for over $332 million “to assist communities receiving noncitizens released from custody,” which means housing migrants here illegally at the border, then transporting them to places like New York City. New York has been promised $104 million from this pot, though at a burn rate of $8 million a day, it won’t last long. Big city mayors gripe about a few buses sent by Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, but the main train delivering migrants to their sidewalks is driven by DHS, using FEMA money.

Piedmont Lithium looks like a corporation to watch. My initial thought was it might have ties to the military. Just an FYI, a quick look at piedmontlithium.com includes this info about one Board member:

"Ms. Hickton has served as a member of our Board since March 2024. She currently serves as the Chair and CEO of Cumberland Additive, Inc., a metal additive manufacturer of solutions for the aerospace, defense, energy, and space markets. Ms. Hickton also serves as a member of the National Space Council User’s Advisory Group, which is chaired by the Vice President of the United States to enable and propel America’s space objectives."

Geography:

There are *no* large lakes native to the region.

They are from various projects, one of which being Aluminum, so let's say it's already been raped and ransacked one time rather heavily.

Yes, if you start talking about revolving door corporate/military fascism, that explains a lot about what looks like "development". *Nothing* that I know of is safe to drink/fish from, until you are high enough in the mountains to be above all the main roads.

Comparatively, Lithium is also available at sites in Arkansas, Utah, Nevada, and California.

I would suggest that focusing on some kind of lithium theft due to Helene is superfluous. The whole thing is probably in the hands of a questionable crowd as usual, that's true. The actual market effect would be in terms of Quartz. I don't know any way around that.

In broader terms, I have no idea how much Agriculture has been devastated. I know we have several kinds of fruit, cheese, wine, etc., that are some of the last examples of things produced by relatively small and more environmentally-minded businesses. How do you do apples, once the tree is removed?

There is no way to predict the motion of brake fluid, gasoline, every drug the pharmacy carries, along with the spawn of protozoa and everything associated with decay, which will surely cause a lot of problems for the ground water and soil for a long time. Most of that drains through South Carolina.

In general, I am not a fan of a battery-powered future to begin with.

The town shown in this video is/was the Main Street of Marshall, NC., the county seat of Madison County on the French Broad River.

Science Fiction fans may recognize the bridge to the left as a key scene took place there in the Amazon Prime series based on the book by William Gibson, The Peripheral.

The bar scenes and others were filmed on or near this section of Main Street also.

Much of that series was filmed around Marshall. Well the non-London England parts.

More efforts (https://abc11.com/post/helene-aftermath-wnc-business-owners-organize-donation-drives-western-nc/15376162/) underway:

In Morrisville at the Hindu Society of North Carolina, volunteers like Max Ganorkar are hard at work.

"I grew up in India. Every time there was a natural disaster Americans were always first to open their hearts and wallets," said Ganorkar. "This gives us an opportunity to reach out to them."

This interfaith effort was organized Monday afternoon. They gathered mostly water and some food to send to Marion and Burnsville

"By this morning we had two trailers full and ready to go to the mountains," he said. "When they need us we are here for them."

Logistically if you look at NC211 (https://nc211.org/supply-collections-locations-and-supply-distribution-locations-helene-relief/) you can find dropoff sub-stations occupying an area out to around Burlington and Asheboro.

What we have out here (https://www.wral.com/video/planes-at-sanford-jetport-airdrop-critical-supplies-to-rural-communities-in-western-nc/21655570/):

Over the next few days, pilots from our area will airdrop donations to rural communities in western North Carolina that are cut off because of Helene.

These are private planes, it looks like they may be moving more stuff into the hangar than they can send in one trip. Until further notice, you really need the large volume of trucks, but this airlifting thing sounds like it will be pretty important until we know otherwise.

Nothing in those links shows me how to connect with it. There are several donation and volunteer opportunities, but, they are kind of scattered, nothing around here like I more or less expected to provide personally.

My friend Sissy is near Waynesville. She just sent me an update. It sounds like a scene from The Walking Dead.

“I have never seen anything like this and I hope never to again. I go into town and there are people on utv’s and horses, leading pack mules to take in. National guard is here, equipment everywhere. They were finding bodies on Oakdale Rd yesterday.”

Oakdale Rd comes down a steep side of the mountain, so some of the homes just got totally wiped out from mudslides.

To the relief of some, the Great Smoky Cannabis Co. (https://www.citizen-times.com/story/news/local/2024/10/03/helene-asheville-north-carolina-flooding-live-updates-recovery-thursday/75488721007/) remains open.

For the others less fortunate, from Chimney Rock to Asheville Citizen Times (https://www.citizen-times.com/story/news/2024/10/03/chimney-rock-nc-updates-what-happened-destroyed/75497641007/):

Is the future of Chimney Rock known?

