rgray222
22nd November 2024, 00:53
Since winning the election, President-elect Donald Trump has begun evaluating and rolling out picks for his Cabinet and other key positions. Even though he is moving at lightning speed some of his selections will certainly be caught up in (real, fake or perceived) scandal. The process is going to take many months if not a full year and the opposition party (Democrats) are not going to make it easy. There will be many fits and starts and we can expect to see some extraordinary drama as we move through the process.

The promise of change and the excitement of his second term is caught up and reflected in these selections. All of Trump’s Cabinet choices must be confirmed by the Senate, with the process set to begin in January

Who is Susie Wiles, the "ice maiden" who will be Trump's chief of staff?

https://media.cnn.com/api/v1/images/stellar/prod/220808173053-susie-wiles-file-restricted-101916.jpg?c=original

WASHINGTON, Nov 7 (Reuters) - Republican President-elect Donald Trump named campaign chief Susie Wiles as his White House chief of staff on Thursday.
It was his first appointment since winning Tuesday's election against Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris. Here are some key facts about Wiles, who is set to run day-to-day operations at the White House:

DISCIPLINED OPERATION
Wiles, a longtime Republican strategist, is widely credited - along with co-campaign manager Chris LaCivita - with running the most disciplined and sophisticated of Trump's three presidential campaigns.
She did not always succeed at stopping Trump from going off-script, but she kept damaging media leaks to a relative minimum, launched a bold and successful strategy to win over some Latino and Black voters and led the former president to a decisive win.

PARTY ESTABLISHMENT
Wiles got her start working for Republican President Ronald Reagan's successful 1980 campaign. For years, she worked with some moderate Republicans who promoted dramatically different policies than those of Trump.
Early in her career, she worked for Republican U.S. representatives Jack Kemp, an ardent advocate of free trade, and Tillie Fowler, who was widely considered a moderate on several issues, including gun control.
She also served briefly as the manager of former Utah Governor Jon Huntsman Jr.'s 2012 presidential campaign. Huntsman was arguably the most moderate Republican in the field that year. He sharply criticized Trump after the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol by Trump's supporters.

WORKING FOR THE ENEMY
Later in her career, Wiles started working for more combative party figures, some of whom would become Trump allies, including U.S. Senator Rick Scott of Florida.
Notably, she was a key figure in Ron DeSantis' successful 2018 Florida gubernatorial campaign. She was dismissed by DeSantis after he took office.
When Trump and DeSantis squared off in the Republican presidential primary, she presided over an aggressive and successful strategy to portray her old boss as personally off-putting and out of touch on some key policy issues.

"ICE MAIDEN"
While Wiles is personally friendly, she is relatively little-known and enigmatic for a political strategist of her stature. She rarely gives televised interviews and avoids speaking engagements. Like many successful campaign managers, she can be ruthless when merited.
Her personality contrasted with that of LaCivita, who was notably garrulous and outspoken.
During his victory speech, Trump referred to Wiles as the "ice maiden."

PROMINENT FAMILY
Wiles is the daughter of Pat Summerall, who was a prominent football player and sportscaster. Summerall played in the National Football League for a decade and later announced 16 Super Bowls. He died in 2013.

Trump To Nominate Scott Bessent as Treasury Secretary, a Former Soros Investment Advisor

President-elect Trump will nominate Scott Bessent to serve as Treasury Department secretary once he returns to the White House in January. Bessent, the founder and CEO of global macro investment firm Key Square Group, was a key economic policy adviser and fundraiser for the Trump campaign.

Having spent decades working alongside Soros—a prominent megadonor to Democratic causes—Bessent's evolution into a key supporter of President-elect Donald Trump marks a striking political shift. Once a reliable donor to Democratic campaigns, Bessent's contributions shifted rightward after he left Soros's firm.

Bessent's relationship with Soros (https://www.newsweek.com/scott-bessent-connection-george-soros-trump-treasury-secretary-1984669) began in the early 1980s when he joined Soros Fund Management after graduating from Yale University. Known for his sharp analytical skills and strategic thinking, Bessent quickly advanced, becoming an influential part of Soros's team in London.
He then played a pivotal role in the "Black Wednesday" (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Wednesday) trade of 1992, when Soros famously "broke the Bank of England" by betting against the British pound. This trade earned Soros's team over $1 billion and solidified Soros's reputation as a formidable figure in global finance.
Elon Musk advised against Bessent's nomination saying he would be business as usual.
Scott Bessent, the pro-tariff Wall Street veteran will become perhaps the most prominent voice shaping the Trump economy, with Bessent earning Trump’s nomination amid a high-profile power struggle for the post.
A South Carolina native and 1984 graduate of Yale University, the 62-year-old Bessent is the founder of the hedge fund Key Square Management, which had less than $600 million in assets under management as of the end of 2023.
Bessent, who lives primarily in Charleston, S.C., with his husband John Freeman and their two children, according to the Wall Street Journal, could be the first Senate-approved LGBTQ+ member in a Republican cabinet.
Bessent also has called for Trump to appoint the next Federal Reserve chairman next year, a year before the expiration of Fed chief Jerome Powell’s term.

Trump picks former Florida Rep. Dr. Dave Weldon as Director of Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)

https://a57.foxnews.com/static.foxnews.com/foxnews.com/content/uploads/2024/11/720/405/gettyimages-74887883.jpg?ve=1&tl=1

Trump said Dr. Weldon would restore transparency within the agency

President-elect Trump announced that former Rep. Dr. Dave Weldon, R-Fla., is his pick as the director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

"In addition to being a Medical Doctor for 40 years, and an Army Veteran, Dave has been a respected conservative leader on fiscal and social issues, and served on the Labor/HHS Appropriations Subcommittee, working for Accountability on HHS and CDC Policy and Budgeting," Trump said in the Friday evening announcement.

"Dave also served in a leading role in Government Oversight and Reform Committee Hearings, addressing issues within HHS and CDC. Dave has successfully worked with the CDC to enact a ban on patents for human embryos," Trump said.

Trump said that Dr. Weldon will play a key part in "Making America Healthy Again," saying that he will work on correcting "past errors."

"Americans have lost trust in the CDC and in our Federal Health Authorities, who have engaged in censorship, data manipulation, and misinformation," he said.

Trump taps a Fox News personality, a surgeon and a former Congressman to lead public health agencies

Dr. Makary strongly believes in natural immunity and resolutely opposes vaccination mandates and other public health measures.

https://nypost.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2024/11/dr-marty-makary-speaks-screening-94152875_7248b2.jpg?resize=1024,683&quality=75&strip=all

WASHINGTON (AP) — President-elect Donald Trump on Friday nominated Dr. Marty Makary to lead the Food and Drug Administration, selecting a surgeon and author who gained national attention for opposing vaccine mandates and some other public health measures during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Makary, a professor at Johns Hopkins University, is the latest in a string of Trump nominees who have declared the U.S. health system “broken,” vowing a shakeup. As part of a flurry of nominations late Friday night, Trump also tapped doctor and former Republican Rep. Dave Weldon of Florida to lead the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Fox News contributor Janette Nesheiwat, meanwhile, is set to be the nation’s next surgeon general.

Some of Makary’s views align closely with the man who is poised to be his boss — prominent environmental lawyer and anti-vaccine organizer Robert F. Kennedy Jr., whom Trump put forward as the next U.S. Department of Health and Human Services secretary.

In books and articles, Makary has decried the overprescribing of drugs, the use of pesticides on foods and the undue influence of pharmaceutical and insurance companies over doctors and government regulators, points that Kennedy has also harped on for years.

Trump Nominates Pro-Mask Dr. Janette Nesheiwat for Surgeon General

Dr. Nesheiwat is (or at least was) pro-mask during the pandemic and called the COVID vaccines “a gift from God.”

https://www.politico.com/dims4/default/5ee25bd/2147483647/strip/true/crop/1160x773+0+0/resize/630x420!/quality/90/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fstatic.politico.com%2F55%2Fce%2F809516904e41b4b9d8ba3d2dfe19%2Fgettyimages-1798811547.jpg

But Dr. Nesheiwat has an impressive medical history:

U.S. President-elect Donald Trump on Friday chose family medicine doctor and Fox News contributor Janette Nesheiwat to be surgeon general, again showing preference for a television personality as the face of his incoming administration.

"Dr. Nesheiwat is a fierce advocate and strong communicator for preventive medicine and public health," Trump said in a statement. "She is committed to ensuring that Americans have access to affordable, quality healthcare, and believes in empowering individuals to take charge of their health to live longer, healthier lives."

She treated patients during the COVID-19 pandemic, tended to victims of Hurricane Katrina and the Joplin tornadoes, and has worked for the Samaritan's Purse disaster relief organization providing care in Morocco, Haiti and Poland, Trump said.

Many Americans will know her as a Fox News contributor who has discussed issues such as the mpox strain, the effects of alcohol and drug use, or natural disaster relief. As of Trump's announcement, she was no longer a Fox News contributor, a spokesperson for the cable network said.

Trump has plucked a number of presidential appointments from Fox News programs, both in his first term from 2017 to 2021 and since being elected again on Nov. 5.
Communication skills are important to the job's role as health educator, providing information on how to improve health and lower the risk of illness.

“Dr. Nesheiwat will play a pivotal role in MAKING AMERICA HEALTHY AGAIN!” Trump said in the release.

Trump nominated Scott Turner (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scott_Turner_(politician)) as the secretary of the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Turner, who is chair of the Center for Education Opportunity and is a former professional football player, previously served as executive director of the White House Opportunity and Revitalization Council (WHORC).

"Scott is an NFL Veteran, who, during my First Term, served as the First Executive Director of the White House Opportunity and Revitalization Council (WHORC), helping to lead an Unprecedented Effort that Transformed our Country’s most distressed communities," Trump said in a Friday statement. "Those efforts, working together with former HUD Secretary, Ben Carson, were maximized by Scott’s guidance in overseeing 16 Federal Agencies which implemented more than 200 policy actions furthering Economic Development. Under Scott’s leadership, Opportunity Zones received over $50 Billion Dollars in Private Investment!"

Turner, a former Texas state lawmaker, played nine seasons in the NFL as a member of the Washington Redskins, San Diego Chargers and the Denver Broncos.

John, I am not surprised that Matt Gaetz removed himself from consideration. I wonder if this was Trump's way of intentionally trolling the Democrats without any desire to appoint him Attorney General. Of all the cabinet positions the Attorney General is the one that is supposedly "independent" from the President. Nobody in their right mind actually believes that but most Americans "want" to believe that it is true.

Biden and Garland played the game well. Everyone knows that Garland would never have levelled all the charges against Trump without Biden's approval. Biden and Garland hid behind the cloak of independence and this allowed them to say the Trump indictments were not political. Everybody also knows that Matt Gaetz is a very political animal and Trump and Gaetz would never get away with this false pretence of independence. On the other hand, Pam Bondi and Trump will be able to successfully pretend that the Attorney General decides which criminals to prosecute without discussion from the White House.

