View Full Version : A Cyber Rant!! When is ease not easy anymore

When is the easy of our modern world no longer easy?

I write this with a degree of frustration inspired by some recent events I have been involved
I am in my early 70ies but not an old shuffling luddite. Yet I find I am eating up way too much time trying to solve websites and online services that should be so simple.
I'm no computer wiz , perhaps average, but I cannot imagine any seniors being able to do any of this in any way.

Trying to fill out Gov doc forms for tax rebate. OMG   no phone number, no human to speak with, no chat with anyone to make sense with , security so bizarre, I was forced to fill out an I D site with pics of my license and so on to prove who I am. Then round robin, rinse and repeat the same garbage I was just sent

I Needed the most convoluted password, then to verify it with text, e-mails to my phone, then press this, then sent that and only after getting verifying on my email , then get back to the site
They got lots of info from me and I still had no way of filling out the form or getting answers. So I guess that's the plan.Hugh   You sign up and give away everything of privacy, for you to get a ticket for a concert you already paid for.

What should have been the easiest thing to do was buy concert tickets for my local church event which is across the street!! .  Just to get the tickets has been a ridiculous journey in red tape time and exhaustion.   I had to sign up and start an account with a ticket / show agency.  Get a password, verify it was me by returning verification on the phone, then back to the computer .  But it stated I was already logged in and to log out so i could log back in

Then my tickets were a code, not tickets and so I just could not print the f__ki__g  things and bring them to the church next door. And I'm not trying to drink?
What the EFF??How can anyone stand this?

And how bout this below!  the copyright on line site rules for a password/

 We’re sorry, but the password you have chosen does not meet the Library of Congress password policy requirements. Please review the following and try again.

Password requirements:
1. A password must contain at least sixteen (16) characters, including at least three (3) of the following types of characters:
• Uppercase letters (A-Z)
• Lowercase letters (a-z)
• Numbers (0-9)
• Special characters(~!@#$%^&*_-+=`|\(){}[]:;”‘<>,.?/)
2. A password cannot contain three of the same characters. For example, it cannot contain the word “eerie” because the letter “e” is used three times in this word.
3. A password cannot be changed more than once per day (24 hours)
4. You must change your password every sixty (60) days or when prompted by the system.
5. When you change your password, you cannot use any of the eleven (11) most recently used passwords for your eCO user account./

And Im dyslexic to boot.

This was an incredible journey towards a shot or two of Tequila  .  And the password is only valid for a set time of two months , then start it all over again!  WOW!

Everyone is on their phone, including me.  I am caught in a cyber web world.  I cannot think clear, cannot find the right conditions for creativity which is what I do as an Artist and Songwriter. Perhaps I have been" opted "for extinction?

Yeah I love gps, emails and communication in a microsecond and so on.  But we are forced into this world with little option , unless you just want to rock on the porch with a corn cob pipe.

and its going to get much worse

I feel you Doug.

In my work on setting up computer, Smart TVs and other things at the customer, I often have my share of nearly endless "human" verification.

One tries to reset a password the customer forgot and the verification email doesn't reach the customer's email (neither their spam).
Then one is challenged by bad captcha puzzles where one is supposed to check pics with traffic lights. Those pics are so blurry and is the pole to be included?

Then on some forms when you add by mistake a space at the end of some field, you get an error but so cryptic, you never guess, why this sh..t thing isn't accepting your input.

And concerning passwords - you said it all.

My cyber rant: https://i.imgur.com/8EGAcYF.gif

I had a side business where I was the webmaster for three school systems and a new age store. I designed the sites and maintained them for twelve+ years. All of it was before ‘easy to use templates’ were the thing. I also did photo restorations and graphic design. I was self-taught which is to say, I considered myself to be tech savvy.

And now? https://i.imgur.com/cncox11.gif

I hold my breath every time I use my debit card. It seems every business has a slightly different way of doing things. Not to mention how many of the machines have been around for so long that they are clunky and slow or require the employee to use their super-duper magic card to get the machine to wake up again. I waste more time moving to another register and going through the motions all over again.