On the village's official Facebook page, one person speculated on the town being bulldozed spurring officials to post about getting information from reliable sources, like the town itself.

"A rumor is not news. Anyone who truly wishes to be supportive of this situation can best help by sticking to information that comes from the municipalities and credible recovery and support sources. The people and businesses are suffering enough without having to take time to tamp down this type of thing. By refraining from sharing unreliable information, you help more than you know," read the Facebook post.

How can I help at Chimney Rock?

Chimney Rock has set up an official donation site through givesendgo.com.

"Hurricane Helene caused major flooding, landslides, and devastation in Chimney Rock Village, NC, resulting in major losses of the town's infrastructure. Your donations will go directly to Chimney Rock Village to support rebuilding efforts. We appreciate your support now and in the upcoming months," read the donation site.

Can I go to Lake Lure, Chimney Rock to volunteer?

Both Lake Lure and Chimney Rock officials ask that traffic to remain local at this time so that emergency crews can continue their relief work effort.

"Although we greatly appreciate all offers to volunteer, Town officials are working to decongest the area to ensure the highest degree of safety in this rescue phase of recovery," read a Oct. 2 press release from the town of Lake Lure.

Here is a heartening report of support efforts for East Tennessee. Describes a donated airlift of donated supplies.

OP is, as the channel name suggests, a guntuber. Name “Mike” is all I found just now while searching for his name. I have watched maybe half of his vids since I found him a year or more ago. Seems to me to be weak in Patience, from the constricted-throat sound of his voice, but this urgent support work shows that that feature can be advantageous.

~19 min vid. In the second half, he relates sad info about the scale of the destruction, and the huge apparent and expected death toll.

The after-event snubbing could be part of a plot to foster a mentally upon the population to kick-off a civil war in the United States. I heard Barack sent Secretary of State Antony Blinken to China (https://apnews.com/article/us-china-blinken-wang-yi-8c1c453df3afbd6ec87ced0c8d618064) to ask for money and they said no. At that point they would need to find other sources of revenue like selling humans to off world customers and handing land over to corporations. I don't recall which hurricane story this came from years ago. Buses would show up and offer to take people to shelters and they were never seen again. There was also a story of concrete coffins in large pits as if they wanted the souls/consciousnesses of the people to power clones or cyborgs off world. UPDATE: Hurricane Helene

Elon Musks own tech guys are saying FEMA is interfering with the delivery of critical supplies…

The Trump team is even doing all they can, but FEMA and FAA is throttling efforts.

Why the hell is the Biden Admin hell bent on maximizing the hardship Hurricane victims are going through?

“Hey Elon, update here on site of Asheville, NC. We have powered up two large operating bases for choppers to deliver goods into hands. We’ve deployed 300+ starlinks and outpour is it has saved many lives.

The big issue is FEMA is actively blocking shipments and seizing goods and services locally and locking them away to state they are their own. It’s very real and scary how much they have taken control to stop people helping. We are blocked now on the shipments of new starlinks coming in until we get an escort from the fire dept. but that may not be enough.”

My fear is that many aren’t following these atrocities because it’s getting worst. What will it take for people to wake-the-bleep-up? Or are they frozen in disbelief?

Has anyone heard of sending foreign aid for the hurricane disaster? Because I find it curious that there is no statement on this subject. Usually, in this type of disaster, no matter where on the planet, volunteers (rescuers or army) or other foreign teams come to help. Or sending money like for Katrina.

Did we tell them no no, stay home, we need nothing? Given that everything seems to be done to prevent the aid and means of arriving, I will not be surprised at all... This is all really horrible.

Moreover, the communication on this subject is very limited, I was even surprised that some colleagues are not aware of it at all!

When you take the 2 lane road from ashville up in the mountains to lake lure you go thru these little towns like chimney rock. The river runs along side of the road as well. SpaceX Engineer In North Carolina Has Dire Warning: Biden-Harris' FEMA "Actively Blocking Shipments" For Relief

A shocking firsthand account from a SpaceX engineer in storm-battered North Carolina reveals that Biden-Harris' Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) blocked shipments of critical goods for relief efforts into the region. There have been numerous reports this week of FEMA actively hindering relief efforts in the western part of the state, including threatening private helicopter pilots with arrests for conducting rescue missions. We also learned that the Biden-Harris administration drained FEMA funds to support illegal aliens, prioritizing non-citizens (future voters) over American citizens.

Around lunchtime, Elon Musk shared a dire message from one of his SpaceX engineers on the ground in the storm-ravaged state. Musk said, "FEMA is not merely failing to adequately help people in trouble, but is actively blocking citizens who try to help!"