Susan Collins can't see the future, she reflects her selfish wants and desires in her governance. This is a very narcissistic way of going about your job. I am quite sure that no amount of discussion or debate would ever allow her to change her mind.

How can you be surprised or not if it was already well explained in the video of Owen Shroyer (https://rumble.com/v5rtcgb-owen-shroyer-the-truth-about-matt-gaetzs-withdrawal-from-ag-nomination.html)? Did you not watch it? ... But I also see the possible trolling factor too :)

Yes, I watched the video and I think that Shroyer is way off the mark. Gaetz was nothing more than a trial balloon to accomplish two important objectives. Trump was very intentionally poking Democrats in the eye, I would say mission accomplished. Secondly and more importantly it was to see exactly where and how deep the opposition was going to be for all the candidates when the hearings take place in the Senate in January. I would say mission accomplished.

It is not too difficult to understand that Gaetz was nothing more than a false flag, it took Trump less than 6 hours to name his successor.

If you watch this short CNN video (https://www.cnn.com/2024/11/22/politics/video/pam-bondi-attorney-general-doj-trump-digvid) you will see why Pam Bondi makes so much sense for Trump.

Senators Signal Trump Nominees Gabbard, Hegseth Will Face Grilling In Congress

Authored by Jack Phillips via The Epoch Times,

Multiple Democratic and Republican senators on Nov. 24 signaled that they will grill President-elect Donald Trump’s choices to lead the Intelligence Community and the Pentagon.

https://assets.zerohedge.com/s3fs-public/inline-images/image%20-%202024-11-25T054021.521.jpg?itok=KZ4sRtg1

Earlier this month, Trump nominated former Democratic Rep. Tulsi Gabbard to become his director of national intelligence (DNI) and Fox News host Pete Hegseth to be his secretary of defense. Both positions require confirmation by the Senate.

Sen. James Lankford (R-Okla.), a member of the Senate Intelligence Committee, said on Nov. 24 on CNN that his panel will have “lots of questions” for Gabbard, singling out her meeting as a congresswoman with Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad as a point of contention.

“She met with Bashar Assad. We’ll want to know what the purpose was,” he said.

“We’ll want to get a chance to talk about past comments that she’s made and get them into full context.”

Also on Nov. 24, Sen. Tammy Duckworth (D-Ill.) told the network that she believes Hegseth, a former Army National Guard officer, is “unqualified” to head up the Pentagon and also criticized the choice of Gabbard for DNI.

“I do think that we have a real deep concern whether or not she’s a compromised person,” Duckworth said, referring to the Assad meeting and her previous comments on Russia.

Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.), a member of the chamber’s Judiciary Committee, told ABC News on Nov. 24 that she wants background checks on Trump’s Cabinet selections.

“They’ve got to get their background checks together. They’ve got to get qualified nominees,” Klobuchar said.

“I want to make a decision on each one of them on the merits, as I’ve done in the past, and I can’t do that without the background checks.”

However, Sen. Markwayne Mullin (R-Okla.) told CNN that Gabbard could easily pass a background check because she is serving in the Army Reserve.

“There’s no document, there’s no background there for her to see, for anyone to see. She is a true patriot of the United States, and there’s no reason why the Democrats are going after her other than the fact they’re upset that she left their woke party,” he said, referencing the former congresswoman’s departure from the Democratic Party two years ago and her officially joining the Republican Party in October.

Hegseth has come under scrutiny in recent days after a 2017 police report revealed allegations - not charges - against the Fox News host.

The report states that a woman accused him of sexual assault at a hotel room in California; Hegseth has denied the allegations and has never been charged.

When he is nominated to head the Department of Defense after Trump takes office on Jan. 20, 2025, he is likely to face questions over the matter.

Sen. Bill Hagerty (R-Tenn.), told ABC on Nov. 24 that Hegseth is a “very talented individual” and that the claims are just “allegations.”

According to the senator, Hegseth may help boost recruitment numbers or retain enlisted members.

“We have a huge recruitment problem, a huge retention problem in the military,” he said, noting that people have told him that some military officials have informed him that they will stay in the military as a result of the Hegseth announcement.

“That’s the type of inspirational leader we need to see. Don’t let these allegations distract us. What we need is real, significant change,” Hagerty said.

“The Pentagon has been more focused on pronouns than they have lethality the past four years. We need to get back to business, and I think Pete is just the person to do it.”

Last week, Trump’s first choice for U.S. attorney general, former Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz, withdrew his name from consideration and said he will not be returning to the House next year. Gaetz said he doesn’t want an ongoing House Ethics investigation into his conduct to become a distraction for Trump.

Before Gaetz’s withdrawal, multiple Republican senators said they would want to see the ethics report before deciding whether to confirm him. The president-elect named attorney Pam Bondi as his new nominee for U.S. attorney general.

Over the weekend, Trump named investor and hedge fund manager Scott Bessent to be the Treasury secretary and named former Trump official Russ Vought to be his budget chief.

REPORT: Hillary Clinton has been exposed in another MASSIVE hoax.

You may have noticed that the media has been branding Tulsi Gabbard as a “Russian asset.”

The sniff test will quickly tell you this is a hoax. But where did this baseless claim originate from? It all started with — surprise — Hillary Clinton.

Megyn Kelly explained how Clinton lamented Gabbard’s status as a “rising star” in the Democratic Party. Gabbard was smart, a person of color, articulate, a combat veteran, and beautiful—all qualities that Clinton longed for before her presidential run came crashing down in 2016.

As Gabbard’s popularity continued to rise, she launched her presidential campaign in 2019, championing a populist, anti-war message that challenged the Democratic establishment’s norms.

By October of that year, Clinton suggested in a podcast that Gabbard was being groomed by the Russians for a third-party run. The media quickly picked up on this story, the hoax began, and it has now resurfaced after her DNI nomination.

Watch as Megyn Kelly explains.

Recess Appointments

Most (but not all) of this information came from a conversation I had with AI (chapGPT (https://deepai.org/chat/free-chatgpt)). I suspect that recess appointments may become a very hot topic in the coming months. This post is meant to be a reference or a very quick guide to those interested in recess appointments. This info only scratches the surface.

What positions need to be confirmed through the Senate appointment process?
According to a Congressional Research Service report (https://sgp.fas.org/crs/misc/RL30959.pdf), these presidentially-appointed positions requiring Senate approval can be categorized as follows:

Secretaries of the 15 Cabinet agencies, deputy secretaries, undersecretaries, assistant secretaries, and general counsels of those agencies: Over 350 positions
Justices of the Supreme Court: 9 positions (Supreme Court justices serve for life subject to death, retirement, resignation or impeachment.)
Certain jobs in independent, non-regulatory executive branch agencies, like NASA and the National Science Foundation: Over 120 positions
Director positions in the regulatory agencies, like the Environmental Protection Agency and the Federal Aviation Administration: Over 130 positions
U.S. Attorneys and U.S. Marshals: About 200 positions
Ambassadors to foreign nations: Over 150 positions
Presidential appointments to part-time positions, like the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System: Over 160 positions

What is a presidential recess appointment?
A Senate recess appointment is a provision that allows the President of the United States to appoint officials to certain federal positions without Senate confirmation when the Senate is in recess. This authority is derived from Article II, Section 2, Clause 3 of the U.S. Constitution. These appointments are temporary and last only until the end of the Senate's next session. Recess appointments can be contentious, as they can circumvent the Senate's advise-and-consent role, and they are often used to fill vacant positions when political gridlock prevents timely confirmations.

What has Trump said about recess appointments during his second term?
President-elect Donald Trump is considering using recess appointments to bypass Senate confirmations for some of his Cabinet picks. This tool, which allows presidents to fill positions during a Senate recess, is gaining attention as Trump seeks to assert his power and speed up the process of setting up his team. Trump has told the Senate elect majority leader, John Thune and the Speaker of the House Mike Johnson to be prepared to use recess appointments if it becomes necessary. Both said that they would be open to using recess appointments if the Senate appointment process does not work promptly.

Give a brief history of recess appointments.
Recess appointments have been a part of U.S. history since the founding of the republic, rooted in the Constitution's provision for such appointments by the President when the Senate is in recess. Here’s a very brief overview:

Early Use: The first recess appointment was made by President George Washington in 1789. He appointed a few officials to fill positions that required Senate confirmation.

19th Century: Recess appointments became more common, especially during periods of Senate inactivity or when partisan disputes hindered confirmations.

20th Century: The use of recess appointments continued, but the practice faced scrutiny during contentious political periods. The Supreme Court ruling in the 2014 case National Labor Relations Board v. Noel Canning limited the scope of recess appointments, stating that they could only be made during intersession recesses (the breaks between formal sessions of Congress), not during pro forma sessions.

21st Century: Recess appointments have generated ongoing debate, particularly regarding their use to bypass Senate confirmation processes during partisan gridlock.

Overall, recess appointments represent a balance between executive power and legislative oversight, reflecting evolving political dynamics in the U.S. government.

Pro Forma is used in an attempt to stop or slow down recess appointments what is it?
A pro forma session is a brief meeting of the Senate or House of Representatives during which no substantial business is conducted. These sessions are often held specifically to prevent the President from making recess appointments. When the Senate holds pro forma sessions, it typically does so every few days to maintain a presence and therefore is technically not "in recess" as defined by the Constitution.

When a pro forma session occurs, the Senate can block a recess appointment by demonstrating that it is still technically in session. This tactic became particularly prominent during periods of political contention when the White House and Senate leadership were at odds over appointments. By holding these pro forma sessions, the Senate ensures that it retains its constitutional role in the appointment process and limits the President's ability to make recess appointments.

What modern Presidents used recess appoints and why have they dramatically slowed down?

President Ronald Reagan made 243
George H. Bush made 77
President William J. Clinton made 139
President George W. Bush made 171
President Barack Obama made 32

Recess appointments, once a source of significant executive power and a flashpoint in presidential-Congressional relations, have all but vanished from modern politics. Since the Supreme Court’s 2014 Noel Canning v. NLRB decision, the Senate’s strategic use of pro forma sessions have blocked Presidents Barack Obama, Donald Trump, and Joe Biden from the conditions needed to make recess appointments. President-elect Donald Trump reignited this constitutional debate, calling on candidates for Senate Republican leadership to embrace recess appointments, stating “Any Republican Senator seeking the coveted LEADERSHIP position in the United States Senate must agree to Recess Appointments (in the Senate!), without which we will not be able to get people confirmed in a timely manner.”

President-elect Trump appoints three key positions in White House offices

President-elect Trump announced three key appointments to White House offices, including two who served during his first term.

The announcement included the appointment of James Braid, who will return to the White House as the deputy assistant to the president and director of the Office of Legislative Affairs.

Braid worked in legislative affairs at the Office of Management and Budget during Trump’s first term, and since then he has served as the lead policy staffer for Vice President-elect JD Vance in the U.S. Senate.

Braid has also served as chief of staff for multiple members of Congress, and has taken on several other senior policy roles on Capitol Hill since 2015.

Trump also announced Alex Latcham will return to the White House as the deputy assistant to the president and director of the Office of Public Liaison.