The same for when I fill-up my car. I’ve been known to move to another gas pump because if I accidentally push the wrong button, you’d think you can just begin again. No, you have to wait for the attendant to reset the pump. I’d swear the “help button” on the pump is on coffee break more often than not.

“Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime”

My pet peeve is how the employee comes over to show me how to use the machine. I remind them that I haven’t learned a thing because they talked too fast, pushed buttons and gave no time for me to follow step-by-step.

I wonder if they see 'old lady' and assume dinosaur. https://i.imgur.com/djFOMIO.gif

Running Deer . how true! The two step verification is the one that gets me. Everytime I log out and then want to log back in, gotta have the phone, hope its charged lalalala.

but the password stuff is beyond. that copyright gov site has to be kidding me.

this is what I dont want to invent things anymore. the patent process , the red tape the difficulty etc

i just wan to go fishing , side of a lake.

meat suite. I suppose you are correct.

I hear you loud and clear, I choose just give me the corn cob pipe and rocking chair.

I get so fed up with all that riff raff I could spit. I told my granddaughter that she tries to talk as fast as she types, that I hear in slow motion. It's so hard anymore to speak to a human person on the phone...it's push 1, push 2, etc. I usually push the "0" and hope I'm lucky and get a human.

Aw man, you just described every damn site I've ever been on that requires a username and passcode of some sort. It's always an adventure.

If I've forgotten the passcode of an old account, they'll let me reset it...just include an email for which the account is associated, they tell me. But then I can't recall which email address I used, and even if I can I might not remember the passcode for that old email address, etc

I might finally remember the passcode, but of course only after I've used up the 3 tries they offer to get it correct, and now I have to call in and wait on hold for an hour to speak to some dude in Indonesia who I barely understand..and before I know it I've wasted half of one of my precious days off and I'm ready to murder somebody.

I finally wisend up and wrote all my stuff down in a little notebook. It only took me 10 years to finally do it

You will need just the one thing to do everything.. soo much easier and safe...

That is what I think too. The point is to make everything so difficult you will RUN to digital ID.

So, the church won't let you just buy a ticket at the door?

Social Security seems to think I am dead. Three times this year alone they have sent me forms to fill out and return, to prove that I am still kicking. Done it three times, once certified mail. Got another notice saying that I have not replied so they will be doing something nasty really soon. Tried to contact them online, but they use a private service to verify ID. And you have to have a Credit Report rating to do so. Who, who has been out of country for 27 years, still has a Credit Rating?
It turns out that if they receive your report they give no acknowledgment. If they receive your report in the wrong color ink they throw it away and don't tell you.
I'm going to have to go the the Embassy in person just to prove I am alive.
Four hour drive each way, $50 or so in gas, just to do a simple task.

My bank gives me the same - you can't use a password that you have used for the last 10 times - since it changes every 60 days, that's 20 months or nearly two years.
So, am I supposed to write down all of them and then figure out something that has not been used before - and by used I mean even consecutive parts of it can't be used.
The last time they rejected my entry I went down to the bank and they said it was because I used the letters O, I, B, which are not allowed because they resemble 0,1,8,
and when I asked where it says that I got - well, everyone knows that. From birth I suppose. So, I'm with you.

IMO we are being battered by the beurocacy of the INVERSION. It wears people down.

Along with this issue of dealing with "business" online, I have been a little frustrated with twitter. It feeds me constant fluff and I have yet to figure out how on a computer one can interact with spaces. Lately too my brave browser of something keeps me form staying logged in anywhere. This is just the last couple of days around when PA was down. Coincidence of being frustrated in communication.

How do we GET out of this "death cult"?? I question how we will ever let go of addiction to this false light reality?

I have been reading and watching way too much about the Phenomenon. If it is in the electromagnetic astral realm, is our use of electricity allowing the "entities" (whatever it is) access to "us" It has led me to develop a strange thinking process. What if we will need to be offline completely to eradicate impingement upon us by way of ELECTRICITY. Yes, it calls in the spector of the downed electric grid.