Musk shared a dire warning from one of his engineers on the ground:

Americans quickly understood by the end of the week the big theme in Biden-Harris' botched hurricane response efforts, very similar to the dismal response in East Palestine, Ohio, as explained (https://www.zerohedge.com/technology/This horrific natural disaster is a reminder of the extent to which the regime hates the people who live there.) by The Bishop of Mises Institute: "This horrific natural disaster is a reminder of the extent to which the regime hates the people who live there."

Folks were even more shocked when the US Homeland Security secretary warned that FEMA funds were running dry for hurricane disaster funding. This is because the Biden-Harris team diverted $1.4 billion to address the migrant crisis they helped create through open southern border policies.

Prepper All Naturals on the ground

A group of citizen responders from Prepper All Naturals (https://wholecows.com/) - a veteran-owned emergency food company which delivered $60,000 of meat and arranged for sanitary stations - reports that the scene is chaotic and unmanaged by FEMA.

"Things here are far worse than expected, or that is being reported. I won’t go into detail on the deaths. Too gruesome. There will also be more out there, especially in the remote places that will starve or die from disease," said team lead Scotty Clay. "Search and Rescue Team here this morning. The team in our vicinity found 135 dead yesterday. The death toll will be bad. Many were way up high in the trees."

https://assets.zerohedge.com/s3fs-public/inline-images/IMG_1841a.jpg?itok=EexaDpb-

"The damage is unprecedented. Many places look like a nuclear war zone, with more than I could count (e.g., fire station) just totally washed away. Nothing but dirt left."

https://assets.zerohedge.com/s3fs-public/inline-images/IMG_3308.jpeg?itok=YhYwd9sF

Clay continued;
I remember going down to Winne and Beaumont after Rita hit. This is far far worse than that. How can that (hurricane force winds) happen 800 miles inland?

It will be at least six months, and maybe as much as year or more in some places to get power, water, roads, bridges and communications restored.
He also suggested that[B] "it will be at least two years to restore power in many areas."

"In Chimney Rock, NC, there was a meeting this morning with FEMA. They plan to bull doze the entire town, bodies, and all. Some stuck in the trees there as well."

Even before the storm was churning in the Gulf of Mexico, the Biden-Harris administration of far-left radicals weaponized the FCC against Musk and blocked Starlink from a rural federal contract that would've supplied the state with 20,000 terminals (https://www.zerohedge.com/technology/biden-harris-fcc-nuked-20000-starlink-terminals-north-carolina-couldve-saved-lives). If these terminals had been active ahead of the storm and during its early days, they could've saved lives.

Typhoon Krathon (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Typhoon_Krathon)

Typhoon Krathon, known in the Philippines as Super Typhoon Julian, was a powerful and erratic tropical cyclone which impacted Taiwan and the Philippines in late September and early October 2024. Krathon was the first storm to make landfall on Taiwan's densely populated western plains since Typhoon Thelma in 1977.

FEMA FAILURE IN THE SOUTHEAST

I was just alerted by friends in Greenville, SC that there is a massive failure by FEMA to deploy assets to assist those impacted by Hurricane Helene and they are feeling beyond frustrated and angry.

FEMA has 12 MEDVAC EC135 helicopters just sitting there in Greenville.

FEMA has 3 C130 cargo planes just sitting there in Greenville.

FEMA also has fuel tankers, ambulances and other equipment ready to deploy, sitting in Greenville, as seen in the videos attached.

These planes, helicopters & other equipment have been sitting since Sunday and have not doing anything for Americans in need. Our tax dollars not being utilized even though they are appropriated for specific situations of emergency just like this.

What the hell is going on? What exactly is FEMA doing besides promising a measly $750 to those affected by Helene??

$941 million FEMA dollars have been given to illegals and now DHS Secretary Mayorkas is asking for more money for FEMA because there isn’t enough to help Americans?!

What about these resources just sitting in Greenville? Why aren’t they being deployed??

People are dying and in desperate need of help. Fellow Americans aren’t even allowed to help because of red tape & money we’ve already paid in taxes isn’t going to help them either.

The Biden-Harris Administration is MASSIVELY FAILING and it is clear American citizens are NOT a priority.

I have my doubts this catastrophe seals the deal for Trump winning the election. They absolutely don't want him in the Whitehouse again, no matter what.

This storm may just be the first of a series of catastrophic events. I don't want to sound like a doomsday conspiracy theorist, but, something is way wrong with many things right now all over the place. This whole storm event being just one of the many things wrong. It wouldn't surprise me one bit if this hurricane was manipulated, enhanced, and steered by some sort of high tech weather weapon. It almost seems and feels "unnatural" to me.