Latcham previously served as special assistant to the president and deputy political director during Trump’s first term.

For the past eight years, Latcham served Trump as a senior deputy political director for his campaign and for the Republican National Committee.

The third person to be appointed is Matt Brasseaux, who will serve as deputy assistant to the president and director of the Office of Public Affairs.

Brasseaux worked as a deputy political director for the Trump campaign and Republican National Committee in 2024.

Trump Cabinet nominees, appointees targeted with ‘violent, unAmerican threats’

Nearly a dozen of President-elect Donald Trump’s Cabinet nominees and other appointees tapped for the incoming administration were targeted Tuesday night with "violent, unAmerican threats to their lives and those who live with them," prompting a "swift" law enforcement response, Fox News Digital has learned.

The "attacks ranged from bomb threats to ‘swatting,’" according to Trump-Vance transition spokeswoman and incoming White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt. One of the officials issued a statement describing his incident as having involved a "pipe bomb threat" with "a pro-Palestinian themed message."

Sources told Fox News Digital that John Racliffe, the nominee to be CIA director, Pete Hegseth, the nominee for secretary of defense, and Rep. Elise Stefanik, the nominee for UN ambassador, were among those targeted. Brooke Rollins, who Trump has tapped to be secretary of agriculture, and Lee Zeldin, Trump's nominee to be EPA administrator, separately revealed they were also targeted.

"Last night and this morning, several of President Trump’s Cabinet nominees and administration appointees were targeted in violent, unAmerican threats to their lives and those who live with them," she told Fox News Digital on Wednesday. "In response, law enforcement acted quickly to ensure the safety of those who were targeted. President Trump and the entire Transition team are grateful for their swift action."

Local law enforcement officials responded to the threats and visited the homes of several nominees and appointees, Fox News Digital has learned. New York State Police said in a statement that members and K9 units "trained in explosives detection swept" Stefanik's home in Saratoga "and did not locate any explosive devices."

The FBI also issued a statement on Wednesday noting the bureau was "aware" of the spate of incidents.

"The FBI is aware of numerous bomb threats and swatting incidents targeting incoming administration nominees and appointees, and we are working with our law enforcement partners," it said. "We take all potential threats seriously and, as always, encourage members of the public to immediately report anything they consider suspicious to law enforcement."

Leavitt said Trump and the transition team "are focused on doing the work of uniting our nation by ensuring a safe and prosperous future."

"With President Trump as our example, dangerous acts of intimidation and violence will not deter us," she said.

Zeldin was among several officials who posted on social media or released statements about being targeted. He also revealed details about his particular incident.

"A pipe bomb threat targeting me and my family at my home today was sent in with a pro-Palestinian themed message," the Zeldin statement read. "My family and I were not home at the time and are safe. We are working with law enforcement to learn more as this situation develops. We are thankful for the swift actions taken by local officers to keep our family, neighbors, and local community secure."

Stefanik's office confirmed in a post on X that she was one of the targets of the incident.

"This morning, Congresswoman Elise Stefanik, her husband, and their three-year-old son were driving home to Saratoga County from Washington for Thanksgiving when they were informed of a bomb threat to their residence," the post stated. "New York State, County law enforcement, and U.S. Capitol Police responded immediately with the highest levels of professionalism. We are incredibly appreciative of the extraordinary dedication of law enforcement officers who keep our communities safe 24/7."

Rollins, in a post on X, said her "home and family" were threatened.

"This morning, we learned that a threat was issued against our home and family," she wrote. "Thanks to the swift efforts by the @fortworthpd we were unharmed and quickly returned home. I want to express my deep gratitude to the law-enforcement professionals who did their utmost, in both speed and expertise, to protect us — as they protect our community every single day."

The threats come mere months after Trump survived two assassination attempts.

Just days before accepting the Republican nomination, Trump was shot at a rally on July 13 in Butler, Pennsylvania. During the event, Trump was displaying a chart highlighting skyrocketing illegal immigration under the Biden-Harris administration. As he turned toward the chart, he was hit by a bullet that pierced the upper part of his right ear by the now-deceased would-be-assassin, Thomas Matthew Crooks. Trump credits the chart for saving his life.

Weeks later, in September, another would-be-assassin hid in the bushes at Trump International Golf Course in West Palm Beach, Florida. The alleged gunman, Ryan Wesley Routh, had an AK-47-style rifle pointing through the fence toward Trump as the GOP nominee was golfing. Trump was rushed off the golf course by U.S. Secret Service agents unharmed.

"The NIH — the “nation’s medical research agency” — oversees 27 separate institutes and controls a budget of nearly $48 billion. It is a division of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

President-elect Donald J. Trump late Tuesday nominated Jay Bhattacharya, M.D., Ph.D., professor of health policy at Stanford’s School of Medicine, to lead the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

The NIH — the “nation’s medical research agency” — oversees 27 separate institutes and centers and controls a budget of nearly $48 billion. It is a division of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).

“I am thrilled to nominate Jay Bhattacharya, MD, PhD, to serve as Director of the National Institutes of Health,” Trump announced on X. “Dr. Bhattacharya will work in cooperation with Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to direct the Nation’s Medical Research, and to make important discoveries that will improve Health, and save lives.”

Bhattacharya, a vocal critic of COVID-19 lockdowns and a champion of academic freedom, said on X that he is “honored and humbled” by the nomination.

“We will reform American scientific institutions,” he wrote, “so that they are worthy of trust again and will deploy the fruits of excellent science to make America healthy again!”

Robert F. Kennedy Jr., founder of Children’s Health Defense (CHD) and Trump’s nominee to lead the HHS, praised the choice, which will need to be confirmed by the U.S. Senate.

“I’m so grateful to President Trump for this spectacular appointment,” Kennedy wrote on X. “Dr. Jay Bhattacharya is the ideal leader to restore NIH as the international template for gold-standard science and evidence-based medicine.”

CHD CEO Mary Holland said, “CHD welcomes the nomination of Dr. Bhattacharya as a scientist of integrity. It is a great sign that he will now have the opportunity to lead this critical health institution.”

CHD Chief Scientific Officer Brian Hooker agreed. “I believe Dr. Bhattacharya will be an excellent director of NIH and will lead to a complete overhaul of the agency.”

Bhattacharya has long called for changes to NIH. In a January interview with The Washington Post, he said that NIH officials — especially Dr. Anthony Fauci — amassed too much power.

“I would restructure the NIH to allow there to be many more centers of power,” Bhattacharya told the Post, “so that you couldn’t have a small number of scientific bureaucrats, dominating a field for a very long time.”

Fauci directed the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, a division of the NIH, from 1983 to 2022. Rep. Brad Wenstrup (R-Ohio), chairman of the U.S. House of Representatives Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic said in a statement to the Post that Bhattacharya “is respected within the medical community and would ensure that public health returns to science-based solutions — not bureaucratic failed practices.”

The NIH awards roughly 50,000 grants annually to more than 300,000 researchers at over 2,500 universities, medical schools and other research institutions.

Trump also reveals his choice for HHS deputy secretary

Also on Tuesday, Trump announced on X his pick for HHS deputy secretary, Jim O’Neill.

O’Neill — who led earlier reforms at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration — “will oversee all operations and improve Management, Transparency, and Accountability to, Make America Healthy Again,” Trump said on X.

Kennedy called O’Neill the “perfect partner” to help him “restore HHS to its incorruptible scientific research and public health priorities,” given his “rich experience in government and industry.”

Bhattacharya co-authored declaration against lockdowns

If confirmed, Bhattacharya, who holds a doctorate in economics and a medical degree from Stanford, will replace Dr. Monica M. Bertagnolli.

He is a research associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research, a senior fellow at the Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research and the Stanford Freeman Spogli Institute. He has authored dozens of peer-reviewed articles.

Early in the COVID-19 pandemic, Bhattacharya co-authored the “Great Barrington Declaration,” a document criticizing lockdowns for the physical and mental health harms they would cause — especially for children.

He and his co-authors — all infectious disease epidemiologists and public health scientists — argued for a “Focused Protection” approach to COVID-19 that minimized social harm and mortality until society reached “herd immunity.”

The declaration stated:

“The most compassionate approach that balances the risks and benefits of reaching herd immunity, is to allow those who are at minimal risk of death to live their lives normally to build up immunity to the virus through natural infection, while better protecting those who are at highest risk.”

The document drew hundreds of thousands of signatures in support — but also drew criticism from top NIH officials, including Fauci and Francis S. Collins, M.D., Ph.D., then-director of NIH.

Former NIH leader called him ‘fringe’

In an email to Fauci obtained under the Freedom of Information Act, Collins dismissed Bhattacharya and his co-authors as “fringe” experts and called for a “take down” of the declaration, the Post reported.

According to Newsweek, Bhattacharya said on Fox News last year that Fauci and Collins “created an illusion of scientific consensus around their ideas and marginalized anyone that disagreed with them even though there wasn’t a scientific consensus.”

He added, “It’s a pattern of behavior that reflects an abuse of power by American scientific bureaucrats at the very top of our scientific bureaucracies.”

Bhattacharya faced public criticism and censorship for his views, prompting him to become a plaintiff in the anti-censorship lawsuit Murthy v. Missouri.

Bhattacharya is known for fostering scientific debate, rather than delivering authoritarian policy edicts. In September, he organized an academic conference on pandemic policy for hearing and debating diverse perspectives.

Bhattacharya said during the event’s introduction that it’s in the “middle” of dialogue that we learn “what ought to be done … because no nobody has a monopoly on the truth.”

He has called for encouraging academic freedom among NIH scientists, doing more NIH studies that repeat other studies to increase confidence in science, and term limits for NIH leaders, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Calley Means, who co-authored “Good Energy: The Surprising Connection Between Metabolism and Limitless Health,” called Bhattacharya a “bold, transformative pick.”

Karl Jablonowski, Ph.D., senior research scientist at CHD, told The Defender that the financial entanglement of the U.S. government and pharmaceutical companies has created a “blindspot” that has stunted and distorted scientific research — especially research on vaccines.

“Dr. Bhattacharya is the perfect person to shine the light so bright on our willful ignorance that the world will never be the same,” Jablonowski said.

Trump Nominates Kash Patel For FBI Director

by Tyler Durden
Authored...
After weeks of speculation, President-elect Donald Trump announced on Saturday that he's picked Kash Patel to replace Christopher Wray as the head of the FBI.

https://assets.zerohedge.com/s3fs-public/styles/inline_image_mobile/public/inline-images/kash-patel-donald-trump-01-ap-llr-220816_1660699448480_hpMain.jpg?itok=u1v-RPK9

Patel has been a longtime critic of the bureau who has called for shutting down the agency's Washington headquarters, cleaning house when it comes to top leadership, and bringing the nation's law enforcement agencies "to heel."

Kash Patel is no stranger to tackling big roles. He’s worked across defense, intelligence, and counterterrorism—now he might become CIA chief under Trump! What would a CIA led by Patel look like? pic.twitter.com/rP71IOTCsf

— Restricted Daily (@Restricted_on_X) November 12, 2024
According to a Saturday post to Truth Social (https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/113574572759738919), Trump called Patel a "brilliant lawyer, investigator, and “America First” fighter who has spent his career exposing corruption, defending Justice, and protecting the American People."