Are we powerful beings who can defeat the adversary which seems antithetical to all that is "sane"??

By knowing now what we repudiate, is it a "simple" matter of realizing it is a terrible dream. We wake up and see our "cause" position. Then people stop believing in the SYSTEM.

I personally choose we all muddle along and we have the apocalypse. It is painfull. I see it as absolutely the only way to shock people into DIS believing faux world of lies.

I imagine we will continue to muddle along and there will never be a downed grid or nuclear war or a solar flare or anything predicted of transhuman/AI ascendency.

One by one each soul here will come online to the Innernet. "Time" will pass and we will dissolve the carapce of this transition. It will be challenging and exhilerating and nobody can predict it as it is on the edge of creation.

It has to do with each soul connecting in to the physical IMO. It has to do with our charge. It has to do with frequency and entrainment. It will be organic change based on a teleologic blueprint we can trust. I think it is how we are meant to grow and must happen. They say it is individual choice HOW one experiences "whatever happens".

I am sick and tired of the stupid and refuse to cooperate. The funny bit is that without declaring anything, circumstances so far are only ever mildly irritating. However, I repudiate the SYSTEM and therefore I IMAGINE something else. I feel immense joy contemplating organic technology from within me and all.

I metaphorically consider us in the underworld where we are facing the INVERSION we built. The underworld is shadows illuminated by light perhaps. It is subconscious and holds all we as humans ever created. It is the human dream/nightmare.

Some of us are seeing it as a created space. I think we have been tuned to the underworld and now are sick of it. Some people ARE REALLY ATTACHED. However, we are being delivered by our willingness to give up artifice for the REAL. There is nothing REAL in the underworld. Think of is as Platos cave in a way. We created images and preferred the images to the reality for which they stand. For instance superficially, we have beliefs that filter any observation of our environment.

WE have believed in the SYSTEM. You can see in yourself where you believe in external rules etc. In some way one is tied to the SYSTEM. It is a long unfolding out of what is REAL in us that changes our experience IMO from affected by to effecting. WE need "time" to unravel and IMO we will have it. The attempt is mainly IMO to demoralize us comepletely.

Therefore we must assiduoulsy INVOKE our preference. Mine is for Divine intervention and I feel it is here. I am very much into needing to refuse to be demoralized.

PERHAPS in "time":
We will no longer ever even think about how we have done things. There is no need for all of this legaleeze, beurocratized stupidity, no war, no INVERSION. We are manifested energy and we are FED UP with the SYSTEM.

We choose SANITY! Therefore we LEAVE insanity behind with our own choice and will. I imagine we are fully aware in the ether substrate connecting life. Our individual bodies ARE receiver/transmitters. The thing is, we start shining so BRIGHT with our frequency that THIS ENTRAINS our environment. We just know what is what when we tune in. I am committed to the mystery about how we will live there.

I don't know and I don't care (RJ SPINA) is a way of throwing up the ego's hands who wants to fix this place. I like the way Cynthia Sue Larson focuses on the relationship with Absolute Divinity and invokes"How good can it get" I embrace an unknown that is so amazing it makes me cry in happiness.

Doug (and everyone else here) I know your pain. We are being led to digital prison. I've disengaged from all that crap, and yea, don't mind being seen as the Old Biddy (Running deer, I'm with you here!) on the porch in the rocking chair. Bring it on. I'm no Luddite, and do enjoy tech and will just about (!) put up with OTP's sent to my (Dumb!) phone - no 'Smart' phone, tv or appliances for me. And CASH whenever I can. I cannot cope with what most of you are 'forced' into doing here, and Doug - I wouldn't have hesitated reaching for a Single Malt or two to wash it all down with!