What's next? Are these demonic freaks going to trigger the Madrid Fault as a knock out punch to the southeast and Trump country to "seal the deal" for Kamala? Another big disaster would surly either stop the election or atleast give the left enough cover to cheat like hell and make Kamala "appear" to many as though she won.

Nothing would surprise me any more as I sit and watch our collective perception of reality fracture into something unexplainable and rather demonic.

Has anyone heard from Avalon member Acturian? I spoke to her by phone several times a year back. I tried her phone of recent with no success.

She lives in Asheville N C and I heard that area was hit bad. Has she posted anywhere since the storm?Yes, Arcturian108 (https://projectavalon.net/forum4/member.php?27908-Arcturian108) (Ruth) logged into the forum yesterday afternoon, and visited several threads for just a few minutes, including this one.

(She's not posted anything since 30 Sept, but that might be because her internet or cellphone access is very limited.)

Folks,
Thanks for thinking about me. I am about an hour southwest of where the total devastation starts. Our area got 12 inches of rain, while the Asheville area got 24 inches. The hurricane stalled over Asheville. My area had power loss for 30 hours, but we personally had a backup generator, and Starlink internet, so we didn't notice that the storm was so bad, even though the Little Tennessee River flooded on our property. If we didn't hear the news we wouldn't know about how much worse things were north of here.
Hearing the stories about how private help is being thwarted is sickening. Again it feels like a land grab for mining the lithium and the quartz crystal underground near Asheville. I have called the office of our Congressman for this area, Rep. Chuck Edwards, and the person who answered the phone had not yet heard about the lithium mine. At least that's what he told me.

Gripping Tragedy in the Wake of Helene

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wOJvrghIfZk
Edit to add:

It's a recorded cellphone interview with a NC resident on the scene. My guess is that this was conducted yesterday, 6 days after the storm hit. There are no videos or photos of the devastation. It's just a personal account. Cody, the person Chris Martenson is talking to, is clearly very capable but is evidently still shocked, his voice sometimes trembling.

Cody's experience, harrowing that it was and still is, pales in comparison with the accounts that have been reported by some others. One has to suspect that there are many, many terrible stories which have not yet come to public attention.

This was posted 2 hours ago by Chris Martenson. I've NOT watched this yet, but I'd bet everything I own that (a) it's going to be a damning indictment of the US government (in an earlier short video Martenson said that evil was at play here), and (b) the details of the catastrophe he presents on may be graphic, upsetting and disturbing. Expect him to be as angry as he's ever been :flower:

Gripping Tragedy in the Wake of Helene

I saw a video where a gentleman walked to Chimney rock and talked with people. It was a little reassuring to me. I send my constant gratitude to be a human. We who can rise to the occasions of life with great love.

Thank you all for your posts and for keeping us updated. It truly is Maui and Paradise on steroids. I'm sorry, but we're under attack. Wtf is going on? These 666 agencies are at war with all remaining humans on this planet (sorry, but it's become painfully obvious that some are no longer human).Off-topic here, but I have to agree. Something has changed in the corridors of power in the western world over the last several decades, and the change is accelerating. These people hate humans and feel contempt and loathing for ordinary citizens, and are hell-bent on destroying both a large swathe of the human race and also its civilization.

I think many people sense this now, but still find it hard to (a) believe and come to terms with, and (b) discuss what this means with any kind of clarity.

My strongest personal guess is that Planet Earth is now a battleground in a non-kinetic, asymmetric war between different groups of non-human entities, some of which are on our side while others are not. The real problem is that this is so extreme and hard to grasp that it's almost impossible to talk about.

Here is what I have gathered from people we know.

$8 million of FEMA money = voted away by Florida legislature.

Drone operator going in for recon/rescue: get out.

Box truck full of supplies: get out.

Firefighters/trained responders: stay out.

There is, I suppose, some strange form of "approval" going on, if for instance Cajun Navy is allowed to work, and others are barred.

That means there is something to figure out, but it is not Lithium and it is not Chimney Rock, although other people I know of *do* post things like this, it's just to get your reaction. It's not the government, it's some kid.

I don't have the details to say about whether it was FEMA who turned those people away, or exactly what happened. The one with the truck lives kind of far from here and appears to represent a "boundary" where there is at least a "reaction" and then out here what I see is "no reaction". I was told they're hiding it in the churches. That is far from obvious.

I saw our donation hamper back to work, and was told the Food Bank "could decide" to donate it. Here's how that works. If you buy that donation, it goes in the hamper. If you don't, it goes in the hamper. Folks, I bet I could get that thing filled in about three hours, and I could even get a truck which someone will voluntarily drive to the mountains, and you see where we stand.