"He played a pivotal role in uncovering the Russia, Russia, Russia Hoax, standing as an advocate for truth, accountability, and the Constitution," Trump continued.

Patel has been open about what kind of changes he'd pursue if given the chance. His various proposals include reducing the FBI's footprint in Washington and “dramatically” limiting its authority. He hopes to curb the power of the Justice Department's Civil Division and jettison a Pentagon office that produces classified assessments of long-term trends and risks, arguing it is just a tool of the “deep state.”

Patel has said he also intends to aggressively hunt down government officials who leak information to reporters, and change the law to make it easier to sue journalists. During an interview with Steve Bannon in December, Patel said he and others “will go out and find the conspirators not just in government but in the media.” -AP

Patel has served as both a federal prosecutor and a public defender, and filled a number of administrative roles at the tail end of Trump's first term, including on the National Security Council and in the Pentagon.

And in a sign this is a good move - in 2021 when Trump floated Patel for deputy director of the CIA or the FBI, former AG William Barr said that would happen "over my dead body."

Former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe said that no part of the FBI would be "safe" with Patel in a leadership position.

MELTDOWN: The fact that disgraced Andrew McCabe is against Kash taking over the FBI shows up that Kash is EXACTLY the correct person for the job. pic.twitter.com/YbDdj9LGXP

— Breaking911 (@Breaking911) December 1, 2024

In response, Patel told the Washington Post: "Those calling me a danger, let’s just ask them for a proof, a piece of evidence that actually shows I’ve committed any constitutional violations or any ethical quandaries, and I’d love to hear their response to this."

Current FBI Director Christopher Wray will now either have to resign or be fired, assuming Patel makes it through Senate confirmation.

And as noted above, Patel has vowed to investigate and possibly prosecute regime-puppet journalists.

"Yes, we’re going to come after the people in the media who lied about American citizens, who helped Joe Biden rig presidential elections — we’re going to come after you," Patel said last year. "Whether it’s criminally or civilly, we’ll figure that out."

A Wall Street Journal Bestseller

“A brilliant roadmap highlighting every corrupt actor, to ultimately return our agencies and departments to work for the American People…we will use this blueprint to help us take back the White House and remove these Gangsters from all of Government!” —Donald J. Trump

The highest levels of government have been infiltrated by an anti-democratic Deep State that can be defeated by refocusing our national security mission and relentlessly defending the truth.

A sinister cabal of corrupt law enforcement personnel, intelligence agents, and military officials at the highest levels of government plotted to overthrow a president. Even after they failed, they continue to secretly pull the levers of power without any accountability to the American people. This isn’t the synopsis of a fictional spy thriller. This is what is actually happening in the United States government.

In Government Gangsters, Kash Patel—a former top official in the White House, the Department of Defense, the Intelligence Community, and the Department of Justice—pulls back the curtain on the Deep State, revealing the major players and tactics within the permanent government bureaucracy, which has spent decades stripping power away from the American people and their elected leaders. Based on his firsthand knowledge, Patel reveals how we can defeat the Deep State, reassert self-government, and restore our democracy.

You might not agree with 100% of Donald Trump’s appointees, but it’s clear there is a gameplan in mind.

Kash as FBI Director is more proof that eradicating the Deep State is atop the agenda. Those claiming Trump is compromised, can be swiftly disregarded moving forward.

We have Elon and Vivek deleting 80%+ of the federal government, RFK Jr. in charge of health and the Covid reckoning, Tulsi in charge of all intelligence, Homan shutting down the border and deporting illegals, and now Kash is going to gut the FBI.

Sign me up. If you can’t get excited and/or hopeful about this, then you’re just blackpilling for the sake of blackpilling. Trump and his team are, at the very least, attempting to address the corruption and destroy the Deep State.

Will it work? We shall see. But it’s clear Trump is not messing around this time.

I suspect Jared will be looking for how to save NASA massive amounts of money. The SLS rocket, which the US Senate forced NASA to build, cost $28 billion so far and has only launched one time. It costs about $3 billion to $4 billion for each launch. Boeing is the prime contractor.

I would guess that the days are numbered for the SLS rocket.

Trump Selects An Actual Astronaut To Lead NASA

by Tyler Durden
Wednesday, Dec 04, 2024 - 03:25 PM
President-elect Donald Trump announced Wednesday afternoon that he has selected billionaire entrepreneur and veteran SpaceX astronaut Jared Isaacman to lead the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).

If confirmed, Isaacman would replace Bill Nelson, a former US senator from Florida who oversaw the space agency under the outgoing Biden administration.

https://assets.zerohedge.com/s3fs-public/inline-images/Gd9_-cZXYAAKUU7.jpg?itok=yFDtPRmA

Here's Trump's statement on Isaacman's nomination:

I am delighted to nominate Jared Isaacman, an accomplished business leader, philanthropist, pilot, and astronaut, as Administrator of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). Jared will drive NASA's mission of discovery and inspiration, paving the way for groundbreaking achievements in Space science, technology, and exploration.

Over the past 25 years, as the Founder and CEO of Shift4, Jared has demonstrated exceptional leadership, building a trailblazing global financial technology company. He also co-founded and served as CEO of Draken International, a defense aerospace company, for over a decade, supporting the US Department of Defense, and our Allies.

Jared's passion for Space, astronaut experience, and dedication to pushing the boundaries of exploration, unlocking the mysteries of the universe, and advancing the new Space economy, make him ideally suited to lead NASA into a bold new Era.

Congratulations to Jared, his wife Monica, and their children, Mila and Liv!

Moments after Trump posted on X, Isaacman released his statement:

https://x.com/rookisaacman/status/1864359325826994425?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1864359325826994425%7Ctwgr% 5E0a7f85960ac6c8d81c38fe8377f39d9495d6e358%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.zerohedge.com%2Fpolitical%2Ftrump-selects-actual-astronaut-lead-nasa

Jared Isaacman

@rookisaacman
I am honored to receive President Trump’s
@realDonaldTrump
nomination to serve as the next Administrator of NASA. Having been fortunate to see our amazing planet from space, I am passionate about America leading the most incredible adventure in human history.

On my last mission to space, my crew and I traveled farther from Earth than anyone in over half a century. I can confidently say this second space age has only just begun. Space holds unparalleled potential for breakthroughs in manufacturing, biotechnology, mining, and perhaps even pathways to new sources of energy. There will inevitably be a thriving space economy—one that will create opportunities for countless people to live and work in space. At NASA, we will passionately pursue these possibilities and usher in an era where humanity becomes a true spacefaring civilization.

I was born after the Moon landings; my children were born after the final space shuttle launch. With the support of President Trump, I can promise you this: We will never again lose our ability to journey to the stars and never settle for second place. We will inspire children, yours and mine, to look up and dream of what is possible. Americans will walk on the Moon and Mars and in doing so, we will make life better here on Earth.

It is the honor of a lifetime to serve in this role and to work alongside NASA’s extraordinary team to realize our shared dreams of exploration and discovery.

Grateful to serve, Jared

Trump's decision to nominate Isaacman comes months after he and SpaceX engineer Sarah Gillis made history by performing the world's first commercial spacewalk (https://www.zerohedge.com/technology/welcome-back-planet-earth-spacex-polaris-dawn-crew-returns-after-historic-spacewalk) farther from Earth than any other astronaut in over half a century.

https://assets.zerohedge.com/s3fs-public/inline-images/2024-09-12_06-52-49_0.png?itok=j4Z6AZaV

That mission, called Polaris Dawn (https://www.zerohedge.com/technology/spacexs-polaris-dawn-crew-now-zero-g-ahead-historic-spacewalk), was partially funded by Isaacman to test Starlink technology and space suits.

Isaacman emphasized how America will maintain its space dominance: "We will never again lose our ability to journey to the stars and never settle for second place." This comment concerns the space race between the US, China, and Russia.

The NASA Administrator manages a budget of about $25 billion and will play a pivotal role in the upcoming Artemis moon mission in the coming years.

"There will inevitably be a thriving space economy — one that will create opportunities for countless people to live and work in space," Isaacman said, adding, "At NASA, we will passionately pursue these possibilities and usher in an era where humanity becomes a true spacefaring civilization."

Elon Musk's SpaceX is why America is far ahead in the global space race.

Hungarian born Sebastian Groka has been called a conman, huckster, islamaphobic and that is by people in his own party.

Trump’s counter terror pick Sebastian Gorka is a ‘conman’ who needs FBI background check, Bolton says

https://www.politico.com/dims4/default/eafe3bc/2147483647/strip/true/crop/6000x4000+0+0/resize/630x420!/quality/90/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fstatic.politico.com%2F70%2F7e%2F07797f164ead8fe3efd780a660b7%2Felection-2022-trump-40345.jpg

When Donald Trump’s former national security adviser John Bolton appeared on CNN Friday night, he didn’t hold back when commenting on Trump’s pick for his counterterrorism director.

“Sebastian Gorka is a con man,” Bolton told host Kaitlan Collins.

“He needs a full-field FBI background investigation about his educational claims and things like that,” he added. “I think he is a perfect example of somebody who owes his position purely to Donald Trump, he doesn’t display loyalty, he displays fealty, and that’s what Trump wants.”

Boltson said Trump “doesn’t want Gorka’s opinions.”

“He wants Gorka to say, ‘Yes, sir,’ and I am fully confident that’s exactly what will happen, no matter what it is Trump says,” Bolton argued.

To hear Trump put it, Gorka has been a “tireless advocate for the America First Agenda and the MAGA Movement” since 2015, according to the president-elect’s announcement on Friday.

Gorka, who was born in the UK to Hungarian parents, is “a legal immigrant” with “more than 30 years of National Security experience,” Trump said.

What Trump neglected to mention was that Gorka was pushed out of his White House role as a strategist to the president in his first administration.

Divisive and combative as he staunchly defended Trump, Gorka was one of the main backers of the then-president’s ban on refugees and people from several Muslim-majority countries.

Gorka’s views on Islam have been a source of controversy — specifically, comments he has made about violence being an intrinsic part of the Islamic faith. His academic credentials have also been questioned, as Bolton suggested on CNN.

“Obviously he’s not the expert he claims to be — obviously,” Hungarian newspaper editor Gabor Horvath told NBC News in 2017.

“He got his master’s degree and his PhD from the Corvinus University in Hungary. The Corvinus University is not a center for national security studies, certainly not internationally recognized studies of this kind,” he added.

An op-ed inThe New York Times once referred to him as “The Islamophobic Huckster (https://www.nytimes.com/2017/02/24/opinion/the-islamophobic-huckster-in-the-white-house.html?_r=0) in the White House.”

Trump’s then-White House chief of staff John Kelly reportedly pulled Gorka’s security clearance when he was on vacation, making it impossible for him to do his job, HuffPost noted at the time.

This time around, Trump has suggested sidestepping the background check process usually conducted by the FBI to get his nominees and appointees into their expected roles.