I'm taking a leaf out of Max Igan's book and am attempting to 'go grey' as he puts it. That means disengaging from the digital prison...an absolute must here in the UK as Starmageddon cements another bar in our prison cell.
It is a sweet victory when you cease to care about keeping up with tech, and lets face it...we are told that most of its essential, but, while I do use the Net for ordering, I boycott the major supermarkets.
I now buy all our meat from a local organic, grass-fed animal farm and will be consuming Raw milk from now on. Buying it online yes (just press a few buttons!) but they also accept cash in person and will continue to do so. I don't 'waste' (my term) on what I consider to be non-essential to my survival, so I can afford to do this.

My Grandkids are getting fat and they need to get off their butts, out into the fresh air and interact with humans exchanging actual cash and they'll do that this year because I've stuffed their Xmas cards with cash instead of the digital Gift cards. I don't care that they see me as a ludditte....my well being and that of family who are living with me, is really all that matters.

Passwords book

From my first internet "experiences" I used external e-mails providers, never from my PC programs...( let them deal with any attack problems...)

In every e-mail provider I was under 2 different "Alias" ,one for games, other for friends...

Another for "official" matters like rent house payments,electricity,health insurance ,etc (all of that must be under my real name,of curse...) all of them got an special E-mail company(the best for security!)

The game e-mail told me suddenly they don't have anymore "free" service, just that way,without warning before! Result: I lost a game I pay for because don't accepted new e-mail! ,no way to change it!

Another "experience" with phones: with mobile phone calling anything "official" you got:
"...your waiting time is x "HOURS..." fück that...I got an older "analog" phone and let it call
all they need...it is gratis for me, from same internet provider... by the way , there is NO wireless by me...EVER!, everything with old healthy wire (no radiation)

Hard lesson learned: I got a little book with ALL passwords from everything! e-mails,phone,"official" business ,etc...

I'm thinking right now: maybe should get a second book... jeez... :hmm:

note: that "book" is just a "telephone numbers book" important is his "alphabet" for names...optimal to find quickly everything...assuming you get names in order...

I deal with some of these same issues, seems like on a regular basis.

But, for some reason, the sites I have set up on a schedule to make direct payments for monthly bills I never have an issue with. They automatically and instantly take my money monthly like clock work, never having any issues what so ever.

I closed an account with one company I made direct payments too for about 9 years and had an over payment credit/refund owed back to me. I spent over a year trying to jump through hoops and dance around with these people trying to get my over payment returned. I never did get it back! It's only 27.00 dollars but I just ended up giving up it became so frustrating, probably was their strategy all along.....

A word of caution for everyone... I hear your pain and certainly experience it myself. Very frustrating for sure. Also, meat suit's comment "And the solution is ready behind the curtain, digital ID.." is spot on.

There is one other dimension to this problem that makes things even worse. Scammers who want to steal your identity add to the problem by sending you emails or call you on your phone. They use very sophisticated methods to look real, even building websites that look just like the US Social Security or Department of Motor Vehicles or Paypal, etc... Here are few things I do...

Never, ever click anything in an email. No links or pictures or buttons. Instead I go directly to the website by opening a new tab on my web browser (Safari, Edge, Chrome, Opera, etc...) and type the location by hand and then log into my account by hand.
I presume all phone calls and email that I did not trigger are fake.
Always inspect the email address of the sender of every email. See if it makes sense. I literally do this for every email I get. The visual inspection is not fool-proof. Some senders are sophisticated enough to mask the real email source so I will sometimes copy the root location, and go to the website to see what it looks like.
Whenever I open up a new account somewhere I write down everything:

User name
Password
Support phone number
Web address

This way, when I get those emails or phone calls, I go to them using this information, not the information they send me in the email.

Hope this helps...

About "phone calls"

I checked every year about electricity power payments.. and change provider when find something better price, a friend of mine told me about some dude with better offers ... I try once and then wanted other service...

That dude was first desperate first and then I think he went furious...(because that scum was his only bread bringer...) and his "coley" ... try by me again and again and again by phone, I was: NO

That was 2 years ago, this year "somebody" try again... that phone call came from another city... I dint answer but note the number and city...

"They" called me for 1 month every day ,,, I just cancelled every number... got a list from some 15 numbers! They were real furious...
Just packed my phone with some stuff in a box in another room and just let it rang...