I'm not very comfortable with it.

I had friends from Marshall, Burnsville, and all these unheard-of little places, not that I've kept up with, but in the sense that this has a personal feeling like a dagger, unlike 9/11, which just felt wrong. I guess this is not a job for missiles and bombs so why expect anything of the United States. And it is mega-creepy that there is some kind of barrier so that I see or hear nothing that even resembles the least lick of sympathy. As if they don't even know it happened.

Keri Smith, one of the brightest minds around, who escaped the "Social Justice" cult a few years ago, scribed this via X (https://x.com/RealKeriSmith/status/1842434712070979922). In my estimation it's a cracker and could live on any one of a half dozen threads here :sun:

"The government is like the mob, except they don’t bother to show up to help when you need them, like they promised they would when they demanded your protection payment - I mean taxes - under threat of force and violence. At least the real mob would protect you like they said they would.

These guys are supposed to protect our borders (complete dereliction of duty) and provide assistance during emergencies like hurricanes (fat chance). But they’re sending our tax dollars to foreign wars ($175 Billion to Ukraine alone, and counting) and pillaging FEMA for $1.4 Billion to for imported voters - I mean illegal aliens.

Some racket."

Video of colonel Douglas McGregor :

“Our good countrymen and women are being left to fend for themselves while the government bends over backward for illegal immigrants, criminal gang members, foreign governments, and — of course — lines the pockets of warmongers!”

As families in North Carolina suffer without food, water, or electricity, Macgregor laid out the harsh reality: “Fort Bragg, now renamed Fort Liberty, is only 300 miles from Asheville, North Carolina, where thousands of Americans are coping with washed-out roads and bridges, power outages, and a desperate need for clean water.”

Yet, he pointed out, not a single army helicopter has been sent to rescue them. Why? Because those aircraft are busy overseas, leaving Americans in the dust.

“Too many Americans have been left behind by a negligent federal government for too long,” Macgregor declared. His message to Washington is loud and clear: prioritize Americans NOW.

I am receiving daily updates from our Congressman, Chuck Edwards. Yesterday's update on 10/4 was quite informative, so I copied half of it to show everybody more details of what is going on in this area of Western North Carolina. Asheville is in Buncombe County, but many other counties also had serious damage:

"Over the last week, I have focused my efforts on securing critical resources for Western North Carolina. The Ingles Distribution Center is officially back online following my office’s work to get them a temporary generator, internet connection, and a clean-up crew to make way for tractor trailers delivering and disbursing product. Ingles estimates they are now five to six days ahead of where they otherwise would’ve been without the important resources I listed above. This distribution center is responsible for filling grocery stores across the entire 11th congressional district.

Directly after the storm hit, I was hearing from county after county that FEMA and the state were not filling their food and water needs quick enough and there was barely any cell service. After trying to work through FEMA and NC Emergency Management with little luck, I demanded the White House immediately get three pallets of water and two pallets of meals, ready to eat (MREs) delivered to each of our seven, hardest hit counties, and 20 pallets of MREs and 20 pallets of water for Buncombe County to hold them over until state resources were finally delivered.

All 75 pallets were delivered same day. I also demanded temporary cell tower assets be deployed to the six counties with the worst-off communication systems. All six locations also received at least one temporary cell service asset same day with some counties, like Haywood County, seeing more than one asset deployed after my request.

I’ve delivered seven box trucks to Buncombe County to disburse resources from their central distribution center, secured an FAA operator to help regulate air traffic at Rutherford County Airport, helped the Murphy Fire Department get their assignment number through NC Emergency Management so they could deploy to Henderson County, delivered dozens of truckloads worth of food and water amongst our hardest hit counties, expedited county requests for critical assets, and more. I will continue to support our community in any way that I can.

We have made it one week by putting one foot in front of the other and working as a team. That is how we will make it through week two, week three and every week thereafter. Disasters like this are once in a lifetime for most people (or once in 1,000 years for Western NC). We are all operating in unknown territory, but together we will chart a resilient and stronger future for our mountains.

Today is update number seven, with more information to follow in the coming days. Please make sure to read everything and share it with your friends and family.

Rep. Matt Gaetz
@RepMattGaetz

BREAKING: Numerous whistleblowers came forward to my office this week to sound the alarm on FEMA’s severe mismanagement issues, which have left first responders on the ground to assist with Hurricane Helene recovery efforts without deployment orders.

For context, @FEMA redirected $1.4 BILLION of taxpayer funds over the past two years to illegal aliens due to Border Czar Kamala Harris’ open-border policies.

@SecMayorkas now says the agency doesn’t “have enough funds” for hurricane season.