Gorka has dismissed the threat of white nationalism, and instead argued that Islamist extremists constituted the biggest threat to the US.

His supposed ties to the Nazi-connected Hungarian political group Vitezi Rend have also worried some during his first short stint in the White House. The group collaborated with the Nazis during the Second World War and reformed following the end of the country’s Communist government in 1989, according to HuffPost.

Jewish outlet The Forward reported in March 2017 that Gorka was a member of the group. Gorka wore the group’s insignia at Trump’s first inaugural ball, later saying that the medals he wore belonged to his father, who was handed them as “a declaration for his resistance to [Communist] dictatorship,” Gorka told Breitbart, one of his former employers.

Before coming to the US in 2008, Gorka moved to Hungary in 1992 and worked for the country’s Ministry of Defense before becoming an adviser to Prime Minister Viktor Orban in 1998.

Gorka ran for mayor in the small town of Piliscsaba in 2006, coming in third place. Several members of the community told NBC News that he was a member of Vitezi Rend; one of the group’s leaders told CNN that the organization was never connected to the Nazis and that Gorka was not a pledged member.

List of Ambassadors appointed by Trump 2016 & 2024

Trump has been busier than most people realize. This is quite a list. You can view the full list from the source link.

https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/1/10/Flag_of_a_United_States_ambassador.svg/1920px-Flag_of_a_United_States_ambassador.svg.png
Flag of American Ambassadors

Ambassadorships are often used as a form of political patronage to reward high-profile or important supporters of the president. The most visible ambassadorships are often distributed either in this way or to the president's ideological or partisan confreres. Most ambassadorships, however, are assigned to foreign service officers who have spent their career in the State Department. Regardless, all ambassadors must be formally appointed by the president and confirmed by the Senate. While all ambassadors serve at the president's pleasure and may be dismissed at any time, career diplomats usually serve tours of roughly three years before receiving a new assignment; political appointees customarily tender their resignations upon the inauguration of a new president.

I know that I am getting a little off track here, but John Bolton will undoubtedly have a loud dissenting voice when we move through the actual Senate hearings to confirm or reject Trump's nominees.

https://www.rollingstone.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/john-bolton-book-is-bad.jpg

Bolton has worked for several administrations pawning himself off as a diplomat when in fact his real goal always was and still is to get and keep America firmly engaged in war. There is no doubt whatsoever that he is in the pockets of Lockheed Martin, Raytheon Technologies, General Dynamics and other major government contractors. Here are a few facts about john.

Bolton wrote an op-ed for the New York Times headlined, “To Stop Iran’s Bomb, Bomb Iran.” It was riddled with Bolton’s characteristic falsehoods, all to make the case for unprovoked war.
Bolton strenuously supported the Vietnam War, but just as strenuously opposed the idea of him personally having to fight it. Before graduating from Yale, he enlisted in the National Guard to be sure he avoided combat. He later explained, “I had no desire to die in a Southeast Asian rice paddy,” suggesting that he was generously providing an opportunity for someone who did want to die like that. Bolton shortly went on to intern for Vice President Spiro Agnew.
Bolton wrote another op-ed this time for the Wall Street Journal calling for yet another unprovoked war, this time with North Korea.
Bolton argued that presidents should now be able to ignore the war powers clause of the Constitution, which reserves the right to declare war to Congress and attack other countries whenever they feel like it.

We could see sparks fly when the Senate takes up Kimberly Guilfoyle's (Donald Trump Jr.'s former girlfriend) nomination for Ambassador to Greece.

The View called this nomination:
The Best Break-Up Outcome Possible.

The ultra-liberal site Slate headlined it this way:
This Has to Be the Funniest Possible Way to Deal With Kimberly Guilfoyle

https://compote.slate.com/images/542601ac-edd2-4300-a1af-50b1f1ffda8f.jpeg?width=1280

Here is the slate story

Poor Kimberly Guilfoyle. Or … lucky Kimberly Guilfoyle? The former Fox News host has received either a demotion or a promotion, depending on how you look at it. As of this week, it seems as if longtime rumours that she’s no longer in line to be President-elect Donald Trump’s daughter-in-law are bearing out. But in true “when one door closes, a window opens” fashion, instead, she’ll be the United States’ next ambassador to Greece.

Trump announced the appointment on Tuesday, the same day a British tabloid published photos of Guilfoyle’s once and possibly still current fiancé, Donald Trump Jr., out with another woman, Florida socialite Bettina Anderson. Don Jr. and Guilfoyle got engaged in 2020, and although no one has officially confirmed a split, this week’s photos follow months of speculation about the status of the conservative power couple.

While banishing one of his children’s exes to another country does sound like something Trump would do, that’s probably not what’s going on here. I mean, maybe for Ivanka, but for Don Jr.? Nah: If anyone is being rewarded, it’s probably Guilfoyle. She’s been a loyal soldier to Trump for a long time, and she arguably kept Don Jr. out of his hair for six years. Ambassador to Greece is a plum gig—in Trump’s eyes, it’s an important country but also a vacation country—and giving it to Guilfoyle is a way of thanking her for her service. (Unnamed Trumpworld sources are also advancing the idea that Greece will be strategically important because of developments in Syria. Maybe Guilfoyle will have more luck with peace in the Middle East than Jared Kushner ever did?)

For Guilfoyle, it’ll be just another wrinkle in an interesting political evolution. From 2001 to 2006, she was married to California Gov. Gavin Newsom, a Democrat, and back then she looked every bit the prim political spouse. After the two divorced, she found her way to Fox News, and eventually the MAGA orbit. Will she do another political 180 to match the next person she dates? Just one more reason to stay tuned for her ambassadorship.

Elon is not what he seems. This report came out last year, but still very few seem to be aware of who and what he really is.
Elon, X, and the Epitome of a Front Man
Greg Reese
Jul 26, 2023
(Video at the link)

"The illusion of choice will make your financial enslavement less painful
Elon Musk announced over a year ago that he planned to convert Twitter into an everything app like China’s WeChat. An app to do everything including online banking and finance.

Last April Musk announced that Twitter Inc. has been renamed to X Corp., he created a new Artificial Intelligence company known as X.AI and he partnered with eToro for stock and crypto exchange.

The media would have you believe that Elon Musk is an independent billionaire genius whose dream is to revolutionize banking. But this story is demonstrably false. The facts tell us that Elon Musk is a frontman for the same old same old. But because he says there are only two genders he has gained the trust of a radicalized people in a time of war, without ever having to explain his lies.

Musk says he grew up poor but his family was rich with emeralds and had a history of abuse and witchcraft. Telltale signs of multi-generational mind control.

Musk received tens of thousands of dollars from his parents to launch his first business venture. A digital phone book known as Zip2. Outside coders were hired to write the entire thing because Elon couldn’t code. Zip2 sold for millions and went nowhere. But Elon made 22 million dollars and with the help of the mainstream media, launched his new persona as a quirky pop-star genius. He then acquired x dot com and announced he would create an online bank known as X. He partnered with banking experts who all left the company after accusing Elon of lying to the media about the product. Which is all he did.

Elon Musk is believed to have co-founded PayPal. This is false. In 2000 Musk sold his failing x dot com business to Confinity, a company founded in 1998 by Peter Thiel and Max Levchin. All Musk reportedly did there was insist on changing the company’s name to X. He was forced out but somehow managed to get them to agree in writing to remove all references to ‘founders’ from the company website.

Musk made nearly two hundred million off the sale of PayPal, a company that he contributed nothing to, and then used that money along with the illusion of being a successful businessman co-founder to buy his way into Tesla.

Tesla Motors was founded in 2003 by Marc Tarpenning and Martin Eberhard, who developed the Tesla Roadster. When Tesla accepted millions from Elon, it came with the condition that he be named chairman of the company. Even though he only contributed money, Musk was unable to hide his anger that the media wasn’t giving him credit for Tesla Motors. And after forcing Eberhard out of the company he re-wrote their history to have himself listed as an original co-founder.

This obvious fake persona of a billionaire quirky genius has worked so well that few even question SpaceX. The official story is that Elon, who has absolutely no experience with rocket science, came up with the idea for SpaceX while traveling to Russia with the CIA's Michael Griffin of In-Q-Tel. Shortly after this conversation, Griffin was made administrator of NASA where he launched the COTS program that privatized NASA’s rocket program. And awarded two-hundred and seventy-eight million dollars to SpaceX who had never made or flown any rockets. Musk then partnered with rocket engineer Tom Mueller, who went on to produce rocket technology that has clearly been developed for years in the private sectors of the military-industrial complex.

Elon's companies have received billions in government subsidies over the last two decades. Money that was later spent on the purchase of Twitter. Where he immediately began the process of turning it into an everything app with its own banking system. Or rather, the ruling class cabal that pulls his strings is turning Twitter into an everything app with its own banking system. And that should be alarming. But he says there are only two genders, and families are good, and people love a hero.

They don’t need to chip you to control you. We already have iris scanners and palm scanners. A cashless society will do the job. And for many, Elon’s X will be preferable to Amazon’s palm scanners. The illusion of choice will make your financial enslavement less painful."

Trump names ambassador to Panama after suggesting US control of Panama Canal

https://www.foxcharleston.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/trumpcabera-crLwCf.jpeg

President-elect Donald Trump on Wednesday announced his pick for US ambassador to Panama.

Trump named Miami-Dade County Commissioner Kevin Marino Cabrera as his choice for the post after suggesting that the US should take control of the Panama Canal – a proposal he first floated over the weekend while claiming that Panama is “ripping off” American ships that pass through the waterway.

“I am pleased to announce that Kevin Marino Cabrera will serve as the United States Ambassador to the Republic of Panama, a Country that is ripping us off on the Panama Canal, far beyond their wildest dreams,” Trump said in a statement. The president-elect added Cabrera, who also worked for his presidential campaign in Florida, “will do a FANTASTIC job representing our Nation’s interests in Panama!”

Trump on Wednesday continued to tease US territorial expansion in social media posts, criticizing the operation of the canal and doubling down on suggestions the US should absorb Canada and Greenland, a territory controlled by Denmark.

In a sardonic Christmas message, Trump claimed Chinese soldiers are operating the Panama Canal and reiterated his criticism that Panama is exploiting US vessels that use the waterway.

“Merry Christmas to all, including to the wonderful soldiers of China, who are lovingly, but illegally, operating the Panama Canal (where we lost 38,000 people in its building 110 years ago), always making certain that the United States puts in Billions of Dollars in ‘repair’ money, but will have absolutely nothing to say about ‘anything,’” Trump wrote on his Truth Social network.

In the same message, Trump called Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau “governor,” again insinuating Canada should become a US state. He also suggested the citizens of Greenland “want the US to be there, and we will.”

Trump vows to replace head of National Archives as top prosecutor in classified documents case leaves DOJ

https://media-cldnry.s-nbcnews.com/image/upload/t_fit-1000w,f_auto,q_auto:best/rockcms/2024-09/240913-department-of-justice-doj-mn-0850-5038c3.jpg

As Donald Trump gears up to take office this month, two agencies involved in the criminal case that accused the president-elect of mishandling classified documents face turnover in key roles.