It seems they got no more numbers to stalker me... :smokin:

My favorite is when they want to send me a code, but they have my home phone, which doesn't do texts, and there is no way to tell them this. My other favorite is when I am entering a password for an account that exists, but which I can't access for some reason...they then tell me that Password is already being used.....I know that, it's mine, but I still am not able to access the site.

Having had 'stuff' going on regarding some basic technology that I have (laptop/TV/home phone / non 'smart' mobile) over the last 3 days, to do with a new contract - I can resonate with the thread topic - it would take much too long to go into the details but it's been so time consuming and frustrating in a myriad of ways I feel like I've had the life sucked out of me.... it's actually on the brink of being sorted (phew) but it's been hard - with extra annoying things.... like....suddenly becoming literally disabled!! -

I couldn't get through to speak to anyone regarding one aspect of the 'problem' to do with my Bog Standard Mobile Phone.... and the automated lines were driving me crazy and I was getting nowhere so I thought... I know I'll go into town and see if there's a shop (with actual people in !!!) that could help - my stress levels went down when I looked up on the internet to see there WAS A SHOP... (alleluia!!!) I phoned them up and they calmed my frustrated anxiety down saying to come in and they would help sort it....

It was nearly dark so I said I would go in the next day..... but.... out of the blue a couple of hours later I suddenly had a really painful knee.... I mean can't walk painful .... I have a tendency to having arthritis and gout sometimes and my foot started hurting as well... I thought OH NO I'm foiled and won't be able to drive or walk to get into the shop - so the frustrated anxiety shot up again -

I took ages to get to the spare room a few feet away where I keep a Zimmer frame for such occasions - I hadn't needed it for a year or two but I was suddenly incapacitated.... so I went to bed not knowing if I would be able to get into the shop - the shop which now seemed like my last hope :).... you know how horribly dramatic and frustrating these situations can become -

So.... in the morning my knee was still dodgy but I could put weight on it - my foot was becoming more painful but I thought I was going to get to that bloody shop if it killed me... so armed with a walking stick I assessed that I COULD drive ok and would hobble to the shop after parking - which I did and they helped me get things on the road to being sorted..

Oh the joys of technology hmmm ... being incapacitated like that at the vital moment - and reading the posts here I was thinking that we are being caught up in a web of evil...