Today, I sent a letter to Mayorkas demanding answers on whether FEMA misappropriated taxpayer funds in the Disaster Relief Fund to be used on non-disaster-relief programs for illegal aliens.

The MSM are celebrating that rural America is suffering from a natural disaster, because it benefits them in the election.

The Biden regime have no interest in supplying aid to Americans, because they are hoping more Trump supporters die.

Just received this DM from a woman whose husband has been in Asheville all week on storm duty.

There must be so many dead bodies. She said Lake Lure has been closed off because search and rescue teams are DREDGING FOR BODIES.

Even in the midst of chaos, she said OSHA fined a fire department for “capacity violations”…

This is absurd. How does OSHA have time to behave like a bunch of soulless freaks when people are dying??

This is so awful.

Everywhere in western governments now, it’s obvious there is a common denominator - zionist ‘funding’. WAKE UP!!! All disasters, warmongering, bankstering, vile political manipulations are resourced by zionists/globalists. I am so tired that the media cannot even help us as they are all bought and paid for, as is our justice systems, this is pure EVIL.

FW: Hurricane Helene update #7 from Congressman Edwards

(I highlighted some things significant for us, but did not have time to add all the links at this point)

Dear xxxxxxxxx
One whole week. It has been one week, seven days, since Hurricane Helene struck and our communities were turned upside down.

This last week has been trying for everyone involved. More than 1,000 Western North Carolinians have been dislocated to an emergency shelter, as of Thursday evening 107 friends and family members have passed away, and hundreds are still missing. Communities like Chimney Rock have been absolutely decimated and many of our Main Streets don’t look the same. To say the post-hurricane environment has been apocalyptic is an understatement.

Nonetheless, we must persist.

Over the last week, I have focused my efforts on securing critical resources for Western North Carolina. Power and Gas
• 201,000 customers remain without power in Western North Carolina.
o Duke Energy is on track to restore an additional 27,000 customers by Friday evening, October 4
 By Friday evening, 90 percent of all outages will have been restored.
 The remaining 10 percent of outages are in the hardest-hit areas of Western North Carolina.
 Another 69,000 are on track to be restored in the hardest-hit areas by Sunday, October 6.
o In the areas where catastrophic damage exists, 105,000 customers are without power.
 Duke Energy is working closely with the state on plans to address these areas as quickly as possible.
o The number of customers seeing their power turn back on each day is slowing, but that is only because Duke Energy has been conducting significant work to repair and bring back online the 360 substations that were damaged or destroyed by Hurricane Helene.
 The substations are the backbone of our energy grid.
 Once restored, service for private homeowners and businesses will rapidly begin to come back online.
o So far, 95 percent of substations have been restored and significant substation work is continuing today.
o Power for the Greenwood Rock Quarry has been restored.
 Restoration of the quarry’s power will help NCDOT to address gravel needs for road repairs.
o For more information on Duke Energy’s power restoration efforts, you can review the following links:

Roads
• A “DO NOT DRIVE” message remains in place from the North Carolina Department of Transportation for most of Western North Carolina.
o Unless it is an emergency, please do not travel to the hardest hit communities.
o Cherokee, Graham, Clay and Swain counties ARE FULLY OPEN to people who can access them through safe routes.
 Please Note: Clay County is a new addition to the list of fully open counties in Western NC.
 Don’t forget that Western NC’s economy relies on tourism, so another way to assist with hurricane relief is by visiting the North Carolina mountains, where it is safe to do so.
 Please DO NOT try to visit or travel through the areas hardest hit by the storm such as Henderson and Buncombe counties.
• NCDOT has now reopened more than 130 roads.
o NCDOT has reopened:
 NC 16 between Catawba and Alexander counties
 NC 226 between McDowell and Mitchell counties
 NC 105 in Watauga and Avery counties
 I-40 East near Old Fort
o NCDOT is making progress on:
 NC 9 between Buncombe and Henderson counties, along with multiple other major routes in NC-11
o In addition to repair and debris removal efforts, NCDOT has provided support and helped coordinate relief efforts for many agencies near or in storm-impacted areas.
 As of Thursday, October 3, there has successfully been:
 338 evacuation trips
 1,537 people transported to safety
 523 trips to shelters
 2,076 people transported to the shelters
 All 14 of NCDOT’s Highway Divisions are now helping respond to Hurricane Helene.
 About 1,600 employees from across the state are working both day and night to clear debris and repair roadways.
• The National Park Service has reopened US 441/Newfound Gap Rd. to allow for access between Tennessee and North Carolina communities.
o Kuwohi Rd. (formerly Clingmans Dome Rd.) has also reopened.
• Bat Cave and Gerton communities on US 64/74 in Henderson County were isolated with no access out until October 2.
o Yesterday, NCDOT was able to open access into the Bat Cave/Gerton area.
o Food drops are currently being conducted on a clothesline across the river in Gerton.
• NCDOT has launched a detour map to show motorists how to get around closures on I-26 and I-40 at the Tennessee border.
o You can access the map here.
Cell Service
• Cell service restoration is continuing to see significant improvements.
o The total number of deployable assets in NC-11 are continuing to increase, reaching more than 70 assets that are on-air or en route amongst service providers in our hardest hit communities.
o The total number of cell sites that are down has steadily decreased since October 1.
• Cell service providers have implemented disaster roaming for any phone located in Western North Carolina to maximize phone service for all users.
o Disaster roaming allows users to connect to any mobile network during a disaster when other networks are down.
 This allows users to access emergency services, such as 911, even when their own network is out.
o If you have service one moment, but experience a reduction in service the next, try restarting your phone to jumpstart disaster roaming again.
• AT&T has deployed its Mobile Connectivity Center to the following location:
o Sam’s Club: 645 Patton Ave., Asheville, NC 28806
 The Mobile Connectivity Center is an air-conditioned mobile unit open to the public, equipped with laptops, charging stations and wi-fi.
 The public can use the center for various needs including contacting your insurance company, filling out paperwork or connecting with loved ones.
 AT&T has also donated $100,000 to the North Carolina Disaster Relief Fund to support Western North Carolinians impacted by Hurricane Helene.
• A temporary Verizon satellite trailer is located at the Family Justice Center at 35 Woodfin St., offering an opportunity for limited cellular reception within several city blocks of where it is parked.
• T-Mobile has set up satellite cellular on light trucks (SatCOLTs) in Asheville, providing cellular voice and data along with wi-fi and charging stations at the following locations:
o Asheville Middle School
 211 S. French Broad Ave., Asheville, NC 28801
o Dr. Wesley Grant Sr. Southside Community Center
 285 Livingston St., Asheville, NC 28801
• Additional T-Mobile satellite cell on trucks are located in Hendersonville and at a Tractor Supply Co. in Asheville, with others planned for Mission Hospital in Asheville, Cherokee County Emergency Operations Center in Murphy, and in Cherokee.
North Carolina National Guard & Department of Defense
• More than 1,100 North Carolina National Guard soldiers and airmen have been deployed to provide support to Western North Carolina so far.
o The total number of deployed guardsmen will continue to increase over the coming days.
• Further, more than 400 vehicles, including 90 high-water vehicles, and 19 helicopters have been deployed to Western NC.
o Georgia, Virginia, Kentucky and South Carolina have all sent helicopters to assist with aerial initiatives in NC-11.
• As of the afternoon of October 3, the National Guard has:
o Rescued more than 1,000 Western North Carolinians, including almost 200 by hoist, and 150 animals.
o Delivered nearly 1 million lbs. of resources to impacted communities.
• The National Guard is continuing C-17 transport of supplies to Asheville.
• Although airspace is limited due to ongoing missions by the National Guard and Department of Defense, a process has been established for private pilots seeking to fly in humanitarian relief to coordinate with local authorities.
o If you are looking to fly in resources and don’t know where to turn, call my office and we will get you in contact with the right coordinators.
• On October 2, the Secretary of Defense authorized the movement of up to 1,000 active-duty soldiers, including soldiers from the 82nd Airborne Division from Ft. Liberty (formerly Ft. Bragg).
o These soldiers have arrived in Western North Carolina and are supporting the delivery of food, water and other critical aid to communities impacted by Hurricane Helene.
o The Department of Defense has also committed 22 helicopters to assist with search and rescue operations.
 Seven CH-47 Chinook helicopters from Ft. Liberty have already been flying resupply missions for the past two days.
• Here are a few key phone numbers from the NCNG:
o HOTLINE: 888-892-1162
o Emergency management watch: 919-733-3300
o Donated goods: 919-825-2474
 These lines have very high call volumes. If you do not get through the first try, keep calling.
• PLEASE NOTE:
o No general aviation pilots are allowed to land at Asheville Regional Airport without prior clearance from FEMA to ensure the safety of aircraft and personnel.
SNAP and Child Nutrition Benefits Flexibility
• The U.S. Department of Agriculture Food and Nutrition Service has approved Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and Child Nutrition (CN) program flexibilities due to the impacts of Hurricane Helene.
o SNAP
 North Carolina was granted a waiver for the 10-day reporting requirement for the replacement of food purchased with SNAP benefits lost because of the hurricane.
 This waiver provides additional time beyond the standard 10-day time frame for households to report food losses and receive replacement benefits for food that was destroyed and previously purchased with SNAP benefits.
o Child Nutrition
 The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction was approved for a waiver pertaining to the child nutrition programs.
 Under the waiver approval, NCDPI’s local program operators may:
 Serve meals in a non-congregate setting
 Adjust the time of meal service
 Allow parent pick-up
 Allow service of meals at school sites
For NC-11 Medical Providers
• If you own a medical practice in NC-11 and are experiencing financial hardship due to Hurricane Helene, the North Carolina Medical Society will be reactivating its Financial Recovery Program (FRP) to help you recover and open your doors again.
o The FRP will be back online to provide much needed assistance soon.
o More information to follow.
• The Department of Health and Human Services through the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has made available:
o Accelerated payments to Medicare Part A providers affected by Hurricane Helene
o Advance payments to Medicare Part B suppliers affected by Hurricane Helene
Individuals can officially begin applying for Individual Assistance online at www.DisasterAssistance.gov, or by calling the application phone number at 1-800-621-3362 (TTY: 800-462-7585) between 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. EST.