Jay Bratt, a lead prosecutor in the documents case, which has since been dismissed, left the Justice Department last week, a spokesperson confirmed Monday.

Bratt, a senior national security official assigned to special counsel Jack Smith’s office, retired Friday after 34 years at the department.

NBC News has reported that Smith and his team planned to resign before Trump’s inauguration on Jan. 20.

Meanwhile, Trump said Monday that he intends to replace Colleen Shogan as head of the National Archives.

“We will have a new archivist,” Trump told radio host Hugh Hewitt.

In response to a request for comment, the Archives said in a statement Monday night that Shogan "has had a strong working relationship" with Trump and his team.

"We look forward to continuing that relationship with the new administration," the statement said.

Sean Curran, the head of President-elect Trump's personal Secret Service security detail, is expected to become the agency's next director.

Curran was among the group of heroic agents who rushed on stage to shield Trump with their bodies during a failed assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania, that left two dead and the candidate with an injury to his ear.

Curran appears next to Trump in a series of photos showing the former and future president returning to his feet, blood running down his face and raising a fist, prompting cheers from the audience.

Three bystanders were shot. They were firefighter Corey Comperatore, 50, who died from his injuries; David Dutch, 57; and James Copenhaver, 74, both of whom survived.

In the aftermath, Trump praised the members of his personal detail and defended them from criticism.

"Trump wanted someone he could trust, and they clearly have formed a bond after Pennsylvania," said Bill Gage, a former Secret Service agent under presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama.

"Even with all of the mistakes in Butler, the mistakes were from the advance team. The agents assigned to Trump and Curran performed exactly as trained."

Trump names Brian Driscoll to serve as acting FBI director after sudden Abbate retirement

https://a57.foxnews.com/static.foxnews.com/foxnews.com/content/uploads/2025/01/720/405/fbi-director-driscoll-2.jpg?ve=1&tl=1
Brian Driscoll joined the FBI in 2007. (FBI)

President Trump named Brian Driscoll to serve as acting director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) on Monday, marking one of his first moves on Inauguration Day.

According to the FBI website, Driscoll became a special agent in 2007. He has experience working in the agency's New York field office and also worked on the FBI's SWAT team.

The White House's announcement came shortly after FBI acting director Paul Abbate retired on Monday, reportedly just minutes before Trump took office. Christopher Wray stepped down from the agency on Sunday, and Abbate only held down the acting director post for a day.

"When the director asked me to stay on past my mandatory date for a brief time, I did so to help ensure continuity and the best transition for the F.B.I. Now, with new leadership inbound, after nearly four years in the deputy role, I am departing the F.B.I.," Abbate said in an email obtained by the New York Times on Monday. "I have complete confidence in you and in your ability as a team to continue to carry out our mission of protecting the American people and upholding the Constitution."

Last week, then-FBI director Wray named Driscoll as the special agent in charge of the FBI field office in Newark, New Jersey. In a press release published on Jan. 14, the agency noted that Driscoll "most recently served as the commander of the FBI's Hostage Rescue Team (HRT) and Critical Incident Response Group's (CIRG) Tactical Section chief."

"In March 2011, Mr. Driscoll was selected as an operator for FBI's HRT," the press release noted. "Ultimately, he became an HRT team leader, responsible for the planning and execution of tactical solutions in furtherance of FBI global operations."

"He also collaborated with foreign law enforcement and military partners to conduct operations and training, strengthening FBI global partnerships."

Driscoll’s time as acting director will presumably end when Kashyap "Kash" Patel is confirmed as the FBI’s next director by the U.S. Senate. Patel was nominated by Trump in November, who called him an "America First fighter."

https://a57.foxnews.com/static.foxnews.com/foxnews.com/content/uploads/2024/11/720/405/kash-patel-3.jpg?ve=1&tl=1

"Kash is a brilliant lawyer, investigator, and ‘America First’ fighter who has spent his career exposing corruption, defending Justice, and protecting the American People," Trump's statement read. "He played a pivotal role in uncovering the Russia, Russia, Russia Hoax, standing as an advocate for truth, accountability, and the Constitution."

Noem Confirmed As DHS Secretary

by Tyler Durden
Saturday, Jan 25, 2025 - 01:25 PM
The Senate on Saturday confirmed Kristi Noem as President Donald Trump's Secretary of Homeland Security, meaning that the South Dakota governor will be in charge of a massive agency established after the September 11, 2001 attacks, and has since had a long record of civil liberties and civil rights abuses.

https://assets.zerohedge.com/s3fs-public/inline-images/Kristi-Noem_SD-1200x800-700x420_0.jpg?itok=LIcZdMM7

Noem was confirmed by a final vote of 59-34. Of note, the Trump ally who is in her second term as governor received support from several Democrats on the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee when it voted 13-2 to advance her nomination earlier in the week. Republicans have also expressed confidence in Noem's ability to lead border security and immigration enforcement, AP reports.

Meanwhile back at the swamp:

"Fixing this crisis and restoring respect for the rule of law is one of President Trump and Republicans’ top priorities," sid Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD) on Friday. "And it’s going to require a decisive and committed leader at the Department of Homeland Security. I believe Kristi has everything it takes to undertake this task."

Democrats' primary opposition to Noem revolved around how to handle border enforcement and immigration under Trump - with figures like Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer (NY) vowing to vote against Noem, suggesting instead "bipartisan solutions to fix the mess at our border" vs Noem, who he said "seems headed in the wrong direction."

The homeland security secretary oversees U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Citizenship and Immigration Services. Beyond those agencies, the department is also responsible for securing airline transportation, protecting dignitaries, responding to natural disasters and more.

Trump is planning major changes to how the department functions, including involving the military in immigration enforcement and reshaping the Federal Emergency Management Agency. Those plans could immediately put Noem in the spotlight after the new president visited recent disaster sites in North Carolina and California on Friday. -AP

Noem was repeatedly asked by Senators during her confirmation hearing whether she would administer disaster aid to states even if Trump asked her not to, to which she replied that she would "deliver the programs according to the law and that it will be done with no political bias."

Noem was notably a state House Rep. for eight years before becoming governor in 2019.

"That's just an enormous, reality that has to be addressed. So in other words, we have made with all of the problems that we have today, and there are many. We have made enormous progress in public health and in saving children's lives."

"And what in a sense I'm hearing from all of you is that is in danger, that we may revert back to those terrible days when so many children died at the age of 1 or 2 or 3."

Donald Trump decisively won the election because he galvanized his MAGA base with the Medical Freedom and Unity movements. If the Senate fails to confirm Robert F. Senators Who’ve Raked In Millions From Big Pharma To Question RFK Jr. In Double Hearings

https://thefederalist.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/RFK-1200x675.jpg

In a make-or-break moment to ‘make America healthy again,’ Trump’s pick to lead the crusade at HHS will be questioned Wednesday and Thursday.

President Donald Trump’s pick to run the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) will be grilled in public hearings held by lawmakers who’ve pocketed more than $10 million from the pharmaceutical industry.

In a make-or-break moment for the movement to “make America healthy again,” Trump’s nominee to lead the crusade at HHS, environmental lawyer Robert F. Kennedy Jr., is scheduled to testify on Capitol Hill Wednesday and Thursday. Kennedy will appear before the Senate Finance Committee first, and the Health, Education Labor & Pensions Committee second.

“There are a series of industries that actually make money from keeping us sick,” Kennedy said in an interview with Dr. Phil last year, which the host re-shared this week. “You would think they want us healthy but they actually make more money if we get sicker. And of course, with the pharmaceutical companies, if you have a chronic illness then you’re a lifetime patient.”

Kennedy said the diabetes drug Ozempic in particular is being relied on to induce weight loss for a nation where more than two-thirds are overweight and 40 percent are obese. In November, the Biden administration proposed an 11th-hour rule to cover the medication under federal insurance programs. If confirmed as HHS secretary, Kennedy would decide whether to approve the $35 billion handout for drug manufacturers or terminate the proposal. Kennedy, however, has been a consistent critic of the medications now recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) for obese children as young as 12.

“A sick child,” Kennedy said in his August endorsement speech of Trump, “is the best thing for the pharmaceutical industry. When American children or adults are sick with a chronic condition, they’re put on medication for their entire life.”

Kennedy’s persistent antagonism of the pharmaceutical giants led to a shock in their stocks upon his nomination to lead the nearly $2 trillion agency in charge of regulating the drug industry. HHS holds jurisdiction over the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), making HHS a primary recruitment ground for the industry’s revolving door of influence, which Kennedy has pledged to eliminate.

On Wednesday, Kennedy will face his first round of questions before lawmakers on the Senate Finance Committee who’ve received roughly $7 million from drug companies between 2019 and 2024, according to a Federalist analysis of industry donations compiled by OpenSecrets. Members of the Senate Health Committee, who will question Kennedy Thursday, have received more than $5.6 million in contributions from the pharmaceutical industry, or nearly $4.4 million around a similar timespan once excluding Sens. Roger Marshall, R-Kan., Bill Cassidy, R-La., and Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn, who also serve on the Finance Committee.

Sen. Thom Tillis, R-N.C., received more contributions from the drug makers than any other member of either party across both committees, with more than $691,000 between 2019 and 2024, according to OpenSecrets. Sen. Cassidy, a physician who has been one of Kennedy’s most vocal critics by targeting past skepticism of vaccines, came in a close second with nearly $673,000 from pharmaceutical interests in the same five-year period.

Senator Loses Control as RFK Jr. Schools Her on Bad Science

KENNEDY: “NIH has overseen, over the past several years, the decline—the precipitous decline—of American health. There are 91,000 people at HHS. And are you suggesting that some of them should not be held responsible for that decline?”

ALSOBROOKS: “I ask the questions. And the question is really whether you intend, as you said, to substitute essentially your judgment for the judgment of these professional scientists.”

KENNEDY: “Of course, I’m not going to do that. What I’m going to do—listen, The New York Times just did an article last week talking about the fraud, the 20-year fraud, 800 fraudulent studies produced by NIH on amyloid plaques, and not allowing any other hypothesis about the cause of Alzheimer’s disease.”

ALSOBROOKS: “How will you decide, Mr. Kennedy? Which scientists are they? The ones who disagree with you?”

KENNEDY: “The ones who are corrupt. The ones who have been doing science like the amyloid plaque studies that were fraudulent.”

After losing control of the narrative, Alsobrooks resorted to mocking Kennedy for not having a medical degree. Ironically, Biden’s HHS secretary, Xavier Becerra, did not have one either.

It was subtle, but Tulsi was indirectly asked about her speaking out on the US-funded biolabs in Ukraine 👀

Sen. Bennet (D-CO), very carefully asks Tusli about her stance on Russia’s “legitimate security concerns” and how she is repeating Russia’s justification for invading Ukraine, which includes their accusations of US-funded bioweapon development in Ukraine.