Then when I was in bed (last night) wondering if I could make it to the shop the next day I saw this NDE video that fitted into my little drama.... it describes the mission creep of evil that all this technology could be leading to - is leading to...? Remember when whatshisname, Klaus Schwab of the WEF made some remark like.... 'it's not the world that will change...it's YOU that will change' (something like that) well you can see where that's going if you look at the following video...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Regardless of how anyone might feel about the religious slant and language of the NDE.... it seems to lay out just what could happen in the not too distant future......
It describes the potential Mission Creep of evil through modern technology.... :/
A word of caution for everyone... I hear your pain and certainly experience it myself. Very frustrating for sure. Also, meat suit's comment "And the solution is ready behind the curtain, digital ID.." is spot on.
There is one other dimension to this problem that makes things even worse. Scammers who want to steal your identity add to the problem by sending you emails or call you on your phone. They use very sophisticated methods to look real, even building websites that look just like the US Social Security or Department of Motor Vehicles or Paypal, etc... Here are few things I do...
Never, ever click anything in an email. No links or pictures or buttons. Instead I go directly to the website by opening a new tab on my web browser (Safari, Edge, Chrome, Opera, etc...) and type the location by hand and then log into my account by hand.
I presume all phone calls and email that I did not trigger are fake.
Always inspect the email address of the sender of every email. See if it makes sense. I literally do this for every email I get. The visual inspection is not fool-proof. Some senders are sophisticated enough to mask the real email source so I will sometimes copy the root location, and go to the website to see what it looks like.
Whenever I open up a new account somewhere I write down everything:
User name
Password
Support phone number
Web address
This way, when I get those emails or phone calls, I go to them using this information, not the information they send me in the email.
Hope this helps...
Here are two examples of a scam emails I received today. There is nothing obvious to indicate that the Paypal one is a scam other than the fact that I don't do anything with Paypal or with the North Shore Community Youth Organization.
The Social Security email is easier to spot because it was sent by "support@myschool.ac.zw" which is clearly not the Social Security Administration.
This is one of those rare occasions where I can relate to exactly what Doug said on two counts in the OP.
Well, on the one hand, I am the type of person who just does not want a portable phone.
It would have "eased" my experiences, but yes, I found myself having to do a "video verification" suddenly for something that is old and never did anything like this.
I was not prepared, It was really difficult and horrible. Took three days.
More recently for a "ticket" I also ran in to the sole option of a QR code. When I got there, the guy just asked my name verbally, and the guy who was supposed to check my ID just waved me past.
For the most part, I would say all the inter-connectedness has caused a plummet in quality. I can understand the conveniences of some of it. But I have found the hard way it has really ruined the job market. In the days of newspapers, you had to physically go in and spend money to place an add. The online equivalent is almost entirely spam. Nevertheless, you will set up logins and passwords galore, and probably receive form letters. Ironically, it's someone's job to, for instance, video verify you. Like it was someone's job to post psychological tests. And a lot of other non-productive things that are likely to become nuisances.
That's what I get from the invention of cell phones. I already lost interest in the original kind, because, well, it turned into spam. As soon as I developed a routine of getting home, playing five messages off a machine that had come from other machines, I was tired of it.
There's a lot of work that goes into setting up these systems, a lot in trying to scam them, a lot in pseudo-legitimized affairs such as "recruitment" or "advertising", we wonder who is left doing any actual three-dimensional stuff.
Thank you all for you sharing. I got thru a good deal but dont have time to see all
I am not going to go to the rocker quite yet. As a composer of songs and my music, I need to deal with all this garbage. Without the cell phone to recieve a 2 point authentication etc, I cannot work my software, cannot get upgrades etc, then nothing works.
the upgrades are insane yet without them things dont work. the serial numbers are insane as I demonsrated in the copyright instructions in my OP
I worked for quite some time with repeated failure to figure that one out and now its no longer good. getting the launch codes for the nuke arsonal has to be easier.
And everything needs to be backed up, needs to be saved, and where is the question? The Cloud? i still dont quite get that. Someone elses server has your material? Do I Print a hard copy? or Put on my desktop for easy access.
this is going to usher in the digital I D because it will be unavoidable not to have it. I will say, as bad as things are getting, I feel MUCH better that this deep state criminal gang with their weaponized justice dept was outed..
Im truly happy I have reached 70 years old. I would never want to be in my 20ies now and for way more reasons than this issue.
god bless all. great place Project Avalon
Internet WARP SPEED
After 2 0r 3 provider I stayed with my actual from 10 years or more, I really don't remember exactly how long...
They are inclusive today the best performance/price ,but...every year they try that you jump to the latest warp speed etc...
It is cable internet, and I still use the original equipment ( don't remember the name in English now...)