o Please only use 911 for life-threatening emergencies so the lines remain open for critical situations.
• If you are still trying to locate a friend or family member, please complete this form to notify local officials of their missing status.
o The form was created by Buncombe County but information is being shared amongst all counties.
o Regardless of which county your loved one was last known to be in, you can still submit the form.
 Buncombe County will share the information with the appropriate officials to initiate search and rescue efforts.

He's saying there's no loads going anywhere near Asheville, NC.

sqauk (https://sqauk.com/conspiracy-trucker-shocked-to-find-no-loads-at-all-are-scheduled-to-go-within-125-miles-of-ashville-nc/)

(SQAUK) — A truck driver and YouTuber who goes by the handle of Baby Lion Hotshot says that no loads are on the board and that none are scheduled to go within 125 miles of Ashville, North Carolina, raising many questions.

This is profoundly concerning following reports out of the region, which confirm that many people and animals still need help after biblical-level flooding ravaged several states.

I am starting to suspect that not all of these reports are accurate, and some may even be disinfo to arouse anger and dispair in folks.

update: watched above video and not claiming that one falls in this category.

Concerning this claim, I have yet to see any evidence put forth to justify believing Trump has anything to do with this il Donaldo Trumpo parody account.

Ok, asked if he is 'PapiTrumpo, he grins and says "Yeah - I think so"

(I had missed this post apparently, so thanks for bringing it to my attention.)

Following the RAW-quoted philosophy in my sig, this is not sufficient to 'convince' me, as yet.

But it did move my suspicions in that direction. :)

And it would be the sort of thing that Q+ and his support team might manage.

A major issue they're dealing with is an inability to pay for supplies because their cards don't work without a network. People are stealing things they need for survival. It was suggested not to give canned goods that requires a can opener because have one. Also, items that'll raise hopes like stuffed animals. This reminds me of gang stalking tactics where the first move is to isolate the targets. It's now being done on a biblical scale.

I can understand that pallets of MREs take precedence over outside random donations.

You can read the situation by the CVS openings at 8/24 locations. You find two thoroughly destroyed. We can be fairly assured that whatever was close to a river is not salvageable. Some areas that are higher up are basically unaffected. The random sprawling danger is from the landslides, which we understand is very destructive, and then from the trees, which are partially destructive. So you probably have quite a few of the CVS stores hit by trees or other debris that can be repaired. Trees and mud can be cleared from roads rather quickly, so, there should be a lot of quick re-openings, minus the permanent damages. Around Asheville, you can probably start to use a lot of back roads that are just inconvenient and a lot longer than the main routes going through long places. But then out on route 9 there is no other way, and places like that will be stuck.

I am glad to get a report on some functionality bounding back.

Hopefully it will stabilize and streamline so those of us from the hinterlands are able to respond effectively.

Sadly this doesn't surprise me as I'm sure many feel the same as I do.

This is just another action done by design. Treat the loyal Americans like garbage and make enemies out of them and pamper the illegal migrants to gain their support and loyalty.

This is all reaching a boiling point, a breaking point. If all hell was to break out in the Carolina's etc over this with the locals rising up with arms I would bet money that the evil leftists will arm the 10's of thousands of young male cut-throat illegal immigrants that have nothing better to do to go into these areas and massacre everyone and call it "policing domestic terrorism".

A report from Jonathan Howard. He's a member of the Florida state guard special missions unit and says he's also working with aerial recovery and non-profit.

He's there to fly helicopters and save lives in communities that can only be reached by helicopters. The problem is 'they' are not letting many fliers there actually fly.