Bennet is consciously avoiding saying any buzzwords like “biolab”, or “bioweapons”, because the Dems know that people like me are waiting for them to bring it up. They are being very careful about how they question her about this subject, without bringing more attention to the secret they are already desperately trying to cover up.

RFK Jr. has been approved along party lines. The Democrats were loathed to approve a former Democrat with the name Kennedy to a cabinet post for a Republican President, especially one with the name Trump. Not one Democrat voted for their former colleague.

Senate panel advances RFK Jr.'s nomination to be health secretary

The Senate Finance Committee voted along party lines to send Kennedy’s bid to lead the Department of Health and Human Services to the full chamber.

https://media-cldnry.s-nbcnews.com/image/upload/t_fit-1000w,f_auto,q_auto:best/rockcms/2025-01/250129-RFK-aa-1057-b42f35.jpg

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. cleared a key hurdle Tuesday after a Senate panel voted to advance his nomination to be health and human services secretary to the full chamber.

In a vote along party lines, the Senate Finance Committee pushed through Kennedy’s nomination after he managed to allay concerns raised by Sen. Bill Cassidy, R-La., over his past anti-vaccine stances.

Cassidy, a doctor, signaled he held serious reservations over whether Kennedy was qualified to lead the vast agency, saying he was “struggling” with his decision after questioning him at two confirmation hearings last week. In addition to the Finance Committee, Cassidy serves as chair of the Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee.

In a statement posted to X before Tuesday's vote, Cassidy said he had "very intense conversations" with Kennedy and the White House over the weekend, specifically thanking Vice President JD Vance "for his honest counsel."

"With the serious commitments I’ve received from the administration and the opportunity to make progress on the issues we agree on like healthy foods and a pro-American agenda, I will vote yes," Cassidy said.

A scion of the storied Democratic family, Kennedy ran for president 2024, first as a Democrat and then as an independent, before dropping out to endorse Trump. While hitting the trail for Trump, Kennedy branded a "Make America Healthy Again" campaign, where he railed against food manufacturers and unhealthy ingredients in the nation’s diet.

Very interesting!
It was a lot of talking about Shein, a company accused of using forced labor...

Trump’s FBI Pick Kash Patel Took Up to $5M in Stock From Chinese Ecommerce Giant Shein

Donald Trump’s pick for FBI director told senators he has no plans to divest his shares, which his financial disclosure form says were received in exchange for consulting services.

Kash Patel, President Donald Trump’s nominee to be the head of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, owns stocks valued between $1 million to $5 million in a company that controls Shein, a controversial ecommerce and fashion giant founded in China, according to lobbying and corporate records from three countries reviewed by WIRED. They show that Patel began consulting for Shein one month before the company also retained the services of a lobbying firm where Pam Bondi, Trump’s newly confirmed US attorney general, worked at the time.

In a legally required financial disclosure, Patel told members of the US Senate—who are expected to vote on whether to confirm him next week—that he does not plan to divest his stake in Shein if he becomes the leader of the FBI. He was allotted shares in the fast-fashion company, which is reportedly valued to be worth $50 billion, in the form of what are called “restricted stock units”

RSUs are often given to company employees, who typically cannot cash them out until a certain amount of time has passed or other conditions are met. Patel disclosed that his Shein RSUs began vesting on February 1 and are expected to be paid out quarterly.

Legally, an official like the head of the FBI would not need to divest or recuse until a clear conflict of interest emerges, says Jordan Libowitz, vice president of communications at the watchdog group Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington. “However, the optics of the situation are not great,” he says. “So we would recommend divestiture or recusal from any matter involving Shein upon taking office.”

An official working for Trump’s transition team said that Patel has gone “above and beyond” in answering questions from lawmakers. “The Senate has evaluated all potential conflicts and concerns,” Arjun Mody said in an email to WIRED. Shein did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

In his financial disclosure, Patel said he began working as a consultant for an entity in the Cayman Islands called Elite Depot Ltd. in April 2024, which he described as a “fashion management company.” A WIRED review of corporate registration filings, lobbying disclosures, and other public records from the US, UK, and Cayman Islands shows that Elite Depot functions as a parent company for Shein.

Shein, which is known for selling low-priced clothing made in China, was under intense scrutiny in Washington over its alleged unethical business practices when Patel began consulting for the company. Amid the controversy, Shein was struggling to obtain approval from financial regulators to go public in New York. In February that year, then-senator Marco Rubio of Florida, now Trump’s secretary of state, urged the US Securities and Exchange Commission to halt Shein’s planned IPO.

In a financial audit Shein submitted to regulators in the UK—where it is currently trying to IPO after its attempts at a US listing were stalled—the company said its “ultimate controlling party is Elite Depot Limited, a company registered in the Cayman Islands.” Public filings submitted to Congress by three different political lobbying firms working on Shein’s behalf in Washington similarly describe Elite Depot as having a 100 percent ownership stake in the fast-fashion giant.

Elite Depot’s directors include Xu Yangtian, the name of Shein’s founder, and Donald Tang, the name of the company’s executive chairman, corporate records from the Cayman Islands viewed by WIRED show. (The list of directors was also reported on social media by journalist Roger Sollenberger.).....

“These ties between Patel and Shein are truly shocking,” wrote Rush Doshi, a professor at Georgetown University who specializes in China foreign policy issues and served on former President Biden’s National Security Council, in a social media post. “Especially amid reports that DOJ/FBI is going to reduce focus on [China] influence efforts in the US.”

If he becomes the head of the FBI, Patel could oversee a range of law enforcement activities that could have substantial effects on Shein’s business, including investigations into the company’s supply chains or its handling of consumer purchasing data. Shein has an estimated 17.3 million active customers in the US.

Patel would also be privy to sensitive national security information at the FBI, and his holdings in a company with operations in China could make him a target for espionage. In written responses to questions from lawmakers, Patel vowed he would “not participate personally and substantially” in matters that to his knowledge would have a direct financial impact on Elite Depot.

Patel isn't the only member of Trump's orbit that Shein has courted. One of the lobbying firms that it hired to curry favor among US lawmakers has numerous ties to the president and his administration. Ballard Partners, which filings show first registered as a lobbyist for Shein in May 2024, formerly employed both Bondi and Susie Wiles, Trump’s chief of staff. While the filings don’t indicate that Bondi ever lobbied for Shein directly, she was employed by Ballard Partners until being sworn in as attorney general earlier this week.

Bondi’s first actions after taking office included disbanding the Department of Justice’s Foreign Influence Task Force, a group established during Trump’s first term in office to root out foreign political lobbying and influence campaigns orchestrated by countries like Russia and China. Bondi said the move would free up resources for “more pressing priorities.”

President Trump’s FBI nominee, Kash Patel, will clear the committee on Thursday. Then, his confirmation vote will be sent to the floor of the US Senate.

After swearing Tulsi in as DNI, Trump says that he spoke with both Putin and Zelensky, and says everyone wants peace.

Notice the timeline: Soon after Tulsi was confirmed this morning, Trump started posting about the ongoing negotiations with Russia.

Are they related? Perhaps.

Maybe Trump was waiting for his highest-ranking intelligence position to be officially confirmed before proceeding to this next phase of the negotiations with Russia/Ukraine.

Given Tulsi’s comments on the US-funded biolabs in Ukraine, and the establishment’s claims that she is a Russian asset, it seems there might be some strategic timing going on here by Trump. A lot of dots are connecting.

MAHA: RFK Jr. Confirmed To Lead HHS Despite 'Traitor' McConnell Siding With Democrats

by Tyler Durden
Thursday, Feb 13, 2025 - 11:17 AM
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. was confirmed as the Director of Health and Human Services on Thursday, despite Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-INO) as the sole Republican to vote against him.

https://assets.zerohedge.com/s3fs-public/inline-images/rfk%20ss_0.JPG?itok=mdOXLi1Q

The vote - which is ongoing, came after a heated battle in the Republican-controlled Senate, which voted 53-47 on Wednesday to invoke cloture, setting up the final confirmation showdown. Kennedy, a longtime vaccine skeptic and former environmental activist, only needs a simple majority of 51 votes to secure the position.

https://assets.zerohedge.com/s3fs-public/inline-images/yesaaa.JPG?itok=h4-__uxM

Kennedy’s nomination has been a political firestorm from the start. His past claims linking vaccines to autism and other harms sparked a fierce backlash from Democrats, who grilled him in contentious confirmation hearings last month. But despite their objections, Kennedy managed to navigate the political minefield, thanks in part to key Republican senators who were initially hesitant but ultimately threw their support behind him.

A GOP Divide Over RFK Jr.

With Democrats on the Senate Finance Committee refusing to advance Kennedy’s nomination, pressure fell on Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-LA), chair of the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP). Cassidy, a physician himself, had expressed concerns about Kennedy’s anti-vaccine rhetoric but ultimately gave him the green light, citing a long list of commitments Kennedy made to ensure transparency and oversight.

“These commitments, and my expectation that we can have a great working relationship to make America healthy again, is the basis of my support,” Cassidy said.

Kennedy also won over GOP Sen. Susan Collins (Maine) and Sen. Lisa Murkowski (Alaska), both of whom had initially been skeptical. Murkowski admitted she remained wary of Kennedy’s stance on vaccines but pointed to his pledges to work with Congress and make data-driven policy decisions.

One of the biggest question marks was Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY), a staunch proponent of vaccines who contracted polio as a child. While McConnell voted to advance Kennedy’s nomination, all eyes were on whether he will break ranks with his party during the final confirmation vote.

Beyond vaccines, Kennedy has vowed to shake up HHS by tackling Big Pharma and the food industry, shifting the agency’s focus to chronic disease prevention and diet reform. His ‘Make America Healthy Again’ plan includes overhauling dietary guidelines, cracking down on ultra-processed foods, and addressing the root causes of the nation’s health crises.

“Our country is not going to be destroyed because we get the marginal tax rate wrong. It is going to be destroyed if we get this issue wrong,” Kennedy declared, warning of the dangers of chronic diseases.

From Political Outsider to Trump’s HHS Pick

Kennedy’s political arc has been quite interesting, to say the least. A lifelong Democrat, he frequently invoked his family’s legacy - his father, former Sen. Robert F. Kennedy, and his uncle, former President John F. Kennedy. But in recent years, he’s built strong alliances with right-wing figures, particularly over his vocal opposition to vaccine mandates.

Kennedy made headlines last August when he abruptly dropped his independent presidential bid and endorsed Trump, a move that shocked many in the Democratic establishment. After months of criticizing Kennedy, Trump embraced him, calling him “a man who has been an incredible champion for so many of these values that we all share.”

Trump wasted no time in rewarding Kennedy’s loyalty, nominating him for one of the most powerful roles in the federal government.

Kennedy’s confirmation comes just one day after another lightning-rod nominee, former Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, was confirmed as director of national intelligence in a 52-48 vote. If Thursday’s vote goes as expected, RFK Jr. will soon take the reins at HHS.

IT’S HAPPENING: RFK Jr. Vows “NOTHING Is Gonna Be Off Limits” in Chronic Disease Investigation

HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. just made a bold pledge that has the entire health establishment on notice: “NOTHING is gonna be off limits” in his investigation into the chronic disease epidemic.