They send flyers with all the marvelous possibility : zillons TV channels,better download for everything,better performance for games,movies,sports,media work,you name it...
And then they call me...and I say always NO thanks...
My PC is 10 years old,BUT...I buy it in an internet PC shop where from a basis model/price you select, trough a special programmer
you can change some components like chip,Motherboard,graphic card,etc.
That resultant was the second best equipment at that moment! and today maybe need a new graphic card IF I still were using Windows, but from 1 year ago I don't...
With Linux Mint now maybe get another decade without needed some new components...
After many flops try, The internet company change the tactic and the next phone call is an old lady with silk voice and try the old
game " but my sweet boy, why you don't like the spinach soup? it is in your benefit "...:chuckle:
At that moment remember that old say... Be docile like a dove... but wise as serpents!
I don't wanted to spit a "conspiracy theorist" rant (knowing that this interview will be recorded...)
Like I don't watch TV from the moment I got internet, etc
I just tell her with my best calm and seductive voice: Why I don't need the new superpower speed?
"to be sincere with you... the golden time for plane joes and janes with internet is OVER!
... because today you must pay for every thing... you cant download free anything!
What you offer me is only interesting for people who work with media , film, games, publicity,etc
I don't...
First she was speechless ... then she thanks me for my sincerity and let me in peace...
That was 3 years ago...no more phone calls...
This gonna be a question for U.S. citizens, because from there came that program.
Everybody remember movies like Blade runner, and such sci-fi scenarios...where publicity was everywhere, not only on building surfaces but at home too...
And today sadly is reality...Alexa,siri, your talking fridge, your talking car, every THiNG try to tell you what and how to do...not laughing anymore...
Everybody here grow found of internet because the infinite possibility to achieve knowledge ,among other things ...but now...
You cant watch movies, documentations at all... everything is loaded with many adds...include a concert or just a song...WTF!
All of that is simple an attack to our cognition! NO relax, NO knowledge acquisition allowed , nothing BUT CONSUME!
And please don't come now with this or that trick to avoid this ATTACK ...
My question is simple: isn't there any law protection for consumer? in the land of the ( alleged) free?
Or we just have to accept this "reality" per se... because is already too late and the only expected from us is "welcome to the machine!"
A good idea is to constitute a library. Not the one hundred books one has “liked” in one’s life (and not thrown away: I have a neighbour who buys one book a month, reads it then throws it away) – but: (a good quantity to start with) the one thousand one feels are necessary. Those one thousand one may not “read“, but consult. So deciding which ones will belong to one’s library is in itself a major part of the self-educating experience.
Unless one does so – why bother in the first place about what the Powers of Emasculation are planning with us? One solution to temptation has always been succumbing to it.
I am not a US citizen but would like to give here my 10 cents.
The conundrum with that endless commercial ads "enforcement" is the following:
Those tech companies protect themselves legaly with their "Terms of Service" aka TOS to which customers are forced to agree (to their "usage" terms), in order to use their services.
And - by the way - concerning ad blocking - increasingly, web sites are locking out those who are using "ad blockers". :pout:
Michel, you miss total the point here... reed this Thread title again...
From the moment I could read (very, very early...) never EVER needed to told what to reed or where to purchase the books... I got my own library...
For me internet was never about books,I barely reed 3 capitels from somebody,that's all,isn't my favorite medium for that...or was OK for short comment and later I buy that book (from books shop,not Amazon and their similar ...)
For me is about all the interesting people talking about whatever theme I found worth of my time...and music ,concerts,and maybe some rare movie, that is...
And maybe some people with some knowledge on themes what this Thread is about take a look at and can say something savvy on questions that I and neither you don't know ...
When is the easy of our modern world no longer easy?
I write this with a degree of frustration inspired by some recent events I have been involved
{snip}
And how bout this below!  the copyright on line site rules for a password/
 We’re sorry, but the password you have chosen does not meet the Library of Congress password policy requirements. Please review the following and try again.
Password requirements:
1. A password must contain at least sixteen (16) characters, including at least three (3) of the following types of characters:
• Uppercase letters (A-Z)
• Lowercase letters (a-z)
• Numbers (0-9)
• Special characters(~!@#$%^&*_-+=`|\(){}[]:;”‘<>,.?/)
2. A password cannot contain three of the same characters. For example, it cannot contain the word “eerie” because the letter “e” is used three times in this word.
3. A password cannot be changed more than once per day (24 hours)
4. You must change your password every sixty (60) days or when prompted by the system.
5. When you change your password, you cannot use any of the eleven (11) most recently used passwords for your eCO user account./
And Im dyslexic to boot.
This was an incredible journey towards a shot or two of Tequila  .  And the password is only valid for a set time of two months , then start it all over again!  WOW!
Everyone is on their phone, including me.  I am caught in a cyber web world.  I cannot think clear, cannot find the right conditions for creativity which is what I do as an Artist and Songwriter. Perhaps I have been" opted "for extinction?{snip}
