It seemed interesting to me to throw a thread to follow the inexorable failures of mega-projects touted by our dear megalomaniac globalists.

To open the festivities, the NEOM project, also called The Line.

170km of uninterrupted city, crossing the desert from the red sea. Pharaonic construction initiated by MBS, at an estimated cost of 500 billion dollars and the disengagement of some 20,000 Bedouins living traditionally in these regions. His Highness knows that history books don’t care about camel herders and praise great builders.

Their site touts the futuristic city as "a global chance" and assures that "NEOM’s unique location will ensure residents a better quality of life while protecting 95% of the surrounding natural landscape."
"THE LINE will be able to accommodate 9 million people and will be built on an area of only 34 square kilometres. The modest footprint of infrastructure will improve the efficiency of urban systems as never before. The ideal climate all year round will allow its inhabitants to enjoy the surrounding nature. They will also have access to all facilities within a five-minute walk, in addition to the high-speed train that runs from end to end in 20 minutes."

Forget the 20.000 Bedouins. Forget the havoc that an uninterrupted wall of 500m high will cause to this same nature, and natural migration patterns.

It seems that the project knows a lot of difficulties... Delay, explosive costs but also human dramas to shovel for workers.
This is not new in Saudi Arabia, you might say. Suicides are very common among workers from abroad.

"A project that goes wrong. Gang rapes, attempted murders, drug trafficking... In Saudi Arabia, the futuristic project Neom is accused of the worst excesses.

According to the Wall Street Journal, workers, mostly Pakistanis, Bangladeshis and Filipinos, work in unhealthy conditions. In total, several tens of thousands of workers are housed in makeshift camps. Last year, 168 informal camps were counted."

"But despite the inauguration in October of the luxury resort island Sindalah, the Neom project is a disaster and accumulates delays. So much so that the city of The Line should be only 2.4 kilometres long."

Good luck with this, M BS* ______________X

. . . more on the NEOM (The Line) project here (https://projectavalon.net/forum4/showthread.php?121937-F.E.M.A-D.E.W.s-Camps-and-Kill-Cities-Etc&p=1577771&viewfull=1#post1577771)

We ALL have imagination. Why is it that only a tiny connected few get to make theirs materialise as the future for all of us ( who remain ).

In Saudi Arabia, they are really going to do this (?). A linear narrow city that's over a hundred miles long and almost invisible. I can see how it's a cybernetitian's dream, but actually live there ?