Kennedy named the industries and products that will face the heat, including the childhood vaccine schedule, electromagnetic radiation, glyphosate, other pesticides, ultra-processed foods, artificial food additives, SSRIs and other psychiatric drugs, PFAs, PFOAs, and microplastics.

He also promised to investigate topics once considered untouchable, saying, “Some of the possible factors we will investigate were formally taboo or insufficiently scrutinized.”

“Whatever belief or suspicion I have expressed in the past, I’m willing to subject them all to the scrutiny of unbiased science. That is gonna be our template—unbiased science,” Kennedy continued.

He then issued a call for scientific honesty, suggesting that health agencies had previously abandoned studies to protect powerful interests in the past.

“Let’s use protocols that we all agree on in advance and not alter the outcomes of the studies when they’re halfway through, and that look inconvenient,” Kennedy stated.

This is the investigation Big Pharma and Big Ag have feared for decades. Let’s see who panics first.

The reason why Adam Schiff is panicking outside the FBI building this morning:

Kash Patel told us that Adam Schiff is the worst criminal in Congress in the last 250 years.

And that he must be investigated for his role in the whistleblower impeachment hoax.

"The guy that found and manufactured the evidence was the prosecutor in the case against the target of the investigation.
That is the ultimate conflict of interest.
He knew what he was doing and he thought he would never get exposed."

I love it when Adam Schiff panics outside of the FBI building because he knows that Kash knows where all the bodies are buried.

Senate Confirms Kash Patel To Lead FBI

by Tyler Durden
Thursday, Feb 20, 2025 - 02:24 PM
The Senate on Thursday confirmed Kash Patel to lead the FBI.

https://assets.zerohedge.com/s3fs-public/inline-images/kash-patel.jpg?itok=60Dk8Vu0

Patel had widespread support of Republicans - even Mitch McConnell (!), who argued that the Trump nominee would reform the nation's top law enforcement agency after decades of corruption.

https://assets.zerohedge.com/s3fs-public/inline-images/patel%20yeas.JPG?itok=sk3bGQ-1

"Mr. Patel should be our next FBI director because the FBI has been infected by political bias and weaponized against the American people. Mr. Patel knows it, Mr. Patel exposed it, and Mr. Patel has been targeted for it," Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-IA) said last week during a committee meeting to discuss Patel's nomination, before the panel advanced Patel in a party-line vote.

Democrats, meanwhile are positively spooked...

@CollinRugg
JUST IN: Adam Schiff, who deceived the public for 8 years by weaponizing his position against his political enemies, says Kash Patel is a political hack who will weaponize his position against his political enemies.

The irony.

In 2023, Schiff was called out to his face on CNN for intentionally lying to the American people.

Instead of coming clean, he doubled down.

Meanwhile, Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL) - who notably blocked the release of the Epstein client list that Patel has vowed to expose, held a press conference outside FBI headquarters on Thursday, slamming what he called Patel's "bizarre political statements" spanning Jan. 6, to retribution - and accused Reepublicans of "willfully ignoring red flags on Mr. Patel," who he argued has "neither the experience, the judgment or the temperament" to be FBI chief for the next decade.

"Mr. Patel will be a political and national security disaster," said Durbin.

Patel, a vocal critic of the FBI, has worked in several roles during the first Trump administration, including acting deputy director of national intelligence. In prior comments, Patel said he wanted to clean out the bureau's headquarters in Washington DC as part of a mission to dismantle the Deep State.

@FBIDirectorKash

I am honored to be confirmed as the ninth Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Thank you to President Trump and Attorney General Bondi for your unwavering confidence and support.

The FBI has a storied legacy—from the “G-Men” to safeguarding our nation in the wake of 9/11. The American people deserve an FBI that is transparent, accountable, and committed to justice. The politicalization of our justice system has eroded public trust—but that ends today.

My mission as Director is clear: let good cops be cops—and rebuild trust in the FBI.

Working alongside the dedicated men and women of the Bureau and our partners, we will rebuild an FBI the American people can be proud of.

And to those who seek to harm Americans—consider this your warning. We will hunt you down in every corner of this planet.

Mission First. America Always. Let’s get to work.

The FBI was weaponized to frame a presidential candidate turned president as a Russian agent. Adam Schiff was the leading Congressional proponent of this historic fraud, and Kash Patel was the leading Congressional investigator to expose it. That's why Schiff is now freaking out about Patel taking over the FBI.

It's in Democrats' political self-interest to come to grips with this, rather than to continue to enable its resident Russiagate fraudsters.

"Keep it coming — bring it on. But leave the men and women, the FBI out of it. They deserve better.”

He also promised that a new day at the FBI has started.

“I promise you the following, there will be accountability within the FBI and outside of the FBI, and we will do it through rigorous constitutional oversight — starting this weekend.”

Kash continued, “I am living the American dream, and anyone that thinks the American dream is dead, just look right here. You're talking to a first-generation Indian kid who's about to lead the law enforcement community, the greatest nation on God's green earth.”

He wasted no time turning his bold rhetoric into action. Following his blistering speech on Friday, he ordered (https://www.washingtonpost.com/national-security/2025/02/21/fbi-agent-transfers-kash-patel-sworn-in/)the transfer of 1,500 agents and staff from the bureau’s Washington, D.C., headquarters to field offices across the country.

Roughly 1,000 will be sent to high-crime cities that the Trump administration designated, where they can focus on fighting crime instead of political games. Another 500 will be reassigned to Huntsville, Ala., which is widely seen as D.C.’s version of exile.

This is just Patel’s first move, and if any Democrats want to shed a bunch of tears over the move, they can, but they can’t claim they shouldn’t have expected it. As the Washington Post reported (https://www.washingtonpost.com/national-security/2025/02/21/fbi-agent-transfers-kash-patel-sworn-in/), Patel made this plan known during his confirmation hearings.

Patel, in his 2023 book, vowed to shutter the Hoover headquarters building and turn it into a “museum to the Deep State.” He’s made similar recommendations at his confirmation hearing and in appearances on conservative TV news shows.

“One of my biggest personal recommendations is … you send those 7,000 agents in the headquarters building down range to chase down rapists, to chase down murderers, to chase down drug traffickers and let the cops be cops on the streets across America,” Patel said during an August appearance on “Stinchfiled Tonight.”

During his confirmation hearing last month, Patel was asked about his previous comments suggesting he wanted the FBI’s headquarters emptied out and shuttered. His responses did not directly address whether he would actually shut the building down or seek to transform it into a museum, but suggested that he believes the FBI’s workforce in Washington should go out into the country.

“A third of the workforce for the FBI works in Washington, D.C.,” Patel said. “I am fully committed to having that workforce go out into the interior of the country, where I live west of the Mississippi, and work with sheriff’s departments and local officers.”

It's day one and he’s already making changes. It’s glorious to see.

Two Republicans didn't vote for Cash Patel, Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski. Surprisingly Mitch McConnell voted in favor of Patel.

Mitch is a bit "wishy washy" LOL

Mitch just announced he wont run again. So, maybe he is just voting whatever they want to try and make all happy and sneak out the back door into retirement.

...which is not sitting well with current and former agency officials - or deep state journalists like NBC's Ken Dilanian, who reports that the FBI Agents Association struck out against Bongino's selection.

Without naming Bongino directly, the Association lashed out over the fact that the Deputy Director has typically been an active Special Agent.

"The FBI Deputy Director should continue to be an on-board, active Special Agent—as has been the case for 117 years for many compelling reasons, including operational expertise and experience, as well as the trust of our Special Agent population," reads a memo obtained by WNBC's Jonathan Dienst.

As the WSJ (https://www.wsj.com/politics/policy/trump-selects-dan-bongino-as-deputy-fbi-director-10d0e8c4)notes,

The announcement sent shock waves through the FBI, whose new director Kash Patel had offered Republican senators private assurances that he would name a special agent with bureau experience to be his deputy, rather than a political outsider. Patel was sworn in at the White House on Friday.

Leaders of the FBI Agents Association, who met with Patel in January, said the new director had agreed that the deputy should be a current special agent...

Ken Dilanian echoed this sentiment, complaining on X that Bongino "has never spent a day working at the FBI, but he has spent many hours spouting baseless falsehoods about the bureau."

In other words, the right people are freaking out right now.

Flashback to 02/02/25, new FBI Deputy Director, Dan Bongino, talks about the purge at the USAID.

He references one of my posts about the Trump admin “knowing where the bodies are buried”.

Now he joins the Trump team in the hunt.

Let the games begin!

Trump names Dan Bongino as next Deputy Director of FBI!

He will be Kash’s next in command, and will help lead the upcoming FBI purge.

Dan certainly knows how the game is played and where the bodies are buried.

We now have two MAGA pitbulls in charge of the FBI. 😈

He's a CIA stenographer.

Ken Dilanian
@KenDilanianNBC
Traditionally, the deputy FBI director has been a career FBI agent. That is particularly important when the director has no experience at the FBI. Donald Trump tonight announced he is appointing as deputy director Dan Bongino, a former Secret Service agent and prolific conspiracy theorist. He has never spent a day working at the FBI, but he has spent many hours spouting baseless falsehoods about the bureau, such as that the FBI lied when they said they don’t have a suspect in the pipe bombs as outside the RNC and DNC on 1/15/21. Current and former FBI officials are appalled—and extremely concerned for the national security of the country.

Dan Bongino is giving up millions of dollars a year and a #1 podcast to serve his country and reform the corrupt FBI.

Not many people would have the honor and integrity to do this.

Trump's new pardon czar ready to hit the ground running (5:10)

mO1s8AyPS-k

24 Feb 2025
Alice Marie Johnson, who was pardoned during the first Trump administration, joined 'America's Newsroom' to discuss her agenda as the president's newly-appointed pardon czar.

Alice's story is one of despair and betrayal ending (thanks to Trump + and those who advocated for her) in great success and service...

Quote from here (https://www.al.com/news/2025/02/alice-marie-johnson-alabama-prisoner-pardoned-after-kim-kardashian-lobbied-named-trumps-pardon-czar.html)

Alice Marie Johnson, 63, whose life sentence was commuted by President Donald Trump in 2018, has been appointed as the country’s “pardon czar.”

Johnson, who was previously incarcerated in Alabama’s Aliceville Federal Correctional Institution, has worked with Trump since her life sentence for drug offenses was commuted by the president after Kim Kardashian pleaded her case.

Johnson served 21 years of her life sentence after being convicted of drug conspiracy and money laundering in 1997.

In 1993, she and 15 others were arrested on various drug and money laundering charges, according to a 2013 profile by Mic Johnson.

Ten of her co-conspirators testified against her in exchange for reduced sentences, even though Johnson said she was only a go-between and never made any deals or sold drugs.

The co-defendants who testified against her were given sentences ranging from probation without jail time to 10 years; Johnson received life in prison without parole, plus 25 years, Mic reported.

It was her first conviction.

Moving forward, she said she is eager to help others who deserve a second chance.
